[00:00:00] Hello, you're listening to the Roleplaying Exchange. Tonight's game is The Sprawl. I'm your GM Joe and let's go through the players and their characters in the players alphabetical order. Thank you. Thank you. This is Adam double-checking. Yep. No Aaron in this game. So I am number one.

[00:00:22] Yay, and I will be reprising the Role of Banshee. Banshee has been with me for I guess this is our second season of Sprawl so to speak. Banshee is a playbook the driver and periodically I decide to go into an accent. So

[00:00:41] by original creation she is Irish, but my Irish accent is just it leaves some things to be lacking. So I may spruce it up time and time again because Banshee has been using a few chips and there's some residuals that she's dealing with right now.

[00:00:59] And I guess one less final note Craig could get caught up on this when we get the game up and going, but Banshee's happy that so far we're taking steps to mitigate collateral damage. It seems like

[00:01:12] I think that if we went to Taco Bell or Neo Taco Bell there would probably be a body count. You mean Taco Bandies? Taco. That's right it is canonical. But you know so we're trying to help the

[00:01:26] homeless people out of the sewer so they can have death race, sewer, shark, laser tag? Yeah that sounds about right. Okay well I'm the most dangerous game. Moving right along. All right this is Chris and I'm playing Craig Sarota. I wasn't in the last game.

[00:01:49] I am the reporter playbook and general Roustabout, freelance journalist with a death wish. Well that brings it to me I guess. Hello everybody this is David. I am playing a killer of a killer playbook

[00:02:05] and that is Elena Loboshenko, the woman in white. Elena is thoroughly Canadian according to her passport and has absolutely nothing to do with Russia anymore. And this is Jeremy. I'll be reprising the role of Julian Black, the friendly local fixer and

[00:02:30] hoping to not get completely killed this mission considering last time I got basically my leg blown off. Hoping this one goes better. He's a pig, he gets you new leg. Look barely even squeak. It's much better than last one. I do know when it rains now though.

[00:02:49] Well yeah we put that weather out there before. That's true it beeps and a little satellite comes out. It only detects rain though no other elements of the weather. That's right. He's always raining somewhere in Los Licoros. Yeah it's in the Pacific Northwest.

[00:03:08] All right so you have received your tickets and are ready to go down to get involved in the a real root and toot and shawler and hooten fracas. Fracas time in the sewers beneath Los Ligeros.

[00:03:33] So you'll notice that there's a batch of tickets. None of you are all the tickets are individual. The tickets are also have two different colors. There is a green ticket and there is a blue ticket. Let's see Julian you received a blue ticket. Fanchi received a green ticket.

[00:04:06] Elena received a green ticket. Craig received a blue ticket. I'm going to put that down here. Think I received green or you're typing it thank god. Yeah. You literally just told me I was like uh. Was I supposed to be paying attention?

[00:04:33] By the way Joe my character is colorblind. Well that's going to be real good. I bet it all on gray. Right here and banshee. Joe sort of ever always bet on woman in light. Waits an easy color to see. So uh.

[00:05:03] I'm just gonna like look over at Julian just kind of like pleadingly like tell me what is going on. You guys don't know anything about the colors. You don't know what that means. I don't know what's going on. I just like gotta call it.

[00:05:15] Okay you're gonna tell them in character what's going down. Well Craig we're going to go play with some new toys uh furnished by uh friendly local gun dealers aka corporate gun dealers. There's a Warren Pierce corporation. Yeah of course our friends at Warren Pierce.

[00:05:37] We are currently going to infiltrate as the name on your badge. You are currently known as wizard for reasons. Okay. There's going to be a thing called the fracas underneath I think it's the fracas. That's right. I've heard about fracas before.

[00:05:58] Yeah we're it's this year it's being held in the sewers so we're trying to get all the people out of the sewers so they don't become casualties. I did take care of quite a few of those people early.

[00:06:08] That's right we we cleaned out the old row house that we you know had our last stand in last time. We turned we flipped it and now it is a somewhat nice house that has been cleaned of all the bodies that were in it.

[00:06:24] Most bodies but it's okay the people who are still in there are cleaning the rest of the bodies for us. That's right a little miss sunshine is very good at what she does but to get the blood out of the carpets.

[00:06:39] But yeah it's in the sewers we're trying to get the sewer people out and we also have to kill a Mr. Colonel Brent Starling. We're also at the moment we're trying to make it sound like an

[00:06:51] make it look like an accident by up in the amperage on the bullets that we're using. What actually is going to happen who knows I'm just looking forward to not getting shot.

[00:07:00] So what I think I can do here is I'll start recording as soon as the fracas starts and I'll do everything I can to spin it so it looks like an accident. Oh yeah we did put cameras up like discrete cameras up too that we could ping.

[00:07:17] Yeah you gained access to the cameras installed by Sigen they got a deal to advertise the fracas overseas to high level subscribers. As it is right now I think we're going to try has the primary missions to do to take care of Mr. Starling but the secondary objective

[00:07:42] is I think we were going to party him out to the countries that hate him because he is a very big war criminal. That's right yeah there was definitely a lengthy discussion about how you were going to

[00:07:51] contact the various governments who have bounties on his head and then party parts out to prove that he's dead and receive the funds. Not a bad idea a bit cold-blooded but hey that's life. Hey we're balancing it out by saving sewer people.

[00:08:09] David Joe did a really great job is like talking about this guy and he started talking about all the war crimes and horrible things the man's done but the end of it everybody here even brownie was like yeah this guy's gonna die like.

[00:08:22] Okay I'll cede to your old judgment I wasn't there. That's the general gist of what's going on we'll find out what happens when the rubber hits the road. Okay sounds good I just wanted to be brought in the loop. The chat has the names that we're going by.

[00:08:42] So to begin the fracas you go to the Warren Pierce Casino which is cowboy themed. Oh we had one last piece of intel we were getting off of Dr. Frank about his cybernetics too.

[00:08:56] Oh right Dr. Frank okay so um yeah he's he is a dangerous individual Dr. Frank does get back to his yeah I got some contacts in uh in Eastern Europe and uh you know a lot of those guys

[00:09:12] went and put the stuff in this guy it's uh it's a little antiquated but he's pretty wired chrome everywhere I mean discrete discrete chrome but he's gonna be much stronger than your average human

[00:09:32] much tougher a lot of armor plating um he's got some he's got some claws so getting close uh and he has uh at least one hand deployable gun so he's got a gun in his arm at least one

[00:09:54] arm possibly more okay so that's just all the stuff that we know like he may have had upgrades between now and the time that the intel came in but uh yeah uh that is for that is what is known

[00:10:08] about his upgrades okay he's fairly wealthy uh and he um as such he may have a doctor on staff to put in new stuff he probably frankly based on his record he probably got a little bit of an upgrade

[00:10:26] before he came out here any type of electronic shielding like that would stop the waves uh if it's antiquated that's why i'm curious I mean yeah he's he's still gonna be vulnerable to like EMPs and stuff if that's what you're asking

[00:10:44] about if you're asking about uh like shock rounds they're not really going to affect them unless they're like lethal and then they'll just be a taze okay well thanks doctor so the way to cool

[00:10:59] well we have rounds that we can basically customize from what brownie was doing last time like we we initially said shock rounds but we could basically customize them to whatever we want

[00:11:10] they were not shock rounds as much as shock and awe we we expected to put some magnesium to make them into hyper flares so there's a lot of boom there's a lot of blast and there's a

[00:11:23] lot of bright all at once because everybody is going to be going on low light vision for sewer because it's sewer so we're going to basically overload all of his circuits and if he does not

[00:11:35] have the high grade anti-dazzle he is going to be dazzled is easy enough to go to second round of ammunition as EMP so that we dazzle him and then once he's dazzled then we look him down

[00:11:51] look him down like where your head's at Elena that's why that's the main one of the big reasons we keep you around the other one just because i love your company oh you are so sweet mr black also you're really really good at killing people

[00:12:10] da is what Elena do good to know what you're good at uh all right uh any other unfinished business uh i mean unless less craig has any last minute things that he can do i'd say we're probably

[00:12:31] heading over to the thing yeah we're we're at the our clock's limit i think yeah that's i assumed we were so that's why i didn't say anything yeah let me take yeah like where clock is at 2200

[00:13:00] not that's not commentary on country music it is a commentary on the type of music they're playing no matter what kind of country you like this is a trash version of it so jason all day got it

[00:13:31] some high-level executives from various corporations here a whole suite of side gen guys who are babbling excitedly to themselves they're probably running uh rigs so they can uh record the whole thing um a bunch of they uh hassled a bunch of the their influence influencers in um

[00:13:57] um let's say a number of people from uh the other corporations some corporations that are out of towners you don't know them but you can tell by the way people were dressed uh who is here as a

[00:14:15] who's who who is here as a pro those are easily identifiable who are here who's here as uh for fun and who is here uh as a corporate yeah corporate event

[00:14:36] this is their team building exercise next is the trust falls yeah so to uh set the scene just a tiny bit um we know that alina is very obvious when she walks into most places because woman in white

[00:14:51] yeah and um deference to the group and the fact that i am using an alias uh she has switched her monochrome for a different chrome so today she is the woman in red with a garish wig to match

[00:15:07] that makes sense alina i say this in the nicest way possible you look like pipi long stocking who is pipi longstock have i do we have contract on her somebody should probably make an

[00:15:20] assess roll sure i can do that i'll uh i'll see what i can do as well nice that's a 10 uh you get three holds he can ask your three questions is it just one or do i need ten i rolls well

[00:15:38] uh i it's a large crowd i'll let you roll as well okay so i'm trying to pull up my i forgot to pull up my sprawl book that's okay that's a 13 we are accessing fools we are going to get our

[00:16:06] wary of so uh the tickets they strangely align with the wealth level and there's a serious cutoff junior executives they got green mercenaries they got green those streamers over there they got green

[00:16:25] uh vice president of uh biogenetics for weber bachi bachi galupi uh he's got a blue ticket um that corporate team from out of town they all have blue tickets ooh that doesn't seem good those tickets seem real classist

[00:16:52] all right so um i'll just forward that to everyone it's like all right we we got a split up from lana and banshee um because you're less important than us to these people

[00:17:08] and uh you you get the feeling that half of the group the group with the blue tickets know what the deal is and the group of the green tickets don't yeah so uh julian you and i are

[00:17:22] of a better class than these folks so yeah we gotta we gotta play that up yeah let's go mingle uh that means we'll have my like ratty jeans hey man it's a statement tech pros can be uh the most

[00:17:36] ratty-looking people ever yeah that means i guess we need to come in earlier than they do or no you can come in at the same time this was the only differentiator besides obvious other other class indicators also exist but the the only thing everybody has shown up randomly

[00:17:55] so you don't have to worry about you just know that there is a distant uh a difference and it is going to be used during the game somehow okay well we could also just make them make them seem like

[00:18:07] there are bodyguards aka like disposable ah you notice that the people who came in the rich folks who came in with bodyguards or bodyguards also got blue tickets oh well never

[00:18:16] mind it yeah no we've we've gotta play it up like class divide um so where can i gain the most advantage where can you gain the most advantage as outlawed so yeah yeah yeah uh so there's a group

[00:18:39] of uh nano link dudes over there uh they're all obviously cybert up chrome limbs and the whole deal uh and then uh wb's got uh another load of dudes and ladies who are all like ultra muscly

[00:18:58] they do it with jeans instead um it looks like if you had to guess that they're they're running these folks through as a test like hey we're gonna cyber you up you get to keep them but this

[00:19:13] you know we're gonna put you through a live fire exercise which is this the fracas they're going to be extremely dangerous if you don't want to get tagged out but for the end of the match

[00:19:25] you got two groups to hook up with gotcha you might have to pay them but that's all that's all within the rules there's nothing wrong with that as far as the rules go

[00:19:37] of the game all right i think i i think i know how i can play that um and let's see what do i notice despite an effort to conceal it but you notice quite an effort to conceal it

[00:20:00] um there you've been in this casino before it's real trashy and it purports to be low tech you know sort of fitting in with the theme uh but your fucked up cyber eyes uh did pick up a real

[00:20:20] heavy scan cyber um cyber ears picked up a real heavy scan uh you got sudden tinnitus as you went through the the doorway so they're scanning everybody real hard to make sure nobody's

[00:20:36] bringing in any outside materials that they're going to be able to sneak in uh or at least they want to know about it nobody has been stopped and you can be morally certain somebody's got live ammo

[00:20:49] here but they haven't stopped you what they for fucking sure know about it all right um before we eventually break up i will relate that to the crew and also remember you got encrypted

[00:21:05] uh encrypted communications gear and stuff too so true that's all fine yeah did it care well i'm just saying like for our pc for your purposes yeah yeah yeah and i'm always basically record my my uh

[00:21:23] recording software is encrypted in my ears so it's gonna be easier for me to hide it all right julian you should probably ask some questions too uh what's the best way out

[00:21:35] best way out that's sort of context dependent um pine box your best way out on your bank probably gonna be have somebody come in with a boat and get you uh you're gonna be faster than

[00:21:55] basically everybody um some of the sewers are actually surprisingly deep um that is gonna be your best way out of the sewers uh you can see nobody is prepared for instant exfiltration so think nobody is there to to catch you oh you do notice the the colonel

[00:22:24] he's sort of standing in a corner by himself with the two heavy hitters next to him uh colonel starling who is that is by the way okay um let's see who is the biggest threatened situation biggest

[00:22:48] threatened situation is uh the warren pierce hits quads there are regular security guys it seems like at first but a second glance tells you that just the way they're moving their it that's

[00:23:04] somewhat alien it's it's far too smooth um and too quick just a just a tiny bit too quick to be natural and they're carrying a lot of heavy guns and from what you can tell they're ready to deploy

[00:23:24] into the sewers at a moment's notice so if you pull off the hit these are the guys to avoid because they will kill your ass real fast or kill squad and are serious um in fact when you take a

[00:23:41] closer look at their armor it seems like regular sort of military grade kevlar with the ceramic plates but there are clear heavy weapons mounts where can i gain the most advantage gaining the most advantage uh where can you gain the most advantage schmooze some of the mercenaries

[00:24:02] like the individual guys or or gals uh run over them talk them up let them know any information that you know they'll they'll have your back if you can figure

[00:24:16] something out uh and you let them know they're going to repay you because uh this is this is a perfect for them this is their trade show right they're coming out here to show the skills to the

[00:24:32] other attendees so they can get contracts for the next year uh if you can make them look good that is worthwhile they will help you out now they won't get themselves killed or anything

[00:24:46] but they'll help and they'll accept it on its face like they'll they know what the deal is like they know you're helping them for some reason but it does not matter okay yeah they're just

[00:24:57] they're just make it they're just trying to get money that's right all right so i think the smart move here is um you go talk to the mercs i'll try to get in with like the nano link group

[00:25:08] they're going to be higher risk but that's good for us because if they're higher risks then that means there's higher chance that they'll fuck up and we can use that as um smoke screen yep all right any other actions anybody wants to take right at this moment

[00:25:23] well if they're gonna tell me about the uh hey let's at least try to get some of these mercs on our side i'm going to make an assess roll of my own see if i see any former colleagues people that i know

[00:25:38] people to actually say no well let's chat up this one because if we talk to yeah yeah oh man if you fail this roll then you're you found found one that you definitely should not chat up

[00:32:30] uh the the suits are looking at him and considering whether he's come out of retirement and what utility he might be to them for that uh and whether it's worth the reputational risk uh and also the the

[00:32:46] risk of uh escalating any incidents he's involved in because he is the escalator yeah i don't i don't if he ever breaks down he will just be the stairs i don't like escalators i don't

[00:33:04] know what they're up to oh okay hmm well that seemed like my my my action there uh okay uh anything gay after i kind of gauge that if i were gonna make a row it houses the kill squad

[00:33:21] operate how are they in communication possible means to interrupt or delay their responses so um it's gonna be a ss again okay they're gonna have the same sort of you don't have to just guess work you guys are running a pretty quality

[00:33:42] tech net basically uh they're gonna have the same there's probably will be routed through a central central processor if you can get somebody to hack that you could disrupt them not long term like it'll give you like a minute before they manage to switch

[00:34:00] into individual team comms which are going to be on a secondary system and probably will be able to beat the hacker because they're taking this really seriously they don't want to kill their top they don't want to kill their corporate allies they don't want them to get

[00:34:16] killed uh this is a big deal for warn peers like this is their trade show as well where they show off all their new gear and uh it's a reputation thing like they run this fucking thing every time

[00:34:34] this one's bigger and better than the last one specifically because the last one went so poorly so many players got killed they're taking security extra seriously now okay

[00:34:46] if you threw a hacker into that you'd get a minute or two tops and that guy's life would be in literal ass danger well i was gonna say we should uh get my uh brother-in-law we've been never
