Malthaius the Farseer looked at his humble flock, the menagerie of huts and bonfires lighting up the twilit grounds. It filled him with warmth, this little community of his, but it also gave him a chill of worry. He turned to the silhouettes of the great standing stones on the hill to the north. A mist rolled in between the village and the stones, the druids sacred ritual site. ‘Would someone be taken tonight?’ He wondered. The strange lights in the night sky... would someone be taken by them? In the day, the stones belong to the druids… but lately. At night, things came from beyond the stars and moon, people had gone missing and the village was fearful of things that came in the darkness. A solution needed to be found, which the Farseer hoped the bones and stones would tell him. He cast them to the earth with a strange hum as they impacted. He read their cryptic message… ‘Expect Outlanders to halt the toiling of outlanders.’ Malthaius closed his eyes and breathed deep, still hearing the hum of the shiny little gems, pondering the message, what did it mean?...
