Actual Play - Swords of the Serpentine - Losing Face - Episode 2

With only hours left to spare, our adventures must gain access to a sold-out performance at the opera house to save the leading lady from a slow death and thwart an assassination attempt.

Adam – Game Master
David – Koban the Wound Binder – Barbarian Healer
Chris – Brand of Vitriol – Thief
Joe – Ildefonso – Sentinel

[00:00:00] So gentlemen, we've already checked with the perfumer over there. You all have got your big hint here that the person that you are

[00:00:10] Looking into that without a face is DeNora and I'm trying to find her last name

[00:00:17] I should probably drop that into the chat

[00:00:21] And just because it's been in three months and we've just started recording. Let's go over characters again

[00:00:26] This is Chris. I'm playing Brande Vitriol our

[00:00:30] groups local shady person drug dealer and

[00:00:35] more or less good guy

[00:00:37] up next in

[00:00:39] the alphabet

[00:00:41] I'm Coban the wound binder my fuse are mighty and I am not above

[00:00:47] Breaking a bone so that I can reset it. I will heal you but I will also unheal you pretty quickly

[00:00:55] Also technically my bodyguard

[00:00:58] but it's more like

[00:01:00] We're like roommates than bodyguards honestly, so can he be your long lost pal?

[00:01:10] And last but certainly not least I

[00:01:14] Am ill defense. I am a private investigator

[00:01:18] here in the city of Eversting and

[00:01:22] That's really all there is to say

[00:01:23] I'm very well liked by the common folk and not so much by the church

[00:01:29] Does the church really like any of us?

[00:01:33] They don't like me because I'm competition and I am basically the main drug dealer for the canal watchers

[00:01:40] But there's a part of you that hates yourself about that there because

[00:01:44] quite frankly any

[00:01:46] Transaction that you do is a prayer to denari so there's a begrudging kind of you're also doing the Lord's work

[00:01:54] Since the Lord is basically commerce. Yeah, not a fan

[00:01:59] Yeah, but hey you got to make it. It's a living blinstone dinosaur gift

[00:02:07] So I think you would pronounce this lady's name like so does someone Facebook belongs to the operating diva

[00:02:14] De Nora to Vani

[00:02:16] De honor to Vani to the honor to Vani. Okay

[00:02:22] Very Italian now this is I'll give this one for you for free

[00:02:26] You all do know

[00:02:28] Kind of like if there's a big game or a big show going on in town typically that like even to where you guys dwell on the streets

[00:02:34] you do catch word of it, you know that there's a

[00:02:38] very popular opera going on and

[00:02:41] And

[00:02:42] The outer hall which is like pretty much the most prestigious district in every sink you all probably

[00:02:49] Yeah, I won't say you do or don't go there, but it's not maybe it's all off the beaten path or what you all do and

[00:02:57] Through the grapevine you do know that tonight is the last

[00:03:02] Performance of an opera that's been going on for several weeks. There's been wildly popular for

[00:03:09] Very different reasons now we have had a

[00:03:13] Moment here, but as you mentioned beforehand has been two months between the last game because life came

[00:03:18] So we're kind of jumping in this brand new so when you're listening to this be aware of that

[00:03:24] Much time has passed. So if there's any discrepancy bring it on father time. So

[00:03:30] This there's been a retcon

[00:03:32] There may be a retcon here and there

[00:03:34] So what if y'all do me a favor real quick

[00:03:38] Why is this the most popular opera in decades?

[00:03:41] think one thing

[00:03:44] What we had figured is that it's kind of a tax write-off

[00:03:50] It's one of those cases where everything about the opera was supposed to go wrong and it still somehow

[00:03:57] Went right so we've got a producer situation on our hands here

[00:04:01] It's an opera about a sad clown who has a talentless

[00:04:07] relationship

[00:04:08] so the diva that got cast was supposed to be a

[00:04:13] talentless

[00:04:14] Singer and we found out by accident that she's actually quite good

[00:04:21] The clown does not portray

[00:04:24] Sad depressed clown as well as he should it's more of a manic depressive clown

[00:04:29] So he's got these really great funny moments

[00:04:34] That would be great if he was a normal clown, but since he's supposed to be a sad clown

[00:04:40] It doesn't add up

[00:04:42] And this this opera would have been amazing if it wasn't portrayed as a tragedy

[00:04:48] Yes, they were aiming for tragedy and they hit comedy by accident

[00:04:53] This is postmodernism

[00:04:55] It's post postmodernism, so we're back at modernism

[00:05:02] Okay, so we kind of so if it was so bad

[00:05:06] It's good and there's some surprising elements to the performances that really

[00:05:11] undermine what the I would I would say play right but it's not a play

[00:05:16] But you know the art of the author's original intentions is my understanding correct in that yes

[00:05:22] The the opera has become amazing in spite of itself

[00:05:27] It's like it's legitimately good just not for the reasons they wanted

[00:05:31] God for some reason you are reminding me of the the musical that

[00:05:36] They supposedly put on in the only murders in the biz at building. I don't know if you've watched that on Hulu

[00:05:43] Not yet, but I want to it's really good

[00:05:46] So what makes this uniquely kind of ever sinkish so to speak so

[00:05:52] What the of the life here in ever sink is it reflected or did it really reach out to these people?

[00:06:00] I mean ever sink is a commerce town

[00:06:02] So at the end of the day everything

[00:06:05] We deal with we'll have to deal with how we interact with the economy

[00:06:10] I like to imagine that the main reason

[00:06:14] Everything is going wrong for this clown is that he owes money or something

[00:06:19] So it always goes back to like

[00:06:22] Loan sharks are out to get me. I need to fix this

[00:06:26] So is is the diva playing the clown?

[00:06:30] The diva is the girlfriend

[00:06:34] Supposedly talentless girlfriend. Yeah, it's actually very talented

[00:06:38] Okay, like I imagine the initial scene was like her completely destroying a

[00:06:44] venue and

[00:06:45] the actual showrunner like refusing to pay

[00:06:49] So there's a lot of spectacle in this hot in this opera here

[00:06:52] What are each one of you one of each one of you all give me some kind of like

[00:06:57] Some kind of gimmick or something that's over the top that it's not it's a great performance

[00:07:02] It's a shitty story that is

[00:07:06] Being made, you know, someone has the mightest touch so to speak and they're turning it into gold here

[00:07:11] But what kind of spectacle do we have going on here?

[00:07:14] Each one of y'all just give me one little little tidbit of that

[00:07:17] They're technically not pyrotechnics because it's alchemy

[00:07:21] But there's alchemical pyrotechnics

[00:07:25] Okay, so they're

[00:07:27] They're actually taking shots at some of the members of nobility by changing a single letter of their name and

[00:07:36] including them in the story

[00:07:38] but the thing that makes it really work is

[00:07:43] That the people that they were taking the shots at actually have a great sense of humor about it and

[00:07:49] Have been showing up on

[00:07:52] Different nights

[00:07:54] Wearing the same costume that the actor who is portraying them on the stage is wearing

[00:07:59] So that's a part of the ever sink life is that it's like wait

[00:08:03] Some of these nobles actually have a good sense of humor about this. I

[00:08:07] Imagine that ever sinks art culture is actually really interesting and self-deprecating

[00:08:13] Okay

[00:08:14] my over the top bit is

[00:08:17] end with a speech about the horrors of

[00:08:22] Materialism, but that's when everybody starts filing out so no one cares and it doesn't

[00:08:27] So no one ever actually lasts the third act

[00:08:35] No, yeah, no one

[00:08:37] Third act you know thing is resolved and then they tell you

[00:08:42] Just you know, this is what the meaning of the play or the of the

[00:08:46] People are just yeah, I'm out

[00:08:49] So like it's like if you're at a like a blowout basketball game where the team you're rooting for is like 40 points ahead

[00:08:56] And there's two minutes ago and you're just like, yeah, I know how this is ending

[00:09:00] You know, I'm just gonna do the my gondola is double-parked

[00:09:05] Dude, I need to be working. I need to be traffic. I

[00:09:10] Can I add to this? I know this is your section, but can I add to what Joe just said here?

[00:09:15] Sure, it's gotten so bad at it to pull at this point

[00:09:18] The actors are already out of costume. Maybe even smoking a cigarette set it up on stage give it a

[00:09:24] Seville a queen like it's a total break in the fourth wall

[00:09:27] Yeah, yeah, yes

[00:09:32] As a fourth wall break like it's post

[00:09:35] final song

[00:09:37] You know final applause and

[00:09:40] And it's a different actor every time

[00:09:43] Because they're really trying to get

[00:09:45] It's whoever people they think people had biggest pop too. So when they send them out

[00:09:49] They're like, ah, they'll stick around for this, but they're wrong every time

[00:09:53] No one cares. Oh man. And like

[00:09:56] The actual playwright himself is trying to argue that this was intentional

[00:10:02] Like, yeah, no, no, this was an intentional art piece. It's like, no, dude. No, dude. You just suck

[00:10:07] It's almost got this rocky horror picture show kind of I do it not saying that sucked but this you know develop

[00:10:13] Oh, that's what I'm going for here

[00:10:16] Well, when I came back on Mike a moment ago after stepping away before we started recording and I heard you talking about clowns

[00:10:23] I think Jesus Christ

[00:10:24] He just shit on the game before he started but no like I'm all forest man. I'm great. So

[00:10:31] Here's the part that I want to kind of

[00:10:33] You guys have to get in here now. It's fairly common knowledge that this thing's been sold out as the popularity of the opera

[00:10:41] As things started breaking down and amazing talent was starting to spring up here and there, you know that miss to viani is actually

[00:10:50] Uh, you know, he's now a rising star in this world and whatnot. Um, you know things started really selling out so you have no

[00:10:59] Regular means of just walking up getting a ticket because they've been sold out weeks in advance definitely for it being the final show

[00:11:07] right

[00:11:08] so what I want you all to kind of be thinking about here is

[00:11:13] Roughly, I'm kind of estimating as time has went by

[00:11:17] throughout the course of the early investigation from the bar

[00:11:21] To the docks to the right to go into the place to the perfume if it was early morning

[00:11:27] We will say that it's maybe like, you know

[00:11:31] To 2 p.m. Or something like that. So I'll say that you all roughly have

[00:11:35] Maybe four hours to make any kind of preparations that you would like to

[00:11:40] Uh, I will go ahead and kind of tell you all that you're you are familiar with kind of the landmark

[00:11:46] like you know

[00:11:48] Where it is you kind of have a rough idea of it

[00:11:50] I mean if you all want to kind of do some investigating or figuring out how you all want to get in there

[00:11:56] That's all up to you. You also need to consider

[00:11:59] What you're going to do once you get in there or you just kind of get in there guns blazing

[00:12:04] You're gonna kill the faceless and prevent what it looks like to be if that's involved like an assassination attempt

[00:12:10] Since an assassin is in there

[00:12:13] Or you know try to figure out what you all want to do. I'll let you all have the table here. So you have

[00:12:19] A few hours

[00:12:21] I will say, you know

[00:12:24] What kind of depending on what you want to do you tell me what you want to do

[00:12:27] I can tell you just how much time has passed. Also, you guys don't have to be working side by side

[00:12:33] So while jose character is doing one thing

[00:12:37] You know david's character could be doing another so the floor is yours gentlemen

[00:12:41] All right, so considering that this is not venice

[00:12:45] um after our amazing gondola heist and

[00:12:50] Pumari, uh, I

[00:12:52] Just lead us all over to a coffee shop so we can talk about it

[00:12:56] Okay, so you're still in the market square. You're at a coffee shop having

[00:13:02] So here's what i'm thinking as far as how are we going to gain entrance?

[00:13:07] Oh, don't worry about that. I got this

[00:13:10] Well, you didn't even hear my idea. Um, I've got a very very lovely idea

[00:13:16] Okay, go for it

[00:13:18] I mean

[00:13:19] Might as well you tell us what your thought is first. Let's let's hear it

[00:13:25] I have

[00:13:26] a client

[00:13:28] Who is willing to barter for tickets?

[00:13:32] So adam should I spend a point of ridiculous luck for that?

[00:13:36] I'm so here david out on his idea too, but I mean, uh, yeah, you can spin ridiculous luck to get in there

[00:13:42] Okay, so yeah, no i'm just like

[00:13:45] so, uh

[00:13:46] Have you heard of

[00:13:50] Masino Masimo Borghaya?

[00:13:53] Never heard of him

[00:13:55] I'm not surprised. Uh, he's a lesser son of one of the borga fout the borga households

[00:14:02] He owes me money

[00:14:04] and I know he wants to talk to me because uh

[00:14:09] He has some very interesting ideas about how you should watch art

[00:14:13] No, please go ahead. Go ahead. What what do you what do you have in mind?

[00:14:17] If we're wanting to

[00:14:19] That's a way that we can get into the theater, but we need to be able to move around a bit

[00:14:24] And that was what I was going to suggest

[00:14:27] We can move around amongst the groundlings by just simply acquiring some fried dough on a stick

[00:14:34] In a fairly decent quantity

[00:14:37] Um strapping a pony keg to my back

[00:14:40] And getting disposable ale horns and just basically pretending to be food and drink vendors and just wandering through the groundlings

[00:14:48] Um, all right. So I unbutton my vest

[00:14:51] Open it up and then pull out a bag of very suspicious looking materials

[00:14:58] i'm good to go there

[00:15:00] I could just uh

[00:15:04] Ask the watch to let us in

[00:15:07] could just ask

[00:15:10] They're they're not huge fans of me

[00:15:12] little pato

[00:15:14] But they are they're gonna be much greater fans of you when you smuggle those drugs in

[00:15:20] But now uh, however we get in here is fine with me

[00:15:24] all right

[00:15:25] Well, um, I'll see what I can do to see if I can get some

[00:15:29] slightly more legitimate tickets

[00:15:32] Go man. I think that's a good idea that you see if you can like talk to uh the vendors

[00:15:38] ponzo

[00:15:40] You can convince the watch to uh ignore me

[00:15:45] Do it do it, man

[00:15:47] We can kind of like between the three of us

[00:15:49] We could just take a triple pronged approach and everybody get in their own way

[00:15:53] And then once we're in we just get into position and we get close to the um

[00:15:59] Get close to the stage however we can

[00:16:01] All right, so out of character. We don't have tacnet

[00:16:04] So we will need to have like a location where we all meet up

[00:16:08] Uh in character. Um, well, yeah that that makes sense

[00:16:13] Is there like a coat check or something?

[00:16:15] It's been a while since I've been in the opera house

[00:16:18] I think that if we get to the wings stage left

[00:16:21] We'll be able to see the entire stage and most of the pit

[00:16:26] So that's that's our goal is we want to get backstage

[00:16:30] Um

[00:16:30] All right, out of character. I now assume it is canon that coven has been to the opera more than anyone else

[00:16:36] Oh

[00:16:37] It's the opera is a great

[00:16:39] A great work of art in his homeland. He's very familiar

[00:16:46] They need somebody to help um in case there are any like weird issues like any strange injuries

[00:16:52] You understand that that whole break a leg thing while it is um

[00:16:59] Thought to be lucky. It's really not great when they actually do it

[00:17:04] So I've had to set a number of bones before and

[00:17:08] I I've got a suit that's just all black so that I can just kind of

[00:17:13] Puppet the performers around when they absolutely have to

[00:17:17] I've been called upon a time

[00:17:20] Cobam the wound binder theater barbarian

[00:17:24] The show must go on

[00:17:27] This show must go on to the lamentations of the women

[00:17:31] All right, anyways, so

[00:17:35] Uh kevin colton the book

[00:17:36] He wouldn't mention this place by name

[00:17:39] But he says just for an idea of what it looks like just google the world's outer software house

[00:17:44] which

[00:17:45] This is it right here the uh

[00:17:49] treat to desan

[00:17:51] Carl teatro de san carlo. Yeah

[00:17:54] So that's kind of what gonna be basing all this off. So I've just kind of pasted to chat

[00:18:00] Front facade like I said you guys would have

[00:18:03] Be fairly familiar

[00:18:06] There's everything kind of that's not the best picture of it, but let me see

[00:18:10] If I can find one that actually shows the front there's like if you're going into the front gate

[00:18:15] Area you can kind of see

[00:18:17] There's four entrance or like five entrances there

[00:18:21] You can kind of I'm trying to pull up a little bit better picture and all that so I mean

[00:18:27] As far as entry points go and that you know, you could be walking through that particular

[00:18:34] You're going to have to go through one of those five like little

[00:18:36] Holes that just pasted a better picture up right there

[00:18:40] So you're kind of you know, it's kind of gated in and you're going to go through there like that

[00:18:46] So I'm getting kind of some mixed signals here if you guys want to all go in with one of those

[00:18:52] Calls, it's good

[00:18:54] Oh, um, I actually think uh, we're probably gonna go the three prong just approach but adam

[00:19:01] I would like to make this a suggestion

[00:19:03] To make life a little bit easier between the players

[00:19:06] Yeah, it's totally fine. Please ever sink has a courier network

[00:19:11] Her work. Yeah that way we like we may not be able to talk to each other

[00:19:16] directly, but we can at least

[00:19:18] Give everyone an idea of what we're up to

[00:19:21] I or sorry kid to slip each other notes. Yeah

[00:19:24] Yeah, exactly like we just know all the orphans

[00:19:28] I mean

[00:19:31] Brandon's not a

[00:19:33] Like not an up and up individual. Of course. I know some sketchy people

[00:19:38] And I got one other kind of question to that

[00:19:41] I mean you all kind of already got an idea of roughly what how you're going to get in there unless you're wanting to wing it once you get in there

[00:19:48] Like what's your ultimate goal here? Like, uh, what do you plan on doing?

[00:19:54] Ideally, I would like to get a hold of the faceless

[00:19:59] before the place before the opera starts

[00:20:03] and see what we can do to help this person because uh

[00:20:07] I don't know about y'all, but

[00:20:10] red is due

[00:20:12] Yeah, uh

[00:20:14] My i'm back three months

[00:20:16] I keep having to save this old lady's cat. I'm not loving it

[00:20:21] Okay, so we're going for the nonviolent approach great. What about um

[00:20:28] So you all just want to talk to her or it I guess that's kind of

[00:20:33] And maybe ask it to give back the face or like are you going to try to get her like, you know, so what past that like

[00:20:42] Well, we should we should figure out why

[00:20:45] This face was stolen. Yes because that will help and

[00:20:50] I feel like

[00:20:51] if

[00:20:52] We're going to ask politely

[00:20:54] Then we're going to ask slightly less politely

[00:20:57] And then if we have to bargain, we will have to bargain but if it doesn't want to give the face back

[00:21:03] Violence is on the table. It is the last option, but it is an option. I'm I'm just saying

[00:21:11] We're either going to give it or it's either going to give the face back

[00:21:15] Or we'll take it

[00:21:17] I admittedly have to use blood for a lot of things, but I'm not

[00:21:21] A huge fan of blood so I'll leave that to you cobin

[00:21:25] I think I asked just beforehand. Does anybody have monstrosities?

[00:21:29] Yes

[00:21:30] I mean

[00:21:32] So how does he how do these things work?

[00:21:34] Yeah

[00:21:35] So you already know from beforehand that the face is not magically

[00:21:41] Because it's not so sure but the face is taken from the person and if the the faceless dies

[00:21:46] The person's just going to basically

[00:21:48] Dive uh thirst

[00:21:51] So, you know not a very pleasant death and stuff like that. So

[00:21:55] um

[00:21:56] If one of you guys would give me a

[00:22:00] Uh

[00:22:02] monstrosity

[00:22:02] spend

[00:22:04] Done. I'll give you a bit more. Okay

[00:22:06] So here's the deal with the faceless if it the faceless

[00:22:10] You've got two options the way you see it

[00:22:13] Killing is not an option because the person as I mentioned beforehand dies

[00:22:17] if you

[00:22:18] You have to get the faceless

[00:22:20] Back, you know, they have to go back to the person and give them their face back

[00:22:26] Or and this is where your monstrosity now it really kicks in here

[00:22:31] If the faceless takes another face

[00:22:34] then

[00:22:35] the

[00:22:36] Original person will be freed

[00:22:39] So

[00:22:40] You either need to you know

[00:22:42] Get them back to the body

[00:22:44] To give it back

[00:22:46] Or you've got to give them another face

[00:22:49] And then you know it frees

[00:22:52] Uh miss to be ony now

[00:22:55] You know, you've got a whole different bag of worms there on the other side, but those are

[00:22:59] You know those are knowledge that's knowledge that you possess with this monstrosity

[00:23:04] point

[00:23:05] I don't know if that changes anything or if I just wasted your point. Oh, no, no, that's

[00:23:10] No, I'm thinking

[00:23:12] I think your brain is working the same way mine is

[00:23:15] Do we have somebody that we dislike that we can just

[00:23:19] Sack up and drag along

[00:23:23] Hmm a foul guy well

[00:23:26] I do notice that we all have a mutual enemy with the church of snarie

[00:23:31] Yeah, but uh

[00:23:33] They got ways of finding stuff out

[00:23:35] And how many people do we want to get tortured before they come back to us?

[00:23:40] Yeah, no, that's frankly anybody we slap this plate this

[00:23:44] Slap on this faceless is is gonna have

[00:23:48] That our enemies of ours is gonna have friends probably

[00:23:51] And if they don't have friends then they're probably already dead

[00:23:55] Yeah, that's that's fair. We we don't want to slap this on anyone else. Do we?

[00:24:01] We really don't

[00:24:02] No, but it sounds awful. Frankly. It sounds pretty awful to do regardless

[00:24:07] It would be a way to borrow

[00:24:10] It would be a way to

[00:24:12] deal with the

[00:24:14] situation with the diva temporarily, but if we were to say

[00:24:18] grab that acolyte of the church and

[00:24:22] Have that person's face gets stolen

[00:24:25] Then we could point the church at the faceless

[00:24:29] Just a thought

[00:24:31] Okay, I'm not saying it can't be done. But you know

[00:24:35] All right, um, I'm a little high

[00:24:40] But I have an idea

[00:24:43] I trust you to

[00:24:45] Will you take care of me

[00:24:48] I know we trained your face for this thing

[00:24:51] I believe you can get it back

[00:24:53] You're both you're both smart people

[00:24:55] What if we could get it back how the hell why would why would we do use the middleman?

[00:25:02] Get it back

[00:25:05] Yeah, that's that's the point

[00:25:09] The funds are high

[00:25:11] Yeah

[00:25:12] Yeah, I know you're right. I'm a little high

[00:25:15] Rather noble though

[00:25:17] Uh, you know, that's how I know he's I did mean

[00:25:20] You know the funds, you know like it's how the narrator has been narrating this to you here, you know

[00:25:26] And you heard coban go go over everything with

[00:25:31] The abilities of the faceless and how that the options that you have and stuff like that

[00:25:36] Uh, I think you're and this may be something I want you all to tell me if I'm if I've stepped too far out of bounds and all that

[00:25:44] I just

[00:25:45] I wonder if uh, I said that you had to get them to the body

[00:25:50] So

[00:25:51] I mean you all may be overlooking it. You all do what you want to but oh no

[00:25:55] No, my logic was basically having them switch faces then fucking

[00:26:00] Kidnapping that person

[00:26:02] Bringing them to the body

[00:26:04] Mm-hmm

[00:26:04] You can all get the body to the to the faceless as another option

[00:26:09] That'd be harder that that'd be you know, if you were lugging somebody wrapped up in a carpet

[00:26:16] And into into an opera house that would be much more difficult as well

[00:26:24] Cobam

[00:26:25] Yeah

[00:26:26] Do you think you can get the body?

[00:26:29] For um

[00:26:31] For the diva. Yes

[00:26:33] we've got her

[00:26:35] We've got her unconscious and

[00:26:38] At the inn so it's easy enough to pick her up

[00:26:43] Defonso you said you have some ties to the watch

[00:26:47] Uh, yeah. Yeah, they owe me a couple favors

[00:26:50] You want to put one of those in?

[00:26:53] Because I have an idea

[00:26:55] Okay, what's it for

[00:26:57] So you you know how I mentioned that one of my clients is a borga?

[00:27:02] Yeah

[00:27:04] I think we can work with this

[00:27:07] Out of character what I'm suggesting is that we basically do a drug sting on this guy

[00:27:13] And blackmail him into letting us bring a carpet with a corpse in it

[00:27:18] Into the building

[00:27:20] There's so much corruption going on here that

[00:27:23] Oh that that how we're gonna get the faceless to trade back

[00:27:27] I just kind of look over at coban

[00:27:30] Look back

[00:27:31] Look at cobin's muffle. I'm breaking limbs. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. All right. All right

[00:27:38] I guarantee you if I start you can have no face so you could have no arms, which isn't gonna be all right. I get it

[00:27:45] He could live a very long time with only one leg

[00:27:48] All right. Uh, yeah, this is why I have to pay your salary coban

[00:27:54] All right, so uh, let's break it up. Um,

[00:27:58] It's about two o'clock now

[00:28:01] I'll send a courier out around four tell you all what i'm up to

[00:28:05] Uh, do me the favor do the same thing

[00:28:09] Red william is a very good courier. He's fast. So just keep that in mind

[00:28:13] Seems like we got a plan here everybody on board with that

[00:28:17] So to speak

[00:28:17] Absolutely

[00:28:18] Yeah, get her in

[00:28:22] Corner the faceless

[00:28:24] Threaten them with physical violence

[00:28:26] Perhaps perform physical violence upon it

[00:28:29] Get him to switch back

[00:28:31] Get paid. Oh, don't worry. I can I can also drug the shit out of them

[00:28:35] Like we can we can ask politely first. Well, I mean, yes

[00:28:41] We can try bargaining and if that fails

[00:28:44] I will sell him back the use of his limbs

[00:28:48] I mean, I was going to suggest mk ultra first, but

[00:28:54] All right, so who wants to take the lead next

[00:28:57] We'll go pick up our auge new

[00:28:59] That won't take long

[00:29:01] No

[00:29:02] And so we were gonna have uh making sure i'm 100 clear and as you were gonna say that

[00:29:09] Ildefonse was going to spend a point of his contacts with the city guard

[00:29:14] to

[00:29:16] Just gain entrance in

[00:29:18] Yeah, so while to to get let

[00:29:21] for us to get in

[00:29:22] For us to get this carpet with an unconscious woman in it

[00:29:27] Inside yeah, basically i'm trying to convince you to use your

[00:29:32] contacts with the city guard to

[00:29:35] basically plant evidence on this guy

[00:29:38] Which I will use to then get a carpet into the uh opera

[00:29:42] Sounds cool. Can I ask you all a personal question real quick?

[00:29:46] like was uh me just throwing that out there because none of this is written in this scenario is is

[00:29:52] Uh, it was that like crossing the line or anything like that they're throwing that kind of gm advice out there

[00:29:59] Oh, we're good. No. Yeah

[00:30:01] Okay

[00:30:03] That's that's cool. I just wanted to make sure I do that stuff all the time

[00:30:06] Like if I think the players are really losing the plot and be like hey, maybe you want to try this

[00:30:13] Yeah, no just give advice sometimes. That's okay. That's cool. That's the gm's job too

[00:30:18] Yeah, part of me wants us to what kind of cabinet can we reek if you're gonna be

[00:30:22] making

[00:30:23] Rates in the heat with the church kind of deal

[00:30:27] So, okay, we're cool

[00:30:29] So why don't you all go ahead and narrow narrow rate for me what you're doing like whatever kind of preparations we'll say

[00:30:36] Uh, what Chris, what do you think's a good hour?

[00:30:38] Are you gonna try to get there maybe two hours if the search is six and it's two o'clock right now

[00:30:42] When do you want everybody to kind of reconvene?

[00:30:45] ideally

[00:30:47] um, I want us to have a courier response by four and maybe if we can get back together around like six or seven

[00:30:55] That would be perfect

[00:30:57] so then

[00:30:59] Are you trying to catch it before the opera starts?

[00:31:02] More or less. Yes. Um, I'm usually starting at nine

[00:31:04] So like we want to be uh, we want to nip it in the bud

[00:31:09] Mm-hmm

[00:31:11] Now, uh, david, I believe you want to take the first thing

[00:31:14] Actually, I have a slight modification to it because I just realized I can kill two birds with one stone

[00:31:21] so i'm going to put together the catering cart

[00:31:24] And you know, basically go to the backstage entrance

[00:31:28] and

[00:31:29] Alter it to be craft services

[00:31:31] But the catering cart is also going to have our ingenue underneath

[00:31:37] With the tablecloth down on the side

[00:31:40] I know

[00:31:41] It's a

[00:31:42] It's an old trope, but it still works. It's cliche, but hey it

[00:31:47] What works works?

[00:31:49] But with that in mind, I'm gonna see if I can scare up a catering uniform because I know that they've got a certain

[00:31:56] Library and so see if I can find

[00:31:59] Find a rather large caterer and just hey dude

[00:32:04] Why don't you take the night off?

[00:32:06] Hey, man, is that gonna be I know this

[00:32:09] I know this guy named I know this guy named brand of vitriol. He'll give you a good night if you give me your clothing

[00:32:15] or less

[00:32:17] Let's let's see if I can bribe him. It's like apes

[00:32:20] in your best terminator and your best terminator terminator to

[00:32:24] Kind of like how do you get the cart? I need your cart

[00:32:29] your apron

[00:32:30] I need your clothes and your boots and your motorcycle

[00:32:37] I think I'm gonna start with the

[00:32:39] Well, I'm gonna walk up to him

[00:32:41] Just size him up just clap him on the shoulder measure and make sure that he looks about right and while he's confused

[00:32:47] Just

[00:32:48] You are just the person I have been looking for. I need to borrow your suit

[00:32:52] I need to borrow your cart

[00:32:54] and

[00:32:55] I need for you to enjoy a night off with full pay

[00:33:00] And now I'm just hearing David singing in the background. I want to take you to the gay bar gay bar

[00:33:07] What kind of points manager you're gonna make?

[00:33:10] See let's go with charb. I actually do have charb. Let's try that one first

[00:33:15] like look

[00:33:16] everybody could use a night off and uh

[00:33:20] When was the last time that you got to spend a night with that special someone?

[00:33:25] uh brand of vitriol sends his regards

[00:33:28] With this lovely care package for you and the

[00:33:33] Mrs

[00:33:36] Yeah, go ahead mark to spend

[00:33:38] it's

[00:33:39] It borderline the intimidation check too just given your size, but I mean the guy's gonna get a nice recreational

[00:33:47] Uh evening off. Uh, you are gonna give me back my cart, right?

[00:33:51] Oh, oh, yeah. I mean it's gonna be completely undamaged

[00:33:54] Look, I just got to do a thing and um

[00:33:58] I'm gonna level with you

[00:34:00] This is me trying to be nice. This is me trying to bargain

[00:34:05] And this is me trying to do my level best to not threaten to break your kneecaps

[00:34:11] Because I figure that you're a working man and you could really really use your knees tomorrow

[00:34:16] I mean, I don't want to hurt you but that's option b

[00:34:20] so

[00:34:21] Let's make the night easier for both of us and why don't you just take option a

[00:34:25] And then nobody has to break anything no carts no knees no faces

[00:34:31] The temperature has dropped in this room by about 10 degrees

[00:34:37] All right

[00:34:39] Well, you know wordlessly he takes off his apron

[00:34:43] He, uh closes the the lid on whatever you know, whatever kind of wears he had set aside there

[00:34:51] He lays it on there. It's like, uh, thank you and then scurries away

[00:34:56] To the point that he almost forgets the drugs until you're like hey, hey, and you know, you shake the little baggy and you know

[00:35:04] Kind of

[00:35:04] And I won't forget this man

[00:35:09] I really appreciate what you're doing for me tonight

[00:35:13] I'm gonna owe you a favor

[00:35:14] So the next time that you have a bone that is broken and needs to be set you come see me

[00:35:20] I'll do it for free or

[00:35:23] If you're just in so much pain and I can't help you talk to brand

[00:35:28] Or conversely if you need a bone to be broken

[00:35:33] You let me know and I will break that bone for you

[00:35:37] And it doesn't have to be one of yours

[00:35:40] I provide multiple services and you get a freebie

[00:35:44] Oh much appreciated much appreciated. I hopefully won't need one after

[00:35:48] Need this freebie after a little miss to you but

[00:35:51] Uh, thank you kind of grabs a bag and

[00:35:55] scurries away

[00:35:57] Hey, uh, Joe is the eltophonist is he

[00:36:00] Are you going to do anything prior to?

[00:36:03] Getting in there or are you just kind of are you going to kind of go to

[00:36:07] Go about the the venue first maybe try to figure out if you were going to arrange for a way in like what were you thinking on that aspect?

[00:36:14] Reminder I did ask you specifically to talk to your watch buddies

[00:36:18] So we could pin a crime on this guy

[00:36:22] Joe if you're there you're muted

[00:36:24] We can go ahead and cut over you then brand. Okay

[00:36:28] Sure

[00:36:29] What what's your plans right now? So

[00:36:32] Um, I'm headed to town. There's some scheming. Yep. I I am heading uptown to spot to speak to uh, one of my top clients

[00:36:40] A mr. Heronis borga

[00:36:43] He always has tickets to the opera and he likes me

[00:36:47] So I am going to abuse the shit out of him

[00:36:51] Where are you gonna? Where do you find mr. Borke at?

[00:36:54] Uh, he's uptown. Um, I will say he is not at his house at the moment

[00:37:01] He is at a trendy and a little

[00:37:06] controversial cafe

[00:37:08] controversial cat cafe

[00:37:10] Well, just cafe but it could be a cat cafe too

[00:37:14] I do like cats

[00:37:17] Okay, so, you know kind of past where you this is where you can do mushrooms with cats. Mmm

[00:37:24] That time

[00:37:27] So you get your own they're on catnip and you're on catnip. You know some sort

[00:37:32] Okay, I hashbar essentially. Yeah, it this is amsterdam basically. Yeah, okay

[00:37:38] so not the

[00:37:40] Not the uh most uh

[00:37:43] High of uh establishments or this part of town. Well, it's a very high establishment if you give what I'm saying here

[00:37:50] But you know, you're kind of going more toward the

[00:37:54] Working class district for this here. It's trendy but controversial. It's getting gentrified basically

[00:38:02] Don't you hate it when that happens

[00:38:04] so

[00:38:05] You go to you go to the final establishment a cats and hash

[00:38:10] Or whatever you want to call it. What's the call chris? I think I'm not good names. You named a podcast

[00:38:16] Perfect day and that's pu rr. Oh my god. This is why I'm relying you so much. Yes

[00:38:22] You're at the perfect day you walk in

[00:38:25] The little bell that's hooked to the door ding-dings cast look up at you wide eyes

[00:38:31] patrons that are tripping balls look up at you wild eyed

[00:38:35] And there is mr. Borga

[00:38:38] hero

[00:38:40] ronimus

[00:38:42] Mus hey man been a while

[00:38:44] And he stands up from his corner booth where there's a nice really friendly fruffy

[00:38:50] Tavi boy sitting there that he was patting on the cat

[00:38:53] He kind of staggers a little bit grabs the back of it here here come come have a seat

[00:38:59] What can I do for you on this?

[00:39:01] Her and he tries to row his heart, but he can't row his heart because your GM can't row his heart

[00:39:07] day

[00:39:08] Oh, I'm actually here to do you a favor ma'am

[00:39:12] I like favors. What is this favor? Good man

[00:39:16] Uh

[00:39:18] I look around

[00:39:19] I pick up the cutest get my find

[00:39:22] look

[00:39:23] uh, mr. Borga in the eye

[00:39:25] Can we find a

[00:39:27] A quieter spot to talk about this?

[00:39:30] This is for your own sake

[00:39:32] Oh one of those kind of favors is it? Hmm

[00:39:36] Oh see

[00:39:38] I guess I know these people here one moment

[00:39:41] He stares up out of his seat your left petting. What is totally not my cat?

[00:39:46] Mayor butters and the bar top

[00:39:49] Or a tabletop

[00:39:50] My daughter looks at me weird now

[00:39:53] That's that but

[00:39:55] Anyway, so he gets up walks off walks over to the the bar top or the bar area

[00:40:01] Speaks to somebody gets an eye. He kind of

[00:40:05] Waves I'm waving my hand at you as you're in Louisville, chris. You can't see it

[00:40:08] But I totally did like the hand motion in your general direction

[00:40:12] Okay. Oh, yes. Yes. We can we can go back here. This is uh

[00:40:17] It's

[00:40:18] It's a little uh, it's a privy of sorts. It's and he takes you back to basically the cat's bathroom

[00:40:23] There's a back room that's just you know litter boxes

[00:40:27] It's just full of litter boxes and like bags of cat food

[00:40:31] It's got a weird aroma. I mean the place smells good. You're also getting

[00:40:36] You know how that artificial trash bags is supposed to smell good, but you sometimes wonder if you'd be better off to smell on the damn trash

[00:40:44] Yes, adam. I am aware you are married to a vet tech

[00:40:51] Well pharmacy, but all right pharmacy tech, but still yeah, but she hates trash bags that smell bad

[00:40:58] All right. Yeah, I've seen the trash bags, but anyway chris. So you're standing amongst there. There's a few cats in there

[00:41:04] You know how

[00:41:06] Hey hero, um

[00:41:08] I normally don't do this with my clients, but you're important

[00:41:13] And I want to make sure you're a good client going forward

[00:41:16] So i'm here to do you a favor

[00:41:18] Mm-hmm

[00:41:20] Here's the thing though

[00:41:22] I don't do favors we live in eversync

[00:41:25] So this is tit for tat

[00:41:27] I'm afraid of what did you want for that tat?

[00:41:31] I

[00:41:33] Want to see the opera tonight

[00:41:36] And there's a very very nice carpet i'm working with here that I want to bring in so I can show to uh

[00:41:42] The ajanoo

[00:41:44] now

[00:41:45] That being said that's all I want to do. It's a very simple job very very very minor favor

[00:41:51] how

[00:41:52] What do you think the watch knows about you man?

[00:41:57] What hoped that they know absolutely nothing about me

[00:42:01] I would hope so too. I am very very quiet about my client list

[00:42:09] I have a friend though who is friends with some folks on the watch

[00:42:15] Your name's been coming up buddy

[00:42:18] Really?

[00:42:19] Yeah, the postures

[00:42:22] I know I know it is but here's the thing

[00:42:26] I can help make this go away. I just need to make sure you're willing to help me with my favor

[00:42:32] Which is

[00:42:33] I need tickets to the opera and I need to bring a

[00:42:40] A carpet inside so I can show it to the head

[00:42:44] The lead diva let's say it that way

[00:42:49] I'm downloading your character sheet right now just to take a look and see exactly what you have to to spend with this so

[00:42:56] Oh, this is scurrilous rumors. This is clearly scurrilous rumors

[00:43:00] Let me check something here real quick. I am just straight up fucking with the rumor mill right now

[00:43:07] How the fuck is that download?

[00:43:09] Okay, basically you're saying hey did you hear that rumor that the watch is looking into you?

[00:43:14] The rumor that I literally just started

[00:43:17] The rumor that I can start and can keep going because I'm apparently the main rumor mill in my entire fucking neighborhood

[00:43:26] Everybody looks up and grand tells you something. It's real

[00:43:30] Let me look up

[00:43:32] Real quicker make sure that fits man. It won't take a second. Yeah, no dear thing

[00:43:37] it's just like he's he's always very fair about his pricing and

[00:43:43] He never tries to screw any on it went over

[00:43:45] So obviously when he says something

[00:43:49] He's probably not lying

[00:43:51] Okay, so scurrilous rumor is bribery gossip and whispered secrets you help

[00:43:57] To help you learn what others have done. So you're basically going to

[00:44:02] You're telling him I know what you did last summer so to speak

[00:44:07] More or less like yeah, I know what you did and I know that the watch is looking into it

[00:44:14] I can help you make it disappear. Just give me a hand man

[00:44:18] That's all

[00:44:19] Okay, you're good. Good. You're a good guy. I like you but like help me out here

[00:44:25] So you had dirt on him and yeah, you're essentially third and that you're gonna let the watch know I got it

[00:44:30] Oh, yeah, no, no, this is all in character too. Like hey, man. I'm trying to help you

[00:44:36] Oh

[00:44:38] Hmm

[00:44:39] Like I really wish that you went about this in a bit different way. I'm I've already made plans

[00:44:45] I was going to take the missus and the kids

[00:44:47] I know hero. I'm sorry, dude, but like

[00:44:52] this kind of

[00:44:53] Dropped on me and I I would rather just tell you right now when it's a shock to me

[00:45:00] As opposed to when it's going to be a shock to you and things are so much worse

[00:45:06] This isn't so much of a perfect day. Now is it? And he

[00:45:11] Reaches into his coat pocket you kind of tense for a brief second

[00:45:16] Like if I push this man too far

[00:45:19] and then he pulls out an envelope

[00:45:22] and just

[00:45:23] you know

[00:45:25] Hands like

[00:45:26] Flip some in his wrist your way doesn't throw them and then just kind of looks looks away looks down at the

[00:45:32] litter box is

[00:45:34] I

[00:45:36] I

[00:45:37] Appreciate your discretion because sir don't worry hero. I'll take care of you. You're my friend. I like you

[00:45:44] Oh, by the way, um

[00:45:47] Next week I should have your favorite in stock

[00:45:51] Uh, yes, yes, uh

[00:45:53] It doesn't seem overwhelmed by the hook that you have him on

[00:45:58] And he's yes, uh, I well

[00:46:02] Maybe we'll see each other next week. So I'm sorry it was so dark bud

[00:46:08] Thank you

[00:46:09] I'll be back

[00:46:11] And I'll have something nice for you

[00:46:13] Moving on

[00:46:15] I like the idea of the scene ends with you walking out of the

[00:46:19] at the privy room closing the door

[00:46:22] and it's just him just looking at

[00:46:24] All the clumps in the litter boxes and just

[00:46:27] With this fuck me look on his face. He's like, oh man

[00:46:31] I screwed up

[00:46:34] Joe you'll depends. I see that you have returned sir

[00:46:37] Yes

[00:46:39] And how did you want to go about this? Did you want did you had anything you wanted to do or did you want to go?

[00:46:45] and

[00:46:45] Steak out the the opera place maybe go ahead and do your contacts thing like where you want to do it

[00:46:50] I'm gonna do my contacts thing

[00:46:52] Okay

[00:46:53] So that's an actual favor though

[00:46:56] Looking at the character sheet. I think you just basically there's a spot on it where we would mark it almost as like

[00:47:04] See

[00:47:05] Well on the sheets that we're using yeah favors and grudges

[00:47:10] Yeah

[00:47:11] You just go ahead and

[00:47:12] you know

[00:47:14] If we were using red markets terminology, I think that at this point is kind of makes you um

[00:47:20] That's kind of this dependence needy now

[00:47:23] Now you've done something for them or you they've done something for you. Okay, so mechanical. Yes, right. Yeah

[00:47:30] so

[00:47:31] Kind of thinking back to that picture that I posted in the chat earlier

[00:47:36] of the the theater

[00:47:38] You know you make it you had to take a gondola

[00:47:42] Thanks, you know

[00:47:43] Maybe 20 minutes to get up there, but you're back. You're at the opera. You're standing outside now

[00:47:49] There's something I want to kind of point out to you

[00:47:52] Even at you know, we'll say roughly it's you know

[00:47:56] 2 30 3 o'clock kind of stuff like this time of day

[00:47:59] They're you know, they're starting already to be a bustle about it

[00:48:02] of

[00:48:03] If you've been to any concert

[00:48:06] whatsoever

[00:48:07] In your life, which I'm sure most of us has or you do see those people ticket tickets. I got tickets

[00:48:13] I mean I need tickets kind of you know the scalpers

[00:48:16] Alper is trying

[00:48:18] Trying to you see a lot of those but

[00:48:20] You have to look very far for the watch to be honest with you because what you see is

[00:48:27] The watch there's several members. I mean it's a big area

[00:48:30] that you see

[00:48:32] Many clusters of them and they're definitely they're gathered. There's some gathered around the

[00:48:38] Each of the entry points those five entry points to the actual opera house

[00:48:44] There and you see at each of these entry points

[00:48:48] There's a team of two

[00:48:50] And each team has a dog

[00:48:53] So

[00:48:54] You could definitely you know make your way up to one. I'd say with this you're you kind of

[00:49:00] With your contacts, you do recognize somebody who's stuck on shit duty

[00:49:05] right

[00:49:06] John Carlo Johnny

[00:49:09] Oh the funds. How are you doing sir?

[00:49:13] I'm all right john so uh

[00:49:15] See I got me in this rug and I need I need to get in there

[00:49:19] Uh, I don't have a ticket

[00:49:22] But it's very important

[00:49:24] That I get in there

[00:49:25] I love how your character sheet that i'm having trouble locating at this exact moment has listed at the bottom of it

[00:49:34] A commendation from the city watch so

[00:49:37] Yeah

[00:49:39] So

[00:49:41] Oh, I mean that's that's a bit of a tall order. I do you mind if I ask why?

[00:49:46] I mean we're getting a lot of strange orders around here lately

[00:49:49] All right, john lean close closely and close. I don't want this getting out

[00:49:53] All right, he leans in

[00:49:54] There's a faceless

[00:49:56] Situation i'm dealing with and i'm gonna try and resolve it without anybody having to die

[00:50:01] so uh

[00:50:03] You know if I could just get in there

[00:50:05] And deal with the situation

[00:50:07] It won't be a whole big stink

[00:50:10] but if I don't then

[00:50:12] Certain famous individuals will probably perish and then there's gonna be a whole big investigation and and

[00:50:18] Out of this happen, you know, you guys are gonna get blamed church will take over more of your authority

[00:50:26] Etc so

[00:50:29] You know and of course I would owe you a favor

[00:50:34] That you would look like I said, there's some weird stuff going on here. I don't exactly know

[00:50:40] It hasn't made it down the chain of command, but

[00:50:43] you know

[00:50:44] He kind of pats the dog's head

[00:50:47] yeah, we've uh

[00:50:49] This kind of tracks of what uh my sense is for telling me

[00:50:53] So look you all come

[00:50:55] When you and your crew come come here to this gate

[00:50:59] um

[00:51:00] I'll let you on through now look that

[00:51:03] I have faith in you. I trust you you've done you always done right by the watch

[00:51:07] but

[00:51:08] Once you're inside there

[00:51:10] We're on our own. I got it. I don't know you. I don't know anybody

[00:51:14] Yeah

[00:51:15] right

[00:51:16] All right

[00:51:17] I have I have faith in you man. Just however if anything gets a little hairy like

[00:51:22] You don't have to be uh

[00:51:25] Johan

[00:51:27] Rambini after I don't know I was gonna say john rambo, but

[00:51:31] Can we make that canon that there's a yo-han rambini rambini? Yeah

[00:51:35] Yeah, yeah, we don't know it's it's literally just john rambo

[00:51:39] It's not your hand rambini. It's literally just john rambo

[00:51:43] So yeah, you've you've totally you've got a way in

[00:51:47] Now i'm gonna step away real quick guys. I apologize my cat was trying to perform a biblical miracle

[00:51:52] And by biblical miracle, I mean

[00:51:55] The cat is sitting or taking its empty water bow

[00:51:58] Swatting it around the floor and then looking in it to see if water has material

[00:52:03] Miracle materialized in it. Yeah

[00:52:05] Yeah, so

[00:52:06] Not quite crashed with the loaves of bread, but I'll be right back. Okay guys

[00:52:12] fair

[00:52:13] Oh man, just all of our all of our plans coming together is going to break so fucking bad

[00:52:20] Yeah, well, what are you gonna do? It's a one shot

[00:52:24] yep

[00:52:25] Like david's just like i'm gonna go for the practical plan

[00:52:28] Meanwhile, I'm like i'm just going to twist the arm of every single rich person

[00:52:32] I know until they do what I tell them to

[00:52:35] I forget which um

[00:52:38] Actually, no, I think it was a nod wick comic a long time ago

[00:52:43] It's like, you know, the thieves guild could get entry into so many places if they just invested in

[00:52:49] A shitload of blue coveralls that said al on them

[00:52:53] Oh for sure

[00:52:55] Nobody ever looks at the technicians and nobody ever looks at the janitors

[00:53:00] They just assume that these people are here to do the jobs

[00:53:04] And you can accomplish more by just kind of going all right

[00:53:07] You don't want me to go in that's fine. I'll just cross you off the list. It's like no no no no

[00:53:13] We're gonna let you in we're just gonna make a note of it

[00:53:16] Yeah, meanwhile brand is just like trying to

[00:53:20] lever social influence

[00:53:22] In the dumbest way possible

[00:53:25] I never was in a fraternity

[00:53:27] But I did manage to sneak into a fraternity a fraternity party once or twice in college by

[00:53:33] Whenever the band showed up

[00:53:35] I would walk I would of course. I knew a lot of people played music anyway

[00:53:39] I would just walk up with them grab an amp and carry it inside the place and

[00:53:44] People just assume you're the roadie

[00:53:46] It works

[00:53:48] I mean adam you do look like a roadie

[00:53:50] Yeah, yeah, I totally do

[00:53:52] I really do now. I'm in my 40s and long hair and look like I'm holding on to the back on days

[00:54:00] I wouldn't say that but yeah

[00:54:02] All right. Anyways, moving back

[00:54:06] Hey guys, I acquired a caterer's uniform

[00:54:09] And it's not even blood spattered this time

[00:54:11] Hey

[00:54:13] Lack of blood splatter approved

[00:54:16] You get a message from like

[00:54:19] William the poor

[00:54:21] Just from brand that just says I have tickets

[00:54:24] You know, we didn't even give this operation a cool name

[00:54:28] I feel like we're falling down on our jobs as adventurers to not

[00:54:32] Give the entry plan a cool name

[00:54:35] This is not a plan

[00:54:37] This is what we're doing. Let's just keep moving forward. This is not some big conspiracy

[00:54:44] Conspiracies are bad y'all

[00:54:46] Yeah, I guess you're right anti conspiracy. Oh, yes now we can

[00:54:51] No

[00:54:52] Yeah, looks like we kind of got all of our ducks in a row. I mean

[00:54:56] Y'all want to go straight to the same again go straight to getting into the opera or

[00:55:01] I'm down with that. Um, we should probably go straight to the

[00:55:06] Getting the corpse

[00:55:09] Yes

[00:55:09] Wow

[00:55:15] That's a scene though is what I'm saying

[00:55:18] Well, I've got her already like wet picked her up changed clothes

[00:55:23] She's she's in the bottom of the catering cart, dude. How did you carry that through the entire fucking city?

[00:55:31] Listen the carpet is very powerful

[00:55:36] You just walk around with the roll-up carpet nobody fucked with it

[00:55:39] I I just need like I need someone to say why that's okay

[00:55:46] And i'm just like oh

[00:55:48] Okay, I'm just gonna

[00:55:51] Walk past carrying her openly for a moment and just

[00:55:55] Look at the first merchant that's pointing a guy. Ah, you see nothing

[00:56:01] They catch a glimpse of the face was a body in their eye

[00:56:05] Uh, don't

[00:56:07] This is beyond my pay grade

[00:56:11] So I had no trouble. I mean, I don't understand why you thought that there would be trouble

[00:56:16] It's a bit of a mystery to me to be honest

[00:56:19] Yep, you know, honestly, I'd say go ahead and hand wave that if you want like David did mention it beforehand

[00:56:24] And anyway, I kind of envisioned, you know

[00:56:28] Whether he had the body wrapped up before he got the cart. Maybe he had the body with him

[00:56:35] And you know

[00:56:36] Drop down what looks like a dead body. It's like I need your cart

[00:56:39] And maybe that helped things along kind of what's the order of operations here David

[00:56:45] Well, I figured bring her along

[00:56:47] Um

[00:56:48] I will put a cloak around her. I mean, I'm not a total monster

[00:56:52] Yeah

[00:56:53] And you know, maybe a veil across the not face

[00:56:57] So that it's not it's not obvious obvious, but you know, it's

[00:57:02] I'm not going to address the damsel in the corner

[00:57:06] And because I am aggressively not addressing the fact that there is a damsel in the corner

[00:57:11] Nobody's gonna say a word about it. That's not a damsel in the corner. That's a fucking corpse

[00:57:16] My dude

[00:57:18] It's a corpse that's breathing, but it's a corpse

[00:57:21] You see nothing

[00:57:25] Cracks knuckles you see nothing

[00:57:28] Yeah, it totally reminds me of that, uh, you know

[00:57:32] Or the thief at the orc thief that has zero in

[00:57:36] stealth but

[00:57:37] All in intimidation

[00:57:39] You heard him. He said we didn't see him

[00:57:43] I'm not gonna argue with the man

[00:57:45] Hmm

[00:57:46] So unless you wanted to do anything particular Chris

[00:57:49] I mean, I'd say that the cart and everybody and then however you're you want to be dressed

[00:57:54] You could you could all have had a range and be you know in the plaza outside of the opera

[00:58:00] Um, I am actually mainly going to use the couriers to tell people to head

[00:58:07] Backstage

[00:58:08] Because we're gonna have to go into the back

[00:58:11] Yes

[00:58:12] I mean

[00:58:14] Joe's people were said uh beforehand to go through that main gate. I mean

[00:58:19] yes

[00:58:28] With joes people

[00:58:30] I kind of feel like yes

[00:58:32] Or if the fawns and coban, I kind of made a weird tourist of names there

[00:58:36] The fawns coban will walk in together. He's the porter for this huge rug

[00:58:42] No one's gonna ask any questions

[00:58:44] Until at least until we get inside

[00:58:47] Yeah, I am a part of uh,

[00:58:50] Heratomus Borga's

[00:58:51] Entourage and no one is going to ask me questions about it

[00:58:54] I mean you got a ticket. You can just walk in

[00:58:57] Yeah, I mean I got tickets for everyone too. Yeah, so you can meet up with him. So I mean yeah, you could walk in

[00:59:04] That's not a problem there

[00:59:06] so, yeah, so

[00:59:09] Yeah, it will the fawns coban. He's got the uh, is is a body in the food cart right now

[00:59:16] Uh coban or were you just packing up?

[00:59:19] Honestly, that's what I was going to do is I was going to put her underneath the cart

[00:59:23] Okay, make to make it easier to get her in because

[00:59:25] If we've got the rug people are going to suspect that there is something in the rug

[00:59:31] And so when we unroll the rug to show that there's not

[00:59:35] Um

[00:59:37] Which is why we need to hit the code check

[00:59:39] Yes, okay. So yeah, and the

[00:59:43] Joe I did not write down the name of the npc

[00:59:45] My npc for the the guard

[00:59:49] That's john carlo

[00:59:51] John carlo

[00:59:52] you know

[00:59:53] Observes you walking up kind of you know sees you before he sees coban doesn't realize that you're actually with him

[01:00:00] I guess you had the rug that you were mentioning beforehand

[01:00:04] You go through the checkpoint

[01:00:05] There's the dogs

[01:00:07] I will kind of mention this to coban because he made

[01:00:11] uh

[01:00:12] This spin beforehand

[01:00:14] like that. So like I said, there's a couple

[01:00:17] Uh teams work around with dogs. It's kind of milling about

[01:00:20] But each of the gates that you're going through also has a dog there which you know strikes you as odd

[01:00:26] Definitely being somebody who has been to the opera here on many occasions to set bones and uh

[01:00:33] make stars

[01:00:34] And

[01:00:35] That strikes you as odd and then you remember something that you've uh

[01:00:40] You know about the faceless is that

[01:00:43] Faceless hate dogs and they hate dogs because they can fool everybody in appearance

[01:00:49] But not in fragrance

[01:00:51] So the scent is going to give them away

[01:00:54] Yeah, and it's the fact that the guard has all this out there

[01:00:58] kind of leaves you to believe that

[01:01:01] There may be more going on than you know

[01:01:04] Maybe they know that what they're dealing with as well

[01:01:07] It's a little bit of a monkey rinse, but you go through they examine the uh

[01:01:12] The carpet it defines does a great flourish

[01:01:16] And the carpet is unrolled and it is just a plain chain carpet

[01:01:21] leaving

[01:01:24] Leaving the guard quietly confused as to why this is important, but

[01:01:29] You were allowed interest in and then brand

[01:01:33] I'm just going to lean over and whisper into hero's ear

[01:01:37] Hey

[01:01:38] You may want to leave early tonight

[01:01:41] You get you get a pretty hard side eye

[01:01:43] But he just remains quiet

[01:01:46] I am giving this to you as one of my best customers

[01:01:51] Duly noted and he makes uh

[01:01:56] He makes how you saw oh

[01:01:58] Here and he kind of wonders off with uh, I mentioned he was taking his family up there

[01:02:03] So he kind of excuses himself from your presence

[01:02:07] Okay

[01:02:08] So, um, I'm immediately going to the co-check which is where I said we would meet up

[01:02:14] Okay

[01:02:15] Is everybody else doing that as well?

[01:02:17] Oh indeed. Yes

[01:02:19] Up the floor is yours gentlemen. How do you want to go about this?

[01:02:22] All right

[01:02:24] So we know that there's at least one faceless that is

[01:02:29] impersonating the ingenue

[01:02:30] So we should head back there

[01:02:34] We should head for dianora's dressing room

[01:02:36] all right

[01:02:38] So what I can do here is

[01:02:42] help with

[01:02:44] confusion

[01:02:45] A lot of people here know me. I'm not gonna lie

[01:02:49] Okay, I will let me go ahead and preface this just a tad bit

[01:02:52] I mean getting concert tickets in to the concert doesn't exactly mean that you get to go backstage and stuff like that

[01:02:59] So, I know of course. I need to I need a roll now stealth wise. I just want to go ahead and

[01:03:05] Be flat out honest with you

[01:03:07] And I'm also looking at the stuff that I posted in the chat back in october

[01:03:11] About the types of rows and whatnot. So let me screw up here about the difficulties

[01:03:18] If I can find where I posted that so

[01:03:22] I would say that this would be

[01:03:25] with a cart

[01:03:27] and a carpet and the three of you in general and it's been a

[01:03:32] Uh

[01:03:33] This is gonna be a very hard check

[01:03:37] No, I take it back exceptionally hard because watch dogs or dogs like people are vigilant

[01:03:44] Obviously the guard knows that something is up. So if you were going to do

[01:03:49] A sneak

[01:03:51] That would be like you'd have to roll a 10 at least

[01:03:55] As a group and then we may need to consult those rules briefly before we do that now you can and I think this is what you were

[01:04:01] Leading up to Chris

[01:04:03] You can do things to make the check easier

[01:04:07] Yes, that is that is explicitly explicitly what I was doing. I'm trying to muddy the waters for everyone

[01:04:13] So i'm just like going to start uh walking around in the crowd

[01:04:20] And just you know saying hello to the people who uh know me

[01:04:24] And the people who may want to buy a thing or two from me

[01:04:28] How's that gonna distract the guards?

[01:04:31] It's going to distract the guards because um a bunch of people are gonna get real high

[01:04:36] So you're gonna you're gonna try to get people in the area and you know possibly causing scenes

[01:04:42] Exactly

[01:04:43] How do you how do you uh propose you're gonna do this?

[01:04:47] I I have a ticket. I'm supposed to be here. Yeah, I mean what kind of rule are you gonna make or a span?

[01:04:54] Uh, this

[01:04:56] would be

[01:04:57] Hmm

[01:04:58] I am almost tempted to say city's secrets

[01:05:02] because I know uh

[01:05:05] The upper classes drug habits

[01:05:07] I'll save a city secrets. You know who to um

[01:05:11] Who to look up? Yeah, you know the back streets hitting troops as cities kind of deal like that

[01:05:18] So

[01:05:19] I'm like i'm not trying to target someone specifically. I'm just trying to make things more

[01:05:24] Make it easier for us to do our job in the quiet

[01:05:29] I've got a

[01:05:31] spend on my warrior skill of tactics of death

[01:05:35] To basically spot a hole in the guard patrol

[01:05:39] To lower the stealth difficulty by

[01:05:42] I'll spend two on tactics of death because i've got two points

[01:05:46] And basically use chris's muddying of the waters to basically make that hole bigger

[01:05:51] Is there

[01:05:53] There's nothing to skill that you have to actually do you have an alchemy skill for of some sort to actually make drugs because you know

[01:05:58] How drugs work?

[01:06:00] It isn't like instantaneous

[01:06:02] Kind of deal like that unless you want to kind of wait closer to show time for when things start kicking in to find your window chris

[01:06:09] Like you could you could have more time right now if you could somehow

[01:06:14] You know up the dosage

[01:06:16] Or if you wanted to just go ahead and with scurrilous rumors, I mean city secrets

[01:06:22] You know you give these to the people and you realize that

[01:06:26] There's gonna be

[01:06:28] You know you got your hat to wait so you're gonna have less of a window to do what you're doing in if you do that

[01:06:33] normal way

[01:06:34] I don't really have a way to um

[01:06:37] Make the dosages that specific so

[01:06:42] Fuck it. We're doing it live y'all

[01:06:44] What are you suggestions for al-dhafans?

[01:06:49] No, let's uh, let's just try and uh not get caught

[01:06:54] Okay stealth

[01:06:56] Stealth plus distraction is good

[01:06:59] You're working with the watch you can have them throw thrown in as like

[01:07:04] The last distraction while we get away. I mean I'm gonna wait until

[01:07:09] Stuff goes real bad because they literally said hey man

[01:07:14] We're there's not a lot we can do to help you like let us know if it gets real out of hand, but otherwise

[01:07:19] um

[01:07:21] Yeah, so my plan is to just sneak over to the door

[01:07:26] I'm gonna burn a lot of stealth on it

[01:07:28] I'm gonna I'll let you be the one that makes kind of the main role. So

[01:07:34] The way I understand this and

[01:07:37] Again, I'm kind of I've done gum shoe systems before

[01:07:40] Uh, I say forever point of uh

[01:07:45] So forever point you get a plus three

[01:07:48] To your modifier forever point. I'm looking at an example

[01:07:51] So it says forever point of skull dogry for this example from the book you spend

[01:07:56] On a stealth test gain plus three to your stealth rope

[01:07:59] So if chris is spending one for the secrets to pass out the drugs

[01:08:04] right and then

[01:08:06] That would be a plus three and then david you said you were going to spend two of the war

[01:08:11] Uh, yeah tactics of death

[01:08:14] So that will roll that will raise I mean lower your difficulty instead of it being a what I say a 12

[01:08:22] That would be 12 minus nine would be what four

[01:08:26] So you've got a row of four so you can actually you know spend points on your stealth role as well

[01:08:32] You've got a plus nine to difficulty of 12. Okay, so plus nine

[01:08:38] uh

[01:08:39] I

[01:08:40] Well, we're slower this down a bit because i'm looking at the rules

[01:08:44] Stinking past will that alert guards is 10

[01:08:47] so

[01:08:49] in fact

[01:08:50] You just have difficulty at one. Yeah. Yeah

[01:08:54] So, yeah, I guess I'll just roll you don't have to

[01:08:57] Yeah, just roll and if you if you wanted to spin you can

[01:09:00] Hey, yes, x

[01:09:04] That's what I needed

[01:09:07] Okay

[01:09:08] So you all linger around and by the way, I have not included this image

[01:09:13] And I do think that I am remiss not to show you

[01:09:17] The inside of this place

[01:09:19] But let me go ahead and throw a snippet in here. So you're milling about

[01:09:24] There's an entry point kind of before you get into the actual opera house itself when they start letting people in

[01:09:30] You know, you all kind of follow in you can kind of see the inner workings of all

[01:09:34] You know

[01:09:35] At the opera house, but this is what the inside of the opera house

[01:09:39] Looks like

[01:09:40] It's it's beautiful. I mean it's got row upon row of uh, you know seats in the balcony kind of area

[01:09:47] Like that are gorgeous

[01:09:48] There are thousands of people here. I mean it's packed and even if people aren't screaming and stuff like that is starting to get

[01:09:57] You know just from people mowing about is starting to get loud the acoustics are great in this place

[01:10:03] and

[01:10:04] You wait about you see bran

[01:10:07] Kind of easing through the crowd picking out people shaking hands

[01:10:11] exchanging party favors and all

[01:10:14] That takes a while so

[01:10:16] Fast forward we'll say at about the 536

[01:10:22] You said it stood opera started at nine bran

[01:10:26] Uh operas normally start at nine

[01:10:29] at nine

[01:10:30] well

[01:10:31] I'd started everything three. We'll say that you're getting close to like maybe around seven from doing all this kind of stuff

[01:10:38] So you still got a little window of opportunity

[01:10:41] Uh, you know there starts to be disturbances in the crowd

[01:10:45] You know somebody you see one patron starting to get in a fight with another one of these patrons that you know perhaps it's brands

[01:10:52] You see somebody being

[01:10:54] loud and belligerent you see

[01:10:56] They're doing the cat call to this sage not cat call

[01:11:00] But they're yelling out the equivalent of what you would do free bird too. They're yelling out the name of another opera

[01:11:05] Dave what they would what would be the name of another famous opera?

[01:11:09] Mad

[01:11:10] I do mad on butterfly

[01:11:16] All right, so um

[01:11:18] Do I need to make a roll to look around to see if I can see any of my other compatriots?

[01:11:23] I know I mean I'd say that you guys

[01:11:26] If I think you guys have kept track of each other

[01:11:29] But the windows opened up the guards or some of them have started to disperse from guarding the backstage area

[01:11:38] To go deal with the other problems. There's your chance

[01:11:41] So I am very specifically going to like make

[01:11:45] Like eye contact with both

[01:11:49] Uh coban and it'll find so

[01:11:51] It's like, all right, dude. Let's do this guys

[01:11:54] As you guys start to make way you see a slight scuffle kind of break out with the guard involved

[01:12:00] Uh that went to check it out that was near the backstage entrance

[01:12:03] The others kind of stepped forward to kind of assist her buddy

[01:12:09] Leaving a small window for you all to just quietly row your squeaky cart

[01:12:15] Backstage

[01:12:17] Yes

[01:12:18] And yep, you're in the uh backstage area the green room if you will kind of area

[01:12:23] So, I mean there's hallways or different rooms and whatnot

[01:12:27] You see

[01:12:28] If you're going down the hallway you see people in various states of costume dress

[01:12:34] They're all kind of busy caught up with themselves

[01:12:37] They don't really pay much attention to you. So what are we looking for?

[01:12:42] Um

[01:12:44] I'm just going to pull out my charm and grab the first person who looks like they're not doing anything

[01:12:48] I'm so sorry. Uh

[01:12:51] I have a very important thing. I need to get to uh miss dionara to the awning

[01:12:56] Uh could could you point me in?

[01:12:59] Towards or

[01:13:01] Towards your door

[01:13:03] As you say you were pulling out your what your charm

[01:13:06] Yeah, I mean I'd say with are you got points in that?

[01:13:09] I'd say with a point spin. They're kind of busy and

[01:13:14] Her

[01:13:16] Yeah, I know

[01:13:18] Another thing another bouquet of roads you would think that she would have a bit more

[01:13:23] whatever

[01:13:24] Anyway, uh, yeah, she's and

[01:13:26] You know points in the general directions. Let's go just go up those flight steps. You can't miss it

[01:13:30] It's a room with the star on it

[01:13:32] Let's start. Thank you. I appreciate that

[01:13:36] Break a leg by the way

[01:13:39] Thanks

[01:13:40] Co-band is there a said said leg

[01:13:43] So I have broken that leg many times

[01:13:49] It's fine, I'm I don't know this coban you speak of I'm here incognito wink

[01:13:57] Do you not see the fake mustache we are

[01:14:00] Look, I'm just

[01:14:02] Coban on the back and it's like moving on moving on

[01:14:05] I'm not gonna make you make a make a stealth check or anything like that to go up the steps

[01:14:11] Uh oddly enough coban picking up the cart

[01:14:15] In a feat of strength to carry it up a flight of stairs

[01:14:18] Yes

[01:14:20] We're all just supposed to be here no big deal

[01:14:25] So we get to the door I very lightly knock on it

[01:14:30] Okay, who is it?

[01:14:32] catering

[01:14:34] You hear kind of a

[01:14:36] from behind the door and

[01:14:38] you know

[01:14:39] He walks up. You see a door crack open just a tad bit

[01:14:43] I'm sorry. I I just look at coban immediately before she says anything go bad

[01:14:48] I'm just gonna open the door. Don't worry. We've got the cart right here

[01:14:52] Open the door all the way bring the cart right on in

[01:14:55] And

[01:14:59] Not even breaking stride

[01:15:01] That is that is far enough. That's fine. Thank you and now

[01:15:07] leave

[01:15:08] Yes, yes

[01:15:10] Once we show the meal to you, man

[01:15:13] Lock the door coban

[01:15:15] I don't think you heard me leave

[01:15:18] Now i'm gonna save you guys

[01:15:21] Some trouble here

[01:15:23] on uh dash row

[01:15:25] Okay

[01:15:27] She does have a

[01:15:29] An ability so i'm gonna spend six of my malice points

[01:15:34] Right now

[01:15:35] And she's just giving you this otherworldly command. She goes

[01:15:41] That's fine. You can leave the cart there

[01:15:43] you need to leave and

[01:15:46] it's

[01:15:46] You don't see it

[01:15:48] But it's kind of like my impression of is y'all some people say that they can see music

[01:15:53] And like colors and whatnot. It's just like waves that you just see just wash off her and each of you for a brief moment

[01:16:02] Are thinking like i've made a mistake. I'm not supposed to be here. Like i'm clearly

[01:16:07] I've made a mistake and all that like you're you're feeling

[01:16:12] So i'm going to give you the choice of you could either

[01:16:17] Take six morale damage. Just boom like that

[01:16:22] Or you can walk out those are your two like you've been

[01:16:26] Commanded this is basically a command spell. You've been commanded to leave

[01:16:30] So if you you know go forward here

[01:16:33] Go ahead mark six

[01:16:35] morale damage

[01:16:36] I'm gonna take the morale taken on the face

[01:16:40] Put me three or

[01:16:43] So describe what i was hearing like well what i came into for those at home

[01:16:48] I might my whole thing screwed up here and I had to hop off hop back on

[01:16:52] Uh, what how you guys handle this thing? So you're in there. You're gonna take the damage. What's the game plan?

[01:16:58] um

[01:16:59] I'm just gonna whip the tablecloth off of the cart

[01:17:03] And show both um

[01:17:05] The real um

[01:17:08] Why am i blanking on her name?

[01:17:11] Uh, david hold on

[01:17:13] I'm gonna show the

[01:17:14] Hold on you want to show the real dianora? I will I will whip the tablecloth off and you will jump at her

[01:17:22] Because this is gonna be a fight my man

[01:17:25] All right

[01:17:27] Hi, i'm coban. Let's you and me rassle

[01:17:30] It's gonna take coban's face. That'll be bad

[01:17:36] She gains all coban's abilities and

[01:17:44] Oh lord. Well, okay. So is this what we're wanting to do? So joe you got a better idea

[01:17:51] Now listen, um

[01:17:53] Here's how it's gonna go down

[01:17:55] You're gonna change your face back with this fine young lady and let her live her life

[01:18:00] In the future you find somebody else to prey on

[01:18:03] Not one of us. Let's just make that clear

[01:18:06] Uh, or coban's gonna break all break all your limbs here

[01:18:10] um

[01:18:12] How's it gonna go? I've got eight points in sway

[01:18:18] I'm gonna spend them all well i'll spend six of them. I want two left to try and maybe get out of here

[01:18:24] Okay

[01:18:25] And don't worry. I still have my preparedness

[01:18:26] I mean, well, yeah

[01:18:30] I've got a lot of preparedness, but i'm an m.o.s yet. Uh, let's say you know when d6 plus

[01:18:36] I'm looking to see my stats. Nope. See how it doesn't work this time

[01:18:41] I have to click formula

[01:18:43] A 12

[01:18:44] All right, Jesus

[01:18:47] I'm super mad for like I wonder why I defend with i'm trying to remember spending two months

[01:18:53] It's gonna be difficult

[01:18:55] It's grit, isn't it?

[01:18:57] I think grit uh, wait, you know what? I don't know. Let me take a look at the character. Yeah, it's grit is uh

[01:19:03] Okay, is your innate defense

[01:19:06] Against morale attacks and that's what this is

[01:19:09] Let me pull out my shit sheet real quick to make some notes real quick here

[01:19:13] It's like I almost thought that I wasn't gonna have

[01:19:16] I mean, I knew we were gonna have an encounter. I just did not do the math so

[01:19:20] all right

[01:19:22] So what was the row that you made?

[01:19:25] again

[01:19:26] uh, it was sway

[01:19:27] To convince her to just fucking surrender and give this

[01:19:31] Lady your face back and bounce

[01:19:34] Uh, I rolled

[01:19:36] I spent six on it and rolled six for a total score of 12

[01:19:40] all right, I think that

[01:19:44] I am also

[01:19:46] Want to spend two points?

[01:19:49] for

[01:19:50] You know what?

[01:19:52] Just for shits and giggles. There's no way that I can I mean you just boom

[01:19:57] Devastated and how do we do damage on that? I mean, I just did my row

[01:20:00] I wrote a five but that's in no way is going to beat a 12

[01:20:04] Even if I'd spent stuff and so

[01:20:08] And that's for

[01:20:09] And we do the damage. I'm trying to remind myself on this too. How you do sway damage. It's that's what you wrote to hit

[01:20:17] Yes, I

[01:20:18] my suggestion is that

[01:20:20] like

[01:20:21] None of us are supernatural in this in this way. Yeah, like we're just like yeah, no dude. We figured you the fuck out

[01:20:29] So it it's less like I can try to break you but oh no

[01:20:34] I'm just trying to figure out how to have actually account damage for the row of 12

[01:20:39] If it is it 12 damage, that's what I'm trying to roll down to morale damage

[01:20:45] To the rules

[01:20:48] I'm looking at the quick reference but that

[01:20:51] To damage for your attack hit the target you normally inflict 1d6 plus 1 damage that damage may vary a bit if you're using a weapon

[01:20:59] Uh

[01:21:00] Minimum result on a damage die rolls number of points up to six you spent while attacking shit

[01:21:07] Now we're here we're here

[01:21:10] So what was the damage again, Joe?

[01:21:12] Uh damage is 1d6 plus 1

[01:21:16] Um, maybe higher fuse a weapon the minimum possible damage is the amount of spend you spent

[01:21:23] So which means the minimum you can do is six

[01:21:27] Uh seems like it

[01:21:29] The weapon I would say is you've got the actual body of the woman

[01:21:33] I mean, yeah, um

[01:21:35] I make sure i'm reading that right because that seems nuts

[01:21:39] I mean, I know it kind of makes sense honestly

[01:21:44] I would be more than willing to um

[01:21:48] I would be more than willing to give you like a plus two for you having the evidence

[01:21:52] Yeah, there are two so it would be like eight damage

[01:21:55] Uh, I should rationalize for spending investigation point to boost your attack

[01:22:01] Um, okay. Let's go back to page 70

[01:22:05] Thank you for co g m and with me, Joe

[01:22:07] I was looking through the quick start and it did not have anything other than the actual damage

[01:22:14] Damage modifier

[01:22:18] Investigative spends plus one damage per die per investigative point spent

[01:22:25] That's but that was an actual general ability. I think it's like yeah, so it's an in general ability. So I don't think that'll happen

[01:22:31] uh, um

[01:22:33] So I think i'll just roll the 1d6 plus two if I have the weapon of her body

[01:22:38] Yeah

[01:22:39] Because otherwise

[01:22:41] It's like, oh, I don't know

[01:22:43] I mean

[01:22:45] trying to think uh, well

[01:22:47] investigative wise

[01:22:49] I mean, I could get me an additional plus one for if you could tie in one of those

[01:22:54] investigative abilities

[01:22:56] Let's see. Let's see

[01:22:59] uh

[01:23:00] How about uh felonious intent?

[01:23:04] You did threaten her with me breaking. Yeah, I will this dude will definitely fuck you up

[01:23:12] I absolutely mean it we will we will wreck your whole day

[01:23:16] And hopefully all of the rest of them

[01:23:19] All right, so that would give you an extra damage die. That's right

[01:23:23] That's why I roll an extra d6

[01:23:26] There six no not 1d16. That's too much

[01:23:30] It gives me a total damage of five

[01:23:32] Just look at this chart

[01:23:35] Damage given to you by an ally

[01:23:38] I mean, I you know offhand. I thought we'd just go ahead and go down to five

[01:23:42] If that's you know what your rose so I'll put that down as 10

[01:23:47] So she just stands there just speechless for a moment

[01:23:54] Look

[01:23:55] This doesn't concern you

[01:23:58] I really think that

[01:24:00] We don't need to resort to violence here

[01:24:03] I don't know anything about that

[01:24:07] Do you know

[01:24:09] That half

[01:24:10] Of the bones in a human body are located in hands and feet

[01:24:15] So all it really takes for me to break a large percentage of your bones

[01:24:20] Is to just crush a hand

[01:24:23] Or I'll get bigger at that

[01:24:26] So I'm just gonna pull out the sword

[01:24:29] And just turn it flat side and say and do you realize

[01:24:33] How bad easy it is

[01:24:35] For me to swing the flat part of this sword and do just that

[01:24:41] So don't tell me that it's not my business because my business

[01:24:46] Is bones

[01:24:48] coban

[01:24:49] Can can we take a moment here?

[01:24:51] I would like to have a uh one-on-one

[01:24:54] Here well, hold on

[01:24:56] This is kind of combat so speak so

[01:24:59] typically it would be joe and then joe picks who

[01:25:03] He wants to follow him up, but david went ahead and okay now just reminding you

[01:25:08] You would pick somebody to go

[01:25:11] Next and all that so it looks like david's making an intimidation check so

[01:25:16] uh

[01:25:17] Yeah, you got the appropriate skill

[01:25:20] You can do that. You can get an extra damage die if you can tie it in

[01:25:24] Well, you have your bone setter and is that a general or is that a

[01:25:29] A general is a bind wounds, but the investigative is intimidation. I have two points and I will spend both of them at once

[01:25:37] Okay

[01:25:38] So for okay, I guess plus one bonus

[01:25:43] Okay, so why don't you go ahead and row to hit?

[01:25:46] with uh

[01:25:47] your

[01:25:49] Swai I guess

[01:25:51] Um

[01:25:52] Let's see sway that is a general right

[01:25:55] Yes

[01:25:56] All right

[01:25:59] I've got a six

[01:26:00] Well target numbers pretty typically a four

[01:26:03] I am going to try to defend that with grit. I didn't even bother spinning the second round because joe just

[01:26:12] There was if mathematically impossible for me to do anything

[01:26:15] So she's on she's got her feet about her a tad bit more

[01:26:19] So I am going to spend

[01:26:22] points of grit

[01:26:24] And I wrote a five you said you wrote a six

[01:26:27] I rolled a six

[01:26:29] All right, that's cool. And so you got your initial

[01:26:34] With the hit, you know that you grow a damage die for the hit

[01:26:37] But you said you wanted to use intimidation. So if you wanted to burn

[01:26:41] Those and your dam you would be rolling three damage die

[01:26:45] I kind of like that we're

[01:26:48] Aiming for um

[01:26:50] This feels like morale damage. Yeah, it is so much morale damage

[01:26:55] So I rolled six six and three

[01:26:59] So that's going to be 15

[01:27:02] Oh Jesus Christ. I need a consultant chart

[01:27:06] Yeah, well never mind

[01:27:09] We're done guys hold on no we got negative numbers

[01:27:13] We get we get to go into that. I'm just looking at this quick start guide which I have one of my students took me up

[01:27:20] He works at a table top game

[01:27:22] points

[01:27:23] Let's see

[01:27:25] That takes her down to I don't feel I don't feel like I need to hide numbers from you. So she started with 15

[01:27:32] Joe knocked her down to five. I mean knocked her down by five. So she was at 10

[01:27:37] David has taken her down to negative five

[01:27:42] Or wait no 15. Yeah, that'd be negative five

[01:27:45] so

[01:27:45] Oh, I'm about to make this worse

[01:27:48] okay, so

[01:27:50] yeah, she

[01:27:52] Definitely balks at at your

[01:27:53] at your

[01:27:55] move

[01:27:56] David or excuse me coban. She looks around

[01:27:59] She's even kind of eyeballing a window that's behind her. She kind of eases

[01:28:05] Next to the desk or her dressing

[01:28:08] Makeup table, you know what I'm looking for. What's that word?

[01:28:12] or

[01:28:13] You put your makeup on to get the mirror at the desk whatever

[01:28:17] It's sad. I work in I do I've done musicals for 10 years and I can't remember the name for that

[01:28:22] Uh vanity vanity. Thank you. Yes

[01:28:25] She steps back and you said

[01:28:28] Well, David decided because we skipped this rule

[01:28:31] Do you want brand to go or do you want to her to go because when she gets to go

[01:28:34] She does get to go she picks who goes after her again

[01:28:37] It's reverse serpentine order. So she could pick herself to go again

[01:28:43] brand

[01:28:44] Yeah, if brand can knock her morale down to

[01:28:48] negative

[01:28:50] 20 million that would be great and she just collapses

[01:28:54] So she's going for the window behind the vanity, correct?

[01:28:58] Oh, she's stepping back. She's watching him

[01:29:00] But you know an unsteady hand like she's got her hands kind of stressed behind her feeling for the vanity

[01:29:05] But she kind of looked toward a window as well. You starting to get like

[01:29:09] She's starting to think about boating is what you're seeing

[01:29:13] So

[01:29:15] Miss fake dianora

[01:29:17] I have bad news for you. I'm smarter than you

[01:29:21] And that's when I'm going to spend my m.o.s for preparedness

[01:29:25] Every single window is bolted

[01:29:29] I want you to go back like why don't you do that, you know ocean's 11 type of

[01:29:34] Backward montage to how this worked. How did you get?

[01:29:38] Like

[01:29:39] Every single window boarded. What did you do between the time that

[01:29:44] You've left the perfumery to now explain this narrative with me. I'm totally fine with it, but I

[01:29:50] Oh, actually, there's a very good point for it. So, uh, I've been blackmailing

[01:29:57] Hero, uh, borga for a while

[01:30:00] And I just pointed out hey man you want to come here to this

[01:30:06] Opera tonight. It's gonna be a wild party

[01:30:11] You'll probably want to hide a few things

[01:30:13] I have a few friends

[01:30:15] They can tell you where to board things up

[01:30:19] When when man

[01:30:20] Sounds like a difficult pill to swallow. I mean i'm up for it

[01:30:24] But it just seems like a hero

[01:30:26] I think we've kind of rode that one out as far as we can with this. I mean, it's like

[01:30:31] Oh, no, no, this was your road to board up the windows of the opera house

[01:30:36] Fair enough, but like that's the thing like I I have a clientele

[01:30:40] I I'm like basically working my trade

[01:30:43] Uh, do you want me to spend something?

[01:30:47] I'm just trying to figure out narratively

[01:30:51] I will warm up your food in just a second

[01:30:54] the way

[01:30:56] The way I was thinking it is that

[01:30:58] Uh brand vitriol is well a nice guy. He's kind of a sketchy character

[01:31:03] And he's always trying to figure out ways to better build up his brand

[01:31:09] And if you can find dark rooms in an opera house, that's a way to make money

[01:31:14] Oh, uh, yeah like it's not savory

[01:31:19] Can I'm I'm willing to work with you on this? Can we can we modify this some?

[01:31:23] Oh, yeah, of course

[01:31:25] Why don't you

[01:31:27] say that in the brief moment

[01:31:30] that uh

[01:31:31] You had when you got backstage

[01:31:34] And you figured out the location of it

[01:31:36] You rent you reach over to lean over to ill defiance like you may want to lurch the the guards to watch the windows

[01:31:43] Oh, yeah. No, that's better. I like that more

[01:31:46] That's fine. I didn't want to be the gem

[01:31:48] It says no but like I was just having a hard time

[01:31:51] I was seeing somebody set up a bunch of scaffolding and just

[01:31:54] Nails outside of the opera house and you know, oh no. No, no, I I prefer that

[01:31:59] Good job, adam

[01:31:59] so

[01:32:01] I'm just kind of picturing just slipping a small bag of money to the street urchins and pointing up

[01:32:06] And they just nod and then the next thing you know is just kids are nailing the window shut

[01:32:12] You're scouring the opera house like eldritch whores

[01:32:18] Okay, like a whole bunch of just spider kids

[01:32:23] So what does that but uh, what does that do chris? So we let's get back on task here with

[01:32:29] so mechanically

[01:32:32] She starts she's stepping back

[01:32:34] You're I guess you would I wouldn't do that and take over from here

[01:32:40] Well, you're stuck here

[01:32:42] Um, and I'm just going to tell you right now

[01:32:46] This is me using my last point of skull duggery

[01:32:50] I have set up a three-part password between me and my partners. So if you try to steal our faces

[01:32:58] We will know which one of one of us you have stolen

[01:33:03] So you you you did make clear to her that I wouldn't go for the window. It's being washed kind of thing

[01:33:08] Yeah, no. Yeah, no, it it's it's blocked

[01:33:12] You can't get out there. You can't deal with us. You can't try to steal our faces because we have figured out a way to do this

[01:33:19] So you're gonna your skull duggery point is for the extra damage die. So go ahead and

[01:33:25] row to hit the

[01:33:27] I am at a disadvantage. I think uh difficulty is a general test increased by one

[01:33:33] so

[01:33:35] uh

[01:33:36] Yeah, go ahead and row to hit and then I'll row to defend and I will be spending three points this way

[01:33:43] Three points this way. I add that to your attack room. All right. Uh, that would be a six overall

[01:33:50] All right, so i'm gonna row

[01:33:53] The six minus one. Oops. I think I didn't I screwed up

[01:33:58] I wrote a one

[01:34:00] So and you said that you were spending your last point of skull duggery. So it would be two damaged die

[01:34:08] Okay, so wait, I I can just roll 2d6

[01:34:11] If it's skull dugger is investigative, right? Yes

[01:34:15] Yeah, so that's what it sounds like to me. So you wrote 2d6

[01:34:18] Uh, well, I'm not counting the body as an ongoing. I continue to damage the thing

[01:34:24] Yeah, no, I understand. Yeah, that that would be a nine

[01:34:28] Oh lord

[01:34:29] So

[01:34:31] negative 14

[01:34:32] I wonder what happens at negative 14

[01:34:35] I will basically say

[01:34:37] Choose one. So I got these options and again, I'm using the quick start guide

[01:34:41] For this so I got three options if you don't become treason

[01:34:45] You're removed from the conflicts develop well develop a mental or spiritual disabilities

[01:34:51] They plague you for it. Uh, investigative spins are sharply limited

[01:34:55] And well, you're forever. This is more player facing

[01:34:59] Like I'm I'd say right now you're out of combat. She just kind of

[01:35:04] Troubled she's

[01:35:06] She's like, oh no, I'm fucked

[01:35:09] She falls back so to speak like

[01:35:12] Resting against the vanity

[01:35:17] It's just a job. It's just a job. I've

[01:35:20] I've got to complete this here

[01:35:21] Uh

[01:35:23] It's all I I was gonna I'm gonna give her a face back. Just let me do the let me do the deal

[01:35:28] I think you're gonna have to explain to us what this deal is

[01:35:32] Don't use any of your fucking brain magic. We had enough of that

[01:35:37] I forgot to find what facts that you used the first game show. I apologize. I mean that works great if

[01:35:44] I just when you when you leaned heavy and said I was like, oh shit. I didn't do something

[01:35:49] I'm supposed to

[01:35:52] Okay

[01:35:54] So let me pull up my notes here. I got like three different sheets of it here

[01:36:00] Or is she just kind of

[01:36:03] Uh, let's see

[01:36:04] Look look the hit the hit is on

[01:36:08] uh

[01:36:09] I'm trying to think of an italian name. Uh

[01:36:12] america pastry

[01:36:15] The hits on america was used. He's an ambassador from a neighboring city. He's come over to watch the play

[01:36:20] All I all I had to do was get close to him and I was aiming on doing that at the actor party that's going to take place

[01:36:27] So all I would love to do

[01:36:29] I mean, it's all I want like I don't care about about uh

[01:36:34] denora

[01:36:36] Denari is the god

[01:36:37] Deonora

[01:36:40] Deonora Truviani

[01:36:41] I don't like she could happen. You don't even know her name really. I know I was a gm

[01:36:49] No, I I'm putting that in character now

[01:36:52] Look, that's that's how it was. I just got it. I was going to assassinate they had a say after the ambassador after the

[01:36:59] opera

[01:37:00] But i'm starting to get the impression that

[01:37:03] You're not going to let me do that

[01:37:06] question mark

[01:37:08] Nothing will reel on board with just murder

[01:37:11] I don't think

[01:37:13] I don't think that murder is acceptable in this situation really. Um

[01:37:19] Brandovitch you're all is very very quiet

[01:37:22] So

[01:37:23] I mean if it was murder for a reason it's one thing but this sounds like a murder for hire who hired you

[01:37:30] Who put out the hit?

[01:37:32] That's that that's the nature of our business. I I don't know I know that

[01:37:37] Uh it goes through into intermediaries

[01:37:40] It was passed off to me

[01:37:42] Uh it seemed like a pretty much it seemed like a fun job. I get to

[01:37:47] Down this flesh and she kind of extends her hands around I get to go out. I get to perform

[01:37:53] I

[01:37:54] I get to fear that the

[01:37:56] Is adoration or was that word i'm looking for of the crowd

[01:38:00] I think you mean adulation

[01:38:03] Adulation excuse me. It's an accident. I can say adoration it's same thing, but um

[01:38:08] I get I get to do this. I don't particularly know

[01:38:13] Now I do want to point out something to coban because you made

[01:38:17] Uh

[01:38:18] You made this uh check earlier

[01:38:22] I mean to spend earlier with the monstrosities. There is also the deal of the dogs

[01:38:27] so

[01:38:28] somebody

[01:38:30] somewhere

[01:38:31] In the watch

[01:38:33] Possibly

[01:38:34] knows about this

[01:38:36] You know what I mean the simple fact that there are dogs that are sitting there

[01:38:40] You know to try to sense her out because she's a faceless

[01:38:45] Kind of leads you like I mean draw your own conclusions from there. I just want to go ahead and point that

[01:38:50] That note out there. You do know this. You also know just pretty much what your tactics or your ability in general

[01:38:56] Like she's broken. She's not

[01:38:58] Yeah, she you all have her at your mercy

[01:39:01] So I'm gonna put the sword up

[01:39:04] I'm gonna say all right

[01:39:06] What's your name? What should we actually call you as opposed to just faceless

[01:39:13] I'm coban and you are

[01:39:15] Shree

[01:39:17] Shree. I hate to tell you this but you've been double crossed

[01:39:22] How so?

[01:39:23] Just well

[01:39:25] Come over here to this window

[01:39:27] I'm gonna point down to the street. I'm do you see

[01:39:31] Those two watchmen right there

[01:39:33] And do you see the dog?

[01:39:35] Oh

[01:39:36] Every pair of watchmen around this place

[01:39:40] has a dog

[01:39:42] So if you had carried out

[01:39:45] that assassination

[01:39:46] You weren't going to escape alive

[01:39:49] They were going to get you

[01:39:51] There's dogs everywhere. They know what to look for

[01:39:55] And since they've been tipped off that you are here

[01:39:59] because dogs

[01:40:00] Whatever your end game was

[01:40:04] For your escape

[01:40:06] It wasn't going to work

[01:40:08] So I've got a deal for you. I've got a

[01:40:11] tiny little

[01:40:13] deal

[01:40:14] okay

[01:40:15] You give her back her face

[01:40:17] and

[01:40:19] I will give you

[01:40:21] The thing that will let you get out of this place

[01:40:24] safely

[01:40:25] And then you leave

[01:40:27] You find a new place to operate

[01:40:29] You find new intermediaries

[01:40:31] You find a new middleman because somewhere along the line you were betrayed

[01:40:37] Either the person who hired you

[01:40:39] either the person who gave you the job

[01:40:43] Or the person who

[01:40:45] Interacted with you directly

[01:40:47] But somewhere along the lines you have been betrayed

[01:40:50] So you give her back her face. I will give you your escape and you can leave

[01:40:55] And never ever come back to the city of eversync

[01:40:59] Don't seem to have a lot of options here

[01:41:03] Can I at least do the performance before I give her face back?

[01:41:08] It's

[01:41:09] probably

[01:41:10] best for the

[01:41:13] Cover

[01:41:14] I am not comfortable with this

[01:41:17] Did you replace her?

[01:41:19] Are you saying replace her for the performance?

[01:41:22] Well, I'm saying when did she replace her?

[01:41:24] Oh, she replaced her earlier this morning

[01:41:27] So that means that she's not going to be able to perform

[01:41:31] I mean, well, she will be able to perform. I don't think that you can perform as well as she can

[01:41:38] You're not going to get the adulation

[01:41:40] You may have most of her abilities, but you don't have her soul

[01:41:44] You're not going to be able to perform nearly as well as her

[01:41:47] You're going to bomb you really really want to give her back her face now

[01:41:52] It's the kindest thing that you can do for you and her

[01:41:55] So you just see the light go out in her eyes so to speak

[01:42:01] It's just I mean just she was bad off beforehand, but she just really

[01:42:06] Just you know very crestfallen

[01:42:09] As I'm trying to actually pull up a picture of what the faceless looks like one second

[01:42:14] But she will she nods her head

[01:42:17] She goes carefully steps towards the cart with the body

[01:42:24] and uh

[01:42:26] kneels down

[01:42:27] Next to it and you just see her it's

[01:42:29] It's like taking off the mask. You see her take her hands up to her face

[01:42:34] And just search to pull and then you see the human face just like separate

[01:42:41] From hers and it's there

[01:42:44] And it's very kind of it's grotesque looking. It's like you you see

[01:42:49] Like eyebrows ears hair you see all that teeth, but like no eyes and then I don't know did you ever see Jeepers creepers?

[01:42:57] At the tail end of it where

[01:43:00] The brother has been taken by that. I can't remember the name of the actor that took him but uh

[01:43:06] I mean the actor but

[01:43:08] You just see like a hollowed out look

[01:43:11] To this face like there's no

[01:43:14] You can see through the eyes and there's nothing there, but

[01:43:17] Like the back of the room kind of deal and then it just dissipates

[01:43:21] And then what you see standing in spot is the image that I just dropped in right here of the faceless

[01:43:29] So

[01:43:30] The head becomes more like eye shaped if it was like eye on the end like

[01:43:36] Oh, not oval but I kind of describe that shape

[01:43:40] Like a gray. I guess you could say alien, but no eyes know anything

[01:43:45] And then you see the face just it's

[01:43:47] magically to start

[01:43:49] The actress's face just starts sparkling and then you just see this the eyes

[01:43:54] in the features and everything just come back onto

[01:43:57] Uh miss to vani's face

[01:44:00] and then

[01:44:02] shrie

[01:44:03] stands up

[01:44:04] and

[01:44:06] just

[01:44:07] Strips out of the costume

[01:44:09] And it's just this very androgynous like thin

[01:44:13] Shape and she just stand there. She has no mouth. She cannot speak

[01:44:18] And she just is sitting or waiting for you guys to make the next move

[01:44:22] So deal is a deal

[01:44:23] I'm gonna reach into my belt pouch and produce

[01:44:26] If as long as I can

[01:44:29] Make my preparedness roll. I'll spend three for this

[01:44:33] um

[01:44:34] A small bottle of peppermint oil

[01:44:37] Okay

[01:44:38] This will confound their scent enough for you to get away

[01:44:43] You're you're gonna smell like the world's worst worst mojito

[01:44:49] Splash it on now and run

[01:44:54] She smells like petruly oil

[01:44:57] There's hippies nearby

[01:45:01] She takes that and just starts dabbing it on her hands and rubbing around on her body

[01:45:07] You know what reach out to me in the future if you want a job

[01:45:12] She nods uh

[01:45:14] I guess

[01:45:16] You want her to go ahead and run right now? So or do you want to wait for like how do you know?

[01:45:20] She's gonna run just you want to let it run you see yeah, let her run

[01:45:26] the

[01:45:27] Deonora is starting to gain consciousness and

[01:45:30] I want to I want to check with you guys here like how much further into this do you I'm not going to quit the game

[01:45:35] Like we're pretty much done

[01:45:37] But I want I how I'm further into this mystery. Do you want to dive?

[01:45:43] No, no, let's just get paid

[01:45:47] I kind of want to delve a little bit because

[01:45:50] Let's be fair

[01:45:50] We

[01:45:52] Probably just made a powerful enemy

[01:45:54] Somebody wanted the head of state assassinated and they were willing to go to this grade of a length to do it

[01:46:00] They were willing to hire

[01:46:02] A faceless to carry out the killing

[01:46:06] So I would kind of like to know who is going to have the

[01:46:10] Who's going to be painting the target on our backs?

[01:46:13] okay, but

[01:46:14] I'm personally on the fence because I feel like

[01:46:18] My character is obscure enough that he's not worried about people trying to kill him

[01:46:25] Also, this is a one shot. So if yeah, let me let me give you all the narrative version of this in so pretty much you've

[01:46:33] Diffused the entire situation. So

[01:46:37] I'll just I'll I'll kind of let me I'll I'll give you hints at how this is all working

[01:46:42] so

[01:46:44] Yeah, I have

[01:46:45] Shree is getting ready to run out the door. She you know six her head out sees it

[01:46:50] There's a lot of people

[01:46:52] And she just kind of shakes her head

[01:46:54] No for a second

[01:46:55] But as dnr is starting to come to she just

[01:47:00] Unobtrusively hides in the corner of the room

[01:47:03] She comes to dnr comes to kind of groggy. Yeah, what?

[01:47:08] What happened? I'm I was on the gondola and I mean she's dressed in the gondola

[01:47:13] And the leaders close. She looks down

[01:47:15] this is

[01:47:17] What's happening?

[01:47:18] And you guys can real play this part out here real quick, but I I am so sorry

[01:47:25] Uh

[01:47:26] I trust my clients most of the time

[01:47:29] sometime

[01:47:30] Share things that I wouldn't want them to share

[01:47:34] This is not your fault ma'am

[01:47:37] You are going to get ready for your opera. I promise you

[01:47:40] I was I was drugged

[01:47:45] Don't worry that's crude, but I guess

[01:47:50] It's clearing up

[01:47:52] Just what matters most and I'm disappointed

[01:47:55] The curtain is going to go up soon dear

[01:47:59] Oh god. I got I've got to get ready. I got

[01:48:03] And you all got me here

[01:48:05] Yes, uh, we worked very hard on this

[01:48:08] I am again. I am so sorry. I I'm sorry ma'am

[01:48:13] She looks at the cart

[01:48:15] in that

[01:48:17] Yes

[01:48:18] It was better than rolling you up in the rug and I've just got to look at the rug

[01:48:23] Glance over in the general direction of um

[01:48:27] Of she

[01:48:30] I will not pretend madam. You were kind of

[01:48:35] trouble to deal with the last few days, but

[01:48:38] I believe very strongly in helping people so

[01:48:41] You're here now

[01:48:43] Thank you so much. Look look, uh meet up with me later

[01:48:48] Uh, we'll we'll set up. I can't thank you enough

[01:48:51] But if you if you don't mo if you don't mind, uh, I need I need to there's my outfit

[01:48:57] I'll crumple it. Oh god. I'm I'm up when showtime. Oh

[01:49:01] I'll be with you and like let's just

[01:49:04] We'll see you at intermission

[01:49:06] Yes, we will see you at intermission

[01:49:08] But in the meantime, we're going to get this carpet out of here this this horrible horrible carpet gentlemen

[01:49:14] Let's roll up this carpet

[01:49:19] Despite being uh

[01:49:21] Adled shrie does kind of get the hint so as the

[01:49:27] The I'm sorry. I'm fighting way my child. She's starving

[01:49:33] I

[01:49:33] Can honey, oh you're making me edit. I don't like editing. I promise you give me 10 minutes

[01:49:41] Please don't call child protective services show

[01:49:44] um

[01:49:46] I mean it's noon. I assume that they're okay

[01:49:49] Yeah, they're fine. There's another person who lives there, you know

[01:49:53] Yeah

[01:49:56] Oh edit i'm gonna make a note of that so

[01:49:59] Shrie takes the hints and as uh denora turns around

[01:50:03] And I'm not even really waiting for you guys to go out of room. She has her back to you

[01:50:07] And you see her starting to unlace stuff and you guys quickly, you know, invert your eyes

[01:50:12] Wrap up the faceless

[01:50:15] Put the faceless in the cart

[01:50:17] And you wheel out

[01:50:20] You get down to the bottom floor it may be a little bit of a bumpy ride for

[01:50:25] Shrie as she's riding in the car that you get down there

[01:50:28] They find a good moment make it to her to rear

[01:50:32] exit

[01:50:33] As everything starts, you know, you just kind of raised

[01:50:36] You know

[01:50:38] Kind of place the cart near the door

[01:50:40] Raise it pull the blanket or the sheet or rug that you had you kind of

[01:50:46] Unfold it and hold it up a little bit and then

[01:50:49] For the casual observer they can see the door slightly

[01:50:52] Open and close and then

[01:50:54] They're gone

[01:50:55] The musical the opera goes off without a hitch despite being deeply addled by the whole experience

[01:51:03] The orgon goes out and yeah

[01:51:05] she

[01:51:07] Definitely by the set after intermission and to the second closing act. She's really firing on off cylinders

[01:51:14] that musical

[01:51:15] You never keep saying musical because that's what I do

[01:51:17] But the opera you've never seen anything quite like it

[01:51:20] It is as goofy as you described before the the heartbroken tragedy comedy of a clown

[01:51:28] and

[01:51:29] afterwards you guys are hanging around

[01:51:32] for the after party you meet up with uh

[01:51:35] Deonora

[01:51:37] and kind of you know

[01:51:39] Kind of shadowing her she gives you x amount of money units, which I don't

[01:51:43] Want you know it's a it's an it's a nice sum

[01:51:47] We'll just go ahead and put that way if we want to play this again with these characters

[01:51:51] We can go ahead and decide what you do because ever pretty much mission in the game starts off

[01:51:56] If your dad broke again, and you got to go out and earn money again

[01:51:58] You're kind of hand the mouth with this but you do notice something

[01:52:03] throughout the course of it like the course of the after party

[01:52:06] You do see there's not all the guards, but there's a select few of the guards that are really

[01:52:12] hovering

[01:52:14] not around

[01:52:15] Deonora, but they're hovering around

[01:52:18] the

[01:52:19] Head of state which I swear to god. I have his name written down

[01:52:24] Not that it matters hold on one second

[01:52:27] I gotta read this I gotta edit this whole fucking thing anyway

[01:52:31] Might as well

[01:52:32] so

[01:52:33] Count parent brunel

[01:52:35] You see him right this person was pointed out to you as you you know kind of gathering around like all the

[01:52:41] Fancy people the heads of state that were here and whatnot

[01:52:44] there the guards seem to be

[01:52:46] like

[01:52:47] Shaddling the ambassador quite a bit

[01:52:50] And as the party wings on

[01:52:52] They seem to be more and more on edge

[01:52:55] but

[01:52:56] By the end of it and nothing happens

[01:52:59] Then the party disperses so

[01:53:02] it

[01:53:04] We're pretty much at the end you want it y'all wanted the magic behind it all or

[01:53:08] Sure, I'm curious absolutely give it to me

[01:53:12] all right, so

[01:53:13] pure obachi was uh

[01:53:15] the

[01:53:17] Each different guard

[01:53:19] That's a you know a different captain in which district and whatnot. He's a

[01:53:22] he was a captain of this district here and they have uncovered

[01:53:28] other faceless victims as mentioned beforehand

[01:53:32] and

[01:53:33] Kind of figured out what he was dealing with here. So he decided to catch the

[01:53:38] faceless

[01:53:40] by

[01:53:41] Contracting the faceless but but to added benefit was they were going to step in

[01:53:45] They knew the target they were guarding the target. So when anything looked iffy

[01:53:50] And whatnot they could jump in and it would help raise his social status

[01:53:54] So he catches the killer, but he also saves a foreign head

[01:53:59] ambassador

[01:54:00] And yeah, it was a power move but just to gain ranks within the city guard

[01:54:06] So I would like each one of you all

[01:54:09] to go blind

[01:54:10] Mm-hmm

[01:54:12] I would like you all to each add one point for the monstrosities you

[01:54:17] They owe you one

[01:54:19] so you did not end this in bloodshed so you can

[01:54:22] gain plus one

[01:54:24] to that and

[01:54:27] You know what the matter in which you all conducted this

[01:54:30] I don't think your adversaries really know that you have been opposing them. There is the fact that

[01:54:36] Joe approached the guard about this, but as stated earlier, I don't know what's going on kind of thing like that there

[01:54:42] So I'd say that you actually got up jack

[01:54:45] Jack free. Otherwise you were going to have a negative added to your relationship with the city guard

[01:54:50] Yeah, no, we've been pretty laid back about everything. Yeah, we didn't do anything too crazy

[01:54:57] We've written to but we didn't actually do it. That's that's the best part about it

[01:55:03] I mean the gondola chase was kind of crazy

[01:55:06] Let's be and I feel like the way it was like you could have thought if you had played your cars differently

[01:55:13] I was secretly hoping that you were going to let her perform

[01:55:17] And then try to work it into the musical as one right or the opera as one last crazy thing that it does

[01:55:24] Is that the body is revealed?

[01:55:27] DeNora with her being faceless and then the faceless comes out and gives her back her face as part of the spectacle

[01:55:34] You know that so that if you had let her perform

[01:55:37] I was kind of hoping that would but I I didn't want to pigeonhote it that way

[01:55:41] But you know, oh man

[01:55:44] That would have been so cool though

[01:55:46] It would have been cool and also I was going to have you be jumped on the way if you had been more adversarial

[01:55:52] In it I was going to have you be jumped by the corrupt guard

[01:55:55] And I was going to have a combat scene probably after the opera but before you get back to the place

[01:56:01] so what

[01:56:02] I've

[01:56:03] Took in the guard thing Kevin Colt suggested it was just like a low level politician trying to gain

[01:56:11] like standings

[01:56:13] by

[01:56:14] You know having somebody assassinated

[01:56:17] And being able to follow it but yeah, that's pretty much it now. I know it took us

[01:56:22] two months to finish this up so

[01:56:24] You know questions comments suggestions of anything that I could do we were about the system in general

[01:56:30] or the experience

[01:56:33] I had so much fun

[01:56:34] This was yeah very very enjoyable all around I

[01:56:38] I love the setting. I like the characters. I

[01:56:42] It's it's gumshoe

[01:56:45] Ish, but um

[01:56:47] The spines aren't bad

[01:56:49] um

[01:56:50] All good so

[01:56:52] I kind of want to revisit the character at some point. Oh you can

[01:56:56] Another series of one shots would be great

[01:56:59] I like I mean I've got the one that uh

[01:57:03] Joe

[01:57:04] uh me and Joe played in

[01:57:07] sources herpetine games at jen con and then they released a

[01:57:10] Uh

[01:57:11] Other con scenarios they released it as a book so I went ahead and pre-ordered it

[01:57:14] So I've got the pdf version of it and there was one that I played that I feel like

[01:57:20] I could probably easily

[01:57:21] Move you guys into it. It seems like I like the city watch angle and I think it kind of provides a lot

[01:57:28] to do with

[01:57:29] this here, so I mean it

[01:57:31] You had definitely more experience and if you guys want to continue this

[01:57:34] I got another one shot that we can string in with this

[01:57:38] Well, I'm down. I am 100 I would play again. That's great

[01:57:42] Awesome. Well, well we'll plan on it and I could run that one pretty quick

[01:57:46] It just I apologize for as long as it took for me to get back to this here

[01:57:50] I like the fact in this system that and I was hoping

[01:57:54] With the only downside you guys point doing combat

[01:57:57] Would be

[01:57:59] I should start out a scene with combat

[01:58:01] Just so you kind of fight some moots and you generate these tokens

[01:58:04] So, you know your spins are rewarded with refresh tokens, which you had a few of them

[01:58:09] But I went ahead and refresh you completely between since it's been two months

[01:58:13] But you know for each mook you take out you get a refresh pool

[01:58:17] You add to a pool that people can pull from

[01:58:19] And whatnot

[01:58:21] So if you've had more if we'd made this one more combati, which

[01:58:26] We actually never you never swung the first punch

[01:58:29] In its whole game, but that kind of tracks also with uh, joe being on the side of law

[01:58:34] So to speak but yeah, I'd like how it's a reward combat

[01:58:38] Yeah, like honestly all of our characters are non-violent

[01:58:43] Like cobin is the wound binder

[01:58:47] That's cool, man. I'm glad you all enjoyed it. I look forward to running more of it. I definitely want to

[01:58:52] Yeah, that's one

[01:58:54] Awesome. So anybody have else have anything to say before I banish the beast?

[01:58:59] Uh, no good time

[01:59:02] We'll play again

[01:59:03] Awesome. Well, thank you all so much for joining me for those of you listening. Thanks for tuning in and until next time

[01:59:09] We'll see you next time

[01:59:12] Bye

adam,chris,rppr david,joe,
