He's also a musician and, uh, uh, music, a music instructor who has a, what is essentially a world ending weapon stuffed inside of a fireproof lockbox in the back of his house. So. Two hands came out of the shadows and dragged him in. No. We're taking you back. I just realized, I just realized the Baron also was like on, had pounced onto one of the, uh, the Jade Court.

[00:05:23] Um, uh, so I gotta say that like, the Baron is going to partially deescalate the situation by getting off of, uh, the, um, the, the vampire or the, uh, the Jade Court that he was on. Um, and then just kind of like, it's like, uh, I'm sorry, friends, I have to go. And he just kind of like runs off. What kind of needs me? Lift the oven on. Yeah.

[00:05:51] Uh, so you are still left, uh, kind of, um, some pointing, pointing staves or, or, or various implements at each other. Um, though it's maybe a little bit less tense than it was. Um, so, uh, yeah, the, um, uh, the curator, uh, as he's, as he's known, um, uh, sort of is like, now are we going to be civil about this or do we need to, are we going to have more of a problem?

[00:06:21] Well, you know, me, I'm a big fan of stability. Don't listen to her. That's fine. We can be civil. There's no reason for any bloodshed. We've already had enough. We can just hang out. Mostly, we don't want to see the world end. And it seems like that might be the case. I kind of like this place.

[00:07:43] like a, uh, uh, guile or intellect kind of, um, uh, kind of role to try and like convince him to kind of open up to you guys. Let him, let him in, let you guys in on their secret a little bit more. Um, yeah. I mean, I've probably got the best guile. I don't know about if anybody else has any ideas. And that's it. They are silhouettes of nothing in, in the, in, in, for auras. Like they're, they're, they've just got, there's just like kind of a negative space where they are. Weird.

Um, but from the actual building, yeah, there is, there are, um, it's like you're trying to stare at the sun, but not stare at the sun, but you're not doing a very good job. So you're kind of, your eyes are hurting the way you're doing it. Um, because there's sigils on the, uh, about like a ground level or surrounded kind of in a band surrounding the, the building.

[00:22:41] Um, and they are hate, like they are, they are nasty, um, symbols that you don't even recognize, but you, at your core, you just, it hurts to look at them. Lovely. Um, do you want to roll an intellect? Sure. Somehow I'll roll higher, higher on this despite it being worse. Nope. Yeah. You, you, it, it, whatever that is some nasty, uh, uh, those are some nasty, um, glyphs

Um, and, uh, you, you kind of start blinking a little bit cause the light is still, it's like mid, it's sort of like a damp, uh, or it's like a dim light. Um, and like the air is very damp and cold. Uh, and there's sort of like a, sort of like a mist around you. Um, and, uh, you're, you're not in the train station.

[00:26:36] Um, you, you appear to be in like an old, like an old library basement, like archives area. Mm-hmm. Like, it's just like rows and rows of, of bookshelves and, uh, and like storage shelves and stuff like that. Yeah. Um, and like, there's tons of like these moldy, musty old tomes and encyclopedias and, and boxes.

[00:27:04] Um, and the only light is really just from like a couple of like lamps that are on like some of the tables in the center, uh, corridor of it. Okay. Nine and three quarters. Son of a bitch. But, uh, yeah, that's all, that's, that's all you see around you. Um, okay. Uh, no signs of the hands. Nope. They are gone. Disappeared back into the shadows. Checking my cell phone.

[00:27:32] Uh, your phone or your, your phone, um, it just starts, uh, like you're looking at it and it's just like, uh, artifacting like the screen. Um, and then, uh, when you try to like tap onto it, it like, there's a sudden like burst of energy, a burst of, um, of sound of calliope music. Like. Do do do do do do do do do do do. Oh, my mom's calling. One sec. Um, memo. Uh, and, uh, yeah, other than that, you don't see, uh, your, your phone doesn't seem to be

Uh, and you decide to like, just like kind of open one up and like check the, uh, the,

Uh, and there is in fact a, like a, kind of like an official stamp on the inside of the book cover. Um, as I pull up, Oh, right. I can actually add this. I'm sorry. Um, you appear to find yourself in the cursed memorial library, uh, K U R S T.

[00:29:25] Uh, and then underneath that, um, like kind of in that little circle, like it's sort of like, that's, um, kind of imposed over top of like a circle. And then on the circle, it says, uh, um, Icker falls, West Virginia, West falls co. Son of a bitch. Oh. Hmm. So it was a calliope version of country roads is what you're saying. Yeah. Oh man. Somebody find that. I would.

I don't know how you like do that with the calliope music, like creepy carnival music or something playing to West. Uh, to. Yeah. Yeah. Basically. You do see a, um, you do see a set of stairs, uh, or like, uh, one of those like, um, double doors that look like they go up to like, there's like a flight of stairs on the other side that go up. Yeah. But it is chained.

[00:30:49] Uh, but then as you get closer, you realize that it is chained. Uh, I'm like, I guess maybe kind of look around and see what all the books are just glancing at them. Just seeing if there's a common theme going on here. Somebody has been researching here. Okay. Probably, uh, I wouldn't make you roll for this one. Uh, you, you look around, um, yeah, some of the books on the table are, um, actually a

[00:31:18] couple of them are on like, uh, trains and even like, uh, rail systems, uh, like defunct rail systems, uh, in, uh, in and around Appalachia. Mm-hmm. And, uh, even, uh, a couple of, um, uh, couple of, just a couple of atlases or like local atlases or, uh, or, um, uh, topographical surveys of, of, uh, West Virginia and, uh, East Kentucky. Okay.

[00:31:47] Well, well, I guess try the, I mean, the door is chained. Yeah. So, um, going to, uh, try to, I mean, it's, this is stupid. I either can try to destroy it or I can try to perhaps pick it. Okay. Yep. So, um, I'm going to go to the librarian's desk and pull out some paper clips and bend them straight.

[00:32:15] No, I've never done anything like this in my entire life. So the thing is, um, there's no reception or anything that there's no like reception table or anything down, down in the archives room. Like, and the, the door that, the, the, that's chained goes up to the, the stairs that go up to the second, like to the ground level of the, the library, which would be where that desk and stuff is. [01:55:20] university building some statues and stuff like that as well and yeah you see the smoke trail just immediately just like beeline past a bunch of like uh startled uh startled students and and and like uh just like streetwalkers and stuff like that um and just go crashing into through the doors of the of the university library so how do you want to proceed elizabeth park the truck follow follow smoke

[01:56:37] going on and then like you just run up a bunch more steps and then uh for about 50 yards all the way to uh the um the the entrance to the building that has just been like uh just blasted open uh and you start seeing uh uh very quickly you start seeing smoke start kind of billowing from like some of the uh the stacks and such as she begins lighting up uh the books this is a university library

[01:57:06] i assume there's a sprinkler system uh very likely yeah i look i'd look around the walls see if i can't find the uh pull handle for it uh roll a i'd say a haste if you're trying to do this quickly i mean as soon as it as soon as it's got heat on it it would have fired up this is true actually yeah but uh two two uh yeah you go to get to it uh and you um you you you bring it down

[02:03:51] grass nearby and burning them uh you're you're you're look you're starting to like feel like you're in a sauna being right next to her um she is she's she's getting hotter and hotter and like it's the the fires are getting more intense around her have we made it to the truck yet no you're about halfway uh and she's actually stopped about halfway because she can't yeah all right

[02:07:13] form they seem to have been cleansed of the uh uh of the werewolfism between the the inverted uh uh inverse inverted music and the uh uh and the the holy water blasted on them uh and that's as you're uh as you're just like shoo just like hand the uh hand the the hose back to uh uh to the the firefighter uh that's when you see when you guys all hear a thunderous like a distant thunderous

[02:07:40] kaboom and a at a gas explosion or the or the smoke or the black smoke of a gas explosion off in the distance like leo we gotta go it's shit all right fucking a-rate bud all right uh slap her back in the fucking first and uh i feel the disturbance

[02:08:06] uh it's like hearing millions of screams i'll silence at once i still have whatever on that car that's got it i've got full coverage it's fine okay so i get in the tires so that i could drift the car in a circle as he's hopping in the back yeah he's just like walking casually just like hops in barely gets bumped as you as you pull it as you do this drift

[02:08:35] the whole time barnabas and i was just having a grand old time in the back as you guys are driving the fire truck passes you to go ahead to that direction well i now am a volunteer firefighter uh and yeah you guys uh i think in in uh pretty short order you guys get down get over to the university where there is a large or the remains of a of a of a truck um a single tear

[02:09:03] and a billowing gas uh gas smoke in the air and uh there's this very intense light emanating from where the the bed of the truck was uh on the road um and uh sort of you can't all kind of see here this kind of like haunting sobbing uh coming from this this this light form uh and then you see lizzie on the other side like like ducked down uh kind of just now recovering from the blast yes single tear

[02:09:32] singles here i'm gonna oh go ahead i'm i just kind of just stare no i'm just like uh i knew it was a mistake um do you guys want to uh roll a uh intellect as you look on at the scene at this point again the fire truck is just again it stops abruptly and like people are all like at

[02:09:59] this point clearing out and getting away because this is like the weirdest like most horrible thing that they've ever experienced and the weirdest two weeks they've had yeah it's even worse than the than the weird like hospital attack that happened like two happened last like like last week that's a two for me i got a one you got a two adam you want to roll intelligence to see what happens

[02:10:22] oh sure i mean that's my strongest stat with two not quite one um all right i will say uh liam you yeah um uh lester and and calem you're looking on and just well calem you're just like my truck i'm too busy playing music yeah lester you're just like oh like i was like yeah you're you're like trying like you're like maybe if we keep playing music it'll work well i'm probably gonna

[02:10:48] switch over to something with a lower uh lower base and uh try and start smothering the flames but oh that's true yeah girl is on fire um you are able to like get rid of some of the the uh the the normal fire the preternatural fire that's emanating off this late this this little girl form uh not so much uh liam you see the form and you see like the radiating energy coming off of her this this radiating heat and and light and and flame um she it's it's getting

[02:11:15] worse uh by the second and if she's not contained she's gonna go it's going to go it's going to get much worse for this town oh fuck bud all right get the lantern i gotta i'm gonna pull the e-brake and hop out of the car as it like spins out off to the side grab the lantern stick out of the back

[02:11:39] seat yep and as i stride toward her i'm gonna slap the hockey stick on the ground and um encase myself in ice armor nice you want me to roll fire yes ice to see you what killed the dinosaurs the ice ice and you know what i'm gonna i'm gonna tap great white wizard on this one all right cool

[02:12:03] so you get a plus two on that uh so that player was a yeah it'd be a five yeah it'd be a five plus two all right uh yeah so you like just like yeah you kind of like like like tony stark in uh in endgame or in uh in infinity war when he uh uh he's on the street of manhattan he just like hit like taps the his chest thing and like uh the the suit starts like going over him uh it's like that

[02:12:27] except it's ice going over you nice okay um and uh yeah you uh you you're walking over you do know that you need to like do some uh you do need to kind of uh fix up the the lantern a little bit like it was okay i got this yeah i got this because uh conveniently i made a um uh this this vial

[02:12:51] this potion uh that repairs magical objects that i find i'm gonna tap that with my my enchanted item stunt okay so you're using another uh fate point to tap that aspect hell yeah i am okay yeah uh so i'm just gonna i'm just gonna pour it straight into the lantern let it glow a uh a brilliant blue and

[02:13:13] let it start repairing as i'm walking right towards this uh uh a glowing child thing yeah yeah this this glowing child um of light and flame um this you you hear this like haunting sob getting louder as you get closer um and uh you uh yeah you also hear like the popping and or this like popping and um um uh tinny

[02:13:39] this tinny sound as the uh as the machine as as the uh the lantern uh begins kind of like fixing itself in places like where it was like bent or or even like blackened window like the blackened glass and such like starts clearing up um and uh you you get a sense that like even the energy the magical matrices of the lanterns like enchantment is uh is actually revitalized as well and uh i do need you to roll a oh uh you get a plus two because you have that ice shield

[02:14:09] around you but i do need you to roll a force or a focus to get uh to get right up to her and and to stay there and not like basically to stay frosty okay okay of course so that's a four okay yep uh you are your your ice armor is is melting pretty quickly but you are man you do manage to keep frosty while you stay next to her uh it's kind of like one of those stun people who have like that

[02:14:37] gel on them while they're on fire yeah where you just feel you feel cold but you're on fire your ice armor is on fire um and uh yeah she she like this this you can just make out the the the facial features of this child as she turns her head to look at you and she's sobbing and she's uh

[02:14:59] make it stop daddy's gonna be so mad make it stop okay uh you also notice that she has uh you can see like in her in her hands uh her her glowing like uh amber and white hands you can see like the silver of the whistle um that she's holding so she still has it uh that probably can't go with

[02:15:21] her in the lantern but all right i'm going to um i gotta take some some combat wizard stress okay and uh i'm i'm going to uh uh put more more ice around my hand and reach out and try to take the uh take the whistle okay uh all right can i give him a bonus by playing something soothing do the okay yeah yeah

[02:15:49] yeah that that would work yeah or ice ice baby i was gonna say ice ice baby through the fire and the flames or uh or but something soothing might also be appropriate to kind of like lull the girl into like just letting him take it yeah well she's she's upset yeah she's upset this girl is on fire a little joke twice now christ okay my bad i wasn't paying attention i mean i got a little pixie front

[02:16:17] man so that's true yeah but yeah is that cool can i do that yeah no that that's basically that'll that'll uh basically if you depending on how well you roll that'll negate um uh aaron needing you make a roll for that and just like take it yeah that's a four that's four okay so on top of that and and uh aaron uh burning some uh some of his combat wizard stress to like augment his hands um yeah you basically

[02:16:45] she she doesn't give you like she doesn't like gesture to give you the whistle but you like manage to like take like uh grab onto it uh gently and and she doesn't resist so um and you uh you bring the the lantern in like like into like into to the front the forefront here and she just kind of like puts her hand inside the lantern and in a flash um all the light and like supernova that

[02:17:14] was happening on in the middle of the street or in the in the middle of the uh the middle of the road uh blinks out of existence and the lantern is closed like uh it just claps shut and uh is on like uh like it should be okay i gotta i gotta turn back and look at the guys and put both hands in the air and be like i think it's really warm in here yeah the what the the ice immediately just melts off

[02:17:43] off for you like sloughs off it's just slush let's get let's get this little girl and lamp and all this let's go to miss worms i gotta call my insurance agent um sorry i should have no no you don't know it's yours yet um you you see uh calem you you look over and like there's a uh the only thing that's left that's not slag is your license plate
