The Cousins have walked through the trial of the Mists, through thick and thin and come out the other side victorious. The Cult to Strahd has been broken apart and their plans to resurrect the Dread Lord prematurely has not only failed, but it is very likely the next cycle will see a very different outcome for the Valleys of Barovia. All that remains is to figure out what comes next for the kin of Granny Olssen, as they wake to a new misty dawn.

[00:00:10] Granny Olsen sees off the letters she has written to her distant kin, aware with a heavy
[00:00:16] heart that she is pulling them into a darkness she has spent many lifetimes protecting against.
[00:00:23] Alas, she is desperate as the old tricks are failing.
[00:00:28] So it's up to these cousins to venture beyond their mundane world and venture into
[00:00:34] the misty lands.
[00:00:36] As Ilsa looks regretfully away beyond Barovia, unaware of a shadow falling over her, the
[00:00:44] next step to redemption falls to these.
[00:00:48] Mistborn
[00:00:49] Hi, welcome to One Less Die, a Vossen actual play podcast.
[00:00:55] We are concluding our Ravenloft in Vossen campaign, Mistborn, with an E at the end.
[00:01:01] There's been an E at the end the whole time?
[00:01:04] Yeah.
[00:01:06] It is grammatically different from that other title, from that other author that Josh keeps
[00:01:12] bringing up.
[00:01:13] Just enough to avoid copyright.
[00:01:17] Yep.
[00:01:18] It's not a stargate, it's a fargate.
[00:01:22] Just like that movie.
[00:01:25] So yeah, when last we left off, you guys had defeated the cult of Strahd and rescued
[00:01:35] your captured cousins and twins.
[00:01:43] And you currently, you'd gone through what was left of the ancient Amber Temple up on
[00:01:50] Mount Glacchus and found Exentathor, well I'm never going to pronounce this guy's
[00:01:58] name.
[00:01:59] Exentathor's phylactery.
[00:02:05] So you have that at your disposal.
[00:02:09] He is currently bound in a circle with Petonius interviewing him, because Petonius
[00:02:16] likes to acquire undead lore and specimens.
[00:02:21] So what better source than a living and maybe not so breathing lich.
[00:02:27] I want to quote Linden.
[00:02:29] Unliving and maybe not so much breathing lich.
[00:02:32] So yeah, I believe last we left off you guys were going to figure out exactly how
[00:02:38] long you're going to let this lich live or leave it in Petonius' hands before heading
[00:02:46] on out to, I guess spread the good word that like the cult is gone and Strahd will not
[00:02:52] be returning prematurely.
[00:02:53] Ding dong, the witch is dead.
[00:02:57] Basically.
[00:02:59] So yeah, as you guys are entering back into the main chamber of the Amber Temple,
[00:03:06] you hear the melodious dulcimer tones of Petonius' unending questions to this lich.
[00:03:15] How many hours has it been?
[00:03:17] How many days has it been?
[00:03:18] It's only been like a few, probably only been like about an hour at most I think
[00:03:22] when you guys were searching for things and such.
[00:03:25] Excuse me, Game Master.
[00:03:28] I feel that we are remiss that you do not allow us to introduce our characters.
[00:03:33] As you're entering to talk to deal with like the lich and Petonius and all that stuff.
[00:03:41] Who are you guys and what are you doing here?
[00:03:44] Starting at the top.
[00:03:48] For a final go around, folks, this is Adam or Cries in the Row of Johan or John as
[00:03:56] we switch his name about here and there.
[00:03:59] He started off as a simple hunter from the hills of Eastern Kentucky.
[00:04:06] Throughout the course of this game, my dark secret came back to haunt me as plot 10
[00:04:16] was familiar with a lady from The Mists.
[00:04:21] Her name was Ursula, which I wrote on a sheet of paper and have had
[00:04:28] repeated to me multiple times throughout the course of this.
[00:04:31] I don't know if the Game Master has edited that to make me seem more competent,
[00:04:37] though I feel that he has not.
[00:04:38] OK, but it's been a real fun run.
[00:04:45] You know, my characters found a forgotten love, but wasn't forgot because he
[00:04:50] misplaced her, but because Granny Olsen did a little bit of a memory wipe on me.
[00:04:56] And so now I've.
[00:04:59] Accomplish what I thought for getting my ass handed to me several sessions
[00:05:05] for the first five or six sessions, it felt like I think I lived.
[00:05:09] Wait to see.
[00:05:10] So hopefully happy ending.
[00:05:19] Dave, you know, that's me.
[00:05:23] I'm Dave. I'm playing Dorothee at Connie's Mark, the doctor and
[00:05:30] sword wielding armor clad, although less armor clad by the end of it, because.
[00:05:36] I found that I was actually quicker without it, even though I almost died
[00:05:39] the second I took my.
[00:05:41] It was handy that you took that off, because otherwise you would have just
[00:05:44] fallen down that ravine much faster and much and would have ended
[00:05:48] your character much quicker.
[00:05:50] Oh, sure. But yes.
[00:05:54] She was just a doctor back in Newfoundland and ran into some supernatural.
[00:06:04] Going on in the area,
[00:06:06] save some supernatural creature from dying and got pulled into here.
[00:06:10] And through the course of the campaign,
[00:06:15] I've attempted to do good in combat in melee combat in Vossen,
[00:06:21] which seems like the dumbest thing to do because of how deadly everything is.
[00:06:25] In Vossen, it is a horror game. Yes, indeed.
[00:06:30] But yes, it's been fun regardless.
[00:06:34] And yeah, and I met a a werewolf.
[00:06:39] But his name, okay?
[00:06:42] Yes. See, see, Adam, this is like this is what it is when you remember
[00:06:47] your your your partner's name.
[00:06:51] It's not because I also had to write it down.
[00:06:56] I'm sorry, Adam, for shaming you. I'm sorry.
[00:06:58] It's OK. That's fine.
[00:07:01] But yeah, and that's about that.
[00:07:04] All right. And then next up, we have Josh.
[00:07:09] We do have Josh.
[00:07:13] For the last time, for the first time, for the last time.
[00:07:17] Wait, I am Lars Larsen.
[00:07:23] I am now apparently a triplet.
[00:07:26] And one of my brothers is a dog through sorceress shenanigans.
[00:07:31] Good old Jaeger.
[00:07:33] Yep. Oh, yes.
[00:07:35] He said, I guess I mean, I guess there was some claims to my mother being a bitch then.
[00:07:40] Wow.
[00:07:42] So seems we're calling Jaeger a good boy now.
[00:07:45] Yeah. Well, I mean, he's been a dog for like years.
[00:07:50] Look.
[00:07:53] Who's a good boy?
[00:07:54] Who? I don't know. Right.
[00:07:56] Who's a good brother? Who's a good brother?
[00:07:58] Who's a good bro? Who's a good bro?
[00:08:02] I'm the best bro.
[00:08:09] All right.
[00:08:10] That's it for Lars.
[00:08:12] OK, then we have a purple Dave.
[00:08:16] Hey there. So this David,
[00:08:19] I have been playing Sorin Hedrickson for the duration,
[00:08:23] who is totally just an old man from the hills of Appalachia.
[00:08:29] Of course, what else would it be?
[00:08:31] And totally not.
[00:08:34] I know. Well, it's strange.
[00:08:36] Well, we'll find out why later. Yeah.
[00:08:40] So. Well, who am I to judge?
[00:08:43] Yes.
[00:08:45] So, yeah.
[00:08:46] Yeah. Yeah.
[00:08:47] Petonius is going on and on.
[00:08:48] It's like, so so you just you give your information freely,
[00:08:52] like to any any person that comes in and asks, Oh, yes.
[00:08:56] Yes. I quite very much.
[00:08:58] Look. So and oh, friends, I've learned so much in the last hour.
[00:09:03] It's like he doesn't have to leave, does he?
[00:09:07] Says, OK, as you're walking in.
[00:09:10] So we have a thought.
[00:09:13] Oh, yes. Oh, oh, that looks like my flaktery.
[00:09:18] I'm going to use this voice now because the other one,
[00:09:21] like the GM couldn't pull off very well last time and had to stop midway.
[00:09:26] It works.
[00:09:28] He doesn't sound like an idiot now, though, is he?
[00:09:29] Supposed to sound like he was supposed to be like a befuddled
[00:09:33] like sort of like character because that kind of what like
[00:09:38] this lich is supposed to act like based off of the book.
[00:09:41] But so it seems that this temple is in disrepair
[00:09:48] and that its original use is falling down.
[00:09:54] And it feels like what we should do
[00:09:59] is change both of those things.
[00:10:02] Feels like we should restore it to its original glory.
[00:10:06] And a cabal of powerful
[00:10:10] sorcerers or sorcerer ask characters
[00:10:14] should move in and take over the whole
[00:10:19] keeping Strahd from showing up again thing.
[00:10:24] Or at least make sure that the cycle is observed properly.
[00:10:29] Oh, yes, I suppose.
[00:10:31] Whatever.
[00:10:33] Whatever.
[00:10:35] Whatever you say.
[00:10:35] I mean, when I first came here, I for what I recall, which is very spotty,
[00:10:41] most of the most of the wizards that have built this place
[00:10:45] were already dead and long gone or long since
[00:10:53] long, long since entombed.
[00:10:58] But you hold all the cards here.
[00:11:01] So as he says, as he's like his arms are still like kind of like
[00:11:05] stretched out down, like to the ground as if like they're held
[00:11:08] by invisible chains in the circle.
[00:11:12] It's not just like a wall around them.
[00:11:14] No, it's like it's like there's like sort of like a glowing,
[00:11:16] like pentacle circle or like underneath, like at his feet.
[00:11:20] And like his hands are just kind of like held out
[00:11:23] a little bit from his body as if he's being like held from like
[00:11:27] chains that are like anchored to the ground.
[00:11:32] But there are no chains.
[00:11:33] It's just like that's what is like how his his hand or his arms
[00:11:35] are like looking like.
[00:11:37] But Tony says like, well, if that's all well and good,
[00:11:40] but I would like to continue conversing with this this fellow
[00:11:44] and perhaps even gain more of the more of the lore
[00:11:49] and information that he has to tell about his lichdom and such
[00:11:53] and about the other undead creatures of the Misty Lands.
[00:11:57] Absolutely.
[00:11:58] In fact, you can have all of the conversation
[00:12:00] that you would like with him.
[00:12:02] I'm just going to hold on to this lovely little trinket.
[00:12:06] While you're having that conversation.
[00:12:10] And then when the time comes to return to this temple.
[00:12:17] I will return, I will bring this trinket and that nice
[00:12:23] I can't say young, that nice fellow will join me.
[00:12:29] We will be the first two.
[00:12:31] I don't have a picture.
[00:12:33] Sorry, who are you referring to, like when you said that, like the other.
[00:12:36] Just try to get the lich.
[00:12:37] OK. Yeah.
[00:12:37] Yeah. The lich and I are going to start the process of restoring this temple.
[00:12:44] OK. Yeah, the senile old lich is just like very, very good.
[00:12:55] It's your other option, honestly.
[00:12:57] I suppose. Yes.
[00:13:01] I mean, otherwise, I could just smash this now
[00:13:04] and you could go on to the happy whatever afterlife you've earned.
[00:13:10] I suppose that's true.
[00:13:13] But Tony's actually probably says that also.
[00:13:15] Well, when at some point in our in our little research thing here,
[00:13:21] I would like to have a look at that flat just to like get a get some
[00:13:24] just get some imagery, get some get some some notes on it.
[00:13:29] The whole fell actory of a lich is something I don't have quite in my my pocket yet.
[00:13:36] That's dangerous information, but Tony is and you know it.
[00:13:41] Yes. What? You don't trust the Tony's.
[00:13:44] I don't trust anybody with that particular information now.
[00:13:47] But Tony has has proven himself in the past, so we'll discuss it.
[00:13:52] There's a couple of concessions
[00:13:54] that we want to make sure are nailed down before.
[00:13:59] The phylactery is just handed over.
[00:14:03] I mean, by all means, like you can keep it.
[00:14:05] I just want to take some notes and some sketches, perhaps.
[00:14:11] Oh, yes, yes.
[00:14:13] Yes, yes, yes, yes.
[00:14:16] Oh, God, your character was Balgrim the whole time.
[00:14:18] So, yes, yes, yes, yes.
[00:14:20] That was an RPPR joke.
[00:14:23] The deep kind of RPPR actually think about it.
[00:14:29] So I'm not pro-tund enough to be Valgrim.
[00:14:32] No, no.
[00:14:34] So.
[00:14:37] Yeah, so you guys are just going to like, are you?
[00:14:40] So you're going to be leave or you're leaving, though,
[00:14:42] the temple to go back down to the block and such, right?
[00:14:44] Yes, we probably escort our cousins down to block as well.
[00:14:50] I mean, we've got the.
[00:14:53] Petonias, do you want to stay here and talk to the Litch?
[00:14:56] Or do you want to come back to block you with us?
[00:14:58] I would love to continue talking with this fine gentleman.
[00:15:02] This fine gentleman here.
[00:15:04] OK, can we borrow your wagon for like a couple of days
[00:15:07] and just bring it back with all of the supplies
[00:15:09] we're going to need for the first round of rebuilding and what not?
[00:15:13] But but it's that's but all my books.
[00:15:19] Actually, as you say that, the the old Litch is like, well, actually,
[00:15:25] if if you look in there's a there's a there's a compartment
[00:15:29] in the statue there, the the keeper of secrets.
[00:15:32] It points to the the giant, like central stone statue of this chamber
[00:15:37] that has like this sort of like hooded no face kind of look
[00:15:41] looking down at the court courtroom of the courtyard.
[00:15:45] Oh, it's got a keystroll wagon.
[00:15:47] Oh, well, actually, there's some some some amber talismans within
[00:15:51] that will summon spectral steeds that you could use.
[00:15:57] Oh, that's handy. Yes.
[00:15:59] I believe they belong to the original wizards of this of this temple.
[00:16:06] All righty.
[00:16:08] Everybody grab an amber charger and let's go.
[00:16:13] Yeah, you guys acquire find like the pretty quick order,
[00:16:17] like his points where it is and stuff and you find these
[00:16:20] these little amber amber medallions with like a horse skull kind of
[00:16:26] etched into it, into the into the iconography of it.
[00:16:30] And he explains you just need to like basically like flip the coin
[00:16:34] and it will it'll summon the steed.
[00:16:37] And and sure enough, once you do that,
[00:16:42] the medallions effectively transform into these large
[00:16:46] spectral skeletal mounts,
[00:16:50] not unlike for for the yellow Dave and Josh.
[00:16:54] For for the yellow Dave and Josh, not unlike case from Warframe.
[00:16:59] Oh, OK, cool.
[00:17:01] Like kind of like these like, yeah, these sort of like
[00:17:03] very like arcane skeletal steeds.
[00:17:07] Does mine have a sidecar for the egg?
[00:17:09] Yes. There's a side bag.
[00:17:15] Hold on, Tony is.
[00:17:18] Oh, wait, are we which I got to ask him something in a minute.
[00:17:21] I walk back inside.
[00:17:22] Yeah, keep going. Yeah.
[00:17:25] Oh yeah. So you go back in and he's still like just on and on
[00:17:28] and then you have to interrupt him.
[00:17:32] I had to interrupt the game master to do this.
[00:17:36] Tony is.
[00:17:39] Would you believe that Lars's dog is actually his brother?
[00:17:45] Really? Yeah.
[00:17:47] And apparently, he's been.
[00:17:49] Curious. No, that I wasn't supposed to know that.
[00:17:54] Oh, no, I think you people didn't know that.
[00:17:57] He's jokingly saying, oh, yeah, yeah.
[00:17:59] So he is.
[00:18:00] Swedish.
[00:18:02] But what I always I was I was assumed that the dog was had
[00:18:06] some kind of some kind of enchantment or something about it.
[00:18:10] Like I could read its aura through my sense eyes.
[00:18:14] I guess you guys know already.
[00:18:16] Yes, my sensors.
[00:18:18] But yes,
[00:18:20] I was my friends a bit overwhelmed at the moment
[00:18:24] and didn't quite think of it to hear.
[00:18:27] Did you happen to know of a way that,
[00:18:30] you know, say somebody could turn a dog back into a human?
[00:18:36] Ah, well, I I don't know.
[00:18:41] Personally, personally, I don't.
[00:18:43] I deal in necromancy and necrobiology, not
[00:18:48] transmogrification or polymorphine or something like.
[00:18:51] But I could send out word you are you
[00:18:56] you gentlemen and lady are returning to Earth, correct?
[00:19:01] That's what I'm.
[00:19:03] That's what I'm figuring.
[00:19:04] But to be honest with you,
[00:19:07] we haven't quite made up our minds yet, all of us here.
[00:19:10] But I just before we wrote off and I regretted not asking you,
[00:19:15] I wanted to take a moment to check with you and.
[00:19:19] Well, I do have a connection or two back at Earth.
[00:19:23] I think at the time that you will be returning
[00:19:27] that I could send I could send out a letter for and have them
[00:19:32] set up a meeting between you and between your folk and and
[00:19:37] if you wish, they're much more in
[00:19:40] it's more much more their expertise than than I.
[00:19:43] Ah, and well, I appreciate it.
[00:19:47] Well, listen, sir, it's been it's been the utmost pleasure.
[00:19:50] We definitely couldn't have made it
[00:19:52] without off helping God think or.
[00:19:58] Helping us along and he kind of just looks at the lich and goes.
[00:20:04] You're you're you're all right, I guess.
[00:20:08] You'd be good now.
[00:20:09] Thank you. Thank you, young man.
[00:20:11] I will.
[00:20:13] Well, not but not too good, I hope.
[00:20:18] He kind of tries to like awkwardly like chuckle at that.
[00:20:21] Yeah.
[00:20:23] It's very awkward with him.
[00:20:24] Yeah.
[00:20:26] Well, boys, I'll see you later.
[00:20:28] I do want to apologize.
[00:20:30] I just thought that we should check here before we, you know, for Jaeger.
[00:20:37] Jaeger shall remain destined to be a dog.
[00:20:41] Never.
[00:20:41] Goes back and then, oh, shit, we forgot to see if we can fix.
[00:20:46] Yeah, Jaeger is like, yeah, yeah, you jerks.
[00:20:51] The dogs don't live that long.
[00:20:53] When you say that, I would like to point out that
[00:20:57] the word fix and dog should not be put together.
[00:21:01] Yeah, yeah, I was thinking that too.
[00:21:03] I just didn't want to.
[00:21:04] I didn't want to be the one to mention it.
[00:21:07] Whoops.
[00:21:08] Yeah, just take my what?
[00:21:09] What did you take my testicle, bro?
[00:21:12] Yeah.
[00:21:13] I thought you were a dog.
[00:21:14] You were a dog.
[00:21:16] Oh, so it's just okay to take.
[00:21:18] No, but so yeah, back to the scene.
[00:21:22] I will do, I will wave smile walk outside at large.
[00:21:26] I just checked to see if he knew how to, uh, to fix Jaeger.
[00:21:30] He doesn't door tape.
[00:21:32] Will you help me flip my horse back into a coin when we get back to town?
[00:21:36] Sure.
[00:21:37] Yeah.
[00:21:37] How do we turn these back into coins?
[00:21:39] You do notice that there's like the medallion is like,
[00:21:44] you notice there's a medallion on the bridle that you can just pull off.
[00:21:50] And as soon as you try it immediately,
[00:21:53] like sort of like in caporelates and like turns into like an amber mist before like disappearing.
[00:22:03] And then you flip the coin again and it resummons the skeletal speed.
[00:22:09] So, okay.
[00:22:10] Good.
[00:22:11] We still have those quarters to the gumball machine.
[00:22:12] Perfect.
[00:22:13] Yeah.
[00:22:17] So yeah.
[00:22:18] So you guys are taking flight with your various cousins and what have you.
[00:22:25] Actually, as you guys are about to take off,
[00:22:27] you guys do hear the cawing and crowing of ravens as three ravens fly up from up the
[00:22:38] mountain trail that you're about to head up, head down.
[00:22:41] And as they reach you guys,
[00:22:45] they turn into a through the shadow and mist become three humanoid beings.
[00:22:54] The old woman from down near Berez and the two Makarov twin or like the Makarov children.
[00:23:03] It appears actually even that one of the kids no longer has a need for his crutch
[00:23:09] as he seems to be walking and flying normally again.
[00:23:15] But his leg is recovered.
[00:23:16] Yes.
[00:23:18] Oh, and so this is the old woman.
[00:23:21] I cannot remember her name again.
[00:23:22] God damn it.
[00:23:25] But yeah, she's like, oh, you've made it.
[00:23:29] You've dealt with the cult, it seems.
[00:23:33] Yeah.
[00:23:35] They've all been dealt with rather finally with the exception of,
[00:23:40] well, the captured lich.
[00:23:43] And I have a proposal as far as he is concerned because he seems
[00:23:49] mostly harmless.
[00:23:52] Yes, that old fool is he even in his even in his prime, he is not a physical threat.
[00:24:00] It's more or less his,
[00:24:03] his generosity is what gets the is what seems to always get the better of Barovia
[00:24:09] is, is, uh, he has a very, very open, uh, open source methodology to knowledge.
[00:24:21] Which is fair.
[00:24:22] But that is going to be very helpful for the new Amber order.
[00:24:29] She kind of just like why does I'm sorry, a new Amber order?
[00:24:33] Yes.
[00:24:35] The new Amber order that is going to watch over Barovia.
[00:24:38] Interesting.
[00:24:43] Very well.
[00:24:43] Yes.
[00:24:46] So we were, we came up here to make sure you guys were all right or at least to check in and such.
[00:24:51] And do you want us to fly?
[00:24:54] Or I can have one of the some of the boys fly back and spread the word until you as we're,
[00:25:00] as we're heading back.
[00:25:02] Oh, yes, that would be lovely.
[00:25:04] And we can talk on the ride down.
[00:25:10] Splendid.
[00:25:11] Yes, we'll need to discuss this.
[00:25:15] And figure things out.
[00:25:16] Boys.
[00:25:17] And yes, so basically what do you want the boys to relay back down to Vlaki as you guys are
[00:25:23] heading back down that way?
[00:25:24] The cult is no more.
[00:25:27] They have been vanquished.
[00:25:29] The threat of Strahd rising up early is no longer a threat.
[00:25:39] Sunshine, lollipops, rainbows, all that stuff, you know.
[00:25:42] Yeah.
[00:25:44] Things that don't normally appear in Barovia are about to happen.
[00:25:47] Like also that we are looking for craftsmen, masons, you know.
[00:25:56] Possibly carpenters, people who can help us to turn
[00:26:01] that decrepit site into a livable place again.
[00:26:08] And we're also looking for scholars, people who actually want
[00:26:12] to stand against the rise of Strahd.
[00:26:19] The new Amber Order is going to be recruiting.
[00:26:23] Okay, so with that information, does anybody else want to send any other word down?
[00:26:30] Or are you guys letting Sorin do all the orchestration?
[00:26:38] That's pretty much it, right?
[00:26:39] Mm-hmm.
[00:26:42] You don't want to let, or Yohan, especially if we were in that,
[00:26:45] don't want to let the wolf pack know that you guys are all right?
[00:26:54] I was waiting my turn.
[00:26:58] That's why I was asking.
[00:27:01] Anyone else?
[00:27:02] Like, we have very, very able messenger boys right here.
[00:27:07] Yeah, they kind of puff up their chests a bit with a bit of pride.
[00:27:11] But yeah, Dorotea, would you like to send a message down to your—
[00:27:18] Werewolf with benefits?
[00:27:20] Yes, the werewolf with benefits.
[00:27:22] The words weren't coming to me, so Dave.
[00:27:26] Dave?
[00:27:28] Dave?
[00:27:29] I was muted, I'm here.
[00:27:32] I've been saying words.
[00:27:35] God damn it.
[00:27:36] It's fine.
[00:27:40] All right, so for those of you at home, just imagine two middle-aged men,
[00:27:45] two men that are unfortunately approaching it,
[00:27:47] and a small child sitting around with one of them muted.
[00:27:53] A small child?
[00:27:54] Really?
[00:27:54] Jesus Christ.
[00:27:55] Josh makes me sound like I'm ancient.
[00:27:57] Come on!
[00:27:59] That's fair.
[00:28:00] 20 year difference.
[00:28:04] All right, anyways.
[00:28:05] I'm two years older than Josh.
[00:28:07] I know that offhand because you're the same age as my father.
[00:28:10] Okay, well Josh, I didn't really want you to find out.
[00:28:15] There was this one time I went up to Canada.
[00:28:20] Aaron is like that.
[00:28:21] You make me feel ancient.
[00:28:22] Like, a young kid.
[00:28:26] I'm gonna be 24 this year.
[00:28:28] Yeah, I mean, yeah.
[00:28:31] I'm sorry, Josh.
[00:28:32] I do it out of love and out of jazz.
[00:28:35] I just had a picture of Dave just sitting there talking,
[00:28:38] and I saw at a table looking at each other confused.
[00:28:40] And then, you know.
[00:28:42] What's he saying?
[00:28:47] If I play a game with you in person, I will do that.
[00:28:50] All right, I'm breaking.
[00:28:51] I'm getting this back on course.
[00:28:53] Dave, what did you want Dorothy to say?
[00:28:55] Oh, we refuse to be on course.
[00:28:57] Josh, don't make me throw you out of this call.
[00:29:01] What I was going to say was, rather what I was saying is,
[00:29:04] since we're probably going to be sending one of them back
[00:29:08] to the werewolves camp.
[00:29:11] Do they have a name for their camp?
[00:29:12] They're just the pack, honestly.
[00:29:14] They don't really have too many names for things.
[00:29:21] If one of them is going to be going back to the pack,
[00:29:23] then yes, I would like to let Ulfren know that
[00:29:27] I've survived the encounter.
[00:29:29] Considering when we were leaving out,
[00:29:32] I was kind of like, I don't know,
[00:29:33] I might not be able to do something like this.
[00:29:37] Is kind of the vibe I was going with.
[00:29:42] Things are fine.
[00:29:46] I'm unsure whether or not I'm going back
[00:29:49] to where I came from or not.
[00:29:51] But I'm sure Johan and I will be stopping by before we leave
[00:29:59] if we're both leaving, because Johan might be staying.
[00:30:05] All right.
[00:30:09] Lars, do you have anything to say down there,
[00:30:11] or like to bring up down for the people before you arrive?
[00:30:18] I don't talk to people.
[00:30:20] So the children in a flurry of shadow and mist
[00:30:26] turn back into ravens and swoop down the mountain trail
[00:30:32] and through the crags and ravines out of sight into the mists.
[00:30:37] What you all notice kind of seems a little bit more...
[00:30:42] The mists of Barovia have always kind of been ever-present.
[00:30:46] It's always kind of been like an ever-present kind of gloom
[00:30:49] about the world.
[00:30:50] It seems a lot lighter these days
[00:30:53] as you've left the Amber Temple and such.
[00:30:57] And yeah, you hop onto your Amber steeds
[00:31:02] with your twins and cousins in tow.
[00:31:07] I imagine on either their own steeds
[00:31:09] or on the back, whatever extra space you guys have
[00:31:15] on your steeds.
[00:31:15] They're pretty big steeds.
[00:31:18] And you take off down the mountain trail
[00:31:21] at a surprisingly fast but not worrying gait.
[00:31:29] And you make it back within about half the time
[00:31:32] it took you to get up here from Laki.
[00:31:36] Do all of us know how to ride horses?
[00:31:39] Even if you don't, it seems like these horses are like...
[00:31:43] There's something supernatural about them
[00:31:44] that enchants them to allow even somebody
[00:31:47] who has never ridden a horse be able to ride them.
[00:31:51] These horses are supernatural?
[00:31:52] I never would have guessed.
[00:31:53] Yeah, these amber arcane spectral creatures.
[00:31:58] These World of Warcraft mounts.
[00:32:00] These legendary World of Warcraft mounts
[00:32:02] that I've given you.
[00:32:03] Considering the year that we're from,
[00:32:05] we probably all know how to ride a horse anyways.
[00:32:07] That's true, yeah.
[00:32:09] But yeah, you take down the mountain trails
[00:32:15] effectively preceded by a call
[00:32:19] from up at the very highest point of the mountain
[00:32:21] as the rock lets out a mighty crow,
[00:32:25] signifying a change in the wind.
[00:32:30] And yeah, you guys get down in about...
[00:32:33] Probably it takes about a full day to get back to Vellaki
[00:32:36] at the speed and grace that these steeds are going.
[00:32:40] And by the time you reach the gates to Vellaki,
[00:32:45] you can hear sort of like the commotions of celebration
[00:32:49] from within the walls.
[00:32:51] And even like various outlying farms
[00:32:54] and homes beyond the walls of Vellaki,
[00:32:57] people come out and greet you.
[00:33:00] Mostly at first out of the spectacle
[00:33:02] of like these glowing arcane horses,
[00:33:04] but also at like recognizing the power
[00:33:07] of arcane horses, but also at like recognizing who you are,
[00:33:11] they begin cheering for you.
[00:33:15] And again, the sun begins peeking out
[00:33:17] a little bit more through the graying clouds.
[00:33:21] And as you're sort of paraded into the...
[00:33:25] Like through the main western gates of Vellaki,
[00:33:32] you guys see down the road,
[00:33:35] the main strip of Vellaki and near the town square,
[00:33:41] there are men, women, children, wolves,
[00:33:49] and even some...
[00:33:52] Well, actually you guys can roll a vigilance one last time.
[00:33:58] Oh, yes.
[00:34:00] Now how does this work, Chris?
[00:34:01] Chris?
[00:34:07] Oh guys, I'm sorry.
[00:34:10] Johan has a heart attack.
[00:34:11] It falls off his steed and is crushed.
[00:34:14] Trampled?
[00:34:15] Yeah.
[00:34:18] Unfortunately, he was the first in line,
[00:34:20] so he got trampled by all doors.
[00:34:22] It's not good news.
[00:34:23] Yeah, it was very...
[00:34:24] It was strangely comedic.
[00:34:28] All right.
[00:34:29] Try to stop.
[00:34:31] He died as he lived, clowning.
[00:34:38] Lars just like, specifically just like veered for him.
[00:34:46] Sorry.
[00:34:50] I'm sorry.
[00:34:52] My god, already doing better than last time.
[00:34:54] I got a hit.
[00:34:56] Nice.
[00:34:57] Zero hits.
[00:34:59] Zero hits.
[00:35:01] I've got two.
[00:35:02] Okay.
[00:35:06] So Lars, you see heads kind of...
[00:35:12] Little heads popping up from like around like hidden corners
[00:35:17] or like on top of rooftops like the...
[00:35:20] With long pointy ears and green wool caps
[00:35:26] as it seems like some of the marrow have kind of popped up into town to witness the celebrations.
[00:35:32] And Soren, you also see this, but you also see a couple of...
[00:35:38] You see one particular, particularly large head poking out from the main...
[00:35:43] From like one of the closest timber walls of Vallaki's town
[00:35:47] as Fredrickson has also decided to like come by
[00:35:52] and just like kind of have a gander at like all the celebrations.
[00:35:56] Sort of like the giant spirit of Christmas present from the Disney version of Christmas Carol.
[00:36:09] No, no.
[00:36:10] That's the only good one.
[00:36:12] How dare.
[00:36:15] But yeah, it seems like a lot of the...
[00:36:18] It seems like people in Barovia for the first time in centuries, millennia, eons,
[00:36:26] there is a culmination of peoples coming together after a blight has assailed the lands.
[00:36:39] And yeah, you're greeted by the mayor,
[00:36:45] by the matron that was in charge of the orphanarium with her and all the kids and
[00:36:50] some of that, the Markov family, the owners of the Blue Water Inn,
[00:36:57] otherwise known as the...
[00:36:58] Otherwise, as you know, the were ravens.
[00:37:01] And Johan's pack of werewolves are in the street.
[00:37:06] And there's some people that look a little on edge.
[00:37:09] And certainly you see that on the other opposite side of the street from the wolves
[00:37:14] are those two like hunter bros that are like just giving that all those wolves kind of like
[00:37:20] a very kind of cautious and maybe even peeved Claire.
[00:37:26] Like glaring daggers at them?
[00:37:28] Yeah.
[00:37:29] Just like untrusting in such a way in those regards.
[00:37:34] What do you want to interrupt?
[00:37:36] Going back a second.
[00:37:38] It said orphanarium.
[00:37:40] Yeah, there's like an orphanarium.
[00:37:41] The first thing that popped into my mind was an aquarium of orphans.
[00:37:47] Nice.
[00:37:49] Oh my God.
[00:37:52] But that is an old term for an orphanage.
[00:37:54] I don't doubt it.
[00:37:56] That was the first thing that crossed my mind and I struggled.
[00:38:00] And here's our glass...
[00:38:03] Here's our glass habitation center for the orphans.
[00:38:07] It's like a terrarium, but it's an orphanarium.
[00:38:11] God damn it.
[00:38:11] They filled them with water so that they would swim or drown.
[00:38:16] Oh, at the very least, it'll be revealed which one of them was a changeling to Marrows.
[00:38:24] Oh God.
[00:38:25] I will say Josh, thank you because that's the first time that I've ever actually had that
[00:38:29] idea pop in my head about the word orphanarium.
[00:38:35] Now you will never forget it.
[00:38:37] God damn it.
[00:38:40] What you're supposed to say is thank you, Josh.
[00:38:41] Well, you did actually.
[00:38:42] I actually just did.
[00:38:43] I thanked him and then I said, God damn it.
[00:38:48] So yeah, there is sort of a big celebration as you guys return into town after the Markovs
[00:38:57] let everyone know what had happened on Mount Clackus and the situation.
[00:39:02] It seems like the mayor has designated that Vallaki will allow,
[00:39:06] as long as there is no violence from either side, he is willing to allow some of the non-human
[00:39:13] parties of Barovia within the walls.
[00:39:20] That's a huge step in the right direction considering when we got here they had a...
[00:39:26] You found like wolf skulls and like they formerly had wolf heads on pikes and such.
[00:39:32] Yes.
[00:39:33] Yes.
[00:39:37] But yeah, so there's a big feast that night.
[00:39:42] So if you guys want to try and...
[00:39:44] If you would like to do anything during this time,
[00:39:46] this is sort of like just a time of mingling and celebration.
[00:39:51] After the toasts, I would like to get everybody's attention and make a big announcement.
[00:39:59] Okay.
[00:40:00] Specifically about the new Amber Order and how we are...
[00:40:05] Or the good news is that we have vanquished the cult of Strahd.
[00:40:10] They are no more.
[00:40:12] And we believe as a whole that the only way that we are going to keep them from
[00:40:22] rearing up again is through constant unending vigilance.
[00:40:27] And to that end, we would like to introduce the idea of the new Amber Order.
[00:40:33] We are taking applications.
[00:40:36] We are basically having tryouts for those who wish to join.
[00:40:41] We will accept anyone from any walk of life and that
[00:40:46] those of us who have come to this world from another world
[00:40:51] are going to be going home.
[00:40:52] However, I am not going to be going back to the old earth because Barovia is my home.
[00:41:03] Barovia has always actually been my home because this is not my face.
[00:41:11] I'm going to grab it and pull it off.
[00:41:16] Okay.
[00:41:17] I'm sorry, what?
[00:41:19] So yeah, do you want me to describe this or do you want to describe
[00:41:22] the gory details of how you transform?
[00:41:26] Oh, please.
[00:41:27] Please do.
[00:41:28] Okay.
[00:41:28] Let me just pull up my DM that you sent me about this.
[00:41:33] So in a rather boisterous and theatrical yet gory fashion,
[00:41:43] Sorin just digs his claw into his own face and as blood starts dripping from the wounds,
[00:41:50] he just rips off his own face like skin and flesh and all to reveal the de-glamored form
[00:42:00] of this being.
[00:42:05] Unfortunately, those closest to Sorin, I do in quotes,
[00:42:14] are just sprayed with blood in viscera
[00:42:17] and the remains of the fur pelts and stuff that he used as his clothing.
[00:42:24] And then this being is just kind of, as you guys are wiping your eyes from all the red you have on you,
[00:42:33] there's this being just kind of casually brushing off skin bits and the remnants of muscle and
[00:42:40] the outfit off of his sleeves and such.
[00:42:46] As if it was a bit of spider webbing.
[00:42:52] So everybody roll for your check.
[00:42:54] Yeah, I already had Dice in, man.
[00:42:56] I was getting the dice out.
[00:42:58] I somehow got a hit.
[00:43:00] Wow.
[00:43:03] This is when I somehow get a hit while super mundane things like,
[00:43:09] do you see that over there?
[00:43:11] Nah.
[00:43:12] I don't see it.
[00:43:13] Just like I always do.
[00:43:14] What do I roll for fear?
[00:43:17] You roll either empathy or logic with everybody, with every player except for David.
[00:43:24] Yeah, so plus two.
[00:43:26] Yeah.
[00:43:29] Plus one for the dog.
[00:43:29] Technically Jaeger counts.
[00:43:31] For you, yeah, sure.
[00:43:34] I got a cheesecake.
[00:43:36] Nice.
[00:43:36] I hate guys.
[00:43:37] I'm going to have to get a little bit of a
[00:43:45] nice.
[00:43:51] Also, David, I do want you to roll a...
[00:43:57] What's the one?
[00:44:01] You can either use magic or you could also do...
[00:44:07] What's the one rule for this?
[00:44:09] Inspiration to make sure that the crowd takes this
[00:44:13] or to kind of mitigate crowd collateral on things.
[00:44:18] Yeah, let's see if we can mitigate the fear just a little bit because...
[00:44:26] Let this be the role you bomb.
[00:44:30] Watch.
[00:44:32] Yeah, no, didn't bomb it.
[00:44:34] That's actually 460.
[00:44:41] That feels a lot better.
[00:44:44] Big smile.
[00:44:45] Yeah, do you want me to...
[00:44:47] David, would you like me to show them the sketch I did of your character?
[00:44:51] Yes, please.
[00:44:52] Okay.
[00:44:55] Now bear in mind, the facial hair should not be there.
[00:44:59] I put that on there before David corrected me on what it would look like.
[00:45:06] But yeah, that's what Sorin or as he is actually known as...
[00:45:14] Malvodon.
[00:45:20] That's what he looks like.
[00:45:22] So would you like to describe your new form there, Malvodon?
[00:45:28] Yes.
[00:45:29] So all of the age is just gone.
[00:45:34] In place it's a very ageless looking person.
[00:45:39] Skin and hair are not the same colors.
[00:45:43] They're more aquaticy, shall we say.
[00:45:48] I've got the same eyes as mom.
[00:45:50] More teeth than the Osmond family.
[00:45:52] And the wardrobe is also way more upscale.
[00:45:55] Instead of buckskin pants that I stitched together myself.
[00:45:59] Seamless leather trousers and a king's ransom in silk and silver.
[00:46:04] No gloves.
[00:46:05] No gloves.
[00:46:07] No gloves whatsoever.
[00:46:09] I do have rather pointy, pointy claws at the ends of my fingers.
[00:46:14] And I think that we're going to go with webbing between them.
[00:46:19] Because let's be fair, the Fomor are broadly aquatic.
[00:46:24] Yeah, makes sense.
[00:46:27] Also, I think it would be just...
[00:46:30] I like the personal touch that I tossed into the sketch.
[00:46:33] That your cane...
[00:46:34] You still do have the cane, right?
[00:46:36] The ruined cane.
[00:46:36] Oh yes.
[00:46:37] It has the...
[00:46:39] It's a bit of a gnarled stick.
[00:46:43] Sorry, continue.
[00:46:44] Yeah.
[00:46:45] Oh no, go ahead.
[00:46:46] Oh yeah, so the ruined staff that is no longer in gnarled cane,
[00:46:50] it's now this more prim and proper befitting fey royalty.
[00:46:58] It also now is capped with a crystal orb
[00:47:02] that belonged to a certain mobile home dwelling witch.
[00:47:13] Very nice.
[00:47:14] But yeah, as he is...
[00:47:17] As Malvedon has revealed his full form,
[00:47:20] that's when out of the woodwork,
[00:47:22] a bunch of the marrow that were just kind of like hiding in the shadows of Vallaki
[00:47:27] kind of just like pop up.
[00:47:29] And at first everybody's like...
[00:47:30] It jump scares a bunch of people.
[00:47:33] I draw my sword.
[00:47:36] It's an invasion.
[00:47:37] But then they're all just kind of like hopping around,
[00:47:40] not in any kind of threatening manner,
[00:47:41] but they're shouting,
[00:47:42] Malvedon! Malvedon! Malvedon!
[00:47:49] Just gonna sign hi to my human friends.
[00:47:52] And be like, uh-huh.
[00:47:57] I apologize for that deception,
[00:48:01] but it was necessary, my friends.
[00:48:04] Also, I want to just point out Granny Olson,
[00:48:08] who welcomed you guys into town as well
[00:48:09] because they made it back to the town and such
[00:48:12] with Tom the ghoul and...
[00:48:16] Was it Tom or was it Ted?
[00:48:18] I think it was Ted.
[00:48:19] Ted and Ted the ghoul.
[00:48:21] Although now that I think about it, it should have been Tom.
[00:48:23] Anyways, Ted the ghoul and stuff like that.
[00:48:25] She looks like she spat out whatever she was eating or drinking.
[00:48:30] And is just like, why does it...
[00:48:32] What?
[00:48:33] Like, she apparently was taken by surprise
[00:48:38] just as much as the rest of you guys.
[00:48:41] That's not comforting.
[00:48:43] Shouldn't she know?
[00:48:48] You look to her and she's just like,
[00:48:50] I... What happened to Sorin?
[00:48:56] Oh, the real Sorin was taken under hill when this deception began.
[00:49:01] That was when he was approximately 20 of your years old.
[00:49:08] I...
[00:49:09] And he will be returned to you, you have my assurance.
[00:49:13] But it's been me here this whole time
[00:49:18] because I was needed.
[00:49:21] A dude playing a dude playing another dude.
[00:49:24] I apologize for the deception,
[00:49:26] for my charade, but my presence here was absolutely necessary.
[00:49:36] And I stand by all of the promises that I made
[00:49:40] while I was wearing this face lifting it up.
[00:49:51] Yeah, people are kind of like...
[00:49:54] They're being placated by your charisma or magics.
[00:50:02] But you can definitely...
[00:50:04] This is definitely unsettled a few people,
[00:50:06] but they're not taking it as badly as they definitely could have.
[00:50:12] Certainly your cousins are kind of having the truest of reactions
[00:50:16] in terms of the full-blown reaction rather than like the crowd.
[00:50:21] Lean over to Lars.
[00:50:22] You're human, right?
[00:50:23] No, they should be like...
[00:50:30] It's like you're from Toronto, right?
[00:50:33] It's like, well actually I'm Swedish.
[00:50:35] What?
[00:50:43] Well, this was unexpected, but it doesn't change anything, cousin.
[00:50:56] And it doesn't change my aim.
[00:50:57] I will keep Barovia safe for as long as I must.
[00:51:05] There's going to be a new Barovia,
[00:51:08] a Barovia where the fae and humanity can live in harmony,
[00:51:16] where the threat of Strahd rising from the tomb is not the ever-present menace.
[00:51:28] The people of Barovia deserve a chance to breathe again.
[00:51:32] All right.
[00:51:32] I would like one more inspiration check there, Maldovia or Malvadon.
[00:51:41] Not Maldovia, Malvadon.
[00:51:48] I'll do like the razor roof motion.
[00:51:55] Oh hey look, that's four sixes.
[00:51:58] Yeah, people begin sort of like...
[00:52:01] It starts slow like the tide,
[00:52:04] and then progressively there is a cheer across the crowds.
[00:52:10] And people are honestly just happy that you're not going to suck their blood
[00:52:16] or tear out their jugulars or raise their towns to the ground.
[00:52:24] It's a low bar, but...
[00:52:26] Yeah.
[00:52:26] Welcome to Barovia.
[00:52:28] It's a very low bar, but we're going to soar over that one.
[00:52:33] We're soaring over that one?
[00:52:38] I like that.
[00:52:41] So yeah, after a few moments of cleanup,
[00:52:49] some maros come over and start kind of just cleaning up things around Malvadon.
[00:52:55] You know what?
[00:52:55] Out of the...
[00:52:59] Out from between some of the buildings,
[00:53:03] a elegant tall woman, similar in nature to the new Soren slash Malvadon,
[00:53:14] comes up to join Malvadon and
[00:53:17] gives everybody a low greeting bow.
[00:53:26] I'm going to match that bow except a lot deeper.
[00:53:31] Dear, it's so good to see you in your true form.
[00:53:36] And these must be your cousins that I've heard so much about.
[00:53:42] While smiling...
[00:53:43] Your air quotes a thing back then.
[00:53:46] Because nowadays I would just silently air quote while looking scared and confused.
[00:53:52] But that's not a thing back then.
[00:53:54] Well, yeah, you effectively do something like that.
[00:53:56] And she's like, cousins aren't always blood, dear.
[00:54:01] That's true.
[00:54:03] Yeah, and she's smiling with the smile of a shark.
[00:54:08] There's far too many rows of teeth in her mouth.
[00:54:12] And her eyes are just like jet black, much like Malvadon.
[00:54:18] But yeah, she gives you guys all a courteous greeting and sits down alongside you guys.
[00:54:27] Some of the marrows kind of come up a little bit more and hang out.
[00:54:32] Oh, hello there.
[00:54:34] Yeah.
[00:54:35] So, Lars, what?
[00:54:39] Are you strolling up to the...
[00:54:41] Oh, come on.
[00:54:43] I was going to say the whole like, hello there.
[00:54:47] What happened?
[00:54:54] But yeah, so is there any...
[00:54:56] And obviously like the werewolves are there as well.
[00:54:58] So I'll say you and your wolfoo and your cub are also there together.
[00:55:11] Yeah, Hans.
[00:55:13] They're there.
[00:55:13] That's a pain, Chris.
[00:55:14] You should know things.
[00:55:16] Yes, Chris.
[00:55:17] I'm sorry, Dorotea just dies.
[00:55:23] Slips on some of the viscera.
[00:55:27] Just like knocks her head open.
[00:55:32] So yeah, it's basically like Vossen and humans at a banquet of victory in the center of this town.
[00:55:42] Is there anything Dorotea or Lars, for that matter, would like to do with this gathering?
[00:55:54] Well, if I may be so bold as to jump in here.
[00:55:56] So while the Ewoks are playing on the skulls of stormtroopers...
[00:56:01] Yeah, the marrows are just like, yep, yep.
[00:56:04] Oh, me going about will...
[00:56:12] No, me going about.
[00:56:13] Fuck that.
[00:56:13] I'll go like, excuse myself for my cousins and my twin apparently that I haven't spoken to.
[00:56:22] Oh yeah, sorry, I apologize.
[00:56:26] No, there's nothing to apologize for.
[00:56:28] Yeah, he introduced himself as...
[00:56:31] I gotta pull up the names.
[00:56:33] As Jacob Anderson.
[00:56:37] Yeah, I look over at Jacob and go, we'll catch up.
[00:56:42] I'll take care of Granny.
[00:56:44] She's taking the whole Soren thing a little hard.
[00:56:49] I've got him.
[00:56:50] I've got him, brother.
[00:56:51] I appreciate it.
[00:56:54] And then I'll kind of make my way over, you know, child runs for daddy.
[00:57:01] Pick him up, swing him around, even though he's probably quite...
[00:57:08] I can't remember how old he is.
[00:57:11] I think he was like around 12-ish.
[00:57:13] Yeah, so I mean, goddamn.
[00:57:15] That's... let me tell you from somebody who has an 11 year old.
[00:57:20] Yeah, he's about like preteen-ish at this time.
[00:57:25] Well, I will pick him up by his arms.
[00:57:27] I'll lean over and like bear a hug, spin around, kind of.
[00:57:32] Oh, I'm over here.
[00:57:39] But then, you know, make it over to Ursula.
[00:57:46] I think we're done.
[00:57:48] About where, I mean, my cousin's this grim, dark work.
[00:57:54] Yeah, she's smiling, just very, very...
[00:57:59] Just overwhelmed with emotion.
[00:58:01] And gives you a large embrace.
[00:58:06] And is like, so when will we be moving the pack?
[00:58:12] Is that still the plan or are you staying here with us or are we going with you?
[00:58:20] We can always go back if you don't like it.
[00:58:23] But we need to get my niece to her father, my brother.
[00:58:31] And yeah, we, you know, talking over with the pack.
[00:58:37] See if they want to come.
[00:58:38] Who wants to stay?
[00:58:39] Who wants to branch out?
[00:58:44] Check out the wonders of the 20th century?
[00:58:49] I think.
[00:58:50] 19th century.
[00:58:51] Oh, we're in late 1800s, right?
[00:58:53] No, late 19th century.
[00:58:55] Sorry, it's the 19th century, so 1800s.
[00:58:57] Yeah.
[00:58:58] Okay.
[00:58:58] 17 something.
[00:58:59] No, it's 1890 something is technically the...
[00:59:02] We love it.
[00:59:05] Yeah, apparently.
[00:59:07] Yeah, 1890.
[00:59:07] It was a good year.
[00:59:13] The 1890s.
[00:59:15] Gotta love those 90s.
[00:59:18] I wouldn't have guessed, I was born in the thousand.
[00:59:22] God.
[00:59:24] You were born in 1900.
[00:59:25] I remember my name was 90s.
[00:59:31] Or solid does bring up.
[00:59:32] It's like, well, yes, I had heard that one of our own Ulfren
[00:59:38] was considering going up with your cousin Dorothea up to the Northlands,
[00:59:45] some place called Newfoundland.
[00:59:48] Some newfound land.
[00:59:51] That proves the barren hillscape.
[00:59:54] Yes.
[00:59:56] Don't pronounce the O.
[00:59:57] She lives in a place called Cock, or named for somebody's...
[01:00:10] They raised roosters there, darling.
[01:00:13] They had a really proud rooster.
[01:00:18] Sorry, I can't ever get past the fact that they named the town dildo, I'm sorry.
[01:00:23] Yeah.
[01:00:25] I am an immature 12 year old.
[01:00:28] Well, it's older than the term, isn't it?
[01:00:30] No, yeah.
[01:00:31] Dildo technically is a boating term.
[01:00:34] It's not just a private parts thing.
[01:00:37] Anyway, sorry to break the mood.
[01:00:41] It's fine.
[01:00:42] I mean, I deserve it.
[01:00:44] There's also that other lovely village just down the jetty, Fanny Hammer.
[01:00:51] You laugh, you joke, David,
[01:00:55] but there is a place just south of dildo called Shag Rock.
[01:00:59] So...
[01:01:01] Where everyone takes their dildos.
[01:01:04] Yeah, anyway, moving on.
[01:01:06] Maybe the last time I make a character from dildo.
[01:01:09] I think we've kicked the dead horse.
[01:01:14] Yeah.
[01:01:16] It will not be the last time.
[01:01:18] As I flip the corn on this dead horse and it returns to her coin,
[01:01:22] I will say to lovely Ursula.
[01:01:27] So we can kind of go ahead and prepare.
[01:01:31] I'll talk with...
[01:01:34] He's still soaring to me, but I will talk to looks at image and chat
[01:01:41] Maladon to see if the original soaring.
[01:01:47] I'd like to make sure he's well set up.
[01:01:49] And if you all like everything you see,
[01:01:52] over in the hills, then we can begin a new...
[01:01:58] In beautiful Kentucky.
[01:02:05] That isn't a slight...
[01:02:10] Don't worry, Soren will be on Soren's mountaintop.
[01:02:15] He will wake up and he will remember all of his time under hill as if it was just a dream.
[01:02:20] Is he going to be old, guys?
[01:02:21] Or is he going to be like 20?
[01:02:26] He was taken when he was 20.
[01:02:27] So he aged while he was gone, right?
[01:02:29] Do the age the same.
[01:02:37] Maritime, I think, is what I called the one marrow specifically.
[01:02:43] Yeah, Maritime, the marrow commander who's there.
[01:02:48] His green cap has a feather in it signifying that he is different from the other marrows.
[01:02:53] It's like...
[01:02:58] Sorry.
[01:03:01] I apologize to the she and the other circles of the fey.
[01:03:08] Maritime looks to Alvedon and is like,
[01:03:15] I know he should be still in his 20s, I believe.
[01:03:21] Yes, when we take someone, they sleep.
[01:03:26] It is an eternally youthful sleep.
[01:03:32] They sleep outside of time.
[01:03:37] Well, kind of, yes.
[01:03:40] Actually, when you put it that way, he is, but he's dreaming.
[01:03:49] Yes, he is dreaming and waiting to be reawakened and put back into his rightful place.
[01:03:58] And what of his family that are going to have him return in his rightful place?
[01:04:04] How many years after he was taken?
[01:04:06] I assume like 40.
[01:04:08] Soren did, or Malvedon, did Soren have family?
[01:04:13] That's the pretty part about this.
[01:04:15] There were no family.
[01:04:17] That's why Soren was such a great candidate for me to borrow his identity.
[01:04:25] He lived on top of a mountain where no one actually noticed.
[01:04:31] Do you realize that it was 30 years on top of that mountain before anyone
[01:04:38] actually came to see me?
[01:04:42] Yes.
[01:04:42] In fact, I believe you all, you folk are his extended family,
[01:04:48] the only family he ever has or he'll ever have.
[01:04:56] Now, I admit that it has been quite some time since he went under the hill.
[01:05:03] I mean, that was a rather old face I was wearing.
[01:05:09] But he'll be able to start on that mountain.
[01:05:14] Some of the trees will definitely be taller.
[01:05:18] Some of the bears will have aged out and there will be an entirely different family
[01:05:23] of woodchucks that is living underneath the woodshed, but it will be his house.
[01:05:29] I guess you did live there though.
[01:05:32] It'll be like coming home.
[01:05:34] I did.
[01:05:36] I lived.
[01:05:37] I learned.
[01:05:38] I waited.
[01:05:40] And much of the same knowledge that I have is knowledge that he will be imbued with.
[01:05:47] Your cousin Soren will be an arcanist as well.
[01:05:52] He'll know a thing or two about the fey because
[01:05:55] no matter how much we try to wipe the memories of his time under the hill away,
[01:06:01] he is going to remember quite a bit about the Vassan.
[01:06:05] And the injuries that he had picked up as a 20-year-old young man,
[01:06:10] you realize that Soren went to the top of that mountain because he was
[01:06:18] quite literally attacked by a Lindvorm and he was hit by corrosive venom.
[01:06:24] Well, those wounds will be gone, but it took quite a bit of time.
[01:06:28] We let him heal and so he will be emerging going back to his home.
[01:06:35] All of his wounds are going to be gone.
[01:06:37] He will have more knowledge and he will have benefited from his time.
[01:06:43] It just means that his clock is going to be moved up a little bit ahead.
[01:06:47] There might be a little disorientation.
[01:06:50] There might be a little bit of disorientation,
[01:06:52] but give him time and he will come to know all of you as much as I have
[01:06:59] and he will grow to love you as much as I have.
[01:07:02] And he'll probably hand you a rather large hunk of iron just to make sure that you're human.
[01:07:08] Yeah, that didn't seem to work on you.
[01:07:10] Yeah, we failed to realize that you were wearing gloves the entire time.
[01:07:14] Oh, not anymore.
[01:07:16] No.
[01:07:18] Waves the giant whipped cloth.
[01:07:20] Yeah, yeah.
[01:07:22] No more need for disguise.
[01:07:25] You say the glove thing.
[01:07:28] I've seen him touch metal with his bare hand.
[01:07:34] I'm just going to reach over and pick up the fleshy, fleshy...
[01:07:37] The hands and fingers.
[01:07:40] Some like, oh god, some like fingers like slots.
[01:07:44] You realize that this is also a glove.
[01:07:47] Oh my god.
[01:07:50] Turn around and walk away.
[01:07:54] It is a glove.
[01:07:58] Yeah, did he just like walk off for foley?
[01:08:03] Yeah.
[01:08:04] I thought I heard like a distant like, oh fuck.
[01:08:08] Oh, fuck.
[01:08:11] Yep.
[01:08:12] Ah, fuck butt.
[01:08:14] Oh, fuck butt.
[01:08:16] That shit's disgusting there right there.
[01:08:21] That's my thing.
[01:08:22] Okay, yeah, and as this is also going on, Dorte Ulfren arrives on the scene and is like,
[01:08:31] Dorte, my love!
[01:08:33] I managed to survive.
[01:08:35] You did!
[01:08:36] He just gives you like a big bear hug, raises you up.
[01:08:39] No, it's a wolfhawk not a bear hug.
[01:08:42] Yes.
[01:08:46] Lars Malt.
[01:08:51] But yeah, so basically Ulfren goes in as well as like,
[01:08:56] so I've been thinking while you were away and I said,
[01:09:00] Ulfren, if she comes back, I will go with her to this newfound land.
[01:09:07] Surely I will be able to, I will be the first werewolf to come to your lands
[01:09:16] and run across all the coastline.
[01:09:20] As long as you feel it's safe to do so.
[01:09:22] So, it's uh, my newfound land is not as welcoming as your kind is here.
[01:09:32] Especially now after the town seems more welcoming.
[01:09:36] That being said, I am happy to have you come back.
[01:09:42] Yeah, he is just overjoyed.
[01:09:44] He's like a giant golden retriever.
[01:09:47] But yeah, so unless you guys have something else you would like to describe or have brought up.
[01:10:00] Actually, Lars, Hugo comes over.
[01:10:04] It's like, Lars, my brother.
[01:10:09] I've been talking with my butler and I see this tab that has been in place.
[01:10:27] Was this you by any chance?
[01:10:28] Oh, it was Jäger.
[01:10:31] Hammer pans down to the dog.
[01:10:33] Looks up to you.
[01:10:36] Just crashes down and is like, Jäger, is this all you?
[01:10:40] And Jäger looks up to you, Lars.
[01:10:43] And you think, he can't say it, but you think he's like,
[01:10:47] he sort of just nods for a second and then just kind of barks an affirmative
[01:10:52] to Hugo to kind of like, basically like, I'll jump in front of that bus for you, bro.
[01:10:59] I expect a bullet for this later.
[01:11:03] And he's like, oh, well, you're such a good boy.
[01:11:05] Well, I can't.
[01:11:07] You know what?
[01:11:09] You seem, Hugo looks you up and down, Lars, and is like, well,
[01:11:15] I've done very well here and I feel like I should probably
[01:11:20] share some of that success with you.
[01:11:24] If you would like, Lars.
[01:11:25] I'm sorry?
[01:11:29] Your baby mama.
[01:11:30] Oh, sweet.
[01:11:31] By the by the miss.
[01:11:32] She wanted to give you something.
[01:11:33] I slap him hard.
[01:11:36] Yeah, he's like something you're like, yeah, something realizing what it's like.
[01:11:41] It's like, do you want to roll?
[01:11:44] Like, see how powerful that slap is?
[01:11:45] Or a fuck or.
[01:11:48] Yeah, roll.
[01:11:49] Roll.
[01:11:50] Was it physique or something?
[01:11:52] Yes.
[01:11:54] Close combat.
[01:11:55] Close combat.
[01:11:55] Yeah, close combat was to like suck your brother.
[01:11:59] I will put this fucking role too.
[01:12:05] If you have to.
[01:12:07] Oh, I don't have to.
[01:12:08] I've already hit him, but I'm putting this role on.
[01:12:11] Even if he rolls well, he's going to push the full name.
[01:12:14] Yeah, I was going to put the role no matter what
[01:12:16] he wants to hear the the the Ford a like smash attack sound
[01:12:22] from using a fricking home run bat in Smash Brothers.
[01:12:26] He wants to make sure he.
[01:12:28] Yeah, I was just he wants to make sure that the misses here's here's the slap
[01:12:34] from all the way in Barovia.
[01:12:35] The world.
[01:12:36] Yeah, yeah, exactly.
[01:12:38] His new name is Chris Rock.
[01:12:41] Three hits.
[01:12:42] Three hits?
[01:12:43] Yeah, he is just he he does like a he does like a twist in the air like around
[01:12:49] and then like play and then lands on the cobblestone.
[01:12:53] Wait, did he die the way that like
[01:12:55] like guys die in freaking the old Street Fighter or like spinning around going?
[01:13:00] Oh, I kind of in that I was kind of thinking more like how some characters
[01:13:05] like did the twirl in like Jackie Chan's Shanghai Nights.
[01:13:10] Oh, okay.
[01:13:10] Where they just be like the the twirl in the air and then hit the ground.
[01:13:16] Yeah, and eventually he gets back up like completely like discombobulated is like, oh,
[01:13:21] I suppose I did deserve that.
[01:13:25] Um, tell you what Lars, um, if uh, I should probably go find uh,
[01:13:38] my lady.
[01:13:39] What was her name?
[01:13:40] Um, is he saying this in character?
[01:13:42] I thought harder than I thought.
[01:13:43] This is in character and out of character.
[01:13:46] This is in character and out of character because this fits the character.
[01:13:49] Yes, it does.
[01:13:50] Um, well, it's a pain.
[01:13:52] It's a pain.
[01:13:54] Yeah.
[01:13:55] Um, but uh, tell you what for all the grief I may have caused you, uh, Lars, um,
[01:14:03] I'll have if you aren't staying in Barovia, I will uh, I'll have my man
[01:14:13] give you some funds for your journey back to Earth.
[01:14:21] Uh, is that does that see you well?
[01:14:25] Yes.
[01:14:25] Yes.
[01:14:26] Yes, that does.
[01:14:27] Okay.
[01:14:28] Uh, so you'll be getting you'll be getting two wealth, um, or two dots of wealth there.
[01:14:33] Lars, I have a question.
[01:14:35] Yeah, the funds here like the the currency itself, is that going to transfer over to
[01:14:42] Well, it's silver.
[01:14:44] It's at the very least it's valuable metal.
[01:14:48] Yeah, it is.
[01:14:49] It is the coinage of Barovia.
[01:14:51] Um, I'm going to say is uh, like it's probably like the the money that you guys would have
[01:14:59] seen with the currencies you would have seen with the coinage would probably have been
[01:15:02] silver of some kind.
[01:15:04] So yeah, but they'll be minted differently, right?
[01:15:07] Yeah.
[01:15:07] So you guys, but you guys could always like, you know, melt that stuff down and
[01:15:10] then like sell it at a jeweler or something like that and basically make that wealth back.
[01:15:14] So yeah, for sure.
[01:15:15] Or you could just hand them coins and it's like, what is this all hail strad on the face of
[01:15:21] What are these?
[01:15:22] Who cares?
[01:15:23] It's silver.
[01:15:24] It's got bat insignia on the other side.
[01:15:29] Must be from Romania.
[01:15:32] It's one of them dang fur in coins.
[01:15:35] Yeah, make sure it's actual silver.
[01:15:37] Yeah.
[01:15:37] Woo wee.
[01:15:40] I don't know who this this strad guy was, but he he was really good with his
[01:15:43] minting.
[01:15:46] I don't know why that jeweler had like that accent, but
[01:15:52] So yeah, as as Hugo kind of goes wandering off to go maybe go see it make amends with
[01:16:00] with the his misses.
[01:16:02] Maybe to go see a dentist.
[01:16:03] We don't know.
[01:16:04] Yeah, maybe that too.
[01:16:07] Is there anything else you guys would like to do while you're in Vlaki before I kind
[01:16:11] of shift into the the epilogue side of things?
[01:16:19] Speak now or forever hold your peace.
[01:16:22] Other than that one little thing, but if it's doable.
[01:16:27] Actually, I also just had this idea.
[01:16:28] Johan, do you want to have a Barovian wedding?
[01:16:33] Yes, Johan.
[01:16:34] Do you want to have a Barovian wedding?
[01:16:36] Like.
[01:16:38] Do you want to know?
[01:16:39] You want to turn this celebration into another celebration?
[01:16:42] Yeah, yeah, I'll make an honest woman out of her.
[01:16:44] You mean you'll make an honest wolf out of her.
[01:16:46] I'll make an honest wolf out of her hell for all right.
[01:16:51] Honey, I put this off of that thing.
[01:17:02] Honey, we can't just go back.
[01:17:05] Like, you know, we got to cause a scandal with my family here.
[01:17:09] So if you will do me the honor and drop someone the.
[01:17:17] What are you doing?
[01:17:19] Well, where I come from is this way we propose marriage since
[01:17:24] we are making it official of sorts.
[01:17:30] I she like looks around and there's like a couple of people.
[01:17:36] A couple of people and a couple even the Marrows and so it just like shaking
[01:17:39] like nodding their heads like yes, yes.
[01:17:40] Yes.
[01:17:40] Like, oh, okay.
[01:17:44] Yes, let's let's do this.
[01:17:46] Johan.
[01:17:48] Chris, you just gave me twice facts when I did that to my wife.
[01:17:52] Like he had a look of terror at her upper like part of her upper lips
[01:17:58] are to curl like Elvis.
[01:18:05] So I can't do it right anywhere.
[01:18:12] It's not you.
[01:18:13] It's the fact that she like her people don't really have this custom.
[01:18:16] But yeah, it's me.
[01:18:17] I swear.
[01:18:18] Yeah.
[01:18:19] But yeah.
[01:18:20] Okay.
[01:18:20] So you guys basically stay another night effectively as there is sort of a
[01:18:28] as you go to the local church in the Locky.
[01:18:33] At this point, the same guy that like, yeah.
[01:18:36] Oh, would you guys want to have it in the Locky or do you guys want to have
[01:18:38] it in in Barovi in the village of Barovi?
[01:18:41] Which is also close to the wall to the walls of miss where you're going
[01:18:45] to go through the exit Barovi technically.
[01:18:49] That sounds a little more appropriate.
[01:18:51] Like, you know, okay.
[01:18:53] Okay.
[01:18:54] So you guys are here for a few more days.
[01:18:56] My way as the party moves from the Locky to Barovi village proper.
[01:19:06] And yeah, there is a very nice ceremony with the cousins, the wolf pack,
[01:19:16] various members of the fake of the Shadowfell fake court,
[01:19:20] for Morians, the Barovian humans that you met,
[01:19:30] the mayor and such in him from Barovia village and some from
[01:19:34] Blocky as well.
[01:19:35] Petonius eventually comes down from the mountain to attend.
[01:19:42] Took a break from his busy schedule of
[01:19:46] He just portaled in.
[01:19:50] I got a good five minutes.
[01:19:51] Here we go.
[01:19:52] Yeah, it's like a rift opened up and he just like walked through.
[01:19:55] It's like, hey, hello.
[01:19:57] I heard there was a
[01:19:59] I was imagining he'd like frag the literature too by just carving out the
[01:20:06] I'm also surprised.
[01:20:09] I'm also surprised.
[01:20:10] None of you guys just like wait, you could portal through this whole time?
[01:20:16] Not the slightest bit surprised.
[01:20:17] I know that that is a bit magic that Petonius has had, but he's decided not to use.
[01:20:22] No, because it's not about the destination.
[01:20:26] It's about the journey.
[01:20:27] Yeah.
[01:20:28] Okay, Gandalf.
[01:20:29] So what you're saying is that you've really been enjoying this road trip?
[01:20:34] Indeed.
[01:20:35] And quite an unexpected journey.
[01:20:39] Yes.
[01:20:42] So yeah, it's a very nice it's the father and his son,
[01:20:48] the priests from the church in Barovia village,
[01:20:52] sort of getting everything in order and such.
[01:20:57] You're decked out to the nines through some of your various,
[01:21:02] through Helga and Hugo's financing.
[01:21:06] Like they got a tailor to get you some nice suits and outfits and such.
[01:21:12] Your waifu, wolfu to be was a little initially a bit uncomfortable with the kind of outfits,
[01:21:29] but she did look rather nice coming down the aisle with your son Han kind of walking her
[01:21:36] down the aisle and such to give her paw to you in marriage.
[01:21:44] And yeah, again, I will say also by her request,
[01:21:54] it was the entire ceremony was held at night rather than during the day
[01:22:02] as the skies cleared and a big full moon shown silver light over the church.
[01:22:12] David Soren is my best friend.
[01:22:16] He's been my best man from the beginning.
[01:22:19] Oh, just breathe cousin.
[01:22:23] Is Jaeger the ring bearer or is that your son Han?
[01:22:28] My son, oh come on, I can't cut him out of it.
[01:22:31] That's fair.
[01:22:34] The flower girl somebody can carry.
[01:22:37] What I used to call Bula, but I can't remember now because our family is Ariel.
[01:22:41] Her name is Ariel.
[01:22:42] Yeah, like the mermaid.
[01:22:46] Our family has a curse with names.
[01:22:50] Hey, you.
[01:22:55] For some reason, I see granny just staring daggers in the front.
[01:22:59] Just the groom side front row.
[01:23:02] Just I don't know who she's madder at you for marrying the werewolf
[01:23:06] or me for hiding her grandson this whole time.
[01:23:10] David Yeah, really.
[01:23:12] Um, yeah, so the ceremony goes on and
[01:23:21] Lars as you're like sitting there, you're like, you're enjoying or you're kind of,
[01:23:26] well, you're enjoying the kind of good feel vibes of the ceremony and such.
[01:23:31] But something kind of like tips you off.
[01:23:34] You look around, it's like where the hell, where did Jaeger go?
[01:23:39] And you're looking around and
[01:23:43] as in like it, he's nowhere to be found for the entire like rest of the ceremony.
[01:23:50] And as everybody is like getting out of the church
[01:23:53] and like the crowds kind of like, like funneling out and such,
[01:23:56] you're still looking around and some of that and you're getting kind of worried.
[01:24:01] And then there's a tap on your shoulder.
[01:24:04] And you look, you turn around and you don't entirely recognize his face,
[01:24:13] but his eyes are the exact same as Jaeger's.
[01:24:18] And it's a human.
[01:24:20] Lars is my dog.
[01:24:22] But yeah, it's a human, but the same age as you.
[01:24:28] A little bit shaggier hair, but the same kind of hair color as you.
[01:24:32] And he is wearing a nice kind of turquoise and well, honestly, the outfit kind of looks
[01:24:41] similar to Kathleen, the Fomorian queen and Malvadon's attire.
[01:24:48] And wait, is this Jaeger in human form?
[01:24:55] As Jaeger's like, well, as he opens his mouth, it's like, hey, brother.
[01:25:01] Bork, bork.
[01:25:08] How's it going, brother?
[01:25:11] Turns out the fae queen there is powerful enough to make a dog back into a human.
[01:25:21] Though I was told that apparently I'm stuck with the eyes.
[01:25:29] Because they are actually dog eyes that he has.
[01:25:34] I think I'm going to need some tinted spectacles or something.
[01:25:39] But yeah, looks over to Kathleen, the Fomorian queen, and she just kind of waves.
[01:25:49] And then he just kind of waves back and is like, thanks.
[01:25:53] So yeah, that was a gift from Malvadon who asked his mother if her fae powers could maybe
[01:26:02] reverse at least some of the transformation that had befallen Jaeger.
[01:26:09] Way to go there, David.
[01:26:12] Hug your brother or something.
[01:26:15] It got rid of my dog. Way to go.
[01:26:16] Hug your brother.
[01:26:22] At least give him a ball or something.
[01:26:32] Lars, did you want to do anything like your brother's back as a human again?
[01:26:36] Yeah, but I lost my dog.
[01:26:39] We can get you a new dog.
[01:26:41] I mean, at this point, Kathleen walks over.
[01:26:46] She was being elegant and she's like, I'm just walks over.
[01:26:49] It's like, all right, look, if you want the don't worry.
[01:26:53] No, no, it's like, don't worry.
[01:26:54] He can shift back in and out similar to your friends there.
[01:27:00] And he looks over to the werewolves and such.
[01:27:03] Well, to be fair, once that ensourcment has happened,
[01:27:06] the body kind of remembers.
[01:27:08] Have you ever dislocated a bone?
[01:27:11] It's like that, but on a mystic sense.
[01:27:13] You're more prone to dislocate that same shoulder over and over and over again.
[01:27:18] So he can probably do it.
[01:27:23] It'll take practice, but eventually he will get to the point where he just goes
[01:27:26] from human to dog and dog to human just whenever.
[01:27:30] Although I would recommend stretchy pants.
[01:27:38] He does look oddly enough like Taylor Lautner.
[01:27:44] Don't do that to him, Chris.
[01:27:46] Don't Chris, don't.
[01:27:53] Yeah, I'm sorry.
[01:27:54] But yeah.
[01:27:55] All right.
[01:27:56] Not sorry.
[01:27:57] Yeah.
[01:27:59] Yeah.
[01:27:59] So you have your brother, but you also have your dog still.
[01:28:03] And I mean, if you really want to try and find a way to
[01:28:07] fully cure him of this ensorcelment,
[01:28:10] there might be something in your epilogue for that.
[01:28:11] The very least to get back to those, the people who did this to you
[01:28:18] or did this to you and your family and such.
[01:28:20] I didn't get a chance to interject with this.
[01:28:22] I am so sorry.
[01:28:23] I didn't want to talk over with people.
[01:28:25] I've been hanging on to this when it was mentioned that Hugo was like
[01:28:30] buying like getting a suit ready for for Johan and stuff.
[01:28:37] What brand of suit would that be?
[01:28:39] You think?
[01:28:39] Because I would think it probably Hugo Boss at something else.
[01:28:44] If like it has to be right.
[01:28:48] I would agree with that.
[01:28:49] Yeah, it's for lucky.
[01:28:51] It's an offshoot of Versace.
[01:28:53] Yeah, yeah, it's it's Barovian.
[01:28:55] It's the equivalent of Hugo Boss and Versace.
[01:29:00] Again, Helga and Hugo make a lot of money.
[01:29:02] So they've done really well for themselves in Barovia.
[01:29:05] Indeed.
[01:29:06] Okay.
[01:29:07] Yeah.
[01:29:08] You just edit that in.
[01:29:10] I'll leave it at this point.
[01:29:11] Yeah, yeah.
[01:29:14] Yes, please get it.
[01:29:15] Okay.
[01:29:18] So is there anything else you guys would like to do?
[01:29:22] Are you guys going to make your decision?
[01:29:23] Are you staying or should you stay or should you go now in Barovia?
[01:29:28] If we stay there will be trouble.
[01:29:32] But if I leave it would be double.
[01:29:34] That's true.
[01:29:37] So I'm going to let you know, I'm going to stay.
[01:29:40] I'm not going to go.
[01:29:43] Okay, so, so Malvodon and his Fomori court are going to remain in Barovia.
[01:29:53] Though you guys do know that apparently when you guys get back to Earth,
[01:29:57] there will be a cousin somewhere up on a mountain in Appalachia.
[01:30:01] We're gonna have to track him down now.
[01:30:03] I guess somewhere in Eastern Kentucky or like, is it going to be in like West Virginia?
[01:30:09] I'd say Eastern Kentucky.
[01:30:11] Yeah, I just think it's like, so we got a cousin in Western Kentucky
[01:30:14] and a cousin in Eastern Kentucky.
[01:30:17] Almost having my ass.
[01:30:22] Well, so yeah, if Sorin knows where that is, can we get a map?
[01:30:28] I feel like we should ask him for a rough map of how to find him.
[01:30:31] So we're not just scouring the Kentucky countryside.
[01:30:35] I try to find it.
[01:30:37] Sure, this is his mountain and you know, Granny knows as well,
[01:30:40] although she's not talking to me for some reason.
[01:30:44] She's like, yeah, she's been like staring at you kind of in disbelief
[01:30:47] and just like, I can't believe I didn't notice like, or like, I can't believe I didn't know.
[01:30:53] I don't know my own friend.
[01:30:55] We'll work on it.
[01:30:56] It's like, it was pretty horrifying how you revealed yourself.
[01:30:59] Yeah, she took it pretty hard.
[01:31:00] She's like been Keanu Reeves sitting the whole time.
[01:31:05] I just want to eat a sandwich, man.
[01:31:09] I would apologize, but that's how we break a glamour.
[01:31:13] It's never clean or neat.
[01:31:18] Usually there's a certain je ne sais quoi that has to be part of it.
[01:31:24] Kathleen is just like nodding her head.
[01:31:27] It's like, it has to happen a certain way.
[01:31:33] We can't be, I mean, I'm sure you've heard about the ones that
[01:31:38] the fae that live in trees that make cookies.
[01:31:44] We're not like them.
[01:31:46] We're not pretty.
[01:31:47] We're not the summer court.
[01:31:52] Kathleen is like, we're not even the winter court.
[01:31:54] Technically, we're the shadow court.
[01:31:58] We're a lot closer to winter than summer if you just look at it from the angle though.
[01:32:04] Yes.
[01:32:05] Although we are going to do a lot for the light.
[01:32:09] I mean, I'm sure that those very brave, very, very good boys
[01:32:15] gesturing towards the were raven
[01:32:18] are probably going to do a lot for Barovia in the future.
[01:32:22] I know that when it comes time to recruit messengers for the new Amber order,
[01:32:27] they might be willing to step up.
[01:32:31] We have big plans for Barovia and the rest of the Misty Lands, says Kathleen.
[01:32:36] Doesn't sound ominous at all.
[01:32:38] You're not sure if there's malice to that or if she's just being rather confident.
[01:32:45] It's going to be a new day for Barovia.
[01:32:47] The sun will rise.
[01:32:49] Make Barovia great again.
[01:32:51] God.
[01:32:53] What Barovia have you been living in?
[01:32:55] Barovia was never great.
[01:32:59] Make Barovia better again?
[01:33:01] We're going to make Barovia better.
[01:33:03] Hey, just make Barovia better.
[01:33:05] We're going to build to a better tomorrow
[01:33:08] and not the better tomorrow with all of the John Woo-ism.
[01:33:11] No, an actual better tomorrow.
[01:33:14] Okay.
[01:33:14] It seems like this is going to be a farewell for now at least
[01:33:20] to Malvadon slash Soren as are the rest of you leaving for Earth with
[01:33:29] and Granny Olsen actually eventually does come over to like,
[01:33:32] she will help you guys find Soren's mountain
[01:33:39] or whoever is going to Kentucky to search for Soren.
[01:33:43] Like that kind of stuff will happen.
[01:33:46] Eventually, Granny does come up to Malvadon.
[01:33:49] It's like, well, Soren or should I call you Malvadon?
[01:33:59] You can call me by whatever name you wish.
[01:34:02] Whatever is most comfortable for you.
[01:34:05] She kind of like gives a smirk and is like,
[01:34:08] well, Grant nephew, it takes a lot to pull a wool over my eyes
[01:34:17] and I'm surprised it happened, but I am getting old
[01:34:24] and I've made lots of mistakes trying to spare this family and save our people.
[01:34:31] But thank you for your part and for keeping Soren safe.
[01:34:39] I'm just sorry that all of this had to happen.
[01:34:44] You've done a lot for Barovia.
[01:34:48] Don't you think it's time that you took a break, got to rest,
[01:34:54] spend some time with your grandchildren, get to know them really, really well?
[01:35:01] I think I've been in the mists too long.
[01:35:04] I think I need to go back to the lands of my beloved
[01:35:09] and see my other nephews and nieces and grandchildren.
[01:35:15] With that, Granny Olsen is planning on basically living out the rest of her days on earth.
[01:35:22] I will take that torch for you and should you find one of your kin
[01:35:30] that you would rather I pass that torch to, I will gladly relinquish it.
[01:35:38] But until that time, I'll hold it.
[01:35:43] I'll hold it.
[01:35:45] I will keep this land safe.
[01:35:47] Thank you.
[01:35:49] Do you trust me?
[01:35:50] I do.
[01:35:51] I just hope that the old powers don't intercede for a while.
[01:36:00] I'm going to give her the very, very toothy grin.
[01:36:04] I'd like to see them try it.
[01:36:06] Strangely enough, even with the shark smile, she comes in for a grandmotherly hug.
[01:36:15] You take care, grandson.
[01:36:19] You as well, Granny Olsen.
[01:36:22] And then she goes up to your mother who's standing nearby.
[01:36:28] And they share a very subtle gesture of appreciation and such.
[01:36:33] And then it turns over to the rest of you guys.
[01:36:38] It's like, well, the mists are opening.
[01:36:43] I can feel them showing the way back to earth.
[01:36:48] Are you coming?
[01:36:52] I believe so.
[01:36:54] Oh, fuck yes.
[01:36:56] Oh, fuck bud.
[01:36:58] Oh, fuck yeah, that or what.
[01:37:00] Okay.
[01:37:01] So and then, Johan, you look back and you see the wolves are basically all ready.
[01:37:06] Like they're like your wife and your son, they are in their wolf forms
[01:37:15] with the rest of the pack ready to move on into the beyond the mists.
[01:37:20] And Dorotea, are you also ready to go?
[01:37:25] Or do you have something to do?
[01:37:27] Do you have something to do?
[01:37:29] What is my sister doing?
[01:37:32] Helga is going to remain.
[01:37:35] She has a practice here.
[01:37:36] She has a life and a rather successful one.
[01:37:39] And she's come to care for these people in the time that she's been here.
[01:37:47] So she's going to remain.
[01:37:50] She feels more bound to Barovia than earth.
[01:37:53] That's fair.
[01:37:54] In fact, most of your other just for the sake of the rest of you guys,
[01:37:57] like your twins that were also taken and that you guys rescued,
[01:38:03] similarly they feel a stronger bond in connection with the lands of Barovia than
[01:38:08] than those of old earth.
[01:38:10] So they will be remaining.
[01:38:18] I feel more of a connection with actual earth.
[01:38:20] So I'll be returning because this place has been an adventure, but also hell.
[01:38:29] That year for the quiet, easy life of severing limbs and resetting bones at my clinic.
[01:38:36] Yeah.
[01:38:37] And as you're getting ready to head off, you guys here in the distance.
[01:38:41] Wait, wait.
[01:38:45] As you see Tim Baker,
[01:38:46] the ace reporter from the from the from the CR 1313.
[01:38:53] Hi, Tim.
[01:38:53] How's it going?
[01:38:54] It's like, ah, I heard in the bar that you guys were heading out.
[01:38:59] I was like, wait.
[01:39:05] Take your time, Tim.
[01:39:06] Sorry.
[01:39:06] You need a minute.
[01:39:10] Do you guys need a
[01:39:12] a journalist in your world or like, I don't know how I'm getting back to my world.
[01:39:18] Honestly, you don't want to stay in this one?
[01:39:21] No.
[01:39:23] Far man.
[01:39:26] I've been a ghost.
[01:39:27] I was ghost for like, I don't know how long and then you guys brought me back.
[01:39:31] And this place just reminds me of that other of that train from hell.
[01:39:36] Um, I'd like to I'd like to know what happened to to Corvair and the rest of my
[01:39:43] and even like seer like see what happened during the last war and such.
[01:39:47] But like, I don't know how I'm getting back there.
[01:39:52] And to this point that Petonias is like, well, actually,
[01:39:56] I am going to I plan on venturing to some of these other realms and worlds eventually.
[01:40:01] So if you would like, I could on on my on my way through those one of those this this
[01:40:08] what is this place called?
[01:40:09] It's called it's called Eberron.
[01:40:11] Right.
[01:40:12] On my way through Eberron, I could I could drop you off if you wish.
[01:40:17] Oh, well, that would that would be swell.
[01:40:19] That'd be perfect.
[01:40:21] Thank you to Cincinnati.
[01:40:23] That sounds terrifying.
[01:40:25] I mean, if you guys.
[01:40:29] Yeah, here's the thing.
[01:40:30] Out of game, like pulling out a game for a second.
[01:40:33] Do you guys want Tim to come back to Earth or do you want him to go back to his home reality?
[01:40:40] I would extend the offer if he wants to.
[01:40:43] That's what Tim wants to do.
[01:40:45] It's Petonias immediately going.
[01:40:47] Oh, no, no, I'm I'm going I'm going to have a bit of a tour around the
[01:40:52] the Mistylands before I head to any other reality or realm.
[01:40:56] But how about when before you stop off at Eberron, stop off at Earth and you can pick
[01:41:01] up Tim and drop him off until then he can live in on Earth away from his fears that
[01:41:07] he has living here and memories.
[01:41:11] That depends.
[01:41:12] Are there dragons on Earth?
[01:41:15] Not that I know of.
[01:41:16] No.
[01:41:17] Are there trolls?
[01:41:20] Warforges?
[01:41:22] Vampires, ghosts?
[01:41:22] I mean not the ones you're thinking of.
[01:41:25] Well.
[01:41:25] Basically, there's naming off a bunch of other like are you are like do they do
[01:41:30] they set off magical bombs over your city?
[01:41:35] Not magical.
[01:41:37] There's not even mundane bombs back then, dude.
[01:41:39] There's some D&D.
[01:41:40] Oh yeah.
[01:41:43] Yeah.
[01:41:44] You know what?
[01:41:44] It's a boring place.
[01:41:45] You'll love it.
[01:41:46] You know what?
[01:41:47] I think I'm going to take a look at this.
[01:41:49] I'm going to have a gander at this old Earth.
[01:41:50] Maybe I can write some pulps when I get back to Eberron.
[01:41:54] How about this place called Earth?
[01:42:00] All right.
[01:42:01] So yeah, Tim Baker is joining you guys back in old Earth as well.
[01:42:08] And as you're saying farewell to the small group of people that have kind of
[01:42:16] gathered at the edge of Abrovia Village,
[01:42:20] um, you guys start walking out into the mists and there is a slight disorientation,
[01:42:29] but it's not as bad as you had expected it to be.
[01:42:33] And eventually the mists sort of kind of correlate and like it gets darker in the mists.
[01:42:41] And when the mist dissipates,
[01:42:44] you are coming out of the mouth of a cave in what looks like to
[01:42:51] Sorin or sorry, no, sorry, Malvodon's not there.
[01:42:55] What looks like to Johan, Eastern Kentucky's forest cover.
[01:43:04] It appears to be the same cave that you actually recall.
[01:43:08] It looks like the same cave that you and the, uh, you and, um, where you and
[01:43:14] Ursula first met and were how they've been able to traverse between the realities.
[01:43:21] Yeah.
[01:43:24] So, and I guess it's my stop.
[01:43:29] And yeah, we will sort of fade to black for a moment as I pull out my epilogue
[01:43:38] notes for like what happens in the next, like in sort of the, in the future for you guys.
[01:43:47] So I'm going to start with this one here.
[01:43:51] At least for the next cycle, Strahd's return is quite diminished.
[01:43:56] Even so that perhaps a band of clever cats guided by a Fomorian prince and his allied
[01:44:02] catsith could take him on and really ruin his day.
[01:44:08] But that is for another story.
[01:44:11] And back on earth as the years and decades pass in Kentucky, a small paramilitary family
[01:44:19] stands vigilant over a, over a mist shrouded plot of wilderness where a cave breathes
[01:44:28] dark corruption.
[01:44:30] These hills also have an unusual amount of wolves.
[01:44:36] As for Dr. Conningsmark, Jaeger's brother Lars and a befuddled Appalachian man, Soren,
[01:44:45] a member of the Swordwreath Society, the 19th century front for the age-old wizardly
[01:44:51] Circle of Swords organization, approaches them with the offer of occult aid and financial support
[01:45:00] in exchange for help investigating various mystically related situations as they arise.
[01:45:06] But what of dear Professor Petonius?
[01:45:10] Perhaps in these times and these spaces he travels beyond Barovia,
[01:45:16] deeper into the mists in search of new undead specimens and lore.
[01:45:22] The research is never finished and Falcovnia awaits.
[01:45:29] And that is the end of the Vosin in Ravenloft campaign Mistborn.
[01:45:38] Your characters can either like decide to have joined the Swordwreath Society to investigate
[01:45:44] various other Vosin related things and such through the ages.
[01:45:48] Um, this game also sort of opened up some uh based off your choices it sort of opened up
[01:45:53] two other possible potential campaigns um with a Call of Catthulhu game
[01:46:00] uh where you're a bunch of cats dealing with Strahd
[01:46:05] or a diminished Strahd.
[01:46:07] As you guys have rendered him down to effectively being a D&D NPC who could be
[01:46:12] killed by house cats.
[01:46:17] Yeah basically um it this also kind of opened up for a potential Knights Black Agents campaign
[01:46:22] where the descendants of of Johann Anderson and his werewolf pack have set up a sort of
[01:46:30] paramilitary um uh supernatural defense group in the in the woods of Kentucky
[01:46:38] uh to help stop um uh incursion events from from uh from the Mistylands.
[01:46:45] Yeah so uh yeah that's that's it guys that's what I've got for uh for for Mistborn so um
[01:46:55] comments questions suggestions.
[01:46:57] Okay so I absolutely adored this campaign start to finish
[01:47:01] um and um I am looking forward to playing in the next one I don't
[01:47:07] I don't know what it's gonna be but whatever it is it's gonna be amazing.
[01:47:12] Yeah I think it won't be like necessarily like a campaign campaign but it'll be like at least
[01:47:15] some like some small games of like these of like what happened in the future like there
[01:47:19] might be some if you guys would if you guys want to bring back these characters for some
[01:47:22] Vosin games I could always like run some like one-shot stuff um if you if you want
[01:47:28] Dorotea to return and dealing with like weird supernatural stuff in on earth kind of things
[01:47:35] and similar with Lars like Lars you could play I guess Lars you could technically play as
[01:47:39] as Lars or Jaeger.
[01:47:43] I think for me Dorotea wanted to go home because like she's had enough adventure
[01:47:49] and dealing with supernatural so she's probably not going to come back so if I am
[01:47:53] going to be playing in another game I might just be Jaeger.
[01:47:56] That's fine yeah you could be Jaeger yeah.
[01:47:58] Yeah I could totally see you could also be Ulrin.
[01:48:04] Ulfren actually.
[01:48:05] Or Ulfren yes my bad but yeah um Adam Lars.
[01:48:10] How long have we been doing this?
[01:48:14] Yeah Josh do you have anything about the to talk about the game?
[01:48:19] Not specifically no it's just been overall fucking great.
[01:48:23] Awesome I'm glad I hope I've given you I've I hope I've given you guys like all
[01:48:31] like uh moments to shine in the game.
[01:48:36] I know I know I've given like some of you guys a lot of stuff I hope I've given like
[01:48:40] all of you guys some like spotlights.
[01:48:45] I've certainly tried yeah.
[01:48:48] I mean it's always hard the more players you have right.
[01:48:50] Yeah I mean like four players is usually like a like the sweet spot so.
[01:48:56] I like to deliberate focusing on the dark secrets of course that you know mechanically
[01:49:02] they're supposed to pop up anyway kind of feel like that but now I you know personally
[01:49:08] speaking from you know my point of view I definitely didn't feel slighted I enjoyed
[01:49:13] playing with everybody I played with each of you all before obviously and you know
[01:49:20] maybe not together in this particular group and all but this it's been a lot of fun.
[01:49:25] I was sitting here trying to figure out how long we've been playing this game.
[01:49:29] So we've ran about 19 sessions like this session was called a Misty Dawn because
[01:49:36] the first session was called a Misty Dream so I feel like this is like where you guys are
[01:49:40] you wake up from the dream or from the nightmare and into a new dawn sort of thing.
[01:49:46] Mm hmm.
[01:49:47] Um but yeah we've been running this for I don't know how long have we been running this game for?
[01:49:51] Well I mean we started we did the first row up that we did on that so I honestly think that
[01:49:57] we're maybe nine or ten minutes I think we're yeah now I think we started probably
[01:50:06] May last year it was around May yeah so uh I mean I think we were averaging about two games
[01:50:13] a month there and it's just for something that was started out on a Saturday morning me making a
[01:50:21] flip of comment about how Vossum would be a great game to reincurse a shroud and then like it
[01:50:26] then we did that what we did that kind of uh roll up game or that uh that brainstorm
[01:50:31] plot growers game about uh Ravenloft and Vossum. It's it's been everything and it's you face
[01:50:39] it out enough that I forgot half the shit we even talked about eventually when it was starting
[01:50:43] to get relayed it was like that son of a bitch he was listening. Yeah technically David and Adam
[01:50:48] knew about most of the plot points I was throwing in um from like the very beginning
[01:50:52] because uh we had a a talkie episode where we made we basically brainstormed like the ideas that
[01:50:58] this campaign became um but again like enough time passed between the sessions that like
[01:51:05] I'm glad that at least like there was some like some freshness to it.
[01:51:08] It's individual secrets even though I with Granny Olson by the way guys Olson Twins
[01:51:16] like yeah that's that's great actually it was a long running pun and I loved it.
[01:51:21] Yeah but no this this was great and you know from somebody who's bought every Vossum
[01:51:29] material a lot of free league stuff like between Chris and I we own shit loaded this
[01:51:34] stuff it was fun to actually blow the dust off of a game on the shelf.
[01:51:38] Yeah well I also have like the Curse of Strahd and Ravenloft stuff and I was it was cool to
[01:51:42] actually like get to pull like pull out this like age old like decades old like
[01:51:48] campaign setting from like classic D&D and actually like
[01:51:52] use a different try see how how it works in a different system with like that has similar
[01:51:56] themes so. Like for disclosure uh games like this you know I've enjoyed
[01:52:04] one shots and like little small series and stuff like that but being a part of a larger campaign
[01:52:09] is I mean it always is special it's kind of a bittersweet moment here that uh it's over
[01:52:15] I think yeah at the ending yeah definitely justice.
[01:52:19] Yeah and I hope I was kind of worried about halfway through the uh like um the ending here
[01:52:25] that was like oh god is this just going to be like Lord of the Rings where just like the
[01:52:28] end there's just like multiple like there's like 12 different endings that like help like
[01:52:31] stack after each other.
[01:52:33] Then the credits start and then 10 minutes into the credits for their long credits
[01:52:37] then there's another scene.
[01:52:38] Yeah.
[01:52:41] I think it all worked out it balanced very well and I like David's reveal because I mean
[01:52:48] by the way folks none of us knew that this was how it was going to happen.
[01:52:52] Me and me.
[01:52:53] None of us fucking knew.
[01:52:55] David when did I when did I show you the the drawing I did and tell you or and then
[01:53:01] you told me how you want to like reveal yourself when did that happen?
[01:53:07] Yesterday evening.
[01:53:08] Yes like I decided like yes last night I was like oh shit I need to draw what
[01:53:15] Malvodon looks like and I was debating okay so how is the big reveal going to happen
[01:53:20] and I just the whole idea of hey why don't we do this publicly right about the time
[01:53:27] oh hey that's an idea the new amber society.
[01:53:31] Yeah.
[01:53:32] Yes this will work.
[01:53:36] Yeah so it may it may take like an emerald joke.
[01:53:40] Oh god damn it.
[01:53:41] It's okay you did now.
[01:53:42] Yeah yeah it's going to be like for the future of of Barovia at least like
[01:53:49] the the old the great old powers that like dwell beneath like the mists in Barovia and
[01:53:54] some of that they're going to be a little hampered for a couple of cycles perhaps more
[01:54:00] than they expected now that the Shadowfell Fomorian court has kind of moved into the
[01:54:08] vampire turf.
[01:54:10] To be fair if they didn't want us to step in they should have made the place less inviting
[01:54:15] to us.
[01:54:18] That's on them.
[01:54:19] That's fair.
[01:54:20] They should have known better.
[01:54:25] What else do I have here?
[01:54:25] Yeah so I actually did keep a thing here of like end game stuff so like
[01:54:30] I've been like kind of collecting like notes about like what your deeds and stuff
[01:54:33] like that through the game so yeah Fomorian faction stronger in Barovia being far more
[01:54:39] combative to Estraud's return.
[01:54:41] Babalus Yaga has been weakened unable to properly cast some of her greater magics
[01:54:47] but could still do some tricks to in Straud's next cycle.
[01:54:54] You guys retrieved his her book I Straud which is the a biography like an
[01:54:59] a biography of Straud's like how he came into power and stuff like that
[01:55:04] and gave that information to the to the were ravens who are already kind of a built-in setting like
[01:55:14] good aligned like they're trying to fight the endless war against evil in in the Mistylands
[01:55:21] because they traverse to the other Mistyland like realms like the Dread Domains
[01:55:25] to try and like thwart evil where it can so you basically gave them more leverage
[01:55:32] with that book and you can you kept Exanth the exophanter the lich he's still a senile old
[01:55:44] lich so he and he's being studied by Petonia so like he was the reason he was one of the
[01:55:51] reasons Straud like had so much power as he did. Like Straud on his return is probably
[01:55:57] still going to become be a vampire but in terms of like his power levels it'll be super greatly
[01:56:02] diminished to the point that perhaps some cats from Call of Cthulhu could actually like thwart him
[01:56:11] but that's also like down that's in some like like literally that's like centuries from like
[01:56:18] like like dozens of centuries from now um when Straud will return so the land does actually
[01:56:23] no peace for quite some time and since like the Fomori are going to be there and they're kind of an
[01:56:32] ageless be ageless species uh they don't they they don't forgive they don't forget and they
[01:56:39] have long memories um yeah any any other things that you guys want to add or should we even
[01:56:49] should we like um hold on and like do we want to do it do we want to do a post-mortem for
[01:56:55] this game or this campaign? Yeah I'm not okay like um or like is there anything you guys want to
[01:57:06] bring up uh now before I have uh or before I um uh request that Alistair leaves for the
[01:57:12] the final time of this campaign? I was trying to say thank you. Did we reveal everyone's dark
[01:57:19] secret throughout the game? I think so does everyone know what Dave's was?
[01:57:25] How? He's attracted to Vosin?
[01:57:30] Uh yeah actually I think that was it. It was uh you you have a yeah you have an attraction to
[01:57:35] Vosin so every time a new Vosin showed up I tried to like remember to pull that up of like
[01:57:40] now Dave or Dorotea that that that fe creature. Yeah I was basically looking through all the
[01:57:48] the dark secrets and I didn't really like any of them but the one came up saying unnatural
[01:57:53] lust which I took as a lust towards unnatural beings instead of just her being horny which was
[01:57:59] wouldn't be have been fun. Yeah let's see mine obviously I was a changeling the whole time
[01:58:08] I uh I saw that one in the book and I went oh this looks lovely and I said so
[01:58:13] Chris changeling how far can I push this?
[01:58:17] And I yeah it kind of turned into a game within a game of how well can I disguise it?
[01:58:26] Yeah um and I also just liked it because it was like double hamlet like your characters are
[01:58:33] already getting kind of like have like this like sort of um uh like doppelganger syndrome
[01:58:38] sort of situation with like having this having the twins that you you're not aware of
[01:58:43] and then have a a second kind of set of that with the changeling. It was it was glorious
[01:58:50] and very well done I had fun with it because um in my own personal head cannon of it uh Sorin
[01:58:59] can't tell a lie. Yep so the most that I can do is like within wheel of time I can ice
[01:59:07] the diet they have to swear an oath to tell the truth but they do not have to swear an
[01:59:11] oath not to misdirect so every time somebody asked me a question where I would clearly lie to
[01:59:18] I just evaded the question. Yep oh trust me I fucking noticed. I know you did. Yeah
[01:59:31] and then there of course is Josh's super serious secret dark secret. Yeah no one ever
[01:59:40] figured it out. No no totally not certainly not when Indrid Cold came came uh came around which is
[01:59:46] the I was like it was you said your character was like again your dark secret is you're
[01:59:51] secretly Swedish this whole time and I was just like what the hell like
[01:59:58] initially I was like how the hell am I supposed to like use that and then I was like wait
[02:00:02] the Swedes were terrified of Adam and I was already planning on like creating an app like a
[02:00:08] kind of using that kind of thing for like a Vossan thing with Indrid Cold I was like
[02:00:14] and Lars is Swedish. I can swear. Yeah and and Josh and Adam's like uh sort of like
[02:00:25] hate relationship or annoyed relationship to one another is like it works so well it contrasts
[02:00:31] to this because like Indrid Cold is basically just Adam in terms of description. Sorry Adam.
[02:00:40] Love you Josh. You're a villain Adam. He's an unintentional villain.
[02:00:48] I said I'm a peppered educator it's old hat. Well it also doesn't help that you I've seen
[02:00:54] a photo of you that makes you look like the slenderman so but yeah yeah honestly Jaeger I
[02:01:01] wasn't sure what we were gonna do with Jaeger like in terms of like is he gonna because he was
[02:01:05] Jaeger evolved throughout this entire game like he developed like I'm sorry Josh like I like
[02:01:11] Lars. Jaeger kind of stole Lars's spotlight. Oh shit. The dog. Yeah I know but like I was
[02:01:21] I was not sure until like I finally revealed it what he was actually what was up with
[02:01:25] with Jaeger and then I just kind of like fitted into like the the thing I'd kind of come up with
[02:01:32] for your secret like dark secret of like your family like you were you had said that your
[02:01:37] character was on the run from like because um your parents have been killed by werewolves
[02:01:41] and so I created this like cult of werewolf uh of hexen wolf sorcerers that had killed
[02:01:49] your parents and so like you had seen them as werewolves when they killed your parents and
[02:01:53] then that's when you had fled um so you're technically you're being your your family
[02:01:59] was killed by by sorcerers who can turn into werewolves in a way um. Do you have like a
[02:02:06] fear overcoming segment when we like encountered the friendly werewolves?
[02:02:13] I honestly don't think we ever that's the one thing I do kind of regret is that we never
[02:02:17] actually like went into that because yeah I don't recall him being afraid of werewolves.
[02:02:23] He he was. I never spoke. Yeah yeah which Josh I do feel like yeah I I do feel like you should have
[02:02:31] like outside of your character narrated that or like kind of given us some like point hints
[02:02:36] on that because otherwise it just seemed like you weren't really like engaging in the game
[02:02:41] but he got on he was super tired so I get it yeah that's true yeah that's also true um
[02:02:49] but yeah so uh yeah I I do I do commend you for like at least like going staying keeping that part
[02:02:54] of the bit where it's like no like these werewolves make me uncomfortable I'm not
[02:02:58] interacting with them. Like I'm not gonna be all friendly like no I don't speak unless
[02:03:03] I fucking have to. Yeah um but yeah um thanks thank you guys for for jumping into this game
[02:03:15] and and entertaining this uh this this idea of like running a Ravenloft campaign in Vossen.
[02:03:23] So this isn't like the natural Vossen like so Vossen no yeah Vossen doesn't really have
[02:03:31] there's there's actually just recently they came out with a an actual campaign setting for it
[02:03:36] but um it's basically like Call of Cthulhu but like using Swedish folklore and like
[02:03:43] northern and eastern Scandinavian folklore instead of like Cthulhu and like eldritch
[02:03:49] abominations yeah it's sort of like it's a horror investigation set in the 19th century
[02:03:56] with a little dab of like supernatural environmentalism because you as as
[02:04:02] investigators aren't always trying to kill the Vossen. You're trying to fix their problem
[02:04:09] with the encrouching human industrial um machine because like most of the time the reason why
[02:04:16] there's a conflict between humans and Vossen is because the humans are encrouching on the
[02:04:20] Vossen's territory that's been there since time immemorial and because it's in the 19th century
[02:04:27] like human industry is like kind of bulldozing forests or mining a mountain kind of stuff and
[02:04:33] basically encrouching on these creatures natural habitats. Look Ms. Dryad I'm sorry I know
[02:04:39] that you've been here in this tree for thousands of years but we need to put a parking lot where
[02:04:43] you're playing. Yeah basically yeah or you need to find a way to stop the the parking lot from
[02:04:48] being built because the Vossen are going otherwise otherwise there is the it is going
[02:04:53] to come to blows and you're going to have to put down a creature that's been there since
[02:04:58] before the species was born so yeah it's it's that kind that's that's the the the default
[02:05:07] setting is not too far off from some of the stuff I already kind of love about that I've tried to
[02:05:12] throw into some of our our grumble hammer games so that's also why I kind of fitted it on top
[02:05:19] of using the um the the D&D setting of Curse of Strahd which has like a bunch of like
[02:05:26] Barovias basically just like folklore and gothic horror which is a perfect setting to
[02:05:31] kind of like throw into this the system. It was also good to like for me to kind of like
[02:05:38] bridge the gap between Vossen and Ravenloft with the grumble hammer universe which was
[02:05:43] to me that's the earth setting like when you get where you guys came from on earth like that
[02:05:47] earth is the grumble hammer universe yeah because also like the Vossen.
[02:05:53] Because it's also connected to Eberron too. Yeah so Eberron the whole Eberron connection
[02:05:59] because like for for David and Adam I don't remember if you guys were called or if you
[02:06:03] guys were aware um me and Dave and our friend Aaron are had run a an Eberron campaign recently.
[02:06:10] So I when I was looking through uh the uh curse not the Curse of Strahd the Ravenloft book
[02:06:18] the the of the the overall Ravenloft setting um there are other dread domains other than
[02:06:24] Barovia and one of them is actually one of the the last train trying to get out of
[02:06:30] the Mournlands in Eberron which is this place that is like turned into a disaster zone
[02:06:34] by arcane bombs um and it is basically a creepy ass like carcosa-esque ghost train
[02:06:43] and I was like well how the hell am I going to get these people from earth
[02:06:46] to a D&D realm why not it's the 19th century why not a creepy
[02:06:53] gro- a creepy transdimensional ghost train hey creepy transdimensional ghost train is awesome
[02:07:00] yeah yeah that was a good hook yeah and it gave us a whole little adventure and like
[02:07:05] fortunately somebody actually went ahead and and on drive-through RPG and actually made
[02:07:10] um the dread like fleshed out the dread domain of the seer 1313 so I was able to actually
[02:07:17] use that for that that one shot and uh that's how we got Tim like Tim was actually like that's
[02:07:23] that's just an encounter uh in the uh in the train is that you encounter a guy who is getting
[02:07:29] killed uh he's he's you you encounter him as a ghost and he has gone through this hellish
[02:07:36] cycle of being every every uh six or seven hours he is revived as a huge as a flesh
[02:07:42] and blood person and then killed again by a mysterious person on the train and it becomes
[02:07:48] that ghost and so the the encounter is you guys have to figure out either how to stop that from
[02:07:56] happening continually or just leave it just leave him to his torment so and as a result you guys
[02:08:04] had a sort of an off and off again on again lackey through the campaign I did love him he was
[02:08:11] yep and just the fearful am I gonna die if I go this way no no you're not gonna die are you sure
[02:08:19] because I've died a lot and I don't want to do it again it's like I'm tired of dying
[02:08:25] do you think also not die yeah also the dig to Cincinnati is like hey do you want to go
[02:08:30] like uh I've heard this place we have this place called Cincinnati it's like
[02:08:33] oh Adam you bring back the my nightmare memories of Cincinnati
[02:08:40] Sin City more like but um yeah I feel like some of this we could also probably uh talk more on
[02:08:47] and a post-mortem rather than the the end of this of this game this the session is basically
[02:08:52] a post-mortem right now yeah so I'll stop for now um and uh I guess um yeah until
[02:08:59] until next time internet this has been the Mistborn campaign uh goodbye take care sleep well
