The Secret World tabletop RPG, developed by Star Anvil Studios, comes in two versions: The Secret World 5E and The Secret World SWADE. Based on Funcom's popular MMORPG, the game is set in the modern day where players take on the role of "Bees," the chosen defenders of Gaia. As Bees, players navigate the intrigues of secret societies while confronting both mortal and supernatural threats.
In this two-part Rollup, we will explore character creation in The Secret World 5E. In the upcoming second part, we will create these same characters using The Secret World for Savage Worlds.

00:00:00 --> 00:00:15 Music.
00:00:15 --> 00:00:19 Hi welcome to the role-playing exchange for a roll-up game
00:00:19 --> 00:00:25 or for a roll-up session this time we are rolling up the secret world fifth
00:00:25 --> 00:00:32 edition so about a year or two ago maybe about three years ago a company got
00:00:32 --> 00:00:38 the rights from funcom to make a tabletop rpg of my favorite mmo the secret world,
00:00:39 --> 00:00:44 and i finally have the books and i have run a campaign of it and now i want
00:00:44 --> 00:00:48 to spread on the good word of Gaia to RPX.
00:00:49 --> 00:00:55 So, yeah, by the way, my name is Chris or Crazon, the cultist of many names.
00:00:56 --> 00:00:59 And yeah, if you want to take it away for the rest of it.
00:01:00 --> 00:01:04 Oh, yeah, no problem. I'm just enjoying you bring us in.
00:01:04 --> 00:01:08 So, yeah, this is Adam, and I have no idea what I'm creating or who I'm creating,
00:01:08 --> 00:01:12 but I'm sure I'll make them interesting. Going in Discord order after Adam,
00:01:12 --> 00:01:16 who actually is last because he has some devil horns in his name for some reason.
00:01:17 --> 00:01:21 Hi, I'm Brownie. I feel like I'm going to have to stone Crazon with some D20s
00:01:21 --> 00:01:24 later, but here I am. I offered Savage Worlds, but that'll come later.
00:01:26 --> 00:01:27 Learned it from watching you, Dad.
00:01:29 --> 00:01:36 Hey, everybody. It's Darcy. I'm here ready to learn about the good word of Gaia
00:01:36 --> 00:01:41 and everything that Gaia may bring to our lives. It's an illusion.
00:01:42 --> 00:01:44 Reality is an illusion time is a memory.
00:01:47 --> 00:01:48 The bees are awakening.
00:01:51 --> 00:01:56 Next up is our favorite deep one okay it took me a second i was like wait a
00:01:56 --> 00:01:57 minute i was waiting for the other d to go,
00:02:00 --> 00:02:04 i forgot we don't know our alphabet this is jeremy uh by the way it's early,
00:02:05 --> 00:02:10 there was a late game last night and oh fuck but i am tired so sorry about that
00:02:10 --> 00:02:13 we'll see what happens no I wouldn't trade it it was amazing it was one of my
00:02:13 --> 00:02:18 favorite games I've played in and look forward on RPX whenever we sometime release
00:02:18 --> 00:02:19 Resident it'll be a good time,
00:02:20 --> 00:02:24 And I guess that leaves me. Hi, everybody. This is David. And I've actually
00:02:24 --> 00:02:30 figured out what class I'm going to play by rolling a die and landing on one. Nice.
00:02:32 --> 00:02:36 Yeah, that just makes it easy because this book has a lot of classes and archetypes.
00:02:36 --> 00:02:40 And I'll try my best to shepherd you guys through the...
00:02:42 --> 00:02:46 All right. So, yeah, quick, I guess, just sort of a thing about the secret world.
00:02:46 --> 00:02:49 So the setting is the modern day. it's set i
00:02:49 --> 00:02:52 think 2023 2024 and the
00:02:52 --> 00:02:55 world has this again there there's the
00:02:55 --> 00:02:59 there's the public world that everybody knows that like like our
00:02:59 --> 00:03:02 world and some of that kind of like that but then beneath the
00:03:02 --> 00:03:05 veneer and past facades and such there is
00:03:05 --> 00:03:08 the secret world where secret societies and
00:03:08 --> 00:03:11 from from ages past vie for control of
00:03:11 --> 00:03:14 the planet meanwhile eldritch horrors dwell
00:03:14 --> 00:03:17 and and hope to wake someday and corrupt
00:03:17 --> 00:03:22 the world and eat our star and there are a bunch of a bunch of other supernatural
00:03:22 --> 00:03:28 factions and organizations and creatures that coexist in the world basically
00:03:28 --> 00:03:36 the the premise of the secret world setting is everything is true like the theories all of them.
00:03:37 --> 00:03:40 Nothing's too far yeah like there there might
00:03:40 --> 00:03:43 be a version like might be a it might be a derivative of the
00:03:43 --> 00:03:46 conspiracy but chances are there is some truth and nuggets of
00:03:46 --> 00:03:49 truth to those conspiracies or legends and and myths
00:03:49 --> 00:03:52 so yeah you you
00:03:52 --> 00:03:55 care your characters in this game in the default version of the game because
00:03:55 --> 00:04:00 they haven't given us just like regular humans or anything that basing it off
00:04:00 --> 00:04:05 of the mmo you are you're what are called bees or gaia's bees you are humans
00:04:05 --> 00:04:10 or individuals that were chosen by Gaia, which is this sort of,
00:04:11 --> 00:04:12 it's sort of like a reality engine.
00:04:14 --> 00:04:15 That dwells within the Earth.
00:04:16 --> 00:04:23 It's basically like the god machine that kind of maintains balance between the light and the dark. And,
00:04:24 --> 00:04:30 has sent out its bees, literally these special magical bees that while you were
00:04:30 --> 00:04:37 sleeping, they just went into your mouth and fused with your body to give you demigod-esque power.
00:04:37 --> 00:04:45 So it infused you with anima, the magic, the raw power and magic of the world
00:04:45 --> 00:04:51 and reality so that you could perform crazy stunts and crazy abilities and stuff like that.
00:04:51 --> 00:04:55 And you have a bit of a new
00:04:55 --> 00:04:58 lease on life in that when you if
00:04:58 --> 00:05:03 you are killed or if you die in some fashion you can be resurrected by gaia
00:05:03 --> 00:05:11 so i wonder how i wonder how many times of resurrection it it's all just buzzing
00:05:11 --> 00:05:15 up there you know no thoughts it just buzz well yeah yeah.
00:05:17 --> 00:05:20 From what from the one campaign we've run we've had
00:05:20 --> 00:05:23 it where like we've been like kind of tinkering with it because some of
00:05:23 --> 00:05:26 my players were curious about that mechanic as well and
00:05:26 --> 00:05:29 how it would play out for like long term you could
00:05:29 --> 00:05:32 basically just keep playing like you could basically
00:05:32 --> 00:05:35 just stay as an immortal dying and being reborn and
00:05:35 --> 00:05:37 so that and just waiting out the time limit that there is a sort
00:05:37 --> 00:05:41 of like a time that has to pass before you are before
00:05:41 --> 00:05:44 your body is like knitted back together or you you
00:05:44 --> 00:05:47 end up spawning sheet yeah yeah but while
00:05:47 --> 00:05:50 you're in that limbo space like your soul or whatever it is
00:05:50 --> 00:05:55 there are two factions that are kind of vying for your free will while you're
00:05:55 --> 00:06:00 in there known as the like it's like an emissary of the of the heavenly of the
00:06:00 --> 00:06:06 heavenly host or the angelic host and this emissary for the dreaming ones which
00:06:06 --> 00:06:08 are the things that are locked away in the earth,
00:06:09 --> 00:06:13 sleeping and dreaming and waiting to be awoken so they can devour the star, the sun.
00:06:15 --> 00:06:19 Basically, you're Cthulhu monster, like the elder gods and some of that are dreaming.
00:06:20 --> 00:06:24 Sun sashimi sounds nice. You know, I think I'm getting where they're coming from.
00:06:26 --> 00:06:30 And yeah, so these these two factions are at odds, but they are trying to trying
00:06:30 --> 00:06:35 to influence you that one of the bees to one to their side or the other so that
00:06:35 --> 00:06:39 like you can become one like you can help them out or in exchange,
00:06:39 --> 00:06:43 they'll send you back faster when you go space.
00:06:43 --> 00:06:47 But you're giving away a bit of your free will every time you do that or you strike that deal.
00:06:48 --> 00:06:52 So yeah it's basically always a cost yeah
00:06:52 --> 00:06:55 it's basically a secret conflict or a secret there's
00:06:55 --> 00:06:57 it's a secret uh like war going on between
00:06:57 --> 00:07:00 multiple factions and stuff like that and you're
00:07:00 --> 00:07:03 just kind of caught in the middle of it because gaia chose you
00:07:03 --> 00:07:07 awful nice ever yeah feed
00:07:07 --> 00:07:12 me full of bees and put me on a mission yeah yeah so on top and usually once
00:07:12 --> 00:07:17 you become a bee you are recruited by the three big the the three big uh societies
00:07:17 --> 00:07:23 which are the templar the illuminati and the the dragon the dragon have domain
00:07:23 --> 00:07:25 over the over the asian continent,
00:07:26 --> 00:07:31 the templar have domain over the european european continent and parts of africa
00:07:31 --> 00:07:36 i believe and then illuminati have south america have north america and south america,
00:07:37 --> 00:07:42 with varying degrees of like mix it or bleeding and mixing on that too because there's like,
00:07:43 --> 00:07:46 different areas that like end up getting in conflicts with each other or they
00:07:46 --> 00:07:52 have like conflicting influence but yeah so that's that's kind of like the the
00:07:52 --> 00:07:55 bare bones of the of the system or the the setting yeah,
00:07:55 --> 00:08:00 you're you're one of guys chosen and as a result you've been tapped you usually
00:08:00 --> 00:08:05 as soon as you become a guy a guy a bee you get chosen by one of the three factions
00:08:05 --> 00:08:10 or whoever gets to you first basically and they recruit you to to be one of
00:08:10 --> 00:08:13 their like to be affiliated with them so are there.
00:08:15 --> 00:08:18 Just talking like worship wise for
00:08:18 --> 00:08:21 the world is there like physical symptoms of being a bee aside
00:08:21 --> 00:08:25 from like you are now like a demigod like
00:08:25 --> 00:08:31 can can other bees sense you yes so you hear a buzzing in your head as gaia
00:08:31 --> 00:08:38 will send you messages oh and and sometimes send you on now we speak be not
00:08:38 --> 00:08:43 quite but you have grander beyond why is that man wiggling his butt,
00:08:44 --> 00:08:48 you can sense when another bee is nearby like you'll you're you're you're that
00:08:48 --> 00:08:51 that buzzing that's now present in the back of your head will start getting
00:08:51 --> 00:08:56 stronger, or you'll start hearing cryptic messages from Gaia herself,
00:08:56 --> 00:09:00 which comes in almost like a number station-esque radio broadcast. Oh my god.
00:09:01 --> 00:09:06 Juicy. Ominous. Yeah. I want it to be like actual bees where they dance.
00:09:06 --> 00:09:11 Interpretive dance is how we communicate. Oh my god. I just had this random
00:09:11 --> 00:09:15 thought of just two people meeting at a coffee shop, and then for no reason
00:09:15 --> 00:09:18 whatsoever, they just start going into this intricate...
00:09:18 --> 00:09:23 Like fashion model walk off with butt shakes. All of a sudden somebody's twerking
00:09:23 --> 00:09:24 and they're like, I got you, bud.
00:09:26 --> 00:09:30 What the hell is this? And then suddenly there's just a fight.
00:09:30 --> 00:09:34 It's like, apparently they said they twerked something at each other that they disagreed with.
00:09:35 --> 00:09:37 Like the sharks and the jets meet up.
00:09:39 --> 00:09:44 It is also kind of like in terms of like when you are getting missions and stuff
00:09:44 --> 00:09:47 like that and like doing doing adventures and stuff. It is kind of like Delta
00:09:47 --> 00:09:48 Green, but a little bit more,
00:09:49 --> 00:09:56 Delta Green through an outer force because you get missions from your secret
00:09:56 --> 00:09:59 society to go do things and stuff like that,
00:09:59 --> 00:10:04 but you also get missions from Gaia herself and if you just ignore that buzzing that's in your head,
00:10:05 --> 00:10:09 it's just going to get stronger and louder and louder until you do it.
00:10:10 --> 00:10:14 God, I just thought I had tinnitus this entire thing. God, speak it to me.
00:10:15 --> 00:10:20 Yeah, it's kind of like that actually. uh uh there is there is a person in like
00:10:20 --> 00:10:25 a kind of a default quest giver in the game who follows the way of gaia and
00:10:25 --> 00:10:27 doesn't follow any of the other secret societies.
00:10:28 --> 00:10:37 I think his name is barry or zen zembari he is a yeah zoobry and he is a just sort of a neutral,
00:10:38 --> 00:10:41 group that kind of just works with bees because he is
00:10:41 --> 00:10:43 sort of like he's on gaia's side yeah he's the
00:10:43 --> 00:10:47 gatekeeper yeah the gatekeeper yeah
00:10:47 --> 00:10:49 but so he'll sometimes ask you for
00:10:49 --> 00:10:52 a mission he'll sometimes task you with missions but you still
00:10:52 --> 00:10:55 also have to kind of balance that with like whatever your your secret society
00:10:55 --> 00:10:58 wants you to do as well so so like if
00:10:58 --> 00:11:01 you and and the cool thing about this game is you don't have to be
00:11:01 --> 00:11:09 like you're not like as a players uh-huh you don't have to you're as a group
00:11:09 --> 00:11:13 of players you're not confined to being one specific faction because the factions
00:11:13 --> 00:11:18 do conf like the factions fight but right now they're kind of in a a tenuous pact,
00:11:19 --> 00:11:22 like it's you can be like an illuminati and
00:11:22 --> 00:11:25 then you can have somebody your friends a templar and you
00:11:25 --> 00:11:28 guys can do missions for gaia but just know
00:11:28 --> 00:11:31 in the background the templar and the illuminati have
00:11:31 --> 00:11:35 might have ulterior motives during the mission like the templar may want you
00:11:35 --> 00:11:39 to burn down whatever the item whatever the artifact you're you're hunting for
00:11:39 --> 00:11:44 gaia is and illuminati may want you to collect it for them so yeah that's that's
00:11:44 --> 00:11:48 sort of the setting and like the default thing for the game i guess we should
00:11:48 --> 00:11:50 move on to the character actual character creation.
00:11:51 --> 00:11:54 Which this setting so yeah when the kickstarter came
00:11:54 --> 00:11:58 out they they decided to do it in fifth edition to kind of garner the most attention
00:11:58 --> 00:12:05 for it so the the version we're doing is is dnd 5e version of secret world again
00:12:05 --> 00:12:09 there is a a savage worlds version that's come out recently though the which
00:12:09 --> 00:12:12 was sort of the version they wanted to do first,
00:12:12 --> 00:12:17 but they had to garner more attention for the setting and the system. So...
00:12:18 --> 00:12:23 Yeah, so this game is being powered by 5e. Brownie, please don't hit me.
00:12:25 --> 00:12:27 Well, I can't hit you with a D20 from here.
00:12:29 --> 00:12:32 In the next couple of weeks, you're here knocking at the door.
00:12:32 --> 00:12:33 It's like, hello? Brownie!
00:12:34 --> 00:12:38 Just actually with a D20 and then turn around and leaves. So,
00:12:38 --> 00:12:41 before we're completely off of the Stony Chris with the D20s thing.
00:12:41 --> 00:12:45 I have a friend in Canada who does kettlebell lifting competitions,
00:12:45 --> 00:12:48 and I haven't done this because the shipping would be insane.
00:12:48 --> 00:12:51 But i really want to make her a dld 20
00:12:51 --> 00:12:55 filled with concrete oh god nice and
00:12:55 --> 00:12:58 a handle and then send her my
00:12:58 --> 00:13:01 address and for no reason oh don't
00:13:01 --> 00:13:04 worry she's in bc you're fine okay yeah so don't
00:13:04 --> 00:13:07 go to the west coast got it you're fine
00:13:07 --> 00:13:10 until you're not so the game in terms
00:13:10 --> 00:13:13 of character creation so step one is origin
00:13:13 --> 00:13:17 while other while other fantasy versions of
00:13:17 --> 00:13:19 these rules allow for origins such as elves and
00:13:19 --> 00:13:22 dwarves and such the secret world as a
00:13:22 --> 00:13:25 default all players player characters are bees which are
00:13:25 --> 00:13:29 humans imbued with the power of anima during this
00:13:29 --> 00:13:34 step record your character's bee traits so what
00:13:34 --> 00:13:37 page are we on chris we're on this is so the the
00:13:37 --> 00:13:40 step-by-step stuff is on 111 the uh
00:13:40 --> 00:13:44 or the b traits and the origin stuff is on 112 okay i
00:13:44 --> 00:13:49 see we're at so how does one go about doing this part okay so yeah for b traits
00:13:49 --> 00:13:54 it's pretty your ability score increases for so i guess we should probably do
00:13:54 --> 00:13:57 yeah you guys have you guys probably have to do your you probably want to like
00:13:57 --> 00:14:02 figure out your ability scores first yeah if you heard my oh god.
00:14:02 --> 00:14:10 In the middle i was rolling my stats oh no well huh yeah well i i started out
00:14:10 --> 00:14:14 i got three 11s straight out of the gate i haven't assigned anything yet but
00:14:14 --> 00:14:17 i i really thought there for a moment when i hit my third one i was like am
00:14:17 --> 00:14:21 i gonna roll all 11s i was like is this gaia.
00:14:22 --> 00:14:26 Am i meant to be squishy well the
00:14:26 --> 00:14:28 good thing even if you have like three 11s you
00:14:28 --> 00:14:32 could possibly bring two of those to 12s because the ability score increase
00:14:32 --> 00:14:37 allows you to increase one ability score by two or two scores by one very nice
00:14:37 --> 00:14:47 very nice and so i did use myself i've already got mine rolled up okay so i ended up with 10 uh 17 and
00:14:47 --> 00:14:51 Actually, it was a 9, a 17, a 16, a 10, a 14, a 16.
00:14:52 --> 00:14:55 And that's the order I put them in. So my strength ended up 10.
00:14:56 --> 00:15:01 My dex, because I'm supposed to be nimble for this build, is an 18.
00:15:02 --> 00:15:06 16 con, 10 int, 14 whiz, and 16 charisma.
00:15:07 --> 00:15:13 I rolled mine up. And for context, the way you do it is you roll 4d6 and you
00:15:13 --> 00:15:14 drop the lowest and you add the other ones.
00:15:15 --> 00:15:18 Yeah, I haven't assigned them yet. But I ended up rolling a 12,
00:15:18 --> 00:15:21 a 15, a 13, a 12, a 14, and a 15.
00:15:21 --> 00:15:25 So my dice were loving me for some reason. So I feel like everything else is
00:15:25 --> 00:15:29 going to go completely sideways. I don't necessarily know what. As it often does.
00:15:29 --> 00:15:33 I don't necessarily know what I'm going to be putting them in because I'm still
00:15:33 --> 00:15:34 trying to figure out my class.
00:15:34 --> 00:15:37 But I'm sure something will be men and something will be max.
00:15:38 --> 00:15:42 I'll tell you what. This is kind of a good point for us to kind of take a break
00:15:42 --> 00:15:45 and kind of assign points and whatnot here. and then we'll kind of transfer
00:15:45 --> 00:15:48 back over and kind of relate everything.
00:15:48 --> 00:15:51 Because to be honest with you, I don't have any dice. I'm sitting here like, oh, yeah.
00:15:52 --> 00:15:56 Yeah, I totally have these. Here's my numbers. Roland's so many 18s.
00:15:56 --> 00:15:58 He just made a couple, yeah, he just started making up numbers.
00:16:00 --> 00:16:03 How did you roll a 19 on three dice?
00:16:05 --> 00:16:08 Gaia. Yeah, yeah, yeah, Gaia. Gaia.
00:16:10 --> 00:16:24 Music.
00:16:23 --> 00:16:26 So our next step is choosing classes we know
00:16:26 --> 00:16:31 that david's already rolled a one and is an assassin which is no surprise adam
00:16:31 --> 00:16:35 how many guns does your gunslinger have and what caliber do they fire oh i didn't
00:16:35 --> 00:16:40 even decided on a class yet classes like we already know about assassin we now
00:16:40 --> 00:16:45 know but the gunslier there's the demolisher which is basically like the berserker or like the barbarian,
00:16:46 --> 00:16:50 there's a magus which is essentially the settings wizard mercenary
00:16:50 --> 00:16:58 punisher ravager trickster and warlock so the other ones are a little bit trickier
00:16:58 --> 00:17:03 mercenary they're basically just like a soldier a fighter kind of type character
00:17:03 --> 00:17:10 yeah punisher uh that one's hard to just sort of figure out what that
00:17:10 --> 00:17:13 punisher is almost like a samurai that goes after yeah
00:17:13 --> 00:17:16 weird things like a paladin almost yeah i
00:17:16 --> 00:17:21 guess yeah for maybe ravager is uh they're they're specialized in claw weapons
00:17:21 --> 00:17:26 so like hand claw like like wolverine claw kind of things but you can like like
00:17:26 --> 00:17:30 just but not like go come out of your your hand but like you can just like equip
00:17:30 --> 00:17:36 trickster are chaos magic uh users and then,
00:17:36 --> 00:17:41 warlock is pretty self explanatory from D&D it's it's a character who gets their
00:17:41 --> 00:17:45 magic from outer forces or has some of their magic from outer forces.
00:17:46 --> 00:17:52 The thing to know is even as a fighter-type character, like the mercenary and
00:17:52 --> 00:17:53 whatnot, you all have magic.
00:17:54 --> 00:17:59 Basically, this is a system where all the classes are some kind of magic user in some capacity.
00:18:00 --> 00:18:03 Yeah. Great Gaia. Yeah.
00:18:04 --> 00:18:11 Yeah. Honestly, I want to play Pickup. I feel like Jeremy was looking at the Gunslinger.
00:18:12 --> 00:18:15 I was eyeballing Gunslinger or Punisher. I'm not sure which one.
00:18:15 --> 00:18:17 You guys, I'll jump in last.
00:18:17 --> 00:18:20 I'll fill in the blank. So we already got an assassin.
00:18:21 --> 00:18:24 What else we got? Adam, you're taking my move. I like going last.
00:18:24 --> 00:18:26 I'll go second to last, Sam, if you want to.
00:18:28 --> 00:18:30 Well, no, I've got some ideas as well. But, Darcy, you were saying?
00:18:31 --> 00:18:35 Yeah, I haven't narrowed it down to one of the three, but I'm going to play
00:18:35 --> 00:18:39 a magic user, as is my 5e way.
00:18:40 --> 00:18:47 I'm debating right now between tricksters a little thick. I am intrigued by it.
00:18:47 --> 00:18:52 I have not read into Warlock yet, but Warlock is my most familiar.
00:18:54 --> 00:18:57 Hunting at it now, it's certainly interesting. I...
00:18:58 --> 00:19:03 Actually, I'll hold that. I'll go ahead and give off all my stats, but I'll come back to it.
00:19:04 --> 00:19:08 But when I decide what kind of magical asshole I'm about to be.
00:19:10 --> 00:19:14 And I've kind of got two right now. And which one I go with kind of depends
00:19:14 --> 00:19:15 on which character concept I go with.
00:19:16 --> 00:19:18 You mentioned conspiracy. And so, of course, I think Marvin.
00:19:19 --> 00:19:22 And and marvin would be a mercenary because that's kind of closest
00:19:22 --> 00:19:26 to what he would have been as a cia wet worker and then
00:19:26 --> 00:19:29 you also have this cycle of rebirth and i think i
00:19:29 --> 00:19:32 live i die i live again and i kind of want to be a demolisher
00:19:32 --> 00:19:35 war boy of some sort demolishers are
00:19:35 --> 00:19:38 like that they're a modern day barbarian that have
00:19:38 --> 00:19:44 that in the game your your starting weapon is a fucking sledgehammer so like
00:19:44 --> 00:19:47 because it's modern day stuff so it's just like yeah you're you're this you
00:19:47 --> 00:19:52 have a giant hammer and you see i live i die i live again that makes me think
00:19:52 --> 00:19:56 you know mad max it makes me think those war boys but then i think there is
00:19:56 --> 00:19:58 this that makes you think cars,
00:19:58 --> 00:20:03 and that makes me think vin diesel of course oh god because he would be a very
00:20:03 --> 00:20:09 good good demolisher yeah so i'm still going back and forth let's let's opine
00:20:09 --> 00:20:14 on this a little bit more who's next i guess that's adam okay you know i think
00:20:14 --> 00:20:17 i'm gonna go ahead and pick something a little off I was thinking of,
00:20:18 --> 00:20:22 I mean, it seemed like the gunslingers, like an archer class and a trickster
00:20:22 --> 00:20:26 kind of seemed cool, but I hadn't heard. I don't think anybody was mentioning Ravager.
00:20:26 --> 00:20:29 And I just like, I think being a scrapper would be fun.
00:20:30 --> 00:20:35 Yeah. They're basically like the brawler, I think, type or like if I look at the rules for that.
00:20:37 --> 00:20:41 Yeah. The former boxer wades into the moaning throng of zombies.
00:20:42 --> 00:20:46 Each punch crackles and angry light with angry lightning and shocking discharge.
00:20:47 --> 00:20:49 Scorching necrotic flesh on impact.
00:20:50 --> 00:20:55 Just as the pugilist seems overwhelmed by sheer numbers, he scatters and dismembers
00:20:55 --> 00:20:59 the shambling horrors with a shockwave from the thunderclap scream.
00:20:59 --> 00:21:01 Yeah, so basically you're a magical brawler.
00:21:02 --> 00:21:06 I kind of like that. So, you know, if I were going to add my own text to it,
00:21:07 --> 00:21:11 the redneck walked into the tomb. Hold my beer.
00:21:12 --> 00:21:17 Hold my beer. It looks at Dracula. I'm going to bend your teeth.
00:21:17 --> 00:21:22 Well, that's another thing. dracula does exist in the setting he's not a vampire
00:21:22 --> 00:21:24 he's the og vampire hunter,
00:21:25 --> 00:21:28 and his his his his extended family like
00:21:28 --> 00:21:32 through the ages and their their
00:21:32 --> 00:21:35 kin the draculeshty are basically
00:21:35 --> 00:21:41 like romani dragon hunters in the setting oh so or not not dragon hunter vampire
00:21:41 --> 00:21:46 hunters yeah if you're going redneck vampire hunter you could be i stopped into
00:21:46 --> 00:21:51 the buckies and got myself a can of Four Loko from Builder Pills and a Bandolier
00:21:51 --> 00:21:53 of Garlic. Yeah, exactly.
00:21:55 --> 00:22:00 There we go. Bandolier of Garlic flavored Slim Jims. You can't turn that Four
00:22:00 --> 00:22:02 Loko into holy water. And I said, you watch me, son.
00:22:03 --> 00:22:09 And I say, hold my beer. That's the one signature thing I know for redneck things.
00:22:10 --> 00:22:13 Jeremy, you gotta be a punisher now so you can bless my Four Loko.
00:22:14 --> 00:22:17 I'm eyeballing that. there's an advanced version
00:22:17 --> 00:22:20 of that craze on hold my beer and
00:22:20 --> 00:22:22 watch this yeah yeah watch this
00:22:22 --> 00:22:25 is a big one you know what his brother said well hell i could
00:22:25 --> 00:22:28 do that i'd fly
00:22:28 --> 00:22:31 up getting down he was about half crazy so so
00:22:31 --> 00:22:35 so solidly we have an assassin a a ravager
00:22:35 --> 00:22:39 and punisher i'm
00:22:39 --> 00:22:42 looking at a punisher it's either going to be a gun slicker
00:22:42 --> 00:22:46 i think i'm going to do a gun i think i'm gonna do a punisher with a gunslinger
00:22:46 --> 00:22:49 side build okay the secret uh yeah
00:22:49 --> 00:22:51 the secret the secret archetypes again i'll get into that and
00:22:51 --> 00:22:54 once we get to that they they give
00:22:54 --> 00:22:57 you they basically give you extra theming and
00:22:57 --> 00:23:01 like specificity on your on your class so like
00:23:01 --> 00:23:03 uh and they are actually interchangeable as the game as you level
00:23:03 --> 00:23:06 up in the game like you can secret archetypes can
00:23:06 --> 00:23:09 be actually like swapped out from your character after like
00:23:09 --> 00:23:14 a short after a i think a shorter long rest so but
00:23:14 --> 00:23:18 they do how they do help for like healing or like giving you an extra boost
00:23:18 --> 00:23:21 on like whatever you're trying to do depending on the kind of archetype you've
00:23:21 --> 00:23:27 chosen as much as i love marvin i think i am going to go with the uh the demolisher
00:23:27 --> 00:23:34 loosely based off of uh corretto i don't i don't have i have family.
00:23:36 --> 00:23:42 Always has a corona So he can always say hold my beer Yep Are you gonna name him Din Wiesel?
00:23:43 --> 00:23:45 Din Wiesel God damn it,
00:23:46 --> 00:23:49 I'll work on it. I'll come up with some other sort of automotive fuel that sounds good.
00:23:51 --> 00:23:55 If I was playing some type of trickster character, I was going to do something
00:23:55 --> 00:23:58 like Ignatius Blast instead of Iggy Pop. Nice.
00:23:59 --> 00:24:04 Darth is a rock star who swallowed a bee. Well, he has a lust for life. Yeah.
00:24:04 --> 00:24:10 Okay, so, Darcy, were you still going to go with the... Did you cement down
00:24:10 --> 00:24:12 on a Warlock or is it still up in the air?
00:24:12 --> 00:24:15 I was debating between Warlock and trickster,
00:24:15 --> 00:24:18 but in reading deeper into trickster correct me
00:24:18 --> 00:24:21 if i'm wrong is this bard based i think
00:24:21 --> 00:24:26 so i think the trickster is basically the bard yep i'm warlock yep
00:24:26 --> 00:24:30 okay i got it yeah like they're basically all the classes are kind of like dnd
00:24:30 --> 00:24:35 coded um to some capacity again they had to work around the rules of dnd to
00:24:35 --> 00:24:43 for this yeah so yeah no i i'm gonna lock it in i'm warlock okay nothing nothing heavy
00:24:43 --> 00:24:46 locked in but i will tell you i'm gonna be i'm gonna
00:24:46 --> 00:24:49 be a gaia fiend i already know i'm
00:24:49 --> 00:24:52 gonna serve our great goddess and in terms
00:24:52 --> 00:24:56 of stats like i was mentioning my one
00:24:56 --> 00:25:00 through three unassigned so far 11 11
00:25:00 --> 00:25:03 11 oh great gaia and then
00:25:03 --> 00:25:06 i got 17 and then double 15 so
00:25:06 --> 00:25:09 we hopefully will not
00:25:09 --> 00:25:13 have the squishiest magic caster yeah well
00:25:13 --> 00:25:16 i mean again like when when you have resurrection yeah
00:25:16 --> 00:25:22 being squishy doesn't necessarily hurt the game so is there anything else or
00:25:22 --> 00:25:26 should we go ahead and start doing some calculations the only other thing i
00:25:26 --> 00:25:32 think the faction stuff and oh the faction stuff in the background stuff will
00:25:32 --> 00:25:36 give you some stuff like give you skills and stuff of that as specialization.
00:25:36 --> 00:25:41 I don't think it necessarily gives you... Looks like they each give a stat and
00:25:41 --> 00:25:43 a skill. Oh, does it? Okay, it does give you a stat? Okay.
00:25:44 --> 00:25:47 Yeah, like I was looking at this dragon, and I'm going dragon here.
00:25:49 --> 00:25:52 Guys, I figured Asia, Australia, eh. Yeah.
00:25:53 --> 00:25:56 So ability score increased. Navigating chaos requires deafness and control,
00:25:57 --> 00:26:02 so perceiving hidden truths requires steps of soul. Increase your dex or wisdom by one.
00:26:03 --> 00:26:08 Yeah, okay. And then opening the third eye, basically pick between insight,
00:26:08 --> 00:26:09 perception, or survival.
00:26:09 --> 00:26:16 Considering it's d20, I am going to assume that perception is the most rolled skill in the game.
00:26:16 --> 00:26:21 What i mean 5e does have a passive perception but yeah fair enough you probably
00:26:21 --> 00:26:29 want that to be the highest yeah just a lot yeah that's i ended up going punisher just just okay yep,
00:26:29 --> 00:26:33 well please tell me your family is still alive and well but you keep referring to them.
00:26:34 --> 00:26:37 I'm going to now it's also going to be i think i'm
00:26:37 --> 00:26:40 also going to go dragon either that or illuminati i'm not sure
00:26:40 --> 00:26:43 yeah yeah as a kind of a i
00:26:43 --> 00:26:47 guess a rough for the for what the different factions are dragon are
00:26:47 --> 00:26:50 the sort of very secretive mystical
00:26:50 --> 00:26:53 society that believes in chaos and
00:26:53 --> 00:26:56 the butterfly effect so like they believe in
00:26:56 --> 00:27:01 changing the world through small subtle things and pulling the strings like
00:27:01 --> 00:27:05 pulling the strings on certain events to set off a big a bigger chain of events
00:27:05 --> 00:27:09 the templar are your brute force
00:27:09 --> 00:27:14 demon slaying we just burn down an entire city to kill one demon lord,
00:27:15 --> 00:27:18 kind of people. They're the monster hunters.
00:27:18 --> 00:27:23 They're the most open of the secret societies because even in the public eye,
00:27:23 --> 00:27:24 people know about the Templar.
00:27:26 --> 00:27:29 And then the Illuminati, I believe I got to reference their quote.
00:27:30 --> 00:27:35 I think it's sex, drugs, and Rockefeller is their, I think, one of their quotes.
00:27:35 --> 00:27:44 They are the corporate secret society that runs the show in the modern world
00:27:44 --> 00:27:48 of America and Canada and some parts of South America.
00:27:50 --> 00:27:55 All right. So I went to the fantasy name generator for Hillbilly.
00:27:55 --> 00:28:02 And because i very nice look i think i love how like my people are a fantasy,
00:28:03 --> 00:28:07 so i am going to be a
00:28:07 --> 00:28:11 god verne verne oh
00:28:11 --> 00:28:14 my god well i mean i for well
00:28:14 --> 00:28:17 you know what you mean well i'm verne that's what
00:28:17 --> 00:28:20 ernest refers to sir or it's
00:28:20 --> 00:28:23 verne goston yeah jim barney wasn't earnest sorry
00:28:23 --> 00:28:26 yeah jim varney yeah yeah jim varney
00:28:26 --> 00:28:30 was earnest and he kept referring to burn who
00:28:30 --> 00:28:33 was his buddy off screen i never ever saw
00:28:33 --> 00:28:39 verne gotcha okay yeah and i think i'm gonna be a templar even though i'm an
00:28:39 --> 00:28:42 american so i mean you again like you can you can be in different different
00:28:42 --> 00:28:46 nationalities and be of templar because they everybody's got their fingers in
00:28:46 --> 00:28:50 in in everybody else's pie hence why there's like war kind of like there was
00:28:50 --> 00:28:52 like the secret wars in the,
00:28:53 --> 00:28:56 there's different conflicts there are different like tensions and such like that so.
00:28:58 --> 00:29:00 Okay templars actually sounded pretty good,
00:29:02 --> 00:29:07 you pressed my four loco buddy come on i was actually while i was thinking about it,
00:29:08 --> 00:29:12 i i've got a name and it goes along with the the origin and the the faction
00:29:12 --> 00:29:15 in the background all the other fun stuff that i've kind of kind of worked up
00:29:15 --> 00:29:18 with so the name is damn octane,
00:29:19 --> 00:29:23 damn octane right uh he's
00:29:23 --> 00:29:26 a templar uh and the street racing crew
00:29:26 --> 00:29:29 that he was originally with depending on still with or not
00:29:29 --> 00:29:33 depends are the night knights night as
00:29:33 --> 00:29:36 an evening nights as in armor the night knights oh
00:29:36 --> 00:29:40 my god the night night yeah and that there could be some other things there
00:29:40 --> 00:29:46 you know depending on how we play like night night and then a pachinko master
00:29:46 --> 00:29:51 for background because I don't know criminal underworld cheating it it seems
00:29:51 --> 00:29:54 a chance sounds like it works for that that layout yeah.
00:29:55 --> 00:30:00 I'm not sure how you cheated Pachinko. Like, is that having magnets in the,
00:30:01 --> 00:30:05 having magnetic rings and just putting your hand up next to the thing as the balls are dropping?
00:30:06 --> 00:30:09 It says, it says they say some people have all the luck in your case.
00:30:09 --> 00:30:11 That's certainly been true. Your superpower is dot, dot, dot.
00:30:12 --> 00:30:14 So just magically winning at Pachinko.
00:30:15 --> 00:30:19 What one thing I know that this, we use these rollups also as kind of for critique
00:30:19 --> 00:30:22 of the, the source material and all that.
00:30:22 --> 00:30:25 I mean, not source material, but the, uh, the source
00:30:25 --> 00:30:28 book yeah one could it
00:30:28 --> 00:30:31 have killed them to place each class on its
00:30:31 --> 00:30:34 own starting page first yeah i know yeah
00:30:34 --> 00:30:37 i have scanned through looking for that top of
00:30:37 --> 00:30:40 the next one every time for classes and it's terrible i
00:30:40 --> 00:30:43 know pretty bad and and would it have killed them
00:30:43 --> 00:30:47 to be a little less cutesy and given like a very dry
00:30:47 --> 00:30:49 description of what each of these things are before they jump been to
00:30:49 --> 00:30:53 transmit initiate the qatari frequency receive
00:30:53 --> 00:30:55 initiate the kahootin frequency seven million
00:30:55 --> 00:30:59 of the jinkos can't be wrong like come on give me a little bit here that is
00:30:59 --> 00:31:02 that's gaia's talking to you guys that that's
00:31:02 --> 00:31:05 how she talks she like well gaia is an edgelord yeah transmit
00:31:05 --> 00:31:08 initiate yeah like that
00:31:08 --> 00:31:12 kind of that's what you'll hear in the back of your head sometimes it's just like just
00:31:12 --> 00:31:15 this that kind of transmission through your head they go
00:31:15 --> 00:31:19 into some very good you know lore building world
00:31:19 --> 00:31:22 building thought processing even outside of the gaia transmission yeah
00:31:22 --> 00:31:25 but can you just tell me what pachinko master is without having to read about
00:31:25 --> 00:31:31 how seven million pachinkos can't be wrong and yeah yeah i i i get you man trust
00:31:31 --> 00:31:36 me we've we we had these conversations on what let's die when we were uh doing
00:31:36 --> 00:31:40 the the beta testing for this for this pdf so,
00:31:41 --> 00:31:42 All right.
00:31:44 --> 00:31:48 We probably... I guess the next thing is probably...
00:31:49 --> 00:31:52 Do you guys want to take a break so we can figure out the class stuff and then
00:31:52 --> 00:31:56 go into the background information and stuff like that? Yeah, that sounds great.
00:31:58 --> 00:32:03 So at this point, listeners, you will be listening to a transitional tune taking
00:32:03 --> 00:32:05 you away after we figure out the mathematics.
00:32:06 --> 00:32:09 The girl from Ipanema goes walking.
00:32:13 --> 00:32:18 This is fun, by the way, and I'm enjoying it. Okay. I am. This is really fun.
00:32:18 --> 00:32:23 I i love i love the setting i'm not 100 a fan of the system but i love the setting,
00:32:24 --> 00:32:29 well the setting just feels like d20 yeah sorry what was what was that uh darcy,
00:32:30 --> 00:32:35 i said i'm excited to serve our great goddess as
00:32:35 --> 00:32:38 i'm reading into the backgrounds of of
00:32:38 --> 00:32:41 cultists and and smith alumni's yeah
00:32:41 --> 00:32:44 that's the background information so because yeah like that's
00:32:44 --> 00:32:46 basically gives you that's sort of like the set dressing for your character
00:32:46 --> 00:32:50 and like it will give you some like proficiencies and such but basically it
00:32:50 --> 00:32:53 also gives you like kind of like where'd you come from like what uh like what
00:32:53 --> 00:32:56 what kind of expertise experience do you have in the secret world yeah yeah
00:32:56 --> 00:33:02 i i'm enjoying it yeah i want to actually pull up the gaia thing because in the in the,
00:33:03 --> 00:33:05 where did you come from where did you go.
00:33:11 --> 00:33:17 Where's the button where's that there is yeah like basically yeah the guy guy
00:33:17 --> 00:33:21 throughout history has been like uh interpreted as like different things it's
00:33:21 --> 00:33:25 it's most known in those secret world is or like through by bees as the immaculate
00:33:25 --> 00:33:28 machine or the world engine um.
00:33:29 --> 00:33:32 Visions of her like from people are like basically like um like
00:33:32 --> 00:33:35 like that mother teresa like figure or or like
00:33:35 --> 00:33:38 or mary like those visions that those kids had
00:33:38 --> 00:33:41 in spain yeah well i mean or like
00:33:41 --> 00:33:46 different type of fertility goddesses from from mythology that's generally like
00:33:46 --> 00:33:51 how she is interpreted throughout the history of of man yeah and there's a whole
00:33:51 --> 00:33:55 thing about like there's like we're currently on like in in an age but there
00:33:55 --> 00:33:59 were like previous like iterations or versions of our world.
00:33:59 --> 00:34:06 Before the our current age yeah that had like different things and i'll touch on that in games,
00:34:06 --> 00:34:09 yeah or you guys or you guys can read the the background information
00:34:09 --> 00:34:13 we're all we're all players and in gaia's
00:34:13 --> 00:34:16 great sims game honestly that's
00:34:16 --> 00:34:19 kind of how the world is it's like whenever whenever the world gets
00:34:19 --> 00:34:22 like whenever things go get like super bad with the dreaming ones gaia
00:34:22 --> 00:34:25 seems to just reset the board yeah she's
00:34:25 --> 00:34:29 like fuck this it's i'm getting a headache this didn't work my
00:34:29 --> 00:34:33 mod pack is not loading correctly right now yes i'm
00:34:33 --> 00:34:37 playing doing a guess i'm going to new game let's see
00:34:37 --> 00:34:39 what happened this last time we had like a bunch of crazy magic and
00:34:39 --> 00:34:42 steampunk architecture well that didn't work out let's move on
00:34:42 --> 00:34:46 to the next one i wasn't feeling that aesthetic anymore yeah she
00:34:46 --> 00:34:49 resets back into the dark ages yeah and and
00:34:49 --> 00:34:53 the interesting thing is uh bees from those
00:34:53 --> 00:34:58 other eras survived and translated to the next age so and and what they became
00:34:58 --> 00:35:02 was our gods or at least it's kind of like hinted at they became like known
00:35:02 --> 00:35:06 as they basically became legends like demigods like hercules and yeah lilith
00:35:06 --> 00:35:10 so i don't do 20 much that's fine.
00:35:13 --> 00:35:15 Let me know if you guys need any help with anything else in this.
00:35:16 --> 00:35:18 I'm just trying to figure out where to put my weapons.
00:35:19 --> 00:35:24 Weapons should be at the... They are on the second pay note.
00:35:25 --> 00:35:30 Because it's got attack spellcasting, resources featured, armor shield. Oh, yeah.
00:35:30 --> 00:35:35 Attacks and spellcasting is where you put your weapons. Oh, okay. Yeah.
00:35:35 --> 00:35:40 Because I get a whole shit ton of... I am a weapon. I am sword.
00:35:40 --> 00:35:43 You are a weapon. I am sword.
00:35:44 --> 00:35:47 I am Big Bad Katana Daddy. Yep.
00:35:47 --> 00:35:52 So I'm looking through my classes. I think I got my numbers.
00:35:52 --> 00:35:58 And I'll look at your glasses and figure out if I mess something up. But, hmm.
00:35:59 --> 00:36:03 Stereotypes, pitch. I do like the Venetians and the Council of Venice.
00:36:04 --> 00:36:06 So the Venetians and the Council of Venice are sort of like,
00:36:06 --> 00:36:11 so there's the big three, which is the Illuminati, the Templar, and the Dragon.
00:36:11 --> 00:36:16 And then below them are a bunch of other secret societies that aren't as as
00:36:16 --> 00:36:21 influential as the as the big three the council of venice are like a peacekeeper
00:36:21 --> 00:36:27 a peacekeeping neutral organization they're switzerland oh no it's that twilight
00:36:27 --> 00:36:30 trope again damn it is um yes the whole jury,
00:36:32 --> 00:36:38 no so like are these the fillers of a of a killer okay the council of venice
00:36:38 --> 00:36:43 are essentially a neutral party that peace keeps between the Templar,
00:36:43 --> 00:36:46 the Illuminati, and the dragon.
00:36:46 --> 00:36:52 The Phoenicians were originally an offshoot of the Templar who were like,
00:36:52 --> 00:36:54 morals? We don't need morals.
00:36:55 --> 00:37:03 You're not my real dad. And they left the Templar faction to become rich and influential.
00:37:04 --> 00:37:09 But they're horribly morally corrupt. They're basically the sort of like the
00:37:09 --> 00:37:11 The worst of the Templar.
00:37:12 --> 00:37:16 They do all kinds of wet work for whoever has the highest bidder.
00:37:18 --> 00:37:22 Look at your all character traits. As I was going through for the factions,
00:37:23 --> 00:37:27 it looks like I get an ability score increase for strength or intelligence. I'll take strength.
00:37:27 --> 00:37:30 So I'd take my 16 up to a 17.
00:37:30 --> 00:37:36 And then it looks like under history as a weapon, I can gain a proficiency.
00:37:36 --> 00:37:42 So I guess mark either history, investigation, or religion.
00:37:42 --> 00:37:44 Oh, you don't get all three? I thought you got all three.
00:37:45 --> 00:37:50 One of the following skills. yeah so i'm seeing there also you guys may want
00:37:50 --> 00:37:53 to have like uh like keep just keep those kind of as like temporary because
00:37:53 --> 00:37:58 sometimes your class or your your background will actually give you a proficiency
00:37:58 --> 00:38:01 in those so you may want to like kind of wiggle those around a bit.
00:38:02 --> 00:38:07 We had that we had that issue with like aaron had like aaron got arcane or arcana
00:38:07 --> 00:38:12 as a bee but then he also got arcana again for his for one of his backgrounds
00:38:12 --> 00:38:16 and so we kind of figured out that like you got double proficiency so it's just
00:38:16 --> 00:38:17 like added like a plus two or
00:38:17 --> 00:38:21 something like that rather than you get advantage and a plus two so okay,
00:38:22 --> 00:38:25 how do we know what's the difference between a one-handed weapon and a two-handed
00:38:25 --> 00:38:29 weapon in this game because I'm not seeing any well Jeremy any zoo could be
00:38:29 --> 00:38:32 a petting zoo if you're not going to be a little you know what about it that's
00:38:32 --> 00:38:36 right that's right one-handed weapon and two-handed weapon because it says like I get one simple,
00:38:37 --> 00:38:41 martial melee weapon and then it said oh I get a two-handed martial melee weapon,
00:38:42 --> 00:38:45 this sounds like something would be good for recording too yeah that's also
00:38:45 --> 00:38:53 i think in gear yeah so i'm trying to find the punisher just so i can read that
00:38:53 --> 00:39:00 oh so what is it is you you start the following two oh so a two-handed simple or martial weapon,
00:39:02 --> 00:39:05 That is interesting because I don't think they really, they don't really specify
00:39:05 --> 00:39:09 that in the gear as like two handed or one handed. I think it's just sort of like.
00:39:10 --> 00:39:13 Yeah, that's what I was wondering. That's, that's a good question.
00:39:15 --> 00:39:18 Cause I was like, cool. How do I know? Yeah.
00:39:19 --> 00:39:23 Like I'm, I'm going to assume that like a bayonet is a, is a one handed martial
00:39:23 --> 00:39:28 weapon, a rapier and a whip are probably one handed, but like a long sword or
00:39:28 --> 00:39:29 a katana is probably two handed.
00:39:31 --> 00:39:35 There's a reason why long swords are long swords and then they're bastard swords
00:39:35 --> 00:39:39 that are hand in half and then two swords two hidden swords so long sword really
00:39:39 --> 00:39:43 be one yeah and like similarly like a chainsaw for simple melee weapons like
00:39:43 --> 00:39:44 a chainsaw would probably be two-handed,
00:39:46 --> 00:39:51 try to use a chainsaw one-handed a club or a club could be either or a hand
00:39:51 --> 00:39:57 axe is probably one a quarter stout make a chain sword like make the straight up simpler,
00:39:59 --> 00:40:02 it's like the warhammer 40k that's right come brothers
00:40:02 --> 00:40:05 against sledge yeah like it's it's sort of i think left
00:40:05 --> 00:40:07 is like oh like just look at like we'll like look at
00:40:07 --> 00:40:10 what the options are on the gear and like you can make a judgment call as to
00:40:10 --> 00:40:14 which one is like a two-handed or one-handed weapon that's what i figured but
00:40:14 --> 00:40:18 i just i didn't know if there was a distinction that you knew no yeah i don't
00:40:18 --> 00:40:21 think there's some things that are like really specified in this in this in
00:40:21 --> 00:40:25 this version of the game and then there are some that are just like gm's discretion.
00:40:27 --> 00:40:34 It's like thanks thanks guys one more for the grape yeah it's the same thing
00:40:34 --> 00:40:38 like there's there's like you have a skill for like piloting ground craft or
00:40:38 --> 00:40:43 watercraft or aircraft there's no vehicle rules it's it's it's assumed that
00:40:43 --> 00:40:46 you're just going to use vehicles for like travel and not use them in combat.
00:40:47 --> 00:40:52 My crew did not... My crew was like, we want vehicle combat.
00:40:53 --> 00:40:57 My guess is it's probably some supplement that's coming out in the future.
00:40:57 --> 00:41:00 That's... Yeah, if they do have a whole...
00:41:02 --> 00:41:06 They have a whole like sort of a road roadmap of what they want to do in the future.
00:41:06 --> 00:41:11 So yeah, I'm sure it'll end up in like an errata book or something or some kind of extra supplement.
00:41:13 --> 00:41:17 Would a Marshall melee weapon be a baseball bat with nails driven?
00:41:17 --> 00:41:19 That would be a simple, that would be a simple weapon. I would.
00:41:19 --> 00:41:23 Okay. I just need to, I guess there's a weapon section I can look through. Yeah.
00:41:23 --> 00:41:28 The weapon sections on 208 or at least the tables are there. So.
00:41:28 --> 00:41:31 Okay. Crazy question, but i'm looking at secret
00:41:31 --> 00:41:34 archetypes am i ahead of where we
00:41:34 --> 00:41:38 yes you are ahead you are ahead okay yeah i
00:41:38 --> 00:41:42 have a thought on it yeah um at
00:41:42 --> 00:41:45 risk of sounding i i like the idea of
00:41:45 --> 00:41:49 the i have no idea what i am doing why am
00:41:49 --> 00:41:52 i here and all of
00:41:52 --> 00:41:55 the things even if it is something that is.
00:41:55 --> 00:41:58 Tied to you know like the one
00:41:58 --> 00:42:00 that i was looking at is gun food like i've never picked
00:42:00 --> 00:42:04 up a gun before and then suddenly starts twirling the gun like where
00:42:04 --> 00:42:07 is this coming from you're just doing like you're
00:42:07 --> 00:42:10 doing like the crazy gun food from like equilibrium and but like your
00:42:10 --> 00:42:15 face is just like i don't know what i'm doing yeah what
00:42:15 --> 00:42:19 are my arms doing and i feel
00:42:19 --> 00:42:22 like all of the like all of
00:42:22 --> 00:42:25 the stuff that i pick up is going to be like that just no you
00:42:25 --> 00:42:28 don't understand you must become the wombat what is
00:42:28 --> 00:42:32 even the wombat mortal wombat if
00:42:32 --> 00:42:35 you ever watch surf ninjas oh my god where
00:42:35 --> 00:42:38 he starts getting the power and he starts beating the shit out of people he's
00:42:38 --> 00:42:42 like i'm sorry i don't know what happened yeah it's
00:42:42 --> 00:42:47 just like a spidey sense but like with guns i'm thinking
00:42:47 --> 00:42:50 about doubling down and taking both that one and
00:42:50 --> 00:42:57 what what is it there's uh that and then there's the secret of the spirit blade
00:42:57 --> 00:43:05 so it's guns and knives and just yeah i why am i like this yeah i do like your
00:43:05 --> 00:43:09 character just like accidental assassin yeah,
00:43:09 --> 00:43:15 Or just, oops, assassin. Oopsie. You know what? We're committing to it now.
00:43:15 --> 00:43:19 Sometimes that's how I feel with ADHD opening the fridge.
00:43:20 --> 00:43:26 Just random bursts of raw strength. Like, ha, where did this come from? Yeah.
00:43:27 --> 00:43:33 I just wanted a soda. I'm sorry, I broke it. David's character is actually the guy in Candidate.
00:43:36 --> 00:43:41 Are you are you wanting us to keep track of like bullets and stuff i don't care
00:43:41 --> 00:43:45 okay personally i don't care if you want to do that that's
00:43:45 --> 00:43:50 fine with you guys like yeah that's that's my response with when with air with
00:43:50 --> 00:43:55 one less dies like they they like to keep like count bullets i will don't if
00:43:55 --> 00:44:01 it's a special bullet of some sort maybe yeah but like if it's a special silver bullet that like for
00:44:01 --> 00:44:05 hunting down the werewolf criminal yeah but it's
00:44:05 --> 00:44:08 a bladed cletus i mean cestus the wolverine
00:44:08 --> 00:44:11 clouds i believe that was that's what they are yeah yes
00:44:11 --> 00:44:15 so uh cestus is in simple
00:44:15 --> 00:44:19 terms a cestus was a roman
00:44:19 --> 00:44:22 gauntlet that was used specifically for punching and a
00:44:22 --> 00:44:25 bladed cestus would be a gauntlet with blades
00:44:25 --> 00:44:28 on it so that's also known as a
00:44:28 --> 00:44:31 wolverine also known as a set of claw bracers also known
00:44:31 --> 00:44:34 as a set of shuko also known as
00:44:34 --> 00:44:37 a bog knock yeah okay uh we're
00:44:37 --> 00:44:41 gonna just realized like they call in the buzz saws between dresden
00:44:41 --> 00:44:44 and this game adam just is is like a
00:44:44 --> 00:44:46 brawler oh yeah he's a
00:44:46 --> 00:44:53 magic brawler okay this is lovely apparently because of secrets of gunfu i have
00:44:53 --> 00:44:59 access to the magic missile spell yep this is what pissed off Aaron for in our
00:44:59 --> 00:45:03 sequel campaign and I had to homebrew to make him happy the magus which is the
00:45:03 --> 00:45:04 equivalent of a wizard in the setting.
00:45:05 --> 00:45:11 Doesn't have Fireball or Scorching Ray. And he was so pissed about it because
00:45:11 --> 00:45:15 everyone else's class ended up with some kind of Fireball spell.
00:45:16 --> 00:45:17 But the Magus doesn't.
00:45:19 --> 00:45:22 I thought I saw a secret one in here.
00:45:23 --> 00:45:27 There was, yeah. There is, like, Elementalist?
00:45:27 --> 00:45:33 Yeah, there is a secret archetype that gives it to him, but he was so enamored with the one...
00:45:33 --> 00:45:35 He decided... the game this game gives you like
00:45:35 --> 00:45:39 tons of options for secrets uh secret archetypes especially
00:45:39 --> 00:45:42 as you go you can collect you can collect more than a
00:45:42 --> 00:45:44 couple that you can swap out or you can just
00:45:44 --> 00:45:47 stick with the same one if it works for you and that's kind of what was
00:45:47 --> 00:45:50 aaron's like mentality in our campaign was he was just sticking with the
00:45:50 --> 00:45:53 one secret archetype the entire time because he loved it so much but
00:45:53 --> 00:45:57 he couldn't get a fireball you've got
00:45:57 --> 00:46:00 access to three or i mean you've got access to two
00:46:00 --> 00:46:03 to start yeah i know i know whatever
00:46:03 --> 00:46:06 your proficiency bonus is and then as you level
00:46:06 --> 00:46:10 up you pick up more of them i know yep you want
00:46:10 --> 00:46:13 us to go ahead and roll the d12 whatever kind
00:46:13 --> 00:46:16 of stats for or i mean i don't
00:46:16 --> 00:46:19 i don't see much it'd be exciting if we did it on camera so
00:46:19 --> 00:46:22 to speak so the the background stuff we'll hit that oh
00:46:22 --> 00:46:25 yeah yeah the hit dice stuff yeah like all that actually that's
00:46:25 --> 00:46:28 what you guys are doing sorry yeah no that's fine i was just making
00:46:28 --> 00:46:31 sure i'm on the right page yeah i'm gonna
00:46:31 --> 00:46:34 find a d12 weapons i thought that with
00:46:34 --> 00:46:41 most d20 you get your starting levels die as a max so mine is an eight-sided
00:46:41 --> 00:46:46 so that means i start with eight and it plus your con uh yeah plus your plus
00:46:46 --> 00:46:51 your con modifier yeah adam don't worry about rolling for that like yeah you
00:46:51 --> 00:46:54 guys are all starting at first level you guys all max out your the.
00:46:55 --> 00:46:59 The die roll for that. I got you. Yeah. I'm excited that I get a shotgun.
00:47:02 --> 00:47:09 I've got Adam with a shotgun. I've got a Cletus, that I'm going to call it.
00:47:10 --> 00:47:13 Cletus. I love your Sestis is Cletus.
00:47:15 --> 00:47:18 And then I took leather armor and like any good redneck bow hunt.
00:47:19 --> 00:47:22 So I've got a compound bow. I almost took a compound bow.
00:47:22 --> 00:47:27 And then I took two hand axes and two throwing knives and then a shotgun.
00:47:28 --> 00:47:34 Nice. So this is hitting some buttons for me here. I'm glad.
00:47:35 --> 00:47:40 What is a blade of sustenance? The blade of sustenance is the Wolverine Claws. Yeah. Cletus.
00:47:40 --> 00:47:44 Oh, you missed that. Yeah. I wasn't paying attention when you said,
00:47:44 --> 00:47:47 I didn't hear the name at first, but I know what you're talking about now.
00:47:48 --> 00:47:52 All right. So my hit point, my con modifier is two, so I started out with 14.
00:47:53 --> 00:47:59 Yeah, actually, the image, I do say iconic Ravager image actually has one,
00:47:59 --> 00:48:02 has the character with them on it on 149.
00:48:02 --> 00:48:05 It is a martial melee weapon.
00:48:05 --> 00:48:08 Yes. That's where his hit dots go in, this motherfucker. I mean,
00:48:08 --> 00:48:10 like we said, you're not saying those words anymore.
00:48:11 --> 00:48:15 Here it does. Where does equipment go?
00:48:16 --> 00:48:22 Equipment goes, I think, on the second page. There is an inventory on the bottom. Okay.
00:48:23 --> 00:48:27 This character sheet's weird. It says hit dice, and you type in one,
00:48:27 --> 00:48:29 and in sides, I guess you put 12.
00:48:30 --> 00:48:36 Yeah, like, where's the HP there? Yeah. Oh, that is weird. Unless I'm misreading
00:48:36 --> 00:48:38 it. No, that makes sense. That's weird.
00:48:38 --> 00:48:42 What's that? What happened? What? Alright, so if you look beneath where the
00:48:42 --> 00:48:44 name is, center in that gray box.
00:48:44 --> 00:48:48 I was just wanting to put my hit dice. So you see hit dice.
00:48:48 --> 00:48:54 Sides, one. Or hit dice, I get one. Sides, 12. And in total,
00:48:54 --> 00:48:56 I don't even know where it gets. So I get to spend stuff.
00:48:57 --> 00:49:04 Where's that? I see what you mean. Yeah, that is weird. That is different.
00:49:05 --> 00:49:08 I guess in my armor class. How do you figure out armor class?
00:49:09 --> 00:49:10 Is that just what armor I have?
00:49:11 --> 00:49:14 Usually with a dexterity modifier. okay unless
00:49:14 --> 00:49:18 otherwise stated okay so one okay
00:49:18 --> 00:49:21 actually that that hit dice thing might not be for
00:49:21 --> 00:49:26 hp that might be for your anima dice which is something that you guys should
00:49:26 --> 00:49:32 probably know about bees my bad well that's not i forgot about it yeah god okay
00:49:32 --> 00:49:37 so so directly to the we've got armor class initiative speed we got that box
00:49:37 --> 00:49:41 and then to the right of that there's anima die type Yeah,
00:49:41 --> 00:49:44 because anima dietypes change over time.
00:49:45 --> 00:49:48 I think it said in the thing that we start with a D4. Yeah, you start with a
00:49:48 --> 00:49:53 D4 at level 1, and then I think it's like every 3 levels it increases. Yeah, every 3rd.
00:49:54 --> 00:50:00 It increases to D6 on 3rd level, and then D8 at 6th level, a D10 at 10th level,
00:50:01 --> 00:50:02 and then a D12 at 14th level.
00:50:03 --> 00:50:07 And you get as many Anima dice as you have in proficiency bonus.
00:50:08 --> 00:50:14 So whatever your class's proficiency bonus is... I think it's going to be 2 for most of us.
00:50:14 --> 00:50:19 Yeah, it would be 2. So you guys all, and then your secret archetype actually gives you an extra two.
00:50:19 --> 00:50:23 So you, you all, you always kind of have a, have two, you always kind of have
00:50:23 --> 00:50:27 like four because there's two from your class and then there's two from your
00:50:27 --> 00:50:28 secrets, a secret archetype.
00:50:28 --> 00:50:31 So this is turning out to be a little bit more complicated than I, that I remembered.
00:50:33 --> 00:50:37 Oh, and we also got what Fibo is doing it. That's, that's true.
00:50:37 --> 00:50:40 Yeah. Yeah. I got lost, but that's fine. Sorry.
00:50:43 --> 00:50:47 I'm just looking at some of the things. It's like my equipment list is kind
00:50:47 --> 00:50:51 of all over the place, but I love that the last section of it is just even.
00:50:52 --> 00:50:56 So a backpack, 20 caltrops, 50 feet of nylon rope, thieves tools,
00:50:56 --> 00:51:02 and a memento from a particular kill kept out of either pride or guilt.
00:51:02 --> 00:51:04 Jimmy Hoffa's hand.
00:51:06 --> 00:51:13 He was a zombie. Yeah. I was thinking wedding ring. Oh, fingers still attached. Oh God.
00:51:14 --> 00:51:16 George Washington's wooden teeth.
00:51:18 --> 00:51:22 Technically, they weren't all wooden. Some of them were pilfered from slaves. Oh, God. That's right.
00:51:24 --> 00:51:26 Ah, history. Ah, history.
00:51:27 --> 00:51:32 Some of them he scrimshot out of whalebone some of them he just stole from yeah
00:51:32 --> 00:51:36 he was the original two fairy oh god,
00:51:37 --> 00:51:42 awful nice set of incisors you got there what was that adam where does anima go,
00:51:43 --> 00:51:47 anima goes next to the so on the character sheet it goes next to the so below
00:51:47 --> 00:51:51 destiny and all that stuff there's an anima die type and then a max anima and
00:51:51 --> 00:51:54 then anima spent because it's sort of a refreshing resource,
00:51:56 --> 00:51:59 okay anima is kind of is our dice that
00:51:59 --> 00:52:02 you can spend on various abilities
00:52:02 --> 00:52:06 that you get like especially in your secret archetype and such kind of i kind
00:52:06 --> 00:52:09 of like the idea of us traveling together and my guy carrying a whip so he can
00:52:09 --> 00:52:15 grapple people so you can go beat the shit out of them yeah yeah whip crack
00:52:15 --> 00:52:22 with a spiky tail get over here that's the whip then as you said whip crack with his,
00:52:23 --> 00:52:25 spiky tail. Yeah. Oh!
00:52:28 --> 00:52:32 All right, so I've got that. So I've kind of got some stuff.
00:52:32 --> 00:52:34 Vision, I'm just leaving blank.
00:52:34 --> 00:52:37 And all that fun stuff, that doesn't look like it matters.
00:52:38 --> 00:52:40 You said secret archetypes?
00:52:41 --> 00:52:43 Okay. Yeah, that's another, that's basically after the class stuff.
00:52:44 --> 00:52:46 Like, after you guys select a class, then we go into archetypes.
00:52:46 --> 00:52:49 So I've got fleet, anima features.
00:52:49 --> 00:52:55 I have access to all of these or what what you have sorry i'm a ravager so i'm
00:52:55 --> 00:53:02 148 148 so yeah for anima features your connection with gaia allows you to harness
00:53:02 --> 00:53:05 then channel anima uh you gain
00:53:05 --> 00:53:09 your choice of two anima features at first level so you have two of those,
00:53:10 --> 00:53:15 And then you can increase that, or then every, you can choose another one at
00:53:15 --> 00:53:16 7th level and then at 13th level.
00:53:17 --> 00:53:20 All right, guys. Fury and Intimidating Presence. Sounds good.
00:53:21 --> 00:53:26 And I put that somewhere, probably on the next page. Yeah, it's probably under
00:53:26 --> 00:53:28 Anima Features on the...
00:53:28 --> 00:53:33 Three pages? What? It's not, is it? Oh my god, it is? Oh my god.
00:53:33 --> 00:53:36 Right. Four. Yeah, it's... Fuck. Me.
00:53:37 --> 00:53:40 Oh, fuck, bud. Fucking A. I'm sorry, guys.
00:53:41 --> 00:53:50 I love you I'm adding a d20 to the Chris stoning pile I did offer to do the Savage Worlds version.
00:53:53 --> 00:53:57 We'll do the Savage Worlds one just to show you guys what the difference is
00:53:57 --> 00:53:59 between these it's going to be like night and day,
00:54:01 --> 00:54:08 I have to say it has taken us so long to understand exploding dice but part
00:54:08 --> 00:54:13 of that is the fact that it takes us like, you know, we only played every two weeks.
00:54:14 --> 00:54:20 But basically the way that all of the roles work in Savage Worlds is you get
00:54:20 --> 00:54:23 a d6 plus whatever your die is in the skill.
00:54:24 --> 00:54:27 And so it goes from d4, d6, d8, all the way up to a d12.
00:54:28 --> 00:54:33 Limited by the stat, of course. It's easier to raise it if it is not higher than the stat.
00:54:35 --> 00:54:37 Like, for instance, with Persuade.
00:54:38 --> 00:54:42 Like roll a D6 and whatever your Persuade is. So my Persuade was a D8.
00:54:42 --> 00:54:45 So you roll two dice for literally every roll.
00:54:45 --> 00:54:50 And if you roll the max on the die, you roll it again and add it to the first
00:54:50 --> 00:54:52 one. You do not add the two dice together.
00:54:53 --> 00:54:58 Do you all realize that there's side things that you can auto-click on this PDF?
00:54:58 --> 00:55:01 So I was all of a sudden in the Dragon for some reason.
00:55:02 --> 00:55:06 So if you click on the little bookmark icon, you can select your faction there,
00:55:06 --> 00:55:09 And then you could go down and select your class.
00:55:10 --> 00:55:12 A little bookmark icon. Where's that?
00:55:13 --> 00:55:18 To the, well, I have, I'm using Adobe. So on the left where you have like the
00:55:18 --> 00:55:23 bookmark pages, click that. And then, or you can kind of go between the bookmarks. Oh, motherfucker.
00:55:24 --> 00:55:27 I somehow managed to turn off bookmarks. I have not been able to turn them back
00:55:27 --> 00:55:30 on yet. Yeah. I must be in the same boat. Oh, they, yeah.
00:55:31 --> 00:55:34 That's interesting. They actually like, ah, there it is.
00:55:34 --> 00:55:41 They changed the color theme and the the theme of logo of the logo and so that and also like,
00:55:41 --> 00:55:44 interesting oh neat yeah also darcy
00:55:44 --> 00:55:47 are you okay you haven't really responded no i'm
00:55:47 --> 00:55:54 good i had it i i'm so deep sorry i'm so deep i'm just i've just been scrolling
00:55:54 --> 00:56:01 through i i've been debating between the illuminati and and i the i want to
00:56:01 --> 00:56:05 say dagon but they're dragons right yeah yeah Well,
00:56:05 --> 00:56:08 we got, you know, Templars and one dragon,
00:56:09 --> 00:56:13 so two dragons wouldn't be bad, or representing the third faction with Illuminati is cool, too.
00:56:15 --> 00:56:18 But yes, to answer, I'm good. Okay. I've been reading.
00:56:19 --> 00:56:26 Okay. And I was hunting for... It would be fun if we did basically the same
00:56:26 --> 00:56:30 exact thing with the intent to make these same exact carries with the Savage World version.
00:56:30 --> 00:56:33 As a second as a second roll up content for
00:56:33 --> 00:56:36 the content god that's right that's what i was thinking honestly yeah
00:56:36 --> 00:56:39 but yeah i i agree brownie because like that is
00:56:39 --> 00:56:42 one thing i wanted to do i wanted to i wanted to
00:56:42 --> 00:56:46 run the 5e one in for one less die and then run savage worlds in for rpx just
00:56:46 --> 00:56:53 to see the contrasting differences between the systems i i picked my secret
00:56:53 --> 00:57:00 my secret type just for one very specific reason okay so the cantrip is shock and grasp right yeah,
00:57:00 --> 00:57:05 I use it to start my car I as soon as you said that I was like oh yeah there's
00:57:05 --> 00:57:09 the there's there's a pun coming yeah there isn't actually a key on to start
00:57:09 --> 00:57:12 position there's just a handle I grab underneath the dash and you shock and
00:57:12 --> 00:57:15 grasp and it is a starter yeah yeah,
00:57:16 --> 00:57:19 That's awesome. Only I can drive my car, then. I like it, yeah.
00:57:20 --> 00:57:24 I love it. It's dumb, but I'm dumb. No, it's... Oh, I like it.
00:57:25 --> 00:57:29 I get spells regardless of the fact that... Yeah, everybody gets spells.
00:57:29 --> 00:57:33 Everybody gets magic in this game. You get a spell. Yeah. Then you get a spell.
00:57:34 --> 00:57:37 I get two secret archetypes. That's pretty fun. Yeah.
00:57:37 --> 00:57:42 So, the thing about secret archetypes, it can be as complicated or as simple as you want.
00:57:42 --> 00:57:45 You don't have to like have
00:57:45 --> 00:57:49 like even though it gives you like slots for for two
00:57:49 --> 00:57:52 and then like as you get on it goes like i think it goes up to like six slots
00:57:52 --> 00:57:55 you don't have to fill those slots you can just have like
00:57:55 --> 00:57:58 once you like have like one or two secret archetypes that you're
00:57:58 --> 00:58:01 comfortable with you can just play with those through an entire
00:58:01 --> 00:58:03 campaign and if you're feeling like you want to change it
00:58:03 --> 00:58:06 up and like try something else you can look into like one other secret archetype and
00:58:06 --> 00:58:10 you'll have a slot for that one to swap out that was something that was coming
00:58:10 --> 00:58:16 up in our campaign was dave was getting really like stressed out by the amount
00:58:16 --> 00:58:20 of choices he had and we and Aaron had to keep like telling him it's like dude
00:58:20 --> 00:58:24 you don't have to like deep dive into the secret archetypes,
00:58:25 --> 00:58:27 like you don't have to you don't have to worry about all of them you can just
00:58:27 --> 00:58:30 choose like look look at a couple that look that peak your fantasy,
00:58:31 --> 00:58:34 and just focus on those you don't have to go super deep into like all of them.
00:58:35 --> 00:58:38 But yeah I think I do think we're
00:58:38 --> 00:58:42 ready to go back I believe so we're you
00:58:42 --> 00:58:45 guys have you guys how are you guys doing on your class and stuff like i'm
00:58:45 --> 00:58:49 still picking features but i feel like we've been back a lot of this stuff is
00:58:49 --> 00:58:52 good recording potter yeah sorry adam you may have to like look through this
00:58:52 --> 00:59:02 this a bit that's fine that's fine i'll just i'll just transfer it to you what no fuck me.
00:59:08 --> 00:59:22 Music.
00:59:22 --> 00:59:26 So, yeah, it seems like I've got about everything. I know we've been talking
00:59:26 --> 00:59:30 about selecting secret archetypes here with our characters.
00:59:30 --> 00:59:33 So everybody gets spells, as you mentioned.
00:59:34 --> 00:59:40 So it looks pretty cool. I have no idea what I'm picking, but I like the idea of having magic.
00:59:40 --> 00:59:43 Anybody else have their stuff picked up besides for Brownie?
00:59:44 --> 00:59:45 With his Kickstart My Heart?
00:59:47 --> 00:59:52 Oh, I've got mine. Yeah. So I'm not sure if you were here for it,
00:59:52 --> 00:59:56 but I basically said what I want my secret archetypes to be are things that
00:59:56 --> 00:59:59 I've picked up and I have no idea where they even come from.
00:59:59 --> 01:00:02 And so I'm kind of scared by my secret archetypes.
01:00:03 --> 01:00:08 Specifically, the two that I've got are the secret of the spirit blade,
01:00:08 --> 01:00:11 which means that I know how to use all knives and swords really well.
01:00:11 --> 01:00:14 And the secret of gun fu which gives me
01:00:14 --> 01:00:17 the ability to use all light firearms and a pair of
01:00:17 --> 01:00:23 revolvers that i just spontaneously have yeah and
01:00:23 --> 01:00:26 i should probably preface it so yeah secret archetypes they're this
01:00:26 --> 01:00:29 they're how the the studio decided to
01:00:29 --> 01:00:32 handle multi multi-classing in this
01:00:32 --> 01:00:35 game so you you start with a base character class and
01:00:35 --> 01:00:38 then secret archetypes are a
01:00:38 --> 01:00:41 way of specializing into that like with that class
01:00:41 --> 01:00:48 but through like different different paths of of power and such that so for
01:00:48 --> 01:00:56 instance like the secret of the aegis is sort of a basically like a shield kind
01:00:56 --> 01:01:00 of focused thing or it's about like kind of protection and blood and like healing and stuff like that.
01:01:01 --> 01:01:05 Secret of the doppelganger is similar
01:01:05 --> 01:01:08 you you can basically conjure up an extra dimensional copy
01:01:08 --> 01:01:11 of yourself so it provides like
01:01:11 --> 01:01:15 some specialized like spell casting and magic on top
01:01:15 --> 01:01:18 of your whatever your your class gives you and like
01:01:18 --> 01:01:21 david said yeah like gun like you're a secret archetype of
01:01:21 --> 01:01:24 gun fu so you're you're
01:01:24 --> 01:01:27 specialized like a like a mercenary or or any kind of character
01:01:27 --> 01:01:30 that has guns or like an assassin who specializes
01:01:30 --> 01:01:33 specifically in like in in in in
01:01:33 --> 01:01:36 gun like some crazy john wick stuff yeah
01:01:36 --> 01:01:39 exactly the one that in our in
01:01:39 --> 01:01:43 our almost dies group uh erin stuck
01:01:43 --> 01:01:46 with feral vigor or no either feral
01:01:46 --> 01:01:50 vigor or wild shape i think uh yeah
01:01:50 --> 01:01:53 the secret of wild nature which basically allows you to
01:01:53 --> 01:01:57 shape shift into different animals and such and he
01:01:57 --> 01:02:01 just kind of stuck with that so i
01:02:01 --> 01:02:07 just need to look at the cantrips kind of figure that out yeah and it should
01:02:07 --> 01:02:10 also be known that a lot of these like secret archetypes in terms of like again
01:02:10 --> 01:02:14 they really just kind of like they a lot of these archetypes were inspired from
01:02:14 --> 01:02:18 like various like multi-classing options that were in the actual and like skill
01:02:18 --> 01:02:19 trees that were in the actual mmo.
01:02:21 --> 01:02:26 And then they also modified a few things for the system they were working with.
01:02:26 --> 01:02:31 And we all got quiet. Yeah, I think we're all reading. Oh, yeah,
01:02:31 --> 01:02:32 there's a lot to read in there.
01:02:34 --> 01:02:39 So I'm just going to fill in a little bit of empty space here and talk about
01:02:39 --> 01:02:42 some of the fun things that come with it.
01:02:44 --> 01:02:50 So under the Assassin, funnily enough, I do get access to some spellcasting anyway.
01:02:51 --> 01:02:55 I have learned how to channel anima for the fabric of things.
01:02:55 --> 01:02:59 At first level, I know three cantrips of my choice from the assassin list,
01:02:59 --> 01:03:03 and I can learn additional assassin cantrips of my choice at higher levels.
01:03:03 --> 01:03:09 So my assassin cantrips are Chill Touch, Color Spray, Mage Hand,
01:03:09 --> 01:03:11 Minor Illusion, and True Strike.
01:03:12 --> 01:03:14 So that's my list of five.
01:03:16 --> 01:03:20 Almost none of those can be used for combat.
01:03:20 --> 01:03:23 Like chill touch can do a little bit of damage
01:03:23 --> 01:03:26 not much but a little bit color spray
01:03:26 --> 01:03:30 can dazzle may chant can move things minor illusion i
01:03:30 --> 01:03:33 can make something small true strike can
01:03:33 --> 01:03:36 be used to basically make my next attack whatever
01:03:36 --> 01:03:39 it is hit yeah because basically
01:03:39 --> 01:03:42 what true strike does is it gives you a nat 20
01:03:42 --> 01:03:47 on the next spell you use right from the
01:03:47 --> 01:03:53 from the the two archetypes that i picked up secret of the spirit blade gives
01:03:53 --> 01:03:58 me message and true strike so i've also got true strike from that so i guess
01:03:58 --> 01:04:06 i'm learning true strike yeah and then from secrets of gun fu i get Eldritch Blast and True Strike.
01:04:06 --> 01:04:11 So I'm guessing I am really, really good at True Strike. Yeah.
01:04:12 --> 01:04:19 Oh, and here's the best part on that. One of the archetype features is that
01:04:19 --> 01:04:26 I can channel a spell through a gun in my hand, provided that it's a light firearm.
01:04:26 --> 01:04:32 So that Eldritch Blast, instead of coming from fingertip, is always going to be pointing a gun.
01:04:32 --> 01:04:37 So you never know did i actually fire a bullet or did i actually fire a bullet
01:04:37 --> 01:04:41 or did i fire an eldritch blast we just don't know because my eldritch blasts
01:04:41 --> 01:04:42 are gonna look like bullets,
01:04:43 --> 01:04:50 oh god i just realized the magic bullet i cast a gun i cast fist yes yeah well
01:04:50 --> 01:04:56 and again like in the game so there's a thing for this so in in the mmo it's
01:04:56 --> 01:04:57 kind of assumed that you're actually,
01:04:58 --> 01:05:01 through your gun, you're using anima, like you're shooting magic through your gun.
01:05:02 --> 01:05:07 And so our healer in that game, Dave from One Less Die, he was a healer,
01:05:07 --> 01:05:08 but he was also a mercenary.
01:05:09 --> 01:05:12 So he would just like, oh, don't worry, I'll heal you. Bang.
01:05:12 --> 01:05:15 Pop, pop. And he's like, I'm shooting you with healing bullets.
01:05:17 --> 01:05:20 And that's kind of like, because like, I think one of the things,
01:05:21 --> 01:05:26 part of your class is you get a medium to like your spellcasting focus.
01:05:26 --> 01:05:29 And for the mercenary, it's a gun.
01:05:31 --> 01:05:34 That's like the old trope of the necromancer that can definitely kill you
01:05:34 --> 01:05:37 but they have to kill you first yeah or that really
01:05:37 --> 01:05:40 bad doctors or that wizard with a shotgun
01:05:40 --> 01:05:43 it's like i may have run out of spell slots but i did not run out
01:05:43 --> 01:05:47 of shots so what you're saying is that the wizard has the secret of dragon fire
01:05:47 --> 01:05:52 there is an archetype that is yeah firearms with a scatter property so wizard
01:05:52 --> 01:05:58 casts shotgun yeah that's how you get aoe healing yeah but no necromancers are
01:05:58 --> 01:06:01 just very devoted healthcare professionals. That's all. Yeah.
01:06:02 --> 01:06:09 I think I got my, I took a Hunter's Mark, which gives me a plus on attacks for a turn.
01:06:10 --> 01:06:15 And then I think guiding boat seems pretty good. That's your secret archetype or? Yep.
01:06:16 --> 01:06:20 Jeremy, how are you holding up? That's a lot of information. I'm reading. It is a lot.
01:06:21 --> 01:06:25 Well, you guys can't, I guess you guys can probably tell on the PDF,
01:06:25 --> 01:06:29 but Adam has like, Adam and I have concrete information. this book is almost
01:06:29 --> 01:06:33 as thick as a uh as as red markets milk yeah he's a thicker yeah,
01:06:35 --> 01:06:40 that is true mine is thicker because your copy is missing a few pages because of a shipping.
01:06:45 --> 01:06:49 That's all good i won't hold that again well thank you sir so we get i do like
01:06:49 --> 01:06:54 to charge at the end of each class here too so it it's been very handy to me
01:06:54 --> 01:06:56 i know i get two rages i get plus two for raise damage.
01:06:57 --> 01:06:59 Do I get two cantrips on top of the anime?
01:07:01 --> 01:07:05 On top of what? The anime? I know I'm miscarrying it, but...
01:07:06 --> 01:07:12 I'm just looking, it said cantrips, you know, two first level cantrips.
01:07:12 --> 01:07:17 So on top of picking guiding boat and all that, I get to pick the cantrips, which is cool.
01:07:17 --> 01:07:19 So I get, you know.
01:07:21 --> 01:07:25 Kind of tip my toe into some magic here. So that's cool. Yeah.
01:07:26 --> 01:07:30 Yeah, I think for secret archetypes, I think generally, yeah.
01:07:30 --> 01:07:36 Oh, okay. Here's the kicker. yeah also for secret archetypes starting at third
01:07:36 --> 01:07:38 level you gain two additional anima dice,
01:07:39 --> 01:07:42 that's so you you actually don't have anima dice at the start because you guys
01:07:42 --> 01:07:48 are still only level one okay my bad so we we have none okay yeah you just well
01:07:48 --> 01:07:51 you just have the the two anima dice you get from being a b oh okay no it's
01:07:51 --> 01:07:55 cool well it's still something yeah i should probably,
01:07:57 --> 01:08:04 So I just reading Eldritch Blast has got a verbal and a somatic component to
01:08:04 --> 01:08:08 it, which means that you've got to use a magic word and you've got to use a magic gesture.
01:08:09 --> 01:08:20 But I just love the idea of the gesture has to be pointing at the thing and the word is bang.
01:08:21 --> 01:08:25 Yeah, it's this is just fun.
01:08:25 --> 01:08:29 This is way too much fun oh yeah totally i i mean i do enjoy this like when
01:08:29 --> 01:08:35 i looked at four pages of character sheet i was like oh my god but like it's
01:08:35 --> 01:08:38 one of these things that once i feel it out and i when i did uh mass effect
01:08:38 --> 01:08:43 d20 with craze on here we i got to the point that i enjoyed,
01:08:44 --> 01:08:48 the features that are going through this stuff it's just setting it up it's
01:08:48 --> 01:08:54 very kind of front loaded as to what i typically play but background and personalities
01:08:54 --> 01:08:58 are you guys pretty Do you think you're kind of good for that right now?
01:08:59 --> 01:09:02 Family. I mean, yes, yes, I'm great.
01:09:03 --> 01:09:06 Yeah, backgrounds are going to be pretty fun because they're tables.
01:09:06 --> 01:09:09 So you can select from a table or you can roll the tables.
01:09:09 --> 01:09:13 Oh, I'm definitely going to be rolling a table because I ain't making any more to see me rolling.
01:09:14 --> 01:09:21 They hating. Yeah, so those start on 186 to 187.
01:09:22 --> 01:09:27 So backgrounds. So I'll just read the background blurb here.
01:09:28 --> 01:09:31 Yes all that remains is choosing a background and and
01:09:31 --> 01:09:34 describe your secret worlders personality and appearance this chapter
01:09:34 --> 01:09:38 will provide those listings and and also feats so backgrounds
01:09:38 --> 01:09:40 also are kind of like the feats as well uh or like the this
01:09:40 --> 01:09:43 is sort of like where you you'd also be assigned like your feats and so based
01:09:43 --> 01:09:46 off of your background and such backgrounds everyone comes
01:09:46 --> 01:09:49 from somewhere before you were a bee you were a person
01:09:49 --> 01:09:52 with hopes desires and dreams occupying a world
01:09:52 --> 01:09:55 you thought you knew gaia may have changed everything
01:09:55 --> 01:09:58 but she didn't erase it that person still
01:09:58 --> 01:10:01 informs everything you do bridging the gap between
01:10:01 --> 01:10:04 then and now humans are little more than
01:10:04 --> 01:10:08 a collection of memories and a spark of potential haunted meat
01:10:08 --> 01:10:11 stumbling through existence what ghosts
01:10:11 --> 01:10:14 do you carry with you i actually really love
01:10:14 --> 01:10:17 that description for humans we are
01:10:17 --> 01:10:22 haunted meat who wants
01:10:22 --> 01:10:31 to meet meat so yeah i believe there is i guess there is no actual like selection
01:10:31 --> 01:10:34 for like the the background you guys can select those but then there's like
01:10:34 --> 01:10:38 within the backgrounds there's like obsessions and stuff like that,
01:10:39 --> 01:10:44 and and what have you so okay so the the options for like backgrounds you could
01:10:44 --> 01:10:49 be a conspiracy An escaped convict, a tireless investigator,
01:10:50 --> 01:10:53 a charlatan psychic, a former cultist.
01:10:55 --> 01:10:56 An Innsmouth alumnus.
01:10:57 --> 01:11:02 Innsmouth Academy is a Illuminati run magic school in New England.
01:11:03 --> 01:11:11 On Solomon Island in Maine, there is an Illuminati school that basically is
01:11:11 --> 01:11:17 trying to teach the next generation of magic users and prospective Illuminatis.
01:11:17 --> 01:11:22 But they also do accept other faction students at an increased rate. Equal opportunists.
01:11:23 --> 01:11:26 Well, I mean, they allow them at an increased rate.
01:11:26 --> 01:11:28 Very Illuminati. Yeah.
01:11:29 --> 01:11:30 There's also Pachinko Master.
01:11:32 --> 01:11:35 There's the dracoleshti descendant and as i said dracoleshti
01:11:35 --> 01:11:38 is the name for the the descendant the
01:11:38 --> 01:11:42 descending descendants of dracula who was a vampire hunter and so basically
01:11:42 --> 01:11:47 you're from like this traveling group of vampire hunters in in the carpathian
01:11:47 --> 01:11:53 mountains you won't be drinking any garlic poor loco yeah and then that is basically
01:11:53 --> 01:11:57 it for the backgrounds that they offer?
01:11:59 --> 01:12:05 Let's see. There is one, two, three, four. You're going to roll, aren't you?
01:12:06 --> 01:12:10 You said there was a table there, sir, so you know that's what we're doing.
01:12:11 --> 01:12:12 There's tables within tables.
01:12:13 --> 01:12:17 I'll just pick this one, because it's an odd number. I don't have a seven-sided
01:12:17 --> 01:12:20 die, and I'm not going to start whittling things off.
01:12:20 --> 01:12:23 So, you know, I don't see truck driver.
01:12:25 --> 01:12:28 I don't see truck rapper unfortunately that's what no no
01:12:28 --> 01:12:32 okay i i
01:12:32 --> 01:12:35 think it's going to be hilarious that all of
01:12:35 --> 01:12:40 the different things that i have are bits that i have no idea how they came
01:12:40 --> 01:12:46 to be so like the international man of mystery that was drinking in the coffee
01:12:46 --> 01:12:53 shop is roma or romanian yeah yeah Yeah, Dracolesti Descendant.
01:12:54 --> 01:12:59 Yes. And so, like, no, you are descended from a long line of monster hunters.
01:13:00 --> 01:13:04 I'm really not. I'm really not. I'm really not, mate.
01:13:06 --> 01:13:10 I'm sorry, mate. So, you know your whole International Man of Mystery thing
01:13:10 --> 01:13:12 is the International Open Prenn House of Pancakes.
01:13:12 --> 01:13:15 Close Prenn, Man of Mystery. God damn it. Yeah.
01:13:16 --> 01:13:20 What would you say, Jeremy? Sorry. For the archetype, I'm still a little far behind.
01:13:21 --> 01:13:25 Okay. Why does everybody keep thinking that I but the,
01:13:25 --> 01:13:29 with the cantrips and stuff do you get what basically is assigned by your class
01:13:29 --> 01:13:34 like you get cantrips first level spell or whatever else I believe yes yeah
01:13:34 --> 01:13:36 okay that's what I thought so we'll make sure,
01:13:37 --> 01:13:39 Also, sorry that we're leaving you behind in the desert. No,
01:13:39 --> 01:13:44 no, no, no. No, I'm reading a lot. So, I mean, it's a lot. There's a lot of stuff in this book.
01:13:44 --> 01:13:46 I'm listening, but don't get me wrong.
01:13:47 --> 01:13:52 Also, just a quick aside for the former cultist. I love how there's this little sidebar thing.
01:13:52 --> 01:13:55 Is it a family or a cult? Take the quiz to find out.
01:13:56 --> 01:13:57 It's a family or a cult.
01:13:59 --> 01:14:04 There's a list of 12 questions. If you answered no to most of these questions, then congratulations.
01:14:04 --> 01:14:08 You probably have nothing to worry about. If you answered yes to most of these
01:14:08 --> 01:14:12 questions, then call your dad because you're in a cult.
01:14:13 --> 01:14:18 Call your dad. I do love that. I'm going to be a criminal. Okay.
01:14:19 --> 01:14:23 You know, I fought the law. Guess what, guys? Law one?
01:14:25 --> 01:14:29 Yeah. Okay. I'm going to go to the table. I want to practice what I preach.
01:14:30 --> 01:14:34 Well, yeah. Also, just something. Okay. Go ahead now. Yeah. I get skill proficiency.
01:14:34 --> 01:14:37 Yeah, you do get skill proficiencies and tool proficiencies,
01:14:37 --> 01:14:42 and you get some languages as well. I'll go through those. That makes sense.
01:14:42 --> 01:14:46 So my skill proficiencies is going to give me stealth and survival, which I do.
01:14:46 --> 01:14:50 I have a decent deck, so that would work.
01:14:50 --> 01:14:56 And then I get one type of gaming set, and I guess seems to.
01:14:57 --> 01:15:06 So yeah, a deck of cards, I guess, a gaming set. languages, he speaks two languages of your choice.
01:15:06 --> 01:15:09 So assuming English is my native language or do I include English?
01:15:10 --> 01:15:14 Yeah, languages, I'm going to say English is the default and then two optional languages.
01:15:14 --> 01:15:17 So I speak common and... Yeah.
01:15:17 --> 01:15:21 English and bad English. I speak spirithial. Partial tongue.
01:15:23 --> 01:15:29 Yeah, exactly. Like me right now with my fucking trays in. I draw my etheth.
01:15:30 --> 01:15:33 You you have a deck of dice but it's uno or deck
01:15:33 --> 01:15:38 of cards but it's uno yeah or it's magic the gathering i'm out
01:15:38 --> 01:15:40 i'm out sorry it also gives me a
01:15:40 --> 01:15:43 prison uniform because apparently i'm holding on to that for old time's sake
01:15:43 --> 01:15:46 a burner phone shiv at these
01:15:46 --> 01:15:50 tools 20 bucks whoa and a
01:15:50 --> 01:15:53 phone number of a friend or family member that you
01:15:53 --> 01:15:56 don't want to drag into all this what about
01:15:56 --> 01:15:59 everybody else what are you kind of thinking so i'm still
01:15:59 --> 01:16:02 going with descended to dracoleshti the stuff
01:16:02 --> 01:16:05 that i start with i kind of feel like here
01:16:05 --> 01:16:08 or like somebody just randomly showed up
01:16:08 --> 01:16:16 and went you are a member of family you need this what no no time for questions
01:16:16 --> 01:16:19 you take the box and then just disappeared
01:16:19 --> 01:16:26 what so i'm gonna start with languages two of choice i feel like,
01:16:27 --> 01:16:33 why do i speak german why do i speak romanian yeah,
01:16:35 --> 01:16:38 This whole thing makes no sense. So the equipment is a compass,
01:16:38 --> 01:16:41 an herbalism kit, a trophy from a monster you've slain.
01:16:44 --> 01:16:49 Yeah. Rugged clothes, a hunting trap, $50, and a monster hunting kit,
01:16:49 --> 01:16:53 which contains three stakes, five vials of holy water, a steel mirror,
01:16:53 --> 01:16:56 silver dust, iron shavings, wolfbane, and garlic.
01:16:57 --> 01:17:01 So I don't know if you've ever seen it, but up here there's an antique store,
01:17:02 --> 01:17:04 like a big mega antique store.
01:17:04 --> 01:17:07 And they had this like old like
01:17:07 --> 01:17:10 turn of the century case of vampire hunting kit that
01:17:10 --> 01:17:13 had like a steak cross garlic all
01:17:13 --> 01:17:17 like basically all the accoutrements of a vampire hunter but it was like from
01:17:17 --> 01:17:24 like the early 1900s or like from the early 20th century i love it my preferred
01:17:24 --> 01:17:31 prey is zombies okay fair i don't know well i rolled the die and it just landed on a four or so.
01:17:31 --> 01:17:39 Yeah, so my preferred prey is zombies. I don't know how I accidentally killed one.
01:17:40 --> 01:17:48 I kind of feel like the trophy is, you know how when you see the stereotypical
01:17:48 --> 01:17:52 Dracula with the medallion, I feel like I've got one of those medallions,
01:17:53 --> 01:17:56 because I accidentally killed a vampire,
01:17:57 --> 01:17:59 and I have no idea how I did it.
01:18:00 --> 01:18:04 But apparently, it's one of
01:18:04 --> 01:18:08 those, yeah, the accidental assassin is going to be so much fun to play.
01:18:08 --> 01:18:10 Yeah, I really like that idea for your character.
01:18:12 --> 01:18:13 The Mr. Bean assassin.
01:18:14 --> 01:18:18 So there's a movie that came out a couple of years back.
01:18:19 --> 01:18:28 Main character was in an accident, and then they implanted this chip that allowed his body to work again.
01:18:28 --> 01:18:33 It's kind of a cyberpunk-y movie. but apparently it takes him over I'm feeling
01:18:33 --> 01:18:37 like that's what happened with the bee Reboot?
01:18:37 --> 01:18:40 Is that what it called or re-something? I think it was Reboot.
01:18:42 --> 01:18:49 I've seen it as badass it really is there is a scene where it's like I can help you,
01:18:49 --> 01:18:52 yes please and then suddenly it takes over
01:18:52 --> 01:18:54 and he suddenly turns into a badass takes out this
01:18:54 --> 01:18:59 guy and he's smashing plates on this guy's face and he's like i don't even know
01:18:59 --> 01:19:05 what i'm doing so he's apologizing while he's kicking ass is that the john english
01:19:05 --> 01:19:13 movie or i know it's i think it's an upgrade upgrade that's great,
01:19:14 --> 01:19:20 that also has victor vibes i'm sorry i'm sorry yeah it does oh.
01:19:24 --> 01:19:30 You come from a long line of Romanian vampire hunters. I really don't. I really don't, mate.
01:19:32 --> 01:19:37 I'm like a third or fourth generation Australian. Yes, but the fifth generation.
01:19:39 --> 01:19:44 Anybody else have their background kind of picked out? Did you already say yours?
01:19:45 --> 01:19:50 When you walked away, I just went over what I had and then we were talking about his.
01:19:50 --> 01:19:53 I'm probably just going to go start for brevity sake
01:19:53 --> 01:19:56 i'm probably just going to go ahead and start rolling up
01:19:56 --> 01:19:59 my numbers and i'll give you all like what were you in for
01:19:59 --> 01:20:02 characteristics something like that i'll
01:20:02 --> 01:20:05 just do all that because i think we can pretty much skip
01:20:05 --> 01:20:08 appearance but if we get through backgrounds and
01:20:08 --> 01:20:11 then get the feeds we could probably put a bow on it yeah i
01:20:11 --> 01:20:15 think that's probably the best way okay so again sorry
01:20:15 --> 01:20:18 this is taking so long don't apologize for
01:20:18 --> 01:20:21 a good time it's just you know i might start cooking food
01:20:21 --> 01:20:24 for kids but yeah everybody else
01:20:24 --> 01:20:27 said i say jump in with a little bit about your you
01:20:27 --> 01:20:30 know background and everybody else kind of start rolling up
01:20:30 --> 01:20:33 and divvy it all out at one time it's a little
01:20:33 --> 01:20:37 bit of a joke but go watch the fast and furious movies so personality
01:20:37 --> 01:20:40 traits i'm not in it for the money i donate most of my wings to charity
01:20:40 --> 01:20:43 my deals are community my bonds are a friend or family member who's
01:20:43 --> 01:20:45 been pressuring me to get help and they
01:20:45 --> 01:20:49 care about me but they're just driving a wedge between us my flaws
01:20:49 --> 01:20:53 is that my shady pass will always come back and bite me i
01:20:53 --> 01:20:56 also picked the background feature may odds be ever in your favor which is the
01:20:56 --> 01:21:02 alternate feature i mostly use that to get green lights in traffic so okay how
01:21:02 --> 01:21:07 you holding up there jeremy oh i'm doing all right i'm doing all right there
01:21:07 --> 01:21:12 bud oh fuck bud no i'm just now looking through as, let's see.
01:21:13 --> 01:21:17 The way I've got my guy set out as a big bad Katana daddy.
01:21:19 --> 01:21:24 Big Bad Katana Daddy was the name of my high school ska band. That's right.
01:21:25 --> 01:21:28 That comes with its very own special zoot suit. Yeah. That's right.
01:21:28 --> 01:21:30 Our first album was There Can Be Only One.
01:21:31 --> 01:21:35 Yeah, it was a cover of Here We Are, Born to Be Kings. That's the only one we
01:21:35 --> 01:21:39 made. Our first album was called The Quickening. Yeah.
01:21:41 --> 01:21:43 If you were the best, it would be The Quickening and The Deadening.
01:21:43 --> 01:21:46 Oh, God. A ska cover of Born to Be Kings.
01:21:47 --> 01:21:54 Or masters of the universe princes of the universe take that head and pick it up pick it up.
01:21:56 --> 01:22:04 I think I may have to go for the Draculaist descendant oh so Draculausty oh
01:22:04 --> 01:22:10 my god this is perfect you actually have the descendant,
01:22:11 --> 01:22:14 you know that you have been and you've
01:22:14 --> 01:22:16 been sent because it's like we have a cousin he has been
01:22:16 --> 01:22:19 relocated to america he's been
01:22:19 --> 01:22:22 off our radar for a very long time you must you must tell
01:22:22 --> 01:22:25 him about his origins bring him back to the
01:22:25 --> 01:22:28 fold wait was jeremy the the the international
01:22:28 --> 01:22:31 man of mystery i i don't think
01:22:31 --> 01:22:35 he was i think that i think
01:22:35 --> 01:22:41 that he had the picture of the guy and found out no no so all of the signs actually
01:22:41 --> 01:22:47 point to the coffee guy yeah i think our cousin has been hit in the head a little
01:22:47 --> 01:22:51 bit i also just kind of think of like uh what beverly hills ninja,
01:22:52 --> 01:22:55 with like the one the one like like the the one
01:22:55 --> 01:22:59 like guy who's been like who's raised there and like is actually like a kung
01:22:59 --> 01:23:02 fu master and stuff like that but then he has to like deal with his bumbling
01:23:02 --> 01:23:08 oaf of like this adopted son who's like all who's just like Chris Farley then
01:23:08 --> 01:23:13 I was just like and he will bring honor to this like but we were wrong we were very very wrong.
01:23:16 --> 01:23:20 So can I pitch an alternate feat to you uh Crazon sure,
01:23:21 --> 01:23:27 So one of the feats here is parkour. Can I have car-core? Car- God damn it!
01:23:29 --> 01:23:32 What does parkour entail? Well, there is drive back. Oh wait,
01:23:33 --> 01:23:35 no, that's... That's not the kind of driving you're thinking of,
01:23:35 --> 01:23:36 no. Not the kind of driving.
01:23:37 --> 01:23:41 Basically just parkour, but with cars. Yeah, you know what? I'm totally down
01:23:41 --> 01:23:44 with that. Yeah, we can have a little homebrew of just car-core.
01:23:45 --> 01:23:50 Which almost sounds like car-core. Which is probably the Fast and Furious genre, to be honest.
01:23:50 --> 01:23:53 It's all about family yeah i'm totally
01:23:53 --> 01:23:56 fine with that our core got it yeah i'm gonna
01:23:56 --> 01:24:01 take the aware feet because i
01:24:01 --> 01:24:04 will say we
01:24:04 --> 01:24:08 got a lot of mileage off the the gas lighter feet especially when
01:24:08 --> 01:24:11 you're dealing with like having to like keep things away from the public eye
01:24:11 --> 01:24:15 like trying to like conceal your because that's the other thing like you're
01:24:15 --> 01:24:18 doing all this stuff and like fighting off monsters and like dealing with like
01:24:18 --> 01:24:21 espionage and so you also got to keep that stuff away from like the public eye
01:24:21 --> 01:24:26 so i mean who's unbelievable redneck why exactly are you carrying eight heads
01:24:26 --> 01:24:29 in a duffel bag they are props for movie.
01:24:31 --> 01:24:38 They are leaking they're very good props yeah i'm that corn syrup oh my goodness
01:24:38 --> 01:24:43 the prop guys made them super accurate they are fresh i must get to set now,
01:24:44 --> 01:24:47 yeah i mean look at that they're even attracting flies like
01:24:47 --> 01:24:52 a real head would gotta go yeah uh
01:24:52 --> 01:24:56 yeah that puts me in mind of the horrifying teddy bear made out of chicken oh
01:24:56 --> 01:25:02 god darcy what did you end up with for background or have you yeah that yet
01:25:02 --> 01:25:08 yeah i as we were bantering back and forth about earlier um,
01:25:09 --> 01:25:13 My unnamed character is going to be a former cultist.
01:25:13 --> 01:25:21 Not any less devout to Gaia, of course, just less devout to the cult. You just shift gears.
01:25:21 --> 01:25:26 Well, the specific means of deprogramming that my character went through is
01:25:26 --> 01:25:34 she came across a sentient magical artifact that didn't reveal the true cult intentions,
01:25:34 --> 01:25:42 which was not to love and and worship gaia to to live your best existence to gaia so.
01:25:44 --> 01:25:51 Let me let me skip where is it at is it in my flaw god damn it okay yeah it
01:25:51 --> 01:25:55 is my bond when i left the cult i stole one of their artifacts and brought it
01:25:55 --> 01:25:59 with me I'm not entirely sure what to do with it.
01:25:59 --> 01:26:10 So in my head, she touches some dusty ass tucked away artifact and Gaia through
01:26:10 --> 01:26:13 the radio waves is like, hey, babe, they're losers.
01:26:13 --> 01:26:24 And so she absolutely dips and has joined kind of backwardly society groups.
01:26:26 --> 01:26:29 With the knowledge of the great workings of Gaia,
01:26:30 --> 01:26:34 and now she's gullible,
01:26:35 --> 01:26:46 easily led, but somewhat suspicious of authority that is not directly viewing the lines of Gaia.
01:26:47 --> 01:26:48 Oh, Zubari's gonna love you.
01:26:50 --> 01:26:54 That's his whole thing. It's like, all these secret societies,
01:26:54 --> 01:26:56 they run the place, but they're all wrong.
01:26:56 --> 01:27:02 Yeah yeah and i think that she's also falling into that into that similar build
01:27:02 --> 01:27:11 of like i sure i your your parties are funny but the buzzing is all i really care about,
01:27:13 --> 01:27:16 nice yeah also it's it's nothing but like her
01:27:16 --> 01:27:19 her transmissions often have like pop culture references
01:27:19 --> 01:27:22 in them especially in the game some
01:27:22 --> 01:27:25 of that like uh and i even i tried our campaign i
01:27:25 --> 01:27:28 had like they actually received a direct message from
01:27:28 --> 01:27:31 gaia for one of the missions and it was like i literally like captioned
01:27:31 --> 01:27:34 like quotes from movies and so that so it's like like transmit
01:27:34 --> 01:27:38 like it's like incoming message transmit initiate
01:27:38 --> 01:27:44 can't stop the can't stop the signal so what you're saying is it it's actual
01:27:44 --> 01:27:49 bumblebee from that shitty yes it is it's basically like so what you guys hear
01:27:49 --> 01:27:56 in your head is is a mix between the buzzing of bees a number station and bumblebee's vocal thing,
01:27:56 --> 01:28:00 a vocal quirk from the Transformers movies. And I'm locked in, baby.
01:28:00 --> 01:28:04 It's my favorite station. This is my favorite beat. Yeah.
01:28:06 --> 01:28:10 What's that? It's like lo-fi lo-fi giant. Yes.
01:28:11 --> 01:28:15 Lo-fi buzzings to fight monsters, too.
01:28:17 --> 01:28:19 Nice. I do like that, yeah.
01:28:21 --> 01:28:25 I think we've already went over pretty much our background stuff.
01:28:25 --> 01:28:27 Do you all care if I jump in and tell you a little bit about Byrne?
01:28:28 --> 01:28:32 Please do. And then I want to know what everybody else's background feats are
01:28:32 --> 01:28:34 before I select. I got a couple in mind.
01:28:36 --> 01:28:39 So, boys, let me tell you about Byrne. He's a man of the world.
01:28:39 --> 01:28:42 He's been to a couple countries. Not a bunch, but a couple.
01:28:43 --> 01:28:46 But he ended up in prison in Paris.
01:28:48 --> 01:28:51 I destroyed property. It might or might not have been an accident.
01:28:52 --> 01:28:55 So you remember that whole thing at Notre Dame? Oh, no.
01:28:56 --> 01:29:03 Oh, no. So, all right. So I did that. And then my reputation, I've rode.
01:29:03 --> 01:29:05 Oh, God. I've kind of skipped out on that.
01:29:06 --> 01:29:11 I just want to point out first kind of the downstatedness of this. So I did that, Anne.
01:29:14 --> 01:29:20 Go ahead. No, no problem. My personality trait is my reputation is important to me.
01:29:20 --> 01:29:26 Talk shit get hit that's very hillbilly wreck neckish so that fits perfect i
01:29:26 --> 01:29:34 was very pleased with that my ideal is well no it's not my ideal excuse me that's
01:29:34 --> 01:29:40 my personality trait my ideal i rode d6 and what did i get excuse me redemption,
01:29:41 --> 01:29:45 I wrote redemption. I know what I did was wrong. Sorry about that church.
01:29:45 --> 01:29:47 I'm trying to make it up to the church.
01:29:48 --> 01:29:53 Oh, God. My bond is a little conflicted. Someone betrayed me,
01:29:53 --> 01:29:54 and I'm determined to figure out who.
01:29:55 --> 01:30:02 And my flaw is I'm so anti-authoritarian that I'm likely to ignore the best
01:30:02 --> 01:30:04 advice, which kind of fits with the build.
01:30:06 --> 01:30:09 So, yeah, that's kind of what I got. My God, that's awesome.
01:30:09 --> 01:30:13 Also, yeah, it's funny that you're in Paris because, yeah, that's a Templar
01:30:13 --> 01:30:15 stronghold in the tabletop RPG setting.
01:30:15 --> 01:30:18 They may have actually broke me out of prison.
01:30:18 --> 01:30:20 Yeah, they're like, oh, this guy's a bee. Okay, yeah, get him out.
01:30:21 --> 01:30:23 That's how I become transcontinental.
01:30:24 --> 01:30:28 It was basically like, so, so, Mr. Whatever your name, I can't remember.
01:30:28 --> 01:30:30 You didn't come up with the name yet. But it's like, so, Mr.
01:30:31 --> 01:30:34 You can either join our secret society or you could spend the rest of your life
01:30:34 --> 01:30:35 rotting in this presence.
01:30:36 --> 01:30:44 The choice is yours, good sir. Yes. sounds good well all right so that is that's
01:30:44 --> 01:30:49 adam's character and we got a little bit from darcy i think earlier too you're
01:30:49 --> 01:30:53 uh you're cultist indeed yeah i'm going through right now,
01:30:54 --> 01:31:00 unfortunately the name generators are just not giving me culty enough i.
01:31:02 --> 01:31:11 Star shine yeah i'm looking for some real some real i did i did one of our running
01:31:11 --> 01:31:17 gags within red markets was that there's this one group that is a reformed hippie
01:31:17 --> 01:31:22 commune and it was so we talked moonbeam wait wait which moonbeam there's always a moonbeam,
01:31:24 --> 01:31:26 i i should also bring up in terms of the lore
01:31:26 --> 01:31:31 there is an established like scientologist hippie
01:31:31 --> 01:31:35 cult oh yeah that secretly that that
01:31:35 --> 01:31:37 is secretly at least secretly to the to the
01:31:37 --> 01:31:41 public it's kind of well known to the secret societies that they're
01:31:41 --> 01:31:44 actually a cult of the dreaming ones it's called the morning light
01:31:44 --> 01:31:49 and uh we're they're they're they're their whole their slogan is we're all made
01:31:49 --> 01:31:56 of stars and it's funny it's ironic because they they say everybody's made of
01:31:56 --> 01:32:01 stars and we're all made of star stuff but their gods that they secretly worship eat stars,
01:32:01 --> 01:32:08 how fitting and as someone with a middle name of a fucking star they need to
01:32:08 --> 01:32:13 leave me alone they they need it back but i like that you said the the cult
01:32:13 --> 01:32:17 of the morning light uh yeah the The morning light, I believe, is the name. Nice.
01:32:18 --> 01:32:23 They're also, in the lore, they have a South African encampment.
01:32:24 --> 01:32:32 Or an African camp, kind of like the a la the what's that creepy cult that killed themselves off?
01:32:33 --> 01:32:37 Oh, Jonestown? Yeah, Jonestown. Yeah, it's not Jonestown specifically.
01:32:37 --> 01:32:41 Not me going, oh, Jonestown. Casual.
01:32:43 --> 01:32:46 It's not Jonestown specifically in the setting, but it definitely draws inspiration
01:32:46 --> 01:32:50 from that. Yeah. Well, you got to be along the Tropic of Cancer.
01:32:51 --> 01:32:55 The closer the stars, you know, the better for each. Yeah. Yum,
01:32:55 --> 01:32:57 yum, yum, yum. They're just so tasty.
01:32:58 --> 01:33:02 But yeah, they're basically like, yeah, in the setting, they're like this kind
01:33:02 --> 01:33:05 of very like, oh, we're here to help you.
01:33:05 --> 01:33:09 We're here to give you a community and help build strength when really they're
01:33:09 --> 01:33:13 also brainwashing you to worship the dreaming ones. Yeah.
01:33:14 --> 01:33:16 Don't get suspicious, but you are delicious.
01:33:18 --> 01:33:18 Perfect.
01:33:20 --> 01:33:26 That's perfect. Don't get suspicious, don't get suspicious. uh but yeah i do
01:33:26 --> 01:33:30 yeah that that's perfect for this character for that for like as i mean you
01:33:30 --> 01:33:32 could you could also come up with your own cult but like that just seemed like
01:33:32 --> 01:33:37 it's perfectly i love it now and now i've got to find something multi-layered that means,
01:33:38 --> 01:33:44 something to do fucking something to do with astrology yeah i think names are
01:33:44 --> 01:33:49 always the thing i struggle with the worst for characters oh esther yeah yeah
01:33:49 --> 01:33:54 it's if you go with biblical meanings. That one means heavenly body.
01:33:56 --> 01:34:00 Let me get back to you guys. I'll find something. Stella?
01:34:01 --> 01:34:07 I did also decide on one of my it's not your background your secret,
01:34:08 --> 01:34:13 Hold on, let me go back to the book. Every time you say anything with Ella on
01:34:13 --> 01:34:17 the end, Chris, I think, get away from me, you Twilight adjacent bastard. I know.
01:34:19 --> 01:34:22 Our archetypes. Oh, yeah. The archetype, yeah.
01:34:23 --> 01:34:28 One, at least, is going to be the secret of Martim. So we will have...
01:34:28 --> 01:34:33 Yeah. Her blood mage. Yeah, do you expect anything less from the cultist?
01:34:33 --> 01:34:36 It's super creepy. by the way it's super creepy the the
01:34:36 --> 01:34:39 the the martyr stuff in in the mmo because like
01:34:39 --> 01:34:42 that's how you heal somebody you just cut your yes or not
01:34:42 --> 01:34:45 not your wrist but you cut your palms and stuff and your character
01:34:45 --> 01:34:48 is specifically bleeding as you're healing healing you yeah
01:34:48 --> 01:34:51 i was cracking up sitting there thinking about
01:34:51 --> 01:34:54 we were talking about the bullets of healing earlier
01:34:54 --> 01:35:00 yeah and i was just sitting here formulating like take
01:35:00 --> 01:35:03 my healing oh i i love being a creepy
01:35:03 --> 01:35:08 little beyond being nice yeah i specifically remember my one buddy who was like
01:35:08 --> 01:35:11 using the blood magic stuff in the game i was like don't worry i'll create a
01:35:11 --> 01:35:14 defensive bubble around us and heal us and he's like he's got this like horror
01:35:14 --> 01:35:18 this like light halo around him but the entire time he's just there's like animations
01:35:18 --> 01:35:20 of blood coming off of his like his arms i was like.
01:35:22 --> 01:35:29 This is truly urban fantasy horror game you're saying mmo i'm hearing mm no
01:35:29 --> 01:35:34 yeah i mean the the the free to play version is a lot better than the, the,
01:35:35 --> 01:35:39 pay pay monthly one that came out in 2012 but i
01:35:39 --> 01:35:43 wish it would i wish they do more with the actual the actual setting in
01:35:43 --> 01:35:45 terms of games funcoms kind of like
01:35:45 --> 01:35:48 left it by the wayside in terms of like a video game aspect of
01:35:48 --> 01:35:51 it yeah free to play is how to get your soul
01:35:51 --> 01:35:54 i know i know i've already i've definitely
01:35:54 --> 01:35:57 given some actual money to get like in-game currency in
01:35:57 --> 01:36:00 that in the free-to-play version i think i have like scum
01:36:00 --> 01:36:05 well no just cosmetic stuff i'm kidding i'm kidding it's pay to pay to look
01:36:05 --> 01:36:09 good oh you're still scum or pay to pay to move faster because there's a sprint
01:36:09 --> 01:36:14 uh there's like uh mounts in in the game are sprints and they have cosmetics
01:36:14 --> 01:36:18 but you they also have like a thing that you can buy with real in-game money
01:36:18 --> 01:36:19 but also real world money,
01:36:20 --> 01:36:25 to move faster in the game so i returned to my previous admonition yeah no i
01:36:25 --> 01:36:32 i'm a monster i i admit it speaking of monsters okay no actually i was speaking
01:36:32 --> 01:36:34 of uh actually brownie what do you have for your background and some of that
01:36:34 --> 01:36:38 i mean watch the fast and the furious movies right.
01:36:40 --> 01:36:46 I think we already covered this but like like the flaws and bonds and stuff,
01:36:47 --> 01:36:50 oh no i already went through those oh did you okay sorry my bad no
01:36:50 --> 01:36:53 no i i can talk about them again i mean just gotta pull
01:36:53 --> 01:36:56 my pdf i'm just not sure if i was there or not if i might have been like
01:36:56 --> 01:36:59 letting me see when that happened so we're talking about personality traits ideals
01:36:59 --> 01:37:02 bonds flaws etc yeah yeah yeah so
01:37:02 --> 01:37:04 personality traits i'm not in it for the money i don't need a buck of
01:37:04 --> 01:37:08 my winning to charity ideals community because family bonds
01:37:08 --> 01:37:11 friend or family member who's been pushing me to get help i know
01:37:11 --> 01:37:13 they care about me but it's driving a wedge between us and we can't have that
01:37:13 --> 01:37:19 because family flaws my shady past always comes back to bite me family and the
01:37:19 --> 01:37:22 background feature that i like the most was may the odds be ever in your favor
01:37:22 --> 01:37:27 which i mostly use for green lights right okay i do remember you saying that
01:37:27 --> 01:37:30 my bad and i'm not sure if this is a background characteristic or what,
01:37:30 --> 01:37:31 but I just want to say it again.
01:37:31 --> 01:37:33 Karkor. Karkor!
01:37:35 --> 01:37:38 Do we get a feat? Is that what you're saying?
01:37:39 --> 01:37:43 Yeah, feats come from, like, after your background stuff, you guys get a feat.
01:37:44 --> 01:37:47 Okay, so we get one. Okay. Yeah. Let me just double check that, make sure.
01:37:48 --> 01:37:51 You've got to kind of watch some of them, too. There's one of them that's completely
01:37:51 --> 01:37:54 worthless that I could have picked and I thought was great for a moment.
01:37:55 --> 01:37:56 Like, it was strong back.
01:37:56 --> 01:37:58 It says you can lift or carry far
01:37:58 --> 01:38:02 more than your peers, increase your strength by one to a maximum of 20.
01:38:02 --> 01:38:06 Your capacity to carry, lift, and push objects double. well
01:38:06 --> 01:38:09 i mean honestly if i don't take a feed i can just up any
01:38:09 --> 01:38:12 stat by two anyway so the plus one
01:38:12 --> 01:38:15 and then packing stuff around it just seems like
01:38:15 --> 01:38:21 i'd yeah in terms of mmo increased inventory weight capacity yes please yeah
01:38:21 --> 01:38:28 if it's for the mmo okay yes i can see that being very useful yep yeah so when
01:38:28 --> 01:38:33 do you do take feeds hang on double check this it's at the very last section
01:38:33 --> 01:38:34 of character creation, I think.
01:38:35 --> 01:38:38 Yeah. I'm just trying to say, like, do you take one at the level?
01:38:40 --> 01:38:43 Gaslighter did look cool. I also kind of like Spiritual Sight,
01:38:43 --> 01:38:46 by the way. Just, I see dead people. I actually do that.
01:38:48 --> 01:38:50 And you can speak to dead spirits, so that's actually, well,
01:38:51 --> 01:38:53 if somebody else is going to take Gaslighter, which they don't have to,
01:38:54 --> 01:38:59 which it just, that seems cool, but I like Spiritual Sight. I'm a redneck who sees the dead.
01:39:00 --> 01:39:05 Yeah well we are going to be a pair i tell you i look
01:39:05 --> 01:39:08 forward to when we redo this it was because i i
01:39:08 --> 01:39:11 mean i plan on keeping the same background and stuff
01:39:11 --> 01:39:14 like that and just port this over with savage worlds when
01:39:14 --> 01:39:17 we do that real up yeah well i think we should do
01:39:17 --> 01:39:20 that too to show the contrast between the two yeah i i would love to do that
01:39:20 --> 01:39:25 because yeah again i ran this game and i do love this game but the system's
01:39:25 --> 01:39:28 a little cumbersome yeah cumbersome and i don't think ideal for the setting
01:39:28 --> 01:39:34 i will be the first to admit that yeah so actually i just i just saw i just saw here so.
01:39:35 --> 01:39:38 At certain levels you your class gives you
01:39:38 --> 01:39:42 the ability score improvement or feet feature that's
01:39:42 --> 01:39:45 when you get feats when you fit your background well
01:39:45 --> 01:39:48 enough to where you can take it yeah so we don't have to
01:39:48 --> 01:39:50 pick a feat right now not at the moment yeah sorry
01:39:50 --> 01:39:53 my bad no it's all good or i riot that means
01:39:53 --> 01:39:57 all right yeah that means i think i'm done then i
01:39:57 --> 01:39:59 just gotta like finish some stuff up something i want
01:39:59 --> 01:40:02 to look at brownie if you can kind of direct me on this too of
01:40:02 --> 01:40:05 course i think i may just print the pdf if we
01:40:05 --> 01:40:08 upload these for people to download i don't want to give them the one
01:40:08 --> 01:40:11 that costs money so if i that's yeah
01:40:11 --> 01:40:14 just use a print the pdf and then just
01:40:14 --> 01:40:17 print your pages as the pdf and then it's not going to be form
01:40:17 --> 01:40:20 fillable yep yep mine's going to be garbage because i
01:40:20 --> 01:40:23 definitely got lost oh i did i still need
01:40:23 --> 01:40:26 to go through and get all of the gear yeah yeah because
01:40:26 --> 01:40:30 there's so much there's a lot of yeah because there's also talismans which are
01:40:30 --> 01:40:34 like minor artifacts that you can like boost yourself and so yeah yeah we've
01:40:34 --> 01:40:38 we've gone a long time but we no longer have time for a montage yeah yeah one
01:40:38 --> 01:40:41 thing actually jeremy did you actually do your your background all that stuff
01:40:41 --> 01:40:45 or i did okay sorry i i may not have been here that's why i was just Yeah, no, I haven't done it.
01:40:45 --> 01:40:50 Like I haven't said I did it, but I didn't like explain it. Okay.
01:40:51 --> 01:40:56 Yeah, I went with the Dracula Leste descendant for the personality trait.
01:40:56 --> 01:40:58 I did all random roles because I thought that was fun. Yeah.
01:41:00 --> 01:41:04 The personality trait, able to focus under even the most chaotic circumstances.
01:41:05 --> 01:41:10 For ideals, he went traditional. For someone like me, there's no life but this one.
01:41:10 --> 01:41:15 For bonds, I'm eternally hunting a legendary target. My defeat of it will prove it is real.
01:41:15 --> 01:41:20 For my flaws, I have developed an addiction in the wake of all I have done and seen.
01:41:20 --> 01:41:28 And for my background features, I rolled up for my preferred prey is spirits.
01:41:28 --> 01:41:32 And then I also get a thing called hunting ground that gives me advantage on
01:41:32 --> 01:41:35 nature and survival checks for tracking and stuff like that for firsts.
01:41:36 --> 01:41:42 Also, I just like the idea that I'm eternally hunting a legendary target. It's like a selkie.
01:41:44 --> 01:41:48 Something just tiny. Yeah. I will prove this thing exists.
01:41:50 --> 01:41:53 I was thinking either that or it could be a case of, alright,
01:41:54 --> 01:41:55 I think I have found the vampire.
01:41:56 --> 01:42:01 Why is it why is it dead no
01:42:01 --> 01:42:04 no i mean it's it's it's literally dead like not
01:42:04 --> 01:42:07 just undead it's it's it's dead dead somebody has
01:42:07 --> 01:42:10 taken his head off cut to
01:42:10 --> 01:42:13 your character it's like why do i have this head god why are
01:42:13 --> 01:42:17 you holding it just keep happening i
01:42:17 --> 01:42:20 didn't mean to do it it's like
01:42:20 --> 01:42:25 that thing from from american werewolf in london oh no not again just wake up
01:42:25 --> 01:42:35 with a dead vampire nearby why does this keep happening to me yeah i think that
01:42:35 --> 01:42:38 about covers adam i'm going to apologize for you having to edit this.
01:42:40 --> 01:42:43 It's fine and if we decide to if you
01:42:43 --> 01:42:45 do intend which i will not guilt you in
01:42:45 --> 01:42:49 any sort of way if you ever do want to run it for rpx we
01:42:49 --> 01:42:52 have characters ready to go and i have literally a
01:42:52 --> 01:42:55 library of scenarios that i have already run with the with
01:42:55 --> 01:42:58 the one less die crew that i would love to run for you guys to see how
01:42:58 --> 01:43:01 you walk you guys investigate strange monsters
01:43:01 --> 01:43:04 and stuff i will modify them slightly so they're not all like
01:43:04 --> 01:43:08 newfoundland centric because that was our campaign was basically newfoundland
01:43:08 --> 01:43:14 monster hunters i guarantee you that we'll talk about dildo a lot less to be
01:43:14 --> 01:43:22 fair will we have you heard that i i hard i hard noped on like on dildo in that campaign,
01:43:22 --> 01:43:25 that sounds weird now that i've said that out loud,
01:43:27 --> 01:43:35 or to do that sometimes here we are sorry argue no foul on dildos yeah yeah so.
01:43:36 --> 01:43:39 Folks, it's been fun. Chris, thank you so much for taking us through this here.
01:43:40 --> 01:43:43 I really do appreciate it. This has been something I've been wanting to kind
01:43:43 --> 01:43:48 of tip my toes into since you started talking about the game.
01:43:48 --> 01:43:51 And I did play a little bit. I started talking your ear off about the secret world.
01:43:52 --> 01:43:57 I mean, I got to hear your friends. I got to hear about their adventures and all the fun they had.
01:43:57 --> 01:44:00 And I was like, I would have played enough games.
01:44:02 --> 01:44:07 Yeah no i i'm i was happy to be you guys vigil or uh virgil or whatever the
01:44:07 --> 01:44:12 one of a dante going through the hell that is the hell that is fifth edition
01:44:12 --> 01:44:13 character creation in secret world.
01:44:14 --> 01:44:20 It was no i mean adam was this worse or better than mass effect d20 it didn't
01:44:20 --> 01:44:26 take three days so it's great that's it did not yeah that's yeah it's hours
01:44:26 --> 01:44:32 of it so tell you something i want to Thank you all for listening to this podcast,
01:44:32 --> 01:44:36 if you're listening to it, you know, in December-ish or January.
01:44:36 --> 01:44:41 That means you're a backer at a certain level at our Patreon,
01:44:41 --> 01:44:44 and you get all these roll-ups three months in advance.
01:44:45 --> 01:44:52 Now, we have, actually, the month of September, we've started our own little podcasting network.
01:44:52 --> 01:44:55 We're CritInanite.com.
01:44:56 --> 01:45:00 Yep, .com. I had to double-check. I thought we'd check you something different.
01:45:00 --> 01:45:06 So yeah, we're critintonight.com, and you can catch either of our podcasts.
01:45:06 --> 01:45:07 Well, I'll talk about myself.
01:45:07 --> 01:45:12 I'll let Chris take over, but you can still reach Roadpoint Exchange at roadpointexchange.com.
01:45:13 --> 01:45:18 And we are still on Twitter, which is X for some reason, but I refuse to say it because it's silly.
01:45:19 --> 01:45:21 And we're at RPExchange.
01:45:22 --> 01:45:26 Chris, what about yourself, bud? yeah i am also part of this this new podcast
01:45:26 --> 01:45:31 network we've created for my two podcasts one less die and al dente rigamortis
01:45:31 --> 01:45:35 al dente rigamortis is a is a little podcast that we've been doing for about
01:45:35 --> 01:45:40 10 years now where we take creepypastas that i love so much,
01:45:40 --> 01:45:47 and me and some some of my friends read and review and discuss the contents of said creepypastas.
01:45:48 --> 01:45:51 And we give recommendations on whether or not we think they'd be like we would
01:45:51 --> 01:45:53 recommend them to people are not, are not.
01:45:54 --> 01:45:57 So, and on that podcast, I go by Review Cultist.
01:45:58 --> 01:46:01 When I'm not the Review Cultist, reading and reviewing Creepypastas,
01:46:01 --> 01:46:05 I have One Less Die, which is my tabletop RPG actual play podcast.
01:46:06 --> 01:46:11 We started it with Shadowrun, and we have since broadened it with other games
01:46:11 --> 01:46:18 that I have been recording and editing and posting far longer than the podcast itself.
01:46:19 --> 01:46:23 And yeah, we have a wide range of games, such as Monster of the Week,
01:46:23 --> 01:46:27 Cthulhu D20, Pathfinder, D&D 5e.
01:46:27 --> 01:46:33 So all the D20 stuff, but also Powered by the Apocalypse, Shadowrun, Vossen.
01:46:34 --> 01:46:40 So we have a smattering of various supernatural and urban fantasy and fantasy
01:46:40 --> 01:46:43 games. A little bit of sci-fi. Yeah.
01:46:43 --> 01:46:47 Yeah. And both of us, each of our podcasts has a Patreon.
01:46:47 --> 01:46:54 So if you would like to catch us I mean obviously you can find links to those at credit night or on our.
01:46:55 --> 01:47:00 Subsequent pages that we have there but yeah we're patreon.com slash rolepoint
01:47:00 --> 01:47:06 exchange and yourself yeah al dente has its own podcast or has its own patreon,
01:47:07 --> 01:47:12 I've just been using that patreon specifically for al dente and any extra money
01:47:12 --> 01:47:16 that we get from that also goes toward paying the hosting bills for one less die as well so So,
01:47:17 --> 01:47:19 awesome. We thank you for your patronage.
01:47:19 --> 01:47:22 Thank you so much. We wouldn't have been able to actually pay for the web hosting
01:47:22 --> 01:47:27 or the, you know, syndication and stuff that we use for these podcasts without your help.
01:47:27 --> 01:47:32 So, yeah, thank you very much. And thank you to everybody else who joined in today.
01:47:32 --> 01:47:36 I appreciate it. And I look forward to us going through the second iteration
01:47:36 --> 01:47:40 of Secret World Character Creation with Savage World.
01:47:41 --> 01:47:47 That'll be so much fun. Y'all take care. Sleep well. Bye now. Bye, Internet.
01:47:48 --> 01:48:15 Music.
