Juan’s aircraft soared through the frigid air above Esperanza City. His scheduled round of recognizance was like it had been the last few weeks. He hoped an assault from the Greater Ice would yield something exciting, despite the horrific threat it incurred. The Dero Dominion could strike any time, but they’d been bidding theirs of late. Pushing the usual route out a bit wider from the city, mostly from boredom then vigil, he caught sight of something new. Any signs of green among the white and brown of the Antarctic peninsula were odd, very odd. As he flew closer, to his surprise, it looked to be an oasis amongst the cold! Farms, a forest and a town at the center of a circular cut of summer. Against orders, he dove down to land. He just had to get a closer look, make sure his eyes weren’t betraying him.
