The people of Myth’s End remember the Howling that night. The night the local magus, Ignatius the Illustrious disappeared, everyone heard the strange cacophonic howling across the township. But only Mildred Miller, a girl of nine, heard more than random noises. She heard whispers beneath the noise. A deep old voice whispering deep old words, words that scared the child. While she would not show it, for the first time in her young life she was truly afraid of them. What scared her was while she could not understand the words, they were etched into her mind… crawling in and nesting there for her to recall them to someone.
