[00:00:00] Oh, hello and welcome to Al Dente Rigamortis. I'm Review Cultist. I'm Mikey,

[00:00:23] and I'm the Gamer in Yellow. And we're here to discuss those internet stories, most creepy

[00:00:28] animals pasta and be critically silly doing it. And tonight we have yet another yarn

[00:00:34] in the wicker saga one last drink. It took every ounce of my being to not go one less

[00:00:43] time. I just want to, like, I just need to get that off my chest there. But yeah, no, we're

[00:00:57] covering one last drink which is a very short story by Shadow Swimmer 77. It's part of

[00:01:04] the wicker saga setting. And you can check it out over on creeppasta.wiki. So before we get

[00:01:17] too far ahead, I suppose we should do our initial recommendations, I'm going to recommend

[00:01:23] it. I am also going to recommend it. I am going to stay the course with you guys and

[00:01:29] also recommend it. Interesting. We'll see if that changes and we all hate it by the end of

[00:01:35] our discussion. I'm not going to lie. I kind of went into this thinking that I was going to be the

[00:01:39] only one recommending it. Interesting. But I suppose we shall find out why my fears were like that,

[00:01:48] perhaps maybe. But before we get too far, let's go into the rundown. Yeah, there's no rock or no

[00:01:58] air. We actually have, it's a disembodied voice narrating the story centered around two drunks

[00:02:05] known as Joe and Frank. So this duo of drunks, Joe and Frank they get into a new bar after getting

[00:02:15] kicked out of the last one they were in. Frank knew the bar for a second there. A new bar. Sorry.

[00:02:21] It might be for all we know. But yeah, I need to enunciate better.

[00:02:26] It might just be my ears not working right? I mean, let's fair. What?

[00:02:32] Don't worry about it. Okay.

[00:02:38] And yeah, so Frank is all buzzed up and happy. And Joe is just a wee bit paranoid about something.

[00:02:46] Joe thinks they should head back home where their affiliate boris wants them back by a certain

[00:02:53] curfew. But Frank, he's not having any of this and he thinks this is a buzzkill and states that

[00:02:59] they are leaving until they have one last drink credits. No.

[00:03:08] I just want to story. Yeah, exactly.

[00:03:14] But before this transaction occurs, a smoking hot lady comes into the bar and attracts Frank's attention.

[00:03:20] And despite Joe's warnings goes over and attempts to flirt with the lady.

[00:03:26] This ends up working somehow and the two of them go off to the restroom in the back as Joe is left

[00:03:33] to wait and wait and wait even more. After half an hour, Joe goes to investigate to find that

[00:03:44] the lady and two goons have Frank beaten and in the middle of some impromptu dentistry by the

[00:03:51] lady with pliers. As Joe walks further into protest, this situation, he is injected from behind

[00:04:00] with something painful that knocks him out. Later, Frank and Joe wake up bound to chairs in a

[00:04:07] warehouse with the lady and the goons in front of them no longer dressed in the sexy bar

[00:04:14] tending outfit that she was in. She's now in like military fatigues as are her goons.

[00:04:20] I mean, a bar attending. Yes. Got you.

[00:04:27] But yeah, she's in like military fatigues like her goons.

[00:04:32] Joe asks a bunch of questions and begs for a drink because he has incredibly parched probably from

[00:04:40] the drug that was injected into him. And to which one of the goons administers some drops of blood

[00:04:47] from a blood bag to the two men that are bound in chairs. And the lady reveals that she, her name

[00:04:55] is Morgana Fontaine and explains that this is a revenge plot for what these two monsters did to

[00:05:02] her sister. She then proceeds to open the warehouse door where the light of mourning burns away

[00:05:09] and kills the two bound vampires as it is revealed. After the job is done, the hunters begin to

[00:05:18] clean up and prepare to go get breakfast. Finn! So there's quite a couple of twists there.

[00:05:27] Yeah, it's very twisty. Yeah. Everyone was doing in the club. They were all doing the twist.

[00:05:32] Yeah, twist, twist. That's what that's the dance we're using these days, right?

[00:05:39] Yeah, clearly yeah. We're doing the bedrock twist.

[00:05:42] Yeah, that's honestly whatever I think of it, I just think of the fun selves move.

[00:05:48] Right! Just like Barney and Fred like talk about it like going to the rockerfeller.

[00:05:54] Yeah. And just like doing the twist, twist.

[00:05:57] Oh my god, we are so fucking old. It's a good movie.

[00:06:02] It is. It's the best of the Flintstones live action movies, which is not saying much.

[00:06:09] Which is also not the story.

[00:06:11] No, we continue.

[00:06:13] Yes, well we digress.

[00:06:16] Yeah, so that's the rundown of the story.

[00:06:20] So let's continue on with everyone tolerance of Grammy musicians at this point.

[00:06:27] I've got one and it's not really a Grammy musician but I always count this in the grammar section

[00:06:33] because it's a word I learned. Okay.

[00:06:37] Frank's drunken abuliance turned Solan in an instant as he soakily leaned across the bar

[00:06:46] his scowl fixed on the bowl of peanuts resting between them.

[00:06:50] Other new words today?

[00:06:52] Peanuts. No.

[00:06:57] Bar. No.

[00:07:01] No, abulians or abulians which is a noun the quality of being cheerful and full of energy.

[00:07:08] Otherwise known as exuberance.

[00:07:12] I also remember.

[00:07:13] Yeah because I was looking at my reds like what that is. That is definitely a $5 word.

[00:07:17] And I was about to say like hang on what do these drunk guys say in that?

[00:07:22] Like no, okay it's an aerator. He could say.

[00:07:23] Yeah exactly.

[00:07:24] It's a disembodied narrator telling us the story.

[00:07:27] So you get a pass.

[00:07:32] But honestly that's my grammar position so Mikey these stands for evil.

[00:07:37] I have a junction junction that's mostly dialogue but it's still a conjunction junction.

[00:07:42] I just call on him.

[00:07:44] Yes as with most of them but yes.

[00:07:49] All right and next stop.

[00:07:51] Construction junction.

[00:07:53] It was Saturday night and the bar was crowded with 20 and 30 some things.

[00:07:59] A dull roar of conversation filling the air as they joked and flirted.

[00:08:05] It's getting late and if we don't get back soon we're going to be toast.

[00:08:13] And I don't care how tough you think you are.

[00:08:16] If that happens we are going to most likely get the shit kicked out of us.

[00:08:24] And what I am doing she said heaving at the chain to raise the door

[00:08:32] is ridding the world of two more god for second parasites.

[00:08:38] Finn yeah.

[00:08:42] Sure to the point.

[00:08:43] Yep I really I can't think of something that's funny even now.

[00:08:46] No not really.

[00:08:49] Sometime you can have a sense with the story that

[00:08:52] the story words that they probably shouldn't like it's under butts because it's really

[00:08:54] better wordy words to use.

[00:08:56] We could kind of turn into a funny like head can in the story based on that but not so much this time.

[00:09:01] I think it was just because it was so short.

[00:09:03] Yeah there wasn't enough content.

[00:09:05] Yeah the story was too well written god damn it.

[00:09:09] Yeah damn how dare you shadow so we're 27 right?

[00:09:13] Thank you.

[00:09:22] All right then I guess this is on to the grammar in yellow.

[00:09:26] Yeah I got like one.

[00:09:28] Approaching the remains Morgana noisily hocked in spatter healthy wild of slime on of the ash.

[00:09:33] I had to take the grossest one.

[00:09:35] Oh yeah did.

[00:09:36] But um I feel like there needs to be a comma there after remains because it says like approaching

[00:09:42] the remains Morgana.

[00:09:43] Yeah.

[00:09:44] It should be approaching the remains Morgana noisily hocked in spat.

[00:09:49] Yeah no I yeah that definitely needs a little bit of punctuation like I a comma.

[00:09:54] Yep but that's the way I got because the rest of it was pretty well written.

[00:09:59] Okay then I suppose we move on to final thought or fun.

[00:10:02] Oh what?

[00:10:05] lose your time.

[00:10:09] I suppose I suppose with that we'll move on to actual thoughts.

[00:10:15] So this one was originally in my grammar position but I decided to move it over to actual thoughts

[00:10:19] because it's not really the fact that like the wording is wrong it's just that

[00:10:23] it took me a few seconds to get it because of the description.

[00:10:27] That would be because the description isn't clear enough.

[00:10:30] No no yeah but I still don't feel that's like a grammar issue like like it's not like

[00:10:35] yeah I don't think it's a grammar issue with this one.

[00:10:37] I'll just say this every time that happens to me I absolutely put in the grammar and yellow

[00:10:41] because like I struggled on this so it's a work.

[00:10:44] Okay then I'll let you guys decide when I read this this book.

[00:10:50] A cold metallic sheen slid over Frank's eyes and his mouth and his mouth drew into a hard line

[00:10:56] as he reached up and took hold of Joe's wrist in a crushing grip.

[00:11:03] Okay so I eventually got what this was trying to say.

[00:11:06] Also for clarity the next line he says is like Joe let go of me.

[00:11:11] Yeah even though he was the guy that just grabbed someone.

[00:11:14] No because Joe grabbed him by like the collar like grabbed his jacket

[00:11:19] trying to like get him to leave.

[00:11:21] Yes and I bring that up because I also struggled on this a few times.

[00:11:25] So I'm like what's trying to be said here but I put it down.

[00:11:28] Yeah and I get it like a cool for some reason I kept visualizing like like a knife

[00:11:34] going up to Frank's eyes.

[00:11:37] And like but like is it oh no a cold metallic sheen like slid over Frank's eyes like basically like

[00:11:43] uh he became more like yeah that or became more metallic like more like yeah suddenly his eyes

[00:11:48] became like went hardened like kind of not like it's like dramatic anime guy with glass

[00:11:54] glasses mode.

[00:11:55] Kind of yeah like there's a metallic sheen like like shink on his eyes as he basically like

[00:12:02] became more intense.

[00:12:04] Yeah like that's where it's trying to say but it was just so visual that like I couldn't help but

[00:12:09] keep it like but like get confused by the visual.

[00:12:11] I'm as far as the sheen has got you.

[00:12:14] For me the confusing part is like it was a long time ago like in a galaxy far far away when he

[00:12:20] said that um Joe grabbed Frank's like shoulder.

[00:12:25] Yeah but then like a paragraph later it says um it says Frank grabbed Joe's wrist and then said

[00:12:36] let go of me Joe.

[00:12:39] Yeah which but like the last thing you just it was grabbed someone so I imagined the next person

[00:12:45] to be talking to the saying let go of me you just grab me right now in the wrist with your hand

[00:12:50] right now.

[00:12:51] Yeah it should have been Joe saying like let go of me Frank or yeah I thought that's what I meant

[00:12:55] I thought it was like a typo uh the wrong name and then I read back and like did he touch him

[00:13:01] where where are the doll that he touched you.

[00:13:05] Yeah it needs to be a little bit more like grouped together

[00:13:10] that what's going on.

[00:13:11] Yeah yeah it should be something like um like Frank's struggle against

[00:13:17] Joe's grip grabbing onto his wrist let go of me you know or like I'd even say like

[00:13:23] right before like the part with the cold metallics sheen like Frank looked down at

[00:13:28] at Joe's uh Joe's hand on his shoulder or something like that and then a cold metallic sheen

[00:13:33] slew the little uh yeah.

[00:13:34] Yeah and I'm okay with him grabbing him in the hand in the wrist to like a sort of dominance

[00:13:38] in all that but it just needs to be referenced back to the fact that yes he is being touched by

[00:13:44] him right now because I forgot.

[00:13:45] Yeah I definitely like I was like who's touching who right now?

[00:13:49] Yeah.

[00:13:53] Where did the bad man touch you?

[00:13:55] Yeah as you talk to the other bad man.

[00:13:59] Yes.

[00:14:00] It's a big story.

[00:14:02] Um but I'll yeah so I think we got there with that one

[00:14:07] uh but I'll move on to the next thing I have.

[00:14:11] Uh Joe slumped unhappily in his stool rubbing his sore wrist okay yeah okay one last drink credits

[00:14:19] no.

[00:14:21] Just I mean credits Joe's do you have here's a lot

[00:14:24] they basically they do one last drink like several times of this story yeah

[00:14:29] but yeah anyway yeah what last drink uh just just try to keep just try to control yourself would you

[00:14:34] for me Frank laughed only for you Joey now then let's see what do I want better make it something

[00:14:42] special since you're rushing me out over over here and what does that smell?

[00:14:48] Joe noticed it too the scent of fresh bloomed lilacs ever so subtly laced with something

[00:14:54] muskier so I initially thought so so first context for the start thing like these guys had just

[00:14:59] gotten out of this like gotten into this bar after getting kicked out of another bar for like

[00:15:05] tussling with like um uh what I assume is like somebody like like the boyfriend of another

[00:15:11] of a of a of a girl that they were flirting with.

[00:15:14] Yes and and and Joe describes or no Frank describes the the boyfriend as being like a like a flowery

[00:15:21] hippie kind of guy.

[00:15:22] Yes so when I got to this part I initially thought that this was about the previous guy they

[00:15:29] had encountered at the last bar but I guess it was more I guess it was more gona using perfume

[00:15:36] to disguise her true intentions or what have you like like basically like because when we see your

[00:15:42] next like the next time we see her after the bar she's in like military fatigue so like maybe

[00:15:46] that was hurt like she had like a muskier like it kind of like hiding her like more like military

[00:15:51] kind of like nature or militaristic nature like having the muskier thing or it could also be like

[00:15:57] that um more gona's perfume of lilac was covering the two or three goons that was slipping into

[00:16:01] the bar as well preparing for the ambush.

[00:16:04] Like but so it was like sort of because like originally I wasn't really sure where the story was

[00:16:10] going like I certainly didn't notice didn't really get uh didn't see the reveal happen when it did

[00:16:15] um I thought it was gonna be that something was it was like hunting or stalking these guys.

[00:16:21] Like Joe and Frank and thank you very much.

[00:16:25] I mean yeah you're right yeah absolutely um and also this this makes me wonder after reading the

[00:16:31] whole story and we'd find out that they were vampires is it now insinuated that they

[00:16:37] uh that they fed on that previous couple at the other bar like maybe that was like their last drink.

[00:16:44] Um I don't expect an answer from that but it's just some food for thought like

[00:16:50] was that actually like supposed like because again like there and I'm gonna get into that in my next

[00:16:53] bit because like my next bit I I have a tinfoil hat on 100%.

[00:16:59] Um also does this this is part here and also kind of include that like or kind of like hint

[00:17:06] that like they have a heightened sense of smell like vampires sometimes do.

[00:17:10] Like was this sort of like uh like a hint or like sort of a um

[00:17:15] uh clue.

[00:17:16] It's so subtly.

[00:17:18] Oh man and it's not until you read the very end of the story and you like get to the end of the

[00:17:22] story we're suddenly a bunch of things click at least for me that happened and I'm kind

[00:17:26] of actually gonna go into that next.

[00:17:28] I actually didn't go back to reread it.

[00:17:30] I honestly should have before that exact reason because if first read through it did not get

[00:17:36] okay yeah I didn't notice okay well I I did I have a lot of red string on a board.

[00:17:43] Nice to different quotes since or to different things in the story but like yeah so let's

[00:17:47] let's dive into my next quote and comment stuff which is kind of leaning into that bit.

[00:17:52] Um he could see Frank say something then to Joseph Mazement the woman's mouth curled into a wicked

[00:17:59] grin her eyes burning with lust filled with with lust filled desire as she hungrily stared at Frank

[00:18:06] she raised a single finger to it to the lips of a man standing next to her who had been oblivious

[00:18:14] or who'd been obliviously trying to carry on a conversation before grabbing Frank

[00:18:18] by the hand and pulling him behind her towards the restroom at the back of the bar.

[00:18:25] So at this point in the story I was like oh I get it that's why it's called one last drink now

[00:18:31] it's a double entendre she's definitely a vampire and she's going to drink Frank. Of course she is

[00:18:38] and at least that was my initial assumption mine too and then we got and then we got the the reversal

[00:18:46] uh that happens um upon it and upon it happening at the end of the story a few things started

[00:18:52] clicking in my brain from like a little details of what I just read so like the pulling of the teeth

[00:18:58] in the restroom or pulling of things um the duo's curfew from Boris I'm assuming their siring vampire

[00:19:07] was Boris like the basically Boris is their head vampire and like they want they had a curfew to

[00:19:12] get back to their coffins before morning yep um the drop of blood from the blood bag which initially

[00:19:20] was odd to me and made me think that the woman and her greens were still the vampires and they were

[00:19:24] just trying to like make new vampires maybe um and then even the fact that despite talking about it

[00:19:32] they never actually drink or eat regular food or or or or or drink despite being

[00:19:40] despite it always being present like he doesn't go for the peanuts he he eyes the peanuts

[00:19:47] or they talk about getting drinks but they and in like in that half hour that that Joe is waiting

[00:19:52] for Frank in the restroom he considers getting a drink and then never does

[00:19:57] and it was like was that because they don't actually eat or drink human food they're they were

[00:20:01] always it was always just uh sort of an innuendo about like getting a drink i.e.

[00:20:05] getting a person but he like Frank was wanting to order something is it just because like he

[00:20:11] wanted to order something to wait around for his last drink to show up I think so yeah

[00:20:18] oh and maybe maybe or maybe they even maybe they do drink like regular stuff but they don't like

[00:20:23] um yeah well he could have been drunk off of the off of a drunk person they drink

[00:20:28] oh yeah you're absolutely right because that does happen well in vampire fiction sometimes

[00:20:34] that happens like they get high on the on the on the person because the person was like yeah

[00:20:38] and I mentioned like the lilac smell earlier with uh of it basically like showing hinting at like a

[00:20:44] heightened vampiric sense of like senses and such and uh what do you what are you guys looking at me

[00:20:49] for that the tinfoil hats are all the rage right now leave me alone I know what you're talking about

[00:20:55] as I'm wearing the mask off exactly right they're very comfy yeah um but yeah it's it's a pretty

[00:21:02] cool twist to me overall like the whole like reverse vampire thing like we thought one person

[00:21:08] like one group was gonna be a vampire and then it turned out they were the hunters for the vampires

[00:21:12] um it also made me wonder if the poison that they injected Joe with was either like silver nitrate

[00:21:18] or garlic extract maybe yeah because it like it burned into it through his system and then he

[00:21:24] like so so badly that he just passed out like so like is it like sort of like I know in a lot of

[00:21:29] vampire fiction like silver nitrate or like those like garlic and stuff that is more of like kind

[00:21:33] of a bane and that like it basically just like it doesn't kill the vampire but it basically just like

[00:21:39] heavily weakened them and such it might literally just be a dose of the same sort of thing that you

[00:21:43] would inject a person with just way more yeah because like they are still flesh or it might even

[00:21:49] just yeah it might even just be like a regular like an actual like lethal poison but because

[00:21:54] their vampires it's not gonna kill them yeah like um or it could even be like a blood thinner or

[00:22:00] some like that um yeah one thing I don't get in regards to the blood though yeah when they're tied up

[00:22:07] and he's like I'm thirsty and then she hooks up like an IV bag to like drip blood on his tongue

[00:22:13] yeah and then he's like oh oh and he's like recoiling against it that threw me off a little bit

[00:22:18] yes the gag why would he be recoiling against it if he's a vampire yeah that's yeah like

[00:22:25] if it didn't if it didn't have the gag bar like that would still be fine like because it was like

[00:22:30] like it goes into like the the the rich and salty taste and so that's like well that's weird

[00:22:35] but like because it we like we still wouldn't really quite it would be like hit like slightly hinted

[00:22:41] at a little bit more until its final reveal where Morgana like um opens the the doors and lets

[00:22:48] the sun in and kill them um like that was a great such a fun like great moment of like when

[00:22:53] because I first I like until she like if it's so she let out the the rays of sun and I was like oh no

[00:22:58] they're vampires I still didn't think they were vampires even when she said like

[00:23:02] yet disposing of two two uh two worthless parasites or some of that I still thought they were basically

[00:23:08] just like two parasites like basically just two human killers yeah more like the two pieces of

[00:23:12] human garbage yeah I think that the the blood could have been handled better instead of him

[00:23:18] okay what's the wording on this because I'm focusing yeah I'm it's it I know he gagged at it hang on um

[00:23:24] there one last drink yeah no exactly like every time with this one like I think the one last

[00:23:31] drink is still a double entendre in this because like it starts off with like them and go into a beer for

[00:23:34] one last drink and then throughout the entire story we get like a double entendre or triple entendre

[00:23:40] pretty good of what it means yeah this says a few small drops of blood on the from the two

[00:23:45] one to Joe's tongue salty and so rich you almost gay oh maybe yeah it's white it's blood but

[00:23:53] you probably poured an entire like a bag of salt into it no I know um or you know what it's

[00:24:00] V8 actually no no no gamer actually blood does have a salty metallic taste and it is very good

[00:24:07] so rich I think that he gagged and if it's a vampire he wouldn't be gagging so a guy it's spiked

[00:24:15] oh wait he might still be gagging because it's just like so good I don't know yeah it's the virgin

[00:24:21] blood yeah oh okay no maybe I'd yeah but yeah one way I think that this could be handled better

[00:24:31] is like um if it was like Mats Klamado juice or V8 or something he's just like oh I hate V8

[00:24:39] should have had a V8 with a fucker yeah you even like matches like uh like she looks really like

[00:24:46] uh vitamin D deficient and stuff like that and it's like yeah again just like there's like tons

[00:24:51] a little nods that like they were there's vampires here uh I think I think you are right though the

[00:24:55] gagging part maybe there could be a better word for that like he almost like salty and so rich um

[00:25:05] uh maybe like he almost moaned like with like no because that yeah no because that immediately is

[00:25:13] like okay he's a vampire yeah it has to be something like he's doesn't like this but why

[00:25:21] he can't like it because yeah like it maybe because it's not he can't

[00:25:24] he can't hate it because it's blood it could be that like maybe yeah maybe or no it can't

[00:25:28] no it should be blood I think it should still be blood but like I think the reaction should be like

[00:25:33] because I think that I think what's trying to go for is um because he's like so parched and

[00:25:39] because maybe because of the uh maybe that that poison like drain like he needs blood now

[00:25:43] and so like even to get like a little bit of it like he's like it's sort of um like when you

[00:25:49] when you're in the desert for so long and you finally get water and you're just like

[00:25:52] you only get a few drops and like you're still like craving and like oh you're almost

[00:25:56] wretching from like just like the the little amount that you get I think there is a way to do it

[00:26:03] I just don't quite know how to how to fix this part but I do agree that it shouldn't be gagged

[00:26:13] I don't know even though it would put like a silly tinnish to it I personally think

[00:26:17] this should be gag oh I hate tomato juice yeah what about choked

[00:26:25] it's yeah you know no yeah yeah yeah he choked on yeah yeah I would say that too yeah

[00:26:31] I don't know if you choke from it dropping onto your tongue like dripping

[00:26:36] like it's not like she dumped a a glass of it down his throat it's literally like an IV drip

[00:26:43] yeah it's a small drop a few small drops bled from the tube onto Joe's tongue salty and so rich

[00:26:50] he almost choked um I mean if you're that parched then like maybe that is your reaction

[00:26:55] I don't know I'm not a doctor I don't know what how what happens when like you haven't gotten

[00:27:01] like water after being like super dehydrated but it is like like I you definitely get

[00:27:07] with it with the trying to do in this but it's just like

[00:27:09] it's you gotta find that balance of like how to like because at this point we're still not sure

[00:27:16] what the hell is going on yeah and you can't give it away yeah not quite yet yeah not yet

[00:27:22] I still love that like I can say it was even after she says like the two par like two more god

[00:27:27] for sake in parasites I was like what's going on and then like she facing east the light of

[00:27:33] the morning sun streamed into the doorway on to and then like oh shit they're vampires

[00:27:38] that's what it hit me that they were the vampires yeah you pretty much have one for me

[00:27:47] but uh I mean that's that's all my actual thoughts honestly

[00:27:51] um so so Mikey these stands for evil

[00:27:55] so

[00:27:58] well my actual thoughts is that originally as I was reading this I thought it was stupid

[00:28:07] because it's just two guys in a bar getting one last drink like what special about that

[00:28:16] mundane yeah you're mundane before you've been reading

[00:28:22] yeah yeah well and I mean they're womanizers because they went after the guys girlfriend

[00:28:28] and then they're doing after the most beautiful woman in the room and I mean I'm not gonna lie

[00:28:36] I even even from like the get go like she was like like by the end of that first page

[00:28:40] of the story I was like okay these guys I hope these guys die

[00:28:43] this is what we do right yeah Joe do you do anything wrong yeah

[00:28:47] Joe Joe's that's yeah yeah honestly I was like Joe get the fuck out get away from this guy

[00:28:53] this guy's toxic spot yeah um but then like and then like but like I definitely thought we were

[00:28:58] gonna like have like a revenant situation where they get stalked by their by their by a previous

[00:29:02] victim kind of thing I was I just was not expecting the vampire plot until like much and then

[00:29:09] and then even when like the the tether game pulls like oh I guess it's like maybe they

[00:29:12] they fucked with a mob hit or like with a with the mafia make maybe they're just it's normal torture

[00:29:17] procedure yeah and then like they're talking like they have to get back because Boris tells them

[00:29:22] they have a curfew it's like oh maybe they are members of like a crime crime group or something

[00:29:26] like that and so like this is like a arrival group that's hitting them or something it was like

[00:29:31] it's like everything that should be giving away that it's a vampire your first thought

[00:29:38] is just the mundane version because like these are all reasonable things happening

[00:29:44] yeah and then these exist and then when it's revealed that it was vampires are like oh everything

[00:29:49] makes sense now yeah it all clicked yeah well I mean so you were like oh I hate it like it's

[00:29:59] gonna be all Monday and like these two assholes yeah the true creepypasta

[00:30:06] yeah the banality the banality and skiviness of man

[00:30:13] so braska yeah oh god this is street love braska

[00:30:23] anyway the vampires are street level braska

[00:30:27] interesting braska no no no no no the the the leading up to the before we got the

[00:30:33] the the thing of that they were vampires everything else like it was basically like it was sort of like

[00:30:37] like a much more small when I say street view or street level i mean like it's like very small

[00:30:43] like contained setup yes um kind of just found it funny that the supernatural angle was the

[00:30:49] street level and the mundane one was not street level honestly i feel i feel like i would i

[00:30:55] feel both better and cheated if vampires had been the been like the masterminds behind braska

[00:31:03] because like braska is fucked up and creepy for its own reasons because it's mundane

[00:31:09] like they have that that safety blanket of like it's something there's something supernatural involved

[00:31:13] like yeah it would ruin it like i i would feel initially like happy but then at the same time

[00:31:18] i think it's like well this is like i'm no longer like realistically scared or like disturbed

[00:31:23] but that's that's a different that's the series you've already covered yes um back to one last drink

[00:31:29] yeah so continuing on um so that this story just has subtle hints which is good because then when

[00:31:45] you get to the reveal at the end you like you said you it's not revealed early on that the

[00:31:52] protagonist are vampires but they were but the hints are there right if you would back on it

[00:31:59] yeah well and the hints are there and thinking back on it that's what makes a good story

[00:32:08] yeah because of the fact that you read it once and then you have this oh well that's interesting

[00:32:16] and then you read it again and then you basically have a fresh set of eyes on it reading through

[00:32:24] a second time catching all the little bits here and there that you might have missed yeah or

[00:32:31] you didn't realize the implications um like uh that chick's boyfriend is gonna be pissed after what

[00:32:42] you pulled and i'm not totally sure they didn't follow us here so that takes the implication that

[00:32:49] he drained her yeah yeah yeah but they yeah he drank the the girl and now she's like they're

[00:32:55] they think the boyfriends gonna seek revenge if they don't yeah and then the other one or another

[00:33:03] example is yeah you know how pissed Boris gets when we miss curfew it's getting late and if we don't

[00:33:11] get back soon we're gonna be toast yeah exactly like that kind of stuff i totally i do think like oh

[00:33:24] a Boris is clearly they're siring vampire or like the the guy in charge of their their their

[00:33:29] covener whatever but i did not even real i didn't even like think back on like on like the

[00:33:35] the dial on the text yeah that's so good oh yeah all right 10 10 yeah

[00:33:50] yeah uh so that that's into my actual thoughts god damn it that's so good

[00:33:56] oh

[00:33:57] uh guys what are you

[00:33:59] nation oh man it's just that was so cosmic we're like like like oh like we're we're toast

[00:34:06] uh oh like holy shit

[00:34:11] uh yes that's what i was saying like so so we all had we all had 10 foil hats on at the end of

[00:34:15] this yeah yeah uh like i wasn't the only one with red string dotting different quotes

[00:34:21] yeah i did most of the work you guys but you guys definitely filled in some gaps yeah

[00:34:29] wow amazing

[00:34:32] um but yeah gamer uh your your actual thoughts

[00:34:36] what do i have left to talk about it we did have some pretty decent conversations and

[00:34:41] well when it was yeah yeah literally all i can say left now is just like i liked the twist um

[00:34:49] when i first saw more ganna i was like she's pale super attractive wearing all black

[00:34:56] she's a vampire and then her more gana's name and i'm like okay her name is more gana she's a vampire

[00:35:03] vampire yeah only vampires have old names like that

[00:35:10] straight up but yeah no not at all she's actually she's not vampire she's a vampire hunter

[00:35:16] um i mean that might not even be a real name bro yeah i mean it might be but yeah

[00:35:23] but yeah it was covered up so good oh god it makes me yeah sorry no go ahead no

[00:35:29] it makes me wonder if margana fontaine is gonna be a recurring character in like other

[00:35:33] wicker saga stories yeah i kind of hope she does the vampire hunter she just could be a monster hunter

[00:35:40] yeah go because this world is just full of gods and monsters so

[00:35:47] yeah i wouldn't be against it that being said

[00:35:52] if this happens again we'll lightning strike twice in the same spot true yeah it might be better to

[00:35:58] just leave it you know yeah just have this be like a standalone yeah because if you dip back into

[00:36:02] it and it doesn't have the same first off if we see more ganna show up again we're gonna know

[00:36:10] but we're off but no yeah yeah i don't think i don't want them to pull the same try and pull the same

[00:36:14] thing but it would be really cool like it's like it's like if this character shows up to help one

[00:36:18] of the other characters in one of the other stories um like that's like tied to like the main plot

[00:36:22] of wicker saga uh and it's like what's your name it's like call me miss fontaine i was like oh

[00:36:29] yeah that's gonna be my reaction indeed

[00:36:34] yeah really don't have much to talk about aside from final part of this point honestly

[00:36:41] yeah no that's yeah that's that's a great segue because that is honestly reading this like my

[00:36:46] a lot of my notes were like several after facts it's like all right i need to find something

[00:36:51] to talk about it was it i think it's one problem with good stories is when is like when we read the good

[00:36:59] story a story that we all like or that like at least like i than i like i'm like i don't have a

[00:37:05] whole lot to like comment on because usually it's like i do like to give praise where praises do but

[00:37:11] like that only goes so far how about gaming fodder you didn't talk about gaming fodder i mean

[00:37:15] gaming fodder god like this is hunter the reckoning this is you could use this in the esoterica

[00:37:22] all right not so not esoterica esoteric is hell you could this is there's a there's actually a gumshoe

[00:37:28] horror system that you can do this perfectly for called night's black agents where you play as

[00:37:34] Jason born style espionage characters going up against the vampire conspiramed

[00:37:39] so like maybe the maybe you could play as like um like a cell that's like under morgana trying to

[00:37:46] take down boris's covenant or something like that like maybe the like this is there the intro bit

[00:37:51] and then you go into like the actual like net like work like uh um the actual like legwork of

[00:37:57] hunting down the rest of boris's clan or whatever um also this kind of feels like it could be like

[00:38:03] swimming in like monster the week like basically take your pick of like horror game systems and

[00:38:09] like this could easily be done in that yes um yeah like this is just a straight up like fun

[00:38:16] uh vampire vampire vampire hunter thing um and actually to dive into my final thoughts for this so

[00:38:25] i obviously i'm gonna recommend this story still um it's it's pretty short but i really enjoyed

[00:38:33] the reversal of expectations and the reveal um sort of reminds me honestly um not like oh this is

[00:38:42] just clearly a ripoff but it reminds me in the same vein as a lot of the story lines in the vhs

[00:38:47] found footage anthology movies where like it like there's that you think it's gonna be one thing

[00:38:54] and then it kind of flips the dots head of being something else in a in a horror way i was like oh

[00:38:59] shit i didn't wasn't expecting that and that's pretty cool there's like two or three stories

[00:39:03] specifically that i like kind of come to mind um that i feel like like this story would actually be

[00:39:09] right at home in the um uh in the vhs like found footage series if it was like converted into a

[00:39:16] found footage film um yeah that's that's my final thoughts and recommendations like i will

[00:39:22] 100% recommend the story um mickey these stands for evil um yeah so continuing on it starts off

[00:39:37] Monday and then you sort of learn to hate the characters but you're thinking where's the supernatural

[00:39:43] on this and then it because it's so subtle in the hints that you think it's just a couple of dudes

[00:39:52] in a bar and one of them is about to get lucky uh in the bathroom know this yeah and you're waiting

[00:39:58] for the supernatural thing to pound something basically yeah you're hoping for something like that

[00:40:03] happened yeah yeah and then it turns out there were vampires all along and then it flips the story

[00:40:13] on a head um and uh makes it so that the story itself is worth a second read so that you can

[00:40:24] notice all the little hints here and there that you likely missed the first time or act yeah um

[00:40:34] so that's something that i tend to like in stories is when you read something and then you go oh

[00:40:42] i better go back and reread that and go oh so that's more detail that you can fill in with the

[00:40:51] detail they already know yeah with the context that you have suddenly yeah details that open up

[00:40:58] and it's not enough that it's like oh man i have to read it again it's like hell yeah i have to read

[00:41:03] it yeah yeah it's not gonna take a whole it's not gonna take a whole day to reread it it's like

[00:41:09] imagine if you not to bring up barasker again but we read read all the way through the

[00:41:14] brats fuck me oh no i gotta reread the whole thing so god i mean like yeah honestly Mikey i was kind of

[00:41:24] with you like uh in a kind of a such similar situation early on because i don't know if it was just

[00:41:29] because like the mood i'd been in this week or like just like the like just not having the time to

[00:41:35] to read a story uh up until like the time i got to read the story we're like the first couple

[00:41:39] like the first page or two i was just like okay this is really mundane like where's this going

[00:41:43] and then by the time i was done it's like i gotta read this again i wish i did yeah yeah so that

[00:41:53] things said i'm still going to recommend this all right we need to spite that

[00:41:59] it should be like and with that said it should be but

[00:42:09] but um yeah gamer uh your your final verdict man i didn't like this one i know it's it's

[00:42:16] pre-euh yeah it's pretty sure yeah i didn't agree at all but no joking aside um i did enjoy the

[00:42:26] read who's short to the point that twist got me very little errors grammatically like we had

[00:42:33] that this episode is so short because we have nothing to talk about to expand it because it doesn't

[00:42:40] need expansion there's not enough grammar problems to like um suggest ways to fix it there's not

[00:42:47] enough like plot holes and other stuff to try to fix it it's just go down its own and yeah this is

[00:42:52] really just like kind of a like highlight of the store of of this is a spotlighting a show or

[00:42:58] or spot lighting a story i mean i don't want to like jump the gun here but it's up there

[00:43:07] it's right up there with who was there oh my god but it is legend i know right

[00:43:13] who was phoed one less that or one last drink that's what it is it's the title

[00:43:24] three words and a good story oh my god you're right yeah

[00:43:29] so who won who his phone is on the goal is at the top is uh is that the gold of cars

[00:43:34] and then one last drink i guess is got the silver yeah wow i mean okay that's

[00:43:42] for a broska again but broska is also really good i mean yeah you're right but yeah like i mean

[00:43:46] in terms of like a really like like think of here's the thing about create like here's the thing about

[00:43:50] creepostas like i find the best ones are the shorter ones because like as long as they are

[00:43:58] yeah the most digestible ones are like tend to be the best ones like there's a reason why like

[00:44:03] there's actually a growing trend right now of like two sentence or one sentence or hell uh like

[00:44:09] um tweet a horror story where like using only those words like the show if you can you can really

[00:44:16] capture something horror based in like in a short order then you've won yeah whereas i think

[00:44:23] we've come to find sometimes not all the time obviously but sometimes the longer you prolong a

[00:44:28] series or like if you make this story into a full series sometimes it kind of hurts the the

[00:44:35] the momentum or the the the creep factor for sure case in point um or head yeah not and

[00:44:42] again not to throw shade at more head but like yeah me i i preferred the first couple and then it

[00:44:49] more went on the more i just wasn't into it yeah for other stories we've read other long-ass

[00:44:55] stories that we like the whole way through it's a case by case basis we have really this yeah

[00:45:00] yeah and it's all personal opinion of course too because what i like is someone else i hate

[00:45:06] what i hate everyone else i like the point at case in point look at our show

[00:45:12] yeah most times we do not disagree we do not agree all the time on on whether or not the story is

[00:45:19] worth recommending or not and such so i'm like this is one of those rare cases where we are in

[00:45:25] full sync it's see we're all was a drift compatible yeah yeah yeah we all get the we have all three

[00:45:32] of us get to get the pilot get the pilot a jager nice anyway that was yeah jager was was

[00:45:42] Lars Larsen's Norwegian L count in in the Mistborn campaign at one less die what you said we could

[00:45:53] pilot a jager god damn it all right moving okay okay we're we're sliding away from like okay

[00:46:01] right this is my final thoughts yeah i know you're squeaking it's too good and too short that i have to

[00:46:08] pad this yeah that's the problem yeah um i don't need to say more I like long story short all of us

[00:46:21] recommend it yeah check it out shout out swimmer 77 you did good we love you this is awesome

[00:46:32] but yeah um i guess that'll do it for this week's episode uh so if you like what you heard or if
