[00:00:00] Oh, hello, and welcome to Adente Rigmodus. I'm Review Cultist.

[00:00:22] I'm Mikey, the East End Cerebral.

[00:00:25] And I'm deciding I'm not going to do a half-assed job and actually just follow through with either a black or white option. But yeah, let's find out why we gave such complex initial recommendations.

[00:01:42] Starting with the rundown.

[00:01:44] Featuring Katie.

[00:01:45] Or Caitlyn. Museum exhibit showing 14th century Judeo-Christian artifacts. In this exhibit, she finds the statue itself, slightly altered in pose, smack dab in the middle display, and among so many ignorant tourists and visitors. So, oh, she soon learns that a young man, similar found it in the woods, and after Jameson tried to destroy it himself, to no avail. Apparently the demon named Metaraxis, if not appeased, will not only devour the person, but everything in reality about that person, and even the city they live in, with all the

[00:04:23] people they're in. Eager to be done with it. I hadn't bother to ask where to find room 217 So welcome to my tense talk. I hadn't bothered to ask like these a ed at the end of bother or didn't bother Yeah, I didn't bother. Yeah, I didn't bother or I hadn't bothered that either one would go. Yeah

[00:05:43] And then the next one and

[00:06:45] Yeah, pretty much. Okay. I did remember stumbling over it as well. Yeah, for a second. I was like am I in the nitpick nook?

[00:06:48] You have to tell me if i'm the nitpick nook

[00:06:51] You normally put yourself in there we never put yeah

[00:06:57] Well, it's just from all the glaring that you guys give me this is like really really review called us really

[00:07:00] glaring through the internet Yes, I can I can feel it

[00:07:03] Yes, I can feel it through the through the airwaves

[00:08:13] Yeah, I want to preface a lot of my my these grammar positions are really like I am just I acknowledge that they're very simple like mistakes that like when you're typing really fast like you sometimes just do like a typo or you miss a word and stuff with that. So I'm not really docking the story points for it, although there are a lot of these mistakes and I'm surprised didn't go through like a round of editing and get caught before it was posted.

[00:08:23] Yep.

[00:08:24] But did you have something in gamer?

[00:08:27] No, actually, I double checked it in. No. double no uh no it's uh what the heck like so i read like this came up like one during the like the the guide of the museum it's like what the hell is it docent and then i looked it up um noun uh so the first first uh description is uh in certain universities and colleges a member of the teaching staff immediately below professional rank but the second one's really i think the more

[00:10:43] I fully admit I was writing this story in a Google Doc. So it automatically gives me like squiggly lines underneath.

[00:10:47] So.

[00:10:47] You get the cheat codes.

[00:10:48] Yeah.

[00:10:50] But there were a few of these that I was like,

[00:10:52] there are, I will say also,

[00:10:53] there's a few times that the squiggly lines

[00:10:55] don't work for me.

[00:10:56] Like they, I was like, no, that seems right.

[00:10:58] Like based on my history on,

[00:11:00] in creative writing and such, but I shall move on.

[00:12:08] gifts of everlasting youth and resilience. So yeah. Don't add an and or but it was like very indecisive. It was like and or but. Yeah. Porque las nos. Or porque las dos. No.

[00:12:19] Moving on to the next thing I have. This would have happened many times over the centuries.

[00:13:24] be a would so it's like would have oh yeah yeah I was like so maybe even a turn of its head it would be on the museum security tapes or like you said

[00:13:30] it would have it would have been oh what no or that yes yeah it would have been

[00:13:36] on the security tapes yeah and then the these the exhibits going to New York next month yep by the stories timeline so yeah that is the end of my grammar inquisition there were quite a few of them they were all fairly minor

[00:15:02] but there were numerous yeah so over the flyer. We'll get the flyer? Yeah, it's hard to tell.

[00:16:20] Probably the flyer, the brochure, whatever it is. I rolled my eyes and easy Christian gray is italicized so that's or More an internal thought as opposed to what we've been getting on plaques and stuff Also plaques are also internal thought because that's for reading them Yeah, I I Feel like I kind of on Mikey side

[00:17:41] like I feel like if you're gonna use italics for like a lot of the signage and stuff that or for like the

[00:18:46] Basically the whole problem is italics are annoying because you don't see them half the time and they have a thousand uses.

[00:18:48] Yeah, they're literary ninjas.

[00:18:50] Yeah, meanwhile, you would think I would like them for that, but no.

[00:18:54] No, they're the bad ninjas.

[00:18:57] Yeah.

[00:18:58] I guess it's not literary.

[00:19:00] I guess it's like format ninjas because like I would consider like bold and bolding and And it is amazingly stupid. Loved it. All right. So of it which is kind and suffering a sore back. but not very good life. And if Lannenberg was still there, that meant the creature hadn't made it that far yet. But it hadn't claimed Lannenberg yet. Or was it just slowly moving?

[00:24:22] And yet, what I was looking for. It was well past noon and I had stopped at a small cafe to eat a sandwich. Or maybe because it was the only piece of litter I had seen all morning.

[00:26:49] in the middle. It was larger than I remembered, but every detail of its face and body was exactly as I'd remembered, though it was positioned differently now. But now it was positioned

[00:26:59] as if ready to leap off the stone square that it and I couldn't read those many years ago. And then I saw what I didn't know I'd been looking for on his offer. They sang his songs, built his temples, and created beautiful artwork in his likeness, such as the one in your museum, to praise the demon and reap his gifts.

[00:30:45] And for our efforts, the statue has remained dormant. It won't be destroyed by any tools of may.

[00:30:51] And believe me, Caitlin, I paid dearly for my attempts.

[00:30:57] Almost everything I love is gone.

[00:31:00] And just how did you escape the creature when it came for you? lying to me about something or would he say I was stupid for risking my life Wow that was it was it was basically a synopsis like a a like a sort of like

[00:32:22] stream of consciousness like synopsis of the story itself yet still longer than Like I was trying to keep up with the with as you were reading them Like I had to skim down a couple of pages Yeah, but uh when I when I read it's like yeah That butt does not need to be there at all. It can just be as is like without the butt Like it doesn't even need a however, right? Just remove the butt Um, but yeah, uh, I suppose we'll move on to ted the gamers, uh gamer in yellow

[00:33:45] Or sorry grammar in yellow

[00:34:45] Pennsylvania who's from that area or if the Susquehanna actually exists because actually I didn't check that I checked a bunch of other things I checked other I checked a bunch of other things in my actual thoughts geographically for the story

[00:34:49] But I did not check if the Susquehanna was an actual or if Harrisburg was an actual place. I probably should have done that

[00:35:03] What is it Harrisburg? Yes, at least Harrisburg. Okay. This next one is right after it. The next sentence literally. I'd really have to take their word for it. Period. I had researched a lot of Pennsylvania townships in the last year, but this wasn't one of them. So again, that first sentence is just kind of tiny. And I feel like it

[00:36:23] could be connected because they're talking about the same thing. Just a simple comma in between And that's it for my grammar. All right. Well, we'll move on to actual thoughts then. Gonna start with this one here. At least the creature hadn't made its way here. This city had a population of around 50,000, but how many other cities with similar populations were gone because of me?

[00:37:42] It wasn't something I wanted an answer to. same direction to go after is like the demon like gets there and then it like senses that she's like traveling across the like like by plane like across like overhead and just like oh come on well i'll just do another buffet run yeah tell the central part of Pennsylvania it's actually closer to Philadelphia it's between Chester and you wantentially. So when that's gone, the next one is that now. Yeah, I actually even had that. I actually even had that excuse in brackets in my notes. Unless the demon has wiped it from reality and reality has just reconfigured state infrastructure.

[00:41:41] It's like, no, it's always been between Chester

[00:41:43] and that other place.

[00:42:44] or New York state or, or, I mean, I'm even like, again, neglecting the fact that like we live up in Canada and so that we are the far North, but like in, for the States, like

[00:42:49] far North for them would probably be like New York state, Ohio. Maybe, maybe not Ohio.

[00:42:54] Well, Alaska.

[00:42:55] New York.

[00:42:56] Alaska.

[00:42:57] Yeah, exactly. Yeah.

[00:42:58] Alaska.

[00:42:59] Alaska.

[00:43:00] Yeah, exactly. Yeah. Put the, I like, I was like, I was like trying to say cuz it's like I mean maybe cuz she's looking suspicious maybe yeah I mean again you just look like a an introverted college kid which is not that far-fetched strangely enough that look like it while they they used the a lot of kids use that look to be like to identify themselves as like a like step like to kind of like isolate themselves they

[00:44:22] really just kind of conform to a certain, like ask people or even like come up with like cover stories and so on. Like I feel like at the very least she like, yeah. And but like everything that we've gotten so far kind of speaks the opposite because she like memorized down maps of this place. Like, and like she's like figure trying to figure out where the, where like missing towns are. It's like, did she honestly not expect to like meet people and

[00:45:42] like ask questions like, like, Oh, have you heard of this the demon only had eyes for her. So, uh, yeah. Oh, it's like star cross lovers. I wish. Yeah. I'm continuing on though. Uh, not the 12 feet. I had guessed it was close. It was actually closer to 20, but every detail of its face and body was

[00:47:02] exactly as I'd remembered, though it was positioned differently now.

[00:47:06] So like, yeah, basically there's just hard time like before in the first part of the first part of this story When they were kids and they saw the monsters like face and it was like horrible beyond words Like I could barely describe it except it had horns and stuff like that. I could let it pass but in this case It was like It like is it just a dull expression this thing has is it like just like a yawning mouth for a face or is

[00:48:21] Yeah, like is there a gap where a face should be on the creature? Yeah, I saw it as a slender man with horns

[00:49:29] that ruined it for us but yeah yeah especially since like she's describing like now that I could see it in full like it was light and some of that it

[00:49:32] wasn't that scary it was just blah blah blah I was like okay so like you can

[00:49:36] actually give us more description now right you're gonna give us more

[00:49:39] description now right like it's like like An description, please. And it kind of goes into the from the previous story as well. But like, I any number of like Cthulhu slash horror systems like Esoterrorist fear itself like just having a having a group of like wizard Yeah. In a way, I get why they're showing it off at the museum. Like, it's an exhibit they feel they can keep under control with these wards. And let's face it, this is the piece that's going to draw people into the museum. This was, I wrote this before I realized that I found out that Jamison was like,

[00:53:40] like, super in the know. Like, so this was like, I thought the

[00:53:43] museum, like some people in being just stored in the woods somewhere, like you have proper security here where unless you're giving it to like the SCP Foundation, exactly. Yeah,

[00:55:01] security than this.

[00:55:02] Yeah, like unless there's a foundation like or an

[00:55:04] organization, sort of like Jameson, like I knew that name, but from where? As our group began to move out of the room, I took one last look at the creature, Metaraxis, and shuddered. Its eyes had never strayed from me. I took my phone out and pulled up Wikipedia on Jameson Scott.

[00:56:21] I had to know who could be this stupid. clearly Jamie. Yeah. It has to be. And like even like later on like like it was like who'd you lose is like she she or like and then like I was like how how'd you lose her is like I pushed her like I uh I pushed her away or something like that it's like so like yeah Jamie when he was younger like that's why he didn't go to see her like that's like he pushed her away to get her out

[00:57:41] of the town and stuff like that and yeah yeah so it's like pretty much all but confirmed I just had this really interesting thought so the demon devours a person and all that they were in reality and only the demon remembers them but what if the reason Katie is now Caitlin and

[00:59:03] assuming this Jamie is now Jameson a Yeah, okay, this quote here. At some point in history, metatraxis grew tired of being unknown and unworshipped. He proclaimed that those who prayed to him and brought him sacrifice would not only be spared but also be given gifts of everlasting youth and resilience.

[01:00:20] So that's how Katie and Jamie survived. You know, yeah, ship it around to some places to kind of like keep it away from centers, but he's literally putting it in New York City. Yeah, yeah, or or like basically Jamie can be rewarded with like good god demon, but I guess or something or or maybe like I just thought so like just like it just clicked

[01:01:40] right now.

[01:01:41] Katie has been saying this entire time like she's It's very weird. It feels like Jamie is both like there's two sides of this coin like it's either going to be that Jamie has been using matraxis to gain like wealth and power and some of that like or He's been telling that he's been telling the whole truth that he is actually keeping it at bay because he can't destroy it

[01:03:01] And maybe he's getting some kind of boon as a result of that

[01:04:04] And all that from like James and Scott I'd heard that name. It's Jamie

[01:04:11] The name got dropped I'm like, oh so it's Jamie your childhood friend, of course

[01:04:19] Scott I knew that name but from where and I wrote down your friend from childhood course and then later on it's like He was young my age

[01:04:22] But the Wikipedia page has no picture

[01:04:24] So there's no picture on this popular and important man because yeah well the other thing is that she has encountered the demon before so what if part of her self has So the reason she doesn't remember the name is because both of them have forgotten each other. Oh, I mean, that could be it, yeah. Also, I don't mean to- She remembers him though. Yeah, she does remember Jamie.

[01:07:00] Also-

[01:07:01] She just remembers the name Jamie, but-

[01:07:04] Doesn't remember-

[01:07:05] It's in the years.

[01:07:07] Yeah.

[01:07:08] And doesn't know. Fair. I recall a few friends that I do not remember their last name. Well, I had to remember last names because some of my friends, there was other people with in the third part of the story. Also, with how early Jameson Scott's name is dropped and how early I'm like, okay, it's probably Jamie. Yeah. And then I read through the entire story

[01:09:40] and I put an edit at the end of this saying,

[01:09:42] oh my God, they want the whole entry

[01:09:43] without revealing this, fuck.

[01:09:45] Yeah, I know, right?

[01:09:46] I was wondering if as I got to say what sort of guy and she's just staring them down and such it's ridiculous but I guess like maybe she just she's just had it so she doesn't care what happens to her and she's just so she and now that because of that she's like can be a little more cavalier about her whole situation so and then the last thing I have for my

[01:12:21] actual thoughts is that fucking plan of hers at the end so gonna just go with Technically, we don't know that but like it really aside from unless there's like gonna be a surprise like reveal that like He's like actually working with metaraxis or something like that It really felt like he's doing it seems like he's doing everything he can to stop this thing from like getting out and and That is well again Maybe it has maybe it does it does actually desire to be like moved to like and get adoration from other people and so on

[01:13:46] so but Yeah, that's the other thing. Yeah, I just like, I just kept thinking, I'm gonna save, I'm gonna show him the danger that he's putting these people into by putting all these people in danger. It is pretty dumb. It's a really dumb supervillain sort of thinking.

[01:15:00] Like when the villain doesn't think that they're the supervillain? Jameson has been spending that time researching and getting in contact with her, no. It's like, and like during that 13 years, she also ended up like becoming an alcoholic, a drug user and a bartender. And so meanwhile, and getting- There weren't performances and a bartender. Yeah, no offense to that, but it's just like, she did nothing to try and stop the situation

[01:16:21] except to get the fuck away from it.

[01:16:23] Meanwhile, Jamie's out there who's lost the town he lived in

[01:16:27] because this girl from like over a summer in drama. Yeah, it's like I kind of worry that like this. That's one of my worries for the end of the story is that it's gonna end up that like the disaster was completely preventable if Katie wasn't in the picture. Yeah. I kind of wish in the second story it's swapped to Jamie as the perspective. Yeah, that would have been really interesting. He's doing all

[01:17:42] the good work and then Katie shows up here is something I had to look up.

[01:19:03] So the quote here, easy Christian Grey. wants to go to our patreon no i don't even care if we get if somebody like puts a patreon in to ask us to do it i am not doing it hard veto it's true horror though i'm willing to do vampires i'm not willing to do torture dungeons okay yeah torture dungeon like uh smut fan fiction

[01:20:22] you gotta have your limits exactly you're using your safe word right now

[01:21:24] So it's basically like an author's link to the first one. So yeah

[01:21:29] Okay. Yeah, the story is actually a trilogy of three short stories

[01:21:39] And that's the end of my actual thoughts, okay Ted the gamer what do I have left? Let's see

[01:21:45] Eager to be done with it. I don't really care that she just called it the creature before but the layout of that sentence is Like she just said a proper name for it. Yeah It is very very odd Yeah granted it gets a cool name later. So that's fine. Yeah, I didn't I did not look up to see if metaraxis was in

[01:23:03] any of like demonology, I assume it's fictionalized because

[01:24:07] Um, the quote is it could technically give life in the process of filling in the whole of previous existence, but not very good life.

[01:24:13] The fun in these spots was weaker and for dull, almost muted coloring.

[01:24:16] Personally, I like this explanation.

[01:24:17] Yeah. I don't know if we straight up said whether we liked it or not, but I really do.

[01:24:21] I don't think it's very good for immersion purposes too, because like you could be driving down a road and see a sick patch of plant life beside you and think nothing of it.

[01:25:27] I hope we get through the entire thing with no GPS's even though it's referenced every time yeah, it's it's the it's a It's like a reverse

[01:25:34] It's a reverse checkouts gun every time a GPS it's it's uh

[01:25:43] It's like more like 20. It's like well. It has eaten a couple of cities true It's a growing demon Yeah, that might actually just be the case yeah, I thought it might have just been like

[01:27:02] Just like

[01:27:04] Unreliable memories basically maybe an environment and it was dark. You know I wouldn't put a pass me though. Oh, he's fine. Anyway, that's the end of my notes because I chipped in on everything else. Okay, well, let's move on to final thoughts. So I really liked it. The investigation, searching and like meeting of Jameson and like going to the investigation

[01:28:21] with the museum, the, the, all the ancient race was keeping the star weird at bay and drained waiting for the time when it was right to use a lightsaber to cut it down and kill it for good. Which is the whole reason that you were sent out to consequences of these actions next episode. Yeah. But what's the next one called like? It's called the death of deep wood. Oh yeah. That's about right. What the CCC is doing. Yeah, basically. Yeah. So with all that said,

[01:31:01] though, I will still recommend this, even though it does need some work editing wise like grammar an interesting story but for me it's only a nearby town's jail because I erased the previous town.

[01:33:43] So Landerburg doesn't exist anymore.

[01:33:48] Yeah, so And Ted the gamer. I'm going to leave it as a partial still because like the story started out well enough. But as soon as the story beat me over the head with like what's going to happen and where Jamie is, I found I was simply reading to just try to get to the point where Katie realizes that.

[01:35:00] And then she did it.

[01:35:02] Amy there and it bugs the hell out of me.

[01:35:04] You got you got narrative blue balls.

[01:35:07] I really did.

[01:35:08] I hated it. interest in symbology and ancient artifacts. You happen to also lose some feminine friend from your town that was wiped. It's all just coincidence. Her name was Sarah. Of course it was Sarah. But yeah um... Where the hell was that bugging me. Sorry. I know I'm kicking speaking of kicking dead horses I know like so the other thing that kind of caught me was her name was Caitlyn and she went by it for for a Minute at the beginning of the story. I thought she was going by like an alias because

[01:37:40] Katie in the first part was K AT

[01:37:44] it was started with a K and

[01:38:45] like half erased from reality. Or like haphazardly like put back on. With different names. Like if they are these this they're both the same characters.

[01:38:50] Oh my god.

[01:38:50] I think it's all explained.

[01:38:52] Yeah.

[01:38:52] If it's not explained why they're using different names it's gonna bug the hell out of me too.

[01:38:56] Well again it could just be like like we said like it could just be as mundane as like.

[01:39:00] That's their actual name.

[01:39:01] Their kid that when they were kids they called each other Katie and Jamie.

[01:39:04] Now that they're young adults they're Caitlyn and Jamesison were suddenly formed. Yeah, because like right after the event, Katie immediately bailed with her family. Yeah, they left a few days earlier too, in fact. They left a few days earlier than scheduled, in fact. Yes, but because Jamie stayed there,

[01:40:20] like the possession or whatever the hell's going on

[01:40:23] or recreation of him could actually take hold properly.

[01:40:27] But for her it was only like it in my, in my cup. Is it a cup? Bucket? like, yeah. Yeah, it's very weird. I didn't want to put a bunch of numbers and underscores and shit in it, so I tried something different. Okay. And I'm at Review Cultist. That's why I have to explain that every time. I know. It's very odd. Yeah. And Review Cultist is also on Blue Sky where I also post and retweet various creepypasta

[01:43:04] things and spooky things. I'm Ted the Gamer. And this has been, Aldente Rigamortis. Sleep well. Oh geez oh geez don't happen actually happened There was uh, I went to pick her up and she did not like that so she just Just started going down the stairs She's fine

[01:45:42] Your joke almost became real

[01:45:44] But like well because there's a couple like over the weekend like she tried going down the stairs and she
