Today's Rollup Characters:

[00:00:15] Hello, welcome to the Rolepoint Exchange. This is Adam and today we're doing a row up. Now this row up is for, I think the system may have came out about two years ago or so. I backed it on Kickstarter back in the day. And at the lower level, got the PDF, got to play it at Gen Con last year, and I went out and bought a hard copy of the book. And that game is Everyday Heroes.

[00:00:41] And joining me today are my illustrious co-hosts.

[00:00:45] This is Jeremy.

[00:00:47] And this is Nick.

[00:00:48] Nick, I got to tell you about Jeremy real quick. I mean, I don't mean to talk shit with him here, but I got to tell you this real quick.

[00:00:54] You feel free.

[00:00:56] So we were at Gen Con 2023. And I did, as I mentioned, play Everyday Hero and I signed up to play the version of this game for The Crow.

[00:01:08] Because that's kind of the cool thing about Everyday Heroes when they were kickstarting. You were just, you were buying basically a D20 modern 5e kind of everyday shoot them up bang bang kind of game like that.

[00:01:21] But they also packaged it with getting movie rights. So they were releasing products based on Escape from LA, Universal Soldier, Highlander, The Crow, which I played, Kong Skull Island.

[00:01:35] And there was, let's see, Pacific Rim. And I think I may be missing one or two. But so anyway, I signed up for the Crow game.

[00:01:43] And I go to my little room at Gen Con and I'm playing the Crow and Jeremy's texting on Discord and said he just wanted to check it out.

[00:01:51] Well, I'm in the middle of the game and I see Jeremy walk in and then I see him just pull up a chair and sit next to one of the evil genius, which is the publisher of this game or creator of this game.

[00:02:03] And I'm in the middle of the game. And I see him just sit next to one of their employees and just talk to him for a fucking hour.

[00:02:06] I was like, God, just just like that took I didn't expect that.

[00:02:12] I guess what I was saying him just pull up a random seat. Now, Jeremy, why did you bother this poor man for an hour or so?

[00:02:20] It's because it's one of the guys that writes for Evil Geniuses.

[00:02:25] I didn't realize that he was working for Evil Genius at the time.

[00:02:27] And I've known him for probably the better part of a decade.

[00:02:32] It's a guy named Brian C.P. Steele.

[00:02:34] He was working for Renegade and then he moved over to Evil Genius and started doing a lot of the movie rights for the sci-fi division for the different modules.

[00:02:44] I can't remember which one he was working on because he was wouldn't I can't remember what one came out to be perfectly honest with you since the time I've talked to him.

[00:02:51] But it was all hush hush at the time and he wouldn't tell me about it, but he was super excited.

[00:02:55] But yeah, so my audacity was the fact that I knew him for like 10 years and I blew Adam's mind because I talked to him for like an hour and he didn't know I knew him.

[00:03:06] I mean, I'm Jeremy's friendly.

[00:03:08] First time I met him, he just acts like we're not we're not strangers or anything like that.

[00:03:12] That's one of your great qualities.

[00:03:13] And I was like, well, damn, he's just working his magic over there.

[00:03:17] But I guess I'm kind of getting a little sidetracked here.

[00:03:20] So as we mentioned beforehand, it's Evil Everyday Heroes is an RPG created by Evil Genius Productions that came out in 2022.

[00:03:30] And it's just built on the D20 Modern system, which I think was that third ed D&D is what that was built on, Jeremy?

[00:03:39] It looks like three or three and a half.

[00:03:41] Okay.

[00:03:42] If it was D20 Modern, I'm going to guess three at the time because I remember playing third ed a lot when it came out.

[00:03:49] So I think that's probably the case.

[00:03:51] So it's a modern setting set in the present day.

[00:03:56] And the idea of this is you're supposed to create characters that are inspired by action heroes from movies and television.

[00:04:02] Now, much like D&D, they have a class system.

[00:04:06] So with Everyday Heroes, there's a class system.

[00:04:10] You're supposed to be building characters are built using a class based system with options like charisma.

[00:04:17] I mean, the charismatic player.

[00:04:20] There's like another character class.

[00:04:22] It's like the bruiser.

[00:04:24] And I think there was like a detective.

[00:04:26] There's several of them, and we're going to go into them in a moment here.

[00:04:29] There's an occupation system, which is that you choose an occupation that provides additional skills and abilities such as cop, doctor, or soldier.

[00:04:41] There's action points where players use action points to enhance their character's abilities during crucial moments.

[00:04:47] There's cinematic rules that are built into this.

[00:04:50] So it's designed to emulate action movie tropes such as one-liners and last stands and whatnot.

[00:04:57] And I mentioned this beforehand, but it's very modular.

[00:05:01] The core rule set is designed to be easily expanded with genre-specific modules such as like The Crow and whatnot.

[00:05:09] So it's pretty cool.

[00:05:12] I know I've been doing a lot of talking right now.

[00:05:15] You guys have any input on this?

[00:05:17] You know what it reminded me a lot of when reading?

[00:05:20] Sort of like, have you guys ever seen the TV show Leverage?

[00:05:24] I think it was Leverage.

[00:05:25] It reminded me kind of like that, where you have like a whole bunch of just different people, different types, like the tech guy, the thief guy, the talkie person all coming together to work for a crew.

[00:05:37] Kind of reminded me a lot about that kind of thing.

[00:05:41] Yeah.

[00:05:42] Or at least the character creation, like creating a character, that kind of thing.

[00:05:46] And I think it's kind of neat because as someone who used to play D20 Modern a bit, it's kind of a neat update to it.

[00:05:53] Because D20 Modern was kind of just the updated version of D&D with insert half dragons in the modern world type thing.

[00:06:04] This seems more of a, you're just an action hero.

[00:06:07] It reminds me more of a feng shui or something powered by the apocalypse that way.

[00:06:11] Yeah.

[00:06:13] And when you first told me about it, I was very curious how they were going to pull off like the smart kind of person or whatever, especially if it's supposed to be D&D-esque in the modern world or whatever.

[00:06:26] How are they going to like, because all the intelligent people are magic casters.

[00:06:29] So how is that going to translate into this?

[00:06:30] And I was, I felt like I should have expected it where it's kind of described as like sort of like the, I guess the Ocean's Eleven kind of like flashback.

[00:06:41] Like, oh, you knew it was going to happen.

[00:06:43] Like, use the flashback to describe like how you set up whatever thing you pull off.

[00:06:49] That's pretty cool.

[00:06:50] I haven't really looked much into the intelligence, like the masterminds or anything, but that's pretty neat if they're doing that.

[00:06:56] Cause that'd be kind of more of a blades in the dark type setting where you work with your flashbacks and stuff.

[00:07:02] That's, that's pretty cool.

[00:07:03] Some, some of them are described that kind of way.

[00:07:05] And some of them are obviously like you're able to, to use whatever gear you have on hand to, to do stuff like the smoke bomb and the healing and things.

[00:07:14] MacGyver that shit.

[00:07:15] Yeah.

[00:07:18] One of the things that stuck out to me about this is, you know, you pick up D&D, it just seems, it seems like it's very front loaded or anything.

[00:07:26] Any RPG systems like they'll seep you in the lore and whatnot.

[00:07:31] And the opening chapters of this opening chapter, this book, there was none of that because, well, at least it didn't seem to me like that.

[00:07:39] It's just basically how to use the rules.

[00:07:41] What is a role playing game?

[00:07:42] You know, the generic stuff like that talks about the dice, the rows, results, et cetera, et cetera.

[00:07:48] But there's not like an introduction into this modern world since we're kind of in this modern world.

[00:07:55] So we're going to, since this is real up, we're going to be rolling up characters.

[00:08:02] And there is, I think we're going to start, if you have a copy of the book or you picked up the PDF, which I definitely would advise you to do so.

[00:08:09] We're going to be starting around page 19 and moving forward here.

[00:08:14] It's got pretty nice artwork as well.

[00:08:18] Hmm.

[00:08:20] So when you're, one of the first things it mentions in character creation is that there's three approaches.

[00:08:26] All right.

[00:08:27] There are two sides to every RPG character, the way they are represented in the rules and the way that they are represented in your imagination.

[00:08:36] Ideally, the two aspects blend together and complement one another.

[00:08:40] But which one comes first?

[00:08:42] Honestly, it's up to you.

[00:08:43] Let's do a quick look at the three different approaches.

[00:08:46] There is the concept, a first approach where you already have an idea of what kind of hero you're wanting to play.

[00:08:52] And you're just going to build a, possibly building a version of a famous movie character and port it over.

[00:08:58] There's a rules first approach, which assumes that you know the rules and you have a notion that what you want your hero to do.

[00:09:05] So kind of building toward a certain outcome that you're wanting.

[00:09:11] And then there's probably the approach that I'm going to make, the just wing it approach.

[00:09:17] This is a good way to make a hero's any.

[00:09:19] If you don't know what you want to make, let the process guide you along.

[00:09:23] So start with your guy.

[00:09:25] You want to kind of, you know, you want to make John Rambo, which that's another one of the products that they release for everyday heroes.

[00:09:34] So there's a rules first approach and to just wing it.

[00:09:37] So do anybody, any of you guys know right now, kind of what you're looking at?

[00:09:41] I'm kind of looking at one of the agile heroes for whatever reason.

[00:09:45] Sharpshooter really caught my eye.

[00:09:48] I was thinking kind of a John Woo type character, a John Woo action type character.

[00:09:55] Okay.

[00:09:57] I definitely took the rules approach where when you shared this with me, I decided to read it over and see what this RPG was all about.

[00:10:06] And some of the skills and abilities and stuff like that really stuck out to me or and especially some of the like the character archetypes and backgrounds.

[00:10:14] Yeah.

[00:10:15] So I just put together a bunch of the stuff that I really liked and then thought, oh, what kind of character does this encompass?

[00:10:20] So I'm definitely going to go something with like an intelligence kind of build.

[00:10:25] Okay.

[00:10:26] Well, it's kind of interesting because that means that between me doing concept first, you doing rule or Nick doing rules first and you doing just wing it.

[00:10:35] We've covered all three approaches and we didn't realize it.

[00:10:37] Yeah.

[00:10:38] I like that about it.

[00:10:40] That's pretty cool.

[00:10:42] I roughly have an idea of like what kind of character or what class I'm looking at.

[00:10:47] And that kind of leads us up into step one.

[00:10:51] There's they mentioned the archetypes in the classes.

[00:10:53] So you have six archetypes or strong heroes.

[00:10:57] So that could be like your MMA fighters who use strength to perform heroic feats.

[00:11:01] There's there's the agile heroes that Jeremy mentioned beforehand, which is a martial artist, a scoundrel or sharpshooter who uses dexterity.

[00:11:08] There's the tough heroes, bodyguard, commando, scrapper.

[00:11:12] There's the smart heroes, which engineer, hacker, mastermind.

[00:11:16] The wise heroes, which hunter, sleuth and so forth.

[00:11:21] And then finally, there's the charming heroes such as a dualist, an icon, a leader, a manipulator, so forth and so on.

[00:11:30] So I'm kind of up in the air at the moment, but I know that we're doing an agile hero for Jeremy.

[00:11:40] Nick, were you wanting what were you thinking?

[00:11:43] I was thinking the smart one of the smart heroes.

[00:11:46] OK, so I think we'll take those two off the board for me.

[00:11:52] Hmm.

[00:11:53] You know what?

[00:11:54] I'm going to I'm going to kind of throw my concept out here right now.

[00:11:58] Then I think I'll do a wise hero.

[00:12:01] So hunter sleuth, somebody who uses wisdom.

[00:12:06] So more of a detective kind of character.

[00:12:08] There's also some like martial artists and stuff in there, I think, as well.

[00:12:12] Mm hmm.

[00:12:13] It would be cool.

[00:12:15] It's a wizard.

[00:12:16] The wise category.

[00:12:18] Like if you were going to convert these over, what do you all think these are in D&D?

[00:12:21] These wisdom, if it was D&D would be, I believe, monk, cleric.

[00:12:29] Ranger, maybe.

[00:12:30] Ranger.

[00:12:31] Yes.

[00:12:32] OK.

[00:12:32] Agile is your thief, your assassin.

[00:12:35] Ranger, possibly, too, I guess.

[00:12:38] Mm hmm.

[00:12:39] Yes.

[00:12:40] OK, cool.

[00:12:41] And then I guess the smart ones, the magic ones.

[00:12:44] Yeah.

[00:12:44] The ant would be the wizard or the alchemist.

[00:12:47] The alchemist, if you play the newer 5e material.

[00:12:52] I personally don't know what I'm creating yet, so I don't know what to put on my background.

[00:12:58] So if you guys are OK with that, maybe we could go back to background eventually.

[00:13:03] Like as we flesh these guys out, I'm almost at the point that I'm kind of ready to start

[00:13:09] doing ability scores and then putting this guy to paper and seeing if we could get some

[00:13:15] stuff up.

[00:13:16] So that's fine.

[00:13:18] Because you start out with your it seems like kind of the logical role in this.

[00:13:23] The you start out with the ability scores and then you if you're if you're gaming it,

[00:13:27] it'd probably be like ability scores class and then your background and then your profession

[00:13:32] and stuff, because all your stats are going to be balanced off of whatever you're using.

[00:13:37] So, OK, so like I said, I'm just partial to actually having the numbers on here because

[00:13:42] I don't exactly know what the hell I'm creating yet.

[00:13:45] So this is going to help me out.

[00:13:46] So in the book, looks like it's on page 26 of the book, the determining the ability scores.

[00:13:55] So there's three different options to determine the ability score.

[00:13:59] You do a standard set by and excuse me, there's a standard set that you can pick from.

[00:14:08] There's the buying process where you just, you know, you have X amount of points to spend

[00:14:13] like D&D.

[00:14:14] And then finally, there's rolling.

[00:14:17] So I think that, yeah, I think I'm going to go ahead and do the point by system personally.

[00:14:25] Gentlemen, how about yourselves?

[00:14:26] What do you think you're doing?

[00:14:28] I think I'm going to do the standard set for the people listening.

[00:14:32] The standard set is where you assign scores based on a standard set that they have.

[00:14:37] In this instance, it is a 15, 14, 13, 12, 10 and 8.

[00:14:42] The biggest for ease, it's great, but you're never going to have you're never going to be

[00:14:48] able to roll that anything above a 15 because you're not rolling.

[00:14:53] The rolling, the rolling for the to determine has a lot more variability, but it also has

[00:14:59] a lot more high number of rolls.

[00:15:02] So that's, that's kind of the, the, the, the folly between standard set and like a point

[00:15:08] by or a, uh, or a roll.

[00:15:11] Do y'all have any, I think Nick, you do a lot more D and D than I do for sure.

[00:15:16] Like, do you have like your own house rule for when you're rolling up?

[00:15:19] Like if you get a one, you can reroll it or like, what do you typically do?

[00:15:23] My group isn't too serious.

[00:15:28] Um, so I, I let them like reroll their lowest stat if, um, their, their whole attribute total

[00:15:37] is like less than 70 or something like that.

[00:15:40] Um, but personally I just, just roll and keep what I get.

[00:15:45] But I like the roll system because, um, with the, the point by and the, uh, well, I guess

[00:15:52] with the point by you can go up to 18 or whatever, but with the standard set, you can only go

[00:15:56] as high as 15, but if you roll your dice, you could possibly get all, uh, six at 18.

[00:16:03] And if not, that's what dump stats were created for.

[00:16:06] Yeah.

[00:16:06] Good point.

[00:16:08] Alrighty.

[00:16:09] So for those of you out in the internet, we're going to go ahead and, uh, fade away, roll,

[00:16:16] and then we're going to come back and share with you what exactly we kind of turned up

[00:16:21] with on our numbers.

[00:16:23] Insert Wayne's world noise here.

[00:16:45] Looks like we have finished up our rolling.

[00:16:49] Well, some of us were rolling.

[00:16:50] Uh, we just start with that.

[00:16:53] How did the rolling treat you there, Nick?

[00:16:54] Oh, it was wonderful.

[00:16:57] We've got a nine and a nine and a 10 and 11, 12 and a 15.

[00:17:04] So I'm overall below average.

[00:17:08] Ah, how do you got those distributed on your character sheet?

[00:17:12] Uh, I've got nine in strength, 10 in decks, 11 in constitution, 15 in intelligence because

[00:17:20] I'm going for that intelligent build, uh, nine in wisdom and 12 in charisma.

[00:17:26] Fortunately at level three, you get feats.

[00:17:30] And one of the feats, I don't remember if you can get it right away.

[00:17:34] So it might be a long-term goal, but at least there's a feat out there that lets you use your wisdom and

[00:17:39] intelligence modifiers interchangeably.

[00:17:41] So if I make it that far, I'm set with wisdom.

[00:17:48] I did the point by system.

[00:17:51] Uh, and the nice thing about it is on page 26, there's a little chart there of like how

[00:17:57] much it would cost you.

[00:17:58] For example, to have an eight, that is a zero.

[00:18:03] And then it goes all the way up to like a score of 15, which would cost you nine points.

[00:18:08] So, you know, I, I went, I said, I wanted to make, uh, like a wisdom kind of class.

[00:18:14] So I went ahead and took 15 for wisdom.

[00:18:18] Another secondary decent one for wisdom was, um, for the class I'm looking for is like constitution.

[00:18:25] So I took another 15 for constitution.

[00:18:28] Eight, I don't really expect to be slugging it out or I'm not hoping to.

[00:18:32] So eight strength, 10 dexterity and charisma plus one.

[00:18:38] You know, if I'm going to be like a detective kind of character, right?

[00:18:41] I need to have some people skills.

[00:18:44] And I went for the standard set, which to reiterate gives you a 15, 14, 13, 12, 10, and eight.

[00:18:51] For mine, since I was going for an agility type hero, I put my 15 in dexterity.

[00:18:58] I put my 14 in constitution, 13 in strength, 12 in wisdom, 10 in intelligence, and the eight

[00:19:08] in charisma because he's going to be a surly bastard that doesn't know who he is.

[00:19:12] Not bad.

[00:19:14] And I think we've already kind of done this, but the next step is in this list here is we're

[00:19:21] going to have to kind of determine what our archetype is and our classes.

[00:19:27] I'm kind of looking at the character, character sheet here.

[00:19:31] So I think my archetype is going to be wise and I am going to go with sleuth.

[00:19:38] So what do you guys got?

[00:19:41] For me, I am going for the agile hero and I'm going for the sharpshooter.

[00:19:46] Okay.

[00:19:47] I am going for the, what is it called?

[00:19:51] The intelligent hero.

[00:19:54] Smart hero.

[00:19:55] And I'm going to be going for the scientist.

[00:20:00] Okay.

[00:20:01] Awesome.

[00:20:02] So see, we've got those here.

[00:20:05] So when we pick our archetype in class, the hero's archetype in class,

[00:20:09] determine how the hero approaches conflict, especially combat situations.

[00:20:14] Our types represent a broad category of heroes.

[00:20:17] Strong heroes use their physical might to beat up the bad guys,

[00:20:21] while smart heroes use their wits to overcome problems.

[00:20:25] So we've just mentioned these six archetypes.

[00:20:29] Let's see.

[00:20:30] Is this where we get our hit die?

[00:20:31] It says hit dice and hit points.

[00:20:33] Yes.

[00:20:34] The more hit points you have, the longer you can stay in a fight.

[00:20:38] Hit dice argues to determine hit points.

[00:20:41] The bigger the hit dice, the more points you have.

[00:20:44] I don't know if I'm skipping this or not.

[00:20:47] I'm not very familiar with Dandy.

[00:20:49] Let's see.

[00:20:50] Defense determines.

[00:20:51] Yeah.

[00:20:52] Well, it's explaining what offense and defense is.

[00:20:54] I'll probably cut that up.

[00:20:55] So what do you think?

[00:20:58] So let's see.

[00:20:59] Do we want to describe what our archetype like specializes in or does or?

[00:21:05] Yeah.

[00:21:05] I mean, that wouldn't hurt.

[00:21:06] So with the sleuth, I'd use the key ability scores.

[00:21:11] It's kind of my guiding point here.

[00:21:13] The description actually of the sleuth is you use intuition and experience to uncover truth.

[00:21:18] So wisdom, intelligence are key abilities.

[00:21:24] Now, I did screw that up.

[00:21:25] I may shuffle some things around after I read that.

[00:21:28] I probably ought to move my constitution over to intelligence.

[00:21:33] And yeah, I may swap those around here in a minute when we get to doing this here.

[00:21:38] And yeah, secondary is constitution and charisma.

[00:21:41] And it's got like a simplicity, like how easy it is to create this and pick something medium.

[00:21:48] Ooh, I just looked at what you picked, Nick.

[00:21:52] That seems complex.

[00:21:53] All the intelligence builds say complex.

[00:21:56] But yeah, I chose scientist.

[00:21:59] It says that my plans, basically spells, quote unquote, are themed around biology and chemistry to damage enemies and aid allies.

[00:22:09] They're a support role in combat, which is typically one of the two types of styles I like.

[00:22:15] Either I like going full glass cannon to basically kill the enemies before they can kill me.

[00:22:22] Or what I most commonly do is support.

[00:22:25] So I'm definitely going to take some of the healing stuff.

[00:22:29] Like I can have like adrenaline shot, which gives you temporary hit points.

[00:22:34] Or just straight up healing.

[00:22:35] I apparently can shoot a dart into you to heal you.

[00:22:41] And then there's other stuff that I can use that like boost your combat speed.

[00:22:49] Or like a Molotov cocktail, like a makeshift Molotov cocktail.

[00:22:53] Or knockout gas to either damage the enemy or I guess do poison sort of damage to them.

[00:23:01] So it's very, very support-ish.

[00:23:05] Okay.

[00:23:06] We definitely need support.

[00:23:09] Jeremy, what are you looking at with your guy?

[00:23:12] I'm looking at the sharpshooter.

[00:23:14] He said you're a master of modern firearms.

[00:23:16] Able to make impossible shots look everless.

[00:23:19] Whether you're sniping targets from a mile away or dancing through a hail of bullets with a gun in either hand, you rarely miss your mark.

[00:23:26] The sharpshooter focuses on ranged weapons using either dual pistols or long guns.

[00:23:31] Both are highly effective at bringing down foes quickly.

[00:23:35] Sharpshooters are not especially durable and sick to cover in combat.

[00:23:38] So basically kind of the rogue plus glass cannon plus ranger, I guess, type class.

[00:23:46] They focus a lot on dexterity and intelligence along with just kind of trying to stay out of combat and deal massive damage.

[00:23:54] Okay.

[00:23:55] It seems like our team isn't very openly confrontational.

[00:24:00] No.

[00:24:01] We seem very much the plan to do an ambush type.

[00:24:05] I can go with that there.

[00:24:07] I mean, having a little bit of caution, there's something to be said for that.

[00:24:12] I like it.

[00:24:13] What next here?

[00:24:15] So we've got those filled out.

[00:24:17] I guess we're going to go into, we did archetypes and all that.

[00:24:23] Let's just finish in touches here.

[00:24:25] We would probably want to either go back to background or choose our profession.

[00:24:31] Our day job when we're not out, you know, doing action hero stuff.

[00:24:36] Okay.

[00:24:36] Well, I'll tell you what.

[00:24:37] Let's just go ahead and jump to chapter two.

[00:24:39] It looks like backgrounds comes before professions.

[00:24:45] So, I haven't looked through these too much here.

[00:24:47] Do any of you guys have an idea of what you're looking at?

[00:24:50] Well, let's go ahead and row through these real quick.

[00:24:52] How about that?

[00:24:54] So, each one of these has a description.

[00:24:56] I'll use the first one I'm looking at.

[00:24:59] It's backgrounds and activists.

[00:25:00] Growing up, you were motivated to act on behalf of a social or political cause.

[00:25:06] You know how to influence people by your deeds and actions.

[00:25:10] And then they give you an ability score increase.

[00:25:13] And you get a proficiency, an iconic kind of item.

[00:25:20] And then a special feature.

[00:25:22] So, they're as listed as activists, art lover, bookworm, caregiver, cosmopolitan, gamer, immigrant,

[00:25:32] juvenile delinquent, larper, that's interesting, military tradition, misfit, on the run, ordinary, orphan, person of mystery, poor family, raised by assassins, religious tradition, rural family, social butterfly, student athlete,

[00:25:55] uh, substance, survivor, technophile, and wealthy family.

[00:26:03] So, there's quite a few of them.

[00:26:05] Yeah.

[00:26:05] And when I first read through them, I'm like, oh, this actually covers a wide range of, like,

[00:26:10] different backgrounds you could see in various parts of the U.S. and so on.

[00:26:15] Until it got to, like, raised by assassins.

[00:26:20] I love the picture of the ninja feeding the baby a bottle.

[00:26:25] I may make that to cover art for the episode.

[00:26:29] You know, you may want to play Ryu from Ninja Gaiden.

[00:26:33] Come on.

[00:26:34] That is very true.

[00:26:35] That is true.

[00:26:36] I do remember, I lied to you.

[00:26:37] I did glance at this earlier today, and looking at this reminded me.

[00:26:41] Regardless of what I want to pick, I mean, of what I said, I do want to pick this one here.

[00:26:46] So, I want to pick, put dibs on person of mystery.

[00:26:51] Ah, shenanigans.

[00:26:52] I'm sorry.

[00:26:53] Was that going to be your assassin?

[00:26:55] Yeah.

[00:26:56] You called it.

[00:26:57] Oh, I'm sorry.

[00:26:59] Nope.

[00:26:59] That's all you.

[00:27:00] That's all you.

[00:27:01] You got it before I did.

[00:27:03] Because I made it that way.

[00:27:05] You called dibs.

[00:27:06] Nope.

[00:27:06] You called dibs.

[00:27:07] If I wanted to, I would have been it.

[00:27:09] The one that I lied that I wanted to go for is Ordinary.

[00:27:14] I don't have any exciting stories in my background.

[00:27:16] I grew up solidly in the middle class and had an unremarkable childhood.

[00:27:22] Because, unlike everything else, where you can either put your ability score increase in one of two choices.

[00:27:31] This one lets me put it in anything except charisma.

[00:27:34] Let's me choose my own skill proficiency.

[00:27:37] And the special feature I love is blend in.

[00:27:40] I have advantage on ability checks made to blend in with the crowd.

[00:27:43] So, as the very squishy, non-combative support scientist, I have a better chance of just Jason Borning as the train goes by and disappearing from the enemy's point of view.

[00:27:56] I sent this picture of, like, you're trying to Jason Borning and you just, like, turn and walk into the crowd.

[00:28:02] You're like, what, what, what, what?

[00:28:04] And then you just walk in.

[00:28:06] Go ahead.

[00:28:07] Go in depth on that one real quick.

[00:28:09] What else do you get with your background?

[00:28:11] Like, ability score, language, everything.

[00:28:14] I was thinking of using this ability score to increase.

[00:28:19] Oh, I forgot to add the ability score increase from my scientist itself.

[00:28:24] But I was thinking of using this either bump up my intelligence some more or constitution to.

[00:28:30] No, no, actually dexterity would actually be good.

[00:28:34] Because I've got a plan for my profession, which works perfectly for my really poor roles.

[00:28:40] Okay.

[00:28:42] So, if you get what kind of iconic equipment?

[00:28:44] Did you mention that beforehand?

[00:28:45] Uh, my iconic equipment is actually unique.

[00:28:48] And that is called the not-so-iconic equipment.

[00:28:54] Which is just, unlike everyone else that gets cool things, it's just called bag stuff and pocket stuff.

[00:29:04] Which is a small bag, which can contain normal everyday items and whatever I can fit into my pocket.

[00:29:11] You could do the- that could work with your MacGyver build.

[00:29:14] Now, come on.

[00:29:15] Yeah, yeah.

[00:29:17] Definitely.

[00:29:18] And, uh, what's your special features?

[00:29:20] These kind of interest me as I look at mine, but...

[00:29:22] Oh, yeah, that was the blended thing I mentioned with the JSON board blending into the crowd when I, uh...

[00:29:28] When I, uh, probably mess up at some point.

[00:29:33] Jeremy, I want to tell you who you can blame on me, taking your particular, uh, background that you were looking at.

[00:29:40] Blame Glenn Danzig from the Misfits and, uh, uh, Danzig itself.

[00:29:45] Like, I should have picked Misfit and I was looking at it.

[00:29:47] But, uh, I don't know.

[00:29:50] Have you guys seen, um...

[00:29:52] What was the Bachelor movie that had Guy Cooper in it?

[00:29:54] What was it called?

[00:29:55] Hangover?

[00:29:56] Oh, yeah.

[00:29:57] Yeah, this song appears in it.

[00:29:58] But there's a song that Danzig did and then Johnny Cash later covered it called Thirteen.

[00:30:04] And there's a line in it.

[00:30:06] It's like, uh...

[00:30:07] Uh, I got the number 13 tattooed on my neck.

[00:30:10] When the ink starts to itch, the black turns to red.

[00:30:13] So it's just like a mystery kind of, uh...

[00:30:17] I guess he's been experimented on or something like that or whatever is what the implication is.

[00:30:22] I kind of like that with my detective.

[00:30:24] I want to be like...

[00:30:25] And I'm jumping ahead, but this is what I love about role-playing games.

[00:30:28] Like, certain things give you character concepts.

[00:30:31] All right, so...

[00:30:33] Person mystery.

[00:30:34] It says,

[00:30:35] Your background is a mystery.

[00:30:37] Events even to you.

[00:30:39] You have no official records and only a dim recollection of your life.

[00:30:43] It's not a topic you feel comfortable with discussing with others.

[00:30:46] So my ability score increases.

[00:30:48] I can pick any ability score and raise it to one.

[00:30:50] I'm going to go for con.

[00:30:52] That'll put me at 12.

[00:30:53] My iconic equipment is a mysterious locket.

[00:30:57] Which would be a nice little thing for a GM to play with.

[00:31:01] My special feature.

[00:31:02] It's coming back to me.

[00:31:04] A forgotten skill or language rise from your foggy memory.

[00:31:09] At any point during play, you can decide what single additional skill proficiency you learned in your mysterious past.

[00:31:17] Once the choice is made, it's permanent.

[00:31:19] At any point in play, you can decide what single additional language you learned in your mysterious past.

[00:31:27] And once you pick it, it's gone.

[00:31:28] So I've kind of got two hoes on what I can throw into my character at any point in time.

[00:31:32] And that's kind of cool.

[00:31:35] So I think I'm even going to go far.

[00:31:37] I'm going to go ahead and name my character 13.

[00:31:39] Nice.

[00:31:40] So I've already rattled for quite a bit.

[00:31:43] Sorry, Jeremy.

[00:31:44] Please tell me what your second choice is.

[00:31:47] So my second choice in the spirit of a John Woo movie, I took On the Run.

[00:31:53] You spend a portion of your life on the run.

[00:31:55] You might be running from the law, a personal vendetta, or bill collectors.

[00:31:59] You're accustomed to looking over your shoulder for prosecutors.

[00:32:01] For the ability score increase, I get to increase dexterity or constitution by 1 to a maximum of 20.

[00:32:09] I put it in dexterity, which bumped up my ability score to 3 from a 16.

[00:32:17] Skill proficiencies, I get perception.

[00:32:20] The iconic equipment that I get is a fake ID, a loose-fitting hoodie and sunglasses, and special feature I got On the Edge.

[00:32:30] Whenever you roll initiative, you can re-roll once and you must use the new result.

[00:32:37] I'm going for the John Woo movie, the man with no name, the one that's always on the run.

[00:32:45] And that's cool.

[00:32:47] We'll flesh you out more until I rattle about how our party will come together here.

[00:32:51] And my own little head face here.

[00:32:53] So we have already picked out our backgrounds.

[00:32:56] Now it's time for professions.

[00:32:58] So this is a day job.

[00:33:00] Being a hero, reading straight from the book on page 2039.

[00:33:06] Being a hero isn't always financially rewarding work.

[00:33:09] That's why your character has a day job.

[00:33:11] The choice of profession sets the starting wealth level.

[00:33:14] It offers a range of ability bonuses, proficiencies, and special features.

[00:33:20] Professions grant extra skill proficiencies and round out your character's ability scores.

[00:33:27] Some offer weapon proficiencies, useful for heroes with less combat-oriented classes.

[00:33:33] Or you can choose one that fits the role-playing concept you have in mind.

[00:33:37] So I'm going to rattle these out without going into them.

[00:33:41] Just to kind of give you a list here.

[00:33:43] So there's academia, agriculture, athletics, counseling, creative, crime, customer service, daredevil,

[00:33:54] which I assume is stunts and not crime fighter, emergency services, espionage.

[00:34:00] It's a living.

[00:34:02] Faith, finance, independent, information technology, intelligence, investigative services, journalism, law, law enforcement.

[00:34:14] So I guess, yeah.

[00:34:17] Courtroom versus.

[00:34:19] Yeah.

[00:34:20] The streets.

[00:34:21] Medicine.

[00:34:22] Military.

[00:34:23] Outdoors.

[00:34:24] Politics.

[00:34:25] Private security.

[00:34:26] Science.

[00:34:28] Student.

[00:34:29] And then there's trades.

[00:34:31] Transportation.

[00:34:33] Unemployed.

[00:34:34] White collar.

[00:34:35] So God, there's quite a bit.

[00:34:37] So I'm going to make a judgment call.

[00:34:39] If I have not looked at any of these and I don't want to pick something just willy-nilly here,

[00:34:43] you all want to take a brief break and we'll pop back and put some finishing touches on our character?

[00:34:49] That's fine.

[00:34:50] Works for me.

[00:34:51] Awesome.

[00:35:08] So after going through everything here, we're jumping back into our professions.

[00:35:14] So I went ahead and took a person of mystery.

[00:35:18] I stole that from Jeremy.

[00:35:19] It's something I'm not proud of, but I'm kind of glad I got it because it sounds pretty cool.

[00:35:23] And I was looking for a career.

[00:35:25] Now, I did go over a huge list of them here.

[00:35:27] And the one that works out best for my particular character, since I went with the sleuth, is investigative services.

[00:35:36] I was given a couple options here, so I'm going to rattle off these to you.

[00:35:40] You work for a private sector dealing with civil investigations, protecting your clients' assets, thieves, and saboteurs.

[00:35:48] Sample careers are bounty hunter, corporate security, military contractor, private investigator, or repo man.

[00:35:55] Well, Emilio Estevez, Jeremy, was in the repo man.

[00:35:58] And Emilio Estevez never really steered me wrong.

[00:36:01] So I like the idea that I am a repo man.

[00:36:05] Just work for various banks and car dealerships and stuff like that, is I have wandered into town with very little knowledge of myself.

[00:36:13] Now, the cool thing is I get to increase my intelligence by one.

[00:36:19] So I went ahead and added that.

[00:36:20] That took me up to an intelligence of 16.

[00:36:23] And I get to choose another skill and increase it by one.

[00:36:28] And con.

[00:36:29] I went ahead and threw it into con.

[00:36:30] So I have a con of 13 now.

[00:36:32] I come with equipment proficiencies and basic equipment and advanced equipment.

[00:36:39] Though it doesn't give those to me.

[00:36:41] It just says I have proficiency in them, which is fine.

[00:36:45] Skill proficiencies are in insight, investigation, and security.

[00:36:51] My iconic equipment is an inconspicuous clothing.

[00:36:57] A laptop computer.

[00:36:59] Concealed and carried pistol.

[00:37:01] So at least I finally got a weapon.

[00:37:02] A SLR.

[00:37:04] So nice little camera.

[00:37:06] And I have my security license of some sort.

[00:37:10] My wealth level is three, which I guess is middle class maybe.

[00:37:16] And the special feature is investigative expertise.

[00:37:20] You gain expertise in either investigation or security.

[00:37:25] But I must be proficient in a skill to gain said expertise.

[00:37:30] So, yeah, that's pretty much what I picked.

[00:37:34] Now, Nick, I know I want to hear this.

[00:37:38] I know what it is because we talked about it.

[00:37:40] But we share this with the kids.

[00:37:42] Okay, well, I'm a scientist.

[00:37:45] And my background is just ordinary.

[00:37:48] Just ordinary guy.

[00:37:50] Reading it over, I noticed that all of the professions,

[00:37:58] they typically just increase one or two ability scores.

[00:38:03] Mostly two ability scores.

[00:38:05] Except two of them in particular.

[00:38:09] They raise four ability scores.

[00:38:13] And given how low I rolled,

[00:38:16] I figured I might want to pad my ability scores.

[00:38:22] That sounds like a wise move.

[00:38:25] So, taking some inspiration from, like, Goodwill Hunting,

[00:38:29] I decided to go in the customer service field.

[00:38:33] I work on the front lines of capitalism.

[00:38:36] I can either greet customers, take their money, answer questions,

[00:38:41] take the heat over anything anybody, you know, wants to yell at for.

[00:38:48] So, I decided to be a Walmart greeter.

[00:38:53] With that, I can increase my charisma by one,

[00:38:56] which isn't increasing that modifier, unfortunately.

[00:39:02] But I do get to increase my intelligence, constitution, and dexterity up one stat.

[00:39:09] To give them a nice 16, 12, 12.

[00:39:12] So, I can get some extra little ability score,

[00:39:15] little modifier increases there.

[00:39:20] I get skill proficiencies and deception and persuasion,

[00:39:23] which pays off with me wanting to have, like, a little bit of, you know,

[00:39:27] charisma sort of support style.

[00:39:30] So, and then here's where I actually get iconic equipment instead of no iconic equipment.

[00:39:36] So, unless, except, unlike last time, where I just got pocket stuff,

[00:39:42] I now have my proud Walmart uniform,

[00:39:45] my shiny name tag,

[00:39:48] I have a employee of the month certificate,

[00:39:51] and more importantly, my bottle of aspirin.

[00:39:56] And then finally, rounding out my customer service career is my wealth level of one.

[00:40:02] And my special feature, de-escalation,

[00:40:05] where I have advantage on charisma checks

[00:40:08] to calm angry people

[00:40:10] or to persuade someone to show me mercy.

[00:40:16] So, I figured that I was a scientist

[00:40:19] and I did something really bad in my job

[00:40:25] where I sort of got fired,

[00:40:27] maybe even blacklisted.

[00:40:29] Things didn't work out.

[00:40:31] So, now I just work the customer service job as a greeter

[00:40:35] and try and do some, you know,

[00:40:37] homemade science tinkering at home

[00:40:40] when I have time,

[00:40:42] which I guess describes why I have a

[00:40:46] general wealth level of one.

[00:40:48] Do you have a YouTube channel?

[00:40:52] Um, that's the long-term goal.

[00:40:54] Long-term goal.

[00:40:58] I'm so tired every day

[00:40:59] from dealing with the customers.

[00:41:01] I say I'm going to get to it

[00:41:02] the next time I get a break,

[00:41:03] but, you know,

[00:41:04] when you get home and just pass out in front of the TV,

[00:41:07] or after doing a little science,

[00:41:09] checking up on your homemade science experiments,

[00:41:11] you know,

[00:41:12] the thought of doing YouTube

[00:41:14] just doesn't fly.

[00:41:16] You'll never get that sweet stacker money

[00:41:18] or HelloFresh or whatever it is.

[00:41:20] Yeah.

[00:41:23] Hey,

[00:41:23] don't forget to like, share, and subscribe.

[00:41:26] Jeremy,

[00:41:26] your party is made up of a repo man

[00:41:29] and a door greeter

[00:41:31] or a Walmart employee in general.

[00:41:32] I think you're too young for a door greeter.

[00:41:34] That's something to shoot for.

[00:41:36] What about yourself?

[00:41:37] What are you going for?

[00:41:39] I went for The Criminal,

[00:41:41] which, if anybody plays to,

[00:41:43] listens to any of the games I'm in,

[00:41:44] that's generally what I go for.

[00:41:46] This time it just kind of fell into place

[00:41:47] because of wanting to do

[00:41:51] the action hero type character.

[00:41:53] So, you break the law

[00:41:55] to make your living,

[00:41:56] regardless of your particular flavor of criminality.

[00:41:59] You must stay one step ahead of law enforcement

[00:42:01] and navigate a world where business disputes

[00:42:03] are saddled by violence rather than lawyers.

[00:42:06] Sample careers for this were

[00:42:07] bank robber,

[00:42:08] cat burglar,

[00:42:09] con artist enforcer,

[00:42:11] forger,

[00:42:12] gang member,

[00:42:12] grifter,

[00:42:13] hitman,

[00:42:13] and jewel thief.

[00:42:14] I went for the hitman

[00:42:16] in the spirit of replacement killers.

[00:42:19] Ability score increase,

[00:42:21] increase,

[00:42:22] I got one increase on dexterity

[00:42:24] and two other ability scores of my choice

[00:42:26] by one,

[00:42:27] so I went with charisma

[00:42:28] to push that out of a negative.

[00:42:32] Skill proficiencies,

[00:42:33] I got to choose three

[00:42:34] from the following list,

[00:42:36] deception,

[00:42:36] intimidation,

[00:42:37] security,

[00:42:38] sleight of hand,

[00:42:38] stealth,

[00:42:39] and streetwise.

[00:42:40] I chose

[00:42:42] security,

[00:42:43] sleight of hand,

[00:42:44] and streetwise.

[00:42:45] I got the

[00:42:46] equipment efficiencies

[00:42:47] for both basic

[00:42:48] and advanced equipment.

[00:42:50] I got an

[00:42:51] iconic equipment

[00:42:53] of a concealed carry pistol,

[00:42:54] a cool jacket,

[00:42:55] and a stolen luxury car

[00:42:56] with clean plates,

[00:42:58] which if you

[00:43:00] take account

[00:43:01] account of all of my backgrounds

[00:43:02] so far,

[00:43:03] I'm now carrying

[00:43:04] three different pistols

[00:43:05] and a sniper rifle,

[00:43:06] so I am a walking gun.

[00:43:08] I got a wealth level of two,

[00:43:10] and as a special feature,

[00:43:13] I got an ability

[00:43:14] called criminal record.

[00:43:15] You have advantage

[00:43:16] on charisma checks

[00:43:18] when interacting

[00:43:18] with the criminal underworld.

[00:43:20] You have disadvantage

[00:43:22] on charisma checks

[00:43:22] when interacting

[00:43:23] with anyone

[00:43:24] from law enforcement

[00:43:25] or private security profession

[00:43:26] if they know my record.

[00:43:28] Okay.

[00:43:29] Now,

[00:43:30] something that

[00:43:31] you all didn't hear

[00:43:33] because,

[00:43:34] well,

[00:43:35] you all did,

[00:43:35] but the people

[00:43:36] listening to this didn't

[00:43:37] because I haven't absolutely,

[00:43:38] I'm so lost

[00:43:39] on D20 systems anyway,

[00:43:41] and this is,

[00:43:42] I'm loving this,

[00:43:43] but there was a couple things

[00:43:44] I was kind of missing.

[00:43:45] So as we were going

[00:43:46] through our character sheet,

[00:43:48] we went through

[00:43:48] our general abilities

[00:43:50] and, you know,

[00:43:51] put the plus two,

[00:43:52] plus one,

[00:43:53] et cetera,

[00:43:53] et cetera,

[00:43:54] all that between

[00:43:55] our last little break here.

[00:43:57] And what I like

[00:43:59] about the character sheet

[00:43:59] after it had to be

[00:44:01] explained to me

[00:44:03] is that,

[00:44:04] I mean,

[00:44:04] everything's laid out

[00:44:05] really nice.

[00:44:06] I'm using,

[00:44:06] we're using the character sheets

[00:44:08] that you can pick up

[00:44:09] from Evil Genius.

[00:44:10] They have a month

[00:44:10] drive-through RPG.

[00:44:12] I downloaded them

[00:44:12] last night.

[00:44:13] They're free.

[00:44:14] Grab them.

[00:44:14] They're nice.

[00:44:16] But as I was going through it,

[00:44:18] I noticed there's

[00:44:19] a lot of holes here.

[00:44:20] And it turns out

[00:44:22] that I was missing

[00:44:24] some stuff.

[00:44:25] So our next little chapter

[00:44:28] in the book

[00:44:29] goes over our archetype.

[00:44:31] So we picked out

[00:44:31] our archetype,

[00:44:32] but each archetype

[00:44:33] has its own advantages here.

[00:44:35] So I'm going to go ahead

[00:44:36] and rattle off mine

[00:44:38] just to kind of,

[00:44:39] well,

[00:44:39] we're about ready

[00:44:40] to put a bow on this.

[00:44:41] But,

[00:44:42] so I am going

[00:44:43] with the sleuth.

[00:44:45] And if I go to page 106,

[00:44:49] so we've made it

[00:44:50] one-fourth of the way

[00:44:51] through the book so far,

[00:44:53] it gives me

[00:44:55] proficiencies

[00:44:56] for savings throws

[00:44:57] for intelligence

[00:44:58] as wisdom,

[00:44:59] which Nick had to help me

[00:45:00] find out on the worksheet.

[00:45:02] And it says skills.

[00:45:03] So I get to pick

[00:45:04] a skill proficiency

[00:45:05] in three of the following,

[00:45:09] arts and crafts,

[00:45:10] computers,

[00:45:11] deception,

[00:45:12] insight,

[00:45:13] investigation,

[00:45:15] perception,

[00:45:16] security,

[00:45:17] stealth,

[00:45:17] streetwise,

[00:45:18] and vehicles.

[00:45:19] This is where I actually

[00:45:21] get my equipment,

[00:45:23] my basic equipment

[00:45:25] on this page.

[00:45:26] And it tells me

[00:45:27] that my investigative expertise,

[00:45:29] I get to choose

[00:45:31] between either

[00:45:33] insight,

[00:45:34] investigation,

[00:45:34] or perception.

[00:45:36] But you've got to have

[00:45:37] a point in proficient,

[00:45:39] you've got to be proficient

[00:45:40] in it to get,

[00:45:41] to get the expertise in it.

[00:45:43] So what I like about this,

[00:45:46] it's I did not have

[00:45:47] a perception.

[00:45:49] As having,

[00:45:51] being proficient in it.

[00:45:52] So I was in this

[00:45:53] fell swoop,

[00:45:54] I was able to add

[00:45:55] proficiency to that

[00:45:58] among the three skills

[00:45:59] that I can pick.

[00:46:00] And then I was able

[00:46:01] to go ahead

[00:46:02] and move my perception

[00:46:03] up to expertise,

[00:46:06] which is what I wanted to do.

[00:46:07] So I like how,

[00:46:09] of course,

[00:46:09] I kind of followed

[00:46:10] the path of somebody

[00:46:12] who was a sleuth

[00:46:12] would be in investigative

[00:46:14] services.

[00:46:14] So it really kind of

[00:46:16] took care of everything

[00:46:17] for me.

[00:46:18] Now,

[00:46:19] it gives me equipment

[00:46:20] recommendations,

[00:46:22] but I don't

[00:46:24] particularly know

[00:46:25] what these are

[00:46:26] proficiencies

[00:46:27] in this,

[00:46:28] so to speak.

[00:46:29] Maybe you guys

[00:46:30] can tell me.

[00:46:30] So it says

[00:46:31] detective pack

[00:46:32] or police pack.

[00:46:34] I think the

[00:46:36] equipment proficiencies

[00:46:37] are this red,

[00:46:38] I assume you're

[00:46:39] looking at the red box

[00:46:40] on the sleuth page.

[00:46:42] I think the top part

[00:46:43] where it says

[00:46:44] saving throws,

[00:46:45] skills,

[00:46:45] equipment,

[00:46:46] scientific expertise,

[00:46:47] I thought those

[00:46:48] are all the proficiencies.

[00:46:50] And then the

[00:46:50] recommendations

[00:46:51] are just like

[00:46:52] what from your

[00:46:53] proficient equipment

[00:46:55] they would recommend.

[00:46:55] Yeah.

[00:46:56] There are a lot of,

[00:46:58] and there's a nice

[00:46:59] little free to one

[00:47:01] it tells you where

[00:47:02] you get your talents

[00:47:03] at.

[00:47:03] So level one,

[00:47:04] level three,

[00:47:05] level five,

[00:47:05] seven,

[00:47:05] and nine.

[00:47:06] So apparently we

[00:47:07] can't go to God

[00:47:08] mode.

[00:47:09] That's where John

[00:47:09] Wick is.

[00:47:11] But at level one

[00:47:13] I get a deduction

[00:47:14] ability,

[00:47:14] which is if I

[00:47:16] fail an intelligence

[00:47:16] check,

[00:47:17] I can roll it again

[00:47:18] once per ability

[00:47:18] check.

[00:47:20] And I also get

[00:47:21] a six cents,

[00:47:22] which I thought

[00:47:22] this was really

[00:47:23] cool.

[00:47:23] I can use wisdom

[00:47:24] instead of dexterity

[00:47:25] from any weapon

[00:47:26] that's not marked

[00:47:27] with a heavy

[00:47:28] property.

[00:47:29] And finally,

[00:47:30] I get a weak spot.

[00:47:31] So as a bonus

[00:47:33] action,

[00:47:34] I can spend

[00:47:34] one focus

[00:47:37] to gain

[00:47:38] advantage on my

[00:47:39] next attack

[00:47:39] row.

[00:47:40] And then if I

[00:47:41] hit,

[00:47:41] then I get to

[00:47:42] throw an extra

[00:47:42] D six of damage.

[00:47:44] So,

[00:47:44] yep,

[00:47:45] that's me.

[00:47:46] Anybody else

[00:47:47] want to go ahead

[00:47:48] and finish off

[00:47:48] their arch type?

[00:47:50] Sure.

[00:47:51] For the

[00:47:52] sharpshooter,

[00:47:54] I ended up

[00:47:55] getting two

[00:47:56] abilities,

[00:47:57] one called

[00:47:58] gun slinging,

[00:47:59] where you can

[00:48:00] draw two

[00:48:01] one-handed

[00:48:02] light weapons

[00:48:03] as a free

[00:48:03] action.

[00:48:04] In addition,

[00:48:04] you can reload

[00:48:05] two guns as

[00:48:06] part of the

[00:48:06] same action

[00:48:07] without need

[00:48:07] for a free

[00:48:08] hand.

[00:48:09] So basically,

[00:48:10] you can throw

[00:48:10] the clips

[00:48:11] up into the

[00:48:12] air and use

[00:48:13] them to drop

[00:48:13] down in like

[00:48:14] a good action

[00:48:15] movie should.

[00:48:18] And sharpshooting,

[00:48:19] which when you

[00:48:21] use two-handed

[00:48:21] ranged weapons,

[00:48:22] if you don't

[00:48:22] move during your

[00:48:23] turn,

[00:48:23] you get a plus

[00:48:24] two attack,

[00:48:25] plus two on

[00:48:26] attack rolls

[00:48:27] with that

[00:48:27] weapon.

[00:48:28] In addition,

[00:48:29] you ignore the

[00:48:30] slow firing

[00:48:30] property of

[00:48:31] ranged weapons,

[00:48:31] so you can

[00:48:32] just kind of

[00:48:33] belt them out.

[00:48:34] For proficiencies,

[00:48:35] I got saving

[00:48:36] throw proficiencies

[00:48:37] with dexterity

[00:48:38] intelligence.

[00:48:39] I got to

[00:48:40] pick two

[00:48:42] skills out

[00:48:43] of a list

[00:48:44] of acrobatics,

[00:48:45] intimidation,

[00:48:46] mechanics,

[00:48:47] perceptions,

[00:48:47] sleight of

[00:48:48] hand,

[00:48:48] stealth,

[00:48:48] and vehicles.

[00:48:50] Yeah.

[00:48:50] And for

[00:48:52] equipment,

[00:48:52] I got basic

[00:48:53] equipment and

[00:48:54] advanced equipment

[00:48:55] for proficiencies.

[00:48:57] The equipment

[00:48:58] recommendations were

[00:48:59] the equipment

[00:49:00] pack for

[00:49:01] underworld pack

[00:49:02] or sniper

[00:49:03] pack.

[00:49:03] I chose

[00:49:04] sniper pack.

[00:49:05] And for

[00:49:06] weapons,

[00:49:06] you can get

[00:49:07] two concealed

[00:49:07] carry pistols

[00:49:08] or a sniper

[00:49:09] rifle.

[00:49:10] Okay.

[00:49:11] Cool.

[00:49:12] My character,

[00:49:15] to round out

[00:49:17] my scientist,

[00:49:19] it gave me a

[00:49:20] bunch of

[00:49:21] skills in the

[00:49:22] intelligence field,

[00:49:23] which it

[00:49:25] lists six,

[00:49:26] and you can

[00:49:27] choose three of

[00:49:27] them.

[00:49:28] I chose

[00:49:29] investigation,

[00:49:31] medicine,

[00:49:32] and mechanics.

[00:49:33] And then I

[00:49:34] can take

[00:49:35] proficiency

[00:49:35] and not

[00:49:37] proficiency,

[00:49:38] expertise in

[00:49:38] four of those

[00:49:39] six.

[00:49:39] So I chose

[00:49:40] mechanics and

[00:49:41] medicine.

[00:49:44] And then

[00:49:45] the last thing

[00:49:46] I had to

[00:49:46] choose for my

[00:49:47] scientists is

[00:49:48] we get

[00:49:49] things called

[00:49:50] plans,

[00:49:51] where if you're

[00:49:51] familiar with

[00:49:52] D&D,

[00:49:53] I guess the

[00:49:53] smart hero

[00:49:54] sort of plays

[00:49:55] like a

[00:49:56] sorcerer kind

[00:49:57] of thing,

[00:49:57] where they

[00:49:58] can use

[00:49:59] their special

[00:50:02] profession

[00:50:02] abilities by

[00:50:04] spending genius

[00:50:05] points,

[00:50:06] sort of like

[00:50:06] how the

[00:50:07] sorcerer spends

[00:50:08] sorcerer points

[00:50:09] to do their

[00:50:09] special sorcerer

[00:50:10] abilities.

[00:50:11] So I

[00:50:12] could start

[00:50:13] with three

[00:50:13] plans,

[00:50:15] and I get

[00:50:16] two genius

[00:50:17] points to

[00:50:17] start off

[00:50:17] with.

[00:50:18] So the

[00:50:19] three plans I

[00:50:20] went with

[00:50:21] was know

[00:50:21] the layout,

[00:50:22] so I know

[00:50:23] entrance and

[00:50:24] exits from a

[00:50:25] building,

[00:50:25] the guards

[00:50:26] there,

[00:50:26] the security

[00:50:27] system,

[00:50:28] the floor

[00:50:29] that an

[00:50:30] object or

[00:50:30] person is

[00:50:30] on,

[00:50:31] where the

[00:50:32] stairs and

[00:50:32] elevators are,

[00:50:33] if there's a

[00:50:33] secret room,

[00:50:35] fastest path.

[00:50:36] Like I can

[00:50:36] ask the

[00:50:37] person running

[00:50:38] the game

[00:50:39] to answer

[00:50:39] one of these

[00:50:40] questions,

[00:50:41] which is very

[00:50:42] good when you

[00:50:42] have a sniper,

[00:50:43] especially when

[00:50:44] it's like,

[00:50:44] which floor

[00:50:45] the building

[00:50:45] a person's

[00:50:46] on,

[00:50:47] or what

[00:50:47] are the

[00:50:48] guards like,

[00:50:48] or where

[00:50:49] the exits are.

[00:50:50] So I

[00:50:50] thought that

[00:50:51] would be a

[00:50:51] good sort

[00:50:51] of support

[00:50:52] plan.

[00:50:53] Yeah.

[00:50:54] then to

[00:50:55] go with the

[00:50:56] healing,

[00:50:56] I took

[00:50:56] adrenaline

[00:50:57] shot,

[00:50:59] where I

[00:51:00] give you a

[00:51:02] shot which

[00:51:02] gives you

[00:51:03] temporary hit

[00:51:04] points,

[00:51:04] unless you

[00:51:05] are unconscious

[00:51:06] at zero

[00:51:06] hit points,

[00:51:07] and you

[00:51:07] additionally

[00:51:08] gain one

[00:51:08] normal hit

[00:51:09] point.

[00:51:10] And then to

[00:51:10] round it out,

[00:51:11] they gave the

[00:51:12] option to

[00:51:12] take fireball

[00:51:13] for free.

[00:51:15] I took

[00:51:16] fireball,

[00:51:16] which is

[00:51:17] called

[00:51:17] inferno

[00:51:17] bomb,

[00:51:18] where I do

[00:51:19] 46 fire

[00:51:20] damage in a

[00:51:21] 20 foot

[00:51:21] radius,

[00:51:22] and it

[00:51:22] ignores

[00:51:23] armor.

[00:51:25] Of course

[00:51:25] they could

[00:51:26] pass a

[00:51:26] dex save

[00:51:27] to lessen

[00:51:27] the damage.

[00:51:29] Okay.

[00:51:30] I do

[00:51:30] like your

[00:51:31] first level

[00:51:32] fireball.

[00:51:34] We're

[00:51:35] getting right

[00:51:36] into the

[00:51:37] tail end

[00:51:37] of this

[00:51:38] here.

[00:51:38] So chapter

[00:51:38] five,

[00:51:39] it looks

[00:51:39] like,

[00:51:40] and I

[00:51:41] finally scrolled

[00:51:42] down on my

[00:51:42] character sheet

[00:51:43] enough to

[00:51:44] actually see

[00:51:45] that this is

[00:51:46] five pages.

[00:51:47] I've just

[00:51:47] been on the

[00:51:48] first two

[00:51:48] the whole

[00:51:48] time here.

[00:51:49] But we're

[00:51:50] actually

[00:51:50] going to

[00:51:51] go on

[00:51:51] page three

[00:51:51] of the

[00:51:52] character sheet

[00:51:52] for the

[00:51:53] finishing

[00:51:53] touches.

[00:51:54] So they

[00:51:56] go over

[00:51:56] some quick

[00:51:57] calculations

[00:51:57] like your

[00:51:58] speed,

[00:51:58] proficiency,

[00:51:59] bonuses,

[00:51:59] et cetera,

[00:52:00] et cetera.

[00:52:00] We've already

[00:52:01] taken care of

[00:52:01] all that.

[00:52:02] And now

[00:52:03] we're trying to

[00:52:04] flesh out

[00:52:05] our motivation.

[00:52:06] So this is

[00:52:07] what drives

[00:52:08] you.

[00:52:08] So this

[00:52:09] is on page

[00:52:10] 122.

[00:52:13] So we

[00:52:14] got a lot

[00:52:14] of options

[00:52:15] here,

[00:52:16] quite a

[00:52:17] few,

[00:52:18] but I'll

[00:52:19] give you a

[00:52:19] few examples

[00:52:20] like approval,

[00:52:21] charity creation,

[00:52:22] drugs,

[00:52:23] duty,

[00:52:23] faith,

[00:52:24] family,

[00:52:24] food,

[00:52:25] friendship,

[00:52:26] et cetera,

[00:52:26] et cetera.

[00:52:27] I just read

[00:52:27] off about

[00:52:28] maybe a

[00:52:28] third of

[00:52:28] them.

[00:52:30] I'll go

[00:52:31] ahead and

[00:52:31] jump on

[00:52:31] this one

[00:52:32] first if

[00:52:32] it's okay

[00:52:33] with you

[00:52:33] all.

[00:52:34] So I

[00:52:35] was

[00:52:37] originally

[00:52:37] drawn to

[00:52:38] the idea of

[00:52:39] redemption,

[00:52:40] trying to

[00:52:41] feel guilty

[00:52:41] about

[00:52:42] something I

[00:52:42] did and

[00:52:43] seek to

[00:52:43] make it

[00:52:44] right.

[00:52:44] I think

[00:52:45] I'm still

[00:52:45] going to

[00:52:45] do that,

[00:52:46] but I

[00:52:46] like the

[00:52:47] idea that

[00:52:47] I don't

[00:52:48] know what

[00:52:48] I feel

[00:52:49] guilty

[00:52:50] about,

[00:52:51] but I

[00:52:51] have a

[00:52:51] profound

[00:52:52] sense of

[00:52:53] shame.

[00:52:54] I mean,

[00:52:55] so kind

[00:52:56] of tie into

[00:52:57] eventually in

[00:52:58] the season,

[00:52:59] I'd figure

[00:53:00] out I was

[00:53:01] a horrible

[00:53:02] person,

[00:53:02] what I did

[00:53:02] wrong,

[00:53:03] et cetera,

[00:53:04] et cetera,

[00:53:04] and it

[00:53:05] would explain

[00:53:05] this overarching

[00:53:07] kind of

[00:53:07] feeling that

[00:53:08] I have.

[00:53:10] Nick,

[00:53:11] what

[00:53:12] motivates

[00:53:12] the door

[00:53:13] greeter?

[00:53:14] Or a

[00:53:15] Walmart

[00:53:15] employee,

[00:53:15] excuse me.

[00:53:17] Well,

[00:53:17] I was

[00:53:17] thinking of

[00:53:18] more playing

[00:53:18] towards the

[00:53:19] scientist sort

[00:53:20] of side.

[00:53:20] Oh,

[00:53:20] I'm sorry.

[00:53:22] No,

[00:53:22] no,

[00:53:23] no,

[00:53:23] that's fine.

[00:53:23] That's fine.

[00:53:25] I know I

[00:53:25] made a big

[00:53:26] deal of being

[00:53:26] a door greeter.

[00:53:27] I like that

[00:53:28] though.

[00:53:30] I was

[00:53:31] thinking of

[00:53:31] going for

[00:53:32] the leisure

[00:53:33] sort of

[00:53:33] motivation,

[00:53:35] where I

[00:53:35] like to

[00:53:36] have no

[00:53:37] worries and

[00:53:37] just focus

[00:53:38] on my

[00:53:39] tinkering

[00:53:40] at home

[00:53:40] and my

[00:53:40] experiments

[00:53:41] and just

[00:53:41] the idea

[00:53:42] of something

[00:53:42] terrible being

[00:53:43] out there

[00:53:44] and I

[00:53:44] could do

[00:53:44] something about

[00:53:45] it sort

[00:53:45] of distracts

[00:53:46] me from

[00:53:46] my work

[00:53:47] and I

[00:53:47] hate being

[00:53:48] distracted

[00:53:49] from my

[00:53:49] work.

[00:53:50] So it'd

[00:53:50] be nice if

[00:53:51] everything was

[00:53:52] just fine

[00:53:52] and peaceful

[00:53:54] and I

[00:53:55] could just

[00:53:55] focus on

[00:53:55] my work.

[00:53:58] Which

[00:53:58] leisure,

[00:53:59] it says

[00:53:59] you always

[00:53:59] want to

[00:54:00] relax.

[00:54:00] So I'm

[00:54:01] going to

[00:54:01] play it

[00:54:01] off as

[00:54:01] like my

[00:54:02] characters

[00:54:02] most relaxed

[00:54:03] when they're

[00:54:03] doing some

[00:54:04] science fun.

[00:54:05] Yeah,

[00:54:07] I get it.

[00:54:08] Jeremy,

[00:54:09] what does

[00:54:10] your character

[00:54:10] Glock Winchester

[00:54:11] or Remington,

[00:54:12] what is his

[00:54:13] desires?

[00:54:13] What's his

[00:54:14] motivation?

[00:54:15] Well,

[00:54:15] right now I'm

[00:54:16] torn between

[00:54:16] two of them.

[00:54:17] I'm torn between

[00:54:18] justice and

[00:54:18] revenge because

[00:54:20] they kind of

[00:54:20] feel like two

[00:54:21] sides of the

[00:54:22] same coin.

[00:54:23] Because justice

[00:54:24] is you're

[00:54:25] determined to

[00:54:25] see that justice

[00:54:26] is done whenever

[00:54:27] possible.

[00:54:27] Like somebody

[00:54:28] wronged him and

[00:54:29] he's going to

[00:54:30] deal out justice,

[00:54:31] but also

[00:54:32] revenge is the

[00:54:33] same way.

[00:54:34] You have been

[00:54:34] wronged and

[00:54:34] you want to

[00:54:35] make it right

[00:54:35] by punishing

[00:54:36] your oppressor.

[00:54:37] I think I'm

[00:54:38] going to go

[00:54:38] with revenge

[00:54:39] because maybe

[00:54:41] his background

[00:54:41] is somebody

[00:54:42] left him for

[00:54:43] dead and

[00:54:44] now he's

[00:54:44] going back

[00:54:45] and taking

[00:54:47] out the

[00:54:47] people that

[00:54:48] did it.

[00:54:49] Yep.

[00:54:50] Sounds good.

[00:54:52] There are

[00:54:53] quite a few

[00:54:54] of these

[00:54:54] motivations.

[00:54:55] There's one

[00:54:56] that's like

[00:54:56] sex.

[00:54:57] I was like,

[00:54:57] what?

[00:54:58] Yeah.

[00:54:58] There's some

[00:54:58] of these that

[00:54:59] are definitely

[00:55:00] like,

[00:55:02] you wouldn't

[00:55:03] expect a

[00:55:04] good guy

[00:55:05] to be

[00:55:06] motivated.

[00:55:07] Yeah.

[00:55:08] I guess you

[00:55:09] can be on

[00:55:09] a chaotic

[00:55:09] evil scale

[00:55:11] and there's

[00:55:13] specific

[00:55:13] motivations,

[00:55:14] but we just

[00:55:14] kind of went

[00:55:15] for the other.

[00:55:15] So the

[00:55:16] next thing

[00:55:17] is the

[00:55:17] attachments.

[00:55:18] So the

[00:55:19] attachments are

[00:55:19] the people,

[00:55:20] places,

[00:55:20] and things

[00:55:21] that you

[00:55:22] care most

[00:55:23] about.

[00:55:25] Types of

[00:55:25] attachments,

[00:55:26] celebrity,

[00:55:27] culture,

[00:55:28] family,

[00:55:28] friend,

[00:55:30] hometown,

[00:55:31] media,

[00:55:31] organization,

[00:55:32] pet,

[00:55:33] politics,

[00:55:33] romantic,

[00:55:34] sports team,

[00:55:36] and go

[00:55:37] Bengals,

[00:55:39] and a

[00:55:40] vehicle.

[00:55:41] So John

[00:55:42] Wick's car,

[00:55:42] John Wick's

[00:55:43] dog.

[00:55:44] Honestly,

[00:55:47] attachments,

[00:55:49] I'm torn

[00:55:49] between family

[00:55:50] and friend.

[00:55:52] I think

[00:55:53] I'm going

[00:55:53] to go for

[00:55:54] friend.

[00:55:55] I've traveled

[00:55:56] a lot,

[00:55:57] maybe undisclosed,

[00:55:58] the city

[00:55:58] that we're

[00:55:59] in right

[00:55:59] now.

[00:56:01] I've made

[00:56:02] friends.

[00:56:02] I'd like to

[00:56:03] think it's

[00:56:03] one of these

[00:56:03] deals that

[00:56:04] you see in

[00:56:04] movies,

[00:56:05] a trope

[00:56:06] commonly seen,

[00:56:08] grouchy man

[00:56:09] sitting in

[00:56:10] his apartment,

[00:56:11] kid that

[00:56:12] lives in

[00:56:13] the same

[00:56:13] hallway or

[00:56:13] in the same

[00:56:14] building,

[00:56:14] somehow they

[00:56:15] develop a

[00:56:16] relationship and

[00:56:17] interaction,

[00:56:18] kind of thing

[00:56:19] like that.

[00:56:20] So,

[00:56:21] I mean,

[00:56:21] the Punisher,

[00:56:22] I think that

[00:56:23] Thomas Jane

[00:56:24] version of

[00:56:25] the movie,

[00:56:25] had something

[00:56:26] like that,

[00:56:27] that Sylvester

[00:56:29] Stallone superhero

[00:56:30] movie from

[00:56:31] Amazon,

[00:56:32] I can't remember

[00:56:33] what it was

[00:56:33] called.

[00:56:34] Oh,

[00:56:34] Samaritan.

[00:56:35] Samaritan,

[00:56:36] which,

[00:56:36] but better

[00:56:37] than it

[00:56:37] should have

[00:56:38] been,

[00:56:39] I thought

[00:56:39] anyway.

[00:56:40] So,

[00:56:41] yeah,

[00:56:41] there's a

[00:56:42] kid that

[00:56:43] I'm willing

[00:56:44] to mow

[00:56:44] through everybody

[00:56:45] to protect

[00:56:47] them.

[00:56:48] I think I

[00:56:49] was going

[00:56:49] to go for

[00:56:50] family now

[00:56:50] that you

[00:56:50] mentioned it

[00:56:51] because I

[00:56:52] recently re-watched

[00:56:54] the movie

[00:56:54] Nobody with

[00:56:55] Bob Odenkirk

[00:56:56] and one of

[00:56:58] the lines that

[00:56:58] stuck out to

[00:56:59] me is whenever

[00:57:00] he's sitting

[00:57:00] in Julian's

[00:57:03] nightclub

[00:57:03] and he said,

[00:57:05] you came after

[00:57:05] my family and

[00:57:06] that's one thing

[00:57:07] you do not

[00:57:07] fucking do.

[00:57:08] You came to

[00:57:09] my house.

[00:57:10] That was such

[00:57:11] a good movie.

[00:57:12] Yeah,

[00:57:12] it was a

[00:57:13] fantastic movie.

[00:57:14] I love it.

[00:57:14] The scene in

[00:57:15] the tattoo parlor

[00:57:16] where the guy

[00:57:17] recognizes his

[00:57:17] tattoo.

[00:57:19] Yeah.

[00:57:20] He just

[00:57:20] starts,

[00:57:21] the guy leaves

[00:57:22] and you just

[00:57:22] hear all the

[00:57:24] locks clicking

[00:57:25] and then all of a

[00:57:26] sudden he shuts

[00:57:26] the grate.

[00:57:27] Thank you for

[00:57:28] your service.

[00:57:30] Nick,

[00:57:31] how about

[00:57:32] yourself,

[00:57:32] sir?

[00:57:33] I think I'm

[00:57:34] going to go

[00:57:35] with a pet.

[00:57:37] Probably more

[00:57:38] typically a cat

[00:57:40] because I could

[00:57:41] just lay out

[00:57:41] the food and

[00:57:42] the water,

[00:57:43] check the

[00:57:44] litter bin for

[00:57:44] a second.

[00:57:45] It does its

[00:57:46] thing.

[00:57:46] I do

[00:57:47] mice thing

[00:57:48] most of

[00:57:48] the time.

[00:57:49] When I lay

[00:57:50] down to sleep

[00:57:51] or take a

[00:57:52] break, it

[00:57:53] always comes

[00:57:53] over and

[00:57:54] curls up.

[00:57:56] Nice,

[00:57:57] simple relationship

[00:57:58] and attachment.

[00:57:59] Yeah.

[00:58:00] The ones that

[00:58:01] attachments do

[00:58:02] have details,

[00:58:03] by the way,

[00:58:04] Chinchilla would

[00:58:04] also have been

[00:58:05] an awesome one

[00:58:05] too.

[00:58:06] Wonderful little

[00:58:07] rodents.

[00:58:08] That's my

[00:58:08] possum.

[00:58:37] I do love

[00:58:38] family reunion

[00:58:39] was shot up

[00:58:40] or what I

[00:58:41] mean.

[00:58:42] Those are the

[00:58:44] three that

[00:58:44] looks like

[00:58:45] they have

[00:58:45] something.

[00:58:48] Biography.

[00:58:49] Now,

[00:58:49] your biography

[00:58:50] is what's

[00:58:51] your life's

[00:58:51] journey thus

[00:58:52] far.

[00:58:53] So,

[00:58:54] this is

[00:58:56] something a

[00:58:57] little bit

[00:58:57] more long

[00:58:58] form.

[00:59:00] There is a

[00:59:01] section on

[00:59:01] the character

[00:59:02] sheet.

[00:59:03] I've

[00:59:03] summarized

[00:59:04] mine.

[00:59:04] my concept

[00:59:05] was I

[00:59:07] came to

[00:59:08] at some

[00:59:09] point.

[00:59:10] I have

[00:59:11] vague notions

[00:59:11] of going

[00:59:12] through,

[00:59:13] of having a

[00:59:14] family and

[00:59:14] a house.

[00:59:16] Well,

[00:59:16] not my own,

[00:59:17] but being

[00:59:17] raised by

[00:59:18] parents.

[00:59:18] I have

[00:59:19] vague

[00:59:19] memories of

[00:59:20] school,

[00:59:21] blurry faces

[00:59:22] wherever

[00:59:22] there should

[00:59:22] be.

[00:59:23] I

[00:59:24] apparently

[00:59:26] have learned

[00:59:27] maybe some

[00:59:28] college,

[00:59:29] maybe school

[00:59:31] of hard

[00:59:31] knocks.

[00:59:31] It's all

[00:59:32] a blurb,

[00:59:33] but I know

[00:59:33] how to do

[00:59:33] things and

[00:59:34] I know

[00:59:35] what to

[00:59:36] watch for

[00:59:37] and things

[00:59:37] like that.

[00:59:39] And I

[00:59:40] did say my

[00:59:41] character's

[00:59:41] name was

[00:59:41] going to

[00:59:41] be 13,

[00:59:42] but I

[00:59:42] doubt that

[00:59:43] they're going

[00:59:43] to be

[00:59:44] given tax

[00:59:44] papers for

[00:59:45] being a

[00:59:45] repo man

[00:59:46] for,

[00:59:46] all right,

[00:59:47] 13,

[00:59:48] Johnson.

[00:59:50] So,

[00:59:51] I'll say

[00:59:52] that I

[00:59:55] am basically

[00:59:55] probably working

[00:59:57] for cash

[00:59:58] and stuff

[00:59:59] like that,

[01:00:00] and I may

[01:00:00] actually go by

[01:00:01] the name

[01:00:02] of Roy.

[01:00:05] Roy

[01:00:06] 13.

[01:00:07] Roy

[01:00:07] 13.

[01:00:09] Roy

[01:00:10] Little.

[01:00:11] That's my

[01:00:12] name that

[01:00:13] I made

[01:00:14] up for

[01:00:14] myself.

[01:00:16] Roy

[01:00:17] Little

[01:00:17] 13.

[01:00:19] What about

[01:00:20] yourself?

[01:00:21] name?

[01:00:21] Roy.

[01:00:23] Roy T.

[01:00:25] Mercer.

[01:00:29] God,

[01:00:29] they picked

[01:00:29] a horrible

[01:00:30] name for

[01:00:30] an example.

[01:00:32] So,

[01:00:33] the example

[01:00:33] they have

[01:00:34] Joyce

[01:00:34] Meyer,

[01:00:36] Jason Meyer,

[01:00:37] Chris Hansen.

[01:00:40] You grew up

[01:00:41] in foster care.

[01:00:42] I took

[01:00:43] out your

[01:00:43] predator.

[01:00:44] Yeah,

[01:00:45] and then

[01:00:46] Damon

[01:00:46] Johnson.

[01:00:47] So,

[01:00:48] anything on

[01:00:49] your biography

[01:00:49] you want to

[01:00:50] kind of add

[01:00:50] in there for

[01:00:51] listeners that

[01:00:51] we can type

[01:00:52] into our

[01:00:52] worksheet later?

[01:00:53] Honestly,

[01:00:54] my guy is

[01:00:55] essentially

[01:00:56] just a

[01:00:56] character.

[01:00:57] He's

[01:00:58] essentially an

[01:00:59] extra from

[01:00:59] the movie

[01:01:00] Replacement

[01:01:01] Killers with

[01:01:02] Cha Young

[01:01:02] Fat and

[01:01:03] Mira Sovina.

[01:01:05] He's a

[01:01:06] on-the-run

[01:01:07] ex-triad

[01:01:09] member

[01:01:10] named

[01:01:11] Yi Chen

[01:01:12] Wu.

[01:01:12] He

[01:01:14] was set

[01:01:15] up to

[01:01:16] be taken

[01:01:17] out on

[01:01:17] the job

[01:01:18] and

[01:01:19] become a

[01:01:20] patsy

[01:01:20] and somehow

[01:01:21] see he

[01:01:21] survived

[01:01:22] and the

[01:01:23] rest of

[01:01:24] the movie

[01:01:25] John Wick

[01:01:26] happens.

[01:01:28] Yeah,

[01:01:29] for my

[01:01:30] biography,

[01:01:31] I guess,

[01:01:32] not really

[01:01:33] pulling it

[01:01:34] for inspiration

[01:01:34] from anywhere,

[01:01:35] but like I

[01:01:36] said previously,

[01:01:37] it's probably

[01:01:37] more of

[01:01:40] good in

[01:01:41] science,

[01:01:42] gifted in it,

[01:01:43] went into the

[01:01:43] field,

[01:01:44] did well in

[01:01:44] college,

[01:01:45] got a job,

[01:01:46] seemed to be

[01:01:47] doing well,

[01:01:48] and then

[01:01:49] the event

[01:01:50] happened,

[01:01:50] that sort of

[01:01:51] the big

[01:01:51] mistake,

[01:01:52] got me

[01:01:53] fired and

[01:01:53] everything,

[01:01:54] I spent my

[01:01:55] collective money

[01:01:56] on my own

[01:01:57] lab equipment,

[01:01:59] and then I

[01:02:00] just tried to

[01:02:00] make by with

[01:02:01] what I can,

[01:02:04] you know,

[01:02:04] don't really

[01:02:05] buy any new

[01:02:06] lab,

[01:02:06] like all the

[01:02:06] money I get

[01:02:07] usually goes

[01:02:07] towards either

[01:02:08] taking care of

[01:02:09] me,

[01:02:09] my cat,

[01:02:10] or my

[01:02:12] makeshift

[01:02:12] home lab,

[01:02:15] and just

[01:02:16] getting by

[01:02:16] and when

[01:02:17] some of my

[01:02:18] old colleagues

[01:02:18] need help

[01:02:19] or something,

[01:02:20] I'll,

[01:02:20] you know,

[01:02:21] help them

[01:02:21] out.

[01:02:22] Sounds good.

[01:02:23] Do you

[01:02:24] kind of

[01:02:25] rewind on to

[01:02:25] the next one

[01:02:26] is a belief

[01:02:26] system

[01:02:28] of informed

[01:02:29] how they

[01:02:29] make their

[01:02:29] way in the

[01:02:30] world.

[01:02:31] It mentions

[01:02:32] there's

[01:02:32] religious

[01:02:32] beliefs

[01:02:34] and

[01:02:34] philosophical

[01:02:35] beliefs,

[01:02:36] and then they

[01:02:36] offer

[01:02:36] proverbs,

[01:02:38] proverbs

[01:02:38] are statements

[01:02:39] about the

[01:02:40] nature of

[01:02:40] reality and

[01:02:41] whatnot,

[01:02:41] so you're

[01:02:42] giving a lot

[01:02:43] of leeway

[01:02:44] here.

[01:02:45] I

[01:02:46] honestly,

[01:02:48] this

[01:02:49] logic

[01:02:49] would be

[01:02:50] my belief,

[01:02:52] like,

[01:02:53] you have

[01:02:53] to,

[01:02:54] you know,

[01:02:55] it's the

[01:02:55] methodology

[01:02:56] of it,

[01:02:57] you know,

[01:02:57] like,

[01:02:57] you've got to

[01:02:58] figure this

[01:02:58] out,

[01:02:58] you do

[01:02:59] this,

[01:02:59] this equals

[01:02:59] that,

[01:03:00] et cetera,

[01:03:00] et cetera,

[01:03:01] and in a

[01:03:02] world where

[01:03:03] you don't

[01:03:04] remember a

[01:03:04] lot,

[01:03:05] it's nice

[01:03:06] to have

[01:03:07] at least

[01:03:08] knowing that

[01:03:09] you had the

[01:03:09] ability that

[01:03:10] you can

[01:03:10] figure things

[01:03:11] out,

[01:03:11] so I'm

[01:03:12] kind of

[01:03:12] going with

[01:03:13] logic.

[01:03:14] What about

[01:03:15] you all?

[01:03:16] I would

[01:03:17] usually go

[01:03:17] with logic,

[01:03:18] but I

[01:03:18] feel like

[01:03:19] my time

[01:03:21] in the

[01:03:21] customer service

[01:03:22] field would

[01:03:23] make me

[01:03:23] realize that

[01:03:24] there actually

[01:03:24] is no

[01:03:24] logic in

[01:03:25] this world.

[01:03:26] So my

[01:03:26] logic is

[01:03:27] that there

[01:03:28] is no

[01:03:28] logic.

[01:03:29] And I

[01:03:30] completely

[01:03:30] space on

[01:03:31] what you're

[01:03:31] talking about,

[01:03:32] so.

[01:03:34] Just a belief

[01:03:35] system.

[01:03:35] Are you

[01:03:36] religious?

[01:03:36] Is there

[01:03:37] any kind

[01:03:37] of philosophical

[01:03:38] thing?

[01:03:39] Are you

[01:03:40] kind of

[01:03:41] zen-ish?

[01:03:42] I think

[01:03:43] he's kind

[01:03:43] of a

[01:03:44] very tit

[01:03:44] for tat

[01:03:45] kind of

[01:03:45] eye for

[01:03:46] an eye

[01:03:46] type guy.

[01:03:47] If you

[01:03:48] hit me,

[01:03:49] I'll hit

[01:03:49] you back

[01:03:50] twice as

[01:03:50] hard.

[01:03:51] But if

[01:03:51] you're

[01:03:52] cool with

[01:03:53] me,

[01:03:53] then you're

[01:03:54] my friend

[01:03:55] for life.

[01:03:56] Okay.

[01:03:57] Cool.

[01:03:58] There are

[01:03:59] some fields

[01:03:59] under this.

[01:04:00] It's like

[01:04:00] ancestry.

[01:04:01] Like we

[01:04:02] would pick

[01:04:02] our ancestry

[01:04:03] quirks and

[01:04:04] virtues.

[01:04:05] Quirks is

[01:04:06] not listed

[01:04:07] in the

[01:04:07] book.

[01:04:09] Appearance

[01:04:09] wise,

[01:04:11] I'll leave

[01:04:11] this up

[01:04:12] if anybody

[01:04:12] wants to

[01:04:13] play this

[01:04:13] character.

[01:04:14] I was

[01:04:14] just thinking

[01:04:15] of a

[01:04:15] nondescript

[01:04:15] average

[01:04:16] person.

[01:04:17] Nothing,

[01:04:18] you know.

[01:04:20] In these

[01:04:20] kind of

[01:04:20] games,

[01:04:21] I typically

[01:04:21] don't like

[01:04:22] to hard

[01:04:23] define quirks

[01:04:24] and personalities

[01:04:25] and just

[01:04:26] let that

[01:04:26] naturally

[01:04:26] come out

[01:04:27] and role

[01:04:28] playing.

[01:04:29] See how

[01:04:29] you fit

[01:04:29] with the

[01:04:30] group and

[01:04:30] everything

[01:04:31] and just

[01:04:31] let it

[01:04:31] flow from

[01:04:32] there.

[01:04:35] That sounds

[01:04:35] good.

[01:04:36] I mean,

[01:04:36] virtues,

[01:04:38] yeah,

[01:04:38] I think

[01:04:39] they give

[01:04:39] you a

[01:04:40] lot of

[01:04:40] options

[01:04:40] about

[01:04:40] virtues.

[01:04:42] And I

[01:04:43] did find

[01:04:43] the quirks

[01:04:44] and the

[01:04:44] flaws.

[01:04:46] I'll leave

[01:04:46] that up for

[01:04:47] interpretation.

[01:04:48] Let that

[01:04:48] come out.

[01:04:49] I kind of

[01:04:49] have the

[01:04:49] same approach,

[01:04:50] Nick,

[01:04:50] whenever there's

[01:04:51] relationships

[01:04:52] predefined for

[01:04:52] a party.

[01:04:54] Yeah.

[01:04:54] Say like

[01:04:55] alien.

[01:04:56] And there's

[01:04:57] always like

[01:04:58] this person

[01:04:58] is trying to

[01:04:59] screw you

[01:04:59] over,

[01:05:00] this one

[01:05:00] believes that,

[01:05:01] et cetera,

[01:05:01] et cetera.

[01:05:02] I'd rather,

[01:05:03] I know it's a

[01:05:04] good starting

[01:05:04] point for some

[01:05:05] people,

[01:05:06] but I'd

[01:05:06] rather

[01:05:07] flesh it out.

[01:05:10] Let it be

[01:05:11] more vague.

[01:05:11] It's like,

[01:05:12] yeah,

[01:05:12] you want to

[01:05:12] betray

[01:05:14] someone and

[01:05:14] then you

[01:05:15] could let

[01:05:15] the person

[01:05:15] decide based

[01:05:17] on how

[01:05:17] everything

[01:05:17] unfolds,

[01:05:18] where the

[01:05:18] best betrayal

[01:05:19] fits in instead

[01:05:20] of specifically

[01:05:21] saying like,

[01:05:22] betray this one

[01:05:22] person.

[01:05:23] Well,

[01:05:24] and you

[01:05:24] want to let

[01:05:24] that build

[01:05:25] organically

[01:05:25] during play

[01:05:26] versus just,

[01:05:28] oh,

[01:05:28] I'm going to

[01:05:28] go screw

[01:05:28] this guy

[01:05:29] and then it

[01:05:30] just becomes

[01:05:30] unfun because

[01:05:31] you constantly

[01:05:31] screw one

[01:05:32] guy over.

[01:05:33] Yeah.

[01:05:34] So,

[01:05:35] honestly,

[01:05:36] I think for

[01:05:37] intents and

[01:05:38] purposes of

[01:05:39] the show,

[01:05:39] we've done

[01:05:40] it.

[01:05:40] I want to

[01:05:41] thank you all

[01:05:41] first off,

[01:05:42] not that I'm

[01:05:43] wanting to exit

[01:05:43] us out of this

[01:05:44] podcast right

[01:05:45] to second,

[01:05:45] but I'm

[01:05:46] not very

[01:05:48] familiar with

[01:05:49] 5e stuff or

[01:05:51] really anything

[01:05:52] D20.

[01:05:53] I never

[01:05:54] was something

[01:05:54] I played

[01:05:55] 3.5 back

[01:05:56] when I was

[01:05:57] like in

[01:05:57] late teens

[01:05:57] and then

[01:05:58] it kind

[01:05:59] of,

[01:05:59] I've lost

[01:06:00] it and

[01:06:00] then jump

[01:06:01] back into

[01:06:01] role-playing

[01:06:01] games.

[01:06:02] It was

[01:06:02] more Cthulhu

[01:06:02] and things

[01:06:03] like that.

[01:06:03] So I

[01:06:04] really don't

[01:06:05] think I

[01:06:05] would have

[01:06:05] had as

[01:06:06] easy of a

[01:06:06] job without

[01:06:07] you guys

[01:06:07] here.

[01:06:08] But at the

[01:06:09] same time,

[01:06:09] I do,

[01:06:10] I am

[01:06:11] impressed with

[01:06:14] how easy

[01:06:14] it was with

[01:06:16] this book.

[01:06:16] I mean,

[01:06:17] I'm currently

[01:06:18] on page 131.

[01:06:19] Now,

[01:06:19] I haven't read

[01:06:20] all these pages

[01:06:20] and stuff like

[01:06:21] I didn't have

[01:06:22] to,

[01:06:22] but we

[01:06:23] went through

[01:06:25] about a

[01:06:26] fourth of the

[01:06:26] book just

[01:06:27] with character

[01:06:28] creation and

[01:06:29] it seemed

[01:06:30] like it was

[01:06:30] fairly quick

[01:06:31] and it

[01:06:32] answered all

[01:06:32] the questions

[01:06:34] as well.

[01:06:35] I was thinking

[01:06:35] of a lot

[01:06:35] of options

[01:06:36] for character

[01:06:37] creation too,

[01:06:38] surprisingly.

[01:06:39] I don't

[01:06:39] think two

[01:06:40] people could

[01:06:40] make the

[01:06:40] same character

[01:06:41] if they

[01:06:42] didn't try.

[01:06:44] Yeah.

[01:06:45] I can see

[01:06:46] how if you

[01:06:47] look through,

[01:06:48] if you decided

[01:06:48] you wanted to

[01:06:49] make John

[01:06:50] Wick and you

[01:06:51] went through

[01:06:52] beforehand and

[01:06:53] kind of looked

[01:06:53] at the archetypes

[01:06:55] and the backgrounds

[01:06:56] and all that,

[01:06:57] I can see how

[01:06:58] one could easily

[01:06:59] kind of,

[01:07:00] you know,

[01:07:01] create something

[01:07:02] similar to that.

[01:07:02] So I do

[01:07:03] believe that

[01:07:04] the letter,

[01:07:04] that what they

[01:07:05] state is true,

[01:07:06] that you could

[01:07:07] create your,

[01:07:08] your hero

[01:07:09] that you wanted

[01:07:10] to in this,

[01:07:12] in this shape,

[01:07:12] form or fashion.

[01:07:13] I just chose

[01:07:14] to not do that

[01:07:15] and just kind

[01:07:15] of make 13 Roy

[01:07:17] little,

[01:07:19] uh,

[01:07:19] put him out

[01:07:20] there.

[01:07:20] But I mean,

[01:07:21] I think it's

[01:07:22] fun.

[01:07:22] So off the top

[01:07:24] of your head,

[01:07:25] I know I've stated

[01:07:25] that I enjoyed

[01:07:26] playing at least

[01:07:28] the crow and

[01:07:29] I enjoyed the

[01:07:29] game,

[01:07:30] uh,

[01:07:30] when I played

[01:07:31] it.

[01:07:31] What's your

[01:07:31] all's impressions

[01:07:32] of everyday

[01:07:33] heroes,

[01:07:33] at least through

[01:07:34] character creation?

[01:07:35] So far,

[01:07:36] I think it's

[01:07:36] really good.

[01:07:37] It's a really

[01:07:38] slick system.

[01:07:39] It's a really

[01:07:40] nice upgrade

[01:07:41] to the,

[01:07:43] uh,

[01:07:44] D20 modern

[01:07:45] system where

[01:07:46] they push this

[01:07:47] one up to 5e.

[01:07:48] They streamlined

[01:07:49] it.

[01:07:49] They put more

[01:07:51] almost like

[01:07:51] packs in so

[01:07:52] you could just

[01:07:53] kind of pick

[01:07:53] and choose and

[01:07:54] build your

[01:07:54] characters off of

[01:07:55] that instead

[01:07:55] of having to

[01:07:56] piece it out.

[01:07:56] it flowed

[01:07:58] really nicely

[01:07:58] once we got

[01:07:59] used to it.

[01:08:00] And you can

[01:08:00] put as little

[01:08:01] or as much

[01:08:02] thought into

[01:08:02] it as you

[01:08:02] want,

[01:08:03] which is

[01:08:03] cool.

[01:08:04] Awesome.

[01:08:05] Yeah,

[01:08:06] I think it's

[01:08:06] very nice,

[01:08:06] especially if

[01:08:07] you want to

[01:08:07] like say

[01:08:09] you're sick

[01:08:10] of D&D

[01:08:10] and you want

[01:08:11] to get your

[01:08:11] group away

[01:08:12] from the D

[01:08:13] sort of

[01:08:14] setting.

[01:08:15] A lot of

[01:08:16] this stuff

[01:08:17] you can easily

[01:08:18] translate over

[01:08:18] like maybe

[01:08:20] not like the

[01:08:20] numbers are the

[01:08:21] same and the

[01:08:22] names are

[01:08:22] obviously not

[01:08:22] the same,

[01:08:23] but there's

[01:08:23] a lot of

[01:08:24] like very

[01:08:24] similar effects.

[01:08:25] So you can

[01:08:25] easily like if

[01:08:26] you wanted

[01:08:26] to bring

[01:08:27] your group

[01:08:27] into like

[01:08:27] a modern

[01:08:28] setting.

[01:08:28] This is

[01:08:29] very good

[01:08:30] for that.

[01:08:32] I have,

[01:08:34] I like how

[01:08:35] just the rest

[01:08:36] of the books

[01:08:36] just filled

[01:08:37] with,

[01:08:37] you know,

[01:08:38] vehicles and

[01:08:39] weapons and

[01:08:40] different like

[01:08:40] things like

[01:08:41] that.

[01:08:41] I mean,

[01:08:42] there's tons

[01:08:42] of it here.

[01:08:43] They did

[01:08:44] release it

[01:08:44] with,

[01:08:46] there was a

[01:08:47] like little

[01:08:48] scenario where

[01:08:49] your group

[01:08:49] of mercenaries

[01:08:50] that was going

[01:08:51] in and taking

[01:08:51] out a warlord

[01:08:52] somewhere.

[01:08:52] And since

[01:08:53] then they've

[01:08:54] released a

[01:08:54] bunch of

[01:08:55] like the

[01:08:55] movie packages

[01:08:56] and stuff

[01:08:57] like that.

[01:08:57] I know on

[01:08:57] DriveThruRPG

[01:08:59] they've got

[01:09:00] stuff about

[01:09:00] if you want

[01:09:01] to play

[01:09:01] a motorcycle

[01:09:03] game.

[01:09:03] I have

[01:09:04] noticed that

[01:09:05] on there.

[01:09:06] And honestly

[01:09:07] on Kickstarter

[01:09:08] right now,

[01:09:09] currently they've

[01:09:10] got like this

[01:09:10] armory Kickstarter

[01:09:11] to where it's

[01:09:12] just a

[01:09:13] gigantic book

[01:09:14] full of guns.

[01:09:15] guns and

[01:09:16] I mean,

[01:09:17] I'm kind of

[01:09:18] used to the

[01:09:19] powered by the

[01:09:20] apocalypse gumshoe

[01:09:21] like whatever

[01:09:22] you got,

[01:09:22] this gun does

[01:09:23] this damage,

[01:09:24] this gun does

[01:09:24] this.

[01:09:25] But there's

[01:09:26] kind of some

[01:09:26] coolness to

[01:09:27] customizing,

[01:09:28] especially if

[01:09:29] you know,

[01:09:29] if you're

[01:09:30] familiar with

[01:09:31] faction films

[01:09:31] and you know

[01:09:32] that Rambo

[01:09:33] had an M60

[01:09:34] mowing people

[01:09:35] down and

[01:09:36] things like

[01:09:36] that,

[01:09:36] you could do

[01:09:36] this.

[01:09:38] I purchased

[01:09:39] when I did

[01:09:40] this original

[01:09:42] Kickstarter,

[01:09:43] I backed it

[01:09:43] at the PDF

[01:09:44] level.

[01:09:45] Which I got

[01:09:45] the PDF for

[01:09:46] like 10 bucks.

[01:09:46] But when I

[01:09:47] did that,

[01:09:47] it gave me

[01:09:48] the option

[01:09:49] to purchase

[01:09:49] the Foundry

[01:09:50] VTT asset

[01:09:52] package,

[01:09:53] which is the

[01:09:54] reason I

[01:09:54] did it.

[01:09:54] So if we

[01:09:56] ever actually

[01:09:56] run this,

[01:09:59] I can do

[01:10:00] it in Foundry

[01:10:01] and then you

[01:10:01] have access

[01:10:02] not just to

[01:10:02] Compendium,

[01:10:03] but you have

[01:10:03] the lists

[01:10:04] and stuff

[01:10:05] like that

[01:10:05] to where

[01:10:06] if your

[01:10:06] character

[01:10:07] shoot,

[01:10:07] you want

[01:10:07] your person

[01:10:08] to have

[01:10:10] a sniper

[01:10:10] rifle,

[01:10:11] Jeremy,

[01:10:12] you just

[01:10:12] go to

[01:10:12] weapons,

[01:10:13] sniper,

[01:10:13] drag it

[01:10:13] over.

[01:10:14] And I

[01:10:15] think that's

[01:10:15] kind of

[01:10:16] cool,

[01:10:17] like being

[01:10:17] able to

[01:10:17] have that

[01:10:18] ability.

[01:10:18] And I

[01:10:19] already purchased

[01:10:20] a crow on

[01:10:20] this.

[01:10:22] So Nick,

[01:10:23] if you

[01:10:23] wanted to

[01:10:24] actually do

[01:10:25] this,

[01:10:25] I mean,

[01:10:25] we could

[01:10:25] throw the

[01:10:26] science guy

[01:10:27] in as a

[01:10:28] crow or

[01:10:29] go through

[01:10:29] their,

[01:10:30] they had their

[01:10:30] own kind of

[01:10:31] character

[01:10:31] creations or

[01:10:32] archetypes and

[01:10:33] stuff like that.

[01:10:33] so you

[01:10:34] could actually

[01:10:34] take this

[01:10:35] core concept

[01:10:36] of you

[01:10:36] were the

[01:10:36] science guy

[01:10:38] and you

[01:10:40] were wronged

[01:10:40] and you

[01:10:41] die and

[01:10:42] then you're

[01:10:43] brought back

[01:10:43] as this

[01:10:44] revenant to

[01:10:44] get revenge

[01:10:45] kind of thing

[01:10:46] like that.

[01:10:46] So it's

[01:10:47] pretty neat.

[01:10:48] Yeah.

[01:10:49] I think we

[01:10:50] mentioned

[01:10:51] before this

[01:10:51] that it would

[01:10:52] also,

[01:10:52] if a cool

[01:10:53] concept would

[01:10:54] be like,

[01:10:56] say you're

[01:10:56] playing just a

[01:10:57] normal game of

[01:10:58] everyday heroes

[01:10:59] and then

[01:10:59] your entire

[01:10:59] squad just

[01:11:00] like wipes

[01:11:02] or you

[01:11:05] could have

[01:11:05] each one

[01:11:05] come back

[01:11:06] as like a

[01:11:07] crow or

[01:11:08] revenant brought

[01:11:09] back by a

[01:11:09] different thing

[01:11:10] or like the

[01:11:12] big bad you

[01:11:13] finished off

[01:11:14] or whatever

[01:11:15] comes back and

[01:11:16] you gotta deal

[01:11:17] with them again

[01:11:17] except,

[01:11:18] you know,

[01:11:19] they just keep

[01:11:20] coming back.

[01:11:23] That would be

[01:11:24] a fun way

[01:11:24] to put a

[01:11:25] twist to your

[01:11:26] campaign if

[01:11:27] it's getting a

[01:11:27] little stale.

[01:11:28] Yeah.

[01:11:29] Or if

[01:11:29] something terribly,

[01:11:30] terribly bad

[01:11:31] happens to your

[01:11:32] group and

[01:11:32] you TPK.

[01:11:33] That would be

[01:11:34] a fun TPK

[01:11:35] thing.

[01:11:35] All of a sudden

[01:11:36] one of them

[01:11:36] comes back as

[01:11:37] either a

[01:11:38] Highlander or

[01:11:39] a crow and

[01:11:40] then you start

[01:11:40] a whole new

[01:11:41] series.

[01:11:42] God,

[01:11:42] I'd have to

[01:11:42] buy all the

[01:11:43] different source

[01:11:43] books like

[01:11:44] you come back

[01:11:44] as a universal

[01:11:45] soldier,

[01:11:46] you come back

[01:11:47] as a crow.

[01:11:48] They rebuild

[01:11:49] you, make you

[01:11:49] stronger,

[01:11:50] faster.

[01:11:53] It's fun.

[01:11:54] I look forward

[01:11:54] to seeing what

[01:11:55] they're going to

[01:11:55] end up doing

[01:11:56] now that they've

[01:11:56] kind of done

[01:11:57] their original

[01:11:58] cinematic

[01:11:58] run.

[01:11:59] I'm sure

[01:12:00] I do remember

[01:12:01] in our

[01:12:02] conversations,

[01:12:02] because I did

[01:12:03] go over and

[01:12:03] join you,

[01:12:04] was talking to

[01:12:04] Brian at

[01:12:05] Gen Con

[01:12:05] that there's

[01:12:08] other, I

[01:12:09] mean, talks

[01:12:10] with other

[01:12:10] people and

[01:12:11] how Woody

[01:12:11] never told us

[01:12:12] anything like

[01:12:12] that, but

[01:12:12] there's other

[01:12:13] properties that

[01:12:14] they're kind of

[01:12:14] working on

[01:12:15] gaining the

[01:12:15] rights to

[01:12:17] to do another

[01:12:18] cinematic kind

[01:12:19] of campaigns

[01:12:20] with.

[01:12:20] So, I

[01:12:21] mean, this

[01:12:22] looks fun.

[01:12:24] I mean, I

[01:12:26] could run

[01:12:26] Commando in

[01:12:27] this.

[01:12:27] I could run

[01:12:27] God, I

[01:12:28] mean, you

[01:12:28] could run

[01:12:29] Predator.

[01:12:29] You could do

[01:12:30] whatever you

[01:12:30] kind of want.

[01:12:30] I mean, I

[01:12:31] feel it's going

[01:12:32] to be hard for

[01:12:33] me not to

[01:12:33] make this an

[01:12:34] 80s action

[01:12:35] film montage

[01:12:36] of scenarios.

[01:12:39] We need a

[01:12:40] montage.

[01:12:43] Even Rocky

[01:12:44] had a

[01:12:44] montage.

[01:12:47] Well, any

[01:12:48] other closing

[01:12:48] thoughts before

[01:12:49] we go ahead and

[01:12:50] put a bow on

[01:12:50] this, gentlemen?

[01:12:51] No, this was a

[01:12:52] lot of fun.

[01:12:53] I appreciate you

[01:12:53] having me and

[01:12:54] I look forward to

[01:12:56] actually getting

[01:12:56] out and playing

[01:12:57] with it sometime.

[01:12:58] So, stay tuned.

[01:12:59] Thank you for

[01:13:00] inviting me and

[01:13:03] I think I'll

[01:13:04] probably convince

[01:13:06] my long,

[01:13:07] long, long,

[01:13:09] long time D&D

[01:13:10] group of

[01:13:10] maybe trying

[01:13:11] something new.

[01:13:13] Yeah.

[01:13:14] Got to ease

[01:13:15] them into it.

[01:13:16] You know, you

[01:13:18] still got the

[01:13:18] D20 system, so

[01:13:19] it's a little

[01:13:20] comforting.

[01:13:21] Yeah, definitely.

[01:13:22] Thank you.

[01:13:23] My pleasure.

[01:13:24] And for those

[01:13:24] of you tuning

[01:13:25] in, if you're

[01:13:26] listening to

[01:13:26] this in the

[01:13:27] month of July,

[01:13:28] at the tail

[01:13:29] end of it,

[01:13:29] because it's

[01:13:30] the 23rd today,

[01:13:31] I'd like to

[01:13:32] thank you because

[01:13:33] that means that

[01:13:33] you're a Patreon

[01:13:34] subscriber and

[01:13:36] we appreciate

[01:13:37] all that.

[01:13:38] We are

[01:13:39] basically,

[01:13:39] all the

[01:13:41] money that we

[01:13:41] make from

[01:13:42] Patreon just

[01:13:43] goes to

[01:13:43] keep hosting

[01:13:44] Bay,

[01:13:45] the hosting

[01:13:45] bills at

[01:13:46] Bay,

[01:13:46] and I

[01:13:46] actually took

[01:13:47] the Patreon

[01:13:47] money and

[01:13:48] purchased that

[01:13:48] crow supplement

[01:13:49] that I was

[01:13:49] talking about

[01:13:50] there.

[01:13:51] So, thank

[01:13:52] you.

[01:13:52] Your patronage

[01:13:53] has enabled

[01:13:54] us to do

[01:13:55] this and

[01:13:56] enabled me to

[01:13:56] hopefully run

[01:13:57] a crow for

[01:13:57] my friends

[01:13:58] someday.

[01:13:59] And if you're

[01:14:00] listening to

[01:14:00] this three or

[01:14:02] four months

[01:14:02] from now,

[01:14:03] so if you're

[01:14:03] listening to

[01:14:04] this in

[01:14:05] October,

[01:14:06] thank you

[01:14:07] for tuning

[01:14:07] in to the

[01:14:07] Roll Point

[01:14:08] Exchange.

[01:14:08] If you'd

[01:14:09] like to get

[01:14:09] these episodes

[01:14:10] three months

[01:14:10] earlier,

[01:14:11] for our

[01:14:12] roll-ups at

[01:14:12] least,

[01:14:13] please head

[01:14:14] on over to

[01:14:14] Patreon back

[01:14:15] at one of

[01:14:15] our mid-tier

[01:14:18] pledges and

[01:14:19] you can get

[01:14:19] these the

[01:14:20] month that

[01:14:21] they originally

[01:14:22] dropped.

[01:14:23] Well,

[01:14:23] with that,

[01:14:24] guys,

[01:14:25] thank you all

[01:14:25] so much.

[01:14:26] Appreciate you

[01:14:27] and for those

[01:14:27] listening,

[01:14:28] thank you so

[01:14:28] much and

[01:14:29] we'll talk to

[01:14:30] you all later.

[01:14:30] Bye-bye.

[01:14:31] See you all.

[01:14:33] See you.

[01:14:33] Thank you.
