Having secured the Hurricane Siren System in downtown Minneapolis, our players have been enjoying relative safety at MyWay - the budding skyway enclave. That is until the enclave is confronted with an emergency that threatens its existence, and our players survival.
Brownie - The Market
Sean - Null - a drone operator making their way in the loss - loud and on the scene
Adam - Snips - totally not a hair dresser latent with trust issues - but actually a hard of hearing surgeon with a penchant for vasectomies laser or otherwise.
David - Dakka- Now Bishop Dakka of the black math. When confronted with the question, the answer is always more Dakka.
00:00:00 --> 00:00:03 Hello, welcome to the Roadpoint Exchange, and this is Adam, and today we're
00:00:03 --> 00:00:05 going to be playing Red Market D20.
00:00:05 --> 00:00:09 It's this new game that our good friend Brownie has been working on.
00:00:09 --> 00:00:11 Brownie, welcome aboard. Thank you for running.
00:00:12 --> 00:00:16 Well, thank you guys for showing up. I'm glad that you squeezed this in as a
00:00:16 --> 00:00:19 pickup game. It's our pleasure, sir, I assure you.
00:00:20 --> 00:00:24 Honestly, from playing one session, I think D20 is the only way to play Red
00:00:24 --> 00:00:26 Market. If you say so, my friend.
00:00:28 --> 00:00:31 This is, in fact, another play test of the Red Marcus T20 system.
00:00:32 --> 00:00:36 I worked on it for a while, wanted to get a few games in, and we're finally
00:00:36 --> 00:00:37 doing some testing of it.
00:00:37 --> 00:00:42 Last session went pretty well, and had some people returning,
00:00:42 --> 00:00:44 which is crazy, which means it must have been just fine.
00:00:44 --> 00:00:52 This particular set of play sets is set in the Skyway system of the Minneapolis city downtown.
00:00:54 --> 00:00:56 Just after the fall, before everything has not fallen.
00:00:57 --> 00:01:01 The crash, thank you, sir. The crash, but before everything is solidified into
00:01:01 --> 00:01:07 the finalized systems, and basically it's a bold new world, and we're securing the Skyway system.
00:01:07 --> 00:01:10 With that as a little bit of a precursor, would people like to introduce their characters?
00:01:11 --> 00:01:15 I'll go ahead and start off here. This is Adam, as I said earlier,
00:01:15 --> 00:01:20 and I am going to be playing Snips. That is totally not me just taking my care
00:01:20 --> 00:01:26 from the 10k shares and changing the name to another barber theme.
00:01:26 --> 00:01:31 I am playing a latent and the weak spot is, I don't know if we need to go over
00:01:31 --> 00:01:37 that necessarily, but yep, she's a little hard of hearing. We'll put it that way.
00:01:37 --> 00:01:41 What? Yeah, I should have seen that coming.
00:01:44 --> 00:01:46 And next we have. Hi, everybody. This is David.
00:01:46 --> 00:01:50 I am going to be reprising one of our old favorites,
00:01:50 --> 00:01:57 Daka, who was a member of the D4s and is now a bishop based on the number of,
00:01:57 --> 00:02:02 well, tallies that he's got at this point, like face full of hives.
00:02:03 --> 00:02:06 That sounds like more Daka rather than less Daka. We'll take it. Oh, yeah.
00:02:07 --> 00:02:12 In retrospect, I probably should have picked a character with some quiet weapons, but no.
00:02:13 --> 00:02:16 Choice is already made, and this is going to be fun.
00:02:18 --> 00:02:25 Uh and i'm sean and i am going to be playing noll today scavenger archetype that's got a bunch of,
00:02:26 --> 00:02:30 drones and drunkies and things like that so i also am not going to be very quiet
00:02:30 --> 00:02:34 oh great you'll get my random roll tables some some use today that sounds good
00:02:34 --> 00:02:39 yeah random roll tables what does this game not have brownie,
00:02:42 --> 00:02:43 lots of things it does not have
00:02:43 --> 00:02:48 yes now that it's got d20s it's got like everything it needs i think yeah,
00:02:50 --> 00:02:50 Okay.
00:02:54 --> 00:02:58 Let's recap kind of what happened on the last playtest session.
00:02:58 --> 00:03:03 Our intrepid takers made their way through the downtown skyway system, had some encounters,
00:03:04 --> 00:03:09 dealt with some Randian, and were able to secure the controls to the hurricane
00:03:09 --> 00:03:13 warning system that runs the hurricane warning sirens downtown.
00:03:13 --> 00:03:17 And with that, you'll be able to set them off in certain parts of the town and
00:03:17 --> 00:03:19 cause the weather to move that way,
00:03:20 --> 00:03:25 allowing you to leave the enclave more safely, to herd them away so there's
00:03:25 --> 00:03:29 less clackers nipping at the walls, that kind of thing.
00:03:29 --> 00:03:33 In doing so, they managed to make their way all the way to the Macy's building,
00:03:33 --> 00:03:37 all the way up to the cafeteria, and through a very busy lunchtime.
00:03:38 --> 00:03:43 It was a little bit. A little bit, yep. So that brings us to today.
00:03:44 --> 00:03:47 The hurricane warning sirens have been working.
00:03:48 --> 00:03:52 People have been able to safely leave the enclave, the budding enclave that
00:03:52 --> 00:03:57 is situated in the Millennium Hotel that's next to the convention center in
00:03:57 --> 00:03:58 southern downtown Minneapolis.
00:03:58 --> 00:04:01 The very last area that Skyway connected in that direction.
00:04:02 --> 00:04:07 The Skyway system downtown in Minneapolis is basically a giant mall that spans
00:04:07 --> 00:04:08 the second story of every building downtown.
00:04:09 --> 00:04:12 And because of the harsh weather, they're all connected by what people call
00:04:12 --> 00:04:17 the gerbil tunnels, which are bridges enclosed over the streets between all of the buildings.
00:04:18 --> 00:04:21 And again, that brings us to today. you all
00:04:21 --> 00:04:24 are in your various places in the enclave whether
00:04:24 --> 00:04:28 that's out in the lobby laying on the ground off
00:04:28 --> 00:04:31 in some room somewhere or even in a hotel
00:04:31 --> 00:04:33 room depends on how you're doing and what kind of bounty you
00:04:33 --> 00:04:37 want to spend but you hear hear
00:04:37 --> 00:04:40 a screech out in the main area that sounds
00:04:40 --> 00:04:43 kind of like a fire alarm that then fades
00:04:43 --> 00:04:50 down like alarms do when the power is cut and then there is silence and the
00:04:50 --> 00:04:54 lights go out and that's when you start hearing voices out in the hallway and
00:04:54 --> 00:05:01 out in the lobby well nothing about that is good so i'm going to do the smart thing and,
00:05:02 --> 00:05:07 stay secluded in my safe little spot and not engage at all with the premise of the show,
00:05:08 --> 00:05:10 i'm going to do the exact opposite.
00:05:12 --> 00:05:19 I'm going to pause in my bishop duties of tattooing that young person with their latest tally marks,
00:05:20 --> 00:05:24 I'm going to put down the tattoo needle made out of guitar string,
00:05:24 --> 00:05:29 pen, and a couple of other things, and pick up a case marked Isabelle,
00:05:29 --> 00:05:33 and just very calmly assemble my heavy rifle,
00:05:33 --> 00:05:39 flip on my Ubix, and out of the hall I go, turning on the underbarrel flashlight.
00:05:41 --> 00:05:43 Adam, how are you reacting to
00:05:43 --> 00:05:48 the situation? I think that the latents are actually kept somewhere nice.
00:05:49 --> 00:05:54 But nice, I mean, it's probably in hotel rooms and stuff like that that they
00:05:54 --> 00:05:58 can kind of lock and secure because we're afraid somebody's going to die and
00:05:58 --> 00:06:00 they're asleep and then they're going to be, you know, a vector.
00:06:01 --> 00:06:07 So I was up in the, what would be a good hotel chain or something?
00:06:07 --> 00:06:11 Like, what would I be saying at Minneapolis downtown?
00:06:12 --> 00:06:17 Well, the Enclave is in the Millennium Hotel that's attached to the Skyway right
00:06:17 --> 00:06:21 next to the convention center. So it is the Millennium Hotel.
00:06:21 --> 00:06:25 Well, maybe we're down in a broiler room or something like that where they can
00:06:25 --> 00:06:29 kind of like, or, you know, some kind of basement area of that that we're saying it.
00:06:29 --> 00:06:36 So I guess I'm going to grab my gear and ease out into the hallway.
00:06:36 --> 00:06:40 You actually had it right you actually had it right the first time they do uh
00:06:40 --> 00:06:45 let you stay in the rooms but they sequester you to the executive floor because
00:06:45 --> 00:06:49 again it's an easy to secure space where they can not send the elevator up and
00:06:49 --> 00:06:53 not send the elevator down based on you know securing the executive floor in
00:06:53 --> 00:06:55 the four times so i'm going down steps,
00:06:56 --> 00:06:58 yeah there's the the power is out the.
00:06:59 --> 00:07:02 The place which up until now, it had some form of air conditioning,
00:07:02 --> 00:07:07 you know, keeping the rest of the place more pressurized than the latent floor
00:07:07 --> 00:07:09 to keep, you know, some of the latent skin flakes on the latent floor.
00:07:10 --> 00:07:14 The vents have stopped blowing. The lights have gone out.
00:07:14 --> 00:07:17 You're lucky that the door locks run off battery. Yeah.
00:07:18 --> 00:07:21 I think I'm going to, as I'm making my way down the steps, can I check?
00:07:21 --> 00:07:25 I'll burn the charge on my Ubix to see if there's any other chatter going on.
00:07:26 --> 00:07:31 Do I have Ubix? I assume I have Ubix. So Shears had Ubix. Yeah, yeah.
00:07:31 --> 00:07:35 Yeah. So I'd like to see if there's any kind of chatter about what's going on.
00:07:35 --> 00:07:40 There's a lot of panic on the forums that the life, well, not lifelines yet,
00:07:40 --> 00:07:45 but the soon to be lifeline forums, specifically around living in downtown Minneapolis.
00:07:45 --> 00:07:50 People are, what's going on? What's going on? And there is one message that's
00:07:50 --> 00:07:51 been pinned, you know, meeting in the lobby.
00:07:52 --> 00:07:59 Okay. I guess slowly make my way down to the lobby. No, you also get pings on your Ubik.
00:07:59 --> 00:08:02 Like, they're sending it out to everybody who's registered to be in the area.
00:08:02 --> 00:08:04 You know, meeting in the lobby emergency.
00:08:05 --> 00:08:09 That's pinging on mine, too. So, yeah. Also, lobby.
00:08:09 --> 00:08:18 I will fire up the drone key and sling the drone on my back and grab my laptop and out the door we go.
00:08:19 --> 00:08:23 All right. Is it two-cycle drone key? Oh, no. It's four.
00:08:27 --> 00:08:31 As you all emerge into the lobby, it's a little bit of a panic situation.
00:08:31 --> 00:08:32 There are no casualties.
00:08:33 --> 00:08:36 The front doors are still barricaded and holding.
00:08:36 --> 00:08:43 The power is off, but there's just a lot of loud voices and people wondering what's going on.
00:08:44 --> 00:08:48 People just trying to figure out what's happening and what they're going to be doing.
00:08:49 --> 00:08:53 And a few minutes after you all kind of make it there, the head of the enclave,
00:08:53 --> 00:08:57 who I cannot remember from last time, but has a sufficiently Midwestern name,
00:08:57 --> 00:09:04 comes in and tells everyone that the power has been cut off.
00:09:04 --> 00:09:08 There was a problem with the siren system that was set up last time.
00:09:08 --> 00:09:13 It actually caused a short and burned out one of the power delivery methods to the hotel.
00:09:14 --> 00:09:21 And this is not good, clearly. and we need somebody to volunteer to go out.
00:09:21 --> 00:09:25 We need everyone here to fend off the casualties as they start coming back in.
00:09:25 --> 00:09:32 But we have one battery charge left on the system for the hurricane siren that's
00:09:32 --> 00:09:36 attached to the hotel where we can clear the way and let people out into the
00:09:36 --> 00:09:38 skyway, but only one once.
00:09:38 --> 00:09:44 And then we have to bunker down and stay quiet and hold out until hopefully
00:09:44 --> 00:09:46 someone can get the power restored.
00:09:46 --> 00:09:52 Does any of our characters actually have mechanical repair type of abilities?
00:09:53 --> 00:09:58 Oh, yeah. I got that. They're calling for volunteers to go out into the Skyway
00:09:58 --> 00:10:02 and make the way to where the repair needs to be made. Do we have any volunteers?
00:10:03 --> 00:10:08 Yes. I offer myself as tribute. Yes.
00:10:09 --> 00:10:14 But these people that are actually standing up to volunteer and stuff,
00:10:14 --> 00:10:19 I would like sheepishly like raise a hand, but not like it's not big,
00:10:19 --> 00:10:22 confident or loud in any way, shape or form.
00:10:23 --> 00:10:29 All right. So there aren't actually that many volunteers. People are pretty, pretty worried.
00:10:29 --> 00:10:33 They've been living, you know, it's been very scary, obviously,
00:10:33 --> 00:10:35 and they've been living fairly comfortably and fairly securely in this space.
00:10:36 --> 00:10:39 And there aren't a lot of a lot of takers. the only
00:10:39 --> 00:10:42 other crew the one that ones that were potential rivals
00:10:42 --> 00:10:45 last time they're out right now so there isn't
00:10:45 --> 00:10:48 a real taker crew except for maybe you guys to take
00:10:48 --> 00:10:52 this on and it looks like you volunteered
00:10:52 --> 00:10:57 sean remind me did anyone else decide to throw their hat in pcs oh yes definitely
00:10:57 --> 00:11:03 like i'm just going to very calmly rack the heavy rifle once and say i've still
00:11:03 --> 00:11:11 got space on my arm uh looking at what weapons i have i raised my machete.
00:11:13 --> 00:11:17 The the enclave leader you know looks looks at you three are the only ones who
00:11:17 --> 00:11:22 who volunteered and looks appreciatively at the at the heavy artillery looks
00:11:22 --> 00:11:27 appreciatively at the the dronkey and the drone and then kind of half nods okay
00:11:27 --> 00:11:29 that's fine at the machete,
00:11:30 --> 00:11:35 great yeah we the the power distribution station it's it's up north near the government building,
00:11:36 --> 00:11:39 i'm pretty sure that you know we shorted out and burned out
00:11:39 --> 00:11:42 a relay on the way there but but they have redundancies and if you can just
00:11:42 --> 00:11:45 flip it over at the government center you should be able to get the power back
00:11:45 --> 00:11:50 on obviously you know we need this this is where we live i don't don't worry
00:11:50 --> 00:11:55 about the price it will make it we'll make it right can you go it's an emergency
00:11:55 --> 00:11:58 as long as you'll agree to pay for the ammo, we're good.
00:11:59 --> 00:12:03 I look at all the, uh, the electronics and battery operated equipment that I
00:12:03 --> 00:12:06 have. And I'm like, uh, yes, it is an emergency and I am more than happy to go.
00:12:07 --> 00:12:12 And then cheers. Uh, yeah, look, if you can give us, like I said,
00:12:12 --> 00:12:16 a little bit of ammo to kind of get us through here, some rations,
00:12:16 --> 00:12:21 like just, if you just, you know, if you, if you don't mind the stock is here,
00:12:21 --> 00:12:22 yeah, that's totally fine.
00:12:22 --> 00:12:26 This is, this is our home and this is where we're going to live.
00:12:26 --> 00:12:27 And my name is Snips. Cheers.
00:12:28 --> 00:12:34 We'll open up the uh the cocktail hour snacks on the executive floor thank you thank you.
00:12:38 --> 00:12:44 All right having agreed you know he just lets you know he gives you a little
00:12:44 --> 00:12:50 a tourist skyway map pops into your hand points where where you're at at the
00:12:50 --> 00:12:57 very far end south of the skyway and it points to the government building in the top right corner.
00:12:58 --> 00:13:00 And says, this is where you got to go.
00:13:00 --> 00:13:02 It's going to be pretty obvious when you get there. You know,
00:13:02 --> 00:13:07 there's a room in the basement that has the switching for the power.
00:13:08 --> 00:13:13 The power comes from hydro off of the Mississippi that's right near there.
00:13:13 --> 00:13:18 And that's just where they happen to put the control equipment for the downtown power grid.
00:13:19 --> 00:13:24 Do you need anything before you go or can you get going? I think we're good. Off we go.
00:13:24 --> 00:13:29 Do we have like a printed off map that we can go since we can't rely on the digital anymore?
00:13:30 --> 00:13:34 Yeah, yeah, here. Take this, and he gives you the tourist map that he had in
00:13:34 --> 00:13:37 his hand. He gives it to you to take with you. Okay.
00:13:37 --> 00:13:43 Sounds good. Well, I guess, hey, make haste. All right. Can someone give me 2d6?
00:13:44 --> 00:13:48 I've got the girls here. I can break them out. I've got six.
00:13:48 --> 00:13:51 One and a five. Do colors matter?
00:13:52 --> 00:13:56 In this instance, they do not. You rolled a six. That's
00:13:56 --> 00:13:59 how many legs there are in the skyway to get to the government building good
00:13:59 --> 00:14:03 lord excellent you approach
00:14:03 --> 00:14:06 the area where the millennium hotel attaches to the skyway it's
00:14:06 --> 00:14:12 still pretty empty the big metal gates are down on both sides of the skyway
00:14:12 --> 00:14:15 bridge leading into the next building and there aren't really any casualties
00:14:15 --> 00:14:23 and as you get up there the operator of the kind of airlock going out into the skyway, nods to you,
00:14:24 --> 00:14:28 plunks down a car battery, attaches a couple of jumper cables to it,
00:14:28 --> 00:14:32 and you hear the hurricane siren off in the distance go off,
00:14:32 --> 00:14:37 and the rest of the casualties in the area you see down on the street them starting
00:14:37 --> 00:14:39 to walk that direction away from the hotel.
00:14:40 --> 00:14:46 And you're loose, you're free to go into the skyway. What do we know as far as the route?
00:14:47 --> 00:14:50 It's a pretty straight shot for the first four legs.
00:14:50 --> 00:14:54 You've got to kind of go fairly well straight north. There are a couple of ways
00:14:54 --> 00:14:59 around, but it's basically the same number of buildings you have to pass through.
00:14:59 --> 00:15:03 But then you have a choice once you get to the fourth leg of whether you want
00:15:03 --> 00:15:09 to continue in the skyway or if you want to cut the last two legs down to one
00:15:09 --> 00:15:12 and go through the tunnels underground that lead into the government's center building.
00:15:13 --> 00:15:17 That sounds like, I mean, you know, it's the apocalypse. So any shortcuts,
00:15:17 --> 00:15:20 uh, the, the best idea, right? Oh, clearly.
00:15:23 --> 00:15:27 All right. You can get it down to five, five legs. If you do that. Is that the essence?
00:15:28 --> 00:15:32 I mean, I guess like, let's just get it, get it going. Like rip the bandaid off guys.
00:15:34 --> 00:15:37 All right. So you head out into the Skyway.
00:15:37 --> 00:15:40 You're now in the area right around the convention center. and can someone
00:15:40 --> 00:15:43 give me a d20 three as you
00:15:43 --> 00:15:46 were passing through the the skyway
00:15:46 --> 00:15:49 just past the investment center on
00:15:49 --> 00:15:53 the way to the rest of downtown you you're
00:15:53 --> 00:15:55 seeing a few casualties around but none of
00:15:55 --> 00:15:58 them really paying attention to you you if if you
00:15:58 --> 00:16:02 off in the distance you can see they're not
00:16:02 --> 00:16:07 acting like regular casualties they're kind of just walking around do you get
00:16:07 --> 00:16:11 closer to look at them do you try to avoid them do you attack them what do you
00:16:11 --> 00:16:17 guys plan on doing we know is gonna like note the odd behavior and then go it's
00:16:17 --> 00:16:19 working in our favor so I'm going to ignore it,
00:16:19 --> 00:16:23 but I get the feeling I'm probably not gonna get the chance to ignore it whenever,
00:16:24 --> 00:16:30 Bishop sees this yeah I'm out for ignoring it as well we've got a job to do
00:16:30 --> 00:16:37 the job is more important right now but I would like it noted I'd like it noted,
00:16:38 --> 00:16:41 that I am doing this under protest.
00:16:44 --> 00:16:48 Look, my dad used to go deer hunting, Bishop. I understand how it goes.
00:16:48 --> 00:16:51 This is just a little spike that just popped out here.
00:16:52 --> 00:16:55 They always send the spikes out first because they're young and they're stupid.
00:16:56 --> 00:17:00 If you wait and you don't take that first shot, then you'll get your buck.
00:17:00 --> 00:17:02 I'm sure we'll get your buck on the way home.
00:17:03 --> 00:17:07 As you try to ignore them and as you approach, which they look like they're
00:17:07 --> 00:17:12 going about the regular daily life that they would have been doing before the crash.
00:17:12 --> 00:17:16 There are people in a nail salon that look like they're getting their nails
00:17:16 --> 00:17:18 done, casualties doing other casualties' nails.
00:17:19 --> 00:17:23 There are people lined up at a restaurant in the Skyway there.
00:17:23 --> 00:17:28 There are people browsing through a destroyed and wrecked clothing store.
00:17:30 --> 00:17:32 They just, and they're ignoring you. They're acting like you're not even there.
00:17:33 --> 00:17:36 They're just going about what would have been their daily lives before the crash.
00:17:37 --> 00:17:42 Okay. So what are you wanting us to roll here? Cause it sounds like you're wanting us to roll something.
00:17:44 --> 00:17:47 Well, I mean, self-control would be something that you could roll.
00:17:48 --> 00:17:53 Oh God. It's been so long. Let me see. I'm in control of a one.
00:17:54 --> 00:17:57 Eleven over six. Hey, I succeed on that.
00:17:58 --> 00:18:01 You're fine. This is weird. but at least they're not clacking at you.
00:18:02 --> 00:18:08 What is it again, guys? I swear, but it's ADP and self-control, right?
00:18:09 --> 00:18:16 Yeah, it's a skill. It is a skill. So I rolled a red 19 and a black 10.
00:18:17 --> 00:18:23 So I believe that that is a 10 over 9 just on the die, but it would actually be 12 over 9.
00:18:24 --> 00:18:32 So that's a success? That sounds like a success, yes. Yeah. I rode 15 over 14.
00:18:33 --> 00:18:36 So. Oh, that would be a failure then. No, I mean, I had the five.
00:18:37 --> 00:18:41 Oh, oh, I'm sorry. I was looking at the dice and know where they fell.
00:18:41 --> 00:18:45 They, they went the green D20 is a bad D20.
00:18:45 --> 00:18:50 The less green is mine. Sorry. The slightly lighter green. Yeah.
00:18:51 --> 00:18:56 Well, you all, well, then you all succeeded. You don't need to take anything
00:18:56 --> 00:18:58 again. This is weird, but at least they're not clacking at you.
00:18:59 --> 00:19:03 It's it's you know a little disconcerting seeing these
00:19:03 --> 00:19:06 things that you're not really sure what they all do yet not doing
00:19:06 --> 00:19:08 what you expect them to do but again at least they're not clacking and
00:19:08 --> 00:19:12 chasing you yep this this
00:19:12 --> 00:19:14 continues for little ways as you progress through the skyway all the different
00:19:14 --> 00:19:19 things you might see in a mall you see those stores and you see you know a selection
00:19:19 --> 00:19:24 of those stores and you see the casualties is doing those things and that is
00:19:24 --> 00:19:29 the end of the first leg and can someone else give me a d20 I will,
00:19:29 --> 00:19:36 although I am going to make a note of where they are, because that is a target-rich environment.
00:19:36 --> 00:19:38 Roll of 14.
00:19:39 --> 00:19:42 All right, and can someone give me 2d20?
00:19:43 --> 00:19:47 So, bad die 17 over 12.
00:19:48 --> 00:19:51 All right. As you move into this next part of the Skyway, it's a little bit
00:19:51 --> 00:19:55 more dinged up than the other one. The other one definitely had some issues, but was mostly intact.
00:19:55 --> 00:19:59 This one is pretty messed up. It looks like there was a protracted firefight
00:19:59 --> 00:20:03 here at some point, and there are barricades set up all around.
00:20:03 --> 00:20:09 And as you enter the area, you see that there are seven casualties about two shamble away.
00:20:09 --> 00:20:13 They haven't noticed you yet, but they're in and about the barricades.
00:20:13 --> 00:20:17 It would be very hard to get through unless you're sneaking or something without
00:20:17 --> 00:20:18 doing something with them.
00:20:19 --> 00:20:23 Again, second story mall all around downtown. This one's pretty messed up.
00:20:23 --> 00:20:27 Drone makes a little bit of noise. You think you can just fly it over here just
00:20:27 --> 00:20:30 to kite them over there and then whip it back over here and we take back off?
00:20:30 --> 00:20:34 I mean, the drone key makes noise. The drone itself is quiet.
00:20:34 --> 00:20:37 And you said there's 17 at two shambles away?
00:20:38 --> 00:20:41 There's seven at two, yeah. Oh, seven at two. i mean
00:20:41 --> 00:20:44 you guys are pretty good at
00:20:44 --> 00:20:47 shooting stuff or killing stuff right like you
00:20:47 --> 00:20:50 doesn't matter if you get bit snips and i mean
00:20:50 --> 00:20:53 the bishop is the bishop like daca go
00:20:53 --> 00:20:56 daca you do realize that this weapon
00:20:56 --> 00:21:00 doesn't have a silencer on it i say
00:21:00 --> 00:21:03 taking the flashlight attachment off and putting the loudener on
00:21:03 --> 00:21:06 i mean in in
00:21:06 --> 00:21:08 my own defense so pat the
00:21:08 --> 00:21:12 shotgun mounted on top of my very loud walking drunky
00:21:12 --> 00:21:15 i'm asking you to sacrifice your
00:21:15 --> 00:21:18 piece of equipment i'm just saying you know
00:21:18 --> 00:21:23 i know you said the drone was kind of quiet but if you fly it around their faces
00:21:23 --> 00:21:28 and all that just kite them away and then we'll ease back you just raise it
00:21:28 --> 00:21:33 up high that they can't get it it ends it comes back to mommy and then we're
00:21:33 --> 00:21:38 good to go or hear me out level rifle we could do this.
00:21:41 --> 00:21:46 And do you do that or do you just threaten to do that oh i do that all right
00:21:46 --> 00:21:53 uh give me that will on that too because yeah kdr yeah no take a will if you
00:21:53 --> 00:21:56 if you open up fire with your loud weapon without consulting fully consulting
00:21:56 --> 00:22:00 your your co-workers yes please bonus will point we,
00:22:01 --> 00:22:03 Okay, so, crazy question time.
00:22:04 --> 00:22:10 Mm-hmm. I rolled a 12 on the black D20 and a 2 on the red.
00:22:11 --> 00:22:16 Is that a crit? It is. Shot the arrow in twig.
00:22:16 --> 00:22:20 Now, remind me what kind of weapon this is, David. This is a heavy rifle.
00:22:21 --> 00:22:24 I would say that with that critical success, you were able to line up several
00:22:24 --> 00:22:28 casualties at just the right moment and take out, let's say,
00:22:28 --> 00:22:30 three of them. with a single shot?
00:22:31 --> 00:22:37 I'll take it. You, however, have kind of alerted their undead brethren that
00:22:37 --> 00:22:39 something is going on that may be tasty.
00:22:39 --> 00:22:42 Did someone else give me 2D20? I think it is.
00:22:45 --> 00:22:48 I don't want to be the guy that does this. I did the other one.
00:22:48 --> 00:22:52 Oh, no, no. You already got us into this predicament, sir. I think you should continue.
00:22:53 --> 00:22:54 All right. Let me see.
00:22:55 --> 00:23:00 We'll call the bad one. Red D20 is 12.
00:23:00 --> 00:23:05 Black D20 is five. Further down the skyway, kind of the direction you need to
00:23:05 --> 00:23:10 go, a couple more casualties stumble out of a building, but they're quite a
00:23:10 --> 00:23:11 ways off. They're two at five shambles.
00:23:12 --> 00:23:18 There are two groups of casualties now in the area. with the first group moving, moving towards you.
00:23:18 --> 00:23:21 And that's down to one shamble away on the, the group of four that are left.
00:23:22 --> 00:23:27 I mean, sorry, unless no, but you still have your actions before they, before they move in.
00:23:28 --> 00:23:32 Right. I was going to say, I would hope be able to do something before that
00:23:32 --> 00:23:34 point. You are correct. Yes.
00:23:34 --> 00:23:39 Noah's going to direct his dronkey to shoot one.
00:23:39 --> 00:23:45 And then I would like to move back and leave my dronkey standing in the middle
00:23:45 --> 00:23:48 of the way. All right, we've made that roll.
00:23:50 --> 00:23:59 My drone operator is three, so that is a seven and a 17.
00:23:59 --> 00:24:01 So that would be a critical failure.
00:24:02 --> 00:24:06 I would say that your shotgun on your dronky jams needs to be unjammed before
00:24:06 --> 00:24:07 it can be used again. Is that fair?
00:24:07 --> 00:24:12 It is, unfortunately. Very fair, and I hate everything about it.
00:24:13 --> 00:24:18 And remind me, everyone, is I know that you can only ring the dinner bell once
00:24:18 --> 00:24:22 per thing but is the shotgun different than the rifle do you remember,
00:24:23 --> 00:24:26 like is that a new sound source that counts as ringing the dinner bell again
00:24:26 --> 00:24:33 the way I have always ran it is it was one source per taker one one loud per
00:24:33 --> 00:24:36 taker all right then I guess that means I need another 2d20 I can do that,
00:24:37 --> 00:24:40 I've so seldom played with non silenced in red.
00:24:41 --> 00:24:46 10 and 5 black 10 red fives.
00:24:46 --> 00:24:51 Boy, this is spiraling. After the shotgun goes off and jams,
00:24:51 --> 00:24:55 a few more right near those two that just popped out come out of another set
00:24:55 --> 00:24:58 of, actually out of a back janitor's hallway, it looks like.
00:24:59 --> 00:25:03 That leads into the back area behind the shops, and another 10 casualties show up there.
00:25:03 --> 00:25:07 So you've got 4 at the 2, 2 at the 5, and 10 at the 5.
00:25:07 --> 00:25:12 Keep in mind that the Skyway branches, so you could try to go another way if
00:25:12 --> 00:25:15 you decide that you don't want to deal with this predicament you got yourself
00:25:15 --> 00:25:18 into, but you can also just, you know, apply some more DACA.
00:25:19 --> 00:25:23 Snips, you have an action? All right. Sounds great to me.
00:25:24 --> 00:25:31 So I am going to burn a charge on my Ubex to get some Deadeye.
00:25:31 --> 00:25:38 All right. So I got that. And, you know, I have a handgun, but at the same time, it's silenced.
00:25:38 --> 00:25:43 So I'm not ringing the dinner bell like everybody else.
00:25:43 --> 00:25:49 So I guess I want to start trying to plink off the ones really close to us.
00:25:50 --> 00:25:51 Those four, they're two away.
00:25:52 --> 00:25:57 Or that are two away. So I guess it has... Let me go ahead. It's been a while.
00:25:58 --> 00:26:04 All right. Not natural, but black 20, red 8.
00:26:05 --> 00:26:07 All right. That sounds like a success. Mm-hmm.
00:26:09 --> 00:26:11 One of the casualties goes down. All right.
00:26:13 --> 00:26:18 Here we go. And in that time, they've all moved a shamble closer.
00:26:18 --> 00:26:23 So there are three that are one away two that are four away and ten that are four away.
00:26:24 --> 00:26:28 They're not quite up on you yet, but they will be next round. I got the far ones.
00:26:28 --> 00:26:32 Can you take care of the ones up close? Fortunately, yes.
00:26:33 --> 00:26:38 Good. I'm going to use that underbarrel and fire one of my grenades.
00:26:39 --> 00:26:42 I know you said one for taker, but man, this sounds like another dinner.
00:26:42 --> 00:26:45 I would count it as completely a whole other thing.
00:26:47 --> 00:26:50 Yes you're firing at the group of 10 is that right
00:26:50 --> 00:26:53 uh yeah and with a
00:26:53 --> 00:26:59 pair of a 10 and a 20 i'm gonna say what group of 10 all right sure yeah that
00:26:59 --> 00:27:03 group of 10 it sounds like they're splattered and those are completely gone
00:27:03 --> 00:27:10 now important question since there are two groups that are at the same shambles.
00:27:11 --> 00:27:14 Is it possible to apply that damage to both of them?
00:27:15 --> 00:27:17 I would say no, because while they're the same distance away,
00:27:17 --> 00:27:18 they weren't right next to each other.
00:27:19 --> 00:27:23 They were down different branches, different corridors out there.
00:27:24 --> 00:27:27 You're kind of at a crossroads where you can see a couple of different directions
00:27:27 --> 00:27:29 down through the building that you're in.
00:27:30 --> 00:27:38 Absolutely fair. But also give me two D20. Okay, so that is a red 9, black 10.
00:27:38 --> 00:27:42 There are another nine casualties that poke their heads out after hearing the
00:27:42 --> 00:27:45 grenade, but they're 10 shambles away, so it's quite a bit away.
00:27:46 --> 00:27:51 But they are on the board being tracked now. There's a lot. There's a lot of these guys.
00:27:52 --> 00:27:55 Yeah, there's a reason this one was pretty torn up and had the barricades and everything.
00:27:55 --> 00:28:01 I'm going to attempt to help Snips deal with these casualties.
00:28:02 --> 00:28:07 Since I have moved farther back and I don't have a firearm and the gun on my
00:28:07 --> 00:28:12 dronkey is jammed, I'm going to see if I can get the dronkey to,
00:28:12 --> 00:28:16 like, full rush casualty, like, knock it prone.
00:28:16 --> 00:28:19 So that it's not actively trying to eat snips.
00:28:19 --> 00:28:25 If you succeed in that, that drone pilot piloting check, you can delay them
00:28:25 --> 00:28:29 advancing and keep them at one next round as well. That's what I would like to try that.
00:28:30 --> 00:28:36 All right. Give me, give me that. Nine and 19. Holy shit.
00:28:37 --> 00:28:42 So it's not a critical fail though. There was a, there's a six and a 19 modified
00:28:42 --> 00:28:44 to the nine and 19. So just failure.
00:28:44 --> 00:28:47 It's just rubbed up against your legs like a cat.
00:28:48 --> 00:28:53 It's like that bullfighting cartoon back in the day where one of them,
00:28:53 --> 00:28:55 you swear it must have a red cape, but it doesn't.
00:28:55 --> 00:29:00 Your dronkey just swooshes right by them and is now behind them instead.
00:29:00 --> 00:29:01 And Snips?
00:29:02 --> 00:29:07 Guys, I really think that we're the ones that broke this and that somehow we went back in time.
00:29:09 --> 00:29:12 And we're dealing with the aftermath of what we created. And I'm going to go
00:29:12 --> 00:29:19 ahead and try to shoot, I guess, how many of them are there, Brownie, in front of me?
00:29:19 --> 00:29:22 Three, one shamble away, two at four, and nine at ten.
00:29:23 --> 00:29:28 I think I don't want to, if I burn my twitch, they could attack me this round
00:29:28 --> 00:29:32 too, or can I burn my twitch as well? I never remembered that last time.
00:29:33 --> 00:29:37 Your twitch is your main, and then you're, right, you could fire twice,
00:29:38 --> 00:29:39 but they would be on you next round.
00:29:39 --> 00:29:48 You could also fire and back up okay firing and backing up sounds okay so let's see go ahead.
00:29:50 --> 00:29:53 Alright that is black 13 over
00:29:53 --> 00:30:01 red 11 I'll burn another charge on the gun alright down to 2 at the 1 I'm assuming
00:30:01 --> 00:30:06 Daka that you're backing up also yeah I'll use my twitch to back up a little
00:30:06 --> 00:30:11 bit alright that maintains the shambles with the two at the one,
00:30:11 --> 00:30:17 and it maintains the shambles of the two at the four but the nine at the ten
00:30:17 --> 00:30:21 were in a different direction and so they still advance on you and now they're nine at nine.
00:30:22 --> 00:30:28 And yeah, and that brings us to the next round. Okay, biggest group out there?
00:30:29 --> 00:30:33 Nine of the nine. Would I be right in assuming that if I fire another grenade
00:30:33 --> 00:30:36 at them, that that will not call more?
00:30:36 --> 00:30:38 Or is that just yet another explosion?
00:30:39 --> 00:30:42 I mean, it's another explosion in a different area. So, I mean,
00:30:42 --> 00:30:44 I give you a 50-50 chance not to call.
00:30:45 --> 00:30:48 Okay, let's take them out. so that
00:30:48 --> 00:30:51 is a thankfully with
00:30:51 --> 00:30:55 my artillery that is a 20 over
00:30:55 --> 00:30:58 10 yeah no that that wipes out that whole
00:30:58 --> 00:31:01 whole group and then just give me one more
00:31:01 --> 00:31:04 d20 and call high or low let's go high
00:31:04 --> 00:31:07 with the way that these are rolling and that's a 16
00:31:07 --> 00:31:10 all right it it echoes
00:31:10 --> 00:31:13 but you don't hear in the aftermath after the mopping
00:31:13 --> 00:31:17 stopped you don't actually hear or see any other casualties appear from that
00:31:17 --> 00:31:22 all right uh reminded everyone else you still have two at the one and two at
00:31:22 --> 00:31:30 the i'm going to try to do the same thing with the the two at the one to make it easier for snips five,
00:31:32 --> 00:31:37 over 13 so yes that one will succeed all right and that was another bull rush
00:31:37 --> 00:31:42 yeah you managed to nudge them well enough that they're not going to advance on y'all this turn.
00:31:43 --> 00:31:46 And I imagine you're also using your twitch to back up.
00:31:47 --> 00:31:52 Alright. And then Snips. So there's two in front of us?
00:31:52 --> 00:31:56 There are two in front of you and they will not advance the third. Yep. Hmm.
00:31:58 --> 00:32:04 I think I'll burn. I'm going to attack and I'd like to see if I can get one.
00:32:04 --> 00:32:06 I may burn my twitch to take out the other.
00:32:07 --> 00:32:15 Oh, that's great. So that is a black 11 over a red nine.
00:32:16 --> 00:32:20 So I take one out and I'm going to go ahead. Can I burn my twitch to take the
00:32:20 --> 00:32:23 other one out in the immediate vicinity? All right.
00:32:24 --> 00:32:29 And that's a black five over a red one. All right.
00:32:30 --> 00:32:36 That's a little horde is gone. And you only have the two ethanol three because
00:32:36 --> 00:32:38 those ones moved up left in the area.
00:32:38 --> 00:32:43 Hey guys how about we quit making noise just say what.
00:32:47 --> 00:32:54 This time it's just a gunshot with a heavy rifle and that's a natural 16 over a 6,
00:32:55 --> 00:32:59 which sounds like a which sounds like you were able to line these two up on the shot as well,
00:33:00 --> 00:33:04 and silence descends on this area of the skyway it's even more beat up than
00:33:04 --> 00:33:09 it was before okay so that was Two at the end, nine at that range,
00:33:10 --> 00:33:13 and ten at that range. Twenty-one!
00:33:14 --> 00:33:21 And you're remembering the first three as well, right? Oh, I missed those. That's 24. Thank you.
00:33:22 --> 00:33:26 I wouldn't want to take away your scratches, your hashes.
00:33:26 --> 00:33:29 So yeah, Silas ascends over this area of the Skyway. It used to,
00:33:30 --> 00:33:33 it still has barricades, but they're, you know, a little bit more beaten up
00:33:33 --> 00:33:38 in some areas. It looks like it's been pretty well looted and now it has lots
00:33:38 --> 00:33:41 of splattered light around. What would y'all like to do?
00:33:42 --> 00:33:45 Well i doubt we can scavenge off of
00:33:45 --> 00:33:49 the 20 some that were exploded but
00:33:49 --> 00:33:52 oh there's still something to be found on them maybe not
00:33:52 --> 00:33:55 a lot but there's something yeah there are four
00:33:55 --> 00:33:57 possible scavenge checks on on the groups if you want to
00:33:57 --> 00:34:04 do that yes i do i'm always looking for scavenging stuff of some sort all right
00:34:04 --> 00:34:08 do you want to scavenge or want to do something else give me rolls or tell me
00:34:08 --> 00:34:16 what you want to do 19 over eight scavenge that does sound like a success are you looking for,
00:34:16 --> 00:34:19 bounty or are you looking for something oh i'd love to look for
00:34:19 --> 00:34:24 something pitch me something you might find on casualties in the second floor
00:34:24 --> 00:34:32 mall that is the downtown of a city how about a like tablet like in a messenger
00:34:32 --> 00:34:37 bag on someone's hip still but still still in working condition and just,
00:34:37 --> 00:34:39 you know, did better, obviously. That works.
00:34:39 --> 00:34:42 You find, it's got one charge left on it.
00:34:43 --> 00:34:46 Apparently this was the long life model and it was put into sleep mode before
00:34:46 --> 00:34:49 it was run around. So it does still have one charge left.
00:34:50 --> 00:34:53 Anybody else want to scavenge or do anything else? Yeah, I want to scavenge.
00:34:54 --> 00:34:59 I'll take the sloppy ones over that were exploded since I'm a latent.
00:35:00 --> 00:35:05 Sure, you can take those two groups. All right. So it looks like,
00:35:05 --> 00:35:11 naturally speaking, before I add the points in, when the numbers match up,
00:35:11 --> 00:35:12 is that a critical failure?
00:35:12 --> 00:35:18 Like, so I had a six and a six before I add the modifier, too.
00:35:19 --> 00:35:21 Well, six and a six is even, so that'd be a crit success, yeah.
00:35:22 --> 00:35:26 Okay. Sweet. Critical success, and I was just looking for bounty.
00:35:26 --> 00:35:30 Well, that sounds like you made double your natural, so you found 12 bounty
00:35:30 --> 00:35:34 amongst... I somehow found 12 bounty amongst the group of 10.
00:35:37 --> 00:35:41 I hold up the driver's licenses to the bishop and smile.
00:35:42 --> 00:35:48 And if you want to give me one more soupy scavenge, there's that group of nine.
00:35:49 --> 00:35:54 Oh, okay. I don't have the scavenge skill on this iteration of DACA,
00:35:54 --> 00:35:58 so I'm going to say that I'm not looting.
00:35:58 --> 00:36:04 I'm just trusting on them to share anything that comes up that might be shareable. Sounds good.
00:36:05 --> 00:36:12 So second scavenge there, Adam. Okay. I have got black 18 over red three.
00:36:13 --> 00:36:14 All right. You find another eight bounty.
00:36:15 --> 00:36:19 Okay. So that's 20 bounty. Not too bad. You're actually making a job out of
00:36:19 --> 00:36:22 this, depending on even regardless of what they give you on the way back.
00:36:23 --> 00:36:26 And that leaves one last group you can scavenge, which was the two.
00:36:27 --> 00:36:30 Do you want to do that? Or do you want, or do you want to take it? No, I can do it.
00:36:32 --> 00:36:42 13 and 12. 13 black red 12 uh you find another three boy this was a lucrative uh use of grenades.
00:36:45 --> 00:36:49 So because you use grenades and you use them indoors on the second floor of
00:36:49 --> 00:36:56 a large mall can someone give me another d20 and call high or low sounds like a david roll,
00:36:56 --> 00:37:01 why don't i do that the grenadier can do that one let's go low this time,
00:37:02 --> 00:37:08 5 all right you didn't collapse the skyway between two of the buildings so you
00:37:08 --> 00:37:14 didn't add a leg onto your journey all right that takes care of this area is
00:37:14 --> 00:37:18 anything anyone wants to do before they move on i can't think of anything we're
00:37:18 --> 00:37:20 good all right give me another e20 for that next leg.
00:37:22 --> 00:37:27 11 all right as you move into the next area of the skyway this is one of those
00:37:27 --> 00:37:32 large buildings It has an atrium and a big downstairs, you know, first floor area.
00:37:32 --> 00:37:34 And the skyway kind of brings that around the top.
00:37:35 --> 00:37:39 And you're looking down and, hey, haven't you been here before?
00:37:40 --> 00:37:45 There's a fountain and there's a crash Humvee and a whole bunch of dead soldiers.
00:37:46 --> 00:37:48 And someone give me another 2D20.
00:37:49 --> 00:37:53 David, you can't do the honors. I might as well. Do, do, do.
00:37:55 --> 00:37:58 Well red one black 19
00:37:58 --> 00:38:01 because you all have been through here before and
00:38:01 --> 00:38:04 kind of sort of cleared this area before there's really there's one
00:38:04 --> 00:38:07 casualty left it looked like it wandered in out of the streets and it's downstairs
00:38:07 --> 00:38:10 it's not even on the skyway level but again
00:38:10 --> 00:38:12 there's a crash humvee a big fountain with a bunch of
00:38:12 --> 00:38:16 dead casualties and and dead soldiers in it and one casualty that wandered from
00:38:16 --> 00:38:20 the streets nine chamble away you could easily bypass if you didn't want to
00:38:20 --> 00:38:25 deal with them or you know you could apply more daca so there's more loot but
00:38:25 --> 00:38:29 there's only one casualty i'm gonna look at snips and be like snips this one's
00:38:29 --> 00:38:32 all you you can do it quiet so we can go steal some stuff,
00:38:34 --> 00:38:36 i will go ahead and burn the charge.
00:38:38 --> 00:38:39 And you,
00:38:40 --> 00:38:43 the casualty before DACA has even a chance to pull up.
00:38:44 --> 00:38:50 And that is a black 16 over a red six.
00:38:50 --> 00:38:54 That's a great. All right. Yeah. You take that thing down. It just,
00:38:54 --> 00:38:56 it falls and it falls into the fountain.
00:38:57 --> 00:39:01 Noel, having not been here before is eager to go through all the military equipment
00:39:01 --> 00:39:03 and see if he can find some cool shit.
00:39:04 --> 00:39:06 Nothing but a bunch of raccoons in there. No, leave them alone.
00:39:09 --> 00:39:12 Yeah, no, Well, you do when you, I imagine this means you're descending down
00:39:12 --> 00:39:15 from the skyway level down to the ground level in the atrium.
00:39:16 --> 00:39:21 Yes. As you do that, you notice that the escalators, they're the only way up
00:39:21 --> 00:39:23 and down because again, the power is out right now.
00:39:23 --> 00:39:25 Even to this area of the skyway, it hasn't been restored. I mean,
00:39:25 --> 00:39:27 this is still affected by the short.
00:39:28 --> 00:39:32 The escalators are off. It looks like there's kind of a pile of casualties at
00:39:32 --> 00:39:36 the bottom of the escalator. you realize that, you know, whoever was in here
00:39:36 --> 00:39:40 set them all to down, which kept the casualties largely off the second floor.
00:39:41 --> 00:39:45 But with the power out, that's a, that's now a corridor up to the top.
00:39:46 --> 00:39:50 Nothing wrong with this, just commenting that that's what you see as you move down the escalator.
00:39:51 --> 00:39:55 And when you get down, you do see that there are casualties out on the street,
00:39:55 --> 00:40:01 but there's only one hole through the big glass facade leading into this atrium.
00:40:01 --> 00:40:06 And it's partially clogged by the Humvee, which appears to have crashed through it to get in here.
00:40:07 --> 00:40:14 I would like to scavenge for a like upgrade for the weapon on my trunk.
00:40:15 --> 00:40:18 Right now, it's got a shotgun mounted on top of it. I'd like to see if I could
00:40:18 --> 00:40:24 find a weapon that might be suitable for improving the Dronkie as a weapons platform.
00:40:24 --> 00:40:28 That sounds good. Give me that scavenge roll. I also just want to mention that
00:40:28 --> 00:40:31 your Dronkie couldn't follow you down because the only way down was a narrow escalator.
00:40:31 --> 00:40:34 So you're down here without your Dronkie. Okay. Shotgun.
00:40:36 --> 00:40:40 That is a 10 over 12.
00:40:42 --> 00:40:47 All right. Yeah, no, that's a success. what kind of upgrade are you looking
00:40:47 --> 00:40:49 for? For the shotgun? Are you looking for a different weapon?
00:40:49 --> 00:40:52 Yeah, if I could find a belt-fed,
00:40:54 --> 00:40:57 M60 or something like that, maybe the pentel-mounted thing on top of the Humvee,
00:40:59 --> 00:41:05 I'm not able to use it now, but with some downtime, I would be able to apply
00:41:05 --> 00:41:07 that to Drunky for future use.
00:41:09 --> 00:41:12 Yeah, there absolutely is one of those mounted on top of the Humvee,
00:41:12 --> 00:41:16 on the little turret. You will need to take it off and you need to be careful
00:41:16 --> 00:41:20 not to make too much noise to attract the casualties.
00:41:20 --> 00:41:25 And I would also say that it would take some, some doing to get it up the escalator
00:41:25 --> 00:41:26 and would also take a haul on your dronky.
00:41:27 --> 00:41:29 I am perfectly content to deal with all of that.
00:41:30 --> 00:41:34 What are you, the rest of you guys doing while Null is down there drooling over
00:41:34 --> 00:41:36 things attached to the Humvee?
00:41:36 --> 00:41:40 Standing nearby to provide cover. That's good.
00:41:42 --> 00:41:47 Overwatch, maybe checking if he's watching the immediate, maybe I could scout
00:41:47 --> 00:41:49 further ahead and kind of watch it.
00:41:49 --> 00:41:55 Not out of a leg or anything like that, but just kind of watching the direction we're coming from.
00:41:55 --> 00:42:00 Razors, there's a fountain here. Would you mind digging through it and seeing
00:42:00 --> 00:42:02 if there's anything in there before you go too far?
00:42:04 --> 00:42:07 Yeah. Just total...
00:42:09 --> 00:42:15 I was just going to say, just totally not bothering with engaging on the, can't get my name right.
00:42:16 --> 00:42:18 Hey, scissors. Hey.
00:42:19 --> 00:42:22 So, just scavenge on the water fountain, is what you're saying?
00:42:23 --> 00:42:27 Yeah, let's do that first, just because there are more roles with Null's disassembly
00:42:27 --> 00:42:29 and carting away of the weapon.
00:42:30 --> 00:42:37 Okay, I don't think there's anything that would be black 14 under red 20.
00:42:38 --> 00:42:40 Yeah, no, you're absolutely right. It looks pretty pick clean.
00:42:40 --> 00:42:43 The one statility that was taken down didn't have anything on it.
00:42:43 --> 00:42:48 Man, there's a lot of blight in this fountain base. It's soupy, too. Gross.
00:42:49 --> 00:42:54 Ugh. All right, Null. Give me that mechanics check to remove the weapon.
00:42:54 --> 00:42:59 I will say that crit fails will draw casualties in, whereas fails will just,
00:42:59 --> 00:43:04 you know, take a charge of rations. That is a failure.
00:43:05 --> 00:43:09 All right. You work at it, and, man, it's bolted in there tight.
00:43:11 --> 00:43:15 Spend those rations. You can roll again. You didn't break anything or anything,
00:43:15 --> 00:43:18 but it still took some rations. This one's looking better.
00:43:18 --> 00:43:22 That was an 18 black and an 18 red, too. Nice.
00:43:23 --> 00:43:28 So that would be a critical success. Oh, yeah. No, it releases silently.
00:43:28 --> 00:43:32 You missed one of the bolts the first time, but, man, with that one off,
00:43:32 --> 00:43:34 it's free. It's in your arms.
00:43:35 --> 00:43:38 It's amazing what happens when you actually disassemble it correctly, guys. Jaste.
00:43:39 --> 00:43:44 Yep. And it'll take a resistance, I think, to get it up the escalator,
00:43:44 --> 00:43:45 if you want to take it up to blow it on your drop.
00:43:46 --> 00:43:49 I'm going to spend two rations to do my resistance roll.
00:43:49 --> 00:43:52 And I'll say the same thing applies. You know, if you fail, you just spent the
00:43:52 --> 00:43:55 rations. But if you crit fail, you made a bunch of noise.
00:43:55 --> 00:43:58 So I rolled 11 over 1.
00:43:59 --> 00:44:01 Which would be a crit fail. Correct. Correct.
00:44:01 --> 00:44:04 Modified modified it's it's 13 over one
00:44:04 --> 00:44:07 but i rolled 11 or what but sadly
00:44:07 --> 00:44:11 it was a crit fail so roll me a 2d 20 all right five
00:44:11 --> 00:44:14 and 13 all right
00:44:14 --> 00:44:17 so shears i'm sorry snips and
00:44:17 --> 00:44:21 daca there is this almighty platter as
00:44:21 --> 00:44:24 as null is trying to get this this belt fed
00:44:24 --> 00:44:27 weapon that was on the top of the humvee up the escalator
00:44:27 --> 00:44:30 and man did man if
00:44:30 --> 00:44:33 he didn't somehow manage to kind of wedge himself in that escalator a
00:44:33 --> 00:44:38 little bit when he he he did that and that was uh five and thirteen you said
00:44:38 --> 00:44:45 right uh five casualties wander in off the streets three shamble away just like
00:44:45 --> 00:44:49 in lord of the rings when they dropped the helmet or sword or whatever and it
00:44:49 --> 00:44:52 clattered at the battle of the thing,
00:44:54 --> 00:44:55 down in the deep yeah.
00:44:59 --> 00:45:03 Lord okay all right who wants
00:45:03 --> 00:45:08 to do what well let's see there's five at three you said five at three i'm gonna
00:45:08 --> 00:45:13 make there be less of them and this is your unsilenced heavy rifle right yes
00:45:13 --> 00:45:21 all right there'll be less in this group more overall potentially uh let's see that is,
00:45:22 --> 00:45:30 on the dice 14 and 13 black 14 and to be fair i do have a shoot at three so technically four,
00:45:31 --> 00:45:36 sounds like you took one out correct me if i if i give you fewer kills than
00:45:36 --> 00:45:43 you think are appropriate for any any skills and or upgrades you have yeah now
00:45:43 --> 00:45:47 there's only four sorry go ahead i was gonna say it is a heavy rifle so i am
00:45:47 --> 00:45:51 fairly certain that that one is very dead, but yes.
00:45:52 --> 00:45:58 Yes, it is an X casualty. It is no more. However, I do need 2d20. Let's see...
00:45:59 --> 00:46:03 Work with that one person, Sean, that like, you know, they make more work for
00:46:03 --> 00:46:05 you than you really needed to have.
00:46:07 --> 00:46:14 Red 15, black 1. The glass that the Humvee had driven through,
00:46:14 --> 00:46:16 and the hole that it was plugging,
00:46:17 --> 00:46:22 was pretty weakened already, and man, sure, if that whole wall of glass doesn't
00:46:22 --> 00:46:26 just shatter and a bunch of casualties just spill right in, so there are five
00:46:26 --> 00:46:28 casualties at the 1 that come in right by the Humvee.
00:46:28 --> 00:46:30 Oh, shit. This is a casual ace.
00:46:33 --> 00:46:36 Sorry. Rest on. No, no, no problem.
00:46:37 --> 00:46:39 Doctor, when you were providing Overwatch, were you providing that from the
00:46:39 --> 00:46:42 first floor, from the second floor? From the first floor.
00:46:43 --> 00:46:47 All right. Then these distances do count for you. Snips, what are you doing?
00:46:48 --> 00:46:50 Rethinking a lot of my decisions.
00:46:52 --> 00:46:56 All right. Something asshole coworker. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. So what about,
00:46:56 --> 00:47:00 so how close are they to, I guess I was on the ground if I was going through
00:47:00 --> 00:47:02 the fountain and stuff like that.
00:47:03 --> 00:47:08 Is he going to be able to get that mount all the way up that escalator real quick?
00:47:08 --> 00:47:14 Or if I were to assist him and going up the escalator, carrying the other end
00:47:14 --> 00:47:16 of it, would that expedite that?
00:47:16 --> 00:47:18 That's my main question, getting him out of the way.
00:47:19 --> 00:47:25 I think that you could spend a, let's just say there's one to get it unstuck
00:47:25 --> 00:47:27 from the escalator and one to get the rest of the way up. and either of you
00:47:27 --> 00:47:28 can roll that resistance.
00:47:29 --> 00:47:31 So we just need two successes to get the rest of the way up.
00:47:32 --> 00:47:37 All right. So I will do...
00:47:38 --> 00:47:42 You know what? Screw it. I'll try to do both of them.
00:47:44 --> 00:47:47 It takes a woman's finesse here. So let's see.
00:47:47 --> 00:47:52 Let me double check because I have not rolled strength on this one right now. Or is that resistance?
00:47:53 --> 00:47:57 Resistance, yeah. Okay. Okay. All right.
00:47:59 --> 00:48:04 So that is black 11 over red three.
00:48:05 --> 00:48:08 That ends up being. Actually, it would be. It would be. It would actually.
00:48:08 --> 00:48:11 Yeah, it would be 11. Yeah. I'm sorry. What was the natural role on that one?
00:48:13 --> 00:48:17 It's red three, black seven. Yeah, that's still a success.
00:48:18 --> 00:48:21 Yeah. So, yep. You're able to unwedge the thing. You got it twisted,
00:48:21 --> 00:48:23 you know, off the diagonal where it was.
00:48:23 --> 00:48:26 So it's aimed straight up the escalator again. Yeah.
00:48:28 --> 00:48:33 Did you say you wanted to use both of yours to then get it up as well? Yeah.
00:48:34 --> 00:48:37 Alright, give me other resistance, and remember to mark off your rations. Okay.
00:48:38 --> 00:48:44 Okay, so that is black 20 over red 7.
00:48:45 --> 00:48:49 That does in fact sound like a success. You're able to pop it up there,
00:48:49 --> 00:48:51 and Null, you still have your actions this round.
00:48:52 --> 00:49:02 I'm going to use my to get up the stairs of the escalator and my tactic to make
00:49:02 --> 00:49:04 a drone shoot casualties.
00:49:05 --> 00:49:09 All right. Which group are you shooting at? The closest to Daka.
00:49:10 --> 00:49:15 The five at the one. Got it. Okay. And that is a 17 over two.
00:49:15 --> 00:49:18 All right. You take one of those out. It's now four at the one for Daka.
00:49:19 --> 00:49:25 And can I... Yeah, you still have your twitch. I was going to use my twitch to move one leg back.
00:49:25 --> 00:49:30 All right you're now to the base of the escalator so nobody nobody moves up on you this turn,
00:49:31 --> 00:49:36 but since you used your shotgun can you give me a 2d20 10 and
00:49:36 --> 00:49:39 one boy if 10 10 casualties
00:49:39 --> 00:49:42 don't don't tumble out of the other side of that piece of
00:49:42 --> 00:49:44 glass it just broke this is this is probably where
00:49:44 --> 00:49:48 the hurricane siren that we set off to get out of the hotel was
00:49:48 --> 00:49:50 at yeah they probably brought you over here to the ids center
00:49:50 --> 00:49:53 for sure yeah so that starts our
00:49:53 --> 00:49:56 round out four to three four at the one and ten at
00:49:56 --> 00:50:00 the one with both null and
00:50:00 --> 00:50:06 snips being on the second story and daka being down below by themselves considering
00:50:06 --> 00:50:12 who wants to go first this round i would like to go first this round okay no
00:50:12 --> 00:50:19 wants to disengage the break on the escalator that.
00:50:20 --> 00:50:23 Is not on so that it like it
00:50:23 --> 00:50:26 just sits there loose and like if anybody like a casualty tries
00:50:26 --> 00:50:31 to climb up on this thing it'll right back down yeah sure give me a mechanics
00:50:31 --> 00:50:40 check 13 plus three right mechanics is three as well all right oh yeah three
00:50:40 --> 00:50:45 okay so 16 over 15 yeah absolutely that,
00:50:45 --> 00:50:48 one is disengaged that is now a fun house.
00:50:49 --> 00:50:53 Chipper shutter slide on that one side you still
00:50:53 --> 00:50:56 have your twitch for my twitch i'm just
00:50:56 --> 00:51:02 gonna tell daka to get his ass up the stairs all right for forewarning of like
00:51:02 --> 00:51:08 use the one that you're standing on don't try to jump over got it got it next
00:51:08 --> 00:51:15 i'm gonna leg it up the stairs because that's a few too many for me right now.
00:51:15 --> 00:51:19 The math doesn't math there, I don't think. Not really well,
00:51:19 --> 00:51:22 no. So is this an athletics to get up the stairs fast?
00:51:23 --> 00:51:26 If you want to or you can just, you know, carefully pick your way up and you're
00:51:26 --> 00:51:31 fine. Yeah, we're just gonna make it up the stairs as quick as we can.
00:51:32 --> 00:51:38 And that is a black 10, red 9. Make that a black 12, red 9.
00:51:39 --> 00:51:42 Because adding the athletics points in. yep
00:51:42 --> 00:51:45 oh it'd be and i've been thinking about this as
00:51:45 --> 00:51:48 i've been trying to do math in my head up until now i know that we
00:51:48 --> 00:51:51 normally just say the result with the addition on but give me
00:51:51 --> 00:51:54 your natural and your and your augmented roles as
00:51:54 --> 00:52:00 well i am if that makes sense yep no i know just for everybody because for strangely
00:52:00 --> 00:52:05 enough a red mark is d20 that somehow matters uh all right uh that leaves us
00:52:05 --> 00:52:11 with you still have your twitch and we also have snips check is it's a disengaged
00:52:11 --> 00:52:13 You should break on the other one now that DACA is up.
00:52:14 --> 00:52:19 Yeah. Yeah. You can do that if you have mechanics. I don't. So I can't. So. You can default it.
00:52:21 --> 00:52:24 It seems like if they're not going to make it up here just yet,
00:52:24 --> 00:52:26 it seems like, I don't know.
00:52:26 --> 00:52:31 I tell you what, you can default it, but if you fail, you were using your machete
00:52:31 --> 00:52:33 to pry something and you break it. Okay.
00:52:34 --> 00:52:39 If you decide to push. And you'll either succeed or you can break your machete to push and succeed.
00:52:40 --> 00:52:44 They're not immediately close to me as a threat anyway. I'm getting on the escalator, are they?
00:52:45 --> 00:52:49 No, the escalators themselves basically double the shamble move costs.
00:52:49 --> 00:52:52 So they would still be at a one next turn, but the next turn they'd be able
00:52:52 --> 00:52:56 to start pouring out up to here. Not, not all of them obviously, but become a problem.
00:52:56 --> 00:52:59 I just think it could probably wait till Sean's character gets to it.
00:53:00 --> 00:53:08 All right. So I'll just, I'll go ahead and actually start getting the fuck out of here.
00:53:09 --> 00:53:12 Moving away more. Got it. Got it. So again, because of the escalators,
00:53:12 --> 00:53:14 one side, they can't make it up.
00:53:14 --> 00:53:17 And the other side is still an escalator and they are the dead.
00:53:17 --> 00:53:22 So they're still technically at one shamble away this round at the bottom of the escalator.
00:53:23 --> 00:53:28 The group of ten and the group of four and the group of four at the three have
00:53:28 --> 00:53:32 moved up to the two so they're moving towards the escalator and the round begins.
00:53:32 --> 00:53:36 I'm going to do the same thing that I did last round and I'm going to disengage
00:53:36 --> 00:53:40 the break on the escalator so it can become a zombie powered meat grinder.
00:53:41 --> 00:53:43 Sounds amazing. Give me that roll.
00:53:44 --> 00:53:47 Ten, black, 12 red
00:53:47 --> 00:53:51 so 13 black faux bread
00:53:51 --> 00:53:56 that is a success they're still down there they're still clacking they're still
00:53:56 --> 00:53:59 disconcerting but they can no longer make it up because every time they step
00:53:59 --> 00:54:03 on the bottom stair it just rolls down sweet and when you said zombie powered
00:54:03 --> 00:54:07 meat grinder are they going to be destroying each other down there.
00:54:08 --> 00:54:11 Mean if there were some on on the escalator when the
00:54:11 --> 00:54:16 break was released you know they would obviously slide down and crunch and then
00:54:16 --> 00:54:19 on each other but as it stands now they're just stepping on the bottom stair
00:54:19 --> 00:54:22 and it's moving down the stairs stepping on the bottom stair it's moving down
00:54:22 --> 00:54:25 a stair one of them trips the others will go over them and will continue moving
00:54:25 --> 00:54:30 down and there could be some grinding occurring but right now it's just step slide step slide,
00:54:31 --> 00:54:34 which could change but right now it's just step slide ah pity
00:54:34 --> 00:54:38 i was gonna make sure that you got credit for those it's okay
00:54:38 --> 00:54:41 i'll take credit you know eventually it's all
00:54:41 --> 00:54:46 right oh look here's a way out of here i guess you mean like onto the next leg
00:54:46 --> 00:54:51 even if we're all in consensus we want to move on and don't want to do anything
00:54:51 --> 00:54:55 else here yeah absolutely you can move to the next leg which involves rolling
00:54:55 --> 00:55:00 another d20 adam why don't you do this one because you got to it first.
00:55:01 --> 00:55:05 I have rode a red
00:55:05 --> 00:55:08 14 black six well i
00:55:08 --> 00:55:10 only needed one d20 so let me choose and we already got
00:55:10 --> 00:55:14 a 14 so i'll take my bed all right this area
00:55:14 --> 00:55:17 of the skyway is relatively quiet it does
00:55:17 --> 00:55:20 look like there were casualties here at some point but
00:55:20 --> 00:55:23 there aren't any right now your footsteps echo
00:55:23 --> 00:55:26 through the hallways but no clacks return as you're
00:55:26 --> 00:55:29 moving through this part of the skyway you know following your tourist map on
00:55:29 --> 00:55:33 towards the government center you you probably for
00:55:33 --> 00:55:35 a bit but then this area still is without
00:55:35 --> 00:55:40 power but why is there a light on in that convenience store in the skyway up
00:55:40 --> 00:55:48 ahead huh that's weird the glass isn't broken all of the the the shells are
00:55:48 --> 00:55:53 still stocked there's nobody behind the counter but man if that looks like it was before the crash,
00:55:54 --> 00:55:59 there's one convenience store that's fully stocked and the power's on you can
00:55:59 --> 00:56:01 even hear a little bit of music hack.
00:56:02 --> 00:56:08 We got to do this, guys. Do you all want to go check that out? No, I kind of do.
00:56:09 --> 00:56:14 Huh. What is that sound? That doesn't sound like any weapon fire I've ever heard.
00:56:15 --> 00:56:22 Oh, it's smooth. It's almost jazzy. A jazzy version of honky-tonk to donk-a-donk.
00:56:22 --> 00:56:27 Considering it sounds like Sniffs is leading the charge towards this convenience
00:56:27 --> 00:56:29 store, can you give me a foresight? Yeah.
00:56:34 --> 00:56:37 All right. Well, that's blacked whale, red whale.
00:56:38 --> 00:56:42 Natural. As you're walking up to this thing, you know when you pass through
00:56:42 --> 00:56:46 the doorway of a convenience store and it makes that dee-doo noise?
00:56:47 --> 00:56:52 Yeah. Well, yeah, that dee-doo, the mechanism that makes it happen is there,
00:56:53 --> 00:56:55 but you notice that the dee-doo is actually a couple of grenades.
00:56:56 --> 00:57:01 Oh, shit. All right. Let's go ahead and dive and get out of the way.
00:57:01 --> 00:57:04 Well, no, you didn't enter in. You saw this as you were walking up.
00:57:05 --> 00:57:09 Why is there a wire from the little beam that if you break, it makes the noise?
00:57:09 --> 00:57:14 Why does that pristine convenience center have grenades at the end of this wire
00:57:14 --> 00:57:16 attached to the dedu machine at the front door?
00:57:16 --> 00:57:19 You succeeded. You crit succeeded. You see the grenades.
00:57:20 --> 00:57:25 Yeah. I will point that out. Well, guys, you could actually get grenades out
00:57:25 --> 00:57:28 of this if you want to go in there, or we could just get the hell out of this,
00:57:28 --> 00:57:31 because this is apparently booby-trapped, and I don't know why,
00:57:31 --> 00:57:34 and I don't know for what reason, but yeah.
00:57:34 --> 00:57:39 Well, if we can get the grenades safely, we can also get rations and,
00:57:39 --> 00:57:42 you know, unstock some of those shelves.
00:57:43 --> 00:57:50 Also, that is a rather catchy, you know, that smooth, jazzy sound. Yeah.
00:57:50 --> 00:57:54 Reminds me of a girl I knew from a place called, what was it?
00:57:55 --> 00:57:56 Ah, it'll come to me later.
00:57:57 --> 00:58:02 Ipanema? no no that can't be it the girl with emphysema what.
00:58:04 --> 00:58:10 So yeah pitch me something that you want to do here i happen to have some criminality.
00:58:11 --> 00:58:17 Yeah or mechanics i'm not sure which one you think would be the more appropriate
00:58:17 --> 00:58:21 of the two you could also give me an athletics it's it's you know how do you
00:58:21 --> 00:58:26 want to avoid the d-do do you want to do something to not set the D2 off and go in.
00:58:27 --> 00:58:32 You want to break and or cut the glass to get to the grenades because they are
00:58:32 --> 00:58:34 kind of right up against the front.
00:58:34 --> 00:58:39 You know, there's a cardboard cutout standee that they're kind of hidden behind,
00:58:39 --> 00:58:42 but luckily Snips was able to not be,
00:58:43 --> 00:58:47 mesmerized by that Edward from Twilight cutout standee that the grenades were
00:58:47 --> 00:58:49 hiding behind and saw them. Wow.
00:58:50 --> 00:58:53 I want to just set it off just on principle. Yeah.
00:58:54 --> 00:58:58 So what would you like to do here? I'll take whatever if you pitch it to me.
00:58:59 --> 00:59:05 Criminality to be able to make entry without tripping off the dedue or whatever
00:59:05 --> 00:59:09 to then be able to disassemble the booby trap?
00:59:10 --> 00:59:13 Yeah, I'll take that and then mechanics on the trap afterward if that first one succeeds.
00:59:14 --> 00:59:16 That's what I would like to do.
00:59:17 --> 00:59:21 And remember, you can spend extra on this and remember you can also,
00:59:21 --> 00:59:25 if you don't want grenades going off in your face you can succeed at a cost
00:59:25 --> 00:59:30 that's a very rarely used mechanic but it's there making sure I don't have anything
00:59:30 --> 00:59:33 to add to my criminality with my equipment real quick but I don't think I do.
00:59:35 --> 00:59:39 Depending on what you're doing with your criminality I might accept ration spends
00:59:39 --> 00:59:43 I mean I'm happy to spend some rations yeah I mean if you're doing something,
00:59:44 --> 00:59:48 that you think would use rations I would spend two additional,
00:59:49 --> 00:59:52 uh so my criminality is two so i
00:59:52 --> 00:59:54 rolled an eight criminality is
00:59:54 --> 00:59:59 two and i spent two so 12 black uh
00:59:59 --> 01:00:01 and 20 on the
01:00:01 --> 01:00:06 red that is strangely with the way that red mark is d20 works still a success
01:00:06 --> 01:00:12 you're able to get past the d2 without sending off the grenades it even smells
01:00:12 --> 01:00:16 clean in here isn't that weird okay i was like excited to be in here but if
01:00:16 --> 01:00:20 it smells clean as well now i'm concerned about where i'm at.
01:00:21 --> 01:00:24 Mean as clean as any convenience store ever smells but it doesn't
01:00:24 --> 01:00:28 smell like a a lost convenience store what
01:00:28 --> 01:00:36 liminal horror have i entered mechanics to disable the traps yep that sounds
01:00:36 --> 01:00:43 good roll the five plus the three mechanics so eight and a three on the red
01:00:43 --> 01:00:48 all right you have yourself some grenades and the dedu is no longer the dedu of doom.
01:00:48 --> 01:00:56 I will give the grenades to Daka and then find like old stale ass bag of Doritos
01:00:56 --> 01:00:58 and totally munched out.
01:00:59 --> 01:01:00 Well, considering we're not that
01:01:00 --> 01:01:05 far after the crash, it's still within expiration. Oh yeah. Let's be fair.
01:01:06 --> 01:01:12 Even if it was you know, five years after the crash, they're still good. They're Doritos.
01:01:13 --> 01:01:17 I would say for free with no other spends or able to refill
01:01:17 --> 01:01:19 up to your you know either get a refresh of or
01:01:19 --> 01:01:23 refill your rations for free without even scavenging
01:01:23 --> 01:01:26 i mean i'm already i've already spent eight rations so i would
01:01:26 --> 01:01:29 just take a refresh right now just call that even okay if
01:01:29 --> 01:01:32 anyone else wants to refresh their their rations that's free to do
01:01:32 --> 01:01:35 here as well so far i've only spent two but i
01:01:35 --> 01:01:38 will take those back all right this is
01:01:38 --> 01:01:42 exactly what you'd expect from a convenience store in like a hotel or a mall
01:01:42 --> 01:01:49 or something it's got snacks it's got some you know white medicine it's got
01:01:49 --> 01:01:55 a hat that says you know i've been to minneapolis you know whatever you can
01:01:55 --> 01:01:58 imagine that would be in a simple convenience store in a mall it's got it.
01:02:01 --> 01:02:08 Yeah i'd like to like fill up a haul on my dronky of like deodorant toothpaste
01:02:08 --> 01:02:13 aspirin tylenol whether it's like the little single-serve packets or they've
01:02:13 --> 01:02:14 got some little bottles.
01:02:14 --> 01:02:19 Yep, that's perfectly fine. Anything and everything that would be like generally useful.
01:02:20 --> 01:02:23 Yeah, I would say we're only a scavenge, but it's here. It's like a store.
01:02:24 --> 01:02:26 It's like, it's, yeah. No, you
01:02:26 --> 01:02:32 have a hall of what would be considered luxuries at this point. Yes. Yes.
01:02:34 --> 01:02:39 Is it safe for me to grab all of the, like, pens that they have in that one
01:02:39 --> 01:02:41 section over there? The ballpoint pens.
01:02:42 --> 01:02:44 Hall of pens. Yes, you can do that.
01:02:45 --> 01:02:50 All in like the boxes that only have three in them and you rattle around and there's a bunch of air.
01:02:51 --> 01:02:56 Even though there aren't hundreds of pens, it's still a haul because of the volume.
01:02:58 --> 01:03:02 Snips, are you looking for anything in particular in here? Really, I'm more disconcerted.
01:03:02 --> 01:03:06 I'm wanting to kind of look and see if I can figure out anything about this
01:03:06 --> 01:03:08 convenience store who did this.
01:03:09 --> 01:03:13 Is there anything else waiting to kill us here? Kind of thing like that.
01:03:14 --> 01:03:17 Sure. Yeah, no. Is it foresight or research?
01:03:18 --> 01:03:21 I would call it an awareness. If you're just searching around,
01:03:21 --> 01:03:23 looking at stuff. All right.
01:03:24 --> 01:03:30 I have got, it was red 16, black 13, unmodified.
01:03:31 --> 01:03:37 It looks like modified. I assume I add the ADP and the awareness.
01:03:37 --> 01:03:43 So that would be 17 over 16. No, that's success still.
01:03:43 --> 01:03:45 Looking around in here there's not a lot to find
01:03:45 --> 01:03:48 the back back is unlocked so
01:03:48 --> 01:03:52 you could get into the storage room it's more of the same stuff you do
01:03:52 --> 01:03:56 find on the counter where you'd be able to see it if you were at the actual
01:03:56 --> 01:04:02 register something there's a printed sheet of paper and at the top it has a
01:04:02 --> 01:04:09 you know a heading like a lot of these things do with a logo and it says macy's militia opening soon,
01:04:09 --> 01:04:12 stalking and running instructions.
01:04:13 --> 01:04:17 Macy's Militia are the Randians that hit you at the toll booth on the way into
01:04:17 --> 01:04:20 the Macy's building on the first job here.
01:04:20 --> 01:04:22 It looks like the Randians are just setting up shop.
01:04:23 --> 01:04:27 So I want to make sure there's no cameras here, just to make sure they don't come after us.
01:04:28 --> 01:04:31 Well, considering you already succeeded, I mean, there is a camera.
01:04:32 --> 01:04:37 And the little red dot is on. I said the room into the storage area was open.
01:04:37 --> 01:04:40 There is a bank of batteries back there, like a bunch of car batteries with
01:04:40 --> 01:04:42 an inverter set up that the place is running off of.
01:04:42 --> 01:04:48 I mean, that's not going to last for months. That could last for maybe a week
01:04:48 --> 01:04:49 with the power usage you're seeing here.
01:04:51 --> 01:04:55 Yeah, no, it's Macy's Militia. Damn shame if something were to happen to their tape.
01:04:55 --> 01:04:59 Damn shame if somebody were to loot all of those batteries, especially somebody
01:04:59 --> 01:05:02 that can use, you know, electronics and use those to power up the siren.
01:05:03 --> 01:05:08 I was about to say, like, I found I still have two more haul on my dronki and
01:05:08 --> 01:05:09 I would love some car batteries, man.
01:05:10 --> 01:05:15 Yep, yep. You can have those haul of car batteries on your dronki for free there.
01:05:15 --> 01:05:20 I will say that there are no tapes and that it is probably hooked up to Ubik.
01:05:21 --> 01:05:25 How dare these guys be half-assed intelligent in doing what they're doing.
01:05:25 --> 01:05:28 Yeah, no, you can absolutely do that. But just know that, you know,
01:05:29 --> 01:05:35 they probably have already created a receipt that they will try to feed to you
01:05:35 --> 01:05:41 the next time you run into Macy's Militia for the supplies that you purchased at their Skyway store.
01:05:42 --> 01:05:46 You only had three scenarios you had written for this. So in the third scenario,
01:05:46 --> 01:05:48 we'll just kill them. It's fine.
01:05:49 --> 01:05:54 The way i look at it if they want to enforce that receipt they should have had a cashier on staff,
01:05:55 --> 01:05:59 not our fault that they didn't i'm not arguing i'm just letting you know that
01:05:59 --> 01:06:04 that's probably what's going on here i mean it's ready to be staffed it looks
01:06:04 --> 01:06:07 like it's opening soon it looks like there's nobody here yet and you know since
01:06:07 --> 01:06:09 they're randians what they'll try to do oh yeah,
01:06:11 --> 01:06:19 good times we got this so you're taking that all the batteries there no oh yeah and the Muzak,
01:06:20 --> 01:06:27 grinds to a halt the lights flicker once and go off and it's just another abandoned
01:06:27 --> 01:06:30 but yet clean shop in the skyway,
01:06:31 --> 01:06:36 How many legs is this down so far? This was your fourth leg, I believe.
01:06:36 --> 01:06:41 So now you get your choice of going around in the Skyway two legs or going into
01:06:41 --> 01:06:45 the maintenance tunnels underneath the city to get to the government building
01:06:45 --> 01:06:46 and it only being one leg.
01:06:47 --> 01:06:51 Guys, now we got to go through the tunnel. I mean, yeah, obviously.
01:06:52 --> 01:06:57 Absolutely through that tunnel. I will say that you have the possibility of
01:06:57 --> 01:06:59 getting lost in the maintenance tunnels because up until now you've had this
01:06:59 --> 01:07:03 delightful map of the skyway system to get you around.
01:07:03 --> 01:07:06 But you could get lost in the tunnels because they do branch off and it is,
01:07:06 --> 01:07:09 you know, maintenance infrastructure underneath the city.
01:07:09 --> 01:07:11 Yeah, I get it.
01:07:13 --> 01:07:16 So consensus tunnels it is.
01:07:17 --> 01:07:22 Okay. All right. As you move out of this area, it was circled on the map because
01:07:22 --> 01:07:24 they knew you might want to take the tunnels.
01:07:24 --> 01:07:28 There's a back stairwell that leads down, not to the ground floor,
01:07:29 --> 01:07:34 but directly into the back room, so to speak, of the maintenance areas of this
01:07:34 --> 01:07:37 building, and then another stairwell that leads down into the tunnels.
01:07:38 --> 01:07:42 Are you big charged to actually research to see if I can find the schematics
01:07:42 --> 01:07:45 for the tunnels, like a map? Sure. Give me research for that.
01:07:45 --> 01:07:48 All right, let me see what I got for research.
01:07:48 --> 01:07:50 All right, I got...
01:07:51 --> 01:08:00 So, yeah, that is red 14 over black 4, unmodified.
01:08:01 --> 01:08:06 Modified, it's 14 over 7. Well, you gave me a 4 of 4 is what you gave me right
01:08:06 --> 01:08:08 there. Yeah. 4 of 14, yeah.
01:08:08 --> 01:08:11 You know, that's a crit success. You are able to find the schematics.
01:08:11 --> 01:08:15 There's actually also a ubic video of urban
01:08:15 --> 01:08:18 explorers urban explorers before the
01:08:18 --> 01:08:21 crash who ran around down here it
01:08:21 --> 01:08:24 is what you expect you know it's a lot of concrete tunnels some of them big
01:08:24 --> 01:08:27 enough to drive a cart down some of them wide enough
01:08:27 --> 01:08:30 for a person there are steam pipes there's cabling
01:08:30 --> 01:08:33 there's all sorts of stuff that you'd expect to find underground
01:08:33 --> 01:08:36 in city infrastructure including you know
01:08:36 --> 01:08:40 like little rooms where stuff is stored and all of that give me one more d20
01:08:40 --> 01:08:49 this just fun here funsies yeah yeah 17 all right moving through the tunnels
01:08:49 --> 01:08:53 it is very very quiet you occasionally hear a little bit of of a drip.
01:08:54 --> 01:08:59 Drip you know which is normal you know water and stuff underground it's been
01:08:59 --> 01:09:02 largely uneventful you're following the urbex people who were strangely enough
01:09:02 --> 01:09:03 going to the government building,
01:09:04 --> 01:09:10 and you start you start feeling a breeze and smelling i don't know what smells kind of like,
01:09:11 --> 01:09:14 horadite and and burned modern materials kind
01:09:14 --> 01:09:17 of coming from up ahead in in the tunnels and again
01:09:17 --> 01:09:20 it's pitch dark except for the light from your ubix and any any
01:09:20 --> 01:09:23 my drone's gonna flash any other light sources you
01:09:23 --> 01:09:26 brought with you i think i had a headlamp on the helmet
01:09:26 --> 01:09:29 that's the reason i took the helmet the drunk he's
01:09:29 --> 01:09:32 got the headlights like from from data and goonies on the
01:09:32 --> 01:09:37 front of it i'm sure right they're no the drunk he doesn't have headlights but
01:09:37 --> 01:09:42 the drone does okay if you're flying the drone you don't forget to market charge
01:09:42 --> 01:09:46 off the drone if you're using that as your flying buzzing headlight or even
01:09:46 --> 01:09:51 if you're just holding it up it still takes some battery yeah yeah as you're going through here.
01:09:53 --> 01:09:57 Do you do anything differently when you start feeling the breeze and smelling the smells?
01:09:57 --> 01:10:02 Does it smell like an active fire, or does it smell like something that has
01:10:02 --> 01:10:06 been burned, but is no longer actively burning?
01:10:07 --> 01:10:10 It smells like something that has been burned that's no longer actively burning.
01:10:10 --> 01:10:14 It's just the smell of modern materials that have burned and melted into each
01:10:14 --> 01:10:17 other. It's that smell if you've ever smelled a house fire.
01:10:17 --> 01:10:22 That's why I ask, because I've smelled both active house fires and after they
01:10:22 --> 01:10:23 have burnt, and they are not the same smell.
01:10:24 --> 01:10:27 It is a cold house fire smell.
01:10:27 --> 01:10:32 No, I think I'm going to just keep on going until we get to wherever it is that we're going here.
01:10:33 --> 01:10:36 So, yeah, I'm just going to kind of tap my nose and looking at everybody,
01:10:36 --> 01:10:40 just kind of question mark look on my face.
01:10:41 --> 01:10:44 And you're still just following the urbex path from the Ubik video?
01:10:45 --> 01:10:49 Mm-hmm. All right. The smell gets a little bit stronger and the breeze generally stays the same.
01:10:50 --> 01:10:54 And you see up ahead what looks like some natural light. You're only about halfway
01:10:54 --> 01:10:57 through the tunnels to get to the government building at this point.
01:10:57 --> 01:11:02 But there is some natural light that accompanies the breeze and the burnt smell. Oh my.
01:11:03 --> 01:11:08 If you continue, which I imagine you do. We're going to have to go look at it. Yeah.
01:11:08 --> 01:11:11 Yeah. You come into one of the larger rooms underneath here.
01:11:11 --> 01:11:15 You know, it's not just tunnel. and it looks like there's a hole in the roof
01:11:15 --> 01:11:19 where some explosion has happened and stuff has fallen down inside and burned.
01:11:20 --> 01:11:24 There aren't any in there, but you do kind of hear some clacking from up above.
01:11:25 --> 01:11:29 It's not just like a hole in the roof. It's like a crater with a slope of debris
01:11:29 --> 01:11:33 down into where you're at. It looks like something exploded on the surface up above and burned.
01:11:33 --> 01:11:39 I just kind of look over at DACA and just pleadingly, like shaking my head,
01:11:39 --> 01:11:41 like, don't shoot at anything.
01:11:42 --> 01:11:47 Make the no symbol and the shoot symbol. Yeah. Yeah. And in that,
01:11:47 --> 01:11:49 the hands, like in a prayer gesture. Yeah.
01:11:50 --> 01:11:56 So just continuing on after this? Yeah, I mean, yeah.
01:11:56 --> 01:12:01 Unless you want to go up to the surface and investigate, and I don't think that's a good idea.
01:12:01 --> 01:12:04 That's where you're going to get overwhelmed with casualties at.
01:12:05 --> 01:12:12 Well, look, I've already got 35 for the day, so I feel like I have done my duty
01:12:12 --> 01:12:15 to the math, but I can do more.
01:12:15 --> 01:12:21 I can definitely do more. I've restocked on grenades, but we'll save them for when we need them.
01:12:22 --> 01:12:28 All right. Not to be a total dick, but Null, can you give me just a drone piloting roll?
01:12:29 --> 01:12:31 No need to use a charge or anything. Just let me know the results.
01:12:32 --> 01:12:40 So, black 7, red 10. My drone piloting is 3, so I end up in a 10.
01:12:40 --> 01:12:43 Kind of ties go to the market thing? Yeah.
01:12:43 --> 01:12:46 Nothing particularly bad happens but your dronki does you
01:12:46 --> 01:12:49 know make quite a bit of noise moving through some of
01:12:49 --> 01:12:52 the the debris that's fallen down into the area that you're in and
01:12:52 --> 01:13:01 just give me 2d20 six on the black and 18 on the red all right based on that
01:13:01 --> 01:13:06 sound that that occurred there are six casualties eight shambles away kind of
01:13:06 --> 01:13:11 at the top of the the crater the the ramp of debris coming down,
01:13:13 --> 01:13:15 you can easily bypass them but they are there.
01:13:16 --> 01:13:20 I'm okay to bypass them bypass
01:13:20 --> 01:13:23 them we were already on our way out so I think
01:13:23 --> 01:13:26 just keep on keep on keeping on just keep
01:13:26 --> 01:13:29 on keeping on your hatchbacks are awfully itchy
01:13:29 --> 01:13:36 though Daka just saying I will gladly roll a self control to keep on going because
01:13:36 --> 01:13:46 fuzzy math yep this is a compel I know it oh red 10 black one oh you're fine.
01:13:47 --> 01:13:50 Method yeah no your your hash marks are itchy but you're able
01:13:50 --> 01:13:54 to control yourself it's not i mean that that's
01:13:54 --> 01:13:57 six more hash marks that's a whole five plus one no it's
01:13:57 --> 01:14:00 fine it's fine it's fine and you
01:14:00 --> 01:14:03 can continue on yeah no the the tunnels stay pretty
01:14:03 --> 01:14:06 much the same they're dark they're narrow they're wide
01:14:06 --> 01:14:09 they have pipes and things in them but you
01:14:09 --> 01:14:12 have made it to a door from
01:14:12 --> 01:14:16 the maintenance area marked government building excellent let's
01:14:16 --> 01:14:20 see we didn't have to go outside i posted in
01:14:20 --> 01:14:23 the red markets d20 chat a picture of the government
01:14:23 --> 01:14:26 building this is off of the tourism brochure that
01:14:26 --> 01:14:29 you have one of the areas that's featured and
01:14:29 --> 01:14:34 has a little little sub note on it you'll notice that there's a large open square
01:14:34 --> 01:14:38 in front of it with some light rail tracks the building on the left with the
01:14:38 --> 01:14:43 kind of greenish roots is the government building there's a neat fountain with
01:14:43 --> 01:14:47 a hole that goes into the underground it looks like there in front and in In
01:14:47 --> 01:14:48 the back left of the picture,
01:14:49 --> 01:14:52 you can see the downtown stadium, the U.S. Bank Stadium.
01:14:54 --> 01:14:58 That's kind of the area out front of your workspace here that you've arrived at.
01:14:58 --> 01:15:03 But you are underground and presented with a door that is closed that's marked
01:15:03 --> 01:15:05 Government Plaza Access.
01:15:06 --> 01:15:11 Foresight to check and see, or not foresight, but is it rigged to do anything bad?
01:15:12 --> 01:15:14 That would be an awareness, I think, in this case, or a criminality.
01:15:15 --> 01:15:21 I mean, my awareness is only who, Sean, how's your criminality? It's also two.
01:15:21 --> 01:15:25 You want to do it or you want me to do it? Don't matter. You did an excellent
01:15:25 --> 01:15:27 job with the grenades, so I'd say it's all you've been.
01:15:28 --> 01:15:30 All right, let's see.
01:15:32 --> 01:15:38 Well, that is black four over unmodified.
01:15:39 --> 01:15:43 No, excuse me. It's black 14 over red four unmodified.
01:15:43 --> 01:15:49 So it'd be a crit, I guess you could say, without me adding pluses to it.
01:15:49 --> 01:15:52 It is, in fact, a crit success. No, the door is not rigged to blow.
01:15:53 --> 01:15:58 It is locked. However, there is a little number panel next to it.
01:15:58 --> 01:16:02 That still has power because it looks like, you know, we're past where the short
01:16:02 --> 01:16:08 cutoff downtown's power and three of the buttons on it have very,
01:16:08 --> 01:16:11 very smudged surfaces, which means obviously, you know,
01:16:11 --> 01:16:14 these three are part of the key code to get in.
01:16:16 --> 01:16:22 So it's not locked and it's obvious. It would be an easy role to unlock said door, but it is locked.
01:16:22 --> 01:16:25 I use the same combination on my luggage.
01:16:26 --> 01:16:27 You do in the door open.
01:16:29 --> 01:16:33 Baseballs the quest for more money coming soon that's
01:16:33 --> 01:16:36 right so the door with the smudges and
01:16:36 --> 01:16:39 the crit success pops open for you this leads
01:16:39 --> 01:16:42 into the area that you can tell is just underneath the plaza
01:16:42 --> 01:16:47 in front because there is a shaft of light coming down so you're underneath
01:16:47 --> 01:16:51 the fountain there are a bunch of pumps and things in this area that obviously
01:16:51 --> 01:16:56 used to run the fountain but they are silent and off currently you're in a large
01:16:56 --> 01:17:00 maintenance room underneath the fountain and underneath the plaza in front of the government center.
01:17:00 --> 01:17:05 Does it look like what we're looking for would be down here or is it further in the building?
01:17:06 --> 01:17:08 It seems to be further in the building. You're still kind of across the street,
01:17:08 --> 01:17:11 so to speak, across the light rail from the building.
01:17:11 --> 01:17:14 But entering the area, please someone roll me a D20.
01:17:15 --> 01:17:21 How does a 11 grab you? It grabs me as we've already had that one. Please give me a new one.
01:17:21 --> 01:17:25 Okay. Eight. I can work with an eight.
01:17:26 --> 01:17:30 You're in the Spanish area. It's clearly pretty wide open.
01:17:31 --> 01:17:34 You can see it's large enough to have vehicles in. In fact, there is a car in here.
01:17:35 --> 01:17:38 It does look like it's missing its tires for some reason, like someone stole
01:17:38 --> 01:17:40 the wheels off of it and it's just sitting on the ground.
01:17:40 --> 01:17:45 But it's a long, long, open maintenance area with a bunch of equipment.
01:17:45 --> 01:17:48 At the other end of it, you can see these large roll-up doors that obviously
01:17:48 --> 01:17:51 lead out somewhere where you can drive out of down here.
01:17:51 --> 01:17:55 And over near those roll-up doors, off to the right-hand side,
01:17:55 --> 01:18:00 there are some wide stairwells that lead up and just judging on distance that's
01:18:00 --> 01:18:04 probably leading up into the building well we should probably head for the stairs
01:18:04 --> 01:18:07 but i do wonder what's in that car.
01:18:07 --> 01:18:10 Or what is up with that car should i
01:18:10 --> 01:18:13 make an awareness roll as i get close to it yeah you
01:18:13 --> 01:18:16 can make an awareness roll will you accept a
01:18:16 --> 01:18:20 12 over 10 i certainly
01:18:20 --> 01:18:23 will yeah no it's just a car the wheels have been stolen the
01:18:23 --> 01:18:26 interior has been stripped it looks like this has been here since maybe before
01:18:26 --> 01:18:29 the crash uh there's some graffiti on the side it doesn't
01:18:29 --> 01:18:31 look like it happened here but it looks like it was you know kind of drug inside and just
01:18:31 --> 01:18:34 left here to be stored there's really nothing going on with
01:18:34 --> 01:18:38 it and not a lot of value to it because it's been this is a stripped car i
01:18:38 --> 01:18:41 won't lie that's not what i expected at all uh yeah
01:18:41 --> 01:18:45 were you expecting a raccoon a little bit yeah i mean
01:18:45 --> 01:18:48 the graffiti on one of the doors is a satellite face of a
01:18:48 --> 01:18:51 raccoon but that's all you see there and strangely
01:18:51 --> 01:18:54 enough next to it there's a leg like a
01:18:54 --> 01:18:58 graffiti of a leg but again nothing nothing weird it's fine that's fine
01:18:58 --> 01:19:05 this was just one of those cars we used and people played crash pandas it is
01:19:05 --> 01:19:08 kind of beaten it up beaten up it looks like maybe somebody stole it and used
01:19:08 --> 01:19:11 it that way and then dumped it yeah maybe so yeah you're just in this maintenance
01:19:11 --> 01:19:15 area there's nothing going on with the car there is a way up in the building up ahead,
01:19:15 --> 01:19:18 Obviously, there are more tunnels that lead off into other infrastructure areas
01:19:18 --> 01:19:19 underneath the city as well.
01:19:20 --> 01:19:22 We know where we're going. I see no point in hesitating.
01:19:24 --> 01:19:27 All right. Does that mean you're approaching the stairs? Indeed.
01:19:29 --> 01:19:33 Somebody give me a D6. I've got one handy. How about a three?
01:19:34 --> 01:19:37 Yeah, I can totally work with a three. He sounded too eager for that one.
01:19:38 --> 01:19:42 I don't know what you mean. So yeah, no, you approach the stairs.
01:19:42 --> 01:19:44 They are in fact just stairs that go up. Apparently, you know,
01:19:44 --> 01:19:48 you're far enough down that this is like the sub-basement beneath the basement
01:19:48 --> 01:19:49 beneath the government building.
01:19:49 --> 01:19:52 And up the stairs is the actual basement of the government building.
01:19:52 --> 01:19:56 It looks more like an office building and less like a maintenance area.
01:19:56 --> 01:20:00 There are a couple of different ways to go here. There are things that are clearly
01:20:00 --> 01:20:08 marked waterworks, clearly marked electrical switching, clearly marked city records.
01:20:08 --> 01:20:12 You know, all the things you could imagine that you would have underneath or
01:20:12 --> 01:20:15 in a government building. It's pretty well marked. There are pretty good signs
01:20:15 --> 01:20:16 leading you where you want to go.
01:20:16 --> 01:20:19 The electrical switching is down a
01:20:19 --> 01:20:22 long hallway that you think would lead you to
01:20:22 --> 01:20:25 the left side of the building if you're on the right side of the building now kind
01:20:25 --> 01:20:28 of towards the back where as right now you're kind of towards the front also
01:20:28 --> 01:20:34 along that direction are the city records rooms but the water controls are in
01:20:34 --> 01:20:38 a different corner you know not in the same direction as the electrical i mean
01:20:38 --> 01:20:45 we need the electrical to get the job done but like city records would probably be high-value stuff.
01:20:46 --> 01:20:51 Sure, you want to check that out? Yeah, because they should have detailed schematics
01:20:51 --> 01:20:55 of all the underground tunnel systems, all of the Skywalk stuff.
01:20:56 --> 01:20:59 We could have real maps and not be dependent on the tourist map.
01:21:00 --> 01:21:04 Where the city equipment is and what's in stock, all that above.
01:21:04 --> 01:21:07 Yeah, no, that sounds like an actual very, very valuable thing. You're right.
01:21:08 --> 01:21:12 I will mention that the power is on here. It's kind of like when you come into
01:21:12 --> 01:21:16 an office building on the weekend, though. So, you know, it's not fully lit up. The AC is not on.
01:21:16 --> 01:21:20 Just, you know, every other light is on, like for emergency lighting kind of deal.
01:21:21 --> 01:21:25 So you're heading off towards the city records? I'm going to double check with
01:21:25 --> 01:21:32 everybody, but I think it's a good idea there. Yeah. I mean, it's fine with me.
01:21:32 --> 01:21:36 Sure. So you follow the sign towards the city records. At one point,
01:21:36 --> 01:21:39 it branches off, and the city records are apparently kind of in the front left
01:21:39 --> 01:21:43 end of the building, whereas the electric controls are in the back left part of the building.
01:21:43 --> 01:21:48 So that kind of diverges your path. And somebody give me an awareness,
01:21:48 --> 01:21:50 whoever's taking the lead. I will.
01:21:51 --> 01:21:54 I mean, I have the largest weapon. I should be in the lead.
01:21:55 --> 01:22:00 And that is a 12 over 7. And what's the natural on those?
01:22:01 --> 01:22:04 Natural black 10 natural red
01:22:04 --> 01:22:07 seven all right no that is a success uh
01:22:07 --> 01:22:10 that sounds that sounds great you actually hear some
01:22:10 --> 01:22:17 noise from up ahead it's not you know clacking it's not the sound of of wind
01:22:17 --> 01:22:21 being sucked into you know dead lungs that you occasionally hear not quite moans
01:22:21 --> 01:22:25 you know because casually don't really moan but it sounds like is that the sound
01:22:25 --> 01:22:27 of a filing cabinet being open and closed?
01:22:27 --> 01:22:31 Is that the sound of papers being shuffled?
01:22:31 --> 01:22:33 It's kind of, it's, it's louder than you'd expect it to be, but you know,
01:22:33 --> 01:22:37 it's so quiet in here. That may be why. What would y'all like to do?
01:22:37 --> 01:22:41 You're about halfway between the split and the records area.
01:22:42 --> 01:22:48 Gesture towards the records area, point to my ears and then make the.
01:22:50 --> 01:22:53 The gesture that used to be on the phone books of hand doing a walking,
01:22:53 --> 01:22:56 like, I hear movement. There's something up there.
01:22:57 --> 01:23:04 Snips holds up the silence pistol and, like, may I hand gesture?
01:23:05 --> 01:23:09 Nod. I'm going to walk along with Snips, shoulder the rifle,
01:23:09 --> 01:23:13 and I'm just going to reach into my boot and pull out the big-ass combat knife
01:23:13 --> 01:23:14 that's been there the whole time.
01:23:15 --> 01:23:19 All right. What are you doing there, Noel? Looking back and forth between the
01:23:19 --> 01:23:21 two of them, confused about all the hand signals.
01:23:22 --> 01:23:27 And then when I see the knife come out and the pistol, I will also pull out
01:23:27 --> 01:23:32 a knife that is nowhere near as impressive as what DACA's is.
01:23:32 --> 01:23:34 And I will follow behind them.
01:23:34 --> 01:23:38 And are you bringing your dronkey as well, or is that kind of stopped in the
01:23:38 --> 01:23:41 hallway? I will leave it at the junction that we're at right now.
01:23:41 --> 01:23:46 All right. That sounds good. Whoever is moving forward, give me a stealth,
01:23:46 --> 01:23:49 it sounds like. I got to burn a ration for that, don't I?
01:23:50 --> 01:23:54 Yeah. Do you want one from each of us? Or do you want just one for everyone?
01:23:55 --> 01:23:58 Yeah, yeah. No, I kind of want one from each of you. Oh, yeah.
01:24:00 --> 01:24:05 I do have a pretty, I mean, decent stealth on this.
01:24:05 --> 01:24:10 So, unmodified, it's red 12, black 11.
01:24:10 --> 01:24:13 But with stealth, I got a plus three on stealth as well.
01:24:14 --> 01:24:16 Well, that's a good success on your part. Mm-hmm.
01:24:17 --> 01:24:22 Black 16, red 6, three ranks. You are like the wind, yeah?
01:24:22 --> 01:24:27 I have no stealth skill at all, so I may just stand with my dronkey and let
01:24:27 --> 01:24:29 them go do what they're going to do.
01:24:30 --> 01:24:33 Sure, that sounds good. Yeah, no, you guys move down the hallway.
01:24:33 --> 01:24:36 You are the knight, not like the wind. The wind makes noise, I apologize.
01:24:37 --> 01:24:43 And as you approach the records area, the lights are fully on in this area,
01:24:43 --> 01:24:47 and there is an open doorway leading into the records area.
01:24:48 --> 01:24:52 And you still hear the noise of paper shuffling and, you know,
01:24:52 --> 01:24:55 drawers opening and closing and just the sounds of somebody being in there.
01:24:56 --> 01:25:01 Quietly push the door open? Is that easy? The door is already open.
01:25:01 --> 01:25:05 It's just, you're basically at the doorway.
01:25:06 --> 01:25:09 Okay i imagine you're looking in so looking
01:25:09 --> 01:25:13 in it is a huge room it
01:25:13 --> 01:25:16 has those kind of shelves that you that
01:25:16 --> 01:25:19 have the cranks on them so that they move over so
01:25:19 --> 01:25:21 you can get to one side of the shelf and you move them all over and you can to the
01:25:21 --> 01:25:24 other side of the shelf so you can fit a lot more paperwork in a small
01:25:24 --> 01:25:27 space there are desks there are work tables
01:25:27 --> 01:25:30 the area right around the door is is pretty
01:25:30 --> 01:25:33 much empty but since you were so quiet and
01:25:33 --> 01:25:36 since daca you know critted that that one there are
01:25:36 --> 01:25:40 people there are they look
01:25:40 --> 01:25:42 kind of like takers i guess i mean that's not really a thing it's
01:25:42 --> 01:25:46 just kind of new on the lifelines or new on ubic yeah no
01:25:46 --> 01:25:48 there are people there they're dressed like they've been you know out in the
01:25:48 --> 01:25:54 loss a little bit and they're sitting at tables they're opening up campus they're
01:25:54 --> 01:26:00 reading material they're loading papers and things and books and binders into
01:26:00 --> 01:26:04 bags they got readers on to one of them has readers on squinting at the
01:26:05 --> 01:26:07 small print on some of the city records.
01:26:08 --> 01:26:13 And they haven't noticed you. Tadalka? Yeah, that's a zero-sum game for me.
01:26:13 --> 01:26:15 We can just stealth back to the Dronki.
01:26:16 --> 01:26:20 Mm-hmm. That sounds like a good plan to me. All right. I imagine you fill Null
01:26:20 --> 01:26:23 in with what was going on down that way. Yeah.
01:26:24 --> 01:26:28 No, they beat us to it. I'm hoping that the reason that we lost power isn't
01:26:28 --> 01:26:32 because of something they did. How many were there? Brownie did, I notice.
01:26:32 --> 01:26:38 You saw three, although it was a big room, And there's a lot of shells and obstructed
01:26:38 --> 01:26:39 sight lines. So there could have been more.
01:26:40 --> 01:26:46 There was a young woman who is dressed kind of up in punk style and has some,
01:26:46 --> 01:26:47 some bright clothing on.
01:26:47 --> 01:26:50 There was an older gentleman just wearing, you know, regular clothes.
01:26:50 --> 01:26:51 He's one with the readers.
01:26:51 --> 01:26:57 And then there was another man kind of younger on the younger side also.
01:26:57 --> 01:26:59 And he was loading papers into a bag.
01:27:00 --> 01:27:02 I'm just saying guys, they're stealing our shit.
01:27:03 --> 01:27:05 Like I'm not one for being greedy.
01:27:06 --> 01:27:13 But like what they're in there getting is probably incredibly valuable to our group back at the hotel.
01:27:14 --> 01:27:22 You want to call back to the hotel and see if they want to pay us extra to deal with that.
01:27:22 --> 01:27:25 I mean, yeah, I can do that. Someone with Ubix could finish our chat.
01:27:25 --> 01:27:29 I got a laptop. Cause I've got my Ubix right here. I can do that.
01:27:30 --> 01:27:34 I mean, if you want to do the negotiating on that, you'd probably be far more
01:27:34 --> 01:27:35 convincing than I would ever be.
01:27:36 --> 01:27:40 So is that what you're doing you're calling calling back yeah let's do that real quick,
01:27:41 --> 01:27:46 uh go ahead and spend the charge and you managed to get a hold of the the head
01:27:46 --> 01:27:51 of the enclave because that's obviously who you'd be contacting and he it's
01:27:51 --> 01:27:55 just if you can hear noise and pandemonium going on in the background they are
01:27:55 --> 01:27:59 you know move that couch over block the window.
01:28:01 --> 01:28:02 Rattling bangs yeah,
01:28:03 --> 01:28:08 yells but no like screams of pain or anything and he just said is it done is
01:28:08 --> 01:28:12 the power when is the power going to be back on uh hopefully soon we're in the
01:28:12 --> 01:28:16 government building right now but we did encounter a group of people getting
01:28:16 --> 01:28:17 paperwork from the basement,
01:28:18 --> 01:28:25 is that important to you right now or the lobby lobby doors are about ready to to burst,
01:28:26 --> 01:28:30 paper what and he sounds kind of distracted and not like he's fully fully understanding
01:28:30 --> 01:28:34 and listening paper thieves there's paper thieves in the basement of the government
01:28:34 --> 01:28:40 building do we need to worry about paperwork we're about to get our faces eaten
01:28:40 --> 01:28:41 off and you're asking me about paper,
01:28:42 --> 01:28:46 that's what i thought we're gonna go turn the generators back on,
01:28:49 --> 01:28:56 yeah okay you heard the boss yeah don't care trying not to die expertly deflect it branny.
01:29:01 --> 01:29:04 All right so you say you're moving towards the electrical controls
01:29:04 --> 01:29:07 yes all right
01:29:07 --> 01:29:10 again it's a it's an office building with some some light industrial
01:29:10 --> 01:29:12 uh feel to it as well that kind of
01:29:12 --> 01:29:15 carpet that doesn't show stains and those kind of walls that are easy
01:29:15 --> 01:29:19 to wipe down as you proceed on towards the
01:29:19 --> 01:29:22 electrical control area it does get a little bit more industrial you
01:29:22 --> 01:29:28 know there's a little bit more exposed cinder block wall and concrete and you
01:29:28 --> 01:29:32 are presented with again another big locked door leading into the electrical
01:29:32 --> 01:29:37 area and the door is in fact closed and locked are the number pads well worn
01:29:37 --> 01:29:40 again no this one's pristine and clean.
01:29:42 --> 01:29:44 Looks like they care a little bit more in the government building than they
01:29:44 --> 01:29:50 do out in the maintenance area weird criminality to get to the door give me
01:29:50 --> 01:29:51 that beautiful criminality,
01:29:52 --> 01:29:57 double eights deep black eight red yeah the first thing you try is you know
01:29:57 --> 01:30:02 the stupidest thing it could possibly be which is just four zeros and man this
01:30:02 --> 01:30:04 thing must have been reset when lost when it lost power at some point because
01:30:04 --> 01:30:06 the door just pops on open nice,
01:30:07 --> 01:30:15 how could it be all zeros I don't understand but strangely enough it is so the door opens up it is,
01:30:15 --> 01:30:18 about what you'd expect a little again a little bit more
01:30:18 --> 01:30:22 industrial than the rest looking the rest of the building there's some heavy-duty transformers
01:30:22 --> 01:30:25 and equipment in here and off across
01:30:25 --> 01:30:28 kind of a large open area where there's some nice airspace around
01:30:28 --> 01:30:33 the electrical stuff but still underground is what looks like an office it's
01:30:33 --> 01:30:39 up a set of stairs across the the floor from where you're at snips gets her
01:30:39 --> 01:30:44 attention points it to the transformers kind of puts a you know puts a finger
01:30:44 --> 01:30:48 up to her mouth and goes they're more than meets the eye. Keep an eye on them.
01:30:49 --> 01:30:51 I think that's the thing that we need to get it going.
01:30:52 --> 01:30:53 Sorry, Brownie.
01:30:56 --> 01:31:00 I couldn't think of anything to say back to that. That was beautiful. Thank you.
01:31:00 --> 01:31:06 So you're saying that they might be deceptive? Like they might be trying to con us in some way?
01:31:07 --> 01:31:09 Good possibility. Wow, wow, wow, wow.
01:31:11 --> 01:31:17 This is the weirdest crossover game ever. So it looks like we need to go to the office.
01:31:17 --> 01:31:21 Much to your chagrin as you're saying that one of the Transformers does have
01:31:21 --> 01:31:24 a sticker on the side, but it's an Autobot sticker, not a Decepticon sticker.
01:31:24 --> 01:31:26 Like just somebody stuck a sticker there who worked here.
01:31:27 --> 01:31:29 I probably had a similar pun to you, but, you know,
01:31:31 --> 01:31:37 not exact. These are what GoBots. Or Beast Wars or whatever that was, yeah. Yeah.
01:31:39 --> 01:31:43 All right. Again, still just a big open room with equipment and an office across the way.
01:31:43 --> 01:31:48 I know that somewhere Aaron Carson's ears are tingling, and he is going to come
01:31:48 --> 01:31:51 crashing through the wall like the Kool-Aid man to tell us, no,
01:31:51 --> 01:31:55 one was a spinoff, one was a knockoff, there's a difference.
01:31:55 --> 01:31:58 But since he's not here, it's gonna say noah
01:31:58 --> 01:32:02 would you care to fix that electronics thing while
01:32:02 --> 01:32:04 we take a look in the office and see if there's anything up there that we need
01:32:04 --> 01:32:08 to deal with because i think that this is the room to turn the power on for
01:32:08 --> 01:32:15 the things right is it obvious the points that need repair or is it like everything
01:32:15 --> 01:32:19 looks identical and we need to figure out which what goes to where.
01:32:19 --> 01:32:23 As best as you can tell and however and people
01:32:23 --> 01:32:26 that know how this stuff actually works some of
01:32:26 --> 01:32:28 transformers are on let's say they're humming to show that they
01:32:28 --> 01:32:31 are functioning there are other ones that are off there's no
01:32:31 --> 01:32:34 indication on whether that's the right thing or
01:32:34 --> 01:32:37 the wrong thing or or any of that stuff is
01:32:37 --> 01:32:40 just a big room full of equipment it's not really immediately obvious
01:32:40 --> 01:32:43 they do all have serial numbers on the side like you
01:32:43 --> 01:32:49 know 0001-1524 and
01:32:49 --> 01:32:54 0001-1525 like they're they're clearly marked as to which one is which but it's
01:32:54 --> 01:33:00 not obvious just looking at them what's for what but they are well documented
01:33:00 --> 01:33:04 on on the sides of which one's which okay so yeah we need to all go to the office
01:33:04 --> 01:33:08 and figure out what's what and goes to where and how this is adjusted.
01:33:09 --> 01:33:14 Only one of us knew I had a contact that is an electrical engineer or something.
01:33:15 --> 01:33:19 I mean, you certainly could have a, like a, a contact that you could contact.
01:33:19 --> 01:33:20 It would cost you, of course, like it always does.
01:33:22 --> 01:33:25 I mean, that seems like the smartest thing for us, for me guys.
01:33:25 --> 01:33:30 What do you guys think? Let's go look at the office first and then we need to call an expert. Okay.
01:33:30 --> 01:33:34 All right. Approaching the office. It's one of those things where it's an office
01:33:34 --> 01:33:38 in the middle of a, like a factory or a workspace area where it's this small
01:33:38 --> 01:33:43 little box. There's a roof on top of it and, you know, equipment sitting on
01:33:43 --> 01:33:44 top of the roof on top of it.
01:33:44 --> 01:33:47 There are, in this case, some small windows looking out onto this area,
01:33:47 --> 01:33:51 but it's obviously kind of sequestered away to keep it clean from,
01:33:52 --> 01:33:53 you know, the actual work area outside.
01:33:54 --> 01:34:01 The door is open. Whoever wants to approach it first, please give me an awareness. I will.
01:34:02 --> 01:34:06 Oh, that is a pair of tens. All right.
01:34:07 --> 01:34:13 As you approach, you do hear what sounds like the sound of a casualty with some clacking.
01:34:13 --> 01:34:17 And it's coming from kind of the floor area around the corner.
01:34:17 --> 01:34:20 You're not in there yet, obviously, but it sounds like it's from down low.
01:34:21 --> 01:34:25 Pull the knife back out of the boot. And I'm going to stab it upon coming through the door.
01:34:26 --> 01:34:31 All right. Go ahead and give me a roll for that. And remember to mark rations, obviously.
01:34:32 --> 01:34:40 Okay. Black 16, red 6. Oh, no, yeah, you completely just pop it, pop it one in the dome.
01:34:40 --> 01:34:44 There was a casualty. It was on the ground. It was kind of tangled up in an
01:34:44 --> 01:34:45 office chair that had fallen over.
01:34:45 --> 01:34:49 It has a lanyard on it. It's dressed like, I mean, obviously filthy and light
01:34:49 --> 01:34:51 covered, but dressed like a city worker.
01:34:52 --> 01:34:55 Looks like he belongs here. Looks like he belongs here.
01:34:55 --> 01:34:59 And it's just kind of tied up in an office chair that it was obviously sitting
01:34:59 --> 01:35:01 in and fell over, fell over. Not tied up, but tangled up.
01:35:02 --> 01:35:04 And it's an office area. Yeah.
01:35:04 --> 01:35:11 There is a red stapler, and there is a bowl of very, very oxidized and nasty-smelling,
01:35:11 --> 01:35:18 what must have once been guacamole, and a bag of stale chips that are open, sitting on the desk.
01:35:18 --> 01:35:26 The guacamole does look like it's been spilled into the keyboard of the computer that's there.
01:35:26 --> 01:35:31 There are also some filing cabinets and a maintenance schedule written up on
01:35:31 --> 01:35:36 a whiteboard on the wall, that kind of thing. did the whole issue then at the
01:35:36 --> 01:35:38 enclave start over a stuck key on a keyboard.
01:35:41 --> 01:35:44 Maybe i mean i've heard of worse things
01:35:44 --> 01:35:47 it should be easy enough to fix just swap out
01:35:47 --> 01:35:51 the keyboard and then start it back up again okay so
01:35:51 --> 01:35:55 i would like to do i mean mechanics
01:35:55 --> 01:35:58 maybe or a research to figure
01:35:58 --> 01:36:01 out like obviously someone
01:36:01 --> 01:36:04 here is going to have a diagram of like which transformers feed
01:36:04 --> 01:36:07 for what and you know how the
01:36:07 --> 01:36:09 the power routing is routed all that
01:36:09 --> 01:36:13 information has got to be here somewhere so i'd
01:36:13 --> 01:36:16 like to identify the information that i
01:36:16 --> 01:36:19 need and then see if i can't figure
01:36:19 --> 01:36:22 out what the solution to the problem would be if you're looking
01:36:22 --> 01:36:25 around the room for that i would i would maybe
01:36:25 --> 01:36:28 ask for like a scavenge probably if you were trying
01:36:28 --> 01:36:31 to research on like uvic or something i would go to research.
01:36:31 --> 01:36:33 If you're trying to clean out
01:36:33 --> 01:36:36 the keyboard of the of the nasty rotten
01:36:36 --> 01:36:39 guacamole and get that working again so you can look it
01:36:39 --> 01:36:42 up in the computer that's the mechanics so three
01:36:42 --> 01:36:45 options for you i've got a first aid
01:36:45 --> 01:36:48 kit i can burn a charge at the first aid kit to have rubbing alcohol clean
01:36:48 --> 01:36:52 it i'm going to use my recession punk
01:36:52 --> 01:36:56 app on my laptop for
01:36:56 --> 01:36:59 myself plus two mechanics i think
01:36:59 --> 01:37:04 we'll probably need the computer one way or another oh i'm
01:37:04 --> 01:37:09 not gonna make it it is 17 adjusted a
01:37:09 --> 01:37:13 dueling 17s adjustment so it'll be how it goes to the market how do you go to
01:37:13 --> 01:37:18 the market yes yeah there's just this keyboard is is super nasty and it looks
01:37:18 --> 01:37:22 like the enter key is stuck down i'm not stuck down but like it's It's internally
01:37:22 --> 01:37:24 shorted because of the liquid from the guacamole.
01:37:26 --> 01:37:31 And this is just a terminal, right? It's not a graphical interface. It's a text space.
01:37:31 --> 01:37:34 And it's just constantly spamming the enter key.
01:37:34 --> 01:37:38 Enter, enter, enter, enter, enter into the command prompt. Oh, that's a problem.
01:37:39 --> 01:37:48 The irony of it being a GUI that is being messed up by a CLI is not escaping me.
01:37:48 --> 01:37:51 Or that the GUI is because of a GUI CLI.
01:37:52 --> 01:37:53 You know what I mean, Brownie.
01:37:55 --> 01:38:00 I just appreciate you. You got some goo-y in my text-based command prompt. Yes, agreed.
01:38:02 --> 01:38:06 Thank you. I feel safe. I picked it up. I picked it up, yeah.
01:38:07 --> 01:38:12 So, yeah, no, it's internally shorted. It looks like it may have even burned out.
01:38:12 --> 01:38:16 I don't know if you can fix this on the keyboard.
01:38:16 --> 01:38:20 And it's still spamming enter, enter, enter, enter, enter into the command prompt.
01:38:21 --> 01:38:28 Can we just pull the plug on the keyboard and see if that doesn't help rectify the situation?
01:38:29 --> 01:38:32 Yeah, no, you pull the plug on the keyboard and it is just, the command prompt
01:38:32 --> 01:38:35 is less angry. It doesn't have enter being spammed into it, but it's sitting there.
01:38:36 --> 01:38:42 Is there another keyboard in another office location here?
01:38:42 --> 01:38:45 I mean, not in the immediate area, maybe somewhere else in the building. Yep.
01:38:46 --> 01:38:49 We're going to have to get another one? or any other creative solutions to get
01:38:49 --> 01:38:54 input into a computer or looking through or the other options that were given
01:38:54 --> 01:38:55 when you came in the room.
01:38:55 --> 01:38:58 We already decided we didn't want to mess with the other people in there.
01:38:59 --> 01:39:06 So, how about some research? What was it? It was botanics to fix the computer.
01:39:07 --> 01:39:11 Oh, Scavenger was the one to get. Look, there's a nice easy way to fix this.
01:39:11 --> 01:39:15 I'm just going to say, don't worry, I'll be right back. I'm going to go to that
01:39:15 --> 01:39:17 other room where the guys are in there.
01:39:20 --> 01:39:24 And I'm just going to take one of those grenades, hold it up with the pin out,
01:39:25 --> 01:39:29 and have my hand on the lock thing.
01:39:30 --> 01:39:31 I'm coming in to negotiate.
01:39:33 --> 01:39:38 Look, I don't know you, you don't know me, but my friends will tell you that
01:39:38 --> 01:39:42 I absolutely will drop this if I have to. I don't want to hurt anybody.
01:39:43 --> 01:39:49 You don't impact my ratio. I just need that keyboard to fix an issue that is
01:39:49 --> 01:39:50 going on in the other room.
01:39:50 --> 01:39:55 So you give me the keyboard, I walk out, I put the pin back in this grenade,
01:39:55 --> 01:39:56 everybody leaves with their lives.
01:39:57 --> 01:40:00 You start shooting, I drop the grenade, and all hell breaks loose.
01:40:01 --> 01:40:04 They all look appropriately startled.
01:40:06 --> 01:40:11 And the regular, even though you stated what was going on, who the hell are
01:40:11 --> 01:40:16 you, what are you doing here? you know that's but well startled starts up with
01:40:16 --> 01:40:17 a little bit of fear and then of course because of their grenade,
01:40:19 --> 01:40:23 I'm Mr. Grenade. I told you what I'm here for. That keyboard.
01:40:24 --> 01:40:27 I mean, yeah, just take it. We're just here for the records.
01:40:27 --> 01:40:28 They need to be preserved.
01:40:29 --> 01:40:31 Yeah. Take it. Take it. Get out of here. Leave.
01:40:32 --> 01:40:36 Thank you. Pleasure doing business. Walk out, pin in, walk back to the other
01:40:36 --> 01:40:38 room. Here's your keyboard.
01:40:39 --> 01:40:43 And you, of course, hear excited chatter. Excited is the word for it.
01:40:43 --> 01:40:45 Chatter from the room as you're walking away.
01:40:46 --> 01:40:49 Can i do the scavenge check to find information in
01:40:49 --> 01:40:53 the room yeah please black 12 red
01:40:53 --> 01:41:00 11 and then scavenging is plus three so yeah no that's a success you find the
01:41:00 --> 01:41:05 on the on the wall on the whiteboard there's maintenance logs and it actually
01:41:05 --> 01:41:08 has spelled out you know quadrants of the city and it has some of the serial
01:41:08 --> 01:41:11 numbers for the transformers outside that service those areas.
01:41:13 --> 01:41:16 The maintenance is up to date but you know at least you have kind of a guide
01:41:16 --> 01:41:21 on which transformer you know sends power to which part of the city and again
01:41:21 --> 01:41:24 i apologize to people that actually know about electronics let's just assume
01:41:24 --> 01:41:26 it works this way this is like a video game kind of,
01:41:27 --> 01:41:30 and you also find a a three-ring binder
01:41:30 --> 01:41:34 with some schematics like power
01:41:34 --> 01:41:36 dread layouts and stuff it's just basically like the manual
01:41:36 --> 01:41:39 that that sits there that has all the information that no one ever ever looks
01:41:39 --> 01:41:42 at right is it ratchet i feel like
01:41:42 --> 01:41:48 it's ratchet i don't get the reference but that's fine uh yeah so you find that
01:41:48 --> 01:41:52 the one that services the south side of town are there they're a bank of them
01:41:52 --> 01:41:56 obviously that service the south side of town and those are the ones that looks
01:41:56 --> 01:42:01 like they got turned off but you have the serial numbers for them they're the 0002,
01:42:02 --> 01:42:05 transformers as opposed to the 0001 transformers which service the northern
01:42:05 --> 01:42:11 part of town okay So I guess let's see if we can get some We'll get it done
01:42:11 --> 01:42:16 when we get the Keyboard Good lord, I was having trouble with that The keyboard back.
01:42:17 --> 01:42:22 Sure, do anything before DACA makes it back with the keyboard snips Is there
01:42:22 --> 01:42:28 any documentation We can find on changing the lock On the door So nobody else
01:42:28 --> 01:42:30 can just go Zero, zero, zero and walk in,
01:42:31 --> 01:42:38 That would be in Security admin, that's the very building but i mean maybe but not in this room yeah,
01:42:39 --> 01:42:45 Well, scavenged that dead body for bounty. There you go. What do you got?
01:42:46 --> 01:42:48 All right. Let's see. I am going to row.
01:42:49 --> 01:42:57 Oh, Lord. Nope. It was a red 20 black. It's like nine. So it didn't have anything.
01:42:57 --> 01:43:02 Man, that guacamole gets everywhere. It completely ruined his official city
01:43:02 --> 01:43:04 name badge. It's not readable anymore.
01:43:04 --> 01:43:08 All the ink just the acid in the guacamole you just kind of,
01:43:08 --> 01:43:12 you know, made the paper all run. You can't tell what's going on anymore. Gone.
01:43:13 --> 01:43:18 And low, DACA appears with a keyboard. So plug the keyboard in and see how we
01:43:18 --> 01:43:20 can get them on the computer system.
01:43:20 --> 01:43:23 Sure, yeah, no, it's a command prompt. There is a help.
01:43:24 --> 01:43:28 Commands like there is in all video games and systems that want to help you.
01:43:28 --> 01:43:32 You can get status checks, and there are some other controls,
01:43:32 --> 01:43:36 you know, divert power here, divert power there, whatever makes sense,
01:43:37 --> 01:43:40 obviously. like saying you wanted just some information you're looking at the
01:43:40 --> 01:43:42 status check. Is that right?
01:43:44 --> 01:43:48 Yep, no, it shows, it's a monochrome screen, so there's no color or anything,
01:43:48 --> 01:43:54 but it shows all the 001 transformers as online and functioning properly.
01:43:54 --> 01:44:01 It shows the 002 as command fault, emergency shutdown initiated from terminal,
01:44:02 --> 01:44:05 require manual restart, what it says in the status area.
01:44:06 --> 01:44:09 Okay, so I'm going to go back to the book that nobody ever uses,
01:44:09 --> 01:44:13 Three Ring Binder, and look at the manual restart procedures.
01:44:14 --> 01:44:17 Yeah no it looks totally doable it involves
01:44:17 --> 01:44:20 opening up the side of the panel being very careful
01:44:20 --> 01:44:23 not to touch anything twisting this knob
01:44:23 --> 01:44:26 this direction and throwing this particular switch
01:44:26 --> 01:44:30 that looks like it's basically a big breaker you know like like a breaker in
01:44:30 --> 01:44:34 your house but larger inside of the trans the transformer inside of the maintenance
01:44:34 --> 01:44:39 hatch on it and it's that that fault is active for like the whole series of
01:44:39 --> 01:44:44 0002 right yeah it's like somebody entered an emergency the shutdown command,
01:44:45 --> 01:44:48 and they went offline, and they surged,
01:44:48 --> 01:44:50 and they require manual breaker flips.
01:44:52 --> 01:44:55 I will go through the manual breaker flips and follow that procedure for all
01:44:55 --> 01:44:59 of them, but I don't want to actually turn them on quite yet.
01:45:00 --> 01:45:03 You want to twizzle the wutzits, but not actually throw the lever. Got it.
01:45:04 --> 01:45:08 Yeah, you can twizzle those wutzits. Go ahead and give me a mechanics on that.
01:45:09 --> 01:45:13 15 on the black, 9 on the red, and I've got a plus.
01:45:15 --> 01:45:20 Three mechanics that put you at a eight eight nineteen,
01:45:21 --> 01:45:25 which unfortunately is a failure the wetsuits are resisting being twizzled oh
01:45:25 --> 01:45:31 no you also got you got wheel you've got wheel you've got wheel you can also
01:45:31 --> 01:45:35 push it you can also succeed at a cost oh let's succeed at a cost,
01:45:35 --> 01:45:42 okay give me a d4 actually i have a d4 what you do ray one.
01:45:45 --> 01:45:49 One stun in your dominant arm. Ew, ow.
01:45:50 --> 01:45:53 Got a little zappy. The circuit is back together. Holy crap.
01:45:54 --> 01:45:58 I'm awake. I'm awake. There's no more hair on my arm.
01:45:58 --> 01:46:02 Maybe. Yeah, so the what's-its have been successfully twizzled.
01:46:02 --> 01:46:03 You're a little tingly. Yeah.
01:46:04 --> 01:46:10 Was there any indication of what set off the emergency shutdown restart thing
01:46:10 --> 01:46:12 or whatever that triggered all these?
01:46:13 --> 01:46:15 According to the logs it was a command entered in the terminal.
01:46:17 --> 01:46:22 Okay so somebody was in here very recently and did that i mean you did find
01:46:22 --> 01:46:25 somebody in there a certain x somebody,
01:46:26 --> 01:46:31 right but like it wouldn't have been like someone that's half rotted their guacamole already,
01:46:32 --> 01:46:36 because we haven't been out of power for that long hard
01:46:36 --> 01:46:39 to say who's to say yeah well i guess my
01:46:39 --> 01:46:41 question is was it was it possible that it
01:46:41 --> 01:46:44 was this guy that did it and it just took a
01:46:44 --> 01:46:48 couple days or weeks or whatever for it
01:46:48 --> 01:46:52 to all like fail or is
01:46:52 --> 01:46:55 it like this just happened because we just went out
01:46:55 --> 01:46:58 of power you know a few hours ago according to
01:46:58 --> 01:47:01 the log the shutdown command does appear to be from
01:47:01 --> 01:47:04 that time but again you don't
01:47:04 --> 01:47:08 know it could have been delivered it could have it accidental it could have been the guacamole it
01:47:08 --> 01:47:12 could have been the casualty that was sitting in the chair until it face planted
01:47:12 --> 01:47:16 on the keyboard and fell over lots of options okay but there was a casualty
01:47:16 --> 01:47:20 right where it would have nipped your ankles in there you know had you had you
01:47:20 --> 01:47:25 been in there so just you know you don't know what happened but there's there's lots of options,
01:47:25 --> 01:47:33 is there a way to restore power where we want it to go but to excise out the
01:47:33 --> 01:47:38 part where the randians were over at the uh macy's building.
01:47:39 --> 01:47:49 Yeah, yeah, actually, that would be 0001-0012 is the transformer that controls
01:47:49 --> 01:47:51 that kind of like a four block radius around that Macy's.
01:47:51 --> 01:48:00 Yeah, I would like to turn off that 001 series.
01:48:00 --> 01:48:07 I'll leave the other ones open and functional and then restore all the 002s.
01:48:07 --> 01:48:10 Great are you are you setting that down through some manual means
01:48:10 --> 01:48:14 are you doing it with a terminal command what are you planning i would
01:48:14 --> 01:48:17 like to do that with a manual means in such a
01:48:17 --> 01:48:20 way that it like doesn't okay so
01:48:20 --> 01:48:27 a lot of times uh something big electrical wise like this will have like big
01:48:27 --> 01:48:33 fuses that are essentially their switches you know like like a six or eight
01:48:33 --> 01:48:38 to ten inch long and like enter two in diameter kind of big fuse thing.
01:48:38 --> 01:48:44 So like I'd like to like pull those where it's not, it incompletes the circuit,
01:48:44 --> 01:48:47 but it doesn't like damage anything. Right. So it could be fixed.
01:48:48 --> 01:48:51 Yeah. You think you can do that if you manually throw that lever that you had
01:48:51 --> 01:48:55 to throw in the other ones, that's the breaker. And then you'd have to reverse
01:48:55 --> 01:49:00 twizzle the what's it out of the way to expose the fuse. And then you can take it out.
01:49:00 --> 01:49:06 So turn on the zero zero twos. And I'm going to go do that specifically to the
01:49:06 --> 01:49:08 one that covers the Macy's in the, in the one series.
01:49:09 --> 01:49:13 Okay, yeah, that one is on and humming. Sorry, does the system look like it
01:49:13 --> 01:49:16 would function if the terminal was turned off?
01:49:17 --> 01:49:21 Like you would just keep wherever it was at and it wouldn't do anything different?
01:49:22 --> 01:49:24 I mean, you could put the Guacaboli keyboard back, but yeah,
01:49:24 --> 01:49:27 no, it just seems like this is a way to do it.
01:49:28 --> 01:49:31 Yes, it just seems like it would continue functioning like the terminal is just
01:49:31 --> 01:49:35 a connection to the mainframe, not the actual mainframe, if that makes sense.
01:49:35 --> 01:49:38 It's just a dummy terminal that's meant to access the text system
01:49:38 --> 01:49:40 that then controls the things so yeah i want to
01:49:40 --> 01:49:43 do all that all right so that'll be
01:49:43 --> 01:49:46 just two mechanics rolls one to turn on
01:49:46 --> 01:49:53 the zero zero zero two's and one to turn off the buzzing uh humming on zero
01:49:53 --> 01:50:01 zero zero one dash what was it zero zero zero one two four six yeah it's the
01:50:01 --> 01:50:04 right one you know what to do even in the numbering escape us.
01:50:05 --> 01:50:11 I will burn some more charges on my laptop I'm going to give myself a plus 2
01:50:11 --> 01:50:18 mechanics for both of those rolls so my total bonus will be 5 15 black 20 on the.
01:50:19 --> 01:50:25 Red so that will be 20 and 20 is this the natural rolls it's 15 20 natural before
01:50:25 --> 01:50:32 bonuses yeah 15 black 20 red are the natural modified to 20 20 uh is that on
01:50:32 --> 01:50:37 the turning on or on the turning off the turning on because i want to do that first,
01:50:37 --> 01:50:40 yeah so as it's a failure everything it
01:50:40 --> 01:50:43 seems to be going well you finish puzzling that
01:50:43 --> 01:50:47 last what's it a little bit more and you throw the breaker and
01:50:47 --> 01:50:50 it makes a horrifying zap sound and
01:50:50 --> 01:50:56 breakers back off that was it wasn't quite properly twisted so i want to like
01:50:56 --> 01:51:01 start the procedure back at square one and make sure that i properly twizzled
01:51:01 --> 01:51:06 the what's it's remember the charges you've used already yeah and then we're
01:51:06 --> 01:51:07 gonna do it one more time here,
01:51:08 --> 01:51:12 toggle the what's it's twizzled the who's it's uh 13
01:51:12 --> 01:51:15 black and a one on the red uh so
01:51:15 --> 01:51:18 they already a success into one this
01:51:18 --> 01:51:21 time the what's it is twizzled just a little bit to the left and
01:51:21 --> 01:51:24 the breaker stays on there is
01:51:24 --> 01:51:30 a power-up sound that may not happen in real life that it does here and then
01:51:30 --> 01:51:34 a little bit of a sparking and then the buzzing hums to a steady state and the
01:51:34 --> 01:51:42 zero zero zero twos all turn on right then the turning off of the other one black six.
01:51:43 --> 01:51:51 Red 14 with the plus 5 makes it black 11 red 14 to the vagaries of red rock
01:51:51 --> 01:51:53 d20 that is also a success.
01:51:54 --> 01:52:00 There is the same sort of booming zapping sound as you flip it off as when the
01:52:00 --> 01:52:03 other one flipped off by accident earlier the what's it's twizzled easily out
01:52:03 --> 01:52:08 of the way exposing the fuse and the fuse pops out into your hand it is in fact big hmm,
01:52:09 --> 01:52:14 It's like a rod of copper in your hand. Now, you said there was like all sorts
01:52:14 --> 01:52:18 of equipment in and around here. Yeah.
01:52:19 --> 01:52:25 I would really like to secure this place in a far more significant fashion than what it was.
01:52:26 --> 01:52:32 Would it be possible for me to override the security lock?
01:52:33 --> 01:52:37 Like, can I hook it up to my laptop and do something like that?
01:52:37 --> 01:52:42 Or would it need to be more like, you know what I would like to do?
01:52:43 --> 01:52:49 See if I could get like stuff, the raw materials needed to like make a manual
01:52:49 --> 01:52:54 locking system that I could put a padlock on or something like that to secure
01:52:54 --> 01:52:56 it and have the key for it.
01:52:57 --> 01:53:00 I would say that if you wanted to do that, it would just be the rest of the
01:53:00 --> 01:53:04 charges off your mechanics kit to basically empty it out, have the hasp,
01:53:04 --> 01:53:09 have the lock, and just basically, you know, use up your mechanics kit for this
01:53:09 --> 01:53:10 until you refresh it, obviously.
01:53:11 --> 01:53:14 And you could physically lock the outer door, based on that.
01:53:15 --> 01:53:19 Yeah, so I would like to do that to keep it where, like, the people that were
01:53:19 --> 01:53:23 in the other part of the building can't get in there, or if the Randians try
01:53:23 --> 01:53:27 to send somebody, they can't get in there without having to come to us for, you know,
01:53:29 --> 01:53:30 paying their toll for the,
01:53:32 --> 01:53:36 entry. Understood. Yeah, so that's what I would do.
01:53:36 --> 01:53:40 Spin the rest of my chargers and call that Dunskies. Call that locked up, yeah.
01:53:41 --> 01:53:46 Meanwhile, I'm going to tap the Ubix and call back to the Enclave and say, turn it on!
01:53:47 --> 01:53:52 You hear, even in the basement, once you call and turn it on, the.
01:53:56 --> 01:54:01 Of the hurricane sirens that are the ones that you're used to hearing occasionally
01:54:01 --> 01:54:06 go off, and yeah you affected the weather patterns and basically put an umbrella
01:54:06 --> 01:54:08 over the hotel we did it guys,
01:54:10 --> 01:54:14 You did do it. I do need one more d20 and call higher low. Am I doing this one or somebody else?
01:54:15 --> 01:54:19 Sure. Let's do, let's have DACA do it. Okay.
01:54:20 --> 01:54:24 I think I'm going to go low. Oh, nine.
01:54:27 --> 01:54:31 That's still low. Yeah, no, you're good. You completed your job.
01:54:31 --> 01:54:33 You're in the government building. Nothing is wrong.
01:54:34 --> 01:54:37 And you've cleared a fairly good path to get back to the enclave.
01:54:37 --> 01:54:39 So there's not even any kind of complications on the way back.
01:54:40 --> 01:54:44 Again because like what was said earlier from adam there's only one more game of this,
01:54:44 --> 01:54:48 you are paid whatever you feel is appropriate for this
01:54:48 --> 01:54:55 flag or for this job well thank you very much i've retired i said appropriate
01:54:55 --> 01:55:07 not uh exorbitant yeah well yeah all right that was uh that was the repairing of the electrical grid.
01:55:07 --> 01:55:12 Well, I really think Red Market's D20 is the way that the creator intentionally
01:55:12 --> 01:55:13 meant for the game to be played.
01:55:14 --> 01:55:17 I don't know why he went with the other dice mechanic, but I really feel like
01:55:17 --> 01:55:21 this is Red Market's when it's firing on all six cylinders.
01:55:21 --> 01:55:24 On all D20 cylinders, yes.
01:55:26 --> 01:55:33 It was a good game. Your use of the mundane to make it terrifying,
01:55:33 --> 01:55:38 like you know everybody's walking around and shopping and they're dead as usual
01:55:38 --> 01:55:44 and that never unnerving gas state i mean open convenience store in a mall with lights on it,
01:55:45 --> 01:55:49 unnerving so i don't think you give yourself enough credit you're awesome market
01:55:49 --> 01:55:53 very much oh yes thank the d20 tables.
01:55:56 --> 01:56:02 Also can i laugh about the fact that the one time that we go absolutely loud
01:56:02 --> 01:56:05 i think that we were more of a danger to ourselves than some of the legs were.
01:56:06 --> 01:56:09 Oh yeah. And I apologize for nothing.
01:56:11 --> 01:56:14 Not entirely unexpected based on the loadout, but definitely appreciated.
01:56:16 --> 01:56:21 Well, nothing else to be said. I want to thank you all for playing,
01:56:21 --> 01:56:23 and thank all of our listeners for listening.
01:56:24 --> 01:56:26 This has been Roadpoint Exchange.
01:56:26 --> 01:56:28 We're part of the Critter Night Podcast Network.
01:56:28 --> 01:56:31 Thank you very much. See you on the internet.
01:56:33 --> 01:56:39 All in thin and silently stalking till the girl with emphysema was coughing
01:56:39 --> 01:56:43 and when she's coughing, the casualties walk and go.
01:56:45 --> 01:56:46 I'm keeping that.
