We are continuing our Secret World campaign of the Monster Slayers League, north of the Byz. We are still in the same scenario that we've had for like the last three, I think, sessions. This is now our fourth session into this- fourth part into this session.

[00:01:23] And, um, yeah. We still haven't leveled? No. And there may be some issues, some consequences by the end of this game. So... Wow. But, yeah, last we left off, the boys had a harrowing conflict with a local revenant of Virginia, the Bunny Man.

[00:01:46] An axe-wielding psychopath, um, with supernatural abilities, who lived under a tunnel, or lived under a, uh, a train bridge. And, uh, upon- A pineapple under the sea. Yep. I'm trying to, like, add, like, Bunny Man into the Spongebob Squarepants lyrics, but it's not working. Fair. Um... And, uh, you know, after a couple of near deaths...

[00:02:15] Yeah, it was a pretty harrowing fight. Yeah. I was bleeding for a lot of them. I'm learning how to use legendary actions. Mm-hmm. Yeah, yeah. And how to, uh, take one of our combatants out of a reliable fight. Yeah. Yeah, one of you guys discovered... Oh, yeah, one of you guys came back, uh, last session, uh, from Limbo, um, with a peculiar mark on him, from a cat. And, uh... It's the mark of the beast. Yeah, yeah. Are you the Antichrist?

[00:02:46] That's... That's season two. Mm-hmm. We discovered that, uh, he's actually, uh, the, the, the Antichrist from, uh, that biblical conspiracy. He's neutral. Hmm? He's a, he's a were-cat. So, he's, he's just neutral. He's not, uh, not evil. Or he just wants to watch the world burn. As many cats do. Checks out. Yep. But, but yeah, so now we have a were-cat. Uh, a, a semi-uncontrollable were-cat.

[00:03:16] Yeah. You don't have to constantly make, uh, concentration checks to, uh, not push the mug off the counter. Yeah. All the time. Um, so, actually, for your character merit, um, if you roll in that 20, or you're rolling at one, you need to roll a will save. Even though I'm a huge success? Yes. Wow. Wow. Because his adrenaline kicks, is kicking in from, from, uh, from like the excitement of the battle.

[00:03:45] And that's what will trigger the were-catism. All right. All right. Hmm. I learned that from, uh, from a, uh, thing that was like, how to make lycanthropes in, uh, in D&D better and scarier. And more like, more like interesting than just like, oh, you can get it cured by like, cure, like curse or remove curse or whatever. Hmm. I'm doing away with that. I'm tweaking that in that, you could remove it, but it's gonna take a little bit more than just like a remove curse, like a simple remove curse spell. That's fair.

[00:04:15] Why don't we just cut off the hand? I might be able to make you a, uh, a magic talisman to give you advantage on those checks. That means it's a choker. It's a bell on it? Yeah. It's got a name on it. I was gonna say that it was an earring with a bell, but yeah, I like that better. Yeah. Um, but yeah, so, uh, but yeah, last we left off, uh, um, If it's a bell, wouldn't he take negatives on all of the stealth rolls? Oh, cause he's like, don't. He already sucks at stealth anyway. Yeah, but it'd be way worse.

[00:04:46] Yeah. He's got a little bit of cotton. He like stuffs it in for missions. Um, but yeah, so, um, you guys defeated the, the buddy man, got the golden ticket. And, uh, just as you guys were licking your wounds and stuff and that and looking at inspecting this golden ticket, y'all heard a train, um, coming, uh, coming down the, uh, the tracks.

[00:05:08] And as it passed, you all equally, um, passed through realities and onto a spectral train. Uh, I wanted a chocolate factory. Uh, known as, uh, and as, as you see like on, um, uh, on various plaques, like on the sides, on the tops of doors and stuff on the train. It's the Croatoan 1589. And we were healed and my spells were replenished.

[00:05:34] Yes. Um, I am gonna retcon one thing from the end of last session. Um, because I forgot to, because it was in my notes and I just, I forgot in the heat of the moment. Um, so, uh, the person who's, who succeeded their test during the, their will save during the transitionary, uh, thing. I believe that was Aaron. I think that was me. Um, you end up in the nice, uh, like, um, uh, uh, you end up in the nice sleeper car, basically. Okay.

[00:06:01] Um, that's like all nice and mahogany and furnished with like several bunks and such. The two that failed, the, uh, the wisdom saves, um, you guys do, uh, you guys pass. Guys are in the sleeping with the fishes car. Um, you guys actually wake up like, groggy, but your, your, your wounds are healed and your, your, your stat, your stats, your status is, is back to normal. We wake up in front of the train on the tracks. Yeah, or I was thinking like on the, like on the front of the train. Oh! No, uh, you wake up in the cargo car.

[00:06:32] Mm. Uh, so there is just like a ton of, uh, dusty old, um, luggage and, uh, like cobwebs. There's like a, a single light illuminating the entire cargo car, uh, at the, uh, like looks at the, near the, um, well, you can see like the one side that's like clear the exit, like out. But then like they're on the other side, they're like near where it says like a sleeper car above it and the Croton 1859.

[00:07:00] Um, there's that single light illuminating anything in this room. Oh, yeah. Otherwise it's just like shelves of, of old cargo and luggage and... You guys are in the loot car! Pretty much. Perhaps. Uh, were we healed and magicked up as well? Yeah, yeah, you guys woke up groggy, but you're, um, you're, you're, you're finally restored. Yeah. Whereas, uh, Jacob woke up in the sleeper car. Oh, it didn't even wake up.

[00:07:27] You just like, you blinked, uh, on your, uh, for, once you were on the street of the, uh, near the bunny man's tunnel. And then suddenly you're in the middle of the sleeper. Okay. So, um, yeah, I guess, uh, we'll, uh, we'll start with the, the two that have just woken up. Um, so. The hell happened? Yeah, you're like getting off the ground, you're all like grimy and dusty. Mm-hmm. Am I still a cat? No, you're, you're human again.

[00:07:57] No, I'm saying that in character. Oh, man. Am I still a cat? Yeah. No. Were you aware that you were a cat the whole time? Sort of. You could see through your eyes and like senses, but you couldn't control much. Yes, he was a, a were-cat. Ah. Boo-do-ch. Boo. Hey! I got a coin! [00:08:26] I still have the oddest compulsion to lick my own ass. Well, you could do that in your own spare time. For now we should find out where the hell we are and where our friend is. Like you definitely feel like you're moving. Uh, but yeah, you also hear some bottles rolling around and uh, you, you kind of try

[00:09:52] and source out the, like where that's coming from and you see, um, like down near like the back of the, of the car away from the light, like from the, the one light source aside from your dance lights, of course. Mm-hmm. Um, there is a, there looks to be a large like apothecary like bag or like a doctor's bag. Um, like kind of partially like tipped over and um, partially mushed against one of the

[00:10:17] uh, the, the legs of the uh, wrought iron uh, shelves. Okay. Um, so you can check that out if you wish. Yeah, go over and check it out. Okay. Um, yeah, you walk over there, uh, there's a couple bottles, some of them are smashed. Uh, but there's a, you can still hear some kind of rolling around elsewhere in the um, in the uh, in the car. The bag's open? The bag is open and there are some, there's a, there's one or two bottles in the, in the

[00:10:47] bag itself and uh, you pull it up and there's a, a tag on it. Uh, and the bag appears to be Petonius's potions. Um. Who's that? Uh, it appears to be uh, like a, a cake, some cakes in a layer of dust but like wipe it away and there's like, it's in gold filigree on the, uh, on the, the top of the bag. Mm-hmm. And you do have to detect magic, right? Yes.

[00:11:14] If I want to burn that and if I want the entire world to light up right now. Cause that's not an identified item. That's, to see if there's magic around me at all. Well, no, it makes each individual magic item glow to the degree of their magic aura. So if it is a powerful magic item, then it glows quite powerfully. Oh. If it is a weak ass magic item, then it glows very dimly. Mm-hmm.

[00:11:43] I mean, yes, the train would probably be glowing quite, quite brightly. Yeah. You might get a welding helmet. Yeah. But, I mean, in theory, if you had an item in your hand, you would still be able to see the dimmer light of this. Hmm. Cause you'd be able to block out all the bright lights with it, basically. Well, exactly. Or, I actually just watched something recently, so it's like you do that and it's like, nothing's glowing. Like, like the car, the train's itself not glowing.

[00:12:10] Except when you pan, when the, when the, uh, the audience pans out and you can still see, oh, the aura's like, like so huge that you're inside the aura and you can't see the glow. Yeah. Okay, but either way, um... And detect magic can be ritual cast. If I wanna hang out down here for 10 minutes. Which I probably don't, cause I need to find out what's going on. Regardless. So, um, the potions themselves, do they say anything on them or just for times?

[00:12:36] Um, you, you lift one of them up, um, the one intact one that's in the bag still. Hmm. And roll me a D8. Oh, there's only one intact? Yeah. Three. The ones, the ones in and around near the bag are broken, but there are some seemingly rolling around in this, in the darkness. Sorry how much? Three. Three. Uh, it appears to be, um, a potion of flying. Hmm. Cool. Convenient.

[00:13:06] I might pocket that. Uh, yeah, you can hear, uh, what seems to be full bottle, like jostling bottles elsewhere in the, uh, in the space. Um, do you guys wanna roll me another perception test? Sure. Six. Not 20. Okay.

[00:13:29] Um, yeah, uh, there, on top of the bottles rolling around, um, uh, John, you also hear the briefest sound of like fluttering and also like, little like clickety clack. More so than the train clicking clacky? Yeah, more so than the train. It's definitely like, there's something else in here with you guys. Or there's a couple

[00:13:54] of, or either something really quick, or there's a couple of little things in here with you guys that can either have wings, or perhaps like tap shoes, or hooves. Fluttering. Quick, do the grab shots. It's Shirley Temple. Oh god. Turn around, there's a little girl. Like with curly golden hair at the front of the door. Are you my mommy?

[00:14:25] Oh god. Oh god. Is she wearing a gas mask? Yes. Get out of there, you don't have the psychic paper. Tap shoes, golden curls, gas mask. Take a dark turn. But yeah, um, so what do you do with that information? Um, well while I'm like going over to pick up another potion, I'm gonna like quietly go

[00:14:54] over to Marcel and be like, I think someone else is here with us. I don't know what it is. Someone or something. So the car that we're in right now. Yeah. I'm assuming there's a door on either side. Oh, yeah. I wish I had the Everton. I'm gonna use the Everton's train layout for this. I mean, alright. Oh. Trains are pretty linear. That's right. It's gonna go one way or the other. I mean to look the interior though. Yeah.

[00:15:24] All I wanted to ask is, um, there's, okay, we're gonna be in a rectangular shaped area that's full of shit. Yeah. And a door on either side. Either of those doors have windows on them. Uh, the caboose, or not the caboose, like the one, the rear with no lights, um, does have some, uh, does have a window cause there's some ambient light, it's like a porthole, like a round, like window. Uh, and then there is the, the one that has a light at the end of the top, at the end

[00:15:51] of the, the cargo, um, cart. Uh, it does also have, it has a square window, like for an actual, like, regular door. Okay. Yeah. So the, the circular one looks like it's probably to the outside. Yeah. And the one that has the light in front of it is from the main part of the train. Yeah. Yeah. Like the, the back one at the rear one looks like it's like the one with the circular hole, or the circular window, it looks like it's more reinforced and like vaulted a bit. Okay. Yeah.

[00:16:18] Whereas the, uh, the, the one on the, like, that is probably facing the, the rest of the train is more of like, um, more accommodating. Okay. So more like appealing to like the aesthetic of the train itself. Mmhmm. Train jobs and red. Mmhmm. Yeah. Um, the, uh, the, and you have, you are actually, there's, um, so the walls on either side of the

[00:16:44] like the long ways, they're covered in, in, in luggage with like shelving, like a cast iron or with, um, metal shoving and such. Mmhmm. And then in the center, you get, there's actually an, uh, it's actually divided, but the middle is actually divided by a central, uh, shelving area that has a break in the middle of it. Okay. But. And where are we? You're, you're, um. Are we in the middle of the whole car or? You're closer to the end than to the front. Okay.

[00:17:12] Uh, but there is also luggage, like there's luggage all on the, uh, like filling the, the shelves. And there's also like, it's just kind of like either thrown down or fallen over from like the various jostling of the train and such. Okay. So it's a little bit of an off course to get, uh, to, to move about. Okay. Well, for now I'm going to send my, um, two of my dancing lights towards the back and two of them towards the front, not right at the front. So they're not going to be lighting up that window, but just to kind of quickly do

[00:17:40] a little scan to see if we scare anything or see anything. Okay. Um, I guess roll, roll an intimidation. Cause it's not like we were trying to be quiet or nothing. So whatever's here, if there is something here, it already knows we're here. Intimidation? Yeah. That's not very good. Seven. Um, you hear skittering, but then you start hearing like a childish, like giggling.

[00:18:11] That's not good. And like, and like scrap, like the like click a clack of, uh, of, uh, of hooves and, uh, and like the flopping of wings, uh, often to like the dark spots where your lights aren't like, where the lights are casting shadows. They're like, like you can see like the edges of something moving behind things. Hmm. But like they aren't, but they're, they're still giggling and like kind of, they're, it's all kind of, they feel like they give off a rather sinister vibe rather than like a fearful vibe. I know I rolled terribly.

[00:18:41] Can I extrapolate that to say like they're scared of light or are they just being playful? Uh, well intent. Intent? Hmm? Oh, Jack. Oh, Jack. Oh, no, um. Insight. That's what I'm saying. I was like, there's no intent, bro. I'm thinking of dungeon tent from Shadow of the... Oh, fuck. Six. Oh yeah, they're totally like, it's, it's uh, it's, they're afraid of you. Hell yeah.

[00:19:11] Alright. Um. Yeah, it's definitely like, yeah, it's definitely not like some kind of predatory. No, of course not. Why would that be? Okay. I humbly suggest that we vacate this car. I want to see what's inside first. See where the hell we are. I don't know if we're even on earth anymore. Cause who, I fell asleep and woke up. Didn't even have a popsicle stick in my mouth. But, um, so yes, I'm going to converge the lights on us and I'm going to, I'm going to tell them myself, I'm going to go check out the back.

[00:19:40] If you want to stay here or go towards the front, fine. You take those two lights with you. Are you going to gather up any potions on the way there? Yes. Okay. Cause I've heard a couple of them rolling around, right? Yeah, I hear probably about like three in the back and probably about like two near the front. Cause I'm not concerned right now, but I should be. I will go towards the front. Okay. So you guys are going to shut up the party. Yeah, shut up the party. Cut to, uh, the, uh, the nice, uh, sleeper car that you're in.

[00:20:09] So this is where, uh, you appear, um, uh, nice enough accommodations for long-term travel aboard a train. Uh, not the fanciest, but it's basically, it's, it's, it's a nice accommodations for like a, for an old, for a long trip. Okay. Um, there's mahock, it's, uh, like nice mahogany wood polish. Um, there's, uh, it's like red and, and orange, uh, cushioning and, uh, everything's in filigree brass. Okay.

[00:20:37] And the window outside, uh, I believe I said, I mentioned, I brought it up last session, but the window as you look outside, um, it does actually have one of those coverings. Like those are like paper coverings that you can pull up and you pull that up and you see, oh, you guys are traveling near Agartha. Like you're traveling in Agartha. Like, uh, the train appears to be traveling along various winding branches of the world tree. Um, and you look down into the, you're actually getting a new vista that you haven't seen before when you've been to Agartha.

[00:21:06] Uh, because you're seeing phantom landscapes like appearing and disappearing and changing, uh, as you, as the train goes along these tracks. Um, cause it looks like Egypt. Uh, one looks like the mountains that you remember from Transylvania. Uh, another, another site is a cityscape that looks like Tokyo. And, uh, and even another one is, uh, reminds me of the coastal line, the coastline of around Solomon Island.

[00:21:33] Um, and they, they shift and change, uh, sometimes even just like the blink of an eye. They, they suddenly just like change scenery. It's just this straight, and they, they're all, they're kind of among, like they're, they're phantom landscape below you in, uh, in and among the, uh, uh, the trunks of the tree. Okay. Okay. Uh, you don't recognize this location around Agartha.

[00:21:55] You don't, you can't see the hub, uh, or the, uh, like where, where everybody congregates normally using the, uh, animal wells and, and Agartha Springs. Okay. Is there anybody else in my sleeper car? Nope. So, just you. Is there any stuff in my sleeper car? Uh, your stuff. Interesting. Okay. Um, okay. Then I guess I will, uh, gather up my stuff, uh, open the door to my sleeper car, take a note of what car it is.

[00:22:25] Yeah. It's a number that you can, you can memorize. Okay. And, uh, I guess I'll go, um, start walking, try to find the drink car. Okay. Um, yeah. So you're heading down, uh, toward the, uh, like toward the, where the rest of the truck, the train is.

[00:22:43] Uh, and, uh, sure enough, as you, uh, approach the, uh, approach the, the door and, uh, like to the next, the exit to the next, uh, car, uh, there is, uh, looks like a, a man in a, or, uh, uh, uh, first he looks like a man. And then he's like, like, he's uncannily elegant and like inhumanly pretty. Um, but he's dressed as a, uh, a conductor.

[00:23:11] Um, and, uh, like complete with like the full suit and some of that and like a hat, uh, and like pointed ears. It's David Bowie. Kind of, yeah, he's got like a bit of a Jareth, uh, like mullet going behind him. Um, and, uh, he's standing there and, um, like just by the door and, and, and full on like regalia. And it's like, um, uh, hello, sir. Um, may I see your ticket? Oh, right. The, the golden snitch. Yep. Okay. Uh, I guess I'll pull a ticket.

[00:23:42] Wait, do I have the ticket? Yes, you do. Uh, actually that's, hang on. Who had the gold? Did he have the golden ticket? He picked it up off the ground. Did I? Yeah. Because I was still in, um, you were trying to help him or you were trying to help him? I was trying to help him. I think I was still in Griffin shape. Yes. Oh, yeah. And able to pick it up. Yes. So, yeah, you, you like go check it because like you don't have it. One of my friends has the ticket.

[00:24:12] Ah, well, I'm sorry, sir. You won't be able to, uh, progress, uh, onward until I can, uh, see some identification. I've expected him to just grab him by the collar and throw him in the window. Yeah. Very Indiana Jones. Yeah, he just has like this like very pleasant smile and, uh, just like, but confidently in front of the door so you can't try and get brushed past him. And it's like, uh, once you get your ticket, well, I'll be able to, uh, make sure everything's in order. Problem is I don't know where my friends are.

[00:24:41] They, they're probably on the train somewhere. Uh, he, he like looks off into the distance, like, like a hundred thousand yard stare. Oh, uh, I believe your friends may be in the, uh, the cargo, uh, cargo car. Okay. Well, if you want to go get them and bring them to the car that I'm in, which is that one. Uh, very good, sir.

[00:25:10] And he starts walking. But then as soon as he walks out, um, I have a little alcove that you just noticed. Um, another one steps. No, a, uh, a guardian, uh, uh, a, basically, uh, it's, well, it's not, it's like the guardians from MacArthur, but it's a little bit more streamlined and like human sized, but it's still rather imposing tall, uh, steampunk mechanical. I don't recall. Did I fight one? I'm pretty sure you just snuck past them. You snuck past the corrupted ones. Yeah.

[00:25:37] And it just kind of like shirks into spot, like out of the alcove it was in, uh, where it was stationed and just like stiffly becomes a statue blocking the way as the, uh, the man begins. This, this, this elven man begins walking down past you, uh, toward the cargo car at the back. Whistling. A drum to tune. Okay. I guess I'll go back to my car. Okay. Sit down. Whittle my thumbs. Mm. I guess.

[00:26:05] Unless I want to fight a, uh, shield guardian. Probably not. If there's anything like they were in third edition, God, no. Um, so back to the, uh, the cargo car. Mm-hmm. Uh, so you guys are, um, so, uh, let's start with, uh, with you there, Josh. John? I was at Josh. Who the hell's Josh? Yeah. Uh, so, uh, you were going to the back area? To?

[00:26:35] Yeah, because a couple of the bottles were rolling in that direction, so I was, could grab at least one more before I peek outside. Okay. Um, yeah, uh, roll a, uh, a d8 as you come, are you looking around for the, uh, for the pool? Actually, I'm going to also roll a... Six. Six? Okay, well hang on, because I... So, uh, you do find, uh, a bottle. Mm-hmm.

[00:27:05] Uh, this bottle appears to be a potion of greater healing. Ooh. It'll be a perception test. Okay. Yeah. You're like, ooh, nice. Pick it up, it explodes. You are now blind. Glass shirt's going to your eyes. Uh, no, you, uh, you pick that up.

[00:27:34] Thankfully it's healing, so it just heals me immediately. But you feel the whole, the excruciating pain. Yeah, yeah. But no, you pick it up, you put it away, and then you go to the, uh, the door. Mm-hmm. And, uh, you see through the porthole. Um, it, it's very peculiar. There are golden tracks that are fading away into the, into the wood of the, of the, of the Agartha branch behind the train.

[00:28:00] It appears to be making its own track as it travels along these winding, um, uh, winding and, uh, twisting branches of Agartha. The branches are sort of yellowish to begin with as well, aren't they? Yeah, they're like a light wood, but you can see like a glow to it. Like, like, they're like tracks of light. Mm-hmm. Um, and they're fading away as, uh, like several feet away from the train. And yet, you look out and it's like, oh, shit, we're in Agartha. But you don't recognize wherever you are in Agartha. It's like a wholly unknown location in Agartha. Mm-hmm.

[00:28:29] Um, which, I mean, Agartha is the center of the world in a pocket dimension, so it could be anywhere. Yeah, for sure. Okay. And, uh, that's when you get hit by from behind. Oh. Uh, or are you? Uh, is, um, uh, Nate, you're gonna hate ya. Yes. Okay. Um, you are struck with a... Smooth criminal? Yeah.

[00:28:58] Uh, and by smooth criminal, I mean some kind of demonic giggling, uh, little girl with, uh, with, uh, pointy, with curly, uh, golden hair and, uh, and, uh, horns poking at her, uh, of her, uh, forehead and, uh, flapping wings and sharp, uh, barbed teeth and, uh, hooves. Great. She's in a little sailor outfit and everything, and she's biting your neck. Okay. Ah! The lights! They do nothing!

[00:29:25] Uh, for a total of seven piercing damage, and the target must make a constitution save. You got it. Hell yeah. Six. Why are you just nibbling? I don't know what I'm saying. Oh shit, that's 3d6 for the next thing.

[00:29:53] Uh, so that's gonna be eight poison damage. Yeah. Jean failed, uh, I failed check. That's eight poison damage. Hell yeah. I hate it. It feels burning, like, through your veins. And, um, uh, you hear another one, uh, coming up from behind as well. Great. Um, so we cut away over to the front end of the, uh, of the, uh, yeah, the front end of the car. All right. Do I find any potions? Uh, roll a, uh, roll a d, a d6.
