In this episode of RPX Rollup, we're rolling up characters for Free League's Alien Evolved, the updated edition of their acclaimed sci-fi horror RPG. Set in the 2180s, Alien Evolved places players on the frontier of colonized space, where they'll navigate corporate greed, cosmic horror, and everyone's favorite xenomorphs. We try out both the traditional point-buy system and the extensive Life Path generator to see how each shapes character backstory and gameplay—discovering how tragedy, betrayal, and random dice rolls can create deeply invested characters before the game even begins. Because in space, no one can hear you scream—and time dilation is a bitch.
00:00:23 --> 00:00:26 Hello welcome to the real plane exchange and thank you
00:00:26 --> 00:00:29 for joining us for another episode of rpx roll
00:00:29 --> 00:00:35 up rpx roll up and
00:00:35 --> 00:00:41 today we're going to be looking at alien evolved which is the newest release
00:00:41 --> 00:00:46 from free league it's a i guess you could say an updated version of the original
00:00:46 --> 00:00:50 alien game that came out several years ago and we actually did a row up a bit
00:00:50 --> 00:00:54 maybe a year ago For those of you who have listened to us in the past,
00:00:54 --> 00:00:57 this is just going to kind of be building upon that.
00:00:57 --> 00:01:02 Free League was very gracious to give us a copy of Alien Evolved.
00:01:02 --> 00:01:06 And we've sat down and went through the character creation portion of it.
00:01:06 --> 00:01:08 And we're going to roll it up. Speaking of which.
00:01:09 --> 00:01:11 Hello. This is Review Cultist.
00:01:14 --> 00:01:18 Yeah. I started talking and didn't introduce you. It's fine.
00:01:19 --> 00:01:24 Yeah. I apologize for my voice. I'm battling a cold.
00:01:25 --> 00:01:31 But yes, it is I, Review Cultist, or Crazon, or Chris. Man of many names.
00:01:31 --> 00:01:34 Not really at the hotel. Yeah, exactly.
00:01:35 --> 00:01:42 The crawling cultist. But yeah, it's also pretty...
00:01:42 --> 00:01:47 I guess opportune or inappropriate that we're, we're covering this,
00:01:47 --> 00:01:52 an alien with an alien RPG with the Weyland-Yutani corporation because Predator
00:01:52 --> 00:01:53 Badlands just came out recently.
00:01:54 --> 00:01:58 So, and they, I mean, not spoilers, but not really spoilers.
00:01:58 --> 00:02:04 Cause like it's in the trailers, the Weyland-Yutani company is in that movie.
00:02:05 --> 00:02:12 The heart of all corporate greed. Yep. And I think part of the reason that a
00:02:12 --> 00:02:12 free league went into it,
00:02:12 --> 00:02:17 of this from everything that I've read and the stuff that I've seen in interviews
00:02:17 --> 00:02:23 is that this edition of Alien is just taking a lot of suggestions and things
00:02:23 --> 00:02:28 that they picked up on with several years of people playing the previous game.
00:02:28 --> 00:02:33 So they've kind of modified a few things here and there. And also they've updated
00:02:33 --> 00:02:39 the timeline because since actually it's a time of the Kickstarter Alien Romulus
00:02:39 --> 00:02:40 was coming out. It was in theater.
00:02:40 --> 00:02:44 So that all of that lore has been kind of incorporated into it.
00:02:45 --> 00:02:49 The good thing about it is if you already, like myself, have purchased several
00:02:49 --> 00:02:54 Alien properties, it converts over pretty easily to the new system.
00:02:54 --> 00:02:59 It's about 90% compatible. So you may have to, like, fudge something here or
00:02:59 --> 00:03:04 there, but you're not going to have to turn around and buy a whole new source books and all that.
00:03:04 --> 00:03:10 That's handy. I think one of the things that I like about Aliens in general,
00:03:11 --> 00:03:15 because the property owns a very special place in my heart anyway.
00:03:15 --> 00:03:20 I grew up watching Alien and Aliens, which is my favorite of all the films.
00:03:21 --> 00:03:28 And it's just this nice cosmic horror film that no matter how far we go,
00:03:28 --> 00:03:33 how advanced our technology is, there's, I mean, we're insignificant.
00:03:33 --> 00:03:35 Again, I guess you could say in the greater scheme of things,
00:03:35 --> 00:03:37 there are bigger and badder predators out there.
00:03:38 --> 00:03:41 In some cases, actual predators. No one can hear you scream.
00:03:43 --> 00:03:47 That damn vacuum. Yeah. Also, just quick aside.
00:03:48 --> 00:03:51 You can edit this out if you want. I just like quickly checked the alien species
00:03:51 --> 00:03:55 section and man, they really took, it's just another bug hunt to heart.
00:03:55 --> 00:04:02 Every alien species that is in the roster already created is just a giant bug.
00:04:04 --> 00:04:07 It's like that was the evolution like it's like it's like the crab evolution
00:04:07 --> 00:04:09 is like all aliens are bugs.
00:04:11 --> 00:04:14 Well i mean you always wanted to run hell divers
00:04:14 --> 00:04:21 as a tabletop role-playing game yeah also like i'm i will i would definitely
00:04:21 --> 00:04:27 look online to see if somebody has homebrewed a um a predator yatcha i pretty
00:04:27 --> 00:04:33 found it oh you found it nice all right we need we need to invite noah no one needs to be in that game,
00:04:34 --> 00:04:38 yeah we're just doing an alien game it's just alien colonial marines yeah it's
00:04:38 --> 00:04:45 like the uno card has been handed to you.
00:04:47 --> 00:04:51 I have been looking for that predator for a while so yeah i think you could
00:04:51 --> 00:04:56 definitely throw something in there with that i just i want my my colonial marshal
00:04:56 --> 00:04:58 to face off against a yatcha.
00:04:59 --> 00:05:01 Yeah i don't think marshals were a class in the
00:05:01 --> 00:05:07 previous game no i really like that they would be like and like given like how
00:05:07 --> 00:05:14 kind of like retro future and like again like colonial like marines and like
00:05:14 --> 00:05:20 the cultless space colonies and like the whole like space frontier kind of aspect of it.
00:05:20 --> 00:05:23 Like it's a wild west in space sort of aspect.
00:05:23 --> 00:05:29 Like there's got to, they had to have introduced some kind of like a sheriff-esque
00:05:29 --> 00:05:31 law enforcement in space. Yeah.
00:05:32 --> 00:05:38 And the book actually goes into that too. So kind of jumping in on our PDF here
00:05:38 --> 00:05:45 where page one says space is hell. It gives a nice little description of how
00:05:45 --> 00:05:46 space isn't your friend.
00:05:46 --> 00:05:48 It's not as empty as we'd like to think.
00:05:49 --> 00:05:56 It mentions rival governments, a code war with the powers that be on Earth and all.
00:05:56 --> 00:06:01 And then they talk about the frontier. So the frontier begins on the leading
00:06:01 --> 00:06:05 edge of the outer veil, crosses over into the outer rim of the known territories
00:06:05 --> 00:06:07 and stretches to deep space.
00:06:07 --> 00:06:11 The Outer Rim is extensively colonized, and the Colonial Navy operates there.
00:06:12 --> 00:06:14 Past the Outer Rim is anyone's guess.
00:06:14 --> 00:06:17 And that thrill of the unknown draws pioneers here.
00:06:18 --> 00:06:22 Settlers have likened themselves sometimes to the lawless frontier of the Old
00:06:22 --> 00:06:24 West of the United States.
00:06:25 --> 00:06:28 And, yep, kind of getting at that point there, there's these companies.
00:06:28 --> 00:06:33 I mean, these settlements spring up on other planets. Sometimes they've got backers.
00:06:33 --> 00:06:40 Sometimes they're kind of on their own. and they have to be their own law enforcement. The.
00:06:40 --> 00:06:47 Three powers that be in the world of the alien is the Three World Empire,
00:06:47 --> 00:06:53 which consists of what was the UK, Japan, and several other developing countries.
00:06:53 --> 00:06:58 The Wayland-Ukani Corporation itself is a result of the three empires, by the way.
00:06:58 --> 00:07:06 There is also, on page 12, the United Americas, which pretty much everything
00:07:06 --> 00:07:07 in the Western Hemisphere.
00:07:07 --> 00:07:17 Yeah canada america or the states yeah south america yeah and then the upp which
00:07:17 --> 00:07:25 is a socialist block of systems the union for progressive peoples yeah space rusher,
00:07:27 --> 00:07:28 It's Space Russia.
00:07:31 --> 00:07:37 And I know that in this kind of game, we pretty much look to play a bug hunt
00:07:37 --> 00:07:39 because that's kind of on the 10 with Alien.
00:07:40 --> 00:07:45 And just want to kind of, as we mentioned this here, you can draw these powers
00:07:45 --> 00:07:47 in, add political intrigue.
00:07:47 --> 00:07:52 There's corporate systems in place like Weyland-Yutani, Laszlo,
00:07:53 --> 00:07:58 Bionational, Sedgson, I think if I'm pronouncing that correct. or several things.
00:07:59 --> 00:08:04 Can I just bring something up here that I just saw here? So like on page 12
00:08:04 --> 00:08:07 under the Dominion Over the Stars, we have like the corporate dominance and
00:08:07 --> 00:08:09 then God at the ass end of space.
00:08:09 --> 00:08:12 And it's like talking about how like the colonies, like because of how rough
00:08:12 --> 00:08:17 the colonies are and such, after being promised like a utopian like existence,
00:08:17 --> 00:08:22 many people have turned to religion or at least like just to get by,
00:08:22 --> 00:08:29 like just to stem off like the existential horror of being at the edge of known space.
00:08:30 --> 00:08:35 And it just says, oh, while the traditional religions are practiced throughout
00:08:35 --> 00:08:40 the colonies, sects of apocalyptic millenarian fundamentalism has risen.
00:08:41 --> 00:08:45 In Iceland areas, recent years have seen the rise of fledgling organizations
00:08:45 --> 00:08:50 with questionable motives, such as the practitioners of the holy immolation
00:08:50 --> 00:08:55 and the cultish Church of Immaculate Incubation.
00:08:55 --> 00:08:59 Oh yeah that is that is a,
00:08:59 --> 00:09:02 front cult for like alien for
00:09:02 --> 00:09:05 xeno for xeno worshipers yeah and
00:09:05 --> 00:09:09 it's a at the top of page 13 it even mentions
00:09:09 --> 00:09:12 that that particular cult is inspired
00:09:12 --> 00:09:15 by a book that was a result of the film aliens 3
00:09:15 --> 00:09:19 so the lone prisoner robert morse
00:09:19 --> 00:09:22 wrote a book called space beast that
00:09:22 --> 00:09:24 was immediately you know censored and blocked but
00:09:24 --> 00:09:28 the copies went out okay so it's
00:09:28 --> 00:09:30 it's based off of like a book from like that was
00:09:30 --> 00:09:36 written by a character in the aliens 3 movie in like in lore and is kind of
00:09:36 --> 00:09:42 like a parody of l ron hubbard and scientology in that it like it's a book it's
00:09:42 --> 00:09:45 a religion that that was founded off of like the writings of like an individual
00:09:45 --> 00:09:49 of an author in the lore yeah now Now,
00:09:49 --> 00:09:53 I don't think Robert's intention was to start a religion.
00:09:53 --> 00:09:59 He just documented it, and a lot of people wrote it off as fiction and stuff like that.
00:09:59 --> 00:10:01 Yeah, just people flocked to it.
00:10:02 --> 00:10:06 It had unforeseen consequences. Yeah.
00:10:06 --> 00:10:11 I mean, it's really cool how they had that in there. The game itself is set
00:10:11 --> 00:10:17 in the 2180s, and there's an actually, if you look through the book here,
00:10:17 --> 00:10:18 there's a nice little timeline.
00:10:19 --> 00:10:22 Of yeah on pages 14 and
00:10:22 --> 00:10:25 15 that dates back to
00:10:25 --> 00:10:29 2023 which you would see the stuff from prometheus
00:10:29 --> 00:10:32 all the way up to i guess 2142
00:10:32 --> 00:10:40 is the renaissance one so that would have been the aliens okay romulus i believe
00:10:40 --> 00:10:44 is that am i correct it's a renaissance i think that one was during hang on
00:10:44 --> 00:10:48 let me just double check when did alien realm yes go ahead fact check me because
00:10:48 --> 00:10:49 this is vitally important.
00:10:51 --> 00:10:56 Yeah, 21 and 42. So. So, kind of a neat little timeline.
00:10:56 --> 00:11:02 And, you know, I could definitely see the importance of updating it from 2010 to 2180. You know?
00:11:03 --> 00:11:06 Yeah. So, here's what we're going to kind of do in this row up here.
00:11:06 --> 00:11:10 By the way, the book's beautiful. But it has as much of Free League's properties.
00:11:11 --> 00:11:13 Yeah, it's very, like, again, like,
00:11:13 --> 00:11:16 kind of retro. Again, retro sci-fi is going to be the word of the day.
00:11:16 --> 00:11:21 Because it is, like, Alien itself is, like, pretty. I know there were other
00:11:21 --> 00:11:23 things before, but this is sort of like,
00:11:23 --> 00:11:26 the this this movie that movie was
00:11:26 --> 00:11:29 definitely the stepping off point for like popularizing the
00:11:29 --> 00:11:33 idea of like a retro future like cassettes and
00:11:33 --> 00:11:36 tapes and kind of like analog like
00:11:36 --> 00:11:40 what we perceive now is like analog technologies like hard-lined
00:11:40 --> 00:11:43 technologies you in space like rather than
00:11:43 --> 00:11:47 like a streamlined like wireless system yeah now
00:11:47 --> 00:11:50 what we're going to do today in this row up is going to be something a
00:11:50 --> 00:11:53 little different than we tried in the past the character
00:11:53 --> 00:11:56 creation portion of it which starts
00:11:56 --> 00:11:59 on page 24 looks like
00:11:59 --> 00:12:02 and by the way this is my only complaint about any of this
00:12:02 --> 00:12:06 but it does pan out in a way too is
00:12:06 --> 00:12:11 that the pdf is two pages per page and all that yeah it's it's a free league
00:12:11 --> 00:12:17 it's a free league document they those swedes love double upping like basically
00:12:17 --> 00:12:24 like double spreading their their pdf so that like you can't not read it horizontal.
00:12:25 --> 00:12:27 And get both pages and it
00:12:27 --> 00:12:32 pays off in a way too like the timeline i mentioned beforehand i can see all
00:12:32 --> 00:12:37 that on one screen yeah i suppose that does help i don't know i i just i'm i'm
00:12:37 --> 00:12:43 a stickler i guess i'm like a a grognard or like i like the a single page format
00:12:43 --> 00:12:45 just for like convenience when I'm looking at it on my phone so I don't have
00:12:45 --> 00:12:47 to like tilt my phone over to make horizontal.
00:12:48 --> 00:12:51 Well I was sitting in earlier today kind
00:12:51 --> 00:12:54 of brushing up on this content before we recorded and I was looking at it on
00:12:54 --> 00:13:01 a Microsoft Surface and it I did like how it formats on that so I'm looking
00:13:01 --> 00:13:05 at one page I can slide my finger up and it shows me the other so it's more
00:13:05 --> 00:13:11 of the limited size on a phone screen or if you're,
00:13:11 --> 00:13:14 Looking at it on one monitor or something like that. I'm looking at it on like
00:13:14 --> 00:13:17 a 22, a 27 minutes monitor right now. And I'm seeing everything.
00:13:18 --> 00:13:20 Look at me, Mr. Big shit.
00:13:22 --> 00:13:26 So as far as character creation goes, we're going to do a quick little row up
00:13:26 --> 00:13:30 of characters here. And then we're going to stop.
00:13:30 --> 00:13:34 And then we're going to go down to the meat and potatoes of this episode,
00:13:34 --> 00:13:39 which will be the life pass, which is a really interesting thing.
00:13:39 --> 00:13:41 That's in this book here. It begins on page two.
00:13:44 --> 00:13:51 282, and it's a life path generator, randomly determines most of aspects of your PC's early life.
00:13:51 --> 00:13:57 With a few choices you make along the way. So the bulk of what we're going to do is going to be this.
00:13:57 --> 00:14:00 So we want to go ahead, do a quick little character creator,
00:14:00 --> 00:14:06 and then we may try to create the same characters again with the life path thing.
00:14:06 --> 00:14:09 And, you know, we'll get wildly different results.
00:14:10 --> 00:14:19 So it says on page 24 what we're going to do is we got a character sheet. Got it.
00:14:19 --> 00:14:23 On Freely's website as Zamona, I couldn't find a form fillable version,
00:14:23 --> 00:14:27 but a quick Google and a Reddit post and we're using those form fillable character sheets.
00:14:28 --> 00:14:31 We're going to determine our attributes, determine our skills,
00:14:32 --> 00:14:34 choose a talent, choose a name,
00:14:35 --> 00:14:40 decide on an appearance, decide on an agenda, choose a buddy or rival.
00:14:40 --> 00:14:42 We'll probably just leave that out because it's just the two of us.
00:14:42 --> 00:14:46 So I can be your buddy guy and you can be my, I'm not your guy, buddy.
00:14:47 --> 00:14:51 Yeah. He's not your good friend. I'm not your friend, buddy.
00:14:51 --> 00:14:56 Be honest with you. The more I think about it, I say, once we go through the
00:14:56 --> 00:15:01 top six of choosing name and the attributes, we may just kind of go ahead and switch on over.
00:15:02 --> 00:15:05 I think there's honestly what we
00:15:05 --> 00:15:07 should like so based off this what i'm seeing here for like the
00:15:07 --> 00:15:10 characters you're saying like oh we have to choose
00:15:10 --> 00:15:14 our name parents personal agenda and all that stuff first you know like when
00:15:14 --> 00:15:17 you go into the career section which it does say like the first one of the first
00:15:17 --> 00:15:21 things like it shows like a character creation is career because the careers
00:15:21 --> 00:15:28 have you can actually choose or roll like a certain die to to randomize your character from,
00:15:29 --> 00:15:32 or the career page specifically. Yeah.
00:15:33 --> 00:15:37 So that's what I'm planning on doing for my character. I'm just going to let the dice roll.
00:15:39 --> 00:15:44 And there's two modes to play for Alien. There's a cinematic one which are the
00:15:44 --> 00:15:49 pre-made adventures like the Destroyer of Worlds that came out for the previous
00:15:49 --> 00:15:52 Heart of Darkness is another one. Rapture Protocol.
00:15:53 --> 00:15:59 Thank you. All those are the cinematic ones there's pre-made people with pre-made agendas and so forth.
00:16:00 --> 00:16:04 And then there's campaign play. And that's what we're working with here with
00:16:04 --> 00:16:05 our character creation.
00:16:05 --> 00:16:10 We're going to create players and kind of go through the process.
00:16:10 --> 00:16:15 Now, it does mention, and I think I'm going to omit this, though I do,
00:16:15 --> 00:16:17 I know you love this particular style.
00:16:17 --> 00:16:23 On page 25, at the bottom in one of the little boxes there, it says random attributes.
00:16:23 --> 00:16:28 If you prefer a faster, more random approach to creating varied characters.
00:16:28 --> 00:16:31 You can row dots to determine attributes.
00:16:32 --> 00:16:33 So ones and sixes are off the table.
00:16:34 --> 00:16:40 You always re-row those, but you're going to row 4, D6, and 2, 3, 5 are your stats.
00:16:41 --> 00:16:43 Then you'll assign those to different abilities.
00:16:44 --> 00:16:48 Gotcha. That may not be bad, too. Yeah, I mean, there's also the starting one,
00:16:48 --> 00:16:49 like, to create a character distribute.
00:16:50 --> 00:16:53 Yeah, it has, like, a point-by system generally.
00:16:54 --> 00:16:58 Or you can go with this optional random attribute selection. Yeah.
00:16:58 --> 00:17:03 Yeah, the starting attribute, like, point-by system is 14 points across your attributes.
00:17:03 --> 00:17:05 And you may assign no less than two
00:17:05 --> 00:17:09 and no more than four to any one attribute
00:17:09 --> 00:17:12 except the key attribute of your career which
00:17:12 --> 00:17:15 can have a score of five so it's very similar to like other year
00:17:15 --> 00:17:18 zero systems um like i feel like that's
00:17:18 --> 00:17:22 something i remember from like boston yeah well we
00:17:22 --> 00:17:25 kind of mentioned this beforehand why don't
00:17:25 --> 00:17:29 we go ahead and jump into our character creation
00:17:29 --> 00:17:32 so we need to go for a career first yes
00:17:32 --> 00:17:35 your careers as mentioned in
00:17:35 --> 00:17:38 the book are a colonial marines which need no
00:17:38 --> 00:17:42 introduction by the way we're on page 30 something something
00:17:42 --> 00:17:47 just another bug hunt just another bug hunt there is the colonial marshall which
00:17:47 --> 00:17:53 we kind of alluded to earlier in this recording here which i do like it yeah
00:17:53 --> 00:17:58 it's a newer one right like they added that for this version of the game? No.
00:17:59 --> 00:18:05 Marshalls always existed. In character creation, we had the same classes that
00:18:05 --> 00:18:06 existed in the previous book here.
00:18:07 --> 00:18:13 We've got a lot of familiar faces, the Colonial Marine, the... Colonial Marshalls.
00:18:14 --> 00:18:18 Which I didn't remember existed. Good old boy. Company agent.
00:18:18 --> 00:18:21 You've got the kid. You've got the medic.
00:18:22 --> 00:18:28 You've got the officer, the pilot, the repneck, and then the scientist.
00:18:29 --> 00:18:31 So what are you feeling right now?
00:18:32 --> 00:18:37 Well, I love me space Westerns.
00:18:37 --> 00:18:42 So, and I would definitely, I want to try a, a colonial Marshall.
00:18:42 --> 00:18:48 That's my that's that's my going just on the idea of playing like again like
00:18:48 --> 00:18:53 just a space sheriff or a colonial sheriff kind of character yeah because so
00:18:53 --> 00:18:55 i can play justified in space.
00:18:56 --> 00:18:59 I think since it's the titler kind
00:18:59 --> 00:19:02 of character class in the game i think i'm just gonna go with the
00:19:02 --> 00:19:05 colonial marine that seems like the one
00:19:05 --> 00:19:08 that everybody kind of thinks of or maybe the
00:19:08 --> 00:19:12 officer actually push the co-officer i'm gonna go officer i'm
00:19:12 --> 00:19:15 actually kind of curious can you actually could you play a
00:19:15 --> 00:19:19 game of this with where you're just all
00:19:19 --> 00:19:23 colonial marine yeah there was the different like different things that you
00:19:23 --> 00:19:29 could choose i guess from right yeah destroyer worlds it was that was the bug
00:19:29 --> 00:19:33 hunt campaign there that was all colonial marines yeah there's also like you
00:19:33 --> 00:19:37 could like have somebody who's also like a pilot and like a medic and some of that so yeah,
00:19:37 --> 00:19:40 I'm just saying like, cause like colonial Marine, when I think colonial Marine,
00:19:40 --> 00:19:42 like, like I'm just, I was curious of like,
00:19:42 --> 00:19:46 could you actually just play a campaign of it where you are again,
00:19:46 --> 00:19:49 hell divers or like, or a hell diver esque thing where you're like a squad of
00:19:49 --> 00:19:53 Marines going down to a planet and like dealing with some kind of,
00:19:53 --> 00:19:54 some kind of space bug problem.
00:19:54 --> 00:19:59 I think I would just be up to, as you design the scenario.
00:19:59 --> 00:20:03 So I mean, each, each one has certain abilities and certain, uh,
00:20:04 --> 00:20:09 strengths and weaknesses. For example, on the officer, I was looking at range
00:20:09 --> 00:20:11 combat, command, manipulation.
00:20:12 --> 00:20:20 If it's just shooting stuff, then colonial Marines would be the ones for it. Yeah, true. Yeah.
00:20:21 --> 00:20:26 Other ones actually have it as well. The pilot also has range combat.
00:20:27 --> 00:20:30 Yeah. So I'm going to go ahead and get this started.
00:20:30 --> 00:20:34 I'm going to go ahead and pencil in my career
00:20:34 --> 00:20:38 officer and you know
00:20:38 --> 00:20:41 since i'm kind of looking at the character sheet here i want
00:20:41 --> 00:20:48 to row up my character name so they've got some generic ones here for not generic
00:20:48 --> 00:20:56 the pre one so i'm gonna go ahead and do that so 1d6 who am up so i have uh
00:20:56 --> 00:20:59 wrote up four i am julia quang,
00:20:59 --> 00:21:03 all right and let's see i
00:21:03 --> 00:21:06 mean there's nothing stopping me from just like making like writing another thing here
00:21:06 --> 00:21:09 oh yeah there's nothing to stop you i'm just i like d6s yeah
00:21:09 --> 00:21:14 i am going to go ahead and do my parents while we're at this so i'm going to
00:21:14 --> 00:21:26 go ahead and roll to d6 and it looks like Julia has a spotless uniform and a
00:21:26 --> 00:21:28 serious intense expression.
00:21:28 --> 00:21:30 That's what we got so far here.
00:21:32 --> 00:21:37 Well, let's see what my colonial marshal is going to do. I am Leanne Jenkins.
00:21:39 --> 00:21:45 That's got to be intentional. Leanne Jenkins. Oh my God. Yeah.
00:21:46 --> 00:21:49 Oh my God. He just went in. Saved him. No, he's got a facehugger after him.
00:21:54 --> 00:21:56 So I've, my appearance is I've
00:21:56 --> 00:22:01 already got, always got a cigarette in my mouth and old leather jacket.
00:22:02 --> 00:22:08 Apparently, the Dice Maiden is genre-savvy. All right, we got those two here.
00:22:08 --> 00:22:13 I'll tell you what, because on the character sheet here, we've got,
00:22:13 --> 00:22:17 it mentions talents, names, and appearance of what we're rolling off of here.
00:22:17 --> 00:22:19 I just took name and appearance first.
00:22:20 --> 00:22:24 I think, kind of going with the general feel of the character before we get
00:22:24 --> 00:22:30 into talents and abilities, I want to see what my personal agenda is.
00:22:30 --> 00:22:32 So for this, there are three.
00:22:32 --> 00:22:37 Again, I'm sure you can just substitute your own, but I am going to row 1D3.
00:22:38 --> 00:22:42 And my agenda is, hopefully they coincide. I wrote a one.
00:22:43 --> 00:22:49 You come from an officer family. You need to gain a promotion or award soon.
00:22:49 --> 00:22:53 Okay. So I need to make a name for myself. And this is for the,
00:22:53 --> 00:22:54 sorry, where was this from?
00:22:55 --> 00:22:58 A personal agenda. Ah, the personal agenda. I'll do that as well.
00:22:58 --> 00:23:01 So i gotta roll a d3 for this for me
00:23:01 --> 00:23:04 you did a bad thing in the past and it
00:23:04 --> 00:23:07 has come back to haunt you you need
00:23:07 --> 00:23:10 to decide what you made what you are made of that's interesting
00:23:10 --> 00:23:13 so that could have like some sort of
00:23:13 --> 00:23:19 like the one guy from from pitch black yeah the bounty hunter bring it yeah
00:23:19 --> 00:23:23 yeah the bounty hunter that's bringing uh i was gonna say vin diesel in yeah
00:23:23 --> 00:23:29 yeah bring riddick in and he's got like some some dark like kind of history
00:23:29 --> 00:23:31 kind of boiling up from the front to the surface,
00:23:32 --> 00:23:35 And these are built into the gameplay.
00:23:35 --> 00:23:39 It's like with Boston and other things like that. If you do things in your,
00:23:39 --> 00:23:43 in the gameplay that meet your show that you're trying to progress your personal
00:23:43 --> 00:23:48 agenda, then the game mother will give you an experience point for that.
00:23:48 --> 00:23:50 I love that. It's called game mother.
00:23:51 --> 00:23:55 GM, like acronym stands for, for game mother.
00:23:55 --> 00:24:01 And it's, I, although I am sad that it's not game and then M U slash T H slash,
00:24:02 --> 00:24:07 Like in every other version of alien, but I do appreciate that they,
00:24:07 --> 00:24:14 they made it game mother because of, of the whole like mother AI system. Yeah.
00:24:14 --> 00:24:19 I guess we should also do talent as well. Right. So. Yep. So go ahead and do that.
00:24:19 --> 00:24:23 I'll, I wrote while we were talking about mother and I wrote,
00:24:23 --> 00:24:28 I wrote one D three and I, I received the ability of pull rank.
00:24:28 --> 00:24:33 So that allows me to use my command skill in order to,
00:24:33 --> 00:24:39 to order other non-officer NPCs around as long as they belong to the same organization as me.
00:24:40 --> 00:24:42 So I can see where we're going to butt heads.
00:24:43 --> 00:24:47 Yeah, especially since I got basically the same thing. Because for one,
00:24:47 --> 00:24:51 the talent number one for Colonial Marshal is authority.
00:24:51 --> 00:24:56 You can use command skill instead of manipulation to get someone to bend to your will.
00:24:57 --> 00:25:00 So basically I am making the justified guy.
00:25:00 --> 00:25:03 Yeah, we're going to have a space pissing contest. Yeah.
00:25:04 --> 00:25:07 And we're just rivals. We just go ahead and write that. Yeah,
00:25:07 --> 00:25:09 we're just rivals. I'm fine with that.
00:25:12 --> 00:25:16 Well, we get to pick two on our gear. So we're going to row 2D6 now.
00:25:17 --> 00:25:26 I row a six and a two. So I have a CSUN PDAT, which I guess would be like a computer of some sort.
00:25:26 --> 00:25:30 I'd have to look it up. I apologize. and i
00:25:30 --> 00:25:40 got a uh m5 eva pistol so nice i'm packing what you got bud so i got the a stun
00:25:40 --> 00:25:49 baton and a 357 magnum revolver i like that so i am melee and rage capable.
00:25:51 --> 00:25:53 Experiment at bayonet do you something we
00:25:53 --> 00:25:56 noticed as well in looking through
00:25:56 --> 00:25:59 this the physical design of these books are
00:25:59 --> 00:26:02 much different because it looks like they're and i don't
00:26:02 --> 00:26:04 blame them for it every page in the
00:26:04 --> 00:26:07 original alien book was printed with black
00:26:07 --> 00:26:10 ink background yeah because like
00:26:10 --> 00:26:15 it's supposed to be like all nice and like space but
00:26:15 --> 00:26:18 then they learned i think they learned their lessons like it's it's much cheaper
00:26:18 --> 00:26:21 if we just print it with like a plain white background
00:26:21 --> 00:26:24 yeah we'll just make it look more corporate looking
00:26:24 --> 00:26:27 yeah it's got a lighter hue to it it
00:26:27 --> 00:26:32 looks more like like paper and a folder kind of vanilla folder kind of stuff
00:26:32 --> 00:26:37 it's i guess it's not fully white i guess it is like kind of there's a slight
00:26:37 --> 00:26:43 you do it yeah oh we still have a signature item too sorry yeah yeah sorry all
00:26:43 --> 00:26:45 right no that's no problem well i've got our sympathy,
00:26:46 --> 00:26:47 I rode with my options.
00:26:48 --> 00:26:52 I could have a ship's cat, a letter of recommendation, or an ICC commercial
00:26:52 --> 00:26:54 flight officer license.
00:26:54 --> 00:26:56 I have a cat. Oh, great.
00:26:57 --> 00:27:01 You're the one with, what was the cat's name in Alien? It's not Mew Mew.
00:27:01 --> 00:27:03 That's off of Stranger Things. No, it wasn't.
00:27:04 --> 00:27:07 Hang on. I want to see what, sorry, we were talking about the cat from Alien.
00:27:07 --> 00:27:09 I want to see what that cat's name. Cat from Alien.
00:27:10 --> 00:27:12 Jonesy. His name was Jonesy. Yeah.
00:27:13 --> 00:27:16 I mean, I would like to, I was thinking about naming mine C80.
00:27:16 --> 00:27:19 I think it looked like a pretty name. And it's also me, it's found our cat,
00:27:19 --> 00:27:23 but C80, nice. If it was a dog, I'd have the OG.
00:27:26 --> 00:27:29 God, God. But what was the name? Help me out.
00:27:30 --> 00:27:36 National treasure grew up not too far from where I did. Went to school in Lexington and all that.
00:27:37 --> 00:27:42 Harry Dean Stanton. Docwell? What? No, Harry Dean Stanton.
00:27:43 --> 00:27:50 He was the... I was called Stanton. Harry Dean Stanton was in the original Alien film. Oh, yeah.
00:27:50 --> 00:27:54 I mean, all roads do lead to Kentucky, so... Mm-hmm.
00:27:54 --> 00:27:58 And that was Lexington there, so he's from, like, Irvin. East or West Irvin.
00:27:58 --> 00:28:01 So you're gonna call him you catch my
00:28:01 --> 00:28:05 name's danton yeah so
00:28:05 --> 00:28:11 we have uh pretty much i'm not done sorry i forgot your signature item so so
00:28:11 --> 00:28:17 what did you wrote i had the choice or roll the d roll a d3 so the choices i
00:28:17 --> 00:28:23 have are a photo of a loved one dented flask with an inscription and a worn cap and I got one.
00:28:24 --> 00:28:29 So I have a photo of a loved one and I'm thinking it's going to be the photo of my dead wife.
00:28:30 --> 00:28:33 Ah, you always wanted to go out to the stars.
00:28:34 --> 00:28:37 Yeah, and like, I'm going to say it's one of those things where like I went
00:28:37 --> 00:28:41 out into the stars, I had to leave her behind on Earth,
00:28:41 --> 00:28:48 and by the time I got back, she had died of old age because that's a thing with
00:28:48 --> 00:28:50 the space travel in the alien universe still, right?
00:28:51 --> 00:28:54 Time dilation yeah you could have um i mean
00:28:54 --> 00:28:57 in the film ripley had a daughter back
00:28:57 --> 00:29:01 home when she was on yeah and then she got
00:29:01 --> 00:29:06 lost in space and i think her daughter was 60 years old when she got back yeah
00:29:06 --> 00:29:11 she yeah she and she passed like a few that's that's such a again like we're
00:29:11 --> 00:29:14 going to be dealing with that soon in a in a certain video game called exodus
00:29:14 --> 00:29:18 when it comes out but like that is going to be such a mind trip.
00:29:18 --> 00:29:23 That would definitely cause some existential horror. I could see why people...
00:29:24 --> 00:29:27 Start clinging to religion with that kind of
00:29:27 --> 00:29:32 stuff because like traveling out into the stars but like how and like not able
00:29:32 --> 00:29:37 to travel like instantaneously back and forth and having like loved ones age
00:29:37 --> 00:29:41 when you haven't that's gotta be like that's gotta fuck up your psyche yeah
00:29:41 --> 00:29:47 it hurts my head just thinking about it like in terms of like how the time dilation works but anyway.
00:29:48 --> 00:29:51 Looks like all we have to do is skill points now
00:29:51 --> 00:29:56 well that's that's back at the start of character creation at
00:29:56 --> 00:29:59 the basically like on page 24 25
00:29:59 --> 00:30:02 so yeah we have if we're
00:30:02 --> 00:30:05 gonna go with the 14 point spend so we
00:30:05 --> 00:30:08 have the attributes are strength agility wits and
00:30:08 --> 00:30:12 empathy and then each career has a key attribute
00:30:12 --> 00:30:15 that you can max out and such so yeah
00:30:15 --> 00:30:18 and i didn't even mention but you could in this game
00:30:18 --> 00:30:21 you could also play androids which we haven't wrote up an android or
00:30:21 --> 00:30:24 unless you wanted to make your character an android i was no i
00:30:24 --> 00:30:28 was i i'm i'm fine with my character being a human i do
00:30:28 --> 00:30:31 like i do like the idea i think it would be really funny if like somebody
00:30:31 --> 00:30:34 made a kid because that's one of the careers which i love but
00:30:34 --> 00:30:38 this is like career child all because
00:30:38 --> 00:30:44 of newt from alien yeah but i it's like that's their their personal agenda they're
00:30:44 --> 00:30:50 an android well for brevity's sake why don't we do this why don't we just go
00:30:50 --> 00:30:56 ahead and distribute our attributes and skills off mic,
00:30:56 --> 00:31:00 and then we'll come back with our characters and give everyone a rundown. Okay.
00:31:01 --> 00:31:05 Well, we're going to take a little break, and we'll be right back.
00:31:18 --> 00:31:23 Okay. So by going through the traditional method of just point bias,
00:31:23 --> 00:31:26 it looks like we've got our characters created.
00:31:26 --> 00:31:29 I created Julia Quang. She's an officer.
00:31:29 --> 00:31:33 I've given her pretty much middling stats of strength, agility,
00:31:34 --> 00:31:36 widths at three, and empathy at five.
00:31:37 --> 00:31:41 And I went ahead and took close combat, stamina, took those at one,
00:31:42 --> 00:31:46 piloting, since somebody needs a flight damn plane, and range combat because
00:31:46 --> 00:31:50 I expect I'll have to shoot something at two observation at two because I like
00:31:50 --> 00:31:56 spot hidden checks survival step one command and manipulation also at one so
00:31:56 --> 00:31:59 I've got a little bit of a social monster what did you make?
00:32:00 --> 00:32:04 So I made Leanne Jenkins. She's a colonial marshal.
00:32:05 --> 00:32:08 She's always got a cigarette in her mouth and wears an old leather jacket.
00:32:09 --> 00:32:13 Her attributes are a strength of two, an agility of four.
00:32:13 --> 00:32:18 Her key attribute is wits at five and empathy at three.
00:32:18 --> 00:32:21 Basically, I want to make her kind of like a sharpshooter, but also sharp witted
00:32:21 --> 00:32:26 and somewhat able to like calm down a situation if need be with empathy,
00:32:26 --> 00:32:30 or at least be able to like gauge a situation pretty well.
00:32:30 --> 00:32:33 Her health is three her stress currently zero
00:32:33 --> 00:32:37 because that's the starting and her resolve is four with
00:32:37 --> 00:32:40 skills i gave her one in heavy machinery one in
00:32:40 --> 00:32:43 stamina one in close combat one in
00:32:43 --> 00:32:46 mobility her key her key skill
00:32:46 --> 00:32:50 was range combat observation and command so
00:32:50 --> 00:32:53 i gave range combat two observation one and
00:32:53 --> 00:32:56 command of one her survival is two her
00:32:56 --> 00:33:00 manipulation is one and her medical aid is what awesome so
00:33:00 --> 00:33:03 i left out com tech and piloting because she's
00:33:03 --> 00:33:07 a marshal she doesn't necessarily need to know yeah how
00:33:07 --> 00:33:10 to how to hack things or how to how to pilot she's got other people for that
00:33:10 --> 00:33:16 all right talent wise i gave i we rolled up uh with the authority so you she
00:33:16 --> 00:33:18 can use her command skill instead
00:33:18 --> 00:33:23 of her manipulation to get somebody to bend to her will in her gear.
00:33:24 --> 00:33:27 She has a 357 Magnum revolver and a Stumbaton.
00:33:28 --> 00:33:33 And her signature item is a photo of a loved one, her dead wife from...
00:33:34 --> 00:33:38 From, uh, that basically passed on because she was in space too long.
00:33:38 --> 00:33:41 Yeah. Uh, Leanne was in space too long.
00:33:42 --> 00:33:46 Uh, and time dilations a bit. Actually, I'm going to put that into like time dilations a bitch.
00:33:48 --> 00:33:53 That, that, that, that's the, that's going to be her, her, like her signature line.
00:33:53 --> 00:33:58 Yeah. I've got some command abilities to boss around people that are,
00:33:58 --> 00:34:00 uh, you know, that are NPCs.
00:34:01 --> 00:34:07 And i've also ended up taking a little revolver and a one of the little mobile
00:34:07 --> 00:34:13 computers as well with my character and yeah she's more or less from a military
00:34:13 --> 00:34:19 family and she's from a family of officers and she's kind of climb trying to
00:34:19 --> 00:34:21 climb the ranks that's her agenda there,
00:34:21 --> 00:34:24 oh also we have because in under the gear stuff
00:34:24 --> 00:34:27 there is also uh uh funds like how much
00:34:27 --> 00:34:30 how many y dollars do we have i e
00:34:30 --> 00:34:32 w w y dollars because wailing you
00:34:32 --> 00:34:36 tanny and i ended up with 200 because
00:34:36 --> 00:34:40 i rolled a one two to multiply 200 w
00:34:40 --> 00:34:43 y dollars so i guess i
00:34:43 --> 00:34:46 gotta do that i didn't do it but i can't do since you
00:34:46 --> 00:34:50 just raised the bar no it's fine i'm
00:34:50 --> 00:34:53 looking for how much what my character's supposed to
00:34:53 --> 00:34:56 roll you gotta roll dice oh oh you
00:34:56 --> 00:35:03 fancy officer gets 300 uh if you only get one well we'll see let's see if i'm
00:35:03 --> 00:35:07 slumming it or let's see if i'm actually gonna make it so folks at home with
00:35:07 --> 00:35:15 bated breath you wait for me as i roll i have 900 monopoly dollars yeah lucky you yeah.
00:35:16 --> 00:35:19 Must be nice working for the company, like hoarding.
00:35:21 --> 00:35:24 There's, there's, you know, with the crown comes headaches as well.
00:35:25 --> 00:35:30 So here's what I'm really interested in doing now. Now that we just went through
00:35:30 --> 00:35:32 the traditional method of it.
00:35:32 --> 00:35:39 Life paths. So that on page 282, life path generator randomly determines most
00:35:39 --> 00:35:40 aspects of the PC's early life.
00:35:41 --> 00:35:45 If a few choices make along the way circumstances and events revealed by the
00:35:45 --> 00:35:49 Dice form a framework for your PC's backstory, leaving you to interpret the
00:35:49 --> 00:35:52 events and fill in the gaps any way you want.
00:35:52 --> 00:35:55 Life Pass system produces a wide variety of character outcomes and histories,
00:35:56 --> 00:35:58 and can result in unbalanced PCs.
00:35:58 --> 00:36:03 However, there is huge enjoyment in playing a PC whose backstory has dealt them
00:36:03 --> 00:36:08 a challenging hand, especially when your PC overcomes their disadvantages to
00:36:08 --> 00:36:10 prove the doubters wrong. Haters gonna hate.
00:36:12 --> 00:36:18 So Life Path does not use the concept of key attribute, but your choice of career
00:36:18 --> 00:36:20 defines the skills and talents.
00:36:20 --> 00:36:22 So here we go.
00:36:23 --> 00:36:26 Human or Android? Row 2D6.
00:36:26 --> 00:36:29 On a result of 11 or 12, you're an Android.
00:36:30 --> 00:36:36 Great. Let's find this out. Well, I'm an Android. I wrote a 12. All right.
00:36:37 --> 00:36:40 I am human. All right. Because I rolled a six.
00:36:42 --> 00:36:46 Humans start with a base score of two in each attribute.
00:36:47 --> 00:36:53 Androids may add plus three to any two attributes of their choice before starting their life path.
00:36:54 --> 00:36:58 So you get two. I get two in each. So humans get start with a base score of
00:36:58 --> 00:37:00 two in each attribute. Okay, interesting.
00:37:00 --> 00:37:03 Then get by the end of the life path. Okay, so we're making new character.
00:37:03 --> 00:37:07 This is entirely new character. So I'm going to kind of stick with the same concept.
00:37:08 --> 00:37:12 Okay, I'm going to just make my, I'm going to just take my template.
00:37:12 --> 00:37:16 What i technically made and make this character i
00:37:16 --> 00:37:19 just wonder android struggle
00:37:19 --> 00:37:22 with empathy so i think i actually
00:37:22 --> 00:37:25 am going to take my
00:37:25 --> 00:37:35 pluses and wits and agility and then i'll put the two in empathy and strength
00:37:35 --> 00:37:40 yeah so a little bit different now things are going to affect this as we go
00:37:40 --> 00:37:43 on, but this is just the basic build of it.
00:37:44 --> 00:37:47 All right. Minimum and maximum scores.
00:37:47 --> 00:37:52 By the end of the path, a human PC should score at least two in every attribute
00:37:52 --> 00:37:55 and cannot have a score greater than five.
00:37:57 --> 00:38:02 Android PCs can finish their life paths with attribute scores of up to eight.
00:38:03 --> 00:38:09 Skill levels never exceed five for any PC. if the random life path row results
00:38:09 --> 00:38:14 in an attribute score or skill level outside the range for your row.
00:38:15 --> 00:38:20 Okay? So I guess we've already did step one.
00:38:21 --> 00:38:27 Now it's time to go to two because there is a nice little handy little sci-com bar here.
00:38:27 --> 00:38:33 Step two is row your origin and gain three points and random general skills.
00:38:34 --> 00:38:37 So let's see. which super nation
00:38:37 --> 00:38:39 were you born into or which one made you
00:38:39 --> 00:38:43 what is a corporate or government sub affiliation
00:38:43 --> 00:38:50 where do you call home row 2d6 on the table on the next page you find out then
00:38:50 --> 00:38:55 row then d6 twice for your sub affiliation and home all right let's just go
00:38:55 --> 00:39:00 ahead and start with the first two yep so 2d6 for the origin right,
00:39:01 --> 00:39:04 I wonder if this is going to be like Traveler, and if you, um,
00:39:05 --> 00:39:09 if you choose the wrong one, you just die in character creation. I hope not.
00:39:10 --> 00:39:14 So, uh, I rode United Americas.
00:39:15 --> 00:39:18 Alright, let's see here. So, so you're, which Super Nation were you,
00:39:18 --> 00:39:24 okay, so Super Nation, I've got, so it's, you roll two die six,
00:39:24 --> 00:39:25 and then you add those together?
00:39:26 --> 00:39:27 Is that? Yeah. To get them? Okay.
00:39:28 --> 00:39:33 In that case, I've got four, so I am in the independent core,
00:39:33 --> 00:39:36 uh, the independent core systems colonies.
00:39:36 --> 00:39:41 Mm-hmm. And then I guess, uh. Now you need to do your sub affiliation.
00:39:41 --> 00:39:44 So you're also going to row 2D6 again. Okay.
00:39:45 --> 00:39:47 And I rowed six.
00:39:47 --> 00:39:53 So from again, the United America, so Western Hemisphere, and I'm from a minor corporation.
00:39:54 --> 00:40:00 That's my sub affiliation. Gotcha. So I have a six and a three for the independent
00:40:00 --> 00:40:01 colony, the independent core systems.
00:40:01 --> 00:40:04 So on a six i'm from a minor
00:40:04 --> 00:40:07 corporation a sub affiliate and my home is
00:40:07 --> 00:40:10 you got wrote 2d6 for your home 2d6 for
00:40:10 --> 00:40:13 home oh i thought it was what okay hang
00:40:13 --> 00:40:17 on all right no you're wrong i'm wrong okay yeah
00:40:17 --> 00:40:21 because it was like i thought it was you rolled two dice also i
00:40:21 --> 00:40:24 have a feeling like the original so no wouldn't
00:40:24 --> 00:40:27 it make more sense that you so for when you when you the first time me roll
00:40:27 --> 00:40:31 two die six for the super nation because you're adding that that one together
00:40:31 --> 00:40:36 right yeah so then but then you can also technically take those two die sixes
00:40:36 --> 00:40:41 that you just rolled and go into your sub affiliation and home and use those
00:40:41 --> 00:40:44 numbers i have misread that too uh.
00:40:45 --> 00:40:52 So for home and for sub affiliation it's a d6 each too so that would totally
00:40:52 --> 00:40:58 work yeah so yeah so you don't have to necessarily re-roll to die six for the sub affiliation home.
00:40:58 --> 00:41:02 In fact, it's, it's, it's built into the, the initial role for origin.
00:41:03 --> 00:41:05 So by that logic.
00:41:05 --> 00:41:09 Since I had a six, uh, since I, since I got a four, my first role.
00:41:09 --> 00:41:13 So I got the independent core systems and then I rolled a two and a two.
00:41:13 --> 00:41:18 So I would have my sub affiliation would be Wailing Uteni and I'd still be in
00:41:18 --> 00:41:22 my, what I rolled for, for my home, which is the new Eden set. Yeah.
00:41:23 --> 00:41:27 Mine would, I, you know, I just went ahead and rolled cause I didn't want to scroll up.
00:41:27 --> 00:41:32 I saw another D six and I ended up with, what God was it? Two.
00:41:33 --> 00:41:36 So I'm from the outer veil. that's what i call
00:41:36 --> 00:41:41 home fair enough also i i think i'm gonna stick with like my my separate role
00:41:41 --> 00:41:45 and go with a minor corporation because it makes sense i i just like the fact
00:41:45 --> 00:41:48 that like like i work for a minor corporation because i don't know what that
00:41:48 --> 00:41:52 in in setting i don't know what that entails like if that's just like it's the
00:41:52 --> 00:41:55 dollar general yeah exactly yeah the dollar general of New Eden.
00:42:00 --> 00:42:06 I'm just always moving. Looks like we're going over to...
00:42:07 --> 00:42:13 Alright, so, gain three points, determine your random, determine origin,
00:42:14 --> 00:42:16 you gain three points, and random general skills.
00:42:17 --> 00:42:22 Finally, gain three points in random general skills. So what is random general skills?
00:42:22 --> 00:42:25 Are they the ones on the sheet.
00:42:26 --> 00:42:29 So I guess there's, you know.
00:42:30 --> 00:42:34 Any of those other skills underneath the abilities, I guess you can end up putting
00:42:34 --> 00:42:36 three points, distribute three points as you want.
00:42:37 --> 00:42:40 And random general skills. page two 86.
00:42:41 --> 00:42:47 So let's see. I'm writing some stuff. Sorry, this is for early life for you gain.
00:42:48 --> 00:42:53 Well, this is where I'm getting slightly confused. I don't know if it's a book that's doing it or me.
00:42:53 --> 00:42:56 So, Oh, cause yeah, cause it says determine your early life,
00:42:57 --> 00:42:59 gaining two attribute points and two skill points.
00:43:00 --> 00:43:05 Yeah. Well, so we just did origin. So we get three and it says general skills.
00:43:06 --> 00:43:11 Then once you go, it tells you to go to page 286 for those skills.
00:43:11 --> 00:43:15 And it looks like we got a D66 table. Okay.
00:43:15 --> 00:43:19 So it would be 2D6.
00:43:20 --> 00:43:24 And then one's a 10 spot and the other is the secondary spot.
00:43:24 --> 00:43:32 So, for example, I would row, you know, slash row 2d6.
00:43:32 --> 00:43:35 So I wrote a five and a two.
00:43:36 --> 00:43:41 So I have survival at one. So I'm just going to repeat that two more times.
00:43:42 --> 00:43:46 So, I mean, I'm going to take everything at a file. So I've got survival.
00:43:46 --> 00:43:49 I got two points in survival. I like this.
00:43:50 --> 00:43:54 I'm just, I'm trying to like get, like it says gain three points.
00:43:54 --> 00:43:59 In random so you can just add like one point in each like like roll three times
00:43:59 --> 00:44:02 and on the random general skills.
00:44:03 --> 00:44:08 Okay. All right. So I've got 22, 52, and 64.
00:44:08 --> 00:44:19 So stamina, survival, and 64, and medical aid so far. A bit more diverse than I am.
00:44:19 --> 00:44:23 So we are going to move on to the life event.
00:44:24 --> 00:44:30 What was your early life like? Who did you share it with? And what experiences did you have?
00:44:30 --> 00:44:36 Row D66 three times on a table on page 284.
00:44:36 --> 00:44:43 Once for each column, add a specified attribute and skill point.
00:44:44 --> 00:44:51 Two of each of your scores. Decide the precise details of your early life experience,
00:44:51 --> 00:44:52 depending on whether you're a human or an android.
00:44:53 --> 00:44:56 You may also gain modifiers to your psyche.
00:44:56 --> 00:45:01 Evaluation row. Note these as you go. So give me a little bit of figuring out here.
00:45:01 --> 00:45:07 For mine, I was a minion working at the research facility in the company of
00:45:07 --> 00:45:13 a lover or ex-lover and experienced a no-win situation.
00:45:14 --> 00:45:17 Where you killed someone and or or through
00:45:17 --> 00:45:21 inaction let them die wow so
00:45:21 --> 00:45:26 yeah that's where my uh my ex-lover and how my lover became my ex-lover possibly
00:45:26 --> 00:45:32 yeah it's it's fun how these tables change everything yeah i've already did
00:45:32 --> 00:45:37 my rose here that's good all right first off i rode a three and a two.
00:45:38 --> 00:45:42 32, that gives me you survived a terrible crash.
00:45:42 --> 00:45:49 Now you always demand to be the driver or the pilot. So I add plus one to strength and agility.
00:45:50 --> 00:45:53 My second one, I wrote a six and a four.
00:45:53 --> 00:46:01 You're abandoned and left to die. This betrayal has wounded you so deeply that now you trust no one.
00:46:01 --> 00:46:04 Perhaps you want revenge on those who betrayed you.
00:46:04 --> 00:46:08 Add negative two to your psych evaluation row. We'll have to remember that.
00:46:08 --> 00:46:11 And finally, I wrote a three and a one.
00:46:12 --> 00:46:17 Wait, I want to reroll one because 31 and 32 are two. I did.
00:46:17 --> 00:46:19 They're the same one twice. Okay.
00:46:20 --> 00:46:24 They really wanted me to die on it. And then you kill someone.
00:46:25 --> 00:46:28 Okay, so you got the one, I got the no win scenario. Yeah. So I've got like
00:46:28 --> 00:46:31 a negative three to my psych evaluation just right out the gate.
00:46:32 --> 00:46:37 Yeah, I've got, I've only got, I've got minus one so far to my psych evaluation.
00:46:38 --> 00:46:39 All right, that's interesting.
00:46:40 --> 00:46:47 Yeah. I like how both my characters have lost their wives slash lover in their past.
00:46:49 --> 00:46:52 I was almost tempted to say that,
00:46:54 --> 00:47:00 Since we both share the same thing Maybe we were both That's the same death
00:47:00 --> 00:47:07 we're involved in Maybe that's why we have a relationship That could be worse Yeah,
00:47:08 --> 00:47:11 I mean, it would make sense. And that's why I love the tables.
00:47:11 --> 00:47:13 You said you were abandoned?
00:47:13 --> 00:47:20 Yes. I was left to die somewhere. And the betrayal wounded me so deeply that I don't trust anyone.
00:47:21 --> 00:47:24 And you're an android too, which is kind of funny.
00:47:26 --> 00:47:31 So, yeah. I mean, honestly, I didn't take a certain complaint or a certain thing serious.
00:47:32 --> 00:47:36 And if you get murdered, if your wife's death was by accident,
00:47:36 --> 00:47:38 there was something I knew was faulty.
00:47:38 --> 00:47:41 And that just put it on the back burner and i
00:47:41 --> 00:47:44 blame myself yeah well because it says like or
00:47:44 --> 00:47:48 through your through inaction you let them die so it's
00:47:48 --> 00:47:50 like or like the situation the no one situation
00:47:50 --> 00:47:56 where you killed someone so like i think i killed my wife but it's really like
00:47:56 --> 00:48:02 because uh because you you knew about the situation and uh you you ignored the
00:48:02 --> 00:48:07 like a problem that i and i But I think I killed them because of my own inaction
00:48:07 --> 00:48:09 or my, because I told them to do something.
00:48:10 --> 00:48:15 Yeah. Well, it's, or it's inaction on both her parts. It was negligence.
00:48:15 --> 00:48:19 Yeah. Negligence on your part. And then I, I just have guilt.
00:48:19 --> 00:48:21 Like I have like, what is it? Like a survivor's guilt.
00:48:21 --> 00:48:27 I sent, I sent them into a route, into, into, into some, into some lab to like check something.
00:48:27 --> 00:48:30 And then they died immediately after that. So like, I basically,
00:48:30 --> 00:48:32 I feel like I condemned them to death.
00:48:33 --> 00:48:39 Yeah. And I thought that somebody was trying to screw me over by making false
00:48:39 --> 00:48:42 recommendations of things that I didn't see as being a problem.
00:48:42 --> 00:48:44 And then they were a problem.
00:48:44 --> 00:48:49 So, wow, we made some troubling decisions.
00:48:51 --> 00:48:56 Oh, no, we fucked this entire thing up. What? How do we fuck it up?
00:48:57 --> 00:49:02 Hold on one second. We did, we did. I did early life. I haven't done the life event yet. I fucked up.
00:49:03 --> 00:49:09 I just went for early life. When I went, when it went from early life, I went to life. So fuck.
00:49:09 --> 00:49:12 Okay. I'm going to have to redo this whole thing. Oh no.
00:49:12 --> 00:49:15 I think you were looking at the same page too, Chris, because we were referenced
00:49:15 --> 00:49:19 in the same. No, I, I chose. So under early life.
00:49:19 --> 00:49:23 But we're not it's not early life look at the next page it's the one on the
00:49:23 --> 00:49:28 left column okay so what i did was i rolled three times the two die six and
00:49:28 --> 00:49:32 went followed the early life thing which is you were a and then that first column
00:49:32 --> 00:49:36 and then in the company of first the next column and then and experienced and
00:49:36 --> 00:49:39 then that was how i was going with like my no win situation,
00:49:40 --> 00:49:44 okay so what i did was the life event okay so you did the life event you fucked up,
00:49:45 --> 00:49:49 i've already i'm gonna leave my life event thing is that's fine yeah keep it as it is yeah,
00:49:49 --> 00:49:55 all right so with my first 2d6 so i'm going through the early life i have rode
00:49:55 --> 00:50:05 a five and a four so 54 that looks like i am a i was a wild in my early life
00:50:05 --> 00:50:09 i was a wildcatter living in your.
00:50:10 --> 00:50:11 Dahatul tractor.
00:50:12 --> 00:50:14 So I gained one to strength and agility.
00:50:15 --> 00:50:19 So I was a farm mech, maybe. A farm druid? A farm android, yeah.
00:50:19 --> 00:50:22 In the next category, it was a five and a one.
00:50:24 --> 00:50:29 So in a company of androids. Wow. So you're just like amongst your people.
00:50:29 --> 00:50:32 You basically was like a plantation. Oh, it was a plantation.
00:50:32 --> 00:50:36 Yeah. Well, I mean, we're going to figure this all out. So yeah,
00:50:36 --> 00:50:38 I was a farm mech amongst androids.
00:50:39 --> 00:50:43 And let's go for the final one. And experienced Bige.
00:50:44 --> 00:50:45 66.
00:50:46 --> 00:50:49 Time of an on an isolated isolated research
00:50:49 --> 00:50:53 station that malfunctioned releasing text subjects that
00:50:53 --> 00:50:57 wreaked havoc wow that could be the research facility i was i was in yeah so
00:50:57 --> 00:51:03 so it was a it was an agrarian so it was some kind of agrarian research station
00:51:03 --> 00:51:07 and yeah or there's a research station you're like like that was connected to
00:51:07 --> 00:51:10 your whatever like farming situation you were doing,
00:51:11 --> 00:51:14 and test subjects broke out and, and wreaked havoc. Yeah.
00:51:15 --> 00:51:19 That's why, that's how I lost my, my, my lover. It was during a,
00:51:19 --> 00:51:22 I, I sent them to go check something unaware that there was going to be some
00:51:22 --> 00:51:26 kind of malfunction that would like, she'd get caught up right in the,
00:51:26 --> 00:51:29 in the midst of, of the, of the,
00:51:29 --> 00:51:34 of the releasing of the test subjects and the test subjects just like ripped her apart. Yeah. Yeah.
00:51:34 --> 00:51:38 Goddamn, it's so dark. Wow. This is weird. This is alien.
00:51:39 --> 00:51:45 It's not puppy dogs and rainbows. So, even though my happy accident,
00:51:45 --> 00:51:49 by the way, that takes me up to negative five on my site now.
00:51:49 --> 00:51:53 But I may not be the officer that I wrote up the first time here,
00:51:53 --> 00:51:55 but this is... It's getting there.
00:51:55 --> 00:52:01 Yeah, I like this android. I mean, this, uh, this agrarian, I was like,
00:52:01 --> 00:52:04 this bumpkin android just fell into this.
00:52:05 --> 00:52:08 All right. So we have did early life and we have did life events.
00:52:09 --> 00:52:12 So no, I, now I have to, now I have to do life event. Yeah.
00:52:13 --> 00:52:17 So, so with life events, quickly checking something here.
00:52:17 --> 00:52:22 So with life events, experience a life event, roll to see what befalls you and
00:52:22 --> 00:52:26 gain two more attribute points and two points of random general skills.
00:52:27 --> 00:52:31 So so i got 32 you survive
00:52:31 --> 00:52:34 a terrible crash now you always demand
00:52:34 --> 00:52:41 to be the driver or pilot yeah that is the same one that i rode when i did that
00:52:41 --> 00:52:51 there because so what when i fucked this entire thing up i rode that that and then i rode that,
00:52:52 --> 00:52:57 you're abandoned and left to die. So like I rode this three times and you're
00:52:57 --> 00:52:58 only supposed to do life events two times, right?
00:52:59 --> 00:53:05 Yeah. So I am going to have to omit the, the last one I rode that somebody died on my watch.
00:53:06 --> 00:53:09 See, they kind of doubled up on this here. And that's where I got kind of confused
00:53:09 --> 00:53:13 with like what you rode and what I rode kind of thing.
00:53:13 --> 00:53:16 So, I mean, we can still say it happened or we were involved in it somehow.
00:53:17 --> 00:53:21 Yeah. Well then now, Now we have to roll from the, the random general skills
00:53:21 --> 00:53:25 twice, I guess, to, to gain those, that, that point, right?
00:53:26 --> 00:53:29 Well, you gain those skills. You, you gain.
00:53:30 --> 00:53:33 Cause you get two ability, uh, you get the two specific ability,
00:53:33 --> 00:53:35 uh, attribute points and then
00:53:35 --> 00:53:40 you, and then two points in random general skills on the next page to 86.
00:53:42 --> 00:53:47 So I'm currently at 4 Strength, 3 Agility, 3 Wits, and 2 Empathy.
00:53:48 --> 00:53:55 With my modifications, deleting the second life event, it's because I picked three of them.
00:53:55 --> 00:54:00 I have Strength and Agility is at 5, and my Wits and Empathy are at 2. Gotcha.
00:54:01 --> 00:54:06 So I guess next up is roll 2 die 6 twice to see what we get.
00:54:06 --> 00:54:11 I rode a 31 and a 32 and I may actually reroll one of those again because 31
00:54:11 --> 00:54:20 and 32 unless no I'm gonna take it because you know what it gives me two more points in piloting and,
00:54:21 --> 00:54:25 apparently I just have two apparently my two points are both going into survival,
00:54:26 --> 00:54:30 I still have no points in piloting I still just have like no points in piloting.
00:54:32 --> 00:54:34 Despite the fact that I were okay so I have like
00:54:34 --> 00:54:38 three now in survival should i re-roll one
00:54:38 --> 00:54:41 of those it's your call i'm gonna i'm gonna run with
00:54:41 --> 00:54:44 it because it kind of works with me but i'll you
00:54:44 --> 00:54:47 know no i'm i'm gonna i'm gonna follow like the the role
00:54:47 --> 00:54:52 of the table i'm gonna whatever dice whatever whatever comes may that's that's
00:54:52 --> 00:54:56 how i'm going with it so i'm just really i'm really good at surviving after
00:54:56 --> 00:55:02 all this so i have like survival three so after that we then move on to gain
00:55:02 --> 00:55:06 two points of attributes of your choice and then apply,
00:55:07 --> 00:55:13 for your first career. If successful, you gain two points in random career skills,
00:55:13 --> 00:55:17 a role for gear, and a role for your first paycheck.
00:55:18 --> 00:55:21 So two attributes of your choice.
00:55:21 --> 00:55:29 I'm going to be truly random and just make a two-die four to see where those points go.
00:55:29 --> 00:55:32 You don't get to tell me I can choose.
00:55:33 --> 00:55:36 So, wow, they're both going into empathy.
00:55:39 --> 00:55:44 So i have a strength of four an agility of three wits of three and an empathy of four.
00:55:44 --> 00:55:47 Wow what did you what are you choosing i'm just
00:55:47 --> 00:55:50 spinning two points i'm just going to take it you know
00:55:50 --> 00:55:53 what i'm just going to take them both in wits fair enough okay
00:55:53 --> 00:55:56 all right and now how about
00:55:56 --> 00:55:59 you apply for your first career choice so for
00:55:59 --> 00:56:02 that so yeah that is going to be at the bottom there so next
00:56:02 --> 00:56:05 game two points about okay yeah if you're a choice that's
00:56:05 --> 00:56:08 what we did already and then your first career the table
00:56:08 --> 00:56:11 below lists the minimum attribute skill
00:56:11 --> 00:56:15 scores for each career to apply make
00:56:15 --> 00:56:21 a skill role against one of the skills listed for the career the role cannot
00:56:21 --> 00:56:29 be pushed okay so so this one we're actually we get to i guess we get to like
00:56:29 --> 00:56:32 choose which career we want our character to follow based on,
00:56:33 --> 00:56:40 and the requirements are the, uh, the, the, the requirements are whatever you
00:56:40 --> 00:56:45 have, like you have to have a certain amount in, in the attributes to do so.
00:56:45 --> 00:56:50 So for example, I could be a colonial Marine, but I could also be,
00:56:50 --> 00:56:55 well, I couldn't be, I couldn't be a colonial, a colonial Marshall and I couldn't be a company agent.
00:56:55 --> 00:56:59 I couldn't be, I'm not going to be a kid because that's not a thing. I could be a medic.
00:56:59 --> 00:57:06 I could be an officer or a roughneck because my four, three, three, four.
00:57:06 --> 00:57:09 So I could either be a Marine or,
00:57:10 --> 00:57:13 Which is for agility is three.
00:57:14 --> 00:57:19 I think I'm going to go with an officer just because maybe like,
00:57:20 --> 00:57:23 well, because my wits is three and my empathy is four, but also maybe like that,
00:57:23 --> 00:57:26 like after like all that bullshit and some of that, like I decided I actually
00:57:26 --> 00:57:30 like, I signed up for being an officer with the company. You got to roll for it first.
00:57:30 --> 00:57:33 I got to actually roll for it. Yeah. You know what I'm going to do?
00:57:33 --> 00:57:35 I'm going to go for colonial Marshall.
00:57:36 --> 00:57:42 You do so, sir. i just realized what we're doing we're just making our characters in reverse,
00:57:43 --> 00:57:48 if i'm so so wait hang on so we have to roll against one of the skills listed in the career,
00:57:49 --> 00:57:52 so if if unsuccessful you are
00:57:52 --> 00:57:55 rejected and must apply to a different one however you
00:57:55 --> 00:57:58 may push a fast one see above okay if
00:57:58 --> 00:58:04 you roll one you join as a standard recruit if you roll a two or more someone
00:58:04 --> 00:58:11 has taken note of your potential and you gain favor make a role on the table
00:58:11 --> 00:58:15 on the next page okay so what is what is the success though like how do you
00:58:15 --> 00:58:17 fail i can't remember how you fail in this game,
00:58:18 --> 00:58:23 I think if we're just looking for matches. So for example, it looks like I got
00:58:23 --> 00:58:28 one in observation and Mars will be observation and manipulation.
00:58:28 --> 00:58:30 So I got whatever I'm rolling.
00:58:30 --> 00:58:36 It's going to be like five days D six. And then if I get one success, then I succeed.
00:58:36 --> 00:58:40 Okay. So I've got empathy. So empathy plus manipulation, I guess I'm going to go with.
00:58:40 --> 00:58:46 So that's going to be five. I get to, let's see if, if this nameless character is going to get,
00:58:47 --> 00:58:50 to get to be at a be an
00:58:50 --> 00:58:53 officer is it one is it matches in this game i
00:58:53 --> 00:58:56 can't remember it's been a bit of hot minutes since i played vossin's no
00:58:56 --> 00:58:58 no it's it's uh my understanding of it it
00:58:58 --> 00:59:02 puts your zero engine it's just each six it counts
00:59:02 --> 00:59:05 nothing else does so i mean you succeeded
00:59:05 --> 00:59:08 exceedingly okay so i got two right yes
00:59:08 --> 00:59:11 i got two two six two sixes so so i
00:59:11 --> 00:59:15 exceedingly so i actually got really yeah okay cool okay i
00:59:15 --> 00:59:18 i succeeded though with two dice with two sixes so
00:59:18 --> 00:59:21 i i i gained a
00:59:21 --> 00:59:27 favor i i i succeeded with favor so make and so i got to make a roll on the
00:59:27 --> 00:59:34 table next to the page all right go for it i didn't and i got popular popular
00:59:34 --> 00:59:37 you're gonna be popular so i
00:59:37 --> 00:59:41 gained plus one to manipulation it just keeps adding on to my manipulation,
00:59:42 --> 00:59:44 when dealing with your organization.
00:59:44 --> 00:59:47 So that's basically like, it's almost like a talent. Yeah.
00:59:48 --> 00:59:52 I have got, and of course we can look at our paycheck stuff later.
00:59:53 --> 00:59:56 No, now must know now. Fuck, I do now.
00:59:57 --> 01:00:01 So I'd be, I'd just, I'd just be a dick, but yeah. No, let's go ahead and get it over with.
01:00:02 --> 01:00:07 It's on that. All right. So officer, a die six.
01:00:07 --> 01:00:10 That's 600 starting cash.
01:00:11 --> 01:00:16 Wow, I have five times 150, 750, why dollars?
01:00:17 --> 01:00:22 Now, looks like we're here. You're hired. Once recruited, go basic training,
01:00:22 --> 01:00:26 get geared up and get your first paycheck. So we already did a paycheck, I guess.
01:00:27 --> 01:00:33 Row D3 twice on the table, career skills, gaining one skill in each row.
01:00:33 --> 01:00:36 Once recruited, yeah, basic training, gear up and get your first paycheck.
01:00:36 --> 01:00:40 Roll die three d3 twice and
01:00:40 --> 01:00:44 on the table below for career skills okay so
01:00:44 --> 01:00:47 basically like the skill one skill two and skill three i am
01:00:47 --> 01:00:55 getting getting observation and if you want to observe i'm very observant okay
01:00:55 --> 01:01:01 and i'm getting this makes sense i'm getting range combat and and range combat
01:01:01 --> 01:01:05 I got to reroll, I think. I mean, I'll allow it.
01:01:06 --> 01:01:12 Oh, get a, get a, wait. So like get a one skill. So basically just boost up my, my range combat.
01:01:13 --> 01:01:17 All right. You're the gun. It's starting to look like this. Like I got my observation.
01:01:18 --> 01:01:22 It took me up to three. Cause I wrote the same thing twice, but yours,
01:01:22 --> 01:01:25 you wrote the combat twice. So I'm sort of just like, you know,
01:01:26 --> 01:01:30 I know we kind of kick some ideas of what our characters are going to be like moving forward, but.
01:01:30 --> 01:01:36 It looks like he might have to be deputized to shoot shit for me at this point. Yeah.
01:01:36 --> 01:01:41 Well, oh yeah. Roll once on the gear table for your character. See chapter two.
01:01:42 --> 01:01:45 Uh, that's probably under, yeah. Under the, so my officer.
01:01:45 --> 01:01:50 So I said, how many did you have to roll for that? I say. Roll once on the gear table.
01:01:50 --> 01:01:54 Okay. So under officer, my gear. Okay. Let's see.
01:01:55 --> 01:02:00 I am getting a four, an M three 14 motion tracker.
01:02:01 --> 01:02:08 We may need one of those. I am getting a revolver. All right.
01:02:09 --> 01:02:11 We'll swap off. Here, use this.
01:02:12 --> 01:02:16 Yeah, we'll just like, hey, you take this. So I guess, yeah,
01:02:16 --> 01:02:18 we now move on to career terms.
01:02:19 --> 01:02:24 You must serve at least one term in your career, but may choose to serve three.
01:02:25 --> 01:02:30 Follow the steps for each term. Posting. What did you do this term?
01:02:30 --> 01:02:34 Row a D6 and look at the page, the next page.
01:02:34 --> 01:02:39 This can give you bonus gear and can gain one point in a random career skill.
01:02:40 --> 01:02:43 Okay, so I guess roll a die six, yeah.
01:02:44 --> 01:02:48 I'm the only one who thinks this was like a lot, this is going a lot slower
01:02:48 --> 01:02:50 than us just making our characters regularly.
01:02:51 --> 01:02:56 But it's opened up some very interesting options. That's true, yeah.
01:02:57 --> 01:03:00 Oh, tough decisions is the one I got.
01:03:01 --> 01:03:06 You make the big decisions and get the job done, even if someone,
01:03:06 --> 01:03:14 some of your team don't like, Even if your team, even if some of your team don't make it.
01:03:14 --> 01:03:19 So the Vermeier situation, the Vermeier protocol, the Caden,
01:03:19 --> 01:03:21 I'm sorry, Caden, you're dead protocol.
01:03:22 --> 01:03:26 He's not that great of a character anyway. Yeah. Don't fight me.
01:03:26 --> 01:03:28 Don't fight me on this audience.
01:03:29 --> 01:03:33 There's Caden fans out there. It's like I took the lawless frontier.
01:03:33 --> 01:03:36 I wrote a four. it's you against the gangs
01:03:36 --> 01:03:40 corporations and racketeers so what
01:03:40 --> 01:03:43 does that mean alright so to find out
01:03:43 --> 01:03:46 this can give you a bonus gear roll
01:03:46 --> 01:03:49 and you also gain one point in
01:03:49 --> 01:03:57 a random career skill does it I'm not seeing shit like I'm looking at for officer
01:03:57 --> 01:04:09 doesn't there are some that say make a bonus career gear role and that kind of thing. Mine doesn't.
01:04:09 --> 01:04:12 And yours was a, yours was a colonial Marshall, which one?
01:04:12 --> 01:04:17 Yeah. Number four. Number four. Okay. So lawful frontier, it's you against the
01:04:17 --> 01:04:19 gangs, corporations and racketeers.
01:04:19 --> 01:04:22 Yeah, no, we just lucked it. We, we lucked out and didn't get a,
01:04:23 --> 01:04:26 didn't get anything for that one. So. Yeah.
01:04:26 --> 01:04:31 Because it says it can give you a bonus gear roll, and you also gain one point
01:04:31 --> 01:04:32 in a random career skill.
01:04:33 --> 01:04:38 Well, I think if I'm getting one point in a random career skill. I'm going to roll for it.
01:04:39 --> 01:04:42 I'm just going to take it. I don't have anything in firearms,
01:04:42 --> 01:04:44 so I think I need something.
01:04:46 --> 01:04:50 I'm always going to let the dice roll for this. Okay. 51.
01:04:52 --> 01:04:56 Okay, I'm going to have to change it. i'm gonna have to just randomly make one
01:04:56 --> 01:05:03 because like that's that'll that'll give me that that will be four points in
01:05:03 --> 01:05:08 survival i don't think i can even do that right what's like the max for skills
01:05:08 --> 01:05:12 in i think if max has had it or i thought,
01:05:12 --> 01:05:15 Skill levels can never exceed five for any PC. Okay.
01:05:15 --> 01:05:18 All right. You know what? Then fuck it. Yeah. I left the dice roll.
01:05:18 --> 01:05:21 I'm going to have, I'm just going to be, I'm just going to survive.
01:05:23 --> 01:05:28 Nothing else. Just survive. Well, now we got to do a performance check on it.
01:05:28 --> 01:05:30 Let's see how well we did. Oh no.
01:05:30 --> 01:05:34 So this is where we're going to use an ability. Okay. So performing.
01:05:34 --> 01:05:41 How well did you do your job? Make a skill test against a career skill on your, of your choice.
01:05:41 --> 01:05:48 You cannot push so i have range combat command and manipulation i guess i'm going to go with um,
01:05:48 --> 01:05:56 ranged combat i'm gonna give that a shot so my character's range combat is three and my,
01:05:56 --> 01:06:04 agility is three so i'm rolling die six or the six die or i'm rolling six die six i got one,
01:06:04 --> 01:06:10 i'm gonna i'm gonna say that mine was done with my wits and my observation if
01:06:10 --> 01:06:17 you roll one your performance has been satisfactory if you fail suffer a disaster.
01:06:18 --> 01:06:21 Oh so i didn't get a single you
01:06:21 --> 01:06:23 got disaster so roll a die six and on the
01:06:23 --> 01:06:26 disaster table sir this is actually kind of
01:06:26 --> 01:06:30 fun i'm not gonna lie this is yeah yeah trauma you
01:06:30 --> 01:06:33 cannot forget to terrify an incident lose one attribute from
01:06:33 --> 01:06:37 either wits or empathy you saw
01:06:37 --> 01:06:41 something that you're that's never like you're never gonna be able to recharge
01:06:41 --> 01:06:46 at night or recharge well at night I guess I'll take which down to three does
01:06:46 --> 01:06:49 that hang on because does that work for an as an Android let me let me take
01:06:49 --> 01:06:53 a look here they're not differentiating from what I can tell you,
01:06:54 --> 01:06:58 gm okay if you are a secret android i'm
01:06:58 --> 01:07:00 not a secret yeah you are definitely not a secret
01:07:00 --> 01:07:03 just because like if you go down if you okay so like
01:07:03 --> 01:07:06 uh you're an android if you're an android decide okay
01:07:06 --> 01:07:09 androids because i thought i saw or
01:07:09 --> 01:07:12 like earlier in the character creator androids have some
01:07:12 --> 01:07:15 such some things about that yeah playing as an
01:07:15 --> 01:07:18 android androids are an important part of the alien universe and
01:07:18 --> 01:07:24 you can play as one or as you as your player androids are rare however and we
01:07:24 --> 01:07:28 recommend that you talk it through with the rest of the group before creating
01:07:28 --> 01:07:32 an android the following special rules apply to androids androids get a plus
01:07:32 --> 01:07:38 three bonus on to two attributes androids can't push skill rolls.
01:07:38 --> 01:07:44 Androids don't suffer stress and don't have stress levels androids never make
01:07:44 --> 01:07:51 panic rolls and androids suffer damage differently me against the gangs I failed.
01:07:52 --> 01:07:55 Traumatized by it more so My wits
01:07:55 --> 01:07:58 failed me And it doesn't seem
01:07:58 --> 01:08:04 like I did a success Gain one random career talent See chapter 2 Interesting
01:08:04 --> 01:08:09 that traumatized you Second term you may replace This with a general talent
01:08:09 --> 01:08:16 So we get one random talent From our career as well Yep So.
01:08:17 --> 01:08:19 What's that android from Prometheus?
01:08:19 --> 01:08:24 What's that guy's name yeah you're kind of becoming you're kind of the David
01:08:24 --> 01:08:30 because you're like your trauma it may be coloring your perspective of organics a little bit,
01:08:31 --> 01:08:35 Maybe you're like seeing the horrors of organics. And this is,
01:08:35 --> 01:08:37 I get one of my key skills.
01:08:38 --> 01:08:43 And I'm going to say that I'm going to up my firing to two now.
01:08:44 --> 01:08:49 Because maybe that was the problem. Maybe it's a disaster, not because I failed,
01:08:49 --> 01:08:51 but because there's a blood trail.
01:08:52 --> 01:08:59 Yeah. All right. So that was from your. Yeah. Yeah. And you have a minus one to your psyche valve.
01:09:00 --> 01:09:03 Oh yeah. At this point, I'd have to double check. I think I've got like negative
01:09:03 --> 01:09:05 five to my psyche. Oh, no.
01:09:06 --> 01:09:10 Gain one random career talent for your second and third term.
01:09:10 --> 01:09:15 You may replace this with general talent of your choice. Okay.
01:09:15 --> 01:09:19 Probably just going to, for brevity's sake, I'm just going to kind of let it
01:09:19 --> 01:09:22 go with this being one term.
01:09:22 --> 01:09:27 Yeah. I'm just going to roll though for this second. Make a row for your career gear.
01:09:28 --> 01:09:32 Okay. so i got front front line leader great you
01:09:32 --> 01:09:35 get plus two dice to command roles to rally
01:09:35 --> 01:09:38 broke a broken character so that's my my
01:09:38 --> 01:09:41 one career i almost feel like i'm becoming commander shepherd
01:09:41 --> 01:09:44 a little bit yeah it's starting to look like it i might
01:09:44 --> 01:09:48 be i may it may be because i've been playing i've been replaying mass effect
01:09:48 --> 01:09:55 lately i got subdue so when attempting to grapple an opponent in close combat
01:09:55 --> 01:10:02 you get a plus two dice so i'm gonna add that to my ability here or my talent,
01:10:02 --> 01:10:07 okay where i'm really enjoying the life path thing i like it it's just yeah
01:10:07 --> 01:10:12 it's it's interesting to create a character this way okay gain one random career
01:10:12 --> 01:10:17 talent for this for your second and third term you may replace this with a general
01:10:17 --> 01:10:20 talent of your choice okay so basically just.
01:10:22 --> 01:10:25 What does that mean like we have to select like we have a second and third term
01:10:25 --> 01:10:30 if you well you take the more dan you gamble for more damage and other things
01:10:30 --> 01:10:32 like that but on the second term,
01:10:33 --> 01:10:36 oh yeah but you may choose to serve up to three
01:10:36 --> 01:10:39 terms gotcha okay yeah follow okay
01:10:39 --> 01:10:42 so yeah we're just gonna go with one then right yeah okay yeah
01:10:42 --> 01:10:45 so it looks like it is the
01:10:45 --> 01:10:50 final touch i mean a psychic evaluation well i still have to do gear and paycheck
01:10:50 --> 01:10:55 sorry my bad oh okay i already wrote my paycheck i didn't do my gear so for
01:10:55 --> 01:11:02 i have a siegson pdat on top of my motion tracker so.
01:11:04 --> 01:11:08 And then for my paycheck, I'm guessing that's from the career as well.
01:11:08 --> 01:11:12 So I made an extra $600 Y dollars.
01:11:12 --> 01:11:15 So I'm actually doing pretty well funds wise.
01:11:15 --> 01:11:22 Oh yeah, you're doing well. I got $1 Y dollars.
01:11:23 --> 01:11:26 We're moving on to psych eval. All right.
01:11:27 --> 01:11:31 Each character ends their life path with their psych evaluation.
01:11:31 --> 01:11:35 So the company can see what they've got on their hands.
01:11:35 --> 01:11:38 Androids undergo a product cognitive stability test.
01:11:39 --> 01:11:42 This row on the table, also row on the table.
01:11:43 --> 01:11:45 Prayers should role-play the results.
01:11:45 --> 01:11:50 2D6 on the table, page 88, and apply modifiers gained.
01:11:50 --> 01:11:54 So I only have minus one so far to my sake of balance.
01:11:57 --> 01:12:00 Sometimes there's a benefit to being a terrible human being. yeah
01:12:00 --> 01:12:07 that's so i've got trauma i mean well i felt that was a negative one there and
01:12:07 --> 01:12:17 then on the big table of shit there as well um i was oh it looks like i i kind of hang on so it's,
01:12:17 --> 01:12:23 roll two die six on the tape on the table and apply the modifiers okay so i
01:12:23 --> 01:12:26 end up i rolled a seven. I rolled to get a seven.
01:12:27 --> 01:12:30 Is it so you roll two die six and then add those two numbers together?
01:12:31 --> 01:12:33 Or subtract them, I guess.
01:12:33 --> 01:12:37 No, but I mean like the two die six, like the results you roll, you add those together.
01:12:38 --> 01:12:43 Psychic Values at the bottom is 2d6 and it's pretty much Apocalypse World stuff.
01:12:45 --> 01:12:51 So we add those together as this go around. Okay, so I got a seven minus one, so six.
01:12:52 --> 01:12:56 So I have mild trauma, nightmares, nervous episodes, disruptive,
01:12:57 --> 01:12:59 likely to bellyache and bitch.
01:13:01 --> 01:13:03 Wow. Thanks, Wayland Uttani.
01:13:05 --> 01:13:09 No, I wrote, I'm in the negatives. I'm dangerous. Able volatile.
01:13:11 --> 01:13:19 Oh no. Yeah. So I, I wrote two DC, I wrote double ones and I had negative four.
01:13:22 --> 01:13:26 So you're my, yes, you're less than zero. So you are, yeah, you're a unstable
01:13:26 --> 01:13:28 volatile. You are David.
01:13:29 --> 01:13:36 I'm a loose cannon. Yeah. You're a loose. you gotta hear oh man that's that's
01:13:36 --> 01:13:41 awesome got the crazy you already got the crazy android crazy android and a
01:13:41 --> 01:13:47 and a and a and a bellyaching officer oh my god we created a body cop,
01:13:48 --> 01:13:54 you're you're david and i'm the the the bellyaching officer like marine officer
01:13:54 --> 01:14:01 in the Hudson yeah Hudson yeah except I'm not a colonial marine yeah oh lord,
01:14:02 --> 01:14:08 any modifiers final touches describe your character's name appearance I think
01:14:08 --> 01:14:11 one final touch we should actually add is from the character from the career
01:14:11 --> 01:14:16 the signature item we should actually give unless the game like has a larger,
01:14:16 --> 01:14:21 listing of signature items somewhere no I think I mean honestly at this point
01:14:21 --> 01:14:24 you're on the character sheet and we can just I'm just,
01:14:24 --> 01:14:29 we just pick really I'm going to roll again so it's this one's going to be a
01:14:29 --> 01:14:35 letter of recommendation alright I have a letter of recommendation what did you get?
01:14:35 --> 01:14:39 Oh I'm just looking a worn cap.
01:14:41 --> 01:14:44 As a cowboy hat yeah of course
01:14:44 --> 01:14:47 yeah so yeah finishing touches i guess is really just
01:14:47 --> 01:14:51 like figuring out our our career or
01:14:51 --> 01:14:53 yeah our career as an officer or like my for mike is a
01:14:53 --> 01:14:56 big officer but like i guess like name appearance health
01:14:56 --> 01:14:59 stress resolve that kind
01:14:59 --> 01:15:03 of stuff because i didn't have that i haven't done that yet so okay
01:15:03 --> 01:15:07 let's just go to the career spot
01:15:07 --> 01:15:10 so okay so i'm going to be lloyd
01:15:10 --> 01:15:13 t derrington lloyd lloyd
01:15:13 --> 01:15:17 in the name of the lloyd it's lloyd
01:15:17 --> 01:15:21 dad no o-y-d lloyd i'm
01:15:21 --> 01:15:29 leanne james oh no no you're an android so you need to be it should be a one
01:15:29 --> 01:15:38 one like just like a single for like a single name i am appearance so yeah i gotta do that now so,
01:15:39 --> 01:15:42 I've got so I have,
01:15:43 --> 01:15:47 My hair is in a crew cut or tied back. I'm going to go with the crew cut and
01:15:47 --> 01:15:48 I am impatiently tapping.
01:15:49 --> 01:15:51 I impatiently tap my foot.
01:15:52 --> 01:15:56 That's my appearance. Wow. Oh, that's your appearance. I mean,
01:15:56 --> 01:16:02 with a name like Leanne, I'm haggard and unshaven and I have an impressive mustache.
01:16:05 --> 01:16:13 I'm sorry. I'm Lee. and then my last name is ann but it looks like lee ann so
01:16:13 --> 01:16:15 no you're lee android lee the android.
01:16:17 --> 01:16:19 This is fun also i guess we have to do
01:16:19 --> 01:16:23 personal agenda right yeah yeah so for
01:16:23 --> 01:16:27 me you come from an officer family you need
01:16:27 --> 01:16:30 to gain a promotion or an award soon
01:16:30 --> 01:16:33 so that actually might explain why my character is like
01:16:33 --> 01:16:36 like why he's risen up the ranks and and
01:16:36 --> 01:16:39 like despite all like the despite like the the traumatic
01:16:39 --> 01:16:43 loss of his his loved one or his lover was he's
01:16:43 --> 01:16:46 been pushed very hard by his family or by the by
01:16:46 --> 01:16:50 the deeds of his family yeah i i
01:16:50 --> 01:16:53 wrote that i dreamed of turning in my badge and suddenly down in peace i
01:16:53 --> 01:16:56 i think that first job going from it really
01:16:56 --> 01:16:59 fucked you up it really fucked me up i mean i started out
01:16:59 --> 01:17:03 like at a facility and it wasn't great and i've been left to die before and
01:17:03 --> 01:17:09 i realized that i'm a hammer and that's all i'm good for is hammering and i
01:17:09 --> 01:17:16 should probably be put away but are retired to going back to driving to my space tractor,
01:17:17 --> 01:17:20 yeah they keep dragging me back,
01:17:20 --> 01:17:25 Yeah, despite the fact that you really should not be. You should really be decommissioned.
01:17:26 --> 01:17:30 No decommissioned. Sorry, that's a hateful word.
01:17:31 --> 01:17:35 What was it? Johnny Five, is that what he said? Johnny Five, I am alive.
01:17:37 --> 01:17:41 No disassemble. No disassemble. No disassemble.
01:17:42 --> 01:17:45 Buddies and robberlies, I think we can kind of leave it up in the air.
01:17:46 --> 01:17:48 Yeah. I think it's honestly we're about
01:17:48 --> 01:17:52 time it's probably time to go into some final thoughts on
01:17:52 --> 01:17:55 this yeah well I guess
01:17:55 --> 01:17:58 now that we've completed the life path we did two
01:17:58 --> 01:18:03 different versions of character creation uphand I think I know everybody's answer
01:18:03 --> 01:18:09 here but what do you think Chris I like it I definitely think somehow the like
01:18:09 --> 01:18:13 creating character from scratch without the life plan was much quicker but that's
01:18:13 --> 01:18:15 also because I did we didn't go into,
01:18:16 --> 01:18:19 all the like we we had a lot more there's
01:18:19 --> 01:18:22 a lot more backstory kind of built into your character with the
01:18:22 --> 01:18:28 life plant with the life path so there is that yeah but otherwise i think i
01:18:28 --> 01:18:34 think i i do like i think i like the the from scratch way better but there is
01:18:34 --> 01:18:38 definitely some fun with life path life path is a session zero for like the
01:18:38 --> 01:18:40 crew yeah if you're if you're all doing you
01:18:40 --> 01:18:45 all need to be doing it or like, or no one's doing it because it's,
01:18:45 --> 01:18:48 it's meant like the way, how long it took us to make a character with life path.
01:18:48 --> 01:18:49 It's basically a session zero.
01:18:50 --> 01:18:54 Yeah. Like, and, and they even, I think it even mentioned in some of the bits
01:18:54 --> 01:18:57 that like you're supposed to role play certain aspects of it.
01:18:57 --> 01:19:01 So it's even meant to be like in characters. sometimes. Yeah. Yeah.
01:19:01 --> 01:19:05 I think I really liked it. I mean, the other parts, well, it's good enough.
01:19:05 --> 01:19:09 If you were rolling up characters for a cinematic game or a session that was
01:19:09 --> 01:19:13 just like, you take care of this and it's over, the regular way is great.
01:19:13 --> 01:19:18 But if you wanted to, like, you know, take advantage of and actually creating
01:19:18 --> 01:19:21 your own setting or your own world or your own kind of storyline,
01:19:21 --> 01:19:25 I think as a GM, this would be a wonderful tool just to see.
01:19:25 --> 01:19:28 You have all these people at the table throwing up
01:19:28 --> 01:19:31 characters and then you've got a you can look
01:19:31 --> 01:19:34 at each one of them and draw inspiration so if i
01:19:34 --> 01:19:36 were the game mother the and
01:19:36 --> 01:19:40 our two characters were in that i would think that
01:19:40 --> 01:19:42 it i would like to play up
01:19:42 --> 01:19:46 certain aspects of it and then you
01:19:46 --> 01:19:48 may not even introduce like xenomorphs in the beginning it may
01:19:48 --> 01:19:51 be the day-to-day your one characters living
01:19:51 --> 01:19:55 in a frontier place where the sheriff
01:19:55 --> 01:19:59 or colonial marshal is just bad
01:19:59 --> 01:20:02 shit crazy so maybe your job is to kind
01:20:02 --> 01:20:06 of buffer and go between the android and all
01:20:06 --> 01:20:10 that and then eventually maybe at the end space pirates crash on the planet
01:20:10 --> 01:20:14 and release there's you can introduce the xenomorph or any of the other kind
01:20:14 --> 01:20:19 of critters that the book mentions there but i feel better i I know more about
01:20:19 --> 01:20:23 this character than I did the one that we went through the standard creation
01:20:23 --> 01:20:24 with, you know what I mean?
01:20:24 --> 01:20:28 Yeah. And that might also just be based off of like, cause like.
01:20:29 --> 01:20:32 I already like, like, I, I like kind of having like a little bit of openness
01:20:32 --> 01:20:35 and like, you can just come up with things on the fly, like during play.
01:20:35 --> 01:20:38 So that's like my own personal like choice on it. But like, again,
01:20:38 --> 01:20:41 I do see the merit of like for the life path when like we know this character,
01:20:41 --> 01:20:46 like Lloyd is this like officer who's like run through the ranks,
01:20:46 --> 01:20:48 had some, suffered some trauma, some trauma over the years.
01:20:49 --> 01:20:51 Is also probably stressed from
01:20:51 --> 01:20:54 his, from having to like live under his prestigious family of officers.
01:20:56 --> 01:21:00 So i i do it does give you a lot more to like work with right up the way right
01:21:00 --> 01:21:04 off the hop but like i do like the i do i think i'd prefer i'd rather be i think
01:21:04 --> 01:21:06 i'd probably play leanne jenkins.
01:21:07 --> 01:21:11 Before lilloyd yeah because i like i like because that was the character i made
01:21:11 --> 01:21:15 specifically like have like i put my own personal touches into it and my like
01:21:15 --> 01:21:19 i thoughts into it but that's just my own personal way of of making a character
01:21:19 --> 01:21:23 so i really like the irony that we basically reverse road was unintentionally,
01:21:23 --> 01:21:25 but the way that I spoke. Yep.
01:21:25 --> 01:21:30 If your players aren't married to one particular character concept from the
01:21:30 --> 01:21:35 get-go, the life choice, maybe it would be a great way to run that.
01:21:35 --> 01:21:43 And I mean, I know these are two totally unrelated games, but this entire process reminds me of,
01:21:43 --> 01:21:50 we've done Gorantha on RPX before and went through the character creation and
01:21:50 --> 01:21:52 it's got a very in-depth background.
01:21:53 --> 01:22:00 So this one's definitely not as loaded as that, but I wouldn't be against playing Lee or Leanne.
01:22:01 --> 01:22:04 I just, you know, I just didn't end up with the character I wanted to play.
01:22:05 --> 01:22:09 But then again, I kind of want to see them grow. I'm a little bit more invested in them.
01:22:10 --> 01:22:15 Yeah. Poor, poor, poor Leanne or poor Leanne, poor Leanne the android.
01:22:15 --> 01:22:18 He's just like He's suffered a lot. The Android.
01:22:19 --> 01:22:23 I mean, it just, like, look, I was a mining one. I did stuff.
01:22:23 --> 01:22:28 Probably, I would even say if I was a game master that this game is set on the
01:22:28 --> 01:22:29 planet where that, where that.
01:22:30 --> 01:22:34 Farm agrarian kind of test research thing is going on.
01:22:34 --> 01:22:37 It's like, or maybe that could be like an adventure, like these characters return
01:22:37 --> 01:22:42 to that research facility on that agrarian, maybe it's a decommissioned,
01:22:42 --> 01:22:45 it was supposed to be an agrarian world. And then like whatever happened in
01:22:45 --> 01:22:49 that research, basically the car, the corporation just like abandoned the planet.
01:22:49 --> 01:22:52 And now we have to go back. We're the only two at no.
01:22:53 --> 01:22:55 Yeah. And so now we have to, yeah, we, and we have to go back.
01:22:55 --> 01:23:00 Cause like something's there of value that like might give us like a good pay, like a, like might,
01:23:00 --> 01:23:04 help help like elevate our status and in the
01:23:04 --> 01:23:06 corpse or something i don't know it's a loyalty mission in
01:23:06 --> 01:23:09 mass effect too yeah exactly yeah yeah it's a loyalty
01:23:09 --> 01:23:12 mission yeah we're jack we're going back yeah oh
01:23:12 --> 01:23:15 my god you're right i was just about to do that quest
01:23:15 --> 01:23:18 actually the other day so it's a
01:23:18 --> 01:23:21 great you know i kind of uh
01:23:21 --> 01:23:24 final thoughts just finishing up here i i
01:23:24 --> 01:23:27 like the book i like the layout i think i've engaged with
01:23:27 --> 01:23:31 this one more than i had the original i
01:23:31 --> 01:23:34 like what i see i look forward to seeing it in play hopefully
01:23:34 --> 01:23:38 we can get around to running the game free league also provided us with the
01:23:38 --> 01:23:44 cinematic campaign but in general though i really like the way that this iteration
01:23:44 --> 01:23:49 of aliens it looks yeah it does it's not too different from the other ones that
01:23:49 --> 01:23:52 i have and And I don't feel like, I like this version.
01:23:52 --> 01:23:56 I like the fact that I can use the old stuff that I purchased,
01:23:56 --> 01:24:01 like Destroyer Worlds, and just slightly tweak it.
01:24:01 --> 01:24:06 There's a few other things that we didn't go into with this roll-up that has been made to the system.
01:24:06 --> 01:24:10 But it's just really what feels like a more polished one.
01:24:10 --> 01:24:14 And the life course. Like that.
01:24:15 --> 01:24:19 The live pass was great. Free League also provided me with the Rapture Protocol,
01:24:20 --> 01:24:22 which is their cinematic adventure that launched with this.
01:24:23 --> 01:24:31 And there is also, and with the Evolved Edition, there is the Alien RPG Evolved
01:24:31 --> 01:24:34 Edition starter set launched with it as well.
01:24:34 --> 01:24:40 And it's got the Hadley's Hope scenario. I don't know if this is the same as
01:24:40 --> 01:24:43 the other one. It was in the original Alien book.
01:24:45 --> 01:24:50 But like Hope's Last Day I think is what it's called I guess overall when I
01:24:50 --> 01:24:55 originally heard the creators of the game discussing that they're doing a new
01:24:55 --> 01:24:56 edition of Aliens I was like,
01:24:57 --> 01:25:02 Well, shit, this changes everything, but it doesn't. Ah, shit,
01:25:02 --> 01:25:04 here we go again. Here we go.
01:25:07 --> 01:25:11 Yeah, I mean, that's it. Anything else you'd like to say before we leave?
01:25:11 --> 01:25:17 No, again, it's... I know we make these characters in the hope that we play them someday.
01:25:17 --> 01:25:21 All I can say is this is another RPG that, now that I've looked at it and looked at the potential,
01:25:22 --> 01:25:26 there may be some one-shots in your future um of
01:25:26 --> 01:25:29 us just like using some homebrews of
01:25:29 --> 01:25:31 various aliens because like just even outside of like
01:25:31 --> 01:25:36 alien the the xenomorphs and stuff this i like how this has kind of the potential
01:25:36 --> 01:25:42 that you could use this for like a regular like any kind of like space like
01:25:42 --> 01:25:48 marine sort of like not space marine isn't like 40k but like halo space marine
01:25:48 --> 01:25:51 or like the colonial marines sort of situations So like, again,
01:25:51 --> 01:25:54 Helldivers or the Marines from Halo and what have you.
01:25:54 --> 01:25:59 So, and again, it's, it's, it's Vossen and I, it's, it's in the same,
01:25:59 --> 01:26:02 it's, it's a modified version of the same rules that the Vossen use.
01:26:02 --> 01:26:05 And I really liked, I really enjoyed that systems.
01:26:06 --> 01:26:10 Yeah, no, I'm, I'm excited to see how, if we're, we're Darrington,
01:26:10 --> 01:26:15 we're Lloyd Darrington and, or Leanne Jenkins end up.
01:26:16 --> 01:26:19 So yeah, I'm good. This was good. This is fun.
01:26:19 --> 01:26:23 Mm-hmm i look forward to it well i'd like to thank you for joining me with this
01:26:23 --> 01:26:27 it's i've had a good time i always enjoy rolling up characters with you and
01:26:27 --> 01:26:32 just spitballing ideas and that's this game is definitely proved to be fertile
01:26:32 --> 01:26:35 ground for both yes absolutely,
01:26:36 --> 01:26:40 so chris uh hear that you're a member of the crit in the night podcast network,

01:27:25 --> 01:27:29 It's sort of just a plethora of games that I've been recording and editing and
01:27:29 --> 01:27:34 posting since... Well, let's not go with how long I've been doing this, but...
01:27:35 --> 01:27:40 And if you want to hear me read and discuss creepypastas.
01:27:40 --> 01:27:44 There's al dente rigamortis, where I don a cloak and become the review cultist.
01:27:44 --> 01:27:53 And with me and some co-hosts, we read off-recording and then discuss the contents of, on-recording,
01:27:53 --> 01:27:59 various creepypastas, from Jeff the Killer to SCPs to Reddit No Sleep Stories
01:27:59 --> 01:28:00 and everything in between.
