[00:00:26] The One Less Die, a Doom Drop actual play podcast. We are playing my Lasers and Feelings hack that's trying to mimic Helldivers-esque kind of gameplay, but with the names filed off, so it's called Doom Drop. Yeah. Yeah. So I've got two players with me today, or two Doom Droppers with me today. Mmhmm. And yeah, I'll just do a little intro blurb for what Doom Drop is about.
[00:00:55] You are a Doom Dropper, the home world's greatest heroes. Go forth and ignite the fire that is Manage Democracy. No, sorry, hang on. That is Manifest Destiny amongst the stars and bring its light to the alien dark.
[00:01:12] So yeah, basically you guys go around in your large Super Destroyer-esque dreadnoughts to different worlds and perform missions against alien threats, or what the home world perceives as alien threats, for the sanctity of Manifest of Destiny. Hell yeah. Our players have already made their Doom Droppers, so yeah, why don't we go around the table and introduce them? As they pull out of cryopods, and definitely not just clones of each other.
[00:01:42] No, why would we do that? Not just clones among hundreds. So, yeah, as you're thawing out, Aaron, who is your Doom Dropper and what does he do? Hi Griffin. Hi Griffin. Peter! I'm in light armor. Cosmetically very similar to the light armor from the Entrenched Division Warbond.
[00:02:12] Looks more World War II-esque. World War I-esque, actually? Full disclosure, while this game has the names followed off, we will likely be using Helldivers lingo and stuff, because we're all very familiar with Helldivers. For convenience. Yeah. Also, so that if you guys want to know what we envision ourselves to look like, you can just Google it. Yeah, exactly. That makes it easier. Or wait until Chris does the art. Until you'll inevitably maybe do. It's faster if you just Google it.
[00:02:41] Yeah, that's true, that's true, that's true. My character specialty is Bannerman. Mm-hmm. He's got a big old flag spear. Oh, and I wear the knight helmet. TR-01, I think. Which one? It's the TR-01 knight. Oh, yes. The one that is called knight, not the one that looks like a knight's helmet. Yeah. Because there's the Superstore... One from Masters of Ceremony. Yes, that actually legit looks like a knight. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Yeah.
[00:03:11] I carry dynamite as my explosive. Of course you do. Of course. And, well, obviously Stimpact because everybody does that. And I'm armed with the amendment and the senator and the flag for... What's our flag called? The homeworld. It's called the homeworld? Well, the faction he has worked for is the Taimar Empire. So... So for Taimar, I guess. Yes. Mm-hmm.
[00:03:39] It's just like a giant stylized alien glyph tea. Or just like a giant stylized tea. Stylized. Not alien glyph. Yeah. Because aliens are heresy. But yeah. Yeah, you've all... You guys have also gotten your stratagems. Well, maybe change that name. But yeah, that's Griffin. Mm-hmm.
[00:04:09] We're gonna have to make sure that an alien chicken confronts you and you have to fight it for the entire game. Just a big old brawl as you're fighting across the battlefield. And then our other Doomdropper who's just coming out of Cryo. That's me. I'm Doomdropping. Doomdaver. And I realized after the fact, maybe I shouldn't be the medic. Maybe I should make my guy Doomguy-esque. Hence the name. Mm. Maybe I should. Because I do like using that look, honestly, a lot. You do you.
[00:04:39] Yeah, I do. I do do me. I said do do. Do do. But yeah, so I'm wearing heavy armor. In fact, that is now your name. Do do. No! No! Please no! The do do slayer. No! No, God, no! It's the do do day. Oh, no. Don't stop ruining me! But no.
[00:05:03] Yes, I'm wearing heavy armor, which is like the Viper Commando armor. The sun's out, guns out one. Yeah. Which is basically it's green heavy armor, shoulder pads, no actual sleeves on it with gauntlets and shit. Nice. Um. And yeah, I'm. I hate those two war bonds. Why? I love the armor.
[00:05:30] Cosmetically, the armors are so similar that I can't remember which one's which. You see, there's one that has the sun's out guns out. And then the other one is the one that has sun's out guns out, but they're smaller guns. They're lower caliber. Small caliber guns. One's Sylvester Stallone, the other one's all Schwarzenegger. Yeah, damn right. Uh, but yeah. Crowd controller now, I guess? Wait, what's your call sign?
[00:06:00] Uh, Doomdiver. Oh, Doomdiver. Yeah. Okay. And yeah, I got a, uh, a one-two, but instead, which is an assault rifle in Helldivers. But instead of the grenade launcher on the bottom, it has a shotgun. Because I like master keys. And there needs to be a master key in the game. There really should be. We have a, we have an SMG with a flamethrower undermount, but we don't, don't have a master key. Right? Yeah. Like. It's criminal. It's absolutely criminal. It's very undemocratic. Yes.
[00:06:28] I've never seen an actual gun with a flamethrower undermount. No. But master key is like the most common. Aside from the grenade launcher. No. Okay, I'll show up then. Master key is more common because it's legal for people to have. Mm-hmm. Whereas a grenade launcher, yeah, you can have it, but you can't legally buy the grenades. Mm-hmm. Yeah, that's true.
[00:06:54] So, so the, the, the master key is actually more common worldwide, though the grenade launcher is more common in pop culture. Gotcha. Also, I'm not gonna lie, every time you say master key, I think of renaming my guy to Master Keith. Oh my God! Come on, I gotta tell your, I gotta, I gotta be gunning for your. Yeah, no kidding, man. Like that. Um, alright, so do you remember? Yeah, yeah. Alright. So, I saw rifle, shotgun, um, I killed things.
[00:07:24] And I rolled well on my stratagem, so yay. Yeah. I'll probably have a machine gun or something. Cool. Alright, so yeah, as you guys are coming out of stasis, you report to the, to the observation or the main, like, command deck of the, of your shared dreadnought. Um, and that's where the controlled operations commissar is, or cock, um, or COC. Yeah, yeah. Um, and, uh, he is, uh, uh, he's there with, uh, next to the, uh, next to the, um, uh, the,
[00:07:52] the war map, basically, or the war map hollow. Um, even beyond that, like, beyond the observation deck of, like, of this, or the command deck, you can see out beyond the glass, or the, the, the, uh, yeah, glass, or space glass. Splass. Splass. Out beyond the splash. There's, uh, there's an arctic oceanic world in front of, uh, below you, uh, and there are various other dreadnoughts in orbit firing down doom droppers and also, like, letting down,
[00:08:22] um, other, like, armaments and such. And it's like, uh, doom droppers, we have a mission. The elucidate, those swarthy aliens from beyond our home, our home dimension. I'm sorry. Hmm? You said swarthy and I immediately thought, oh, they must be Italian! Yes! God damn it! Now I'm picturing illuminates like squids with, with, with, with, with an Italian mustache.
[00:08:51] It's like, uh, you don't know that they're not. Um, uh, but yeah, uh, the elucidate have, uh, have taken control of, uh, of this, this, this world, this ice ball of the planet. Um, and they are, they have set up a, a, a comms relay, a massive comms tower, uh, to, to, um, uh, probably just likely to call back to their home dimension and also to spread the lies that they, they try to spread as truth about our home world.
[00:09:20] We can't have that. So it's up to your, it's up to you to manifest your destiny and get down there and disrupt those alien comms. And, uh, yeah, that's basically the mission. Go down, or drop, you'll, you'll be dropping down on a, basically like a, uh, a large ice sheet or like a large, a large piece of, a large, like miles long or kilometers long
[00:09:44] ice shelf, um, near, near an ocean, like near an ocean coastal area, uh, and just destroy the, uh, the alien tower of the elucidate. Is this planet Canada, sir? Uh, I don't know what Canada is, so. Fair enough. Sounds like, uh, sounds like alien. I really feel like I should have worn either the Arctic Ranger armor or the, uh, the Canadian armor. I mean, we haven't dropped yet. You're more than welcome to change. We're still in the dreadnought.
[00:10:15] Wink. You're still in the space dreadnought. As I look down at my, like, my green, like, uh, uh, woodland camouflage. Wow. Why was that so hard to find? I am also in OD green. Feel free to alter your, you, you, you, alter your terrain camouflage as needed before, before the mission. Mhmm. Okay. So I'm going to change mine to white. Cool. I'm leaving mine the same because I have to look like the Doom guy. All right, sure.
[00:10:44] I'll change my pants, but the armor pieces are still OD green. Yeah. Um, also, unlike, uh, unlike, uh, Helldivers, this game you could, uh, bring down an FE, an FEB, a, uh, or an FRB, a fast recon boat. Hell yeah. Since you are on Ocean World. Nice. Um, what would we, what would we be rolling for boating? Uh, probably drop. That'd be a drop thing? Yeah, it should be a drop. Okay.
[00:11:13] Um, unless you're, unless you're using the boat, like, to like attack, like, unless you're using it aggressively against somebody or like doing something brash with it, then you can go and do. Yes. Okay. Um, so yeah, uh, you guys get digitized into your, uh, into your Doom pods and then just dropped. Um, and then the, uh, you kind of have like some interfaces of showing like, like the terrain as you're coming down on it. It's very cinematic. I was saying.
[00:11:37] I'd like to point out that our, uh, our launch system, um, our pods, uh, go into a giant steel cylinder. I was going to suggest that. Oh, on the outside of the ship. We get loaded into them. Uh, and the, the cylinder revolves. Yes. And fires us. Yes. Does the ship aim, like physically aim down to fire us or does it just shoot at the bottom?
[00:12:04] Uh, I feel like, no, it, it, like the gun, the armaments, it moves all, like there's an armature that pulls it away from the ship and then like brings it down. Like it, so it's like a gun that holds it. There's an arm that comes down. And there's an armature on the other side, like comes over to hold down the armature. I love that. Now I picture. I love it solely for the fact that this fucking dude, the dreadnought will have grappler arms. Yes. Um, arms on spaceships. Yes.
[00:12:33] Now I'm picturing the, uh, the grappler arms on the spaceship to be like the, uh, the arm arm on Trogdor. Yeah. Big feet of metal arms. Big feet of metal arms. Oh man. I have a question. Yes. Can we choose the handedness of our, of our dreadnoughts? Left hand. It's always left handed. No, for you guys it's obviously left handed. Yes. So it'd be like. As you're trying to think about how to hold a gun in your hand.
[00:13:03] Right? Yes. Yeah. So you know, the ship stays like it's, it's regular, like it's staying in geosecretous order. But then like the arms like kind of come out and just like, put like A down. I love the unnecessary support arm. It's advanced technology. You are one of the most advanced, you are the most advanced civilization in space. Um, the home world spared no expense when it, when, when it came to conquering other, other worlds.
[00:13:33] I love this so much. All right. So you guys are fired down like bang, bang. I like that you can pantomime that. You just recoil. Yeah, of course there is. Uh, you guys are like, I imagine, I also imagine like the, the ship, the pods themselves digitize you guys into like a crystal inside like the core of it. And then when it hit makes impact that crystal shatters and re materializes you. Right? Yes.
[00:13:59] Um, so yeah, as soon as you guys like you're down there, like on the way down, like you're, you can have some interface of like some control of where you're going, but like otherwise it's pretty fast. Yes. Um, and uh, yeah, you, uh, you hit the ice shelf, um, with a, uh, with a crackling splash and you're drowning. You're drowning. Yeah. Doom droppers can't swim. Oh shit. You're right.
[00:14:25] Uh, no, you, you, you hit the, like the snow and ice with like a hard, with a hard crackling splash as your, um, your doom pod of like shatters on the pieces and then you re materialize, um, in its place. And, uh, yeah, you, you see like around you, like, it's just like this kind of like, uh, vast tundra like environment. Um, you can see off in the distance, uh, a, a, uh, just like kind of a sliver of a, of
[00:14:52] a, of a spire that's, um, illuminating something into the sky. Hey, we've got an ocean view, right? Yeah. There's like a few clicks to the, off to your side. There's like the coast. We got time. Do you want to have a beach day episode? I mean, the weather's great, right bud? Like, damn. I should have put some frigging shorts on. You guys start going that way. It's like, oh, doom droppers. You're, you're leaving the battle. Oh crap.
[00:15:21] You have five seconds to get back in the game. You can get back in the fight. Uh, okay. Um, now, do I deploy with my, uh, uh, with my flag or do I have to use a strategy for that? Um, I think your question, are you asking for how it works in game? Yeah. In, in hells, how would that be? He would need to call it. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. It's too good to bring with you. So you have to spend, you have to spend a, uh, a strategy. Okay.
[00:15:48] Then I'm going to use two stratagems because I also want my jet pack. That's fair. So I can be a proper, uh, wing lancer. Hell yeah. All right. Yeah. Within moments, um, two more. Because wing dropper is just not good. Yeah. Yeah. In two more, uh, yeah, two more, in a few moments, two pods, uh, two extra pods, like drop down, uh, near, near you guys. Uh, roll drop to, uh, not get splatted by your own. Wow. I'm kidding. I'm rude.
[00:16:18] Hey, I've done, I've gotten killed so many times by my own stratagems. Yeah. Yeah. Uh, yeah, no, uh, you're fine. You know, they dropped down, you have them now. Cool. Is there anything you would like to deploy, Dave? Uh, yeah, I'll deploy, uh, so you have spear, so you're primarily melee. Uh, I'll grab a, what do I have, that, then, I'll grab a minigun? And that's about it, actually, because that'll be a backpack as well. So, yeah, I'll call that a minigun. All right.
[00:16:48] Uh, I will, so I will give you guys a, uh, so. Oh, question. How far away from the objective? You're several clicks. So, uh, basically several encounters away. Okay. And also an FRB. Okay. Because we're near the water, right? Yeah. Uh, actually this would be an FRS and, uh, a, a, a fast response skid, uh, a skid. So basically like a CD or a skid, uh, skid. Oh, okay. Sure. Basically like a snow, a snow equivalent of like the vehicle. I guess it's just an FRB. Just like made for this, for the winterized, like winterized. Yeah. It's an FRB with chains on the tires. Yeah.
[00:17:18] Yes, exactly. Yeah. Or just, or just treads on the back. That's what he said. Oh, is that? Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Just on the back or both? Like the whole thing is treaded. I mean, what do you want? Yeah. It could be a hover. It could be a hover. It could be your strategy. That's true. I'm calling it in. It could literally just be a hover vehicle. No. No. It's a Ford Focus that somebody put those fucking tracks on. Oh, man.
[00:17:47] We spared no expense. They spent too much money on the arms. On the arms. Everything else is crappy. It just looks so cool. Yeah. Yeah. But no, standard FRB is fine. Okay. Yeah. You call it that. Not the, you can't call it the eagle one. The, or whatever drops, brings FRBs out. It's the eagle, right? Yeah. No, that's the pelican. Yeah.
[00:18:14] So we, it's going to be called like, the stork shows up. Yes. That's great. It's baby. That's very good. The stork comes over, it's on like, it's on like a platform so it kind of looks like a little bindle. Mm-hmm. And then it just like dislodges a few feet off the ground, just like, boom. Nice. Crushing you. Yeah, of course. We have to roll for everything.
[00:18:42] But yeah, then yeah, you have your FRB. Mm-hmm. Yeah, the only other option I would have said for bringing in vehicles like that would be like a space Chinook. Oh, yeah. Mm-hmm. Like in the, in space it has like thrust and stuff but when it hits, as soon as it hits Atmo it just like suddenly gets like a helicopter. It turns into a helicopter. Yeah. Or it has like VTOL aspects to it. Yeah. That's actually pretty safe. Mm-hmm. So, here's the thing about vehicles in this game.
[00:19:08] When a vehicle or mech is called down, Doom Dropers within are mostly safe as enemies must destroy the vehicle first. Unless someone is on the turret, they're pretty much free game. So if you're on the turret of the FRB, enemies can still get you. Yeah. But anybody inside the FRB, the enemies have to go through the actual vehicle, vehicle's harm box first. Okay.
[00:19:34] The vehicle does have a harm box, similar to you guys, but it takes more like heavy damage to take it out. And then once the, once that one harm box is gone, then the next shot will basically destroy the vehicle and you guys have to roll a drop, make a drop roll to get out of the vehicle before it explodes. Yes. Or join the vehicle in death. Yes. We should have brought a Honey Badger class battle tank.
[00:20:04] I'm sorry? Well, because then the gunner could actually sit in the tank. Yeah. I will also say, whoever's on the turret, if you fail, you have a chance of killing somebody who just happened to poke their head out of the vehicle window. Well, there's only two of us and I don't really think the driver's going to hold his head. So I will say, I will say that the failure, the failure just, just, um, is fine. Yeah. Yeah. I just decide to just aim out with my gun while trying to drive.
[00:20:31] Or, or no, the, for some reason the engine used the turret so it's like, whoo, like goes, go say that. Yeah. You say that. Yeah. But you can do that with the flamethrower. All right. Then yeah. Yeah. Plus anyone sitting in the passenger seat, if they have like a sword or something and they swing with it, they swing this way and it goes through it and decapitates me. You know what? The failure thing sticks. And if you, if you fail, whoever, I don't know whoever's driving, whoever's going to be on the turret, but whoever's on the turret, if they fail, driver has to roll a,
[00:21:01] uh, roll a drop to survive. If they don't, like suddenly the vehicle stops moving. Yeah. And then somebody needs to be called in. Absolutely. Absolutely. Oh man. All right. So yeah. Uh, that's basically how vehicles would do that. Okay. Um, so yeah. Uh, yeah, you've got, you, who's driving, who's on the turret? I'll probably drive. I tend to drive the FRV. All right. You don't have to get in the turret. You can get in the passenger seat if you're scared. Uh.
[00:21:29] If push comes to shove, you could do something sick and like crawl out and get on the machine gun or jump jet out. Oh. I could lean out the door with a lance. Yeah, you could. Yes. Damn right you could. Okay. All right. I'm in the, I'm in the car. Uh, all right. So you guys are, are trekking down, um, like through the snow. Like again, there's like ridges and there's like, um, there's like hills and stuff like that. And you can hear like the, the sounds of fighting and battle across this, this glacial.
[00:21:58] Did we see any of it? Yeah. You can see like smoke and you see like, you can hear gunfire and you can see some like flashes off in the distance and such. Okay. And that's other doom droppers? Are there other doom droppers here? Yeah. Like clicks away. Like not, not in this exact battlefield. Okay. Like you, your, your assignment, you're getting, you guys are the ones that are tasked with taking up this, this comms tower. Okay. Other people will have other assignments that are in other radiuses that we can't get to because they'll kill us if we try. Or they're in other like locations, like they're in other locations around the planet.
[00:22:27] Part of why we're here because the comms tower means that they keep getting reinforcements which fucking over all the other doom droppers. Exactly. So we're, we're going to make their lives, you know, last longer. Hell yeah. Exactly. Um, but yeah, so you guys start trekking around and, uh, uh, you guys, uh, as you're traveling, um, maybe a drop roll to, uh, to, to see something. I'm curious. Okay. So how many dice do we get for this? So for this one, it would just be a one, a one die six.
[00:22:54] Cause, um, like unless you, unless you have a specialty that would be like make you sharp eyed. Uh, no, I'm a vannerman, but light armor does give me a plus one to drop. So you get an extra one D six on your drop. Yeah. I guess. So you just roll a second one. Yeah. Just roll two, then you roll two die six. Yeah. Three six. We'll just say that your light armor gives you like some kind of like, uh, advantage at like seeing, you can see over the paltrons. Okay. So, so drop, I need to roll over.
[00:23:23] I need to beat my doom drop number. I have to go over. So. For drop. For doom, you're rolling, uh, you're rolling under. For drop, you're rolling on your. My roll has to be over my doom drop score. Yes. Yeah. For doom, you're rolling under. For, uh, for drop, you're rolling over. Yes. Under doom over drop. Yes. Okay. So I rolled over. Okay. So I succeeded. All right. I got one. Okay. Do multiple successes.
[00:23:53] For this one, it's just, you just need one success. I meant in general. In general, like, yeah, there's things like, there are like, so actually there are some, uh, some, a bunch of stuff actually. So yeah. How many, how many successes did you get? One. Just one. Just one. Okay. I'm just asking for future use. Yeah. Do multiple successes make the success better? Yes. Or are multiple, are rolling multiple die just better chances? No, you, the more dice you succeed on, the better your chance of like, succeeding like without any kind of issue. So, yeah. Okay. So, so you succeeded. Yes.
[00:24:22] I got a critical succeed. Okay. What does that mean? Uh, is that like, is that a tie? Okay. So you could ask a, a question of some kind, um, some examples of questions of good questions to ask in, in, on the battlefield are, uh, what should I be able to look out for? What would Dave Doomedropper do? Uh, does this need to be on fire? Uh, what would Dave, Dave Doomedropper do? I could just turn and ask him, but no, I'm not Dave. You're Doomdaver. Yeah.
[00:24:52] I'm Doomdaver. I'm not. Dave Doomedropper. Dave Doomedropper is very different. He's legendary. He's, he's the, he's the best Doomedropper ever. My daddy named me Dave based on Dave Doomedropper. Uh, yeah. So with your, was there your, um, well, Dave Doomedropper would be on the lookout for the, on the horizon and, hey, is that a, is that a, uh, forward, um, hang on, is that, is that a forward armory cache? I.e. a buddy bunker from Helldivers. Mm-hmm.
[00:25:21] So basically, um, occasionally, like when, when, uh, a new theater of war opens up for the, uh, the, for the Timar Empire in the home world, uh, they will send forward ahead of time, um, specialized armory caches. Uh, and those, these caches usually have some kind of like, uh, some kind of extra armor or gear or weapons, or even sometimes like, uh, Timar credits for like, use later on. Are those superb credits? Yes. Superb credits. Yes, exactly.
[00:25:51] By the way, Aaron, do you want a counting die for your stratagems? Uh, no, I'm good. I got one today. Yeah. I meant for specifically counting and remembering what number you're on. Well, if you want to use one of those, that's fine. I got one. Okay. I'm just saying, cause like I printed these a while ago that like, they just count up and down. No. I specifically made it just for that purpose. If you want to just, oh, just use one of your cool dies. Yeah. Yeah. So you guys see like, there's a large crater and then at the bottom of the crater, there's
[00:26:21] just this like large kind of bunker-esque, um, structure. Oh, hey look, a bunker. Neat. Those are for friends. It's a friend bunker. It's a friend, it's friendship. Yeah. I don't think buddy bunker is a, is a hell divers term. I think that's a hell divers community term. Oh, absolutely. I don't know what the hell they call it for realsies. Yeah. Probably just a bunker. Yeah. Just a bunker, but yeah. Yeah. But you know, in the game I just called it like a forward arm reach cache.
[00:26:51] Mm. Cause that's basically what they were. Yep. Oh yes, there's a cache there. No, it's a faq. It's a faq. Faq! Over there! Oh, faq! Holy faq! Yes, exactly. Yes. Hey cock, do you see this faq over here? That's the COC of course. Of course, yeah. The Council of War Cartographers. The Council of War Cartographers. Or your Controlled Operations Commissar. Yes. Yes, I had a lot of fun with like... Wow, he's cock cock.
[00:27:21] Yeah, no. No, no, there's cock and there's cock. They're different. They are different. One has a silent W. Yeah. The Council of War Cartographers, but the W is silent. Yeah. Oh no, it's not silent cause it still says cock. Yeah. C-A-W-C. Yeah. Cock. Yeah. They sound the same, but they're spelled different. Hey cock, could you go tell the cock to cock the... What is it? The... The faq? What? You guys can just activate them when you get down there.
[00:27:51] Like... You're Doom Dropers. Sorry. The Splass. What's the Splass? Oh, so go flip the face glass. The face glass from the observation deck. On the command set, on the command deck. I don't know what you mean. We need some fresh cock in the Splass. Oh. Like actual caulking. Yeah. So go the cock to tell the cock to cock the Splass. The Splass, yes. I haven't heard it as Splass before. We called... I just called it Splass earlier. I was not paying attention. Or you have the memory of a goldfish. Who are you? Yeah.
[00:28:22] Alright, so yeah. You guys have to get out of your... Unless you want to like pass this cachet back a box. Hell no! There could be superb credits in there. Okay. Yeah. And superb credits are superb. Hell yeah. Okay. Alright. So I aggressively drive up there, pull the handbrake and spin it to the side. Sorry, did you say the handbrake? Handbrake. Handbrake. No, handbrake. It's a hand bone. Yeah. Hands. It's a bone in ham. Alright, roll drop. To see if I don't flip it. Yeah, exactly.
[00:28:51] You can do this my friend. Can I? Manifest your destiny. Drop. Can I encourage him? That's true. He's like a morale boosting guy. There is a helping thing here. If you want to help a teammate who's rolling, say how you try to help them and make a roll. If you succeed, give them an extra die six. Okay. So you have to roll. So you have to roll. Question. Can he help but also use his class to assist with the helping even more? So you're rolling a die six plus your specialty, which is your...
[00:29:20] So it makes it easier for you to help. Yeah. Because you're rolling two. And I need to roll over because it's dropped? Yes. Great. That's two successes and one of them is a crit. Critically so. I'm going to say, so critical successes, basically you can ask a question but you don't have to. A tie just means a success, generally. Okay. Well... If it's not appropriate, you don't have to ask a question.
[00:29:50] So I use my critical success to take a look around and see if there's any enemies nearby, like any enemy patrols or anything? You don't see anything nearby but you do hear some kind of emotions in the direction of the tower, like over the ledge of the crater. So probably in the next... Like very... You can get a... Maybe an advantage on the next roll, on the next encounter. Okay. Okay. But you also get another die six.
[00:30:19] So I get one die six additional. Yeah. Because he's being a morale booster. Yes. Actually, I guess technically you'd be a better driver because... No, do you have a bonus to drop? Yeah, because you're light armor. Yeah. So you'd be rolling two all the time. Yeah, you're just this bull. You're like, alright, I got this. I got this, don't worry. So I'm rolling over? You were trying to roll over drop, yeah. Okay. I tied. That's... So that's good. Yeah, yeah. Cool. Okay. So yeah, we do the cool power slide.
[00:30:47] I'm assuming because you're helping me, you stand outside with the door open, like holding the flag out. Yeah. It's so majestic. You mount it in front and hold onto it. Like you puncture into the hood and don't just damage the engine. Puncture into the engine. No, no, no, no. There's a special like spot on the hood next to the hood. Oh, our... We just slot in. The hood of it has a frog. Yes. It's called a frog? Yeah, yeah.
[00:31:17] It's called a frog when you're wearing it on your person. Yeah. Oh, okay. I'd be like if you... Does our ship have a holster for its giant revolver? Oh my God. Yeah, it's right next to the hanger. It's at the back? Yeah. So it has to like rotate it all the way up? It's basically like a hanger bait attachment. That's ridiculous. No, it's not like it's in there and just goes out and down. It's like it goes like this.
[00:31:45] It rotates it up and then down. I originally saw it as like one of the armatures has the gun like attached. But now I think it's way... This was supposed to be a serious game. And this went right off the rails. This is a Dat World game. Kind of, yeah. This is a Dat World in space. Let's be honest. A little bit. But yeah, like yeah, the... The... The Doom Tromper.
[00:32:10] I think we're just proving the versatility of this system that it can be like so fucking retarded. Yes. But also, be very serious. Yeah, of course. Yeah. But yeah, I do like the idea. Because then I imagine like they pulled the gun and then like once you guys get digitized into the drop pods, like the other hand has to grab the gun. It single loads us. So like the ship...
[00:32:35] So the ship is like this and then it's the arms back here with the gun. The gun arm comes down. I'm pantomiming this with pencils and shit. And then the other arm is over here that deploys and like grabs shells and loads them in. Loads them in. And then supports the arm and like aims down. And you... Love that. And that's the AI of the Dreadnought. Cal. Yeah, Cal. The AI of the Dreadnought is Cal. It's like right here.
[00:33:05] Oh my God. Oh my God. And now it makes... Okay, so I would like to form an amendment to this game. Okay. That's a good gun. It is. And that's what I'm actually carrying. Yes. I think... I think the group should have a... When you roll for stratagems to find out how many you have. Yeah. Whoever is highest, you take that number.
[00:33:33] But that is the group's pool of stratagems. Or... Hold on. Stay with me here. Because it makes sense because it's a six shooter. That's how many stratagems they've loaded. Oh. That's really... I like that. Which is why you would have to wait. Yeah. Afterwards. Because it has to... Because it has to reload. Very slowly. Like... Hang on.
[00:34:04] Like from the hangar bag. Yeah. God. This is the stupid... Okay. In Helldivers... Sorry to keep diverting from this. In Helldivers, every player that joins, there's their own super destroyer in the sky that does their call-ins for them. Yeah. In this setting, are we all on one... Dreadnought. Dreadnought. Yeah. Or do we have our own separate dreadnoughts? Yeah, you guys have your own shared dreadnoughts. Like you have like... You have packs of dreadnoughts. Okay.
[00:34:31] So we all convene on one dreadnought to decide where to go and then one dreadnought shoots us down. Yeah. And then the other ones are there for support. Yeah. Or should we just say... Although I do like the idea of like, if you're on a squad, like your squad is in one dreadnought. Yeah. And there are other dreadnoughts in orbit, but they're like on other theaters of war. There are other squads, yeah. It makes more sense, honestly. Yeah. To have it as one. Yeah, I like that. Mm-hmm. And again, that adds to like, hang out...
[00:35:01] So, okay. If it's all on one, should it just you always have six stratagems, but they're the team stratagems? Actually, yeah, I don't hate that. Because it's a six shooter. Yeah. And then that means that everybody can call in one support thing and then there's still two left over. Yep. Yeah, I will definitely... I will take this into account. Like, I will definitely consider this, like, moving forward. Yeah. And that would encourage... You would get to that situation where you have to do the...
[00:35:30] The reload for it more often because, as it is, if... Like, what'd you roll for yours? Four. I rolled six. Yeah. So, like, we could get through this entire fight without calling all these in and ever doing the whole mechanic of, Cal, we need a reload, you know, kind of deal. Yeah, I like that, yeah. Hmm. Okay. So you tell us, which one do you want to do in this game? For this game, let's stick with what we have, but I'm gonna move... Okay. I will, like, put that into account for the next, like, iteration. Gotcha. Um, or even make that, like, an option.
[00:36:00] So, yeah. Um, alright, so yeah, you, uh, you guys get down to the, um, after doing this cool stylized, like, swerve over and some of that, you guys pop out of the FRB and head over to you. Of course, Aaron, did you, uh, Akira slide out of it? Like, after the, like, while it's still sliding, you just walk out? Walk out. Yeah. Like, like, ooh. You pop the door open and just kinda hop out and just walk. Yeah. Yeah. And yeah, you're in front of the... March? The, uh, the entrance with the flag. Yes.
[00:36:29] Dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun. That's the only way we do it. That's the official way? That is the official, yeah. Yeah. Like, back at home when they're doing parades, everyone is doing that. It's the swagger march. It's the swagger march. Yeah. And our marching band, that's what they play. Dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun. Yeah. All right, so you guys get to the, uh, the entryway of this thing and it's, it's a big bulwark thing. There's two buttons on either side, like, that need to be activated by two... There's one on either side. Sorry, one on either side. Yes.
[00:36:59] Um, they need to be activated at the same time. So you guys, like, one, two, three, both and press, like, pshhh... Yep. Opens up. Uh, I present myself to be hit for luck. Well... I'll kick him in the junk. No! Uh, I specifically have a very powerful cup just for this ritual. It has that, uh, what is that, um, reactive armor. He has a reactive armor. You kick him in the balls and he explodes. Yeah.
[00:37:30] Uh, and yeah, you find a, uh, you find a, um, uh, a flamer pack, basically like a flamethrower, like, a flamer, uh, very, like, streamlined flamethrower pack. Question, is it the, is it an all-in-one one or a backpack unit? It's a backpack unit. Okay. Like, you have to, like, put the backpack on and you have it, but then, like, once you re-recharge it, you need to, like, pop off, like, back it or, or have a friend, like, immediately grab it and put it back, like, put it in a new fuel tank. Okay, so it's not corded to it. No. Okay. Um.
[00:37:59] So it's realistically how the actual flamethrower should be, the standard one? Yeah. Cause, like, you take the, the canister out, but you don't have a spot to have a canister, realistically. But yeah, okay. And then also there is, um, there's about, there's, I don't, there is a, a supreme credit unit. Oh! Nani! Basically, yeah, enough to, like, like, oh, like, basically, like, give you guys some kind of, like, advantage, like, either on your ship or something. So, actually, should that be, like, a refresh? Mm.
[00:38:28] Like, supreme, like, for this game? Like, that's gonna be, like, passes a refresh? Yeah, you need some more credits for, uh, refreshes? To, to, to purchase, uh, more stratagems in missions? Or to guarantee a refresh versus a, uh, versus having to roll for it. Or should it be something that you would spend after the mission for progression? Is there progression? There's no progression. Okay. This is a one-shot game. Yeah, so it's supposed to be, like, a pick-up-and-play, like, just, there's no real, like, campaign format for this game. So. Okay. Yeah. But you got supreme, yeah, you got some supreme, you got supreme coins. Yes.
[00:38:58] They're orange as well, I imagine. Yeah, of course, yeah. Mm-hmm. Um, or supreme tickets. Actually, it's... It's like a fucking carnival ride, you get, like, like, supreme tickets and, like, get a gift, get, like, a, uh, go to the, uh, gift shop and put in your tickets. Wow. And to Cal back on the... Yeah, but you have to play the claw game to get it. Oh my god. And it's totally not rigged. Oh my god.
[00:39:25] It's like Stradium Hero on the, on the Super Destroyer. It's just a giant claw machine. Mm-hmm. But it's like, but like, it's designed, I don't know, I like how we bring so much more into this. We were barely playing the game. I know. There's just like, it put like, it's kind of like a cartoony version of the Gritman, but with like giant claw arms that you like control to like wrap things. Oh, that's awesome. Anyway, yeah, so you got the supreme weapon and you have a flavor, so you guys have like, you guys could use that at some point. So we can take that with us without sacrificing anything? Yeah. Okay, cool. Yeah, you can just store it into... Okay.
[00:39:54] Okay, this is slightly different from how that is, that like, hey, you can actually store it. You have an FRV, there's definitely room to store it in there. That's true. Yeah, yeah. Just throw it in the back seat. What do you have as a backpack? Minigun. Mmm. Bunch of ammo. Lot of bullets. Did you spend a strategy on that? Yes, I did. I had called down the FRV and a minigun. Okay. All right, so then you guys continue tracking on because there's nothing else of value in the crater. Let's see what the next encounter is. Okay.
[00:40:23] You guys like launch off the ridge of the crater and continue going down through the winding snow dunes and ridges of this landscape. Um, and uh, very quickly, like, uh, like with it, again, you're getting closer. It's getting the, the tower is getting better. You can see a little more detail. It's definitely like alien in origin, sort of like a, a weird, like stone, like, like
[00:40:50] smooth, organic, like, uh, like design, but it's made of like some kind of like stone with runes and stuff on it. And it's definitely creating some kind of an energy field around it and like up into the sky, like almost like a sky beam. Um, and there's some kind of like swirling disturbance in the sky above it. It's always sky beams. Yeah. Always. Um, but before that, um, like that's often the distance that you guys still have a little ways to go. Uh, however, you guys do quickly pick up on your radar on the FRV or in your own personal way on your little thing here.
[00:41:20] You guys pick up like a ping and there is a large, it seems like a large group of, of, of something is approaching. Um, but they have not like caught wind of you yet. We don't know what this thing is though. Uh, it's just, no, it's big. You guys can roll a drop to see if you know what, if you can like spot them. Do we have, you said I'd get advantage on my next one. Yes. So you get an advantage on that. I'll tell you, like you can just see it. Like I'll let you see it. Yeah. Why'd you get advantage? Cause your super succeed?
[00:41:49] Uh, because I super succeeded last time and I was looking for any patrols. Hmm. And he said that I didn't see any, but I could hear them so I could have advantage on my next one. Oh, okay. Yeah. So, um, you're, you're traveling and stuff and then you, you guys, uh, you, you hear it actually more before you see it. Uh, as it, as something comes out, it comes to the view from around a ridge. Uh, and it is, it's not quite a tripod, like the aluminum tripod, but it is. It's a bipod.
[00:42:17] It is, it is, yes, it is a monopod. How dumb do you want this to be? It's a, it's a poker, uh, I don't want it to be stupid, stupid. Oh, okay. Hold on though a second. Wait, say your brain. I can make this dumber. Okay. Well, no, not dumber. Like there is, um, uh, mythological, uh, uh, precedent here. Mm-hmm.
[00:42:46] Um, in the Celtic Pantheon. Oh yeah, the, uh, what, the falchion or something? The, the, uh, the Swayzos from like, from Monster Ranger. They're, they're, um, they're Cyclopses. They're giants. But because they're missing. But they have one leg and one arm. And one ear. But they are ridiculously tough. Yeah. Like, and fast and badass fighters. Somehow, with one leg and one arm. Wow.
[00:43:14] Um, but those fuckers will fuck you up. Hmm. Yeah. So, we, we say monopod and joking and making fun of. But. Logically, they're a thing. And they would fuck you up. Yeah. And actually, yeah. So you do see something like that. It's like a very large, it's got like kind of a bulbous head. Um, it's got a vertical mouth. Um, like a vertical jaw kind of thing.
[00:43:41] Uh, and it's got like a singular ocular, like large glowing ocular like eye. Um, and uh, and it's got this like multi-jointed, uh, like, like lit, like leg. Like, that it jumps up, like jumps across the field, like the battlefield on. Um, and it looks like that glowing eye is like emanating energy. So it could like maybe like blow up, like shoot a beam at from it. Okay.
[00:44:04] And trailing this thing is a squad of humans who are not wearing, like they, they, they look like they are like, like the only humans you guys are aware of are humans from the home world. Yeah. But you've also heard of people who are alien sympathizers. Disgusting. I hear tips. And these people are wearing, like they've got like weird organic collars on their head. Oh, no. Yeah. They're wearing like weird, like, like, like neck collars, like kind of like tech, like
[00:44:34] organic collars, but they don't seem like oppressed. They seem happy to be there and like almost in awe of like the large, this large unit. It's going to be mind control. Obviously. Um, so. Who in their right mind would want to follow that thing? Yeah. Everyone in their right mind. That's why we're in our left mind. Hell yeah. Oh, wrong. Left hand fist bump. So, um, yeah, what do you guys want to do? You guys, uh, I've got like, you've encountered a roving enemy force.
[00:45:04] Um, but they are not aware of you yet. I have a question. Yes. In this world, is this a normal unit that we are aware of? Or is this an anomaly? The, the giant monopod. You're aware of this one. I'm actually going to call it, um, verify that, like, a fachin. Or a fachin, I think is what it's called. Spell it? F-A-C-H-A-N. F-A-C-H-A-N. The fachin, yeah. The fachin, yeah. This motherfachin. You see this fachin guy? This fachin guy. This fachin guy. Hey cock, you see this fachin guy?
[00:45:34] But you guys are aware of what a fachin unit of the elucidate is, is essentially a, what's known as a heavy unit or a one hit killer. Love that. So like, one shot from this thing's ocular beam, um, will, will, will take out like a chunk of your ship, or of your, your vehicle, or just vaporize you guys. Question. Heavy armor, does that still vaporize me? No, but it will knock out one of your, uh, it will basically take out your, your one harm box and the next shot will kill you.
[00:46:04] Okay. You're basically on par with the tank. So basically what it does is it does two, two harm is what it does. Yeah. Because normally things do one harm that leave you almost dead and then you take any more harm you're dead. Yeah. So I have two harm boxes and one bleed out box. Yeah. Okay. Yep. So, but again, these, the, the fachin hasn't seen you in like the, the, uh, I think they're called, I think we actually, uh, I did give them a name.
[00:46:29] The, I think they're called, uh, Quislings is what the, is what, uh, what the home world calls, uh, alien sympathizers of the elucidates specifically. Um, because they basically have betrayed the home world and humanity, um, to, to join the, the propaganda of truth that the elucidate are, are claiming to, uh, broadcast. Heresy. Yes. So, um, yeah, what do you guys want to do? Okay. I just want to see you yet.
[00:46:59] Why'd you have to do it with our eye grab? Yeah. There's like various ridges and so that, like you can, you wouldn't get all the way up to its head, but you can get up to like, like basically like its knees. And I say knees plural because it has multiple joints in the leg. Yes. Question. Do we know that these have, uh, shields or not? Um, they do have some kind of like psychic, uh, like, psychic like propulsion field. Okay. You have to get in really close to actually like do damage.
[00:47:27] I'm assuming it's a, I'm assuming it's a high speed deflection shield. Like you could walk through it. Exactly. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Just clarify. And even though. This might be different. Yeah. So you can mount it. Yes. You could, you can, you can climb the Colossus and then like plant something and then drop off of it if you want to. That's the plan. But you do run the risk in the climb of getting crushed between like some of the joints. Cause again, it has multiple joints and it can always just like close those joints
[00:47:54] like that, like, like, like, like how you would like an elbow or a knee and just crush somebody inside that like cavity there. Mm-hmm. But that's definitely something you could do. You could try. Okay. So I'll get up to the high ground. Can you pull the aggro? Also the, the, uh, the alien sympathizers do have weapons. Okay. Like some rifles, handguns. Um, again, they're, they're not human weapons. They're using like alien blasters and stuff. Okay. That's what I was going to ask. Okay.
[00:48:24] Uh, and yes, based on my class description, I am crowd control. Okay. Uh, so it's literally that. Okay. So I could either introduce them to old painless or just go, Hey, you guys, fuck you. As I'm driving around. Hey, you guys. Excuse me. Is this the elucidate? Fuck you. Fuck you.
[00:48:53] Fuck you. Oh yes, I am a fucker. Mm-hmm. See, oh, fuck you. All right. Um, okay. So I guess you want the distraction first before you go sneaking up or? Well, uh. Or do you want to sneak up? I'm guessing I could probably sneak up to the high ground, um, while, uh, while he's getting prepared for his, uh, uh, uh, uh, distraction. Okay. Uh, is the high ground essentially just the top of the buddy bunker?
[00:49:23] No, no, no. You guys are away from the buddy bunker. Okay. We made distance after that. There's some distance. Okay. This is the next encounter on the map. Yeah. Um, yeah, no, you can make a, uh, a drop roll, uh, with a, uh, a plus die six, uh, like, uh, an extra plus die six because of the terrain. Uh, and because he actually wore, um, he actually changed the camo on his armor to match the environment. And you have a jet pack to assist you. I know. Mm-hmm. Yeah. So you can get an extra die six on top of whatever other die sixes you can get for your specials and stuff. Okay.
[00:49:53] Question, your jet pack, is it a wing diver style one where winds come out and then deploy back in? Hell yeah. Uh, that's... I hate that this is cooler than Helldivers is. Two successes. Two successes? Okay. Um, yeah, you do it well. Well done, Doomdropper. Great. Yeah, you, you are, you are the, you are the knight. You are the snow. You're one with the snow, ice and snow. Mm-hmm. Okay. And then I will hide behind a, uh, a rock waiting for them to get to the optimal position
[00:50:23] and for him to, uh, uh, uh, engage or distract or whatever he's planning for his distraction. Mm-hmm. All right. Speaking of, what is this distraction you've concocted? Uh, I kind of, okay. So I can't, what I normally do in these situations, if asked this, I would drive between the legs with the FRV. But there is... I can't do that this time. You could go, you could like loop to loop, oh like kind of like, like, um, uh, drift around it and take out some of the, uh, some of the quick links. I could, yes.
[00:50:53] The, the sympathizers, yeah. That is... They also run over in the foot. They do have like, they do have like kind of splayed feet, like he does have his like splayed like toe or like clawed toes. Aim for the baby toe! I run it over and he... Oh, my toe, my toe! I was just gonna do that from, from freaking Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Exactly, yeah. Oh, my toe, my toe! You just hear that in your, in your head because they, they, they're telepathic because
[00:51:22] they're, um, cognivores. So I guess I'm doing that. Mm-hmm. Alright. So I guess this would be, uh, Doom actually, because you're being really rash here. And you're taking the offensive. So this is actually a Doom roll. Okay. And I have one bonus for crowd control? Yeah. Okay. Trip and tear until it's done. Oh! Trip and rip. Oh, yeah. I was like, I was like, trip and drift until it is done. That's pretty sad.
[00:51:54] And here we go. I'm going under for Doom. Yes. Okay. I got one under. Uh, you barely manage it. Yeah! The COC inflicts a complication, harm, or cost. Uh, I'm gonna say that you do manage to, so what your, what was the actual goal? Like, what was your main goal here? Yeah. So what is the elevation you're on? Just, there's this hill? It's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's basically like, he's about like halfway up the thing. Like, in terms of height, like he's about halfway up this creature's like height. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Okay.
[00:52:24] Just up on the Craigie Spire. Yeah. But basically we saw them walking in a certain direction. You went ahead and got up on some height. Mm-hmm. Okay. We'll see that there's a rock nearby, relatively big rock, a big enough one that can hide an FRV behind it. And when they got close enough that the, uh, the Fakun is in range from what I can gauge of a jump, then I'll just... Just some good old boys.
[00:52:51] I was gonna say, I was just gonna like, just hammer it and just power slide around the corner and just run his toe over. Okay, so Fast and Furious, okay, yeah. Dick, dick, dick. Drift, drift, drift. Listen to that theme song. That's what he said. It sounds like dick, yeah. Yes. Anyway, yeah, so you go, you like do a drift around the thing as the Fakun is passing the ice boulder that you're there. Because there's no actual rocks really, like on the battlefield it's mostly ice. Yes.
[00:53:19] There might be some like, deposits of earth and rock and stuff but it's mostly ice. Okay, fine. Anyway, um, you drift around and you do like step on over its toe but like, the FRV also nicks the leg of the creature and it's still pretty solid. So while you do do damage to the creature, your FRV does take a harm box. Okay. So it is on its, it's already started smoking immediately. Okay.
[00:53:45] You've like hurt, you've taken out, like you've bent the axle and it's like, just like boom, boom, boom. It's a very rough ride suddenly. The front quarter panel's squished in. Yeah. Okay. Look at the Stimpak. Like unfortunately they haven't developed a FR, like mechanical Stimpaks. Damn. We have to row FRVs first for that to work. Yeah. Okay, but either way. Yeah. So I go past them. Do I run over any of the, um... No, you, they were, they were behind the, uh... That's fine.
[00:54:15] Yeah. But you manage to, and yeah, the Fakiner's like... Like jumping up and down a little bit from where it is. Yeah. And it's like, its eye immediately turns to you and you actually get a red spot, like a red and purple spotlight on your vehicle. Yeah. So... Oh, like the eye of Sauron towers. Yeah. Basically. Um, however, it is now, um, its attention is on, uh, the attention of it and the, the uh, sympathizers is on the FRV that just squished its toe. So... Oh yeah. You don't move, uh, Griffin.
[00:54:45] Alright. Then I'm going to, uh, run at the edge. Okay. And leap off. And deploy my wing diver jet pack. Mm-hmm. And, uh, get it to take me inside its, um... Its field of, of repulsion? Yes. Okay. Yep. You manage to like, there's like, there's like a weird buzzing feeling as you pass through it, like, like a slight resistance, but like it's more so they're just like, almost like thick air. You're like a little bit of a feather. And then you are, you are on, you are, you can land on its head.
[00:55:14] Uh, or near, or near, near the top of its head. Land implies I want to plant my feet. I'm going spear first. Okay. So you're just going to like, I'm going for the eye. Oh, okay. Um, alright. Um, that will require a doom roll. Because, uh, the, the, you, uh, as you guys are, I've been briefed before, you've dealt with, you, you've gotten briefings on like, the enemy forces. Mm-hmm. Uh, a Fakken's eye, when it spotlights and starts like flashing red or a red and purple, that means it's prepping a, a beam, sort of like the, um, the Independence Day beams.
[00:55:46] Yep. So like, it's starting to like, basically it's targeting you and it's, it's starting to charge up its laser. Yeah. Now, due to the complexity of this plan, do I get any bonuses? Um, so you will get it, you, uh, I will say, so you get one die six for just being doing something risky. Um, you'll get a die six because of your, uh, your specialty. And I will actually give you a die six because you have the, you have the, uh, the, um, the, you, you called down the stratagems that, uh, like that you need. So yeah. Okay.
[00:56:15] So you get three die six. Cause you're prepared for this. Yeah. Unless you want to have some kind of cool one liner, then I would give you another die six. Loading one liner. If you can do, if you can do a cool one liner in the next five seconds. One Mississippi. Don't, don't. Fucking hell, man. Oh, no, Aaron. Fucking hell. Yeah. Gonna send you to fackin' hell. Go to fackin' hell.
[00:56:45] All right, you can get four dice six. Or it's four dice six. All right, I'll take that. I'll, uh. I will take that. Oh, I'll get it. It's gone forever. And remember, you're trying to roll under your dupe. Under your number. Two. All right, on two. You do it well. Um, you manage to stab it in the eye. Uh, it is not quite dead yet, but it is, uh, it is interrupted.
[00:57:14] It's, uh, uh, it's, uh, energy attack. And he, is he, like, holding on to it? Yeah, you're dang, you're, it's like thrashing and you're holding on because it's, it's, it's, your, your sphere is embedded. Okay. All right. I'm good with that. Nice. Um, the, uh, the, the Quislings below, like the, the, the alien sympathizers are like, freaking out. Hey man, they're just trying to tell the truth. And they start firing. Are they all Chong from teaching Chong? Yeah, yeah.
[00:57:40] They're just trying, they, they, they, they're just like, like giving, telling some kind of rhetoric about like the fact that like the, the elucidator just trying to elucidate, uh, the truth. Um, and that like the homeworld's, uh, like a tyrannical regime and all that. And they just start firing guys. Yeah. Um, they're using their words and their guns to, uh, so, um, uh, yeah. Uh, I guess both of you guys can roll drop to try and get away, uh, try and like, uh,
[00:58:09] um, not get hit by, not get pelted by, uh, energy fire. I'm currently in a vehicle. I'm moving the vehicle. Your vehicle will still be taken, be damaged. Oh, so I'm rolling for the vehicle. Yeah. Okay. Cause your vehicle, I will say it is damaged enough that like regular fire will, will, will, will take it out if you don't. Oh, is that how it works? Yeah. Oh, okay. Usually like the, the, the main hitbox only really heavy weapons or heavy weapons will, will damage it. Mm-hmm. But if it's damaged, then that's when like regular fire can get into it. Okay. I like that. That's cool.
[00:58:39] I hate that, but it's fine. No, it's fine. Two? All right. So you managed to like, kind of like, like either, either cut through the, the thrashing of the falcon or the, the falcon or the, um, or just, you're just like able to flail around like with style to dodge out of the way from gut from, from blaster fire. As he's like, yeah, I feel like it's because he's thrashing around and I'm just still holding up. Yeah. Like you're like, he's like waving the flag, but you're the flag is your body. A little bit.
[00:59:09] I get the flag. Mm-hmm. So drop. Yes. I did not succeed. Cause I don't, I think I only had one dice cause I don't have anything to assist me on that. I think another drop then because the, a cut enough, enough blast fires hit the vehicle that it starts like going for the engine starts going critical. Okay. And that drop. Yeah. I did not go over that one as well. Uh, you wait, hang on. It's over. Hang on. Drop. The first one was a drop roll, right? It goes, you're drawn over the number. Okay. I actually did do that then. Okay.
[00:59:38] First I thought is I'm going to put these in clearer areas. It does say, it does hit, see here like in the, on the chart does say like, like down for doom and up for drop. Oh, I know. It's just, oh yeah. That is very clear there. I did not see that. I honestly didn't see that. No, I've been putting pluses and minuses over the logo trying to remember that. Yeah. That's actually quite nice. It's right there. Uh, yeah, it's very easy to see. Is that, okay. Is that, but neither of you guys saw that. So is that a problem?
[01:00:06] Well, it's because basically what I did was I was like, oh, I played this game before. I'll make my character. Let's go. No, especially cause you're like, Hey Dave, are we going to go? We're going to be out of time. I know. But no. I only, I only re-read this one up to the end of, uh, strategy. Yeah. So honestly, no, that is now that I know it's there. That's very clear. Okay. So you're good. So I did succeed. Okay. And like I said, yeah, you're still driving the FRV, like basically around that same
[01:00:34] ice boulder, just kind of get away from like fire. Mm-hmm. I'm just trying to see how long I can maintain this drift for maximum points. Yeah. You drift around again, the other side and suddenly that boulder looks more like an eaten apple. Like it's just like, they blast the sides of it. So it's just like kind of concave. So they shoot like lasers? Yeah. They've got like weird alien, like, like probably it's probably like psychic energy blasters or something like that. They're probably just using their own like souls or psychic energy to, to create energy. That's pretty cool. Like they could kill themselves by shooting too much. Maybe the humans can.
[01:01:04] Yeah. I know. Yeah. I like that. Yeah. You do see that these humans, like they're using these alien tech and they're getting wainer and wainer by the time they're getting like more and more gaunt. What color are the projectiles? It's probably rail guns. Yeah. Yeah. Like that's a cool concept. But every shot is like, they're getting more and more like, they're aging. Yeah. That's pretty neat. Um, concept. Maybe they specifically.
[01:01:30] It's like a really slow killing, like Holy Grail, like wrong Holy Grail. Mm-hmm. Like, you know, like the guy who becomes a skeleton. He chose poorly. Yeah. They did choose poorly. They're working with the elucidant. Yep. Because they're alien fanboys. Yep. But. So is it like purple plasma that they're shooting? Yeah. Like purple and red plasma. Mm. Evil colors. Sorry, Sebastian. He likes purple. He does. I mean, purple is like definitely like the, like the, the, the color of like an alien. Oh, absolutely. Yeah.
[01:02:01] Um, but yeah. So that's, uh, that's going on. So, um, uh, that's their attacks. And you've, you've still, you've dropped, you've killed the, uh, actually I'll say, um, the, uh, the, the main, like the, the back end is still just thrashing around. So like, what would you, would you like to do? Uh, I'm going to let go with one hand and draw my pistol and unload my, my Senator into its, well, more. It does have a chat.
[01:02:28] It does actually help like this vertical like jaw that's like chattering as well. Oh yeah. Cause you're in the eye and underneath there is a mouth. Yeah. So yeah. I forgot to mention that. I did bring that up. So watch your tootsies. Yeah. So you're kind of like flailing enough that you're like chomping and you're like, ugh. Well, in that case, uh, I'm not going to reach for my revolver. I'm going to instead reach for my bundle of dynamite. There we go. Yeah. And, uh, toss some dynamite in there. Okay. What we'll do. Okay.
[01:02:56] Did you actually set the timer for five seconds or was it on the, on a minute? It's still on 60 seconds. Damn it. I remember when they released that. What? You, I rolled two and I don't believe I get two. Um, but then we get one. Why? Well, we'll tell them. How do you get a bonus? And then, um, would you get a bonus because you went in with a plan?
[01:03:26] Like your plan was to do this. So like you're prepared. My plan was to lance it in the eye. Yeah. This is, this is, my plan didn't finish the job. So now I have to improvise. Yeah. I would say, um, give me a one liner. I'm going to make that an official. I'm going to make that like, I might have to reach it. Add that like as an option. Like if you can do a cool one liner, you can get an extra one. One dice six. Mm-hmm.
[01:03:58] I, there, there's something here. There is something here. Because like I'm throwing dynamite down his throat, which is a cylindrical stick that starts with D. Or you could just go like, this dynamite hurt. Oh. Oh. Make a roll to help him. That's exactly. That's exactly. Just roll one dice six. Just see if he can.
[01:04:27] Over or under? Uh, it'd be, uh, it'd be under, or it'd be over. Oh, I went over. Over. Okay. It was five. Yeah. Great. That gives me two successes. Yup. In the lore, I looked up to check to make sure he's still okay. And I see him just standing there, like stabbed in, but like holding dynamite and not doing anything. I'm like over the comms. I'm like that dynamite hurt. Just to tell me. He was like, oh. Just throw it into the guillet.
[01:04:57] Uh, all right. Now roll a drop to get away before it explodes. Okay. Cause you're right next to those things. I'm right next to the explosion point. Mm-hmm. So you have one for the basic one-die-six. You're light, you're using light armor. Um, and I guess technically you get three for the, uh, cause your specialty. So yeah. Yup. Two hits.
[01:05:27] Two hits. Alright, yeah. You like jet away, um, as a- Kick off the eye. Pulling out my spear. Engage the wig diver. Yup. And then suddenly there's just a, a graphic explosion. It's the- Wind dooter. Doomer. Doomer. Oh, I said do-der. As the head of this thing just blows off and it just like starts toppling like a, like a tree. Uh, imagine take out one or two of the, the, the, the, the alien sympathizers in the process. Hell yeah.
[01:05:56] Um, however, what would you like to do now? Uh, do you remember? Okay. So yes. Um, the sympathizers were behind the, the rock. Yeah. I went around and I came back around and like, I want to basically stop before exposing myself out there again. Yeah. And like, so I pulled it to a stop, suggested the one-liner. As soon as you saw the edge, like, they're like, they were like trying to like aim for that spot and then like, you didn't hit there. So there's something like that at the edge of that, that boulder is just like being vaporized. Yes.
[01:06:25] So I'm going to wait for a, uh, a break in the fire through there. Okay. And, um, I'm going to just like open the door, do a combat roll out into the open holding a mini gun and just open into them. Nice. All right. That'll definitely be doom. Yes. So one doom and one for crowd control. Yep. Um, if I tried to do a combat roll with that giant backpack full of ammunition, I would just get stuck on my back like a turtle. Probably. Don't give him ideas.
[01:06:54] Don't make, don't make me have to do those no rolls. Well, if you fail, that's what's going to happen. Yeah. Just, oh, I'm on my back. You're trying to stick me. And then, yeah. Okay. So two, two dice. Command. And I'm going under if I'm using, using doom. Yeah. I tied on a three. On a three? Yes. That counts as a success? Yes. Only one success though? Yes. All right.
[01:07:23] Um, you barely manage it. Uh, I, I get to inflict a complication harm or cost. So I'm going to say you do get shot. So you do, uh, take, you do take a harm box. Mm-hmm. Take another harm box. Um. Cause, unknowingly, the minigun in this is set up as a movie minigun. One that needs a wind up time. Unlike real miniguns that shoot immediately. Yeah. And that gave them plenty of chances to like just start shooting. So yeah. Mm-hmm. Okay. Yeah. Cute.
[01:07:52] But I succeeded, so what does that do to them? So you do manage to like get, you, you manage to cut down about half of the squads. There's still like a small group of them left. Okay. But like, yeah, you, you didn't cut them all down. Okay. If I got two successes, I would've? Yeah. Okay. I just want to see how the game works. Yeah. Yeah. No, it's not super complicated. It's just like, you, you cut down like, you, you partially succeed. Yeah. Yeah. That makes sense. Okay.
[01:08:18] I now want Helldivers to have a primary weapon that is a micro gun. They, it's the, the knock volley gun one. It's, the, the barrels don't spin, but it's a huge pepper box gun. Remember? Yes. You want a spinning barrel one. Why? Because they actually exist in nine millimeter. Like when you hold like this, like a normal rifle? Like this. Oh.
[01:08:48] Oh. It's, it's a mini gun shrunk down to shoot nine millimeter. Yes. Isn't it made by Tipman or something? I remember that. I think so. Yeah. And they, it's, it's belt fed nine millimeter rounds. So you could literally have a mini gun that's like this big. That feeds from a pouch on your belt. That's hilarious. Jeez. So then it's a belt belt fed. Ooh. That's sick. All right.
[01:09:16] And then if that's not enough, I pull out the actual mini gun. Yeah. And you could carry both. Yeah. Oh my God. But then I need one for my pistol slot. So I need a mini micro one. It's just like one handed and it just goes into my pocket. I'm minuscule. What's, what's that first gun that like from the 1920s? Like that like little like, it's a Derringer mini gun. Yeah. Like, anyway. It's Calibri sized. What are you, Griffin? Sorry.
[01:09:44] There's only like, Calibri sized. Oh God. I'll wait. For those gun nerds at home, it's hilarious. Don't worry. I'm just, I can't get the image out of my head. I think your squad, no, no, no. I think your squad needs to be called the guy. The Gun Fondlers. A little bit.
[01:10:14] Just because, because between like this and like the gun, like the arm, the dreadnoughts like ship arms. Everything should be guns. Yeah. Anyway. So Griffin, what would you like to do? There is like only a few of the human sympathizers, the human alien sympathizers left. Okay. Has he landed back where he started? Yeah. Or where did you land? Yeah. You landed back, wherever you want to land. Well, are you still at the high point? You could also still be in the air. Yeah. I was just going to say, you could still be in the air.
[01:10:38] No, I've gone back to my high ground where I will plant my flag and pull out the amendment and I will provide a sniper cover fire. Okay. Roll doom. I guess we'll get a die six plus, I would say probably another die six because of the gun, you're just like, you've got the high ground. Oh, is that like, er, yeah.
[01:11:08] I guess that makes sense. If you're at a low ground, would you be rolling at disadvantage? Probably, yeah. Would you? Would... I have to roll under? For doom, you have to roll under. Yeah. Great. I rolled a one and a four, so that's two hits and one, because one of them is a tie. Okay. Mm-hmm. But yeah, you take out the rest of the human alien sympathizers as they were trying to get closer to the floundering... Doomdaver. Doomdaver.
[01:11:36] Um, you managed to like peg them off before they uh, uh, before they got too close and started doing some real damage. Okay. We'll say that like after I got hit a bit and saw them starting to open up, I like, I spun the minigun back around and went behind the ice as they kept shooting and then I just hear... pew, pew, pew, pew, pew, pew. As he's shooting from up top. Pew, pew, pew, pew. Pew, pew, pew. He's a suppressor on it now. Yeah. And I just make sure to give him like the actual like the awesome like knee down thumbs up from Helldivers.
[01:12:06] The visual of having a suppressor on a rifle that also has a bayonet. There's a suppressor on the bayonet as well. It's just the sheet? It's just the bayonet and the sheet? Yeah. And so it does budgeting damage instead of slashing damage. Oh, that's amazing. It turns it into a blackjack. Basically. Yeah, the encounter is over.
[01:12:35] Did anybody take damage? Um... Did anybody hurt him? You said I did, right? Yeah, you took a harm from the last fight, or from the last thing. So you could spend a stimpack to basically recover. I still got one to go. I'm fine. Okay. Because I have heavy armor. Yeah, your armor is a little bit like... Now it's just medium armor. Yeah, exactly. With no bonus. Yeah. No, it's more or less just like you're weaker. You've been like...
[01:13:03] You're exhausted from the tactics of that. Mm-hmm. Alright. Okay. Although, yeah, your FRB is not doing too good. That's part of the reason I parked it. Yeah. Like another... You're looking at... It's smoking a bit. Again, and it's a little bit... It's got a bit of a rickety-ness to it when it drives. Mm-hmm. But it'll still go, but like another shot or something... Or if it hits a bump too hard, it might make the engine go critical. Yeah.
[01:13:33] I should've made my dude... Well, I'm fine with this dude, but like if I make another dude... A battle mechanic? Yeah, honestly. Like a technician of some kind. Gearhead. Yeah. Make him be Huey Llewellyn. Yes. He's a troll. I mean... He's just augmented humans. So, there's a lot of customization here that we can do without... Like... The limitations of it being a game. Yeah. Yeah. It doesn't have to be a stratagem that's in Helldive or stuff, right? No, no.
[01:14:00] If you want to call down like a repair kit or a repair drone. Like you have stratagems out the wizzoo. Yeah. Realistically, I could just call down a new FRB though as well. Yeah. You could do that. Honestly, at this point it's just a flavor. Like do you want to flavor it as like calling down a new one? Or do you want flavor as calling down a repair drone? Yeah. Like call Jack from Gears of War, that jackpot that like can repair things and stuff. Mm-hmm. I'm tempted to call in a mech. Yeah? You could also send him in a mech. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
[01:14:29] Can I call him a Jaeger? Oh, no. I am calling in a mech. I am definitely calling in a mech. Okay. Um... Hey cock, I need you to uh... I need you to send me my mech. It's on it's way. Or the Cal. You're talking about Cal. I'm like, Cal, I need you to drop me the mech. Mm-hmm. That's why it's called Cal Drops. Yeah. That's why it's called Cal Drops. Okay. It's like... Yeah, so... Cal drop on my point. Drop my mech. Yeah.
[01:14:59] And a few moments later, or like a very quick time later, the stork shows up again. I love that it's called the stork. It's great. Yeah, it comes by, it flies over, it has like, again, it has like another platform with like your... your mech like strapped to it, and then it just drops the platform. Uh, make a drop roll. It's about to get flattened. You can get 2.6 for this, it's fine. I am not flattened. You are not flattened. You're like, whoop!
[01:15:28] Like get out of the way. Um, and yeah. I'll say that's fair too because calling in vehicles, it's harder to know when they're gonna drop. Yeah. Where they're gonna drop, because all the other stratagems, there's a beam all the way to the ground the whole time. Yeah. But the vehicles just show off, it's like... Yeah, you have to actually be watching for that. Yeah, I've seen too many videos of people, I've also been crushed by vehicles I've called out, but I've also seen too many vehicles of fucking citizens getting flattened and crushed.
[01:15:54] It's like, well, like yay, the Helldivers are here to save us! Squish. Um, yes, so my mech is painted white. Of course. Mm-hmm. It has a shield. Mm-hmm. Ah. On which arm? Uh, the left arm. Interesting choice. Well, yeah, because it's also for bashing. Fair, but generally you would put your shield on your off arm.
[01:16:25] Uh, well, not when you're carrying a flag in your right, because he has a comically large other flag. Yes. I thought you'd be stabbing with that flag. No, no, no. No, you put your regular flag, the one that you usually carry, on, it's on another, like, what do you call it? A frog? A frog. On the, like, where you, like, where the hatch, near the hatch to get into the mech. So it has a small flag, like, a small human-sized flag that you use, like, that you've attached.
[01:16:55] But then it also has a mech-sized flag and banner. But that flag can only be deployed if there's a standard flag in the frog. Exactly. It requires that input. Otherwise it's just launching. They need to drift. Yeah, but the flag is, like, the key. Yeah. Yes. Yes. I like it. I love this. So, yeah. Yeah, and you hop in, like, whoo-hoo, and, like, powers up and you've got a mech. So, yeah. Nice. That's so cool.
[01:17:22] All right, so you're driving, and are you deploying anything to fix your vehicle, or are just gonna, like... How far are we from the objective? You still got, like, maybe two or so more encounters at least. Oh, okay. Damn. You got, like, two more legs, as it were, if we're playing red markets. Um... I mean, eh... Yeah, this one did a pretty good job. I'll call down a repair kit. I'll get that. All right, you spend the stratagem point.
[01:17:50] And, yeah, it's actually not a pod necessarily, it's just a drone. Like, almost like a droid, like, hover drone kind of thing comes down. Mm-hmm. Is it one of these guys? That's the logo? Yeah, exactly. Yeah, exactly. It's the logo, basically. And it's like, what seems to me with the problem here? I see. Yeah, FRV, a little smoky. Repair mode, activate. Boop! And it begins to start, like, blasting, like, nanite lasers into the damage and sort of
[01:18:18] healing it, basically, with, like, nanites, like, reconstructing the material. Yeah. But I like the option to repair or call down a new one, because, like, if this is almost dead because it was dog shit, give me a new one. Yeah. But if it did its job good, it deserves to survive. Yeah. And every repair... And be abandoned. Because, like, you're just, all right, we're good, let's head back. We're done. Doggy. Yes, Aaron? I'm just curious if this is a typo on your page. Okay, what?
[01:18:48] Very bottom, in bold, and italicized, melodious destiny? Yes. Okay. That's like the sweet liberty, no! Okay. Melodious destiny, no! That is how that's spelled. You were saying manifest destiny earlier. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And I just wasn't sure if that was supposed to be manifested and it had auto-corrected on you. Yeah, no, that one was intentionally because we're trying to, like, this is actually me and Adam were, like, brainstorming different, like, different quotes or different things so we can't use, like, liberty, sweet liberty.
[01:19:17] Manage democracy, so, like, manifest destiny. Yeah. Okay. All right, just wanted to check and make sure that was intentional. Yeah, so when you guys, like, when something dies or something dear to you guys, like your mech dies or, like, one of you guys dies, you guys would be like... Please feel free to call out, Melodious destiny! No! Yeah, fall in your knees. I'm glad it's right there on the bottom of the page so you can remember easy. Yeah. And it's in bold. Yeah. And italics! Son of a bitch, is it? Yep. Fuck!
[01:19:45] It's so hard for me to see italics. You know what's funny? The text, the little filler, like, the sort of flavor text at the very top underneath the banner is also italics. Fuck you it is! Oh god, it is. Dave has a real big hangup on, like, fonts and italics and how they're not, like, they're barely noticeable to him. Yeah, it just bugs me. Wait, so you have a hard time noticing when things are, like, slightly slanted? Yeah. Like, Brayton, you're just standing normally right now.
[01:20:15] I'm not trying to be a smooth criminal at all. Or TD, whatever it is, like, oh, make this frickin' sick. Yeah, he's a sleazy. Yeah. Anyway, yeah, so the mech finishes the job and then just explodes. Or, like, it blows, it kind of just explodes into a puff of nanite smoke, and then, like, the rest of the nanites, like, finish the job on the ship. The last poof is, like, the paint job going back on? Yeah, exactly, yeah. Wait a minute.
[01:20:42] Okay, so we have tech bots like that. Yeah. That fix shit, but we can't have stim packs for cars. That's basically what it is. That's basically what it is. It is. Yeah, but they haven't, like, listen, like, pick and choose your battles. It has to be stationary. Like, a stim pack for a car, I could potentially just, like, poke it into the frickin', uh, the, the dashboard while I'm driving. Well, you don't have, you don't have that, that upgrade on your FRV. Or, ah, super destroyer. Or, ah, no.
[01:21:11] On your, your dreadnought. Dreadnought, there. I'm writing that down. Your straight straight. The nanite tank is right next to the NOS tank. Don't get them confused. Oh, yeah. Yeah, there's the red button that's the NOS, and there's the green button. Always make sure you hit the green button. No, the reddish orange button. Yes. Oh, God. Very slightly different hue. All right. Cool.
[01:21:41] All right, so, uh, you guys, continue on your way. Uh, in the, in the new FRV and your mech. Um, and, uh, you guys hear, or you guys are, are, are continuing to travel. You're much closer. You're basically, like, one more stretch, and you're, you're at the tower. Uh, however, ahead of you guys, you see, uh, a roving, another roving band of, uh, of enemies.
[01:22:09] You, more humans, more human alien sympathizers. Mm-hmm. Uh, as well as a fucking nether falcon. Another falcon. And, um, some standard, um, uh, uh, some standard medium, like, units. Basically, like, regular, uh, regular elucidate ground troops. So, basically, they're, like, they're about, about, about, slight, about a head or two bigger than a regular human. So, like, probably about six, seven feet tall. Um, again, their arms are all, like, multi-jointed.
[01:22:38] Uh, and they've got, like, different, like, they've got weird, like, warped weapons that they use, like, almost like dervishes. Like, they're almost like, like, uh, like, just kind of like, um, they're, like, wheel, like, kind of these weird curved swords that they, like, kind of wade between, between their hands. Oh, they don't have Q-tips like the ones at Helldivers? No, they're more, like, kind of, like, weird, like, battleth kind of, like, things. But, like, with energy emanating from them. Well, I think, everything is so much cooler in this than Helldivers. Right? It's because I've designed them. Yeah. Um. Sorry, Arrowhead.
[01:23:06] Out of game, you've got the ground troops. I envision them being the Kentucky tree dolphins. So, there's just, like, these weird, creepy, like, pale humanoid things that have, like, three joints. Like, three, like, elbows, or two elbows. And, like, um, and look kind of dolphin-ish. But, like, but if the dolphin's, like, head, like, bottlenose was, like, infused into their neck. And they're, they have a, they have a slip mouth. Where the. A vertical slip mouth. A vertical mouth. Instead of, like, a regular, like, I guess horizontal, like, how we would have terrestrial mouths.
[01:23:37] Um, and they just have these, like, creepy, like, dead eyes. Like, shark eyes. Kill the fire. So, you said that their, their arm has three joints. Yeah. And they were talking like Chong earlier. So, I'm imagining three bloods hanging out in the corner of their mouth. Yeah. Well, the ones that were speaking like Chong were the humans. Well, those are the humans, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know, I know. But these are, like, further along ones. Yes. Are they, or are they? No, no. The elucidate are aliens for another dimension. Yes.
[01:24:05] These are the ones that taught them their ways, though. Yeah. Maybe they're the ones who put the Chong-ness on them. Yeah, maybe. Is that just the name of the Chong-ness? The Chong-ness is, like, the name of their, like, mind control? No, that's the name of the Chong-ness. You do. It's the name of the, uh, human hive mind that serves them. There is a wind haze at the bottom, at the foot of the tower now, you can see. It's a green haze. Yeah, it's a purple haze. Mm-hmm, mm-hmm.
[01:24:32] Um, but anyway, um, yeah, so you see this, like, kind of larger humanoid, like, kind of alien, clearly alien humanoid thing, um, kind of, like, in, like, uh, I guess leading the, uh, the human sympathizer group. And then they've also got another fucking walking ball, like, like, bouncing around, or like, hopping, hopping, uh, in a direction. But they don't seem to see you. However, off to the side, um, which one of you guys have, which one of you guys have the highest number? Uh, I'm three. You're three, you're four?
[01:25:02] Um, so that's what you see. Like, you know, both of you guys see, like, the enemies ahead of you guys. However, um, Griffin, to the side of, like, to the side of the vehicle, or the side of your mech, you look over and you see this large, um, stone spire, or this large icy stone spire. Uh, this is what's known as a tactical interest point, or the tip. Um. The cock is directing us to the tip? Yes. I feel like this is a joke, there's a joke somewhere here, I just don't get it.
[01:25:31] Yeah, uh, these, these, these, uh, these tactical interest points are generally places with anomalous, uh, resources of high value for the, uh, for the, for the homeowner. So, if you, uh, it's sort of like a secondary objective is to go get the resources at the base of the tip. How tall is it? Uh, it's about, um, probably about like 10 or 12 feet tall. Oh, okay. That's it? Yeah. It's more girth than, uh, than length. Okay. Or than height. This is Cockrock he's referring to. Yeah, it's, yeah. Yeah, yeah.
[01:26:01] It's Cockrock. Okay. It's Cockrock from Al Divers. No, no, no, I get it. Okay. By the way, that's on my list of encounters is the tip. Yeah. It's inspired. Does it come to a point? Yes. Great. Um. You're gonna break it. You're gonna turn it in. I'm gonna, I'm gonna break it off. Okay. Uh. You're gonna break off the tip? Yep. Yep. I'm gonna go, uh, I'm gonna go break off the tip.
[01:26:31] That's how slow it is. It's very highly armored though. No, no, it's, it's not really that slow. I'm just that slow. I see. You're not, you, you haven't quite like drift compatible. You haven't, you haven't gotten quite drift compatible with your mech. Yeah. Well, I haven't, I haven't learned to do the swagger march in my mech yet. Mm-hmm. Last time you tried, you like the car, uh, the mech, uh, flipped on its side and I was just like, trying like, you're like flailing like a, like, like, like, like, a turtle. Yeah.
[01:27:00] I ended up walking in a circle for an hour. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Anyway, uh, so you, you, you walk over there. Um, leaving, leaving your, uh, your, your teammate in his apartment. I'm rolling up near him. Oh, so like, well he, you, you didn't see the, uh, the tip. Yeah, but he probably would have saw me leave. Yeah, so like, you could ask him why, like, why he's heading over that direction. Why are you heading over that direction? There's a tip over here. Role play.
[01:27:30] Hey, Griffin, the objective's that way. Where the fuck are you going, bud? I'm gonna give him the tip. And you, you look ahead, like, past Griffin's like, oh, just the tip. Just the tip. I like this plan. Like, while he's doing, while he's taking the tip. While he's taking the tip. You can get out of your vehicle and get all the anomalous material, exotic particle materials that are around the tip. Yes. At the base of the tip. Yeah. I'll circle the tip and get all the goo that's around.
[01:27:59] I fucking love Helldivers. It's so fucking dumb. Yeah, it really is. Yeah. So yeah, you, yeah, easily, your mech can easily like, break off the tip. Yep. I gotta ram this fucking with the tip. Okay. Nice. I almost wanna make, okay, so, make a drop roll with your mech to stealthily get behind the fucking. He's gonna sneak up with a mech. And up with a mineral doom to impale it.
[01:28:28] My mech is painted white, do I get the extra dice? Yes, I will actually give it, yeah, well you get one die for just for the camouflage, but like, otherwise, like, cause it's a lot of mechs, so. Yeah. Fair. So I only get two dice. Yeah. Yeah. It's a lot warmer in here than I thought it would be. One hit! So you, you manage, so, you get up to it, but then it immediately starts turning, cause
[01:28:57] it definitely hurt you. So like, you got, you got to it, but it's like, right there and like, everyone, and everyone is made aware of you. So they're all converging on you, but you got right up to the, the, the fucking. So you may roll a doom. So you're in my head range. I'm gonna flip on my speakers. Mm-hmm. Hey bud, you get to take my tip in your mouth. Okay. Is what it says. Also question, should I turn the AC up more or? No, it's not gonna matter. It's like, it's not 68.
[01:29:27] It's gonna be. Yeah. Yeah. Cause I think it only goes down one from there anyways. Okay, so this is just two dice? Yeah. Unless, uh, okay, so, I'll give you a third one, cause you're using a mech. And I need to roll low. Consults. Four and four are matched, and a three.
[01:29:57] I'm sure. That's three hits. Goddamn. I believe on three, you get it, Cruiser's assess. Plus, the COC tells you some extra effects you get. So yeah, I was gonna say, you rammed that fucking tip. Like you, uh, okay, you, again, this, the, the, the packin's a little bit higher than your, than your mech. But, so, you probably had to like launch that, that thing at its mouth. But I made it deep throated.
[01:30:24] Yeah, you, you, you, you, you, you launch it, you launch that spire of ice and rock into the, into the fucking's mouth as it, as it's about to like, let out a roar and like blast you with its beam, with eye beam. Mm-hmm. But it goes right through its mouth and like down its gullet and through its, through the back of its head. And then immediately, like instantly killing the, the fucking. And the fucking actually drops and crushes half of the, uh, half of the, uh, the human alien symbolizers.
[01:30:54] Can I be recording this on my, on my super phone? Sure. Um, I shouldn't be super cause that's, uh, hold on, we're super, super, super, super, super phone. Or ultra. Mm-hmm. You're ultra, it's ultra tickets. We called it Superb Critic. Yeah, we called it Superb Critic. We probably should have called it something else, but it's fine. But we can change it. Yeah. Also, like, also here's the thing about this is like, the thing about this game is like, I, these are the rules and stuff like a baseline.
[01:31:20] Every game's gonna be different in terms of like how people are like interpreting this. Yeah. Like, the only reason I gave, like, I'm gonna play this seriously. If not me, J-J-J-J-O-C-S-S-A-D-O-C-A-N-O. You're a rockstar. We are. So, play. Our silliness is in between the encounters. When we get to the encounter, we buckle down and we're serious. Ignore the fact that you said you made a deep throw at your table. Aside from that. I get bonuses for one-liners. That's true, that's true.
[01:31:50] Alright, so, yeah, you got, as, as you're getting back in your boat, in your, you're getting all the, you've gathered up all the globules and anomalies, like, of exotic particles and anomalies. Yes. And you're getting back in your car, or you're back in your FRV and you're like, oh, superb. Okay. Like, take photos, like, videos of it. And then you're like, oh, I gotta get over there. I should go help him, yes. Well, I'm assuming, like, if I, you told me the plan probably, I would've been quietly
[01:32:16] creeping up with the car while he's like, quote unquote, quietly stomping up with the mech. And now I'm picturing your car creeping up. I don't know what's the thing, like a car, like a, like a, no, it's not a car. It's not a car. That's a good accident. But you're like, what are you talking about? Our Dreadnought has arms. That's fair. Yeah, but it's frickin' sick. It's frickin' sick, yes. No, I just, I just turned on EV mode. Yeah. Cause it's our hybrid. Yeah. Um... Gross.
[01:32:46] It's for stealth purposes! Well, okay, so that's fair. Doomdamer, what are you doing? That you've gotten a little bit closer cause you had to like, take that video and such. Okay. Um, so as soon as I'm seeing that he is being engaged, I just wanna hop out actually, just get in the machine gun that's on the back and just start opening up. Okay. I'm ruling to control the cloud, the cloud, the crowd, uh, with the heavy machine gun that's on the back of the FRB. Yeah. So I'm assuming that is two rules?
[01:33:16] Which is good, because, yeah, yeah. Yeah, which is good, because they're all converging on him now because I've killed like everybody, I've killed like the mean. Can I give him a bonus by, uh, attracting all of the crowd by waving my flag? I, yeah, yeah, make a, make a, uh, drop roll. Okay. I will. Good. I'm happy. I got a success. All right, you get a, you get a, uh, nine to die six. That didn't help. Love it. So I got a one success. Okay, so. Remember the curse is in my hands.
[01:33:46] You barely manage it, um, and I get to inflict a complication harm or cost. Um, I'm gonna say that you shoot at, you actually fire on his mech. You shoot over, you, you miss, miscalculate the height. And you end up shooting over the, the humans and even that tall, seven foot tall motherfucker and shoot at, uh, the waving flag mech. So I didn't hit the humans at all? No, you shot, no, you shot the, uh, no, you barely see.
[01:34:16] But I, I did it, but. Yeah, so you shot one guy. How many guys are down there? There's only, there's still like, there's still like a couple of guys left after like, you, you, you shot a couple of them, but only after you like, oh shit, like you should, only after you shot him and then you realize. The initial recoil was more than I thought and had to bring it back. Yeah. Once you start seeing those trace around, you're like, oh fuck, I need to site this shit in. Yeah. So your, your, your mech has, uh, can, can take a, uh, can take off one. Does it count as heavy, as a heavy weapon?
[01:34:46] It's a heavy machine gun. It's a heavy machine gun. It has a heavy armor pen. Oh. I thought you were, oh, you weren't using any gun. I jumped on the FRV. Oh, okay. So yeah, take that. In hindsight, I should just use the minigun again, but I wanted to use the other gun. No, that's fair. That's fair. And the mech is smoking. It's fine. Yeah. However, the whirling dervish of, uh, like the, the, the swords, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the Cogniverse, um, Elucidate ground trooper with the swords is, uh, has taken
[01:35:16] notice of you and he's just like running to you. Okay. Just like. So there's one of them? Yeah. There's only one of them. Okay. But I cut down a few of the, the little minions. Yeah. You took care of your, you're just, you guys are just like murdering wholesale, um, homeworld trailers. Of course. That's what we do. Yeah. We're, we're trying to manifest our destiny here. Yeah, exactly. Your one goal. Cause doom stoppers only have, only need one goal. Manifest their destiny. Damn right. And we're doom droppers, not stoppers.
[01:35:46] That's right. That? You said stop. Okay. I was like, where'd you say I like. You didn't, you didn't write stop. Okay. Um, so yeah, uh, it is coming at you and it's going to just like, like, watch at you. So. Is he coming at me in full force? Yeah. It is a squirrel. Uh, with blades. Yes. Uh, make a drop roll. Okay. To get, get out of the way of those blades. I will do that. I went over. You went over your drug?
[01:36:16] Yes. Uh, how many, oh, did you use, you remember you can roll, you can make a, make the case to get more dice on your rolls. I don't know how I would do that. So what's your specialty? Oh, so wait. Okay. Hang on. I'm using, I'm dropping, right? Yeah. So I need to roll over. I successfully rolled over. I did it. Yeah. For some reason. One success. With one success. Yes. What is your, what is your specialty though? Um, crowd control. Crowd control. Mm. Yeah. Yeah.
[01:36:46] Heavy armor. I'm sitting on a turret. I'm stationary. Yeah. He's on a turret and the guy is running towards him. Yeah. If he's dropping to get out of the way, then he's dropping back behind cover. That's true. Yeah. I'll give you another nice six for that. Yeah. You could like flip behind the, the FRV. Yeah. Just dropping back. Drop it. Drop and roll. Mm. Drop. I rolled over. I did good. Okay. I tried to remember.
[01:37:16] You, it's so simple, but my brain is like, no. You've gotta be more complicated. Yeah. Yeah. You managed to, to get out of the way as like blades, like as just swirling blades basically cut through your, uh, it actually cuts through your, your turret. Mm. Your turret is now inoperable. So like, I'm, I'm about to shoot him. Like, uh, I'm on the machine gun. Fucking hell. Yeah. I'm on the machine gun pulling it down and he's running at me. Yeah. But he's kind of spooky and scaring me and like my shots are kinda- He's like, he's like vanishing in one spot and coming back up here. Yeah. So like, I can't really track onto him.
[01:37:44] Like he jumps up onto the hood and like goes to slash at me and I go, bleh. Exactly. Yeah. What you see in your head, bleh, more like, wha! Yeah, exactly. Just like, bleh, bleh, bleh, bleh, bleh, bleh. Um, and yeah, pieces of your, pieces of the turd just like falling next to you. Yes. Um, meanwhile, uh, your, your mech is being fired upon kind of, honestly. You didn't even swear. Did he break your turrets? Uh.
[01:38:14] Nice. Yeah, your, um, your mech's being fired upon by the, uh, by the humans kind of just ineffectively because they're literally basic units so they're just like fire, they're like light units. Yeah. Um. You guys shish kebab all of them? Just psss. Yeah, so how would you like to, how would you like to place the job on them? Uh, how many are there? There's like, we'll say like five. Okay. Okay.
[01:38:39] They're like, hey man, you're being real tranquil now. Got that big, that, that, that fackin' was a friend, man. Okay, so I got that big tower shield. Why are you fucking with their fackin'? Got that big tower shield, right? Okay, so I'm gonna take my, my flag and I'm gonna stick one. Ooh! And then I'm gonna put my tower shield down and let it go and then step on it to crush them under the door. Oh, okay, I like that. Wait, roll do? Under the massive shield? Yes.
[01:39:09] Roll do to see if that works. See how well that works. Uh, so one die six plus, um, one die six. One die six plus the mech, yeah. You get one die six for the mech. Okay. So you get two die six. So is it like, do you always get a bonus for using the strategy? Yeah, so the strategy, you call down things to help like deal with like a situation.
[01:39:36] So you basically just get an extra die six from, to deal with whatever situation is at hand. If it's something that's, that is considerably effective against that type of enemy. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, sorry. I should get one more die six. Because I impaled a guy with my spear. Okay. Which is a flag. And I, my class is bannerman. Yeah. So you are using your skills with your mech. Yeah. Okay. I got a six, a four, and a one. So that's two hits. Two hits?
[01:40:05] Alright, yeah. You do it well. Yeah. Like, there's like one guy left who's like, his legs have been crushed at the edge of the shield. Mm-hmm. And he's like, oh god man, oh god. Like, why can't we just have peace man? And just like, like, and then you just, you just like walk over, or you just gotta like shove the shield a little bit further, just freshen it up. He just, just kicks the shield a little bit. Yeah. Just tap it over him. Yeah. Step on it. Ewww.
[01:40:33] You pick the shield up and just cover it in blood now? Yeah, it's not, yeah it's just, oh, gross. All their bodies are squished against them. Yeah. Legs and arms, like, stretched. They've almost formed snow angels in the, in the Arctic tundra like environment you guys are in. Mm-hmm. Um, meanwhile you look over and your, uh, looks like, uh, that, that, uh, that ground force, that, that, that, that one elucidate unit is just kind of like, just lashing up at the, uh, the FRV. Mm-hmm.
[01:41:02] And you don't even see your, your, uh, your comrade. What's he called? Um, so. Is he called an over here? Huh? Is he like an over here or something? Because he teleports around? I kinda like that actually, yeah, yeah. Cause he's an overseer. He's an over here, yeah. And, uh. Yeah, he's an over here. Yeah. Over here. Over here, over here, over here. Uh, but yeah, so yeah, that's what you see over there. And then meanwhile, um, so, uh, yeah, you're, you, you've got out of the way, what are you gonna do? Uh, they're, uh.
[01:41:30] As, uh, Doomdaver? Yeah. Yeah. Um. I assume you're like, kinda like backing up a little bit, like kinda like, on the ground, kinda like backing up a bit, trying to get out of the way. Is he, he's on top of the, what are you looking down on? But he is. Right now, but he's dropping down, like, in this moment. Okay, cool. Um, I'm going to attempt to quick draw the crisper from my, my, uh, my light bolster, cause I didn't describe what pistol I brought. I brought the flamethrower pistol. Oh, no, sorry. Um, and I'm just gonna try and click it. Okay.
[01:41:58] Uh, yes, the, that time-honored, uh, time-honored home world question. Does it need to be, does this need to be on fire? Yes. The answer is yes, always. Since the dawn of time, humans have loved fire. Mm-hmm. I'd love to burn your face. Okay, so, I don't know if there's, uh, something good I could give you to say that I should get more than one from this, unfortunately. Um. Doomda one lighter. I'm so bad at coming up with those, unless like.
[01:42:27] Unless it comes up with the old mind. Yeah, but it's, once for me, it's different. Um. One-liner, one-liner. Something to do with the FRV. He heard it. Uh. Something to do with fire. Burning. Yeah. There's a connection there. There's no connection. That's it. Burning. I can't take one. All right. Timer's done.
[01:42:57] Yeah, you only have one. Yep. Uh, I tied. Tied? Yes. Yes. Uh, however, yeah, so you managed to inflict pain on him, but he also inflicts pain on you, so you take another harm. That's fine. As he, but however, you get, you severely harm him with the flames, and he is, he is, uh, he back, after he like slashes at you and gets a good shot at you, he is still on fire, so he starts to like kind of roll, like he vanishes and then like a moment later he's
[01:43:23] like nearby but like off in the distance just kind of like rolling on the ground trying to get the tuck and roll. Rolling in the snow. Yeah, literally trying to get the fire out. Mm. Okay. But yeah, so then we, uh, we cut to you, uh, Dave, or Griffin. Okay, I guess I'll start walking over there. Dave's turn to get in. I'm gonna get there in quick order. Okay, okay. Okay, because I was relatively close. Not close enough that I would guarantee not hitting you with the gun, but close enough
[01:43:52] that you could. Yeah. Okay, well then, uh, what you probably see right now is you are probably looking at like a front three-quarter shot of the FRV, me like on my back, like I, with the pilot light on my flamethrower lit, uh, you probably saw the flame gout that happened and he, the, uh, over here rolled out of the way.
[01:44:20] Probably sort of behind, or should we, uh, left or right, which way did he dive? Uh, left is always right, so yeah, left. Okay. So... The tables have turned, lefties. That's true, yes. So wait, does that mean that he has line of sight of the over here or no? Yeah, he has line of sight. Okay, so you see where the over here is. Yeah. Okay. He's over there. Then I'm gonna go over there, not over here. Mm-hmm. And, uh, yeah, I'm gonna try to stab him with my flag.
[01:44:49] Try to honor the... Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, you know. Roll doom. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Yep. So you get one plus your specialty as the... Yep. And a plus two to the mech because of the mech. Or a third one because of the mech. I really see the benefit of light and medium armor. Like it's nice to be able to take extra hits, but god, getting extra dice on stuff? Yeah. That's so good.
[01:45:19] A one and a two. One or two? Okay, so two successes. Um... Yeah, you just like... He's laying around trying to get the fire and you just stick him and he dies. And he's just like... Yeah. Uh, point of note. If you're attacking with your minigun, then you should also be getting that extra dice. That's... That's true. Yeah. Because it's a stratagem weapon. Yes. You're right. When you're using it, yeah. Yes. Yeah.
[01:45:47] Specifically when I'm using it for something that is suitable for it. Because like, if I call in a stalwart to fight like a frickin' hulk... Well, obviously, then you're using a light armor pen weapon on a heavy unit. So it wouldn't... It just doesn't work. Like, you get the extra dice, you just... It just doesn't do any damage. Mm. Yeah. Or do negligible damage. Because again, like, this is... And it depends on how much we're stimulating it. Regardless of moving on. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So...
[01:46:17] But at that point, if you're using the stalwart against the hulk... Yes. Uh... And, you know, you're doing... And you roll that well, then maybe your shots are ricocheting and taking out other enemies around it. Like the lighter ones. Yeah. Or... Yeah.
[01:46:44] I wouldn't get additional because it's not meant for that, but I still can use it. Yeah. Okay. So, yeah, you've skewered him and he, like, instantly dies from the attack. Just walk up, stab. Yeah. He was on his last legs as he was trying to recover from the fire and then you just, like... You just finish the vitals. Um... Okay. Yeah. As I'm getting up, I'm like, okay, let's hope that's the last engagement because I'm very almost dead. Why don't you use a step back? Oh, yeah. I think that's your second step back, too, right?
[01:47:14] I haven't used one yet. Dude. No. I thought one of you guys used them earlier. We were talking about using vehicle stimpaks. I... I thought you used them. And he took damage and you suggested that he could use a stimpak and he said he didn't want to. I said, because I could still take a second hit because of heavy armor. Yeah. So, yes, you're right. I forgot I had stimpaks because I didn't write them down on the sheet like I did last time. Yes. Uh, and then... We have two total? You have two total, yeah. Is your... Now, you have two hitboxes. So, I... Does one stimp heal both?
[01:47:44] One stimpak is one stimpak. One box. Really? Because usually, hell divers only have... Or, doom droppers only have one hitbox. Yeah, but... So, that's way two. But, in the game... Oh, no. In the game, heavy armor reduces the damage you take. Okay, fine. And when you stimp yourself, you go up to full health anyways. Okay, that's fair. Right. I'm just saying. If you want to change that, that's fine. No, no, it's fine. It's fine. Okay. Um... It does actually also improve the value of wearing heavy armor. Yeah.
[01:48:26] Um... Does your... Your mech has been hit done and damaged, right? Uh... I hit a little bit with the heavy machine gun. Yeah, so you have a hitbox. So, would you like to like... It smoked a little bit. Would you like... Do you want to call down a repair drone? No, it's fine. So, question. Is it at the same state that the FRV was before, where it's... It's super armor has been destroyed. Yeah. It's superb armor has been destroyed. It's all for armor.
[01:48:50] So, now it's standard armor is all that's left, a.k.a. light firearms can kill it now. Yeah. Okay. So, that's how it is right now. That's fine. Okay. Okay. It's one extra hitbox. We have the same number of hitboxes. Yeah. But no, because... So... Okay, so what we're saying is... So here's the... It's not just a hitbox thing for... It is different than your hitboxes. You have two regular hitboxes. Yes.
[01:49:13] A mech and a vehicle have one hitbox, but heavy enemies and heavy obstacles or weapons will knock that out, whereas regular enemy damage will not damage it. But to clarify further, they have two hitboxes, yes, but if you're just getting hit by light arm, light weapon fire, it does nothing. Yeah. As soon as you get hit by a heavy attack, then your really strong armor is weakened.
[01:49:40] So then at that point, for your final hitbox, standard firearms will hurt it now. Yeah. So at the state you're at, if you get shot with a handgun, it will bring it down to its last box and then if you get shot by a handgun again, it blows up. That's okay. Okay. Just letting you know. It does work like that, right? Because it has two hitboxes. Does that mean... It doesn't have two hitboxes. It has one hitbox and then the next hit will kill it. Oh, okay. Yeah.
[01:50:10] So the next hit will kill it. Yes. That's okay. Which means you just have to get out of there. Yeah. In which case you have to roll a drop. Which is a drop. To get out of there. I roll well on drops. Okay. We're good. I wanted to clarify that because I was mixed up. Yeah, I know. I kept hearing you say it. I was confused as well. Alright. So you guys continue on your trek. There's a little bit more activity around the tower. You guys have reached the tower at this point. I'll fix the tower. It's a skyscraper.
[01:50:40] Or like... Not a skyscraper. It's like... It's like one of those disruptor pylon things that the Illuminant have in... So it's like... Okay. It's like a couple of stories high. And it's like emanating a sky beam. And you can see like there's a tear in reality to some weird... Like you're like, look at it. That hurts. Don't look down. Like, nope. Don't want to see... I'm not seeing that. I'm not seeing what's beyond the veil. I don't want to see those false truths. Yeah, exactly.
[01:51:04] And you do see there is just like a circle of the Illuminant units that you guys just fought. Like the things with the swords. So these guys are like kind of in... They're hovering above... Hovering around the tower. The base of the tower. Hovering? Floating around it and like kind of just... Like rotating around it. How many? There's at least a dozen. Oh! Yeah. Okay. And there are a bunch of... Not human supervisors, but there's like lighter units.
[01:51:33] Like you look at them and it's like they might have been human at one point. They look like husks. Like from Mass Effect. Like... Or like a mix between husks and the vocalists. So like they were once human, but maybe they've used too much of their psychic energy or their soul to... And they've now become withered creatures. That are now just thralls to the Illuminant. Okay. Yes. Yes, Aaron. Should my mech have one more hit? Because it has a shield?
[01:52:04] Oh, that's true. That is a good point. Yeah. Because at this point the shield is just cosmetic. I see... Yeah, this is sort of a... This is sort of like thing like on the fly kind of thing. Because it's not really in the rules. But I'd give you an extra hitbox for your shield. Okay. That does make sense. So like maybe your shield is not cracked. Versus the other... Versus the actual mech. Okay. Yeah. So... The shield isn't really... The shield is smoking. No, no, no. It's not... The shield is not smoking but like... If it hits again, it explodes. But like...
[01:52:34] The mech has to make a drop roll. No. I'd say like more like... The shield is like cracked beyond like... Being like effective as a shield. At this point. Like it's not more or less just... But I just still use it to bash things. Yeah, it's more or less just like... It's extra bashing like... Plate. Basically. Okay. Um... I'm just... Just like... The shield's going critical. Just drop and roll.
[01:53:03] If that's actually the case, you should just huck it at the enemies. I was just thinking of the thing. Just like full Captain America with a mech. Yeah. Oh my god. That's great. Uh... But yeah. So yeah, that's what you see in the scene. As you guys approach. Around... Mmhmm. Around the base of it. Almost like a new atmosphere is trying to... Is like invading the atmosphere of this planet. Mmhmm. Um...
[01:53:32] So uh... How would you guys like to proceed? They... Hmm. So I guess um... We're staying out of range. Yeah, you're just out of range basically before they... Because you guys have been like... If you get too close, they might detect you. They may detect your thoughts. Okay. Yeah. We're probably looking at them through binoculars or something. We'll call in reinforcements. And then we'll engage in Operation Human Sheet. Oh yeah, by the way, there is... There is a... For my version of the Doomedroppers, there is a CIF unit like squad. They're called TIEF.
[01:54:02] TIEF. TIEF... What's CIF stand for in the... Super Earth Armed Forces. Yeah, for TIEF, it's TIEF Empire Armed Forces. That works. Sending in the TIEF. Yeah, what color are they? What? They're like white and red. Like red boots, white, and white armor. Just the boots? Yeah, like the gums. They're like the gums of like... Because of the TIEF. Like TIEF. Because they're TIEF.
[01:54:32] Oh! That's why it was being like... I thought it was funny. Oh, they're like just sitting in TIEF. It's like how an orc would say TIEF. He's like, oh, we're sitting... Oh, you knocked the TIEF right out of me. Should they be like... Just pink pants and boots? No, no, no. Like the gums. Red boots. Maybe even like... Actually, red boots and pants, and then the rest of it's like the upper body is like white. Like their helmet and their... What helmet they have in like the... What basic armor they have is white. Would the clothes of the upper body also be red or white? They'd also be white.
[01:55:02] Okay. Maybe like an off-white, and then like the armor itself, like what armor they have is a white. Okay. It's so dumb. Their helmet looks like a molar. Yeah. It's just like... It's like the fucking tooth fairy from Discworld. It's just where they wear like a molar like helmet. Mm-hmm. And the ones that survive a long time, it's chrome, because it's like a... Yeah. It's like a filling. Oh my God. Yeah, that's their officers. It's so stupid. I don't know.
[01:55:31] But it's actually kind of cool. It's so dumb, but I kind of love this version of Helldivers. Yeah. Or our version of like a grunt fantasy game. Mm-hmm. I kind of want to be a teeth guy. I will make... I will like... I can make that an option. It's like you can play as a teeth. A squad of teeth. Yeah. At that point, I think I'd run that in Cthulhu Dark. Because like you're even more off... You're even worse off than a Helldiver or a Doomdiver. Or what you could do is like you're a squad of teeths.
[01:56:01] You have five guys. You have five hitboxes. You have no strategies. Yeah, you're not. Yeah, you're not. Yeah, you're not. That'll be an alternate, an optional like way of play. It's just like... Do the teeth. Like teeth. And then the... Teeth drop. No, then the helmet here is just like... It's just a molar. Mm-hmm. Anyway, we're getting... Everybody gets to have... But everybody does still have grenades.
[01:56:28] And you have a primary weapon and a expendable anti-tank. Mm-hmm. Okay, I was gonna say... You get a primary weapon or a melee weapon. That's it. You don't get... You don't get going with just a sword on one of them. Like... You gotta be like not as good as the Helldrivers. Yeah. But that's why I'm saying... They do often have expendable anti-tanks. Yes. So you get one shot. Yeah. God, I do love this idea.
[01:56:57] I had to make an optional game. It's kind of fun. Where it's just like teeth. Anyway, back to the actual... Back to the game we're actually playtesting. Mm-hmm. So yeah. Actually calling them in could be a stratagem. Yeah. You can call in teeth. Like a squad five. Yeah, it gives you a squad five. Basically... They definitely count as light units. So easily dispatched. Easily killed. Yeah. Send in more teeth. Teeth. You just... As soon as you land. As soon as you land.
[01:57:25] You call in all your stratagems. It's just a bunch of teeth. Teeth. Teeth. Teeth. Teeth. Oh my... And if you have six stratagems, then that's 30 teeth. That's a full mouth. Wow. That's so perfect. Oh my god, that's amazing. Alright, so what are you guys doing? Calling it a bunch of teeth. A bunch of teeth. God, this is the dumbest game. I love it.
[01:57:54] I hate it. I love how silly this game is. Okay, so there's an easy way and a dumb way to deal with this. Easy way is just drop a 500 on and call it a day and we go home. Fun way is dropping a bunch of teeth. We're making sure comms are off at the time. I will say an orbital strike won't be possible until you take out some of those... Oh, it's jamming us.
[01:58:20] Yeah, basically those hovering, like rotating, orbiting units are basically generating a field of repulsion. Mmm. So you won't be able to take out the thing with an orbital strike until you at least damage, like ruin their concentration. Okay. They're concentrating on spell right now. Yeah, basically they're a bunch of Cogniverse space wizards. Spizzards. Spizzards. So you need to break their concentration. I don't like Spizzards. No.
[01:58:49] Okay, well... How far away is it? Are they? You guys are like with... Oh, like... You're out of their range but like you can easily get down there and start wrecking shit if you need to. They're within range that if I just give it the gas on the FRV they'll probably hear us. Yeah. From me revving it that far away but we can... If I had a sniper rifle I could start engaging them and they wouldn't see me right away. Yeah. Well, I have a marksman rifle. Mm-hmm.
[01:59:19] You do. Doot! Doot! Doot! Alright. I'll get out of my mech, climb up on top. Hell yeah, vantage point. Lay down prone. Bear in mind the FRV's turret is gone. Yes, yes. It's transportation right now. Yeah. But he is a turret. Yes. I'll just go in the turret thing with the minigun. He just like... Like... Like... Scrooge it onto it?
[01:59:45] No, like take the old piece off and then like just use that as just like a base to hold it. No! He rips a seat out of the back of the FRV and just sticks it on top of where the turret map was. Yeah, just sit down. And then you can just sit there. No, I'm right off. Mm-hmm. Okay. Alright, I'm climbing up on top of my mech with my marksman rifle. Okay. And I'm gonna start trying to drop boos. Okay. I have a question.
[02:00:14] Would weapon mounts be kind of universal by this point? Like... I would think so. On a minigun, even a handheld one, would there be the same mounting bracket underneath it that I could just kind of like screw it on? In theory, yeah. Cause I mean, most things... Most things currently lock in place by Picatinny or M-Lock. Mm-hmm. So... I don't know if turrets do though. No, they don't.
[02:00:40] But you go far enough in the future and you're gonna start to see things become more and more streamlined, more universal. Yeah. So... Mm-hmm. Like our firearms are all probably manufactured by the same company. Yeah. By the same brand... The same group of companies. Yeah. Mm-hmm. So they're all going to try to make things so that, you know, everything is like... Customizable and usable by military branding. So, yeah.
[02:01:09] So that you can mount anything on that turret. Okay. Everything would have the same mount. Or so I would think. Yeah. It makes sense. Okay, so I could take a minute and like just hook it up onto that. Yeah. Okay, cool. I'll do that. Okay. And I'll just be here chilling off to the side a little bit. Wait for the husks to start running through you guys. I would probably... Like, I'm gonna wait for you to start shooting. Cause once he, yeah, once he starts shooting, regardless of how this is gonna go, those h...
[02:01:37] Like, people are gonna start noticing enemies dropping. Yes. As soon as you start firing, I will coast down... Are we like on the same level as the city, the tower? Yeah. Or do we have elevation? There's no real elevation. You guys are like... But like this area is pretty like flat. So like you guys are kind of... You guys are on a regular plane. On a pretty flat plane. Yeah, it's the tower. Yep. I'm just setting up some stuff. I got some random coins here. A bunch of bad guys around it.
[02:02:07] Yeah. Yeah. You really don't have to do this. I'm doing it. We're here. Okay. Okay, roll your doom to start smacking. Okay. So... I got one dice now. I got just one dice now. Uh, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Just one die six. You did purposefully say that you're... You have elevation. And you're going through. You have the elevation of the mech? So yeah, I give you a two. You get two dice from this one. I'm going through. I'm going through this one.
[02:02:38] And the carpet has a sacrifice. Nope, nope. Nice! Uh, two and a three. Both of those are under. Okay, yeah. Yeah. So you get to... You take about like four or... You take about five of the dozen. Before the husks start seeing what's going on. And um... So they... So they... I'm not a bullet.
[02:03:06] Eject my side mag because... Why not? Because the amendment has a side... Yeah, um... Mounted magazine. Well this is also your amendment from Doom... Doom... Doom dropper. Doom dropper. So it could be whatever the hell you want it to be. Yeah. I kind of like that weird side mag. I was marking it, but I kind of like it. Yeah. It's thrown on me. Yeah. Um, so you see... That's good for prone. Mm-hmm. So after you've like shot down, you've shot like five of them.
[02:03:35] Um, that's when you guys all start hearing this like rasping, like screeching sound. As just like a swarm of these like husk-like humanoids begin like just swarming over like the walls and swarming like swarming out toward you guys. Okay. Like a tide of... I open up with a minigun. All right. Okay, so one for standard attack, one for stratagem, uh, one for preparing it at as a mount. Yep. And uh, one for crowd control. Sure.
[02:04:06] It's shocking I get to roll more than two. I've been not having too many options to roll high. So I am dooming below. That's over. That's over. That's over. I got one. So they reached the... It's been really bad. Daddy's gonna give them the belt. Because it's belt fed? Because it's belt fed. Oh, okay. So one more. That's a good... This is a business.
[02:04:34] I'll say like, if you can get fired, that's the equivalent of helping. That didn't help at all? No. So... Daddy's gonna, I'm gonna give you the... The thing is, you took out a couple of them, but they reached the FRV everywhere. Okay. Swarming the FRV and like rip, and like they're, they're like clawing at your... I should have just been focusing fire, not focusing on trying to go over the fun while shooting. So, um, take a harm. Because they are, they are overrunning your FRV.
[02:05:04] I can't believe I roll so high when I don't want to. Oh my God. But yeah, so now that's the, that's the thing. Um, also the, the other seven, um, uh, repelling, like basically the seven orbiting, um, uh, create entities are now like aware of you guys and are like kind of strengthening, trying to strengthen their, their repulsion field. Okay. So it will make it harder, it will make, uh, it will make it a little bit harder to hit them.
[02:05:34] Because now they're also concentrating, some of them are concentrating on like bullets hitting them. Mm-hmm. But, uh, also then you look over and it's like, oh wow, he's being overrun. A little bit. Like they are just like all like ants crawling over the FRV and on him a little bit. Like he's, he's the doom guy just like... Knee deep in the dead. Yeah, basically, knee deep in the, in the, um, in the husks. Yeah.
[02:06:02] I do like that idea that like, uh, like their light units are just like humans or like, and maybe like other beings like from like, from space that have just like, they've drained of their energy and now they're just like zombies. Mm-hmm. The chong-ness. Yeah. The chong-ies. Yes. Call them chong-ness. Chong-ness. Oh God. Anyway, so yeah, that's, uh, that's what's happening. So, um, yeah, uh, or uh, Joe, where about you? Uh, okay.
[02:06:31] You're gonna have a little bit more focused firepower if you want to take out one or two of the, uh, those guys at a time. Uh, no, I'm gonna, I'm gonna help my friends. So I'm climbing back, swinging back down into my, uh, into my mech, mounting my flag. As you swing in. As I swing in. To start her out. You see, you, you get in. There's, there's one of those zombies in there trying to like, trying to move and it's like, get the fuck outta here. Throw him out. What? Oh, one of them got passed. Yeah.
[02:07:00] I just like the idea, like he swings in like, what? You guys like look at each other and then just like, from outside. Wah! I just like. Will hum scream. Yeah. Just gets him defenestrated up the, up the hatch. He stops the window just to knock him through. Ha ha ha ha. Splass. Hmm. Okay. So I'm going to, uh, get my mech and, and, uh, bring my flag. I'm gonna swing it really low across the ground. Yep.
[02:07:29] Um, to try to take a, a bunch out that are, that are at the, the side of the truck without, you know, ripping the truck to pieces. That's it. Hopefully this, don't fail. Ha ha ha. Okay. Uh, I think it's just two. Yeah. Oh, no, cause one, like, oh. Always a base, always a base line. And one.
[02:07:59] Then you have one for the mech and one for your, uh, because you're using your flag. And you are a banner. I'm not about bannering. Yeah. And low is good? Uh, low is what you're looking for. Yeah, you drew a turn and roll under. Oh, it doesn't matter. I got a four and a two. Yep. Um, yeah. You managed to. And six. Basically swipe all the ones that are around the FRV and that haven't climbed onto the FRV. You managed to just like, just like wipe them out.
[02:08:29] Did you do like a horizontal slash or are you going eh eh eh eh? Instead I did a horizontal slash so that the flag could like wave behind. I approve. Nice. Um, can I also reach over with my shield hand and like grab Dave by the scruff of his neck? With your, with your, with your, with your gold neck. With my neck? And just put him up on top of the mech?
[02:08:57] That would be a drop roll to not, like, to not crush him accidentally. Cause that's some real like, that's some real like fine motor skills you're doing. So that's a, that's a drop roll. I'm sorry. How much do you trust me? That's gonna be hilarious either way. Okay. I trust you. Okay. So, uh, well I'm light armor and I get one anyway. And I'm using my neck.
[02:09:34] One, two, all hits. Nice. Oh yeah. They like picked up and popped and propped up on the, on the walker. So I was on the turret. Yeah. You're really like, and they're clawing at you. Like they're just like tearing at your, like at the, at your fatigues like on behind, like beneath your armor. Like wherever they can get like the, like the claw, like they're like fingers are now just like tapered into claws and something. They're just like shredding at your fatigues and like, I'm going to straighten the arms. You're just getting like, you have so many cuts in your biceps and stuff like that.
[02:10:03] And you're just like, again, you're, you're the doom guy just like, like, and you're just like crawling up on you, like trying to grip, like pull you down. And then just this robot hand just like grabs you. It just pulls you off. A couple of them are hanging, dangling on you for a moment and then they fall off. Well, we'll say you grab me by my ammo backpack. Yeah. That's actually a pretty good grabbing spot. Yeah. And then yeah, it just like pops you onto its, uh, onto its, uh, the top of itself. So as you pulled me back, I probably went, Oh shit.
[02:10:32] And like disconnected my belt from the mini gun. That's, that's locked on top. Oh no, so you've lost the mini gun. Yes. That's happy. Yeah. It's still there. I can get it later. Unless the FRB just happens to have a self-destruct option. At least call in another mini gun. It's true. It's true. You could always call in another mini gun. Just call in an FRB. At least call it in on your position. Or call an FRB, a new FRB directly on top of your old FRB.
[02:11:02] Yeah, so land on it, explode and destroy both of them. But it will also kill all the enemy forces. At that point I might as well just drop like an horrible strike on it. True. Yeah. Okay, so my turn? Yep. Okay, so I am on top of the mech. So there are a bunch of little guys. Yeah. Around. And uh... Mostly the ones that are like, there's just like half a dozen. Or no, there's a dozen on the FRB.
[02:11:32] Yes. And there's some, there's still some of the... No, actually all the ones that were on the ground have been like swiped away. No, the tower. Oh, around the tower. There's still some level. There's still a few guarding the tower, but like most of the, the things that are on the tower are still just like the seven hovering setinals basically. Okay. All right. Um, so what I'm going to do is I'm gonna throw a grenade. Okay. At the crack. I have uh, I think the grenades I take the most are impact grenades.
[02:12:01] The one, so you're throwing the grenade at the ones that are on your FRB? I mean, yeah, I might just sacrifice the vehicle at this point. I like this vehicle though. It's been doing me good. I probably shouldn't kill it. It deserves to live. I mean, you can probably call down a drone and fix it even after it blows up, right? I don't know. Chassis. Will they bring it back to life? Talking like it's dead. You, I would say like for the sake of the like, again, for flavor and something, you
[02:12:28] can, if you want to like just have this one that you can set, you can call in like an emergency like, like a- Or would I have to burn two to bring it back? Yeah, I'd say you had to bring in two because like one's not enough. Basically. That's fair. Okay. Regardless, there's a bunch of little guys. Um, I have a Schust gun underneath my other Schust gun. So I'm gonna Schust. Okay, so Schusten. I will Schust. Uh, so height advantage, crowd control, standard attack.
[02:12:58] Um, do I have a bonus because I'm using a spread shot weapon against a cluster of guys? Yeah. You're a crowd control specialty, so yeah. Yes. But I mean like on, so standard attack, height advantage, crowd control. Do I get an additional because of shotgun or no? No. On top of that. That's fine. Okay, so three. Basically I would say like the base version is basically just like your weapon is included in the base like die six.
[02:13:28] Yes. Like your, the weapon you went down with. Not anything you summoned. Mm-hmm. Well I was just basically asking if like me using something that is a shotgun does that have a benefit in close range due to it. Like the force. That's your crowd control options. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay, fine. And I'm rolling doom. That's very unfortunate. All misses. Yeah, yeah. I was so careful to not hit the FRV that like I just kept whiffing on the guys. Yeah, it goes wrong.
[02:13:57] The COC says how things get worse somehow. Uh, I'm gonna say, um, uh, you, your shot misses the enemy but hits the, uh, the flaming fuel, the flamer fuel tank inside the, uh, inside the, of the back of the FRV. Mm. And just the entire FRV erupts into flamer into explosion of fire and actually a piece of shrapnel hits you. That's fair. Does it, how many harm but you have like one harm but you have like one harm but you have I'm, I'm good to go. Yeah.
[02:14:26] Oh, you don't, you're, you're. I stimmed. Okay. Uh, well then you mark another harm but you have a piece of shrapnel just like pegs you. Yep. And yeah, your, your baby's on fire and gone. No! But, like, uh, and, and actually the blast knocked most of the ones that were still on it off and, but most of them are actually still miraculously alive. Fuck! I was gonna say, at least you went out in a blaze of glory. I mean it did. And then they started getting a cha-cha-cha-cha-cha through the flames. Yeah.
[02:14:56] I would probably salute the, uh, the, the FRV that it's, it went out doing its job defending destiny. You manifested its destiny. Yes. And then as soon as they started getting up, it's like, oh. You're, you're, you're, you're like, melodious destiny! No! Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, it's my turn. Uh, what would, uh, Griffin like to do?
[02:15:26] Is it not the enemy turn? Oh yeah, sorry, the enemy, yeah. Um, yeah, so the, the, uh, the rest, the ones that have like, they get up pretty quickly and then they just start running for the, for the mech. Um, however, those guys are like, again, pretty, like, they're not, they're not trying to climb up on the mech. However, uh, you guys see a flash from the sky as a, something comes down through their, through that rift above the, uh, the comms tower. Um, being flung down to the ground by a tentacle.
[02:15:54] By like a massive, like, like, just this massive tentacle just like, comes out like, like, like, comes out of the rift and just flings something down. And then what- Down where? Like, down onto the, into the ice between you guys and the tower. Okay. Um, and, uh, it uncurls and you realize it's another, another fackin'. FACKIN' HELL! Yeah, so I, I kinda like the fact that, I kinda like the idea that the elucidates use, uh, tentacular trebuchets. That's pretty sick.
[02:16:23] To like, launch their, so you guys have like, your gun, your gun grapplers. Some grapplers. They just fling their, their, their troops down. That's awesome. It's more fun than them just being like, bleep, we're here. Because of magic. Just, yeah. Just, they phase in. It's magic. Yeah. It's magic. Um, and yeah, so now you guys have another fackin'. Um, and it's approaching, and it's, it's charging its laser. And all the little guys are swarming us a little bit? Yeah. Yeah, they're all just like around your feet.
[02:16:51] Like they'll, they'll, they'll, you, you could easily dispatch them, um, before they, before they get on the, like up. But like, you wanna do that before, otherwise they will get up out there and start attacking him again. Mmhmm. Okay. Uh, but you also have a fackin' showing up with his laser beam. Fackin' HELL! Mmhmm. You guys are both bathed with this, that, that red purple like blinking light. Yeah. As they're, they're targeting spotlight. Like, do you want me to start stomping or do you want me to throw a spear? This is your only spear though.
[02:17:20] It is, well, no, I have a little one too. It's the ignition for the, yeah. Yeah, you take that, you're taking the key out at that point. Well, no, I, I, I'd obviously be throwing the giant one. Oh, I see. Yeah. I mean, if you think you can hit it this range, but. Yeah, like if you're throwing the human side of it, it would be like, like throwing a toothpick. A little bit. Throwing a dart. It's a dart, yeah. Mmhmm. Um, but, uh, conversely I could just drop a, uh, a cow drop on him. Yeah.
[02:17:50] Yeah, he's, he is out of the, uh, out of the bubble of, uh, of repulsion. Mmhmm. From the tower. So. Orbital rail cannon strike? Mmhmm. Mmhmm. Okay. I'm gonna start stomping. Alright. Uh, you may want to. Hold on. Yeah. Roll drop. Uh, don't bother rolling doom, you're just gonna squish them. They're like, they're light infantry weapons. Like, they're light units that you just. That can't hurt me. Yeah, exactly. So you're just squishing. Like, like they're ants. Yes. Basically. So. Yeah.
[02:18:18] What is my, uh, so just one right now I guess? What? Because I don't think I have any bonuses. No, yeah, just roll one. And I hope for the best. Ah! Well, I mean there's handles up there. Oh yeah, yeah, it is a mech. Yeah, it would have handles. Yeah, if I was up there with nothing. You'd have two dice. You'd have two dice. You'd roll two dice. Okay. Appreciate you taking me a little, a little pity on my crappy hands. That is, even if you succeed on your one, that's still a, that's still barely a magic. So. Mmhmm. Oh no. So, drop. Yeah. So I'm rolling over. Yes. I won.
[02:18:48] Won? I rolled over with one. Okay, so you're just like, ah! Like you're like banging around, like you're holding with one hand because the other one's like gotten loose. Mmhmm. And you're just like, you're like not taking a damage but you're just like, you're barely hanging on as he's like, stomp around. Okay. Um, and then yeah, um, uh, that's when the laser beam from the eye fires. Oh, I don't get a turn? No. Because you're- Because I did poorly? Yeah.
[02:19:17] So, I will give you another drop to get the fuck out of that way of that beam. You may also roll drop to get your mech out of the way because that beam will take out a hit point of your mech. Mmhmm. And it will just insta-kill you. Okay. If you don't succeed this. Yeah, even me with my heavy armor? Yeah. No, it's gonna make price. Okay. It's a heavy armor. Yeah. Right, because I don't have vehicle heavy armor, I just have two hit boxes. No, you just have two hit boxes. Uh, Dave should be fine.
[02:19:47] You sure about that? If he's holding onto me, I got two hits. No, uh, okay. Hmm. Yeah, basically, I would need to roll if it looked like I was gonna be hit by him. Roll- so you're rolling to hang on then. Because he's- he's having- you're also, like, rolling to get out of the way from the beam. Yeah. So yeah. So I'm rolling drop? Yeah, you're rolling drop to basically hang on so that you don't, like, get out of the- you're not, like, in the way of this thing. I did not hold on. Okay. I rolled a one. Yep. All right.
[02:20:16] So you go flying into the beam shot. Possibly. Um, what'd you get? I got two hits. Okay, yeah. You, like, shuffle to the side like a crab. And unfortunately that jostling was just another shit and then you, like, slip off the handle. Yeah. And hit the ground. Um, and yeah, you get taken out. Mm-hmm. Yep. Doomdaver is no more. Doomdaver is dead. Mm-hmm. You are- you land, it's like, oh, I'm fine!
[02:20:45] Just like- And it's just my boots left. Exactly. Shadow left. Mm-hmm. Yeah, and that's- that's up for you. So, um- No, I'm dead dead. Polonia is destiny! No! Finally. Um, well, it's time to, uh, call on reinforcements. Beep boop beep. Yeah, so you have to spend a strat- Oh no, you don't have to spend a stratagem for this one. So you can just call in another unit. Well, would he? Actually, spending stratagems to call on reinforcements- You think that would be-
[02:21:12] Not a bad, uh, not a bad, uh, tradeoff. Okay. Especially if- Especially if there's a linked pool between- That's true, yeah, we have- I gotta- I gotta focus on that next, uh, next time I play this. Mm-hmm. Yeah, okay, so yeah, you spend a- You spend a stratagem for that? Sure. Okay. So does that mean in this turn of combat you are foregoing attacking for the purpose of sending out a reinforcement? I mean, I wouldn't think that I would have to. Though it is time consuming to beep boop beep boop beep boop beep boop. Mm-hmm.
[02:21:41] Um, but I'm already spending a- A finite resource to call you in. So, I don't know. I don't know. For the- for the sake- It's whatever's fun and whatever's balanced. Yeah. Yeah. As far as- as far as fun and balanced, I would say probably not. Um, but necessary? No. Uh, so if you- if you want me to-
[02:22:11] I mean, you can also, like, even if you, like, spend- Cause the thing about, like, the stratagements we have is, like, once you spend all your stratagements, you have to roll to refresh. Mm-hmm. So. Mm-hmm. Yeah, I'm gonna have to roll to refresh next turn anyway. Um, but in any event, uh, so do I have to get out of my mech to call in the stratagements? Yeah. Or can my mech call in? Okay, here's the thing.
[02:22:36] Uh, in Helldivers 1, all the mechs had a stratagem launcher on the mech. Oh my god, that's so fucking cool. I know. Why? So you- you can walk around in the mech and just throw- and you- you- when you're walking around, you're programming what you're gonna shoot out and just go boom! And just shoots out, there's a red beam. Okay, a 500's coming down. You don't have to get out of your mech. And in Helldivers 2, that module is rendered on all the mechs. They have it hidden currently because they don't have it hooked up. So-
[02:23:04] Everyone wants it because it's in the first game. Yeah. So- and especially because this is like our version of Helldivers, like- I'd allow it, I'd allow it, yeah. Great. So I'm gonna call him in, um, and uh, I'm gonna launch his, uh, beacon at the Focken. Yeah. Okay. Send me in, coach. Do you wanna roll a Doom to see if it latches onto the Focken? Fuck yeah, I do. Because otherwise it'll just land, like, harmlessly somewhere else. Okay, I might be able to aim it though.
[02:23:34] Yeah. One, because this cost me a stratagem. Mm-hmm. Two, because I'm doing it from my mech. It probably has like a targeting computer inside to assist me there. Three, because reasons. Well, because I get one anyway. Yeah, fair enough. You're saying. And... Four, because I'm a Bannerman and this is about morale. Okay. I'll give you that.
[02:24:05] Yeah. I got- Oh no, hang on, you want high actually for Doom, for Drop. Oh, you said this was Doom. Oh no, I got a rule Doom. Yeah, yeah. Doom for accuracy. Honestly, it doesn't matter. I rolled two twos and a five and a six. So I got two hits either way. And yeah, you do it. It lands like on its like, on the top of its head. Nice. Yeah. It's just like blinking and like flaring up. Like, to light. And so yeah, that's when suddenly like- So suddenly, Doomdavor, you're uh- Or is this Doomdavor or is this a new person?
[02:24:34] Of course I'm Doomdavor, I'm the same- Yeah, it's just a clone of the same guy. I'm Doomdavor the second. Yeah. Um, so yeah, you've got a- Yeah, you're being brought and sent down. You're being de-thawed and then immediately sent down. Thawed, not de-thawed. Being de-thawed as first. So you're being thawed and then like sent immediately digitized and back into a dood drop, into a drop pod and just drop down. Yeah, so um- That's it. That was true. Meanwhile, in space, the spaceship is loading-
[02:25:04] Cal's just like loading another drop pod into his gun. He's like, Cal ain't this precisely. Used to scope. He stops for a second, he pulls a scope out, mounts into the revolver. Oh, this makes sense- Lines it up with the bridge of the ship so he can actually see down the scope. Yeah. The ship's like- It's like, its lens changing, its orientation. Yeah.
[02:25:34] Should the revolver have a laser sight on it that goes down to the space- That is the targeting laser. Yeah. It like geosynchronizes with the call drop. Yeah. Yeah. The beam doesn't come from the thing you throw. It comes from the space. Yeah, Link's on the map. Yeah. Actually, I really like that. Yeah. And then yeah- Cause we have to make it different. Yeah.
[02:26:04] And then yeah, you're just like- So um, I guess make a doom roll to try and like- For accuracy purposes? Yeah. To see how like- How- See if you actually damage the fat- The faken in the process. So- You get an exercise six because he- Yes. Like, get him on it. Yes. Standard plus one. Yes. Okay. And this is doom. I have to roll under. Yes. Which I'll totally do. Hell no. No, I saw that, yeah. For the six. So like, just as it seemed like you were gonna headshot-
[02:26:34] Like your drop pop was gonna headshot the faken, it like moves to the side and you like hit behind it like- And it shatters and it digitizes and you're right behind the faken as it slowly turns to look at you. Yeah. This is fine. Yeah. What would you like to do now that you're- It's my turn? Yeah, your fresh greenhorn doomdavor. Mm-hmm. I am. Shit. Okay.
[02:27:03] Actually thought out doomdavor. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Definitely not a clone. No, definitely not. Why would I be- Definitely not doomdavor 25602. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Yeah, every mission we die so much. I'm sure. Scary. The horror of this game is when you realize that everybody on- every doomedropper on this planet is just doomedaver and griffins. Yes. Just different ships and different ships but save the fun-
[02:27:32] But all of the griffins think they're number 69. Yeah, of course. Which is why they keep making like dick and sex jokes. Yeah, that makes sense. Okay. Does that mean that griffin is just like played by Neil Patrick Harris as a- guy from How I Met Your Mother? Pretty much. Yeah. What was that guy's name? Uh, shit. Uh. Barney. Barney. Yes. Sorry. Okay. Um. You're about to get squished. Question. Yes.
[02:28:01] Can I call down a stratagem? A weapon stratagem? Oh, you need to roll another die six to see how many- Oh, right. I have to re-roll my stratage. Yeah. Yes. Okay. What does that count up to? Well, no. Should we know- Yeah, we talked about this earlier. Like, every time you come back down, you have a chance to re-roll your- You're- Okay, but if it's the same ship and it still has the same cylinder loaded- Right, yeah, we're going on the- Okay, yeah. I-
[02:28:31] We are here to play test this for you, sir. Yes. We're play testing. So, cock, tell me who you want me to do this. I did say for this game specifically, I want to try to play as rules as well. Okay. Yeah, so re-roll. Re-roll. Six again. Okay. It's meant to be. Nevermind. I roll really high today. Unfortunately, sometimes. Yeah. I should just drop all the time and just not attack. Just let you do all the attacking. Alright, so yeah, you can spend a stratagem if you'd like to- and then run.
[02:29:01] Okay, so my question in regards to the stratagem is- Yeah. Calling down the stratagem, if it's a weapon or something that I have to grab, can I call it down, grab it, and use it in the same turn? In the middle of combat. Because we haven't tried that yet. Yeah, I'd love that. Yeah, because that's basically- You're foregoing a drop to get away from the Fakun, the heavy unit basically, in place of just trying to shoot it before it gets you. Yes.
[02:29:27] Alternatively, if he can't both call it and an attack, you could say that calling it in can be used as an attack. Because you said he's right behind it. Yeah. Well yeah, because I could throw it underneath his feet. Right? And just wait for it to come down. Oh, it's foot. It's foot, sorry. Yes. Because we've decided, in this iteration of the game, they have one-legged, like a singular pot. Which is fun, honestly.
[02:29:57] It's pretty neat. Okay. A monopod. I could have been a singular pot. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. We could have made him dumber. We could have made him a unicycle. Just all the old. Anyway, continue. Okay, yes. Okay. So, guy's just right there, though. Hmm. Hmm.
[02:30:22] Conversely, you are between, like, you guys, you're pretty close, you're now pretty close to the tower, and like, you might be able to try and trick him into shooting the tower. Just run away! No, like, basically, like, be the target, like, if he's gonna charge his laser at you again, and just either roll drop to, like, get out of the way before the blast hits, so that, and, but like, because you're doing this, you're basically, like, having so that
[02:30:52] the blast hits their comm tower that they're shooting things from. Um, or you get vaporized in the process and still do it, but. Which is probably the case. Okay, um. It's a deal, though. Like, that's just an option. Like, I think if you realize, like, something, like, where you're positioned, like, you have the option to maybe trick this thing to hurt into killing its own, like, into disrupting their own communication power. Okay. So, um, I think, okay, so calling something down. Yeah.
[02:31:17] Could I theoretically call something down and attack with it, or call something down to get it coming down and run away? Like, that's kind of. Yeah. Like, I will say. I have time to do both. I can't run away and attack while it's coming down. Yeah. No. Cause I. And grab it. You also don't have any heavy, like a heavy enough weapon to take out the Fakon, cause it's a heavy unit. Correct. It's an one shot killer. Yeah. So, like, you have a chance to basically, like, call something down and use it immediately
[02:31:45] to try and take out that thing before it takes you out. But, um, or call something down and get, and get out of the way from this thing and then run back and get your, whatever you're trying to get. Um, either one is going to incite a roll, either doom or drop, and a failure will need death again. Of course it will. Yeah. But that, I mean, if that's how it is, that's how it is. That's the hell's ever way. I mean, the doom or ever way. Yeah. Okay.
[02:32:08] So if you'll allow, uh, I'm going to call down a, uh, a stratagem on his position, a, uh, support weapon. Uh, so should I see if that hits him first to wound him and, or kill him and then go from there or. I didn't just, just roll. Like you said. If I'm, if I'm calling it down for the purpose of taking it, I can call it down and take it. Yeah. But if I'm calling it down for the purpose of hurting him, I can't take it. Yeah. In this round. Exactly. Okay.
[02:32:35] So I'm going to try to not hit him with it and just get it beside me. So it's easily grabbable so I can take it and use it. Okay. So, okay. And then spend your, spend your, yep. Spend your stratagem point and then, uh, roll doom. Cause as it comes to edit, when it comes down, you can immediately grab it and just fire. Okay. Or use it or whatever. What are you, what are you calling down? Uh, there would be one to do that. I don't have any bonuses on this, I think because, oh, stratagem bonus.
[02:33:01] Um, maybe an additional bonus, uh, because it's very, it's suitable for this situation because we're calling down a chainsaw to use in melee cause I'm already right there. You're just going to like try and like, right in Achilles. Nice. Um, so would I get a third for using a melee weapon in melee? Yes. I guess the heavy enemy. Okay, cool. I will, I'll attempt to do this. So I need to roll doom. Right? Yes. Try and tear until it is done.
[02:33:31] Yes, that's the idea. Do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do. It will suck. It sucked. No, it's two hits. Two hits? Two hits. Alright, you, you do it. I did something! Well, it doesn't do that. Yeah! Yeah! You, uh, you, you, you, you, you, you grab, like, you grab it as it tries to stomp on you and then you're just like... And just start, like, chainsawing through its, its, its ankle. Yeah.
[02:33:59] I'll like, probably jump up onto it and grab it while I'm like... Yeah, you jump onto, like, the top of like its foot and then, like, as it tries to stomp down and then, yeah, you just start, like, cutting, carving in, like, purple ichor and, like, the alien blood or whatever the alien blood is, it just starts, like, spraying all over you. Oh, so this isn't a machine? No, this is a, this is a biological entity. That's sick. It's like a biotech thing, yeah. Nice. Yeah, these things are like, like a kai, it's like a kaiju you're fighting. No, like, like a mini kaiju. Uh-huh. Uh, unit. Actually, are the...
[02:34:29] The tripods, I think, are also... Are they actually... ...technogenic, at least. Yeah, because there's no pilot in those, right? There's pilots in the weird mech ones, but not the rocket ones. Either way, that's what happens. I'm treating this one more like the tripods from, uh, from, um, it makes it like the tripods from Helldivers, but also the ones from Half-Life, which were, like, basically a crustacean tripod creature. Mm. So yeah, you're just like... ...vrrrrr, just carving through it.
[02:34:54] Um, yeah, so it is, uh, yeah, in fact, I'll say, you cut it, you cut its foot, like, pretty well off. Mm. I'm like, still tendons to left, but, and it's gonna come down. Roll drop to get away from before, and not be crushed by the falling... That's fair. ...by the falling... I'm gonna try to grab it and stop it from falling on him. That would be, yeah, I've, uh, let's have that... Can you get to it? How... Did you squash all the guys? Okay, yeah, yeah. No, that was... You do have a bunch of minions in me. No, no.
[02:35:24] Those guys are squashed, like, when you first died. Oh, all of them are dead. Yeah. Okay, cool. All super dead. Yeah. Cool. Alright, so now I'm rolling to get out of the way. Well, hang on, before you do that, let's see how he does. Cause he's basically gonna, his roll, like, his success on his roll will give you an extra dive to, like, get away. Mm-hmm. Are you grabbing onto him with your hand or grabbing onto him with a poke? I am going to try to wedge him upright with a poke. Mm-hmm.
[02:35:54] You're giving him a second leg? Yes. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Oh, sorry, is this a drop or...? This would be Doom, cause you're, like, running in there pretty aggressively. Then three hits. Okay, yeah. You succeed, critically. Nice. So, yeah, in fact, you don't even have to roll, Dave. You, like, you're, like, about to run... No, you're about to, like...
[02:36:24] And then, like, you realize, like, nothing's falling on you. I did not make that noise. I made a manly noise, like... And then, as you, like, look back and, like, see that you're not crushed, you see that... That's your battle cry. Yeah. It's just, like, it's, like, just stuck on a spear that's, like, embedded in the ground, like, near you and into its head. Yeah. And, like, again, another one, like, another spear piece that goes right through its eye and, like, out the other side.
[02:36:52] So, it's, like, it's slowly, slowly going down the pole. Is it dead? Yeah, it's dead. Okay. I was gonna say, if it's not dead... Between your chainsaw and this impalement, yeah. It's dead. Slid down the pole, just past the flag, so that now the flag can... It's just way crazy again. Covered in purple blood. It's a little work ichor, yeah. Yes. But, yeah, that's the end of the fact, and all the outward husks and such. Mm-hmm.
[02:37:19] That just leaves the seven overhears, or the overhear... The flying overhears. Yeah, the sentinels, basically. Yeah. And they kind of, like, shirk a little bit, but then they're like, we got to raise yourself. Like, in their alien type of... They're just like, ready, man? Let's go. Oh, come on, step over a tentacle and all that. They were scared seeing the flag of Manifest Destiny fluttering in the wind.
[02:37:47] Seeing the Time Art Empire flag just floating there. But yeah, they start to... They actually start to... They continue their, like, Shield of Repulsion, but then you guys start, like, your head starts getting, like, a migraine, and, like, they are now trying to, trying to, um, uh, trying to cause some kind of, like, harm on you guys, specifically. Mm. So... How do they do that to me if they can't see me? It's, it's coming through still, because they can see the mech. I'm just curious.
[02:38:18] Yeah, yeah. They know... They elucidate and know that there's a pilot in the mech. Yeah. So... They fought us for a while. This isn't a first encounter situation. They've been doing... You guys have been at this for years. Mm-hmm. Uh... So do we roll, or...? Yeah, uh, well, yeah, this would be, uh, you guys can either try and, like, run in and attack them, like, and, like, just kind of eat up the harm, or you can try and, like, use drop to find some way to, like, tune out their psychic assault.
[02:38:46] Is there a jagged edge on my shield? There... We did establish it was a broken shield. I shot the shit out of it with a heavy machine gun, so probably. Great. Is there a reason you wanted to know that? Yes. Because I'm gonna use the jagged edge of my shield to chop off the arm of the Falken. Okay. Nice. And then I'm gonna try to Falken them up. With... Okay. Well, like...
[02:39:15] I'm gonna beat them with the arms, like, batter up. Okay. Well, I'm gonna throw it. Okay. Alright, um... It's like a boomerang. Yeah, it'll come back. I'll say no role required for, like, cutting the arm off and stuff, but the role will actually come from, like, you, like, throwing this large, like, arm at... Improvised weapon. Yeah, this improvised weapon. So yeah, so you can roll a doom. I'm not sure if we can do this. I think we need a hand. Nice. I'm gonna take a D6 on that.
[02:39:45] Uh, also what are you doing, dude? Because you're also, like, getting, like... Your mind's being crushed by their psychic assault. So, like, how do you want to try and tune that out, or... Um... Uh, or do you want to just, like, run in and just start, like, trying to, like, get one and just try and break their hold on you? I reach down to my belt and just click the play button on my Walkman as the Doom... Just Walkman. Yeah. Exactly. As my not-DOOM-Eternal soundtrack kicks in with the, uh, the only thing they fear is you.
[02:40:14] Just, like, on blast. Do-do-do. Yeah, that one, yeah. Do-do-do. Doom. Doom. Doom. Doom. All right, when you guys are doing the Doom... I... You're doing it wrong. It's Doom. Doom. Doom. I was saying Doom. Oh, okay. I didn't hear the F. No, I didn't say it enough. No, no, we got the wrong Doom song. Doom. Doom.
[02:40:45] Doom. You're like, you have to understand Invader Zim was great the first time I watched it. And then my little brother had a son that he was obsessed with. He had a box set, a special edition box set that was a house that opened up at the top. And he watched it every day. All the summer. So he heard that every day.
[02:41:15] It's like me and my sisters used to watch, my sisters one summer watched Footloose every fucking weekend. That's fun. I hate Footloose now. I've only seen it once, I'm sorry. Anyway, so yeah, you've got a music blaring out there Psychic Assault. As I'm threateningly walking towards it. Yes. Actually, I'd say Doom. Doom roll? You've got the Doom theme going.
[02:41:44] Doom droppers theme going. Cool. How many dice? Two dice. Doom is under. Doom is under, yeah. One under, one over. Okay, so you... The start of the song is a little slow so it starts getting through a little bit. Yeah, it's taking its time to take effect on you. You're like, nope, Manifesting doesn't have to look cool as I'm trudging towards him with a bloody chainsaw. Yeah, you're like cutting down a couple of
[02:42:14] stray husks that are coming in from the barricades and stuff they've erected around the tower and such. Hot. Yeah. Meanwhile, roll it, you roll your Doom to... I got one hit out of four dice. Damn. Alright, so you take out one of the guys but then... But it doesn't arc around and come back like a boomerang. It just keeps going
[02:42:43] and it flops around on the other side. So you only manage to get one of them. You hook it at the tower and it hits the tower and it just wraps around the tower and stays on it. Yeah. Isn't it like multi-elbowed? Or is that just little guys? They're multi-elbowed. No, they're all multi-elbowed. Oh, okay. The whole alien species of the Elucidate are like multi-elbowed creatures. So it's possible it hit, wrapped around and then just slid down like a donut. Yeah, exactly. And that's when you hear from the other six
[02:43:13] Elucidate overhears. You actually hear them in your mind. It's like, what you're doing is wrong. Your entire homeworld is lying to you. You're not even the original Griffin. Join us. I'm Griffin 69. I'm the best one. Nice. You gotta roll drop now to try and fight off this they're trying to elucidate you.
[02:43:41] They're trying to spread their truth. To you. Fuck yeah. What was that? A six and a four. Nice. That's 69 is nice. Fair enough. Unfortunately, you don't get nine in this one. But yeah. Yeah, you're like, no. Manifest destiny.
[02:44:12] And yeah, you just continue. I guess you're walking toward them. Like I said, much like, so Doondae was like, run, like how much, grr, grr, grr, grr, grr. And then meanwhile behind you, the mech's even the same. Yeah, because it's me struggling to have to control. Yeah. Yeah, exactly. But like the sounds of the mech happened to line up perfectly with the song.
[02:44:49] Victory walk after, okay. Yeah. As you guys march back to the, to the, is the eagle that like picks you guys up? Or is it the pelican? So as the stork comes to pick you up. Yeah. Also like now, my headcan is the stork. Because the stork doesn't actually pick you up like you don't get in the stork. The stork comes down with a bindle. Yeah, they come with again one of those platforms where like a little bindle platform doesn't get in and then they take you up. We just die from exposure in space.
[02:45:19] No, no, no. It's vacuum soon. Okay. It's like a gondola. Yeah. Like a little gondola. They don't actually have a hanger bag in the actual stork vehicle. Oh god, it's so stupid. It really is. Anyway, but where are we going to get there? Unless we get rid of this comm tower. So yeah, you guys are fighting off the elucidates psychic attacks. What are you guys doing next? You guys now have
[02:45:48] the spotlight to try and take out more of the over here symbols. Okay. And are we within the jamming radius now? Yeah, you guys are in the heart of the you're within the tower's radius. You're within their perimeter. Okay. And these psychers are basically these levitating psychic attackers are just basically
[02:46:18] focusing all forward firepower upon you guys. And there's a couple of husks left close to the foot of the tower, but there's not a lot of other things. So you guys are really just being pelted by psychic assault. By psychic assault. It's in my third eye. Okay, question. Before I get in range, could I drop another stratagem before I get like as soon as I'm walking up and I'm noticing static,
[02:46:48] can I take a step back and drop something while he steps ahead? I just want to call that another stratagem. I'm just going to call down a guard dog for backpack. Okay. Like the laser one, I guess, because they're pretty neat. So yeah, that's what I'm doing. Okay. It's okay, it can't hurt me as long as I'm in this. That's true. Alright, so then what are you doing there, Griffin? Because that's basically your turn. Yes, yes, yes. Me like preparing. Okay, well,
[02:47:17] I'm going to try to get within range of one of the overgears. Okay. Actually, I'm going to try to stab it. Alright, make another drop roll because again, you're fighting this psychic attack, like it's getting even stronger the closer you get. Also, can you give me a iced tea? Yeah. My throat is getting real rough. Do you talk a lot? That's a bad thing. We want you to talk a lot. I didn't take it that way. It sounded like it in my head. It sounded that way.
[02:47:48] Do you have any cold ones or no? I don't know. Unfortunately, I just bought these. Okay. One hit. One hit? Okay. Yeah, again, you're getting like, it's like, you may be 69, but you could be 6'7". Ah, fuck this ass. They must die. You take one hard box. Emotional damage. Okay. What the hell? Oh, God, I felt so wrong. What? I just
[02:48:18] ticked down my sheet with my right hand. Ew. Right? Fucking ew. You're like me doing my left hand. Yeah, I'm like a child. I don't think I can draw with my I can't even, I literally I don't like, I can't even write with my left hand. What's funny is my cursive on a blackboard is fine with my right hand. Really? But I can't write on paper with my Is it just the orientation? Like if the paper was on the wall you'd be fine? Dave. No, I also have to do it larger.
[02:48:48] I tried to write 28 with my left hand. Wow, that's rough. That's worse than my right hand. Oh, yeah, I can't do it. It's the same situation you guys can't do it with your right hand. Let me do a 28 myself with in fairness boys, most teenagers their writing
[02:49:18] is like that these days. That's unfortunate. Yeah, like that's not bad. That's actually pretty good. That looks like a 28 but like my normal 28 is like that much easier. Alright, back to our fantasy game where you've taken some psychic damage but you get up to the
[02:49:48] end. You get right up close to the tower. Spear. Mech. Me. As you wipe your nose. You can't make me flag behind. Nice. As you wipe the blood out of your nose. Yeah. Not that they can see me do that. It's for you. It's just for me. I mean with a psychic ability they might be able to see through and see his face. They're like in your head
[02:50:18] so they can see you. Yeah. And I want low. Yeah, if you're doing doom, yeah. Four hits. Nice. Yeah, you just four, four, one, two. You know that one, I think it's a gif or a meme where it's like the girl gets the pinata and the pinata comes down and all the kids come running at her and she still swipes. switches to the scene from Transformers
[02:50:47] where Optimus just cuts all the knights around him. That's basically what you do. You're just like like from Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter where just one hit one swipes with an axe just takes out a tree. That's awesome. Yeah. That's what you go through you destroy
[02:51:16] your flag. Like your flagpole is gone. It just shatters. But it breaks through the it damages enough the tower that it starts listing to the side. And you also manage to take out all the elusive over feet.
[02:51:47] My tower has been disrupted and it severs chunks of the tentacles. Oh that's sick. Unfortunately now the raining large like not kilometer sized that's what's at the top. I mean if it's way the fuck up there it could be huge. Large pieces of tentacle and flesh are just falling from the sky amidst purple ichor it's raining purple. I'm going to cover him with the remnants of my shield.
[02:52:18] Roll a drop. Drop the shield over him so he doesn't die. It's purple rain all over you. Not like the song. I was going to say I don't remember that song but I would sing it
[02:52:50] like flesh hitting metal and falling to the sides and such. Sounds like giants are having sex. It's not good at all. After a few moments the purple rain and ichor and chunks of meat are done falling and you look around and the buzzing sound that you didn't quite hear but now it's gone you're aware that it was there is gone. the tinnitus that you weren't aware that you had is now gone from the psychic
[02:53:20] energy that they were sending up those blasphemous signals. You managed to destroy the tower has fallen over like a tree and it's time to call on the stork and go back up to the dreadnought. So we'll call back to the COC? Yep. It would be the commissar right? Yeah you're calling the commissar. Let them know objective
[02:53:49] complete. I'm assuming the jamming field is clear now? Yes good job doom droppers we're sending in a stork to pick you up. Already. Within moments a stork flood We have to defend it though. There's still some remnant husks burst out of the ground and start attacking you to get back to get into the gondola receiver
[02:54:20] attachment from the stork and then they fly you up. See it's a little wonky because as it jets off you're like what? It starts listing a bit with the G's. Did you bring the mech back with you? Are you able to? No. The gondola is not bringing it back. If I can't bring it back with me before we left the disruptor I would have set all my dynamite inside it and left it hugging
[02:54:50] the disruptor. The way you set it up looks like it's a giant phallus. Part of the tower was on its side. You just have to hold it. Wow. It explodes and you guys just swagger march away and start defending against the husk.
[02:55:20] As we're swaggering away my guard dog starts shooting things behind me. Maybe we should look and see what that is. Just wait. Just hold it. It's cool. I'm sure. That was the mission. Congrats. You guys get to applause and various medals and merits from the home world on your reports. To use our battle bonds. Did we
[02:55:50] level up? No. You leveled up a year for the home world. Wait, so I got another hitbox? No. I know. That was Doom Drop. I do think the communal pool of stratum points, stratum
[02:56:20] face points, shots, allocations, allocations is actually a really good idea. Yeah, because we never ran it. I died and reset, but still, even if I didn't, I could have called all those in on my role. Granted, I had a very good role. Also, it would mean that amongst more competitive groups, there'd be, like, if you were less of a team team, because Dave and I work pretty well as a
[02:56:50] team, and we're very rarely grumpy with each other over the shit that we do, if we were less cooperative, and he rolled a six, and I rolled a one on our stratagems, I might be kind of pissy about that. Yeah. Yeah. But if it's a communal pool, then really you're just thankful for whoever got the highest role.
[02:57:20] Or just it's always six. Or just it's always six. Yeah. And then it's just a, you know, it's a communal pool. That being said, even if you did roll one and I rolled a six, and you're pissy about that, okay, at the start, I call down a minigun, and I call down your spear for you. Yeah. Because, like, you could still call down blue stratagems and give it to other people. But if we were less cooperative, then you might not want to waste your stratagems on it. Yeah,
[02:57:53] because communal one does work better. Whether it's rolled or a fixed six, I think it's a lot better. It'd just be very unfortunate if it comes up as a one. I think in that regard, I'd probably have to move the stratagems away from player thing and just have that at the bottom next to where the vehicles are. All helldivers in the group have a communal pool of stratagem allocations or stratagem requisitions. It might not also be terrible to have a small list
[02:58:22] of suggestions. Not these are all the stratagems available, but here's a handful of stratagems available. Some people may not have ever played helldivers. This is supposed to make it up. It's helldivers, but also just you wrote down a suggestion calling down support. These can be orbital attacks, defense turrets, or vehicles, heavier weapons, or unique gear to get the job done. It does say that.
[02:58:52] It's not listing a heavy machine guy. What does an orbital attack look like? Describe your orbital attack. Even if they aren't aware of helldivers, they might play Halo and be like, okay, orbital strike. It's like the covenant glassing the planet. An orbital beam to come down, which is also a helldivers thing anyways. It actually is there. It's a little bit
[02:59:22] in the finer print. People that play battlefield are like, okay, I want a gun ship to come in and strafe the area. It's like, okay, cool, do it. That's basically the eagle too. We didn't name what the eagle would be. No, I know. Goose. The cobra chicken. The cobra chicken. The cobra chicken. Very, very angry. I do love, because again, I looked at it like, hell there's the name follow-up,
[02:59:52] is meant to, in my head, it's meant to be half serious, but I love how we just went so goofy with it, and cartoonish with it. It was a nice balance of silly and serious, I think. Yeah. Because, again, when the chips were down, we were there to work. Like, sure, there was some inappropriate things that happened. As I stare at Aaron. Just inappropriate things. Like what? Name one thing. I can name a lot.
[03:00:23] A lot of things with spears going in orifices. Oh, I'm sorry, I was called that effective. Yeah, they were called shots to weak spots. To be fair, not even like, super like, that wasn't even super like, lewd. No. Impaling eyes, and like, stabbing, like impaling somebody through the mouth. Yeah, I didn't even stab anybody in the dick, and I had that one like, caught, and ready to go. Like, I was waiting for the opportune moment. Yeah.
[03:00:53] It just never happened. Intentionally, like, again, like, I changed Joel to be C.O.C. just because I was like, oh, come on, like, I gotta have, like, also because I'm like, Cockrock is a time-honored tradition in Helldivers, and like, I had to do something, that's why it's called The Tip in my version, like, tactical interest point. Yeah. That's excellent. And then, like, yeah, like, COC, and then, like, I had to, like, all right, the council of, like, Adam came up with the council of war cartographers,
[03:01:22] and then I was like, when I was like, oh, I'm gonna have a second, like, another one that's like, for, like, the actual GM aspect of it, it's like, oh, the controlled operations commissar, and I was like, that's perfect. That is great. So, it's cock and cowk? Yeah. It's a cowk? Yeah, well, the war, war's silent. The war's in bracket, the war's in brackets, it's not technically there, but. Also, I was thinking, one way to do stratagems too, instead of it just being a flat roll, and whoever's the highest
[03:01:52] is, that's what it is, it could be, you take the number of players in the game, and then they roll, and then, the highest gets added on to it up to six. Yeah, see, that's what I was thinking, like, maybe like, so even if there's three players and all them roll one, you're still, that's still maxed it. Although, that might be too easy to get maxed out, though. Yeah, that would, you might as well just say, everybody gets six. Conversely, I could do, like, it's the amount of players that are in the game, plus a dice, plus roll a dice six.
[03:02:22] That's what I just said. I thought you did, like, every person rolls a dice six. No, like, the number of players plus a roll. Okay, yeah. And the roll gets added to the player. Yeah, because that's, that's how some other games do for, like, getting bennies, or, like, basically getting, like, action points, and so that, or, like, like, point, like, a pool of tokens that, like, the GM has, is, like, the amount, the number of players at the table plus something.
[03:02:51] We've seen that work against players before. Yeah. Where, because in red markets, Yeah. having less players is actually a huge detriment to you, because it means during negotiations, you don't get as many of those vignettes. yeah, true. So, it's, it's the same kind of thing. So, for having a party of two, it means you potentially have less stratagems than a party of four. But, if you, if you have a dice,
[03:03:22] if you use the dice six, like, rather than just like a static number, it at least gives them a chance to have a high number. It also has a chance to give them a low number, but, it at least gives them a chance to have, like, give them a better number. So, question, how many stratagems would we have used? FRV, repair drone, guard dog, chainsaw, mech, jump pack, spear, and I called you in. Okay. So, we used nine total. Yeah.
[03:03:52] So, if we just had six, we would have had to call for a refresh. You would have to do a refresh. Yes. Which, I feel like every game should have a refresh. Yeah, and the refresh rule, the reason, like, why I think it should be left to a roll is because, like, well, it could be, like, oh, sorry, your dreadnought's out of orbit. Like, they're like, you don't have the treasured right now because that happens in game. Like, if at a certain point in the level, if they're taking too long or whatever, they just, yeah, they just decide to fuck off. They're pulling out of high orbit or they're pulling
[03:04:22] into high orbit. Yeah, or there's an anomalous planetary storm that's in the way. Yeah, you can use that as a narrative thing, like, as another, like, complication in the fight. Yeah. But I do think that, like, whatever you set up for the max stratagems, like, it should be designed in a way that, generally speaking, unless players are extremely careful and, like, restrictive of using their stratagems,
[03:04:51] you should have to refresh it every game. At least. Okay. So then perhaps, however, I think that as far as the refresh goes, it shouldn't be, it should be costly. Not, not to the point where you don't want to do it, but to the point where it could be detrimental if you do it at the wrong time. So, like, if you want to do it in combat, it needs to be both somewhat time consuming, so somebody has
[03:05:21] to give up their turn. And they should have to roll for how many stratagems they get. So it shouldn't be a full, like, if you're saying that we start with six stratagems, you shouldn't get the full six. Yeah, like, okay, so if you do an auto-combat, maybe you'll fully regen because there's no time, but in combat, you get one back. Okay. Every time you do it in combat. Because I was like, oh, so maybe I'll get rid of the roll die six for stratagems, just have, like,
[03:05:51] a static six stratagems, like, stratum allocations as a communal thing, and then, like, yeah, just go with that. But you're saying it'll be shown. Or the refresh is the number of players. Oh, yeah, I like that. Refresh is the number of players, so everybody gets one more. Yeah. Everybody has a chance to refresh. Yeah, I actually really like that one. Yeah. Yeah, because, again, I did base, like, I just based the stratagems off of, like, the other game that was Lasers and Feelings of Dungeons with Dragons,
[03:06:21] where I had, like, those, like, mystery potions. But I think, like, this one, I think it works kind of, like, we need to augment it even more further. Yeah. But also, refreshes should be costly in a numerical value. So either, okay, you're allowed one refresh per mission, or you have to go find this thing or you have
[03:06:51] to complete an objective before you get another one because otherwise, okay, you get one, one strategy per player at the table, okay, then we're going to refresh, okay, and then it's his turn and he's going to refresh too. Okay, so now you're back up to six. Well, yeah, but those two players are doing nothing for their turns. Yeah, they're sacrificing a turn.
[03:07:21] And they're probably just standing there and getting hit. Well, then why can't I do that out of combat? You can. Okay. So basically, every combat you can do is a long refresh. Okay, but hold on, hold on. If you do that, then you're also saying, okay, so now we've got six stratagems, so I'm going to call in my jetpack, my spear, I'm going to call in a mech, and then another mech for you, and then another mech for the third person at the table, and then a mech
[03:07:51] for the fourth person at the table, and then you're going to refresh. No, because you can, like out of combat you mean? Yeah. Maybe out of combat. In combat it'd be like you can call in one thing per turn. That makes sense. Yeah. But out of combat how do you limit that? But if you're saying that you can do that an infinite number of times in combat, then as soon
[03:08:21] as combat's over, then we can just do the same thing until... Well, that's why Chris said there should be some limiter. That's why I'm saying that there should be a limiter there. Yeah, like we have to do a side objective. Yeah, like you go complete a side objective and then you can get a refresh. Yes, but you're sacrificing getting to the objective quicker and potentially taking more damage just to get your strategies back.
[03:08:51] Yes. Yeah, like you have to go like a line of satellites or something. Yeah, like in the game, you have to go to like you have those optional things of like load up this can and this artillery gun thing with shells. Yeah, so the COC is like, okay, yeah, we'll give you more, but you have to do additional side objectives for us. There's a microwave down over here. And then that would give me a chance to actually have another table of side objectives. Oh, here's another side,
[03:09:20] I'll roll from the side objective table. And the edge would be a big one. It really is a great one to be in there because then when you come across things like a disruptor tower, you have a heavy stratagem you can call in from long range. Yeah, because then you can just like, all right, well, here's the stratagem. It's basically just a, I'm going to paint this tower so that artillery cannon a couple clicks down, the way that we just restocked, can just start fire and pelting this thing from wrong to wrong. We should be a teeth guy who will operate. Yeah.
[03:09:51] Oh, yes, sir. They send one guy down. Yeah, exactly. They send somebody, all right, we've got a teeth guy that is, oh, got teeth. Oh, right, I'm letting it up now, sir. Yeah. I do like the idea of a version of this game, it's just teeth, like teeth units. It is silly and fun. That's a true grunt fantasy. You have no power fantasy. Helldivers is kind of grunt fantasy. Helldivers is definitely grunt fantasy. Teeth is like hard mode grunt
[03:10:21] fantasy. Yeah, because Helldivers there is a certain level of power fantasy in it. Yeah. Well, like a true grunt fantasy is like playing like Operation Flashpoint, where you're literally just a guy with a gun or armor, where it's just a military simulator and that's it. You don't get any air support, you don't get any like fantasy tech. The best you have is a disposable rocket pod. That's it. Or like one heavy weapon, like a,
[03:10:51] all right, you have a one charge like beam cannon. Like, you know, like, you can fire one shot that like will take out a heavy unit and vaporize a small group of lighter units. But that's it. That's all you got. And then you just have a sidearm. Yeah. I think obviously teeth should just have a sidearm and then like the one of them has the option of having just a rocket pod or something like that. Yeah. You either have a one shot rocket or you have an assault rocket. Yeah.
[03:11:21] A wall rocket or a beam cannon. Like a single shot, a single charged beam cannon and a sidearm or a melee. I feel bad for that one guy who has a baton. Just like a fuck. Like a sword. It's got a taser at the end of it but it's still just a fucking baton. Yeah. But yeah. How was the encounter system? Because like I was just I mean you rolled the same thing twice. Yeah. Okay so yeah I rolled like roving enemies and like forward
[03:11:50] armor cache and then I did get the tip and roving enemies but like there could have been like an enemy ambush so they could have gotten like jumped you guys. Then there's also fallen droppers which are basically like you guys find like a couple of like fallen soldiers and you have to pick up their droplets like they're basically their tags to retrieve. I think it worked good. It worked better than the first time we played I think. Especially with the armor it's a lot more balanced.
[03:12:20] Yeah the armor I think giving the armor like more like clear like not just like oh here like cosmetic here like flavor how like if it comes like figure like tell me how your armor comes in handy so you can get die six. I think giving it like some kind of mechanical benefit like a die six to doom for a medium and a die six to drop for a light and then like for the heavy armor you just get two you get an extra harm box. Yeah I did feel like a little tankier because of it but not so
[03:12:50] much that I thought it was. And yet you're like I'm super glad that somebody died in the game because that's the thing like the reason why I chose this sort of game like a rules light system for this because like hell die or you die constantly. Oh yeah. And I like death is easy in that game. So like it's just fun to have like oh no that character died or kind of drop an exact clone of them. I do wonder if maybe the heavy like not that I felt too tanky but I
[03:13:19] wonder if it might work better for like everyone's supposed to be dying along anyways if just like I still have one harm box but my harm box counts as a vehicle style harm box. Where like a heavy thing has to take Yeah so if the beam laser hits me I'm it counts as if I'm hit by a normal weapon. Yeah because I did find like I finally got one shot I was hitting you a couple of times and dropping like one time one but then I couldn't but then you have a stim pack so you just immediately stim back up so it's like Well I did that
[03:13:49] after combat but like in that first engagement I got hit twice I think and then after that I yeah I healed up no I got hit once in the first engagement I healed the vehicle we went on I got hit the second engagement I was about to die in there but Aaron saved me and then I healed after that and then we went into the third one. Yeah and then you got vaporized because you didn't roll quite well. Yeah basically the difference would have been if I was light or medium I would have just used
[03:14:18] an extra stim between those two engagements but it would have been the same result. Yeah but the thing was also like I also dropped a heavy unit basically a tripod from and so like that one it's a one hit killer so it doesn't matter like that one I it was kind of like I guess it would be like a two hitbox kill the way we were kind of like playing with it but really it was like if we had the heavy hitter if you as the heavy armor be like a vehicle harm box then
[03:14:48] that would not be a one shot kill it would have taken out your armor and the next shot would have killed you or a leaf hitting you would have killed you it's like hyper armor in fighting games where it's a level of invulnerability but it's not really I'm basically asking do you think I felt too tanky it's hard to tell
[03:15:18] first two engagements I was primarily in a vehicle especially the first one and Aaron was in the mech second and third so you were being very cautious and defensive you were giving yourselves ablative armor by having vehicles we were playing smart we weren't being dumb down I had some fun with it for the first one I could have ramped up the
[03:15:49] elucid drop more heavies on you guys I thought the last engagement was going to go further I was just playing it because it's 1230 now I was looking at the time originally I did roll a die to see how many encounters you were the time it
[03:16:21] was like that's fine the way I have the instructions for a COC play to find out how things go introduce threats one or two at a time maybe even more just to gauge the grit and conviction of your doom droppers they can take it in this sort of game be
[03:16:51] vicious you need to be vicious you were basically playing it everything on the battlefield is expendable even the troopers so you guys can
[03:17:21] oh no you died send reinforcements how is the cap on that reinforcements is using a stratagem right so Aaron I think he had one or two left when he called me in so if he called me again and that was his last stratagem and then I did something to die stupidly again then how would I get back in would
[03:17:51] he have to burn a turn to get a stratagem back at point he had to roll a refresh so he had to burn a chance to roll a drop to refresh and probably roll a drop again to get out of the way of some fire or sacrifice his harm box to take harm as he is trying to refresh I just wonder if
[03:18:25] it for the entire mission so if we had two and I rolled the two we have four total reinforcements for the whole mission and us okay but if you're using a strategy you would call in reinforcements anyway yeah but what I'm saying is it might be too
[03:18:55] easy to have infinite reinforcements because of that because as long as you survive one round you can call in the other guy not if you only can refresh after completing objectives then again you've only got no stratagems then you have six reinforcements yeah then again also if we are playing this a little bit harder if the COC is being harder on it in terms of sending more enemies and attacking you guys
[03:19:25] a harder cock yeah then then it also makes it harder and if you get TPK mission failed yeah and then you guys are back up on the ship and we're figuring out a new mission basically you're generating it because again that entire game that was completely just like I
[03:20:02] reinforced then the mission is failure you guys get spawned back on the ship and we're moving to a new planet theater that's the thing in helldivers that's really embarrassing I can't show my face on that mission again let's go guys exactly in helldivers let's say me and Aaron are running like because it has arms it just slowly reverses out of orbit but no so in helldivers with me and Aaron are running
[03:20:31] beside each other going to an objective and a tank turret aims and shoots and blasts both it's not game over then it just goes squad lost sending reinforcements there goes two strategies yeah that would instantly eat up two strategies yeah so it's only a TPK once you have no reinforcements left so as long as there is a static somewhat resuppliable number you're doing extra effort aka doing a side mission delaying the main objective which might make
[03:21:01] the main objective harder but you get reinforcements back I think that's a way to balance it yeah I think I don't want to add too much complexity to this game because it is meant to be a rules yeah that's true yeah but I mean the amount of rules that we have described here are less than a page yeah so like you have a page already written and even the modifications that we've described are less than a page worth yeah so you could still do it on one piece of
[03:21:31] paper front and back yeah I'm also thinking like maybe I have an entire one that's just all like the Joel stuff
[03:22:01] so it's just tables yeah and some other rules that the Joel can throw in maybe even a table for loadouts or a table for like here's some to six there's like scout units which are easily dispatched
[03:22:29] or the medium units basically standard ground groups there's heavy units one hit killers that's basically tripods specialized units like a sniper or into the meat grinder and then the sixth option is always just like
[03:22:59] choose or roll two options yeah so basically have two extra you have to choose between the other options or roll to see which options you get what's kind of cool this is like you don't even have to do it in a helldivers like universe like you could roll this in halo yeah that's one of the benefits of making it like like we cartoonish version of helldivers yeah like even more of a satirical
[03:23:29] version of helldivers we were playing the version of helldivers in a cartoon from youtube where the guy gets fired out of the ship with no thought yeah like so like and I've come up with like my own little factions and stuff like again the elucidate are like my version of the illuminate and stuff yeah because again I had to file names off but you might want to have
[03:23:57] a table for load out information yeah only so that you know what can affect what because like okay I was carrying a senator revolver yeah which is heavy armor pen yeah and I know light medium and heavy armor pen doesn't really matter so much in general for for this but it kind of does only in
[03:24:27] that only in that you have heavy units listed as not being affected by light weapons yeah I do actually have that under the enemy force multiplier in brackets next to like scouts and light units basically the huskings of that easily dispatched so like you guys are just going to be able to clean those guys up as long as you're not bailed medium units are basically on par with you guys so they've got a hitbox before they get killed and then the
[03:24:57] heavy units unless you're using like heavy ordnance you're not taking it against a tripod or like a meat pounder question there could be a really simple way to clarify it and not to a point of making it like refer to the helldivers wiki to know a way to simplify it is if the weapon is fully automatic your low net weapons you start with they are never heavy stuff you can't kill vehicles and stuff with any of them if it's automatic it's good at killing light guns if it's
[03:25:27] semi-automatic and or slow it's good at killing the medium enemies like stuff like that but any backpack weapon is good at killing big shit doesn't matter what it is if you have a weapon that like say support weapon it's good yeah because like auto cannons machine guns like the laser yeah because that's generally how you play but weapons that have automatic fire should be able to kill multiple of the small guys in a round yeah
[03:25:56] whereas slow weapons can only kill one small guy around yeah but but advantage is like would they get a bonus to hit because they're slow easier to hit with less to kill no no no the advantage of slow weapons is that those slow weapons can affect heavier
[03:26:50] targets fire yeah so you dictate like how what affects the enemies like how they're affecting the enemy and then like oh like oh shoot I don't have the right weapon for this well you
[03:27:21] Or what you could do, not just all support weapons are good at killing big shit, because if that's the case, then the minigun is good at killing big shit and also all the little shit. And that's definitely not true. Yeah, and the same would be said for the Stalwart. Yeah. Stalwart can't take down a tripod, can it? No. Maybe a machine gun can. Yeah, but it takes a lot of doing. Regardless. So the easiest way is, if it's fully automatic, it's meant for killing hordes.
[03:27:47] If it's semi-automatic, it's good at killing the stronger medium enemies. If it's explosive, it's for killing big shit. Yeah. Because that's generally... Yeah. Yeah. Yeah? Oh, yeah. Actually, that's totally valid, because the autocannon? Explosive. It's great for killing big shit. If I had run this last weekend with Mark and them, you know Mark would have called out immediately a hell bomb, portable hell bomb. Oh, yeah. And just walked into the... Just ran into the enemy.
[03:28:16] Or just set it off while you're all around. Yeah. No, no. Mark would have taken the hell bomb, and somebody would have gone up behind him and pushed the button. Yeah, it's that. For sure. And then he's like, all right, everybody roll drop. Minus... Now, I was like... All right, roll drop. Minus one... One less die. Except for the guy who pushed the button. You get one more guy. Because he was aware. He had more warning, because he thought of it.
[03:28:46] Yeah, I think ultimately... Aside from like... These suggestions are good, because I'll have to think about that and stuff. But I think it is working. Oh, yeah. For sure. Definitely. Yeah, no. It's working. Every time we do it, we find little tweaks, but it's not like... Okay, this is garbage. We have to redo the whole thing. This system doesn't work at all for this. Because the first time we did this, the only complaint I had was the medium armor that I was wearing felt like I had no bonus at all. And then we fixed that. We fixed that. We got that with the mechanical...
[03:29:15] Like a mechanical better. And also, I think I heard... Even with the rolling thing, when I gave this PDF to the first iteration to the group from RPX, one of them was like, you need to clarify a little bit more in the rolling rules of what dictates getting more die sixes. And I did that. Like, so I got it. It's like, when you're armored for the situation, like roll a dictates getting more of a dice six.
[03:29:41] Or when your specialization would work in this moment, roll another dice six. And I do like the idea. I might have to also add, like, if you do a one-liner, like a really cool one-liner, you can roll a dice six. Because I did like that. Or even putting the vehicle things, like, if you're using the vehicle in a situation, you can get a dice six on roll. Yeah. Like, regardless of if you're piloting it or if you're using it for the situation. Like, in the situation.
[03:30:10] Because you guys use those mechs outside of, like, just piloting them, like, to get bonuses. Like, you need for... Yeah, height advantage. Height advantage and, like, cover and stuff like that. Yeah. So, that was something I didn't even consider. Bounding your own minigun to it. Yep. Now, that's also stuff that, like, you can kind of just, like... The system, I think, what I like about, like, these rules-like systems, like this one specifically, is, like, you can just kind of on the fly, like, throw something together, like, throw something out there for you. Like, oh, yeah, it's okay. This is fine. But that should also... Some of that should be also written down or clarified.
[03:30:40] Yeah. That that's something that somebody can do. Especially if I'm going to be, like, you know, posting this somewhere or, like, selling it on Itch.io or something. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yeah, I think it works good. Yeah. But, yeah. And in regards to what we said before, like, if you have a stalwart-like machine gun, you can still kill a big enemy. So, it doesn't make it useless. It's just, like, if you're using a weapon that is... Automatic weapons are designed for killing lots of little guys.
[03:31:08] So, if you're using it for that purpose, you get an extra D6. Same thing with a huge explosive thing. If you're using a rocket launcher to kill a big guy, you get an extra D6. It's easier to do. Yeah. But if you're using a rocket launcher to kill a group of little guys, it's not really made for that. But you still can do it. It's just not as effective as just opening into them with a machine gun. Yeah. For sure. And that does keep it relatively simple to keep track of weapons and what they do and
[03:31:38] don't do. But, I mean, as far as small arms go, I mean, assault rifles, pistols, and then whether they're automatic or slow. Yeah. Yep. The shotguns are all slow. Yep. Unless they're automatic shotguns and they're fast. So, basically, automatic shotgun and assault rifles are the same damn thing, it's just a cosmetic overall. Like, whatever. That's fine. Fuck range. Who cares? Yeah. Okay.
[03:32:07] Like, this game's not that intricate. If you want that, we're running that in a different system, in a much more complex system. Let me shatter them. Yeah. Cool. Though, you did say at one point in the game, you can shoot them if you have a marksman rifle or a sniper rifle. Yes. So, you should have a stipulation on there for slow rifles that are long range. Yeah.
[03:32:35] I think anything that is slow would be... Well, no, because if a pump acts a shotgun, you're not going to be doing that. Or a revolver. Yeah. Because, I mean, don't get me wrong, like, yes, technically, a .357 Magnum revolver could have very good range. Mm-hmm. But the... Do you have a bioparticle scope on it? Mm-hmm. Bingo.
[03:33:01] The operational range for a handgun is 20 yards. Mm-hmm. Like, that is the optimal range. Yeah. Yes, I have seen people who are crack shots at 100 yards with a pistol, but that's not a norm. That's... Yeah, that's a specialized. Yeah. That's just the training. So, basically, you can get an extra D6 if your weapon is specialized for this purpose. Yeah.
[03:33:28] So, if you have a long range scope on it, you're shooting long range, congratulations, you have a bonus. If you have a long range scope on it and you're shooting point blank, you lose one. So, it's an advantage-disadvantage. And I also think that might also fall under the specialty thing. Like, if you're a sniper, if your specialty is, like, long range, or long range recon, like, that might be, like, where you get your... you get a bonus to your attack, or your doom, to do that kind of stuff, like, with regular weapons. Yeah. To do that kind of bullshit.
[03:33:56] But you would get that anyway, because if you're a sniper, that is your tag. Yeah, no, that's what I mean. That's what he's saying. Oh, okay. Yeah, that's what I mean. Like, you're... because you have the specialty tag of, like, again, like, you've used, like, what do I call them? Yeah, recon sniper. Like... Yeah. Yeah, you just, like, that's your tag. But, like, that's the situational marker for, like, to get a die six. Yeah, but if you were a sniper with an assault rifle, you were worse than a sniper using a slow weapon. Yeah. So, you get a bonus from...
[03:34:24] As a sniper using a slow weapon, you have your standard dice, you have a sniper, and you have precision weapon, because it's a slow weapon. So, you have three to write off the bat. Yeah. Whereas, if you're using automatic, you would just have your standard and your sniper, because you're standard and shooting long range. In a way, the specialty should also dictate, like, for the person who's making the character, should dictate, like, what kind of loadout they're going to have. Because they're going to make... because then they're basically shooting guns or weapons that are already basically flavored for their specialty. Yeah. Yeah. That's right. That's true. Yeah.
[03:34:54] So, maybe it wouldn't double down. I just always want more dice, because I still get rolling. Like, rolls up. You rolled five dice and missed. Yeah. Yeah. That's how you got vaporized. I know, but it's fine. I'm also really happy that one of you guys got... I was super happy about dying. Also, now I get to draw what the facet looks like for the Elucidate, which is... Mm-hmm. Just pictures this, like, one-armed, one-legged Cyclops creature. Where's the arm?
[03:35:23] Is his big, beefy arm coming out of the bag with his neck? Yeah, of course. Yeah. Okay, cool. Well, see, I just kept picturing it, like, how, like... It doesn't have a body. It's just a large... Sort of like an S. Yeah, sort of like a large head with maybe a tapered thing at the bottom, and then that becomes, like... That forms, like, there's, like, the leg. And then, like, probably, like, at the back of its head is where the arm is comes out. Like a scorpion tail. I mean, if that's how you want to do it... That's how I'm kind of, like, visualizing it. It's very alien-looking already, I can tell. Yeah.
[03:35:58] The early books in the Junk-Hair Druid are very Celtic mythology. Oh, so you have a lot of... So that's actually why I knew what a Falken was and how it's pronounced. See, I knew from the... I have a... My mom has a fairy... Like, a book on fairies. Like, not like... Oh, like little fairies. No, like nudity and, like, dark... Like the fae. Yeah, the fae. Like, the seely and unseely.
[03:36:25] And it's drawn by the guy who did all the artwork for The Dark Crystal. Ah. So I actually... I knew about the Falken through that book because it had a bunch of, like... It had, like, entries for each of, like, the different types of, like, Scottish and Cornish and Irish Fae. But anyway, that's... We're getting kind of off... Kind of off now. But anything else before I turn off the recorder? No. I don't think so. That was fun. Yeah. I think...
[03:36:52] Is there a maximum cap on how many dice you can... I think it's... Yeah. I think it's only really meant to be, like, three or four. But four is the highest. Because, like... That's your basic role, your specialization... Yeah, because... And then Brandon Bullshit Bonfires. Yeah, because a critical success is only three... Is a three-dice success. So, like, it's meant to be... You shouldn't be rolling fistfuls of dice. Yeah, you shouldn't be rolling fistfuls of dice. And, like, critical successes are meant to be rare. Or meant to be, like,
[03:37:21] Oh, yeah, I got all three or four of my dice. Hey, Scott, like... I, like, did that. Like, a four is, like, beyond, like, All right. You're... You win. Yeah. Like, four doesn't even work... It doesn't even matter. As long as you have to... That's conforming a crit. Yeah, basically. Yeah. Yeah. It's just basically... Like, up to me odds. But, yeah, it's meant to be, like, just, like, an uncommon kind of thing. Yeah. Okay. Because I think... I think there should be a max... Yeah. Like, a cap, for sure. Yeah.
[03:37:51] Yeah, I would say a max cap would be four. Yeah, how are you just getting all your bonuses? Because you have your standard bonus, theoretically a bonus if you're doing drop, on your drop rolls. Yeah. Plus class bonuses, plus miscellaneous. Yeah, plus a miscellaneous one, which was, like, Oh, like... Okay. Because you guys were... Because you guys were... So, for a drop roll, my normal dice... Yeah. Plus...
[03:38:20] Armor. Armor. Plus... Specialty. Jetpack. Oh, yeah. The load up. Or the strategy. Bannerman. Specialty. Specialty. Yeah. Okay. Because armor is special. Yeah, yeah. Plus... Teammate helping you. Oh, yeah. Yeah, you can also get that, yeah. And then... Pun on top of that. Well, the pun thing was actually something I threw out for the game. Because you guys, like... Some of you guys didn't have, like, anything else. It was like...
[03:38:50] I'd say, like, that almost should be optional. If, like, they had nothing else, it's like, all right. Do a pun. Like, do something... Do something. Do it one way. Situational. Like, uh... Yeah. Having the high ground. Yeah. Like, environmental. So, again, that's something that the GM can, like, can give them, like, after the fact. So, he's basically telling you that right now, in the system, the way it's designed right now, he can theoretically get seven dice to do a drop. And I would say two of those is only if the GM's willing to give you those dice. Because, like, a baseline is supposed to be four. Fair. Yeah. Fair.
[03:39:20] I'm just saying that, like... I have come up with seven ways that I can get... Well... One of them you get anyway. Yeah. One of them you start with... You're supposed to... Baseline of the game... Of the system, you're only supposed to get... Baseline one. Armor. Specialty. But do you have it written down what the maximum number of dice you have? Yeah. So, you should probably set it. Have that in there? Okay. Uh... Just because otherwise you're gonna have players saying, no, there's nothing that says that I can't have seven dice. Yeah. That's true.
[03:39:50] Granted, I don't think there's anything on the sheet that says, like, if you're using a stratagem, you get a bonus dice. No, it's really just... It's the strat... We were just kind of saying that. Yeah. The stratagems... Like, the way I have stratagems is basically, like, you bring something down to give you an... Like, to basically remove an obstacle. Well, it makes it so you can do something you normally wouldn't. If you have a jetpack, that allows you to be able to fly through the air and do an attack that you normally wouldn't be able to.
[03:40:16] So if I have a guard dog, I have the ability to shoot something completely behind me while I'm shooting something else because I have a guard dog. Yeah. You know? It's given me the ability to change how I'm... So it shouldn't be giving you a bonus to play an extra dice six. It'd just be, like, allow you to, like, use that thing and, like, just roll as regular. It gives you the ability to do more things. Yeah. Yeah. Of course to have more things. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. So we'll just work on that a little bit.
[03:40:45] Just because, like, as Aaron's saying, there should be a hard limit. Yeah. For sure. Because, again... Personally, I would set that hard limit at five. Yeah. But if you're saying four, it's not really problematic. Yeah. The only reason that I say five is because sometimes you wind up with players who have particularly bad times rolling dice that do what they want them to do. Who are you looking at over there? Yeah. I was just looking down the hall. Oh, I see. Yeah. Definitely not looking at you. No, of course not.
[03:41:14] So, like, that one extra dice could make a big difference to them. I mean, it didn't. Whereas the people... No, it didn't. Sorry. Realistically, I should have picked light or medium to get more. It was good to have the heavy because, like, we were testing out that. Because we also... We were testing out... And we just wanted to see, like, if the heavy armor felt like it had value. Yeah. Yeah. I also picked three as my number, which is kind of, like, the most average thing I could pick, kind of. Yeah. That's the thing.
[03:41:42] It's like, I'm not going to be more bad on anything. Yeah. Yeah. Same with four. Yeah. Before, you just slate edge. Nope. Oh, no. You're right. Yeah. No. We are just... He is slightly better at doom and I am slightly better at drop. Yeah. Because of your armor. And by that... That's only because of your armor.
[03:42:11] Uh, and... No, no. Uh, and it's not even that it's I'm slightly better at drop. It's that, uh... Actually, no. I said that backwards. Because I am four in... Because I was four, I'm actually... Uh, better at doom than I am at drop. Because you have to roll under, yeah.
[03:42:39] Because I have to roll under, but a four is still a success. Yes. Yeah. Yeah, because time does count as a success. So, I can roll one to four for doom. So, there's only two on the dice that fail you. Yes. Yeah. Um, but I get... Uh, uh, so yeah, I should have actually gone with three. For the, like, best meta min-maxing. Well, it's not good to have, like... For the light armor.
[03:43:09] Like, because you chose three, you chose four. But, like, it is good to have, like, two... You guys choosing, like, either of the middle rounds. Yes. But likewise, for you, uh... You're a drop. I roll one, two, three, and fail on... Like, those are my successes on doom. And then my successes on drop are three, four, five. Uh, and so it's actually... So, it's actually, yeah. I'm slightly better on drop. Yeah. Yeah.
[03:43:39] So, uh... Yeah, I actually keep thinking that it would be the other way around. That because I picked four, that would actually make me better at drop than at doom. But that's not the case. Nope. I mean, you saw how much I was confused by, like, do I go over or under? Yeah. That's just a me issue. It's not a system issue. I am, yeah. Because it's something that I'm normally not used to. Because normally in most systems, it's... You have your numbers. You have to roll over things. You know, to beat things.
[03:44:05] When we were first playing, like, the Dungeons with Dragons variant of this rural system, again, like, Mark kept... Like, Mark, or a couple of you guys, like... Oh, we all, we all, like, were, like, confused at first because we thought, like, oh, there has to be, like, two numbers. Like, no, no, just one number. You're rolling either over or under. It's a very alien way of doing it. Yeah. Because we're all, like, traditional D&D players. Yeah. So, yeah. It is interesting, though, because, like...
[03:44:31] And I always liked the idea of, like, going hard one way, like, setting it to five. Yeah, or... It makes you suck at one. One thing, but, like, if you're, like, just playing a glass cannon, basically, at that point. Mm-hmm. Or a glass dodger. Yes. Yeah. I guess not a glass dodger. I guess it would be, like, a steel dodger. Because, like, you're good at dodging, but you can't do anything else. Mm-hmm. Anyway. Sorry.
[03:45:00] Anything else before I... I think we talked about everything now. I think. All your qualms there? I think so. You had your qualms? Why didn't you tell me about that? I was being supportive. You told me to be supportive. I can love that. Yeah. All right, well, if that's all there is, then we will see you all next time, Internet. Goodbye. Bye.
